Menma opened up her eyes as more people arrived at her side, preening and worrying over her- making her more annoyed. She swallowed the anger that was building and sat back up as a girl started to bandage her arm.

"Stupid fucking bear," she muttered, shooting a glare at the wretched thing as he spoke.

It was 10 PM now, but that didn't really matter to her, honestly, she was just wanting to go back to her room and collapse in her bed. She looked back at the girl who cleaned her scrape, and then to the other sat next to her.

"I'm lucky I remember my own fuckin' name," she said deadpan- an invitation for them to catch her up to speed.

Clementine finished up tending to herself and looked at Menma with raised brows. She then took a moment to look around the room. "So, you remember the bear and the explosion," Clementine said. "Great." She pocketed the supplies she had for her own use later, hoping no one would notice that she did so. It seemed to her that beyond Menma, everyone else had been fixed up. Though, they hardly had it as bad as Menma.

"You might have a concussion," Clementined muttered, looking back at Menma. She examined her closely. "Might be better if we get you resting in an actual bed, okay?"

Conference Room

Pinkie looked at Atsushi, nodding at his comment on which he said he was fine. His injury didn't look fine in Pinkie's eyes, but she trusted his words. She had to trust his words, as she had no room for opposition. Even if she didn't believe him, she didn't have enough strength in herself to argue against the male and truly see how he's feeling. Anyways, the male wouldn't need to see the need to comfort Pinkie about his injury, did he? That was Pinkie's job! She was meant to comfort others, letting them laugh and smile! So... no, of course Atsushi wasn't doing that! She shook the idea out of her brain, giving a small smile and a thumbs up towards him. If anyone was paying attention to what Pinkie would normally do, they would know that if Pinkie had cheered up, she would have said something of encouragement to whoever and given two thumbs ups.

Sophie had seemed not the most comfortable with Pinkie's loudness and outgoing energy, so Pinkie found a comforting sensation inside her when Sophie moved over to her. It wasn't just Sophie's physical movement that comforted Pinkie, but the eye contact as well. The look Sophie gave her wasn't of pity or obliviousness, but something of... understanding. It was as if Sophie saw right through her, the bad emotions she was feeling, but didn't judge her at all for it. Indeed, the opposite effect seemed to happen. Although Sophie's stare wasn't exactly the most comforting, it still seemed to calm down Pinkie, as she got a meaning behind the look and presence. In fact, Pinkie had now noticed everyone's presence around her. Atsushi's immediate coming to her, Usagi catching up to them even when she was just injured from being thrown against a wall, Wanda's warmth, and now Sophie's support. Even if Pinkie was fought with bad news about murder, she had these people by her side to fight through with it, and they wouldn't leave her alone in this. They were Pinkie's friends now, even if they didn't think of Pinkie that way! She needed to be supportive to them as well!

Pinkie's smile widened slightly when Usagi went into her arms, now feeling the same warmth she had earlier with Wanda. It was a nice feeling, having the comforting hug of someone in a terrifying situation like this. It was as if the weight of whatever you were going through transferred to the other person, as they helped you through it. Pinkie's left hand went up to the girl's head, while her other one went to the lower part of Usagi's back. It was as if Pinkie was cradling a child in her arms- which, in hindsight, she was. Pinkie hugging Usagi like this, though, wasn't because the girl was a kid. Her hug seemed to be more because of the hope of comforting her new-found friend.

This nice feeling of hugging seemed to mix in with heartbreak when the blond girl started sniffling into Pinkie's shoulder, bursting into tears. The tears Pinkie had thought went away with Atsushi sprang back up, rolling down her wet cheeks to land on the girl's hair. However, these tears were different from the ones she had now. The tears of fear from before were not springing up. Her weeps were now filled with love. With friendship. With harmony. Of course, Pinkie still had fear in her heart and soul, but that was not the reason she was crying now. All her sobbing was now directed towards Usagi. To Atsushi. To Sophie. To Wanda. To anyone who had been there for her. To anyone who was her past friend from her past world. Her tears were filled with endearment and sorrow, filled with the passion of wanting everything to be okay.

"We won't do what Monokuma says!" Pinkie blubbered, patting the girl's head. "We'll think of something! We will!" In Pinkie's now emotional state mixed with fear and hope, she now had all the wishes she wanted for this event rushing out of her. While all these sayings Usagi and Pinkie said may have been pure optimism, Pinkie was now grasping onto anything she could. Right now, she was desperately holding onto Usagi's words in hope that they were true. In hope that nobody would hurt another. In hope that Pinkie wouldn't.

Through Usagi and Pinkie's bawls, Atsushi seemed to say something about small groups, which Pinkie immediately wondered about now through her sobs. If Pinkie would join in a small group, who would she join with? With... dangerous people. No. No. Most likely with the people she was already with: Usagi, Atsushi, and possibly Sophie and Wanda. While Pinkie had wanted to make friends with everyone here as soon as she woke up in her mysterious room, now she wasn't so sure. She wasn't entirely certain that she wanted to talk to others besides the ones who already grew close to her, which was entirely uncharacteristic of Pinkie. Perhaps after a good night's sleep, she would feel better and snap out of this shocked state of hers! She had to feel better.

Usagi seemed to have agreed to Atsushi's plan, further sinking into Pinkie's embrace. Pinkie patted and smoothed Usagi's hair again, letting the girl know that she wouldn't end this hug if the blond-haired girl wasn't ready to leave. In all honesty, Pinkie wasn't entirely ready to leave yet either. She wasn't ready to face anything yet, and focusing on the hug seemed to clear her thoughts. Since the Usagi addressed Sophie, she tilted her head towards the brown-haired girl, saying sadly, "Mhm. It'll be more..." she hesitated for a moment, "...fun, if we were with them. We'll be together, anyways, since we'll either use the 'buddy with your roommate' or the 'buddy with a group' idea."

Pinkie seemed to have a more serious tone and use of speech, something which would be very unusual to those used to her childish, loud manner of speaking. This was much improved from Pinkie's past panicked state with Atsushi, though. She sniffed and rubbed the tears out of her left eye, still hugging Usagi comfortably, before looking to where Monokuma was speaking. It would only be noticeable to Usagi or anybody looking at her close movements, but Pinkie physically tensed up in fear again from hearing Monokuma talking. This was a natural response from what happened just a few minutes ago, though. The last time Pinkie listened to him, he gave a terrible speech and blew up, causing chaos everywhere. Perhaps Pinkie thought that he would do that again.

