Ace didn't respond to the helpful comment even though he should. He cringed when the officer said that. "Tell me.. officer, do you think the members in my Squadron are dead?" Ace clenched his fists. If they were gone, we might as well give in to those flying machines and explosives he thought.

Kayla responded with a crisp salute."Yes sir" then turned towards her team and they moved towards the the place where the snipers were stored.


Sgt. Becket started picking one PGM Hécate II for himself and a Barrett M98B (aka noob sniper rifle) for Akari without asking him what he wanted. He then dumped on the private a pair of binoculars and lots and lots of sniper magazines while saying:


"Watch and learn greenhorn, this baby here will be your new best friend for this mission. Be sure to treat it nicely and clean it properly before we leave"


Kayla and Aila chuckled slightly at that sight.


"Its good that Tom likes him. Maybe it was for the best that I chose them for this mission" then she turns towards a rifle display and tries to pick something.

Ace gritted his teeth in regret. He wanted to smash everyone's head until he found his squadron back. He looked up towards the officer, eyes twitching. "Drop me off at the nearest battlefield."

"There is no battlefield. The enemy has not moved out of Glaslow's hills. Your job is to complete your mission. And if the gods decide, then they will allow you to travel through into the enemy's realm. The Emperor will be furious when he gains knowledge of you leaving the convoy. He is in-trusting you with the princess, but also, most of the generals have also been killed. Our armies are growing desperate. He needs to know you are capable of leading."

Ace slammed his fist on the armrest. "So that's it then? He doesn't trust me enough yet to lead?! Even after what I did? Do you understand that Squadron X was the only chance we had of infiltrating of the enemies base?!" Ace leaned back, slowing his breathing. He took out his sword and pulled a cloth from inside his jacket. He poured a little bit of water on the cloth and began cleaning his sword silently. "We should stop soon so I can grab some food for the princess if we don't have any already. Oh and one more thing; don't be surprised if I let you die if we're attacked." He paused to look up at the officer with an evil eye. "Like you said, my mission is to guide the princess. You are nothing but a help." He said the last word like it killed his squadron.

The British SAS captain saw the snipers and took them out of Becket and Akari's hands. "These are old. They are useless."


He then put them back and gave Becket an american made berreta-95.

The platoon was waiting for Kayla and her team to finish stocking up as they were doing final check ups on the vehicle's weapons.

While ignoring the scene behind her Kayla took a Colt M4A1 and a H&K USP, standard Japanese Special Forces equipment.


Becket had a displeased face but let it go while Akari was complaining about why he should carry all of the equipment.


After she finished picking magazines, Kayla added her own to Akari's pile. Then they headed towards outside, while Akari silently whispered:


"Why do I have to be the mule? " Aila seeing a opportunity to intervene said.


"Don't worry Akari-kun, you're the greenhorn, not to mention the lowers ranked in your team, possibly in the entire platoon. I would've help you...If I had a physical form that is" and she started laughing in his earpiece.


Outside the whole platoon awaited for them so after they split the weapons and magazines they each headed towards their respective vehicles, and we're waiting to depart.

"The closest village is nearly half a day away." The officer said. "The emperor trusts you. It's just that it's a critical time for the kingdom and it's vassal kingdoms."


After a moment of silence the officer spoke again. "What do you think the enemy's world is like?"

The platoon members were all inside as they finished the check lists. The commander got into the humvee at the front as he gave a nod to the driver. The driver nodded and began to drive out of the base and into the valley.


"Keep alert, we are exiting the outer reconnaissance area and into hostile ground." Commander Volski said through the vehicle radios.

Ace shrugged. "Why should I care? Even if we win this war what do you think the Emperor will do with it? He'll take it's resources and leave it to rot." He paused to take off his hat and rest it on his lap. "I can't lie though, I've seen it. A few weeks ago, the Squadron and I were sent on a task, you know just to spy and investigate. We didn't get too far in, but it's like walking into a light show. Everything is so.. as they would call it 'techy.'

"We can never defeat them." The officer said. "We've sent nearly a million troops already. And all of them never returned. The enemy was able to push us out of their world within less than a day."


"Their giant armoured birds drop magic and destroyed cities, and our farms. They are fast and can out-run our dragon legions. Our catapults are no match for them."

