Your squad is making its way through a city saving civilians and killing aliens. You finish a group of aliens and everything goes silent and then a blood curling screem is heard, then the cry of an animal. You make your way to the sound. There's a corpse on the ground. It's a dead human. You walk past it, then it starts twitching and gets up. It attack and kills your buddy. A Chrysalid enters the area and with its claws it kills another buddy and does something to it. You try fighting the monster then your buddy gets up. You look at him then realize he's practically a zombie. Several minutes later his skin peels of and revels a Chrysalid. It's full size! You scream then it charges your position. Everything goes black. (That is why Chrysalids are scary. In the form of a story.)

Chrysalid's aren't that scary. I already went through the whole XCOM thing earlier here. My Dream Team was shrekking the competition.

You and 3 others are defending the area from the Reapers. This is easy. You think to yourself. The Reaper ground forces are dumb and easy to kill. Your just about to finish up. A scream cuts across the battlefield. A new reaper type that you haven't seen before enters the field. It's the robozombied remains of an alien race known as the Asari. It's levitating body turns and looks at you with a slasher smile. It does a short range teleport making its way to you. It teleports a few feet, then another, and another. You keep firing hoping to kill. It just won't die. As it makes its way to you it occasionally tosses a wave of biotic energy that makes your life fade away. It gets closer and closer and you are weaker and weaker. Eventually it's right in front of you. It pics you up then impales you on its spikey hands and everything goes black. (And that is why Banshees are scary in the form of a story.)