Pinkie Pie was wrong, though. Monokuma had just spoken up to announce that people could be lying, the time, and that it was officially "nighttime", where the restaurant was now closed. That meant that any form of comfort Pinkie had when baking cupcakes, cookies, or any other goodie would have to wait until morning. She didn't show any sign of disappointment from this, though, still frozen with fear. She only seemed to disperse from this state after Monokuma left them alone, going back up the way he came from. Never had she ever been so deeply terrified of a talking stuffed animal. In all due process, though, she had never seen a talking stuffed animal. The most talking thing she had seen was talking objects, and that was at the fault of Discord. She didn't think Discord was at fault here, since he would never throw a prank that involved...

If Usagi was still hugging Pinkie, she would feel Pinkie's grasp tighten around her at the thought of killings again. No! No killings! She and her new friends wouldn't die! Right? Anyone in this room wouldn't take the option to do that to others, right? To take someone's life? To take their whole world away from them so that they themselves could go to theirs? She gave a shuddering breath, still looking at the area Monokuma just left at.

"I don't want to go to bed yet..." She muttered, staring off. Even though it was nighttime, she didn't have it in her to go to sleep. She didn't even think she could, considering all that happened. Even if she did, her night's slumber would most likely be filled with nightmares. Pinkie had usually dreamt of talking cupcakes, huge alligators, or parties, so a nightmare would shake her even more. Perhaps their little group could explore a bit more and see the areas that they had not yet seen, to make up for all the lost time being in this meeting and distract themselves? Wanda pointed earlier that Pinkie wasn't helping much with searching earlier, too busy playing with Mrs. Ellie and Mr. Giraffe, so if they started exploring again, she could potentially help. She knew they had to sleep eventually, but they couldn't just end the day off with this event replaying in their minds. It wasn't as though many people were going to bed, anyways, with them all tending to the wounded.

1646189102100.pngWell, that answered at least one of her questions. With Claude's explanation, Marie's eyes wandered over to the young Hiiragi girl- no, not that one, and not that other one either- with a hint of nervous apprehension. She... didn't know that girl. In fact, she didn't know anybody here. She didn't want to 'partner up' with anybody but Ren, and he was nowhere in sight. Still, another part of Claude's words stuck with her as well, her blonde hair curtaining her face as she glanced to the floor. "We can't trust anyone," she repeated, softly, seeming to mull the words over. Truth be told, she never really thought about trusting people. Most just wanted her dead, or avoided her entirely, or both. So it wasn't really like she'd had to consider the matter of trust. But here, it didn't seem as though anyone regarded her with the disgust, hatred or horror she was used to. They actually seemed to want to engage with her. So what could she call that? Was it trust? Manipulation, perhaps? She wasn't really familiar with such things. She could barely even discern if she had a heart beating in her painfully empty chest.

Though these thoughts called her attention, Cater's steady shift in demeanor pulled her focus rather easily. She had hoped Monokuma would answer her questions, but since it didn't, she allowed herself to fully focus on the strange man who spoke in ways she didn't understand. "Cater..? Are you okay?" she queried, tilting her head with a slightly concerned expression. It might've been rude for her to interject on what seemed like a serious conversation between the two men, but she didn't seem aware of that. "This doesn't seem like you." Sure, physical injuries were important to treat; but it seemed like many others had already rushed to the aid of those who were caught in the blast and, beyond that, Marie couldn't help but wonder if something internal had broken inside of Cater. In a way, that was far worse than any pain that could be inflicted by a blade. But even as she pondered Cater's condition...

"...Ah." Claude's explanation of his circumstances prompted her to glance at him with emerald eyes that filled with an undiscernible emotion, flickering gently like a candleflame. For the first time since she'd arrived here, the faintest trace of a smile tugged at the corner of her lips, solemn and full of yearning as it may have been. "You remind me of Ren." The naive wish for a peaceful solution that simply didn't exist, and the urgent desire to change the course of fate itself; all while maintaining a kindness that many would be hard-pressed to ever hope to achieve in their lifetimes, let alone under such intensely gloomy circumstances. That was part of what made the man so admirable to her. Unwarranted comparisons and reminiscing of her precious friend aside, she managed to tune back into the conversation, her right hand moving to loosely grasp her opposite arm. "If that's how it is, then... what do we do now?" Truth be told, the only things she knew how to do were kill and sing. She felt lost and directionless without Ren's guidance, still so new to the modern world after being freed from her twilight realm. She hadn't the slightest clue how she'd be able to occupy her time now that she was alone.

Louise simply sat in the corner of the room - no way she was going back to her room. Being alone with anyone, no matter how long, could mean a death sentence. Folding her arms, she rested her head against one hand and waited.

“I think we can make it out without killing. Or...at the very least...maybe as few deaths as possible. There has to be something we're missing. We just have to find that other way."

All things considered, Cater was pretty embarrassed. He just met this guy and now she’s making a fool of himself! Although Claude didn’t seem think any less of him, which he was grateful for. This guy seemed genuine and honest. There was no way he could be the traitor, it was clear from how he spoke. Hearing about how even he had moments where he broke down definitely put him at ease as well. He felt like this was a guy he could come to from here on out.

"Cater..? Are you okay? This doesn't seem like you."

Marie’s soft words interrupted his thoughts. He didn’t expect for her to come up to him, let alone talk to him and show concern. It wasn’t a bad thing he just didn’t see her as the type. To be honest, he thought he scared her the first time they met, and they hadn’t really talked after that. With Cater say in the chair, the girl was actually towering over him. With the concern in her voice and the angle he saw her from, in the moment she reminded him of his older sisters at home. Odd, considering he was definitely older than her.

“I’m- I’m okay Marie. Thank you.”

"Any of us in this room could be lying, couldn't we? But here's the truth... it's nighttime! 10PM! The restaurant will be locking up now!"

10 pm already huh? The time seemed to fly by. Although he realized he didn’t actually know what time he woke up. He hadn’t bothered to search for a clock when he first woke up. For all he know he could have woken up at like, 7 pm.