The chief technician began to run EVA's servers and programs looking for any traces of VIKI

The gunner of the first vehicle was looking out from his smart binoculars at the valley.


"Platoon commander says that once we start scouting on foot, if you see anything move, report to him immediately." one of the Navy Seals said to the three.

"You say that again and you might not survive this whole ride."

"Do you believe that they can be defeated?" The officer asked.

"Hey, there's a village up ahead." The gunner of the humvee said.


Volski took the microphone. "We are approaching the first town. We are going to e getting out of the vehicles soon so get ready."


His message was heard inside the other two vehicles

"I know they can. Even if there is no, chance I will not let this world fail; even if I have to kill everyone from that planet."

"That base is impossible to enter. According to reports, there is only one way in and one way out, and it is impossible to even get half way up the hill alone. Whatever they have, it is able to seek out anything. It must be some kind of creature from their world."


"The Kingdom's vassal's have also attempted one man infiltration but they all failed."


One of the knights looked behind to the two. "Village up ahead!" He pointed at the village that was visible.

There was no trace of VIKI by any means,there was trace of somthing else,its Programing and system was Nothing compared to any Human made Program.The head engenier would order to remove RAY,S Cables,as they would not and start Removing them.

"I thought I told you to be quiet." Ace look towards the knight. "Stop there please."

Upon hearing the gunner's voice Kayla took a look at her teammates, they noded acknowledging the message. Then she said:


"Okay newbie prepare you gun and listen to Sgt. Beckett's order, under no other circumstances you leave his side or do you fire your weapon okay?*then changed her tone to a ironic one saying* And as for the rest of you, better try not to walk in front of him"


Then some of the guys started laughing on the COM, while others continued to tease him. Akari was facing the floor while his face was all red. And Sgt. Beckett gave him slap on his back while saying:


"Don't you worry Captain, I'll keep him safe. After all he is now part of the Special Ops team. Can't have him giving us a bad reputation now, can we?"

The knight nodded. As they got closer to the village, the convoy was able to make out two UN helicopters taking off.

As they flew overhead the convoy, one of the UN soldiers manning an M4 browning machine gun stared at the convoy

The helicopters continued to fly in the opposite direction of the convoy.

The high ranked officers looked at Kayla before readying their guns.


"The private is to not fire his weapon unless SAS major Herman says to. He is the best sniper shot in europe and one of the top three best in the world. He'll tell you more."


The vehicles soon stopped. The special forces platoon members all came out of the vehicles. They all had the same armour on as they checked their ammunition and equipment. They stopped in front of the town. Most of the villagers were frightened as some ran away and others fled into buildings.

Ace glared at the helicopter. "Stop the convoy. If you have any ranged weapons fire them, I don't care if they didn't attacked. They wouldn't just walk away from us. Princess, come with me please the village isn't a far walk." He grabbed his sword as reached out for the Princess's hand.

"We don't have any bows or arrows. Just swords and spears." The knight said.


The helicopters were now dots behind them as their speed stunned the entire convoy.


"So, that's the armoured bird?" The princess asked.


"No your majesty, the armoured birds flight much higher. Higher than our dragons legions can fly." The knight said guiding her.

Ace stepped away from them and bent down and listened carefully. "Are you guys prepared to fight?" He paused to listen again. "I am certain our enemies lay in that village right now. If we can kill all of them but one, we can send one of you knights back so the Emperor can interrogate him. I would do it, but I have no right on this mission."

She left the COM open so all those who laughed at Akari could hear:


"With all due respect sir, even though we call him a greenhorn, that only applies as he is the newest member of MY team. That does not mean he's a loose cannon or has no combat experience. I wouldn't picked him to join me in this mission if that were the case. So rest assured, even though he has that dumb look on his face he still is a fine soldier. What he lacks from other soldiers here is only the fact that he didn't fight THIS enemy before." she takes a look at the surroundings and continues:


"Now with your permission, I would like to send those two up there into a sniping position, to cover our backs once we enter the village." She points to a nearby hill near the village.

A group of soldiers ran back to Ace. "There's nothing. Those things did not leave anything."


"There's a tavern here. Perhaps the people in there will know of something." One of the soldiers said.


"That's a good idea. We should question some of the villagers here." The officer said.
