    ~Haugr Forest: Camp~

    Roy's CS File

Roland spent the afternoon yesterday, and all day today preparing for the mission this evening. Old but sturdy toolbelts repurposed, leather plating under his clothes, and hammers. He even had a harness on that would support his Big Hammer. Perhaps Roy would look weird to others, but given how mystical and whimsical other members of the Gazers appeared, the smith didn’t worry too much. As the important folk from the guild gave their spiel, Roland did a final check of his equipment. Satisfied and absorbed that there is an additional nest in the forest, Roland stared off into the trees, appreciating the last rays of the dusk-bound sun.

It didn’t take but a moment for Roy’s peaceful appreciation of nature to end as the flippant Fey started her needy yelling. Roland already knew he’d be teaming with Minvera, for familiarity’s sake if nothing else, But he also thought there might be an ache in his head but the night’s end.

As Minerva threw a verbal jab at Roy, he couldn’t help but raise a brow and smirk. “Mine back in Dohr, but I brought yours if you need it.” Resting a hand on his waist, Roy hoisted his hammer onto his shoulder. “You know, for when you cry about not having a harem that is.”

Looking back to the forest once more, it wasn’t lost on Roy that people were bad-talking someone, but rumors were worth less than vomit. Gossip was annoying at best, but near venomous at worse. Roland’s judgment would wait until he could interact with anyone.

“So, Get-on-my-last-Nerva, I guess you’re gonna be the team navigator since you’re so keen on directions?” Half attentively, Roy was lighting a lantern on his hip, aiming his question so Minerva would have to give a more forward answer on her role in the team.

    I Found || Nettie's CS File

His eyes were immediately drawn to the paths. He’d been around Haugr before but he’d had little reason to explore the forest. It was close enough to Civilization that for the most part archeologist drained it dry. This only proved that nothing stayed stagnant, just because it wasn’t a problem before didn’t mean it couldn’t become one. It reminded him of how his own home country felt fine playing with the powder keg that was war.

War was horrible on all fronts. Being osted from Dhor only proved that after he’s seen destroyed country after destroyed country with Dhor’s greed written all over it. He hoped to the gods that this wasn’t another case of that. This was still Yggdrasil, and he’d like to think he picked a good place to relocate to. He pulled his own cloak tighter as the campsite sent a warmth their way with the winds directing the flames closer to him.

    “Aya, Ama-”

    “ATTENTION. ABOUT FACE.”

Before he could finish his thought he found himself spinning around at the tone far to used to following the head archeologists whims. The debrief was… less than ideal. So they already were too divided then? He let out a sigh at the idea of having to include another group in their strategy, especially on how to use the equipment they gained for capturing Satpines. He straight up ignored the ‘peanut gallery’, there were too many reasons for potential infighting to calculate. Even mere greed could be behind it as they were seemingly from another branch.

“Should we just function as we planned? Or attempt to pull another group or someone who’s yet to decide?”

Seeing as one group seemed to already be claiming a path he figured they should act fast if they wanted to pick who it was they would be working with… if they wanted to add anyone on in the first place. Unless Razul was going to just join the group he was interacting with prior now that his groupies were suspended. He absent mindedly fittled with the magical crystal at his neck out of a nervous habit.

“Actually, we should nab a path quickly and decide the rest later.”

String Theocracy || Lule's CS File

The glow of the forest plants drew her like a moth to the flame. Even without full nightfall the place was beautiful. She hadn’t seen many places like it. Though it might have been the fact that she had been found so soon by Sol and they’d settled down faster than she really wanted to. Applying to be a Gazer was just the first step to taking a bit of freedom back… Plus she’d found Razul again. So she needed to do everything she could to impress him and get closer to her little puppy crush.

She felt the magic leaking off her as she got more and more excited. Her naginata kept patting her back rhymatically from its strapped position as she rolled from tiptoes back to the balls of her feet and back again. If she were a were with a tail it’d be whipping back and forth. She threw her arms out and did a twirl.

“Whoa, guys its so cool! We gotta come here more often when we clear it! Are those flowers, GLOWING. Why isn’t this place more popular? ESMA, ILARIA! You should join us too we can all picnic out here!”

She shouted to the sisters who’d seemed to have joined another group following their late arrival. If it wasn’t for Leader Yun-seo’s cryptic timeline she’d revisit the idea of them all becoming one large strikeforce. Though if she needed to go were and accidentally knocked someone out because they had to be packed like sardines it’d be harder to get it done in time.

She didn’t have long to think about it or plan as immediately she was interrupted by the officers making themselves known for the debriefing. She instantly held herself in a more serious position drawing her arms in and angling her body at officer Hanuel. Proprietary may suck but it was part of her childhood. She stood tense until the debrief ended. Slowly the tension bleed out of her stance once more as she threw her hands on her hips facing her group once more.

“GUYS. Lets go Northwest! Sol, Boss look at how prettttty.”

She figured she’d they’d want a reason or such but instead of let them know that she basically aimed for the most glowy route she spun on her heels to face the sisters once more pointing at them with her left hand, her index finger out and her thumb parallel like a separation.

“Betcha our group clears out our path first! Losing team gets to do allllll the cooking for the picnic!”

Maldarius | Askrvior | Haugr Forest

The hand he outstretched to flick her ear however, wasn't an opportunity to pass up. Pay back for elbowing him yesterday, and also for nearly saying the word: 'harem' again. His presence revealed when he couldn't help but snort at Roy's returned barb, hearing it as he neared.

"I'd hope not." He replied to Roy's question. "We'd be lost and never reach our end goal by sundown" he said with a smirk. Granted with only a few paths it was unlikely of such even happening. Still though, he had to get some fun in while he could.

From a distance he watched Hanuel send the Berrk Branch members flying.

In a way, she reminded him of his formerly betrothed. Spunky, loud- but not as fiercely demanding or as arrogant.

A slow exhale- thinking about her was the opposite of getting into the combative mindset for what they were here to do. He turned- felt the pulse of magic in the forest around them, and decided to abstain from indulging. Not like it would do him any good in the moment- not yet at least. It was better to hold off his tricks for when they were necessary. Instead he turned his attention to the sisters-- twins? He didn't really recall in all honesty if they said they had been- they didn't look it but who knew with how odd genetics could be and all that nonsense.

It was when Lule, one of Razul's fans moved in to engage the sisters that he turned his attention instead to their surroundings. Paying attention with only a pinch of interest to what was being said unlike when the two had been explaining their own capabilities- depending on how far that'd even gotten.