Cater sniffled, stood up, and recollected himself. I’m just one moment, he was back to his carefree self. “Aw man that was totes embarrassing… haha. But… thanks for that. You guys are both really good people.” He gave a genuine smile to both Claude and Marie.

"If that's how it is, then... what do we do now?"

“Ah well I guess we gotta go to our rooms soon. I’m ready to conk out fr!” Cater scanned the room for his roomie Yumeko.

“Oh and by the way,” he leaned toward Marie. “I don’t think anyone is actually sisters here. I wasn’t talking literally. But I wouldn’t mind having you guys as sisters.” He smiled.

"Well, I'm happy I can at least give people something to relate to." Claude said with a smile and a nod toward Marie. He sighed at her inquiry of what to do next. That was definately a difficult question. It was hard to really form a good course of action knowing that choosing the wrong course of action could lead to a death sentence. He glanced to the side, Menma and the others caught in the blast had just barely escaped with their lives. That was the consequence of just one wrong move. Who knows what woukd happen for another.

He glanced back at Cater, giving him a smile as well. "It's fine. I don't see a need to judge snyone for having a moment in a time like this." he stated before glancing at the clock again, then at the two. "I suppose we'd all better get going to bed for the night."
in all truth, Claude was not tired. With the circumstances they were just presented, sleep sounded like the last thing he wanted. He needed to keep learning about things. He needed to form a strategy for the situation at hand. He can't just leave things like this.

1646198147852.pngThat response should have reassured her, and likely would have in the past, but... "Are you sure?" she pondered, tilting her head. "Just then, your eyes seemed very sad." It was an odd way of putting it, certainly, but the sentiment remained all the same. New as she was to sensing emotion, it was easier for her to pick up on than she realized. But as Cater put his upbeat front back on, and complimented her and Claude, she was visibly a little startled. A... good person, huh? She didn't think anyone had ever called her such a thing before. It felt like something sacred and pure; far too high of praise for the l'enfant de la punition. "...That's a strange thing for you to say," she sighed after a pause, shaking her head slightly. "But... you seem like a good person, too. Your heart feels sincere and kind." It was a soft amendment, made with the same faint, sad smile she'd only just mustered moments before.

A glance was spared at Claude, and she added, "Yours, too." Like Ren. She was glad that there were at least a handful of people here like that. She didn't have much to say at first, but the men's suggestion that they return to their rooms prompted the fragile smile she'd worn to finally break, ending its fleeting life. Of course they wanted to go to sleep. They were probably human, like Ren. She herself didn't need sleep, though she could engage in it if she chose, but... she didn't think she'd be able to even if she tried, here. She'd much rather pass the time in company, but she also didn't intend to take away the needed rest of anyone around her. "I understand. I hope you both dream sweetly, then," she offered with a small nod of acknowledgement. "I'm sure everyone needs good rest."

Oh. Cater was leaning toward her now. She blinked, staring at him curiously as he explained his earlier words. She wanted to say she got it, but... "You really are strange," she confessed. "I don't understand what you say, but... I don't think I mind." A beat passed, and with that awkward maybe-compliment, maybe-insult, she made a final addition. This time, she glanced between him, Nana, and Claude altogether as she spoke, as though to pose it to all of them. "...Will I see you again tomorrow?"

Too bad there wasn't a concrete answer to such an inquiry.

Clementine

Mk8NPeo.png
Now that things had died down, Clementine wanted to get down to business. She was going to take this seriously, which meant a full night of studying the profiles of the other players. She gave Menma an encouraging smile and got herself into a kneeling position. "Hey, Menma? I'm going to watch you tonight, all right? I just want to make sure you're okay. You'll have your roommate there in case I try anything." She looked up at Butters. "Mind helping the two of us over to the hotel?" Clementine felt slightly bad about leaving Sera in the lurch, for as far as that girl probably could tell, she might think that Clementine disliked her.

When the three of them, and whoever else was on their way to the hotel, got to reception, they found a wheelchair waiting. It was clearly for Clementine, but she wanted to let Menma have it for the night.

Despite the excitement leading up to nighttime, the hours that stretched on past 10PM made for a rather unremarkable time. Whether anyone desired to sleep or not, the rule about sleeping outside of the hotel being forbidden was something everyone had to keep in mind. The question in the air was clear: Was something terrible going to happen as they slept?

As it turned out, it seemed nothing happened the night before, though there had been a few changes made overnight. Cameras and monitors were now all over the building, at least one in every room. In addition, the Gift Shop was now filled with merchandise. Sadly, it was all Monokuma merchandise. His face was plastered on countless shirts, hats, bags, mugs.

6:30 AM

As soon as it was six-thirty in the morning, a mass text went out to the group.

Hey everyone, please meet in the restaurant as soon as possible. It’s really important.
- Clementine

Whoever did arrive found Clementine, now using the wheelchair, with a serious look on her face. She was seated at one of the bigger tables near the entrance. For whatever reason, there was a pile of dried spaghetti sitting in front of her. She waited for everyone to stumble in before saying her piece.

DDoZ8Fh.png
“So, listen… I know I’m just one person, but I was going over everything in my head last night and there’s a few things I need to say. I think we really need to take this seriously. I can’t explain where half of you even come from or how any of this is possible. So, a lot of what that bear is saying is probably true. Whoever is controlling him–”
Clementine paused and held a palm out. “Wait, everyone remember? He kept saying 'we' when referring to setting all this up. There’s got to be a group controlling him and running this. And if there’s a group, why not have one or more people on the inside within our group? I don’t mean to throw doubt around but…”

She placed her palms down on the table, bracing herself for this thought. “I don't know any of you. I can’t trust any of you. And where I’m from, I’ve seen even the closest people turn on each other for the stupidest reasons. We are all in danger, so I think the measures people were talking about yesterday is something to consider. I do think we should all pick a partner. Whoever you feel you can trust. If you don’t have one or can’t pick one, we’ll draw– err, we’ll draw spaghetti to find matches. I think we should also have a second partner independent of the first, but totally random. We can draw for that too. The first partner, the ones we pick, we should stick together physically as much as possible. As for the second, that one should be our messaging partner. We can check in with them with a message, say… at eight in the morning, noon, and ten at night?”

