Oh, whoops! Forgot I needed it, but alerts were also wonky because I didn't get any for this thread until you tagged me. (That's not an excuse - I knew from the IC thread, which I did get an alert for. Just sayin'.)

Hopefully Mario will be able to get his cannon fire off first, and damage a couple of those Zeki-Zentraedi as we get started on the scrap.

Initiative order:
Mario: 25 (!!) (Tank mode)
Toph: 18 (Battloid mode)
Elinor: 13 (Guardian mode)

Heya gang! I am going to try a couple of new things and see how they work out. Hit me up with feedback if you like?

Temporary changes:
1. I won't be showing you the enemies' Initiative rolls until it's their turn. Of course, they still don't know yours until you've acted.

2. I'm going to toss in a few combat-related terrain elements and see what happens. All of this affects Strike rolls.

For this scene, your team starts in light cover (enemies have a slight penalty to their Strike roll and your Strike roll is unchanged; your enemies at this time do not have cover). This, of course, would not have been the case had you followed the Male Power Armor - your ass would have been hanging in the breeze. =)

In this hangar, if you spend an action to move, you can move to medium cover (increased penalty to their Strike roll, but now you have a minor penalty to your character's Strike roll) or heavy cover (yet increased chance they miss you, but you have medium penalty to your character's Strike roll).

Without getting too heavy into combat rules and such, I'd like to see how this works for this scene.

Sherwood, go ahead post with Mario when you are ready. Great roll on Initiative!

To hit for Mario. Spending an Action Point to (hopefully) nail them good.

EDIT And that is a Critical Strike even before I roll the AP

Suh-wheeeeeeet roll, Sherwood!! That's takin' it to 'em! =)

A few things are rattling about my wee little head. What does the Beastmaster mean about the Key to the Broadsword? Is it Cera? And if so, how does he know she is with us? And what is the Maelstrom? Lets not forget these things in the upcoming posts.

Also, speaking of shifting modes, I have a question about timing. Can I shift modes after I fire? It would be nice to be able to have my shields to protect me from the upcoming onslaught.

Good news is, if the Regult pods are standard in their build, I just took out two of them, and most likely, I will be getting a world of hurt dished out against Mario from the surviving Zentraedi. At least I have the armor to take a few good hits before having to shift modes.

Re: rattling in the head. Sherwood brings up a good point, everyone. =)

Re: Transforming a veritech in combat. It is perfectly all right for a veritech to fire, transform, and end your combat action. Simply state it in your post. Sherwood, you are welcome to rewrite yours to that effect.

Re: VHT-1A1. I am glad you have that armor. Just remember, gang; this model VHT lacks a reinforced pilots compartment. If the Zeki manage to penetrate Mario's main body M.D.C. on his VHT, there is only his mega-suit between him and certain death!

Initiative order:
Mario: 25 (!!) (Tank mode)
Toph: 18 (Battloid mode)
Elinor (and Cera): 13 (Guardian mode)

Psychie Psychie Toph's up, lady! Remember the cover-related info I gave above and show 'em what T.A.S.C. can do! =)

I'll use a Action Point to bolster my to-hit also. Wish me luck!

Edit: Not the best roll, but we'll see if I manage a hit. I'll add my damage in, just in case I get lucky.
30 MDC if it connects.

Sorry, Psychie. Beastmaster rolled a fat nat 20 on his automatic dodge roll...

Initiative order:
Mario: 25 (!!) (Tank mode - destroyed two Battle Pods with one MPAT!)
Toph: 18 (Battloid mode - fired on Beastmaster and missed)
Elinor (and Cera): 13 (Guardian mode)

Representing the ASC, Kaerri is next up to bat with a VHT on first base and a MechaKitten on third, ready to steal home plate. Pitching for the Zeki-Zentraedi this inning is... wait... uh... disregard all that. Back to Robotech: Broadsword! Hee hee... =)

Just to clarify: after congratulating Mario, Elinor is trying to speak at Cera alone in my latest post.

In that case, Cera's reply is also for Elinor's mind alone. Thanks for clarifying!

I would also like to point out - this is clearly Elinor and Toph's first engagement involving the canine-like wargoths that killed Booty.

Rolling for attack.

Oof. Here's hoping Cera gets a better shot off!

Except for Sherwood and Mario, we just can't seem to hit a damn thing. <stomps foot angrily> We need to fix this!

Just to give everyone a quick heads-up, this Thursday night I'm flying out to Texas to see some family over the weekend, and will be back home late Sunday night. I'll bring my computer with me, but my posting schedule will be a bit limited.

I'll be traveling with my five year old on her first airplane flight. It will be an experience.

Thank you very much for the heads-up! Have a great time and enjoy that Tex-Mex food, Sherwood! If you make it near San Antonio, make a trip out to the Alamo Cafe. It's a terrific tortilla factory that makes some excellent food (especially their chicken fajitas - yum!). =)

Heya gang!

Each of the Battle Pods are firing their twin particle beam cannons. If these score a hit, you'll have to make a piloting roll. If failed, you are knocked down, losing initiative and one of your actions as you get back up. Your characters, trained by the ASC, are well aware of this.

Sherwood, two Battle Pods have Strike rolls of 14 and 24 on Mario. Sherwood has spent an Action Point this action and therefore cannot spend another to defend himself (one AP per action - see Shop Talk).
Psychie, two Battle Pods have Strike rolls of 16 and 21 on Toph.
Kaerri, two Battle Pods have Strike rolls of 25 and 25 again on Elinor. The Beastmaster, with his automatic grenade launcher, has a Strike roll of 17.

Mind you, all of this except for maybe the Beastmaster's wargoth-cannon, was supposed to be on Mario if the Beastmaster had had his way just now... After these rolls are resolved, it will be Mario's turn to act again. =)

Good luck!

Initiative order (action 2 - enemies are 900 feet away):
Mario: 25 (!!) (Tank mode - destroyed two Battle Pods with one MPAT!)
Toph: 18 (Battloid mode - fired on Beastmaster and missed.)
Elinor and Cera: 13 (Guardian mode - Elinor fired GU-11 and missed. Cera is providing wargoth interference.)

A quick check on your initiative order. Mario changed to Battloid mode, and is no longer in Tank mode.

Now that my shields are available for use, I will go ahead and attempt a Parry on my Left shield. Rolls coming up.