However at the suggestion of a race- Maldar turned his attention back on to the Werefolk with a confident little smile.

"HO HO! A bet so soon?" he said, circling the Were-girl. "I like it!" He attested with amusement. A bet to start the first mission was very much the tradition of those who valued the Value of Strength. This one- he liked her. Good impression thus far. Especially since he barely could recall her name- something he knew needed correcting. "I'll make a dish for you personally then, on the slim chance your team does beat us in clearing the nest first." He countered.

In reality, he hoped he didn't have to. He could cook but if she requested anything outside of his realm of understanding- he'd hate the task as a whole. His cooking skills were average- above average at best. Compared to his caste he was practically a Five Star Chef when most didn't bother learning to cook when you could have servants or staff do it for you.

Honestly- this 'picnic' thing sounded quite boring. But now that he said it, he HAD TO participate. A Creed was as good as the word they put down in the manner they meant it in- and if it was A CHALLENGE, then by the burning rings of the Underworld, he'd give this one a show for sure. He liked to stick to his word as best he could. So now that he'd said he'd participate it was done, and now that he said he'd cook her a meal- it was sealed. But he didn't think about that- that was a problem for Future Maldar- a problem he doubted sorely would ever come up.

Yet was not foolish enough to expect an easy win. "Your name?" He stated, but his tone made it sound more like a command as he spoke to Lule. He vaguely recalled seeing her with Razul- but since that altercation with the Charming Prince, he'd avoided approaching in the past out of the sheer sake of wanting to avoid the ire of 'his' fans. "What direction are we taking, Min?" Maldar demanded, glancing briefly at the lantern that Roy had lit up- he turned his attention back to the Fae and with a snap of his fingers-- manifested a ball of fire in his palm. Then turning his attention back to Lule he grinned- his fangs displaying peculiar in the rows of his teeth as his smile widened, as if in minor taunt.

There was that Pride showing, but luckily for them, he wasn't a servant to the trait. Else the taunt might've crossed a line too far.

Soleil stood amongst the flock as her peers gathered in a well-established camp, the more experienced Gazers ignoring the fledglings in their midst. As the princess crowed about the beauty of the upcoming forest, she was systematically checking that each of her shuriken was easy to reach in preparation for the day. Pulling one out, she ran a finger along the flat of the blade, shifting the edge to catch the sunlight. She needed to focus. Though she had enjoyed herself last night, she’d spent far too much of it admiring the--

“ATTENTION. ABOUT FACE.”

Only her training kept her from slicing her finger when she jumped, instead, her grip shifted to throw as she spun to the voice before registering the order. The fiery leader from before approached followed by Sang-Hun and what must have been another branch, though Soleil disliked her ignorance of them. Stowing the blade away, she neared the others for the debriefing.

Almost immediately, she disliked the quantifier if their intel was good. This close to Yggdrasil, surely they’d be sure. Especially with small fries such as these. Noting it, she focused on what she now knew was the Bekkr Branch. Immediately, she wondered how much overlap they expected between their more dangerous missions and their own. Would they have to account for them too? She memorized their faces, noting who seemed more serious or laidback automatically as Hanuel continued.

Perhaps the extra nest was the reason for the caveat. As they’d given the northern nest to the remedial quartet, it likely was new to form. Still, a difference in a day was worrisome. What else would they find in this real life and thus ever-changing situation?

An overview of the satpines was appreciated, even if most of it she knew. She wondered if those in the branches could be viewed from above. And them keeping the perimeter was a relief. Sang-hun ended with an offer of training (what would that entail?) then walked over. More interesting was the gossip following in his wake, igniting new questions about their guild leader.

The princess’s excited (and extremely quick) decision cut any thoughts of following immediately. Was she serious about the picnic? Soleil knew Luljeta was about her competitive streak, but surely for all the forest’s strange beauty (which Soleil supposed it was, for lacking the sun’s glow), she would not want to picnic here? Did she not hear the other branch was preventing stronger NVs from attacking?

The desire to clarify, correct, even question burned in her throat. But she swallowed it back down with difficulty. Not only was Luljeta still (and always) her princess, but she knew of the other’s opinion of her. That she could not take a joke or smothered any spark of fun. She could even recognize the truth of it. But she wished to follow in the Princess’s tailwind, to fit in. Her eyes began to drift toward the Duchess’s daughter before she returned them to the royal were.

Who had pulled the attention of that twisted. She knew that the sacrifices were in the past, but still Sol was wary. If it was Luljeta, she always would be. Still, she trusted the sisters, had since the two of them had been accepted into their dance troupe. If something were to go wrong (as unlikely as that would be, Maldarius was unlikely to go berserk in the midst of the camp.) they would aid her until Sol reached her. It was difficult to trust the Golden Fleece was safe, but her curiosity was drawing her to learn more about the mystery of Sang-hun like a raven to glitter. She stayed where she was for now, but one’s pull would succeed. Her gaze flicked to Angelica and Emmi, the two who were inseparable it seemed last night, wondering what they would do.

Keep Your Faith || Hanuel's Info

Once the offenders had cleared out it was clear to see she had forgotten a fair few issues. The first being that she’d accidentally forgotten that a few had yet to grab groups. She refused to accept that it was her job to deal with this butttt she was the one who had left out information about the remedial course leading to this whole shuffling problem in the first place. She glanced back over to the ones who had yet to join a team.

With exaggeratedly heavy footsteps that left the click clack of her heeled boots audible for all to hear she strutted up beside Reze. She almost threw an arm over his shoulders but she didn’t know how he’d take such a move and didn’t want to accidentally take away potential groups should he react volatile to it. Instead she pivoted herself to face the developing groups discussing which path to take.

“ALRIGHT GROUPS. One last thing. No stragglers.”

She pointed behind her at the others.

“See these guys, they need groups. Come collect yourself some more members. Reze here’s a Were which might be helpful especially to some of you fools with terrible team comps that I see wasting magic already.”

She turned back to Reze with a nod of her head.

“Knock ‘em dead Wolfy, remember if you stragglers don’t get a group you’ll be running the remedial course with me and the quartet.”

VEGA
𓆩❀𓆪
Vega yawned a wide, toothy yawn that went on for far too long until he used his hand to stifle it. His eyes were half-lidded against the sights of the forest camp. Tired... Het let his gaze wander around the camp. Seemed to him like a whole lot of effort for what was amounting to no more than a mere extermination mission... His ears flattened in distaste. So far his glorious campaign was not so glorious after all.