Clementine pulled out her tablet. “It turns out we can’t record text in the memos, just read the rules. Plus, we weren’t provided paper or anything to write with. So, to keep track of everyone’s partners, we’ll use the chalkboard… There’s a chalkboard in the Café if you didn't catch that.”

With that, Clementine was finished. “Honestly, you guys might not like this, but if the majority are willing to work with me on this, I think it will be for the best.”

Sophie rubbed her eye. She barely got any sleep, and looked about ready to doze off at any moment.

Whenever she closed her eyes, she would see a framed picture on a wall featuring colorful cartoon characters, depicted in a style similar to the one featured on the back of Sophie's tablet.

49DB4365-3C35-4AD4-B779-FDD041F31847.jpeg

The image on the wall was of a woman in her 40s. It was of Sophie’s mother. It felt like a funeral.

Sophie was startled awake every time she saw her. It was a never ending nightmare.

She was unsure about who her partner would be, as Clementine suggested. She sat near Pinkie, Wanda, Atsushi, and Usagi if they were all there, and they were the the only ones Sophie even considered to be her partner.

She looked at them and sighed. "Who's gonna be who's partner…" she said.

Claude Von Riegan

Ultimate Stratigist

After bidding Marie and Cater a good night, Claude did a bit of wandering before heading to bed. He had hoped to find something useful but he didn't have any luck. No hints on how to possibly get out of this. Was there truly no other way for them to leave here other than as a corpse or as a murderer? No. He wasn't going to give up. He couldn't. If he gave up completely he was pretty sure he would just go insane.
His sleep was similar to the sleep he had during the war days. Still sleep but still thinking at the same time. Thinking of the situation at hand, trying to think of possible outcomes, devising a strategy for each. It was somewhat how he slept this time. Thinking of thos he aquainted with, thinking of worst case scenarios...it wasn't much of a restful sleep...

At 6:30AM, the archer awoke to a ping from his device as it lit up, lighting the area around his nightstand a bit as well. That area also included his bed. He sleepily opened his eyes, rubbing the sleepydust away. When he saw the time, he figured it must be time to get up. Time to assess the damage, he figured. It seemed nothing special had gone on on their end as it seemed his roommate was still there...right?
He reached over and got his device out, noticing the ping was a text from Clementine, asking them to meet in the conference room. Had she gotten an idea?

"Hey." he told Frank as he stood up, stretching. "We're needed in the conference room. I think Clementine has an idea." he announced. Leaving his roommate to decide what to do, Claude hurried out of the room for now, wanting to see what was going on. He didn't want to keep it waiting.

Conference Room

Claude made his way to the conference room briskly. He couldn't help but sometimes think of when Byleth asked them to meet in the main room for lecture or breifing when they all had to sit in here. At this point, the conference room might as well be their breifing room. At this point, this may as well be a war that they're meeting about. He did take note of how some surroundings changed, how their equipment now started to have that bear's icon on it. The bear was probably listening and watching everything they did here. Was it even wise to have a strategy meeting here? Sighing, he gathered his half-asleep nerves and listened to what Clementine had to say.

"I agree in a multiple partner system. I think most of us can probably pick one of those on our own since we've had time to get aquainted and find some people we're drawn to. It's true that we probably can't fully trust anyone. Especially with what you're suggesting that there may be more than just one traitor in our ranks. Which would make sense. That bear was pretty vague. There could easily be more than one person on his side..." he started uneasily. He hated having to ssy this out loud but it was true. Clementine's proposal about there being more than just one person amongst them who is working with that bear was very reasonable. Which meant that it was even more risky to trust anyone completely. "The messeging partner...I think would be good to randomize completely. If we keep names on the chalkboard, it might also help us narrow some things down if we do end up finding a body. And chances are guys, we probably will..."

He had finally said it. He finally admitted that not everyone is going to make it out. It felt like giving up. But with no luck in finding alternative plans...it truly was a matter of time before someone here ended up in a body bag...

Aru groggily made her way to the proposed meeting place that Clementine messaged them about, and honestly, who can blame her for not seeming like she got any good sleep? At the very least, she was able to get herself over in one piece, attempting to hold back a very instinctive yawn. She gave Clementine's proposal on what everyone here would do, nodding silently. There's a crap ton of people here, so that dumb bear's probably sweet-talked someone into being some sort of traitor. It didn't help that Aru didn't know anyone all too well besides their extremely brief info blurbs on everyone from the messenger memo they were given. Looking back on yesterday's events, the Mystic sighed upon realizing that she didn't really have a good scope on who to partner up with, if she were thinking on how to survive whatever hell was up later down the line.

Atsushi was an option, but she didn't really talk much with him besides a passing gesture upon their arrival and then the rather sleepless night leading up to this morning. They were assigned a room together, so it made things easier on sticking together at least.

Then there Faust and Pyr-... wait no, Tobi. Those two were already in a room together, and both were... too eccentric for her own sanity. Maybe they'll just... stick with each other or something?

Lastly, there was that weird girl, Sakurako. She kinda reminded Aru of that one weird student from Kivotos' Millennium School, but if she were more of a blank slate for someone to imprint their beliefs and all that shit onto her. The outlaw's observations figured that maybe it wouldn't hurt to get partnered up with her, more so to ensure that no one else tried to make her do the very bad things.

Scanning the group of people that did show up so far, Aru spotted Atsushi, but noticed that there were a couple of others that she hasn't gotten to know well yet near him. Now it feels a tad awkward to her to try and butt in, despite she and Atsushi sharing a room. So for now, the Ultimate Outlaw decides to try her luck with Sakurako, if she were to be there this morning of course.

❝ Psst! Pssssst! Rumor girl, you got a partner or not? ❞ Aru tries to get the other's attention, much like trying to discreetly pass a note during class. It would be a tad embarrassing for her supposed image to loudly call over to the other, so this was Aru's best way of trying to not draw awkward attention to herself.

After hearing Monokuma announced the time, it seemed everyone intended to go back to their room without accepting neither Nana's nor Hamilton's plans yet. Whatever, she was certain they would have to eventually talk about it. If there were gonna be 32 people living together and something as crucial as this still wasn't discussed by tomorrow then it might be easier to actually kill someone and get away with it. As she thought that, she heard Marie's voice.

