The Prince likes nice people. Particularly because people have been nice to him his whole life. They'll get along well!
 
At this point I think she’d get along with almost any non-evil person better than she does Keth. She’s nice to everyone , in my opinion it’s hard for most not to like her in some form or another.
 
Did Istar ever get told what they were truly looking for? I remember her being told (by Rihaly) that they’re looking for a crystal ball or something , and I know she knows for absolutely certain that they’re retreicing something of great power before a Lich can get it , but I don’t remember her ever being told exactly what. Istar herself would definitely remember , of course.
 
Here is what was told to the group while still aboard the airship:

As to the specifics of the job not much more was learned. They were go into the ruined temple retrieve the phylactery, which is supposed to be a tome of some sort, and return it to Nameless Intent, before the minions of the Lich could claim it. No map of the temple is known, but it is expected to be either tapped or under non-friendly inhabitantion.

So you are looking for a big book.

Ah , I understand. Thank you! I thought it was the lich’s phylactery , but I.. didn’t recall Istar herself being told that , sorry.
 
I know. Can’t a Phylactery be most anything , so long as it’s of importance to the Lich (somewhat like a Horcrux)?

And thus the Prince is the second member of her team Istar’s introduced - in her own eager , friendly way - into the guild. Is she the unofficial welcoming party now? She’d make a wonderful Public Relations/Human Resources person!
 
HK Fifty HK Fifty I do want to know how, or why, Istar thinks this strange man appearing from nowhere is A) Part of their group? B) That he isn't the one who killed the elf?
I understand her introducing herself, that's what she does. But the rest of it I need some clarification on.
 
Because he’s wearing very fine full plate , and doesn’t seem to have any idea where they are , or what they’re doing. If he was the one who killed the other Elf he’d have evil designs on them (or so she thinks) - why would he just openly reveal himself to them in such a manner instead of trying to strike from the Shadows? And she’s assuming he’s part of their group because he didn’t actually appear from the entrance (as far as she can tell , and she’s at normally rather perceptive.. though her rolls want to say otherwise). Who else would just appear from nowhere , with no idea how he got there , right in the middle of their mission? Obviously that means he’s someone from their guild , and she’s assuming he’s new since he doesn’t seem to recognize Keth (she believes Keth’s been part of the guild for a very long time , and is thus very well known).

She’s also occasionally the type to think of things far more fancifully and benignly than she ought to , which I’m sure has shown through many times over already.

..though if you think that seems a bit much for even her , I can change it. She’d still not exactly take him as a threat , but she’d also not introduce the whole guild thing (she’d only introduce herself). She’d still not think he killed the Elf , however - she’s not that suspicious , especially when nothing suggests he was the killer.
 
That makes a bit of sense.

Maybe tone it back to just introducing herself. From her time spent with Keth she'd know he's fairly guarded, and not giving away the castle.

Understood. So probably just have her where she assumes he’s a friendly , or not hostile , but cut the whole ‘guild introduction speech’ thing. She’d also not introduce Rihaly (as her Lover or otherwise) to anyone who isn’t a team/guild member or another Elf.

..honestly , her introducing herself and asking how he got there/who he is/etc. would make more sense anyway , even for Istar and her excessive friendliness.
 
Yes. She wouldn't want to endanger Rihaly by sharing that bit. And telling some strange dude about a group that for all intents and purposes robs graves. Is not smart.

So, yes I think her introducing herself and asking him questions is much more reasonable for her. It's still very friendly and forward and very Istar.
 
I agree! And she’d never do anything to endanger Rihaly. She’d have herself horrifically tortured far before she’d ever put Rihaly in danger like that.

Indeed. I’m honestly glad you said that , because what she’s said now is so much more ‘Istar’ , without being oddly clairvoyant or simply careless. She sees the best in everyone and everything , and she can indeed be overly friendly and eager , but she’s not careless.
 
That’s perfectly alright Grim , I understand. I think we’re all just being swamped to death by life right now - I know I’ve been significantly more busy than I ever am normally. I’d love to continue this , even if it’s going to start moving a lot more slowly than normal.

I’m probably going to give Segue Segue room to let Rihaly respond finally , since Istar’s not being directly addressed right now. (Though I suppose since she doesn’t have to say anything , I can go ahead and record her thoughts and move to stand closer to her favoritest favorite Halfling).
 
Here here, I'm more than happy to keep up with it. We're all busy right now - it happens. Eventually, we'll have more free time and it'll pick up. Every game has ebbs and flows. Thanks for running it!
 
..I guess I should start to assume Istar always has something to say , especially if she’s with someone she enjoys being around as much as she enjoys being around Rihaly.

She is something of a chatterbox , after all. And an eager one at that.