"Huh?.." Vega paused and inclined his head to Nettie, ears perking at the brief mention of a change of plan. He wondered half-heartedly to himself, Had their plans changed? Wait... Did they have a plan to begin with?! The momentary shock of this revelation passed as Vega reconciled with the notion that he probably had been involved in the planning of this incursion, but had been too distracted to listen.

Breaking in to interject with a thumb jammed into his own bare chest, Vega declared his intentions,

"Say, tzocoton, whatever ya' think's best, yeah? You lead, I follow.""

Amaris Evenwood

Everything was going perfectly so far. After a nice lunch together the previous day, Amaris and others from his team had gone to pick up supplies for their great Satpine capture. Despite it being for mission-related reasons, it seemed like a social call still, since he was able to catch up with Ayame as well as chat with the others. Comrades who were friends really were the best, it seemed. When they reached the lab, upon hearing their plan, Julia was more than thrilled. The eccentric woman gleefully went around collecting equipment they would need, could possibly need, and would definitely not need unless the world flipped upside down. Better safe than sorry, she believed, a sentiment which Amaris shared. Maria, the scientist's Twisted daughter also made an appearance to greet all the newcomers. She happily chatted with them and the familiar faces alike.

Once their preparations was done, Amaris waved goodbye to the others and returned to his duties as a lab assistant. A few hours were lost playing with Maria and talking about what it would be like when they returned with a Satpine in tow the next day. Her tone had just as much as excitement as the merfolk's own.

Eventually, night came and went, as did the following day. Soon enough, it was time to head out to their destination. Amaris made sure to carry all of their newly procured equipment, carrying it along with his own weight using his wind magic. It took a little more concentration, but it wasn't anything too arduous for a creator. As he arrived at the destination, his mind was buzzing with how they would implement their plan, so much so that he turned a full second later than everyone else when called to attention. So they would need to add a few more to their group possibly? That was no problem at all! If anything, it was more hands for wrangling a Satpine!

Amaris's gaze shifted to the whispers around them after the officer took his leave. His cheerful and excitable demeanor fell a little. He might not have been the most socially aware, but these kinds of whispers were familiar to him. He eyed the tent the officer had gone into. Well, training was a well enough excuse, he figured, and some extra tips certainly couldn't hurt.

Before that though, he needed to straighten things out with his team. Nettuno and Vega had already gathered and started the conversation. Amaris floated over to them and allowed the supplies to land softly on the ground.

"Hmm... you suggest picking a path first?" he asked, looking to the shorter of the two. "Are they all that different? Would one be safer or easier to traverse than the others?" He would leave that decision to the others. Perhaps they had a better eye for nature or were more familiar with these woods. "Before we set off though, I do think we should make sure everyone's on the same page, at least if we grab any newcomers. And we should have our preparations complete." Spontaneity with ideas was great, but execution needed proper planning.

He noticed the cloak wrapped around Nettuno as well as the fidgeting. It took him a moment to comprehend, as like Vega, Amaris was also practically bare-chested in the crisp air. "Are you cold?" he asked. "Julia packed us some jackets in the supplies." He motioned over to one of the bags he set down. "Everyone else, please feel free to grab anything you may need as well! I also packed some snacks! The ones in jars of saltwater are for me, but feel free to try some if you guys want as well!" He gave a smile, although he had a feeling that his offer would be politely refused by most.

"Um... I actually wanted to talk to Officer Sang-hun for a second as well," he said. "I... may or may not have barely made it through the more combat-oriented coursework." He gave a sheepish chuckle. "I'm lucky to have you all on side, but I want to be as prepared as possible as to not hold you back." He stood quietly for a moment before adding on a quick, "be right back!" And floating off.

When he made it to the tent's entrance, he raised a hand to knock before realizing that wouldn't work as he intented. Instead, Amaris just announced his presence with an, "excuse me, Officer Sang-hun?" and stepped in.

Karv

Karv had spent the majority of his time getting provisions together, he knew that the guild would take care of a majority of the daily needs such as a sleeping location, most food and drink… but he thought of the others and considering his rather large stomach he was set on bringing his own ‘snacks’. By the time they were assembled he had a rather stuffed knapsack full of various jerky, sugary snacks and attached to his back a whole ham, weighing nearly 8 kilos.

Looking to the rest of his group, he overheard what was being said by a member of the other branch. There was only one person among them that he knew went berserk… and only one that likely ate as much. Rolling his shoulders back, Karv pivoted and looked at the one speaking. “Considering you aren’t a monster, I would wager you’d be fine if we are blessed with a full exposure. But uhh, if you got food you ain’t going to eat, and you are looking for brownie points with some random bear, you know where you can get brownie points from a random bear… This dude right here.” Karv pointed to himself before looking back to Profaner and Nyx.

“Alright, so, are you both ready for us to head into the forest? Make sure you’ve got anything you want, I don’t expect us to be back for a few hours. Don’t worry about food, I packed extra, and we can rip pieces off this ham as we go.” He gestured to the ham on his back. “It's been smoked and fully heated, so I just plan to rip pieces off as I go, and I recommend you do so.”. Karv grunted as he began to shift, fur growing on himself as his jaw distended. The following transformation was likely common place for most of the guild members, but Karv did grow significantly during it. Raising his arms, he bent forward and backward to stretch his body out, "Remember what we discussed yesterday? I think the three of us can get this done relatively quickly."

Profaner
cqc1.5.jpg
In lieu of preparing herself, Profaner had instead been possessed with nerves. Despite her show of stoicism, doubt bubbled beneath her skin. Not in regards to the mission, as Karv had implied, the Saptines' only future was slaughter, she was sure enough of that. But she couldn't shake the feeling that there was going to be a catch. Some final test, obscured from sight. One that she'd fail, and one that would have her cast out of the Guild.

What would she even do, then? Return to a life of purposeless wandering?

She couldn't stomach the thought.

She was glad, at least, that they were to ship off in the evening. She had an affinity for it, that time during which the world shifted from day to night. Birds nested, whilst insects emerged from their burrows and took to the air. Crickets chirped from deeper within the woods, and the sun bathed the landscape with a warm, golden hue. It reminded her of a lot of things, and while not all of them were pleasant, the sight provided her with some comfort. It was the end of a day, the end of a thing, and by the way of the Cycles, that meant there was no better time for her to be beginning something new.

"Understood." A terse, stiffly spoken response was the most she could spit out in response to Karv's rambling. She'd do as she was told, plain and simple. "But I would like to suggest that we claim one of those 'stragglers'."

Profaner eyed the one that Haneul had called 'Wolfy'. As sure as Profaner was in the strength of her allies, she was no fool. There was even greater strength in numbers.