"Of course! See you tomorrow, Marie-chan! If you have any problem feel free to visit my room anytime!"

Despite just thinking about killing someone, Nana enthusiastically waved and gave the blonde girl a reassuring smile. She then turned to her roommate who was surprisingly quiet throughout Monokuma's speech.

"Um, Shinoa. I know we have a lot of thing to talk about, but we still haven't explored this place yet. So I would like to stay here for about an hour. You can go back to our room first or tag along if you want."

Regardless of Shinoa's choice, Nana would then visit every areas saved for restaurant which was already closed. As she entered the gym and looked around to memorize its structure and contents like every other places, she spotted various sport gears that the others had seen during the day. After making sure no one was looking, the girl would pick up 2 jumping ropes and quickly hide them in her uniform's pocket. She might still had no intention to kill anyone, but this thing could be used in more ways than just strangle someone to death.

srMa54F.jpg

After that, the ultimate class leader returned to her room and talked to her roommate about a lot of thing. They learned about each other's pasts. Or at least, the portions Nana considered she could let Shinoa know. After telling her about the class of Talented that she was currently a leader, Shinoa would ask about her ability as the Talented. Nana revealed that she was able to read mind, randomly hearing someone else's thought. But for some reason, after waking up here it completely stopped working. And then they moved to the topic about boys in their respective lives...

Nana yawned intensely. She looked at Shinoa who was still sleeping before picked up her smartphone which just let out a notification sound.

All her drowsiness was washed away the moment she looked at the message. Did someone already make a move!? Nana agitatedly woke up Shinoa and made her way to the restaurant.

The pink girl couldn't help but yawn again after learning that Clem simply gathered them all for a strategic meeting. In her defense, that "girl talk" last night wouldn't end until 3-4 AM, and now she started to wonder why talkative was not one of her roommate described traits. She then looked at the newly added cameras for a while before looking around to find Cater and Marie and dragging the half asleep Shinoa to one of the table at the same time. Whenever she spotted either of those two, she would wave at them and try to invite them to sit together.

“Honestly, you guys might not like this, but if the majority are willing to work with me on this, I think it will be for the best.”

"Of course we are willing to work with you!" Nana gave a loud applause and merrily said that right after the ultimate survivalist finished her speech. The girl then rose from her seat after gaining some attention. "While I still hold my opinion from yesterday, I fully support any idea that would help keep us safe, no matter how inconvenient it is!" Gradually walking toward the entrance, she reached Clem's table and turned to face the crowd. "I, too, am just another unimportant person who don't know any of you." She paused to make as many eye contact as she could, giving out a confident and desperate gaze. "However, I choose to trust all of you! Between killing someone then getting away with with it and cooperating to leave this place together, I don't think any of us will make the wrong decision!" Finally, she looked at Claude who also just stated his opinion before confidently completing her speech. "We will definitely leave this place alive, all of us will!"

Nana wanted to expand more on their strategy, but after thinking again, it would be better to wait for some more input. So she decided to do something that would ease up the air a bit "By the way, Clementine, can I call you Clem?" Without waiting for answer, she made a meaningful glance at the spaghetti on the table. "I think there are better ways to randomize people than using a tasty food like this, don't you agree?"

Trusty Patches - Restaurant

Shinobu OshinoBedrooms > Reception Hall > Wherever TF This Place Is > Conference Room

"Thine eyes are blind if you think the two of us are anything alike. Though mayhaps you are alike someone else I know, perhaps a little bit of familiarity for the time being may be of benefit even if from an oddity of the untrustworthy variety," Shinobu said as she exited into the hallway, observing those she spotted already there. Her goal was to simply stay in the background and out of sight for now, following them around and observing until something of note happened. She gave Patches a bit of a gesture to indicate these intentions. When the group took the elevators, Shinobu followed, not speaking a single word and making sure to avoid being near the conversation. Thankfully for her, there was an individual already grabbing everyone's attention by going from being a monstrous pyramid-wearing freak to an equally abnormal mask-and-cloak wearing buffoon.

When it came time for Shinobu to step in front of the monitor, she did so, finding the device it spat out rather intriguing seeing as it listed both the name given to her after meeting Koyomi and her actual age in its database, meaning either someone had been observing her for more than a few years, or only knew tiny bits about her. She made certain to take place in a corner out of the way of everyone afterwards, simply scrolling through the device for a short period of time until something else of interest happened. When a bear thing appeared with explanations of why they were all there and such, it was honestly rather disheartening to find out that they were there for someone's game of murder mystery. It all seemed a bit unnecessary and uninteresting. Though even less interesting was the individual speaking up about how they didn't have to kill each other and whatnot, so Shinobu stepped forward and cleared her throat with an 'Ahem.' "Bloodshed is only pointless if there be not a goal. Albeit I see not a purpose to thine game of hide and seek you seem so eager to enforce. Wouldst not a proper fight for survival be more entertaining than some boring game of who's the witch?"

Patches frowned melodramatically almost immediately after Shinobu's words cut into his ears. "Aw, come now. I'm Trusty Patches! The one and only!" he said, his words betraying his fake expression. The duo then navigated through the crowds of weirdos. The thief took careful notice of everyone, listening into their conversations as he walked. Those who would catch him staring would be met with a wink and a grin.
"A joke?" the bear repeated. "Huh, I don't hear anyone laughing, do you? Well, maybe a little chuckling is in order. I am quite the comedian, after all. But I hate to tell you that I'm here for a very serious reason!" The bear raised one arm into the air excitedly. "Here's the thing, my name is Monokuma! Bear extraordinaire! And I'm in charge of this here shindig! You got it? Every game has a gamemaster and that. Is. Me!"

The projector turned on, showing an image of Monokuma. "See? Look at that bear. So exquisite." On screen, an animated cage drops down around Monokuma, trapping him. "And that's the situation you're all in! You are trapped in this building with no way out. If you think that's a lie, well, the ninja who decided to play a prank tried to get out and we totally burned up his costume for it." On-screen Monokuma attacked his cage and erupted into flames.

