After the Shift
The Solar System Shift brought an enormous load of panic unto the people of the Earth, and as stated many times before, caused the death of approximately ten billion citizens of the planet. While the process had taken hundreds of years to occur, the impact the SSS had on the people of Earth changed them forever and things, of course,
would never be the same. As scientists fought the SSS with new forms of technology, the governments of the world fell and it was agreed upon that no nuclear weapons were to be used ever again, resulting in the disposal of these weapons across the planet's surface, hidden in bunkers never meant to be discovered once more. As people were dying around them, the survivors of the SSS created their own safe havens to ride out the SSS, until mutations and adaptations occurred and caused the human race to be split up into thirds. While they still stayed together, some had to go to the hotter parts of the planet to survive, while others required the cold.

After several more generations of struggling to survive with what science they had, the people of Earth reached the end of the Shift and had a united government set up for the remainder of the world. A representative of each form of human was elected by the vote of the population and held public meetings in order to discuss the future of the human race. Peace reached the people, and it remained that way for decades to come. While science and medicine advanced, the people of Earth could not find a way to leave their planet and exit the solar system, not with the stronger gravitational pull of the young sun. However,
the inhabitants of the planet figured they did not need to rely on external aid or land to survive on the planet with its new circumstances, despite the numerous deaths. Cities were made, cultures created centering the sun and the now much closer moon (the Earth needed to pull it closer to make sure it stayed), rather than any celestial force that may have been. The ways of science were more reliable than those of religion, and so it was after the SSS that religion died out and science took over the world. THE END (I'm sorry I'm just tired. Enjoy the bugs.)
Discovering the Bug
After the world had finally reached a peace once the SSS ceased, the different humans of Earth were making do with what they had and found different ways to harvest energy, care for the three types of humans in the world, and overall succeed in living on the planet despite its immense alterations. Sadly, that didn't last very long. Once the bugs appeared, a panic spread amongst both groups of beings and S.C.I.N.S. were being made for all military personnel, the representatives, and anyone who could get their hands on one, which was difficult due to the high demand for them. More were being produced each and every day, but only those who had yet to show signs of infection were permitted to own a S.C.I.N. suit.

To check for infection, a manual physical exam had to be done, where a suited doctor looked over the skin of the patient's entire body in order to find any small entry wounds that could host the bug or any suspicious lumps in the skin that could also indicate the presence of the parasite. After the physical exam,
blood tests would have to be taken to further ensure that the bugs are not present in the patient. Only then will they be admitted a S.C.I.N. suit. The insect, of course, was one that the scientists of Earth hadn't seen before, nor was it in the index of animals and insects that existed prior to the SSS. It also didn't share the structure of any insect's ancestors, causing scientists to be most curious about the insect. Its body is small and it has pincers sharp enough to pierce human skin, but also has a numbing agent to prevent the awareness of its presence on the skin. It's small enough to enter the bloodstream, and can only be found using a magnifying glass or observed accurately under a microscope. The ones that target the Cryos are black, while the ones that target the Ignis are the color of blood when it interacts with the oxygen in the air.

Their presence has killed a couple thousand Ignis-Humans and Cryo-Humans already, the number steadily growing, which is a large problem for the remaining population of Earth, hence why two teams will be sent to explore the origin of these bugs and find a way to remove them from the planet.