"That one has a useful look. Even if we do not need it, there is no harm in stacking things further in our favour. But I will leave the choice to you two."

Naturally.

Kiba Ayame

Along with most of the guild members, Ayame stood nearby one of the many campfires to keep warm. The cold air rustled against the white fur of her tails, sending a slight shiver down her spine. She folded her arms over her chest as she looked around, wondering why their mission had to be carried out after sunset. Not only would they have to deal with the threat of monsters in the area but they would also have to worry about the cold temperatures. She didn’t mind the current conditions but others like Nettuno who lacked proper insulation would be at risk.

Shortly after, the officers grabbed the attention of the entire campsite, calling for the members to circle up for a proper debrief. Ayame shuffled over while sticking close to her own group, focusing on Hanuel as she led the debrief. Five trails: East, Northeast, North, Northwest, and West. Considering Hanuel stated that she would be leading a group North, that option was already off the table for their group. Her ear twitched slightly as both Luljeta and Minerva claimed their routes rather loudly, leaving only two trails to choose from.

Amaris did bring up a good question: were the trails different? If each path contained a Satpine nest, the habitat wouldn’t be different from the others. “I don’t think we should worry too much about picking between two trails, I doubt there’s a correct answer — and if there is then…” she shrugged, turning her body to face towards the Northeastern path. “I suggest Northeast if no one else cares — we could pick up one more straggler to even out the group but I think five is enough.”

Her attention shifted back over to Amaris who addressed the supplies that were brought. Reliable as always, at least freezing and starving were two fewer things they would have to worry about tonight. “Don’t take too long,” she called out to her merfolk companion as she watched him float towards the First Aid tent.

Turning back to the rest of their group, she looked over Vega, then Andalish, and then Nettuno — the height differences were incredibly amusing. “Well, while we wait for Amaris we could discuss a traveling formation? I could lead or possibly scout ahead, it’s best to have Amaris and Nettuno in the middle of the pack with Vega bringing up the rear.” Her gaze flicked over to Andalish, “Andalish, you could either support me at the front or prioritize protecting Amaris and Nettuno. Whichever you prefer is fine with me.”

Reaching for the pouch that was tied to her waist, she carefully retrieved a dried stem — one that Nettuno was familiar with — and began to chew on it casually. “Of course, I’m open to other suggestions.”

47BD5A3F-BFB9-45A2-B36C-539B48B032BB.jpegTwo Weres, a Genie, two humans, and a shaper. Out of the group, only one did Angelica have a real problem joining them but she wasn’t on her manor and couldn’t just kick him out. At least she was able to show her distaste to the noisy, brainless women by rescinding her invitation to the Red Palace to them right when they got to the door. Having watched Luljeta react to Razul, she realized she shouldn’t do the same to the human glitter. Besides, Lul likely would have invited him inside anyway. Angelica recognized Lul soon enough as one of the Red Palace staff.
The night was fun. They discussed personal matters but also plans for the next evening. Soleil offered to Scout, which felt like a good fit since she could fly. Angelica offered to buff Luljeta while the inertia Were took front. Angelica promised she’d protect their sides and pick off any that got too close. The current group had no magic-eaters so they didn’t have to worry about that. Thank the Gods.

Angelica looked over at the Phoenix, “Hey Soleil, since you’re scouting ahead, and you use fire, would you be able to handle some of the ranged fighting we’ll likely need to do?”
Soleil blinked, blaming her rising blush on the alcohol. Thankful the question was easily answered she replied, "Of course. I specialize with shuriken and use wind as well. I'm admittedly best ranged." She ran a feathered had through her hair bashfully. She knew it was something she needed to work on. Most of her close range strength came from fire, which she'd have to use sparingly in the forest.

“Perfect!” Angelica clasped her hands together as her tail and ears perked up in response, “then we’ll have ranged and close combat covered. I think we’ll make a great team~”

The phoenix’s face felt like it was burning. She had to resist the temptation to touch it just to make sure. “We do seem well balanced.” At least her voice came out evenly. “Even if we have more shapers.” She had noticed the were’s distaste for one of them. (And enjoyment of another.)

Angelica took a sip of the wine Yuria had gifted, “I think it works out. No one’s getting their magic eaten and we have plenty of options to get us out of a pinch.” She had an issue with her magic being chomped on by magic-hungry monsters. Like, hello! Consent?!

Soleil barely blinked at the take on twisted, though it kept her from mentioning one could fully balance their group. She was fine working as a scout, but she’d never manage full stealth, since the NVs were likely to find her tasty. Instead, she merely nodded, covering her delay with a sip of her own wine. “Indeed. We should be well prepared for tomorrow.”

~*~
Angelica had run through her closet, looking for the best type of outfit for an evening in the forest. Being from Ciuma, she had a higher tolerance to the cold than those who were from around Yggdrasil, but that didn’t always mean the whole country was that way, and she’d never been to Haugr Forest. The tigress opted for layers— just so she could remove any if she got too warm.

The campsite was… in a nicer way to put it— grotesque. Everything looked shoddy and quickly put together. A well placed magic-induced wind could likely knock a bunch of tents over. She’d felt like she had seen nicer setups. There was the fragrance of a hot meal wafting through the campsite— that much she could agree at least smelled nice.

Hanuel said:
ATTENTION. ABOUT FACE.

Angelica looked over as the fiery woman made her announcements.

In the end, it seemed the scrolls didn’t actually matter besides giving information. Good to note for future missions. With the lack of information truly given, it was as though they truly were told to learn through experience. Given the nature of the Guild, it shouldn’t be surprising. If most missions were based on scouts and requests, there was likely to be unreliable information.

The group of whisperers were from a different Branch? The vibe they carried were a slightly different compared to their Askrvior Branch. How different was each branch anyway? Whatever the half-giant meant, Angelica couldn’t help but agree. She learned what men in charge could do to a country—
Angelica pulled her brawler claws over her hands, flexing her fingers to get them adjusted to the metal resistance.

Luljeta’s excitement grabbed Angelica’s gaze as she turned to watch the Weresheep twirl. She smiled, “I wonder if the flowers still glow after being picked? I can see about bringing a bouquet back with us.

Her attention was torn away as Hanuel yelled at the gossipers. With that, it seemed they were broken off and could get back to their final preparations.

Luljeta said:
“GUYS. Lets go Northwest! Sol, Boss look at how prettttty.

Northwest is fine by me. With none of us really know thing this forest, it’s not like one will be knowingly better than another.
The idea of competition made Angelica’s ears twitch.