"Not that we need flamethrowers to keep you inside. It's one of the most secure places in existence! So much so, that you'll probably be desperate to get outside... Thankfully, I do have a solution for you all!" The cage lifted from around projector Monokuma and he suddenly had his claws out. "Murder! This is a death game, people! We'll let you out if you kill each other. And I do mean kill. Any way you want, even. Bludgeon... Poison... Stabbing... Choking... There's so many options!"
Zenterfold Zenterfold

Then, the situation became clear. He really had been tricked into some sort of trap. Similar to Shinobu, Patches felt rather disappointed. "I've had plenty of death where I'm from," he laughed at Monokuma, "Why put all the time and money into this untidy mess? Just take all our trinkets and be done with it." He held up the phone that he had been given earlier with one eye closed, as if he was appraising it. "I mean, you've really left us a gold mine out here! Look at all this," he gestured to all the pristine areas that likely were built just for this purpose, "I'm feeling rather pampered right now, I am."

Patches lingered around Room P (which was clearly his room, given that it started with his initials), though he was unable to sleep, given his curse. He juggled his phone in the air and caught it, a process that probably repeated a thousand times. It was rather surprising that the number of humans were so great that such a thing as a "curfew" had to be enforced. He was a long way from home, that's for sure. But at least he had company.

Patches was squatting on the ground in quite an unusual posture, still fiddling with his new device as the meeting was called. "Partners, eh? Well, we're already ahead of you all with that, aren't we, Kiss?" the so-called merchant teased, giving Shinobu a side-glance. Those who had read the profiles in the database would likely look at Patches in confusion, and he noticed this. "Oi, wait a sec," he murmured, his eyes squinting at the bright glow of his phone, having just now figured out how to use the Profiles menu. He looked at his partner with a friendly scowl. "And here I thought we were acquainted! What's it to you, lying about your name like that anyway? And-- bloody hell. You're 598 years old? Don't tell me you're Undead too, are you?"

Either way, Patches continued his spiel. "Kiss-- I mean Shinobu-- have already decided to follow one another," he said tiredly, putting a hand on his chin. His expression seemed to neutralize, his sarcasm fading, as he noticed that Kotomine had chosen to show up to the meeting. "As for the second, I could care less how that's chosen. But there's no chance I'm pairing with that rotten cleric over there." He pointed and glanced at the towering priest, his height even more noticeable due to the thief choosing to lower himself to the ground. He looked at the man with nothing other than contempt, like his very presence was a problem. "I don't deal with lousy charlatans. Not until he strips himself clean of that unruly attire, at least."
"Of course we are willing to work with you!" Nana gave a loud applause and merrily said that right after the ultimate survivalist finished her speech. Patches squinted at Nana, unable to ignore her overpowering and deliberate voice. He could see somewhat past her guise, and being a conman himself, he decided to cast doubt on her in order to slow her stride. "Don't you think you're getting a little ahead of yourself there, love? Saying all of us will make it out, not a scratch? Guaranteed?" he smiled condescendingly, hoping that the others would overhear, "This place is treacherous. If we're to trust one another, we've gotta be honest with ourselves first, don't we? Heh heh heh..."

Louise looked even more bedraggled than usual, her mop of dark hair falling across much of her face. Pushing back the unruly strands, she glanced around at those gathered. "I... I think I'll draw," she said softly, the former attorney's voice a little hoarse. She picked at faintly visible scars on her face, resembling a cracked-glass pattern, before reaching out to the plate.

Tobi chuckled at the beard response to his question, this was surely interesting nonetheless, though the question was….who would be the first to break the peace agreement between everyone? Who would break under the pressure and tension that flooded the room.

He let out a snicker and nodded to wards the bear before leaving the sleeves of his jack moving along side with him as he never showed his hands to the rest of everyone else.

Once he meet up with everyone else and getting Clementines message to meet at the restraunt and noticed a familiar face….Aru’s.

Though once he saw Faust again he waved at him with a giggle, he then listened to clementines little speech.

Faust we should partner up! PLEASEEEEEE FAUST!”

He said as he chuckled and spun around waiting for Faust’s answer to his question and alliance request.

Though as he scooted his face closer only shock would come to Faust as a glowing red eye appeared to glow out of Tobi’s mask, the small hole glowing, only Faust could see it at the moment.

If we want to win and make it out alive I suggest we stick close to each other. Don’t you think that as well?

His voice changed into a deep and menacing tone, it was confirmed by Faust the voice from before definitely wasn’t his and he could change his voice from a child to his owns in a snap of his fingers, he looked up at the tall man as his eye glew a dark red color from the hole of the mask.

"...Will I see you again tomorrow?" Doubt flashed in his mind. The answer would have been obvious in a normal situation, but here? He couldn’t help but wonder. Still, he held firm.

“Of course.”

Cater wandered back to his room, immediately collapsing in his bed. At first he had a hard time falling asleep, as he reviewed the days events in his head. And Marie’s question still lingered as well. There wouldn’t be a murder. There wouldn’t be. He’ll see her again tomorrow.

At some point his thoughts subsided and the tiredness hit him full force, and he was out like a light.

6:30 am rolled around and there was a message on his phone. Normally he would have put his phone on so not disturb for the night otherwise it would be going off constantly, but this is a much different scenario. He was at least glad to have a phone he could keep next to him on his bed again. It was weird but it became a sort of comfort item for him.

He checked the message: a mass text from Clementine

Hey everyone, please meet in the restaurant as soon as possible. It’s really important.
- Clementine

Cater shot up from his bed, now wide awake. Had someone…

He didn’t want to think about it, he just needed answers. He glanced to the opposite side of the room and sighed a breath of relief. Yumeko is still there, good. Now to check on everyone else. The best way to do that is to head to the restaurant. Wait there’s a restaurant? He remembered he never really had a chance to explore before, and yesterday’s events tired him way to much to explore after. He pulled up the map and headed downstairs.

When he arrived at the restaurant he spotted Nana, who waved him over. Who was he to deny an invitation from a friend? He went and sat down at the table.

“Honestly, you guys might not like this, but if the majority are willing to work with me on this, I think it will be for the best.”

Clementine’s planned seemed solid enough, and Cater had no objections to it. Who should he pick for his partners though? He had so many options. Claude was the first to speak after her.

"The messaging partner...I think would be good to randomize completely. If we keep names on the chalkboard, it might also help us narrow some things down if we do end up finding a body. And chances are guys, we probably will..."