Looking at who Luljeta extended the competition too, she spotted the known Twisted. With her ears folding back, her nose crinkled, “Ew.

Hanuel called for the group one last time, announcing no stragglers. Their group was big enough, she felt, so she ignored the announcement.

Angelica flicked her tail and took a step towards the chosen Northwest path, “Well, let’s get a move on then if you want to win your own challenge.

Amaris and Sang-hun
Collab with: Anne Boolean Anne Boolean

With a chug of the drink in hand, Sang-hun turned around when he heard he was addressed.

“Amaris? What’s up? Taking me up on that offer?” A smirk crossed his face as he set his drink down on a table next to him.

The merman gave a small smile to the other. “Ah, yes. I figure any extra help would be good for me. The combat-oriented lessons were the more difficult ones for me.” His eyes drifted to the floor. “Erm… I’m sorry… they really shouldn’t be talking about you like that.” He looked back up to meet the other’s gaze. Hopefully saying that wasn’t out of line.

Sang-hun gave a slight shoulder shrug, “I’m used to it. They just don’t understand that I’m awesome. People will sometimes ridicule things they fear.”

The response brought a smile to Amaris’s face. It was nice to see him being so positive, despite the apparently frequent mistreatment. His brother still took the occasional comment he got pretty hard, but he was younger. Hopefully he would have an easier time taking it in stride as he grew older.

The officer chuckled, “Anyways, I know everyone’s wanting to go soon, so we can be quick. Follow me outside— the nurse will kill me if I ruin her setup here.” The nurse looked up from her task when she heard him bring her up, “Worse than that boy.” Tossing a smile over his shoulder at the nurse, Sang took a step around Amaris and opened the tent flap, motioning for the Merfolk to follow him around the side.

The response from the woman earned a chuckle from the merman. He turned back to Sang-hun and floated after him out of the tent.

“We can take 5 minutes I think— what do you want to focus on? Defense? Offense?”

“Hmm…” What would be more useful for capturing one of them? Offense? Or maybe a defensive perimeter could be used to trap them. “Well, they’re always in groups, right? I think maybe my best option, at least to start off, would be to separate one. That way, I can start easy and fight one on one before taking on larger groups.”

Sang nodded, “Not a bad idea. You’ll have a group with you to worry about the larger numbers. Don’t let one take you deeper in—“ the officer started to circle Amaris, slowly. “Don’t run away either. Don’t let them behind you.” He rushed his arms up as ice materialized from the ground up to encase Amaris’ tail.

Despite having his eyes on Sang, the ice reaching up to grab his tail still caught Amaris by surprise. His eyes widened slightly and he let out a gasp. Would those little creatures be this fast?

“So keep my eyes on them at all times… never turn my back to one.” He moved his own arms to try and dispel the ice, aiming to move it to encase Sang’s feet. “Would immobilizing them be an effective strategy?”

Sang went to move a foot, but the ice made him unable to do so. Due to being off balance, he fell backwards, but being flexible, he put his hands on the ground to catch himself. “Absolutely. If you aim for immobilization, make sure that you get their spines.” Steam surrounded Sang’s legs before fire erupted out, letting his feet free, using the momentum to aim a slower kick towards Amaris that would ideally flip Sang back upright. “I don’t have spines to prove a point here.”

Amaris’s eyes once again widened as the guy started falling backwards. They may have gotten into impromptu sparring, but he would have liked to avoid any potential injuries, especially to his superior. Thankfully, Sang was able to catch himself.

“Right, spines…” Freezing the legs wouldn’t be enough. Even if the other didn’t have spines of his own, the oncoming kick could easily take their place. Amaris quickly sent a gust of wind towards the other as the flip kick came. Hopefully it would be strong enough to push him back far enough that Amaris wouldn’t receive a boot to the jaw.

The gust of wind was enough to push the trajectory off course, and Amaris was missed. All the better, since Sang didn’t intend to use full force and the other needed to be full strength for his mission.

Back on his feet, Sang put his hands up. “I’m limiting how long we train before the mission for a few reasons. Monsters feed on magic, and I don’t want you exhausted before even starting. Go onto the tent and grab a couple of elixirs for your group. Don’t make a lot of noise if you can help it when you’re in there. Never know when an NV gets created.”

He clapped Amaris gently on the shoulder, “I think you’ll do fine. You have your strengths and everyone has a weakness. We form groups for a reason. Go catch your monster.”

Amaris let out a small sigh of relief as the foot missed his chin. He allowed his shoulders to relax when Sang called it for the session, giving a nod to the train of thought. Aside from the magic use from combat, he could also feel his magic being siphoned slightly simply by being in the man’s presence. It was a similar feeling to when he was around his brother.

“Alright, will do,” he said with a nod, giving a small smile at the praise given to him. “Thank you, Officer Sa-” He blinked at the man’s last statement, floating silently for a moment before letting out a small chuckle. “Right.” He turned to see his group in the distance. “Thanks again. And… never forget that you’re awesome.” With that, he made his way back into the tent to grab the elixirs as instructed. With those in hand, he made his way back to his team.

Sang-hun put a hand up as a wave to Amaris before the Merfolk entered the tent. Turning towards the other tents, he looked around. “Now where is Nabi—“ Presumably finding his presumed destination, he left the First Aid tent.

Once again Emmi had spent the night prior working on new jewelry until the late hours of the early morning, this would of course once again cause her to wake up late in a panic, and rush to the meeting point just in time for the mission debriefing. It was filled with the usual boring details that she rarely pays attention to this group will do this, these people are here to do that, make sure to group up because teamwork is essential. All details just went in one ear and the other with Emmi because the only things that were running through the mind of this jeweler were the fact she had to close shop for another day, what color gem she should make her next set of rings out of. Would Angelica like the color she just thought of? How fast could she cut down these monsters with her ax? Also, did she leave the stove on? All of which ran through her head all at once. Then her group started talking about competition with the other group to see who would get done with their path the fastest.
"Well, I can't say I'm opposed to a little competition it would definitely help get this done faster and free food does sound great right about now."
Now that she thinks about it did she even eat the eggs she had cooked before leaving?

"Do not worry, I am more than prepared for our mission" replied Nyx, right hand patting away at two of his four chakrams, another pair fastened to the opposite side while his main weapon, the scimitar was slung across his back. As was customary for Nyx, he had made himself a simple meal hours before his arrival here; nothing too heavy that would hinder him in combat, yet nothing so light that he would find himself craving for more. Still facing the bear, Nyx now wearing an expression burning with resolve would once more affirm his duty to the Moon god Nesshin. "My only hunger will be satiated once we rid the monster infestation in tribute for the day Nesshin returnes" he added, taking a step forward before turning to face Profaner as she spoke.

"A straggler...?" he replied, brows now furrowing. "There must be reason as to why they have been left alone..." he added, glancing at the few that remained without a group. Sighing and holding in what he really wanted to say, Nyx would simply shake his head and motion towards the bear. "I will leave the decision to Karv."

As she followed Luljeta toward the northwest passage, Soleil took in what was happening around her. Of those who’d missed the meeting yesterday, the wolf definitely stood out. From trips to her father, she’d heard of the Janhangir tribe. Her father, powerful himself, found their philosophy of power thinning the weak idealistic, but Soleil always took after her mother, seeing the flaws in that tactic. She was aware he’d joined as a healer, but did that mindset stay? Would he not heal those he deemed weak? He could hide in sheep’s clothes all he wanted, she would not trust the change until she had proof.

She watched the teams flock along the lines of the day before, surprised at the extra supplies the others brought. Should they have brought more than weapons? She surveyed the array of bags the merman had brought. And was that a wooden box? What for? It was the size to hold a small animal...What were they going to do? Catch a satpine? The immediately humorous thought froze at the possibility of that. She knew Amaris was employed with the local research center, but surely they’d prefer dead specimens? She stepped a bit further away from that group, hoping to not be assigned with the usually perfectly intelligent man if he planned to do this for every hunt.

The transforming bear drew her attention away and to his supplies. Which seemed to be a great deal of food. More than she with her bird’s diet could manage to eat in a day. How long did they expect to be in the forest? They were not going deep enough to get lost. Even those who could not fly could climb a tree to see Yggdrasil. Soleil couldn’t decide if her group was underprepared or if everyone else was merely overprepared. She tried to scrutinize the officers’ or other branch’s response, but they seemed to do an excellent job of ignoring them.

Returning her gaze, first to check Luljeta’s wellbeing, then as it always seemed to do in the past day, to Angelica and Emmi. The former seemed fine, but the latter seemed just as tired as she had the day before. Had she not slept well the night before? As she too agreed to the competition (at least Angelica seemed to find it distasteful) Soleil blurted out a warning rather than the concern she’d be thinking of, “We shouldn’t rush into this. We do not know everything that is in this forest.” There was an awkward beat, where she lamented she did not inherit her mother’s graceful way with words, instead belting out like a mockingbird. Taking a breath, she tried to ease her bluntness with, “But you’re welcome to come to the bakery after hours. We often have extra left over.” Her ears felt like they were burning. Could they be seen through her hair? Roc, she didn’t know. She tipped her hair down, the feathery strands falling forward to cover both her ears and her face.

Minerva Morningdew

Minerva couldn't help but grin when Roland snapped back at her mention of a pacifier. The blacksmith sure was quick to jab back and that's what made him all the more fun to be around, even if she would never admit to such allowed. Though at his question of her role in the team Minerva's expression went blank. Was her role not obvious? Was this some sort of dig she had misunderstood? Clearly, Minerva was the team captain, right? RIGHT! Snaped from her thoughts by Mal and his own jesting comment Minerva's ears and wings fluttered as she moved her hands to her hips in protest "I'm clearly the leader of this rag-tag group! Besides I'm best suited to scouting and disorientation tactics! I could navigate this forest like it was nothing HMPH!".

Turning her nose up at the two men, Minerva watched with great interest as a bet was brokered between her team's two newest members and another woman, Luljeta. A Princess from another country or the like. It seemed the woman believed her team was superior to Minerva's ultra, super duper, all-mighty group of not-harem suitors! Ridiculous! Ludicrous even. audacious perhaps! Though as much as Minerva was keen for a bet, what Mal said next sealed the deal! There was no way in all the realms Minerva was ever going to allow her Mal cook for someone else with the specific intent of cooking just for them! Nuh uh! No way! It was on!

Eyes aflame with burning passion Minerva's eyes fell on the princesses and a playful yet mischievous grin formed upon her face "A bet huh, very well. You bet a picnic and Mal personal cooking. Then what say you and I bet on something more climactic! Our LIVES!" After a few seconds Minerva burst into a fit of laughter "I'm just kidding, those kind of bets are really quite boring, I mean why bet on your life when you could bet on much more! I wager a kiss! If your team wins I shall kiss a Satpine! If my team wins heh heh heh! You, princess, shall offer me a kiss upon my cheek! I'm not cruel enough to make you kiss Mal, he has terrible morning breath. What say you! Care to Double down?"

Standing proud at her ranged declaration of intent Minerva chuckled to herself "We'll be taking the Eastern path so if your group runs into too much trouble, don't be afraid to call us for help!"

Reza Shehzad“Shut up,” Reza’s sudden interjection was brusque. “The name’s Reza, not Reze, or ‘Wolfy’. I’ll break your head in if I hear that shit again.” He meant it. Even if it would result in getting his own face blown in by Hanuel, Reza had some pride in his own name and station in life, and he would not stand for this woman tacking on weird names and nicknames on him.

His glare shifted towards the three man group that were looking at his way. Two males, one with hair that reminded him of moss-coloured, the other more like black, curling seaweed, and one female, her eyes bearing deep red scleras. He stormed towards them, punching one fist into an open hand. “What the hell are you looking at, huh?” He stopped right in front of them, studying each of them, his face contorted into a scowl, his teeth bared. “You got somethin’ to say, you say it out loud. You want me in your team, you tell me straight.”

His posture relaxed, just a little, as he thumbed his nose, then thumped his fist upon his chest, and with the highest amount of pride in his work and name, announced himself, “Name’s Reza Shehzad, best healer this darn guild’s ever gonna get! I’d say ‘nice to meetcha’, but I ain’t in the habit of lyin’!”[/h]

It was oddly quiet, after seeing the girls off. Razul never understood what exactly possessed them to act so... well... possessive, but their constant bickering kept his mind occupied. Without them, thoughts set in. He splashed his face lightly upon a bucket of water, using the reflection to stare himself in the face. Did his hair look right? Was the headpiece in place? Razul looked down at his chest, brushing over it with a hand. It wasn't obvious—at least to everyone save for a select couple...

Having attended the briefing not too long ago, Razul knew he had to get going soon. The other group of girls (and Yuria) awaited him, and so did his princely persona. Walking through the dispersing crowds, the confident smile slowly formed, and his posture straightened. A head turn to the side, and sparkles emanated from his gold-laced accessories. Whatever people remained practically stepped aside just for the walking glitter.