That was probably for the best. Though that just made picking his other partner so much harder. But the last part shook him. We probably will…? Has he really admitted we won’t all make it out?

"By the way, Clementine, can I call you Clem? I think there are better ways to randomize people than using a tasty food like this, don't you agree?"

I mean maybe but he wasn’t sure what. Nana seemed to have an idea though so he was willing to hear his friend out. Nana and Claude’s words conflicted each other. We won’t all make it, we will all make it. He didn’t know what to believe. He just stood there listening as everyone so confidently stated things as if they were fact. But they weren’t. They were nothing more than guesses and false hope.

"Don't you think you're getting a little ahead of yourself there, love? Saying all of us will make it out, not a scratch? Guaranteed? This place is treacherous. If we're to trust one another, we've gotta be honest with ourselves first, don't you think? Heh heh heh…”

Some guy called patches was the one to speak next. What right did he think he have to say something like that? Was he trying to start something? Did he want people to kill? Cater tried to keep his cool, despite the BS this man was spewing. Cater stood from his seat too.

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Kay, king? There’s no use being so sour all the time. We gotta have hope if we want to make it out, and everything will work out. Clem’s plan is based, and I agree the second partners should be randomized. Nana, you said you had a better idea for it?”

Frank Zhang

After helping Clementine with her wounds, Frank helped her back to the conference room, where he then ran back to his room as fast as he could. There was still a chance that he could have a dream. For demigods, dreams weren’t exactly normal dreams. And maybe, he could find out what was going on back home.

He had never taken longer to fall asleep, still wearing football gear and all.

———

Frank blinked, looking around. He was looking at an ocean so blue, that it looked like dye had been used on it. It was really hot though, and Frank felt himself sweating even in the dream. Then, he turned to see an old man and two girls with him. Frank was definitely confused…. Until they started talking.

From what he could understand, Jason, Annabeth, and Piper were heading towards Ithaca, where Odysseus’s old palace was. He remembered discussing this with everyone aboard the Argo II, and they were around a day from there when he suddenly disappeared…. A sudden boom made his dream-state shake, with a crowd cheering somewhere above. He still didn’t know anything though, he need to stay here long-

Frank was suddenly awake with a gasp. Gods… So, the plans they had made aboard the Argo ll were still in effect. And Jason, Annabeth, and Piper were O.K. He felt both relieved and frustrated at the same time. He really wanted to know how Hazel was….

Sitting up in his bed, he started to explore his phone, coming up on the list of participants. He casually looked over it. His own traits, he could agree with, strangely enough. As he was prepared to get up however, a noise suddenly came from his phone, with a text message from Clementine.
"Hey." he told Frank as he stood up, stretching. "We're needed in the conference room. I think Clementine has an idea."
“Sure… just gimme a minute,” Frank said. “Also, it’s the restaurant she wanted for us to meet up at.”

As Claude left, Frank would take off all the sports gear, including the shoulder pad with the debris lodging into it off, along with changing into a fresh purple T-Shirt that had SPQR on it. He also took out the snow globe with Monokuma in it, and set it onto of the dresser. Finally, he patted the pocket with his firewood in it, just to reassure he still had his lifeline. He finally set off for the restraint after this.

He was one of the later people, but he still slid into a seat at the table with Cater, Nana, and Shinoa. Clementine was just explaining her idea as he arrived, and he mulled it over. It definitely sounded like a good plan, probably the best so far.
"I think there are better ways to randomize people than using a tasty food like this, don't you agree?"
“Hey, it isn’t like we can go outside and grab some firewo-sticks,” Frank said. “Besides, if it works, it works.” The idea, now he though about it, was like a combination of both Hamiltons and Nanas ideas.

Clearing his throat, Frank spoke up, addressing the group at large.

“Guys, I think that Clementines idea is probably the best we got so far, and even if we don’t like it…” Casting a meaningful gaze at Nana, he continued. “We can always change it later, IF we can all agree on a system that works. So, let’s just grab our spaghetti and find our partners.” He still had one more thing to say, though. “Also, I have something to share with you guys after we figure out our partners. It’s important, believe me.”

Clementine fixed Nana a careful look. "Clem is fine," she said, watching the girl. Clementine was keenly aware of the profile info provided on Nana. Cunning and manipulative meant she was someone to watch out for. While Clementine wasn't sure they could entirely trust the profiles (they had gone with Tobi's lie about being some kind of creature named Pyramid Head, after all), she had gotten a sense earlier that Nana was a bit more than she let on.
"How else would you randomize people?" she then asked. "I remember when I was a kid, my teacher liked to put names into a hat, but we don't have paper or anything..."

Claude listened to what everyone had to say, simply shrugging at the matter of randomizing the messaging partners. "Honestly, it doesn't matter how we do it - the speghettis seems fair to me and of you're worried about eating it later, it'll still be perfectly good once it boils for awhile." he stated before putting his hands on the desk. He glanced over at the others as more tension came on about the nature of their situation.
"I'm also trying not to be sour here but...still, we should keep the worse case scenario in mind. A lot of time has passed and I'm sure the traitors are just looking for a chnce to strike. I don't WANT us to find a body but it's likely, given what all we've gathered, that we may soon. Better to lay it out there just in case." he added. He truly didn't want to be one finding a body. But it seemed almost inevidable at this point.

Kirei Kotomine

1646253934657.png
Unlike any others who might have been unaccustomed to waking up at such an early hour and come to a rude awakening from Clementine's initial message, Kotomine had already been up and about in the early hours of the morning as well, after patching up Menma and then himself, so he was one of the first to answer the girl's call and attend the cafeteria, loath as he was to answer at someone else's beck and call, especially such a young child. He entertained the thought of simply arriving to the cafeteria, attaining breakfast, and then leaving without a word, but it wasn't as though he had any particular appetite, not by default and certainly not in such a pressing situation, so instead, he sat down at the large table where Clementine seemed to be waiting for him and the others.