He spotted his group where the princess still fraternized with one of the other groups. In his time of thought, he'd grown curious as to why a royal princess was here of all places. Based on her reaction when he followed the scripted pleasantries, he made a mental note to be more conspicuous with that fact... but he still had questions; questions that would have to wait. Notably among the other group was... Maldarius... Taking a breath, Razul braced himself to go anywhere near that scoundrel.

He butt in just as the other man asked for Lule's name, appearing in an instant between them. His billowing cape, shining golden from the inside, followed after him. Though he looked on with the usual smile, Razul's eyes took on more of a glare. "You heard the lady. Now that this is a race, we haven't the time to converse with the likes of you." He turned towards Lule. "What the lovely Angelica said. If Northwest is our path, then Northwest we shall go!" Without a moment's hesitation, he took Lule's hand with a playful giggle. "I will lead the way, my dear lady!"

Razul made off with the princess in hand, only stopping momentarily to chip in Sol's concern. "It is natural to be wary." Hand on her arm for reassurance. Just like the fairytales. "But by my side, a gorgeous maiden such as yourself will not need to fret." He offered the smile that always made his usual entourage cry out, angled perfectly in the sunlight and making his headpiece glimmer blindingly.

He and the princess took to the front after that, getting an early head start for Lule's own race.

Andalish
de2a329c3c4c7ebb52bb681cd752d62d.jpg

Andalish loved the warm embrace of the fire piercing through the back of his fur-trimmed coat, mixed with the chilling breeze caressing the front of his person. This sensation brought on a pure focus from Andalish as he mixed his herbs and plants for the mission. His process was painstakingly accurate down to the centimeter, although this time focus was interrupted by Hanuel's call, which caused him to mess up his measurement just as he was about to mix two substances. The mixture caused a small explosion that enveloped Andalish's face,"Hmmmm....I'm gonna be a beautiful corpse at least...,"The young man chuckled at his untimely demise until an idea sparked him into action,"Unless....," He swiftly pulled a pair of green leaves with red dots and immediately began to chew them.

Andalish quickly turned to the officers, but within seconds he lost consciousness. His body stiffened and it appeared as if he was completely fine. By the time he regain consciousness, the debrief was over and he was waking to the sound of Ayame's voice a bit of foam around his mouth. While wiping the foam away from his mouth, Andalishflashed a lackadaisical smile at Ayame,"Well... I don't mind eitha way we head, but.... hmmm....Amaris wants ta capture a few for Dr. Julia and I have a new paralytic I concocted I wouldn't mind testing, IF yall don't mind that is." The words sauntered their way out as if the young dragon wasn't just inches away from an unknown condition.

Andalish grabbed his Scythe with his tail while he finished collecting his things. Turning his attention back to Ayame, Andalish began to gently tap his weapon on the ground," Now, speaking on the matta combat. To my understanding, Amaris isn't...the best at combat, but what about you Nettuno? I can defiantly fight and protect you both, but since I am a doctor I think it would best for me to towards the center. That way if anything happens I can run forward and grab yall or fall back to help the back line." Andalish flipped his hair as his eyes drifted to Amaris and Sang-Hun spontaneous sparring magic. From Andalish's perspective, Amaris was competent enough to protect himself but to achieve his goal of capturing a satpine the group would all need to an agreement. Andalish had created a poison that causes paralysis but he had no clue how it would affect the satpines. While pondering their situation Andalish began to plunder through Julia's equipment looking for a decent snack,"Oh...I need something to munch on! Anybody want something?"

    Roy's CS File

Roland was curious about how this group was going to mesh together. In Roy’s eyes, Minerva’s pride and seeming want for power might dull her edge. Then there’s Mal, instigating other groups like they were foes to be outshined. What should be focused on is the task at hand, but instead these two are adding more work to the table.

On one hand, Roy had heard Mal snort, that might be an opening. Openings could be used to reason and request, sometimes demand. So Roy moved to make the most of it, pivoting his body to face Mal, analyzing the taller man before walking over to him.

“You know, this is our first mission, adding more to our plate than necessary is asking for trouble,” Roy had delivered his statement with a neutral tone, making sure there was no edge to his voice. Even with words moderated, his actions still screamed as Roland reached out and grabbed Mal’s wrist “Also, Mal, you shouldn’t use magic willy-nilly. Think of the land and your stamina. We’ll need both for later."

Roland’s neutral face didn’t last long after Minera’s next little speech. Bet this, bet that. That’s not leader talk, not to Roland. Having to give up on his attempt to physically reinforce his point with Mal, never truly grabbing the man’s wrist, Roland turned to Minerva.

“You really can’t help yourself, like a pup in a room full of new things,” Roy’s works were occupied by a raised eyebrow. “Now, I know leader and navigator sound the same, but you’re not showing a leader attitude with those bets. If anything, that’s like sidekick energy. So please, settle and focus, or else I’ll show you up before you know it.” And with that, Roy became a hypocrite in the situation as he smirked at the Fey girl.

Now in the forest, Ilaria had been quiet as she considered the group, Esma and herself ended up with. It wasn't bad, if a tad lacking in familiar faces. At Minerva's inquiry, her ears twitched and she turned to the taller girl. She pursed her lips, considering her answer for a moment. "I'm good at incapacitating opponents. Esma specializes in water magic." She answered. Perhaps it was a little vague, but before she could elaborate further her ears perked up as her name was shouted by a familiar voice. Seeing the other were, she smiled at Luljeta, especially when the other girl suggested they share a picnic. "That'd be fun." She agreed softly, before blinking at the suggested challenge. A race? It was an interesting idea, though a little soon. Yet, most of the group seemed to agree? She blinked, looking between Mal and Razul, blinking owlishly. What just happened? Dismissing it, the twisted bounced over to her sister. "Ne, Essie? What do you think they'll serve at the picnic?" She asked, inclining her head to the side. Come to think of it, did they even eat before they left? She didn't remember. Ilaria acknowledged that their group was all over the place. Was there a triad-formed debate over the leadership of the group? Did their group even need to have a leader? Shaking her head, she lifted a hand to wave after Razul and Luljeta, especially since it seems the bet was on. "Good Luck Lule! Tell the rest of your team good luck for me!" She called after, fluttering her wings lightly. It was almost time to start their first meeting, how exciting!

Divergent Paths // Prologue Arc, Part 2 || Spring, April 2nd, 1000PM

  • Haugr Forest; East Path
    April 2nd, 1000 PM at 7:00 PM

Players: Minerva ( Uasal Uasal ), Roland ( Tobi Naefaerne Tobi Naefaerne ), Mal ( The Regal Rper The Regal Rper ), Esma ( AriAriAbabwa AriAriAbabwa ), Illaria ( eeuphoria eeuphoria )

Eastward they went. The path sloped downwards as they walked further in as they continued. The light cascaded through the treetops as it seemed the forestry started to get less dense on this path. What were once large, old oaks thinned out to smaller and smaller trees, some limbs having fallen over as decaying logs, blocking their path.

An increase in the area’s natural animals could be seen as things darted underneath the natural brush at the sound of the group. The squeaks of small critters came as a sign this area had not yet been fully decimated by the monsters settling in the area. Every so often littered into the sound of the wildlife came a far-off growl that those who were familiar with Satpines would recognize.

Though the area lacked any puddles or clear signs of rain, the path slowly began to become muddy, enough that anyone without proper footwear would struggle to keep steady on, steps squelching. It was clear this was a well-traversed area as the dirt had been long pounded into a natural path twisting down the way.

A foul smell filled the air, something like the smell of rotting fish. This trail would continue onward down to the Haugr Lakeside, curling around it before continuing deeper.

    * Please be advised that the twisted can use Spacial, Gravity, or Water as they can eat this off their teammates
    * Please be advised that your area specifically is not a dead zone, and it has an average amount of land magic to pull; We will note if this changes at any point

Everything was so bright. It was as if she’d looked into the sun; with every blink, she could still see the glow through her lids. How much could they trust the path? At her feet, it was smooth and safe, but the deeper they went in, the more likely obstacles would come up. Were the weres okay? She knew their eyes took in the faintest of light, so surely this glut was painful. Still, it was their ears and noses that would be their best alarm system. Would Luljeta partially shift or blind herself further? Could Angelica partial shift? Glancing toward the were, she assumed so. She seemed quite efficient.

Remembering her promise, Soleil was about to speak up to offer to scout ahead when chaos itself cried out. She wanted to follow her fleeing brethren into the air, her body tensing, but the shame of leaving her princess was enough to keep her grounded. Still tense, but wishing her sense of smell was similar to a bird’s she spoke to the shapers of the group, “I’m of air and fire. I’m fresh from my burning week, so pull from me as you’d like.” Only her training with her mother kept the fear out of her voice, though some horror leaked in. She’d never seen a dying zone, but she was determined to do everything she can to keep it from fully dying. May Kärlek protect it.

And them. She didn’t want to. Not with the obvious evidence of monsters much worse than satpines. But Soleil knew her duty and thus would not avoid it. With a strengthening breath, she wet her lips before speaking. “Perhaps it would be best for me to scout ahead,” her voice was calm, but she cursed her uncertain wording. Lighting a small orb in her palm, she continued, “You can keep track of me with this. I shall flare it if there is an issue.” Looking at the shapers, she continued, “Would one of you do the same?” Her gaze--as it had so many times in the past day--flicked to the gnome first, and lingered for a moment, before moving to the other two. Focus! She needed a distraction from her fear that supported her duty, not her crushes. As always the Golden Fleece was her guiding star, easy to see in this glowing forest. For Luljeta, she could scout ahead.

Maldarius | Haugr Forest - East | Yggdrasil

Watching Razul with an indifferent stare, under different circumstances he would have taken insult to that line of reply- instead, he merely smiled politely and wiggled his fingers in a wave goodbye as their company departed.

Roy had a point there, wasting magic foolishly was more of a detriment to him than anything else. He nodded, cutting the flame off with a wave of his hand.

"Thanks, Roy." Instead of responding to the clear jest in his direction about having bad breathe- something he personally found a bit extreme when it came to jokes- not like she would know anyway-- he turned his attention to the sisters. "If you can do that then you'll be fine as long as we coordinate our efforts."

With East chosen, they were off.

Using that flame from before had been perhaps, a bad idea perhaps. Roy's light was useful enough and his own eyes were well adjusted, he had little to truly worry about- now realizing that the little stunt he had pulled before, had been more foolish than wise.

He could feel it. An itch in the back of his head-- a pang somewhere from the center of his body that wasn't his stomache but somehow felt like it came from everywhere. If it were a voice he would imagine he'd hear it.

Feed.

Pull. Drink deep of the magic around him. Let not a drop be wasted. There were after all, three healthy bodies to take from.

Experience taught him however, that taking without asking, was a fatal sin.

The first time he'd ever taken without asking, it earned him an immediate fight with the senior brother of the noblesse he had been with. Those gatherings with others of the class were rare but they were often done to allow for mingling and interaction. Scheduled training was one of those things that had been done.

He could recall vividly how furious Luana's brother had been when he'd begun pulling and pulling, from his sister during their training match.

Right now it was fine. It was not bad, not debilitating, not exhausting, but he had noticed as they went down the incline and moved past healthier trees to the pathetic thin twigs that were surrounding them, that he was feeling a tad...peckish.

The growl of some distant creature from beyond, had Maldar stop and swivel in the direction- eyes wide, his strange pupils widening and dilating, forming a strange cross-like shape, his hair which always billowed as if carried by some strange wind, straightening and freezing as if the hair had been frozen solid.

He waited for a second- sensed no magical presence approaching- and his tensed and tight muscles, relaxed- only a little.

Again they moved on.

"Terrible time for me to be recalling lessons of the past." He muttered to himself absentmindedly. He knew going into this that they'd be facing what his people or what the citizenry called, their Fallen Cousins. And though he'd had his own share of unique experiences with the monsters that existed in their world by sheer fact of travel- he'd only had one life-threatening close encounter, where all he'd had to do- was quite frankly, stay out of the way and allow the adults to handle everything.

Yet the creatures they were facing here, were not twelve feet tall and bulking with muscle or could breathe chilling winds that froze over whatever it touched like the malformed Bear they had faced once upon a time.

"I will need to pull from you, Roy, Essie, Minerva." He stated matter-of-factly, "I will not be giving a warning when I do, I simply will just do it." His tone was blunt, but he meant well by it. "If you'd prefer, I'll feed off you now to save us the time." He offered, but in honesty it was also to stave off this nagging sensation he could feel faintly coursing through his body.

Perhaps his terminology may have also sounded a bit weird- but that was exactly what Twisted did. So he didn't try phrasing it any other way.

"Preferably now" he added as the stench of rot hit his nose with a slight grimace and furrow of the brows.