Once everyone arrived and Clementine put forward the idea of each survivor partnering up to prevent, or at least minimize, suspicions and the likelihood of murder as Monokuma so gleefully announced, Kotomine gave a wide, one-armed shrug. "You are particularly astute for such a young child. Your environment must have trained you well for a situation like this. However, I have little desire to be beholden to anyone else, nor to any other specific person here," he said. It was clear that what he initially meant by this was that he wasn't going to be chained down -- for lack of a better word -- by some helpless child or invalid here, but his lightly irritated scowl soon shifted back to his signature, holier-than-thou smile. "After all, as a priest, it is my duty to open my arms to everyone equally, is it not?" He said disingenuously, and he could imagine everyone else who had managed to get a word in with him could see that, but he paid them no mind.

He had no desire to play particular favorites here, though if this was something everyone was going to go along with, he may as well play along, especially if circumstances would lead to how this Monokuma had planned, and an alibi would be necessary indeed. "Very well. If a lost lamb so desires to be guided by my hand, then who am I to refuse? With that said..." The man began, looking over to Patches while maintaining his overbearing expression. "I wonder, would it assuage or exacerbate your concerns to know that even mine own student refers to me as a fake priest? Man of the cloth I may be, but I assure you, I am unlike any cleric you have met before," he said, before moving his gaze over to Patches's other partner, the little girl whom he had been informally partnered with all this time anyway, one Shinobu Oshino. "Then again, perhaps it is just as well. I imagine I must have slain as many vampires and undead as that little girl must have slain men in her time. Might I presume correctly?" He asked the blonde girl with a wry smile, before continuing on. "But then, perhaps this will be a place of many firsts, if both parties are willing to put aside our... petty differences," Kotomine finished, his latter words laced with a self-aware irony to them.

From there, he turned his gaze toward Faust and Wanda, crossing his arms. "On the other hand, better the devils I know than the ones I do not, pardon my saying," he said, unable to deny he had taken an interest in those here who were able to peer into his soul, who gazed into the abyss, and the abyss that was Kotomine gazed back. People who would likely intend to keep an eye on him, and he on them as well. "But I am not particular with my preferences. If it comes down to picking... straws, then I shall have no objection."

Pinkie seemed to accept his reassurance, which was good. Her admitting to not wanting to go to bed yet, well, it was understandable given what just happened. Either way the after all that happened today sleep was inevitable.

"Well, you and Pinkie are roommates right? Would that be easier for you, having her as one of your partners?" Atsushi asked.

He himself wasn't all that close to his own roommate Aru, after their brief talk the other day before Monokuma made his presence known. After going back to their shared room he had spent a few minutes pulling shrapnel out of his arm and then trying to sleep at some point. After changing into a clean less tattered turtleneck and jacket he had gotten Clementine's message, and had left to see what was going on.

Now he wasn't quite sure how to go about it. He didn't mind whoever his partner(s) ended up being, if one of them was going to be random.

"Thou doest not have the right to call me by that name," Shinobu responded in a very slightly annoyed but more so disinterested tone. "Not once did I lie nor proclaim to be acquainted. You ought to be thankful, as I gave you my actual name, unlike this here device that only knows how to spout out information it gleaned from strangers' fantasies, like names given by a man whom believes in invisible crabs, or ages told to satisfy the curiosity of a boy that believes in vampires." Shinobu simply began walking away when Patches claimed the two of them had agreed to follow one another. "Keep me out of your silly partnerships and plans, by the way. Thine partnerships will only lead to death blamed on a living partner with less conviction than the killer, and as much as I dislike the needlessly tedious process, I would prefer not to lose this game because everyone else agreed to dumb rules that benefitted nobody. Look out for yourself, not for others."

Shinobu proceeded to take seat on the nearest chair, pulling a device that looked somewhat similar to a Nintendo DS from seemingly thin air and starting to play a game whilst Kotomine began conversing with Patches and her. "Thou wouldst not happen know what a pile of corpses taller than a castle looks like, would thee?" Shinobu said with a very distant and uncaring tone. "Do not compare your pitiful self-righteous extermination of the supernatural with the number of vile, filthy demons that I have seen perish. With all certainty, I have killed more abominations in a singular week of my lifetime than you have in all your years of false righteousness. Now if you do not mind, I would rather entertain myself than be dragged into your silly game of politics, lest you blame me for your inability to hold back something as petty as bloodlust."

Shinobu didn't look up from her game at all when she addressed Kotomine, clearly holding no interest in him beyond stating her position on everything. To her, none of whatever this was, held any purpose or meaning, and she saw no need to be involved with anyone else here, except maybe the white-haired boy. He seemed like he might be a good replacement for Koyomi for the time being, based on what she's seen and the info listed in the tablet. "You, white-haired boy," Shinobu spoke as she looked up from her game and at Atsushi. "I don't particularly like this whole partner thing everyone's trying to set up, but if I must have a partner, I would prefer it be someone whom is at the very least pleasant to look at."

When Pinkie’s arms tense around her body, Usagi squeezes back, just a bit, like a silent reassurance: I’m here. If nothing else, you’ve got me. Got us.

That would just have to do for now. Some people thought it was silly to bank so much on the power of friendship, but sometimes, that was all you had.

Meeting room —> Restaurant

In the restaurant, Usagi’s stomach gives a pitiful rumble at the sight of food, even in its meagre form of dry spaghetti noodles. She giggles sheepishly, hand rubbing the back of her head. Hey, she’s a growing girl, and a busy day and night with no food takes a lot out of you!

She considers her new-formed posse’s suggestions. It would make a lot of sense for the roommates to stick together when possible, she reasons, and mentally takes Pinkie and Sophie off her list of potential partners. She’s about to open her mouth and suggest Atsushi join her and Wanda, just in case they encounter trouble, because frankly Usagi’s not sure she’ll be able to do anything to fight back if someone does start a fight, but a blonde girl seemingly claims him first. She’s playing on something that keeps beeping. Usagi cocks her head at it like a puppy — okay, now that one really looks like Ami’s pocket computer, but she’s not sure what that girl could be computing now of all times. She claps her hands together to bring her own attention back to the subject at hand.

“Oh, okay! I guess if everybody’s okay with that, then that just leaves me and Wanda-san! I’m glad it works out so easily,” Usagi chirps. She’s a little relieved. At least Wanda-san could be scary when she tried. Without her brooch working, Usagi wasn’t really much stronger than one of those uncooked noodles. She had heart at least, but muscle would have been helpful too.
