Sophie felt somewhat at ease seeing Pinkie return to her normal, childish self. If, and hopefully not when, someone dies, Sophie knows Pinkie will return to that downtrodden self she once was. But Sophie didn't fret.

In truth, the only thing Sophie cares about right now back at home is Jenny. Frank’s comments weren't really comforting, as Sophie didn't know anything back at home other than suffering.

Turning to Cater, who's garish attire hurt her eyes, she spoke to him.

"Well… I guess that's a good idea," she said. She wasn't really one who was up for talking, or socializing, but it was more for Pinkie's sake.

Also, good head counts to see if someone went missing. She wouldn't say that aloud, though. Not for Pinkie’s mood, at least.

Usagi smiles at Cater upon his approach and rocks on her heels. This must be her surprise-choice message buddy!

“That’s a really good idea! Being all together every day for breakfast means we can check in and make sure everybody’s safe like they’re supposed to be. And beside, food always tastes better with friends! Food always tastes pretty good either way, though….. I guess the lesson there is that food is always good…..” Usagi puzzles out loud. One could practically see the thought bubble form above their head if they looked hard enough.

Oh! Speaking of friends (when is she not speaking of friends, these days?), Usagi fishes her tablet out of where it was tucked into her waistband. Pinkie’s message flashes at her from the screen and she giggles. With shaky fingers, she types out a message to send back:

hi pinkie!! it;s usagi. we can be mssage buddies justfor fun anyways! ^••^

Nailed it. Hey, she’s never used a touchscreen like this before, and it’s not like she’s ever been able to use a computer anyways. She shoots out another to send to Cater while she’s at it, quickly locating his profile.

hi cater!! its usagi,i think youre my messaging buddy!!!! lets remember to stay intouch!^••^

Ah well. Precision will come with practice. At least after some fumbling she’s already figured out how to write a kitty face into her messages. Very cool.

Claude Von Riegan

Ultimate Stratigist

Claude too put his device to the side once he had sent his message. "I don't know that I will wither, honestly." he told Louise as he fumbled a bit with the wyvern charm on the device. "It is interestinf how these things were tailored to be in designs we like. And how these things know so much about everyone here." he mused. Was probably no doubt the work of the psychotic bear.

He looked up at Frank's announcement. He was never really one to put blond faith on the forces above but he supposed it was reassuring to some to hear the announcement anyway. "Hm, well...I can't say for sure that's for sure. But...I hope the others in our worlds are doing okay. All of us." he stated. He had to admit he was worried about how Byleth and the others were. He'd just come back and now he up and disappeared again! Byleth was probably worried the most, with all their promises for marriage and all. Did anyone even know they were gone? Probably. If time was still running for everyone in their world surely the others must be wondering where he was.

"Yeah, I agree. Having breakfast in here together sounds reasonable." he nodded toward Cater's sughestion. "If nothing else it does let us get a head count every morning and...we'll know when to look for someone." He did his best not to mention bodies again, even though it was a very real possobility and liklihood.

"I hope everyone is happy with these as I'm not going to try that again," Clementine said once it was all finished. "Let's try and stick with our physical partners when we can, though nighttime can be an exception if we are in our rooms. We should definitely send off messages at 8AM, noon, and 10PM."

She then left to record the info on the chalkboard in the Café.

Patches groaned as the selection was made. He craned his head around the room, putting a hand to his forehead. "Stiles? You here, mate? Ah, bollocks." The self-proclaimed merchant suddenly realized he didn't particularly like the partner concept anymore. The thought of a boring stranger being attached to his every move... how could he hope to pull any of his shenanigans like that? At this point, he was just hoping that his partner, wherever he was, would turn out to be an entertaining fool.
Shinobu OshinoRestaurant

When Atsushi asked if Shinobu wished to be called by another name, she gave a faint smile. The smile was a real, honest smile, albeit it wasn't very much of one. "Pleasant to look at and actually respectful of others. The name is Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade. As it is a mouthful, however, I permit thee to refer to me as Kiss-Shot or, out of respect for thine decency, Shinobu will also suffice." Shinobu proceeded to glance toward Kotomine. "Clearly you are not above favouritism, seeing as thine mouth knows only how to spew slanderous words without any knowledge of the individual whom you spout them about. Not all bloodsucking, man-eating monsters. You mortals are a more apt example of those terms than most vampires I have known."

Shinobu stood up and closed her game, slipping it down her shirt, however the device left no visible protrusion nor did it fall through, leading any observers to likely presume it completely gone. "I digress, as it is a pitiful waste of time trying to convince a cultist that they are more twisted than most mortal-form oddities." Shinobu then proceeded to pull out her tablet and send two messages. The first was to her assigned "partner", Stiles. 'I shalt be heading to mine room and remaining there the remainder of this morning.' She then proceeded to message Patches. I shall meet thee in the room to discuss things of most strategic importance, come up with some excuse so it dost not seem like a meeting of us two, feel free to delay thine arrival however long necessary to appease the imbeciles that agreed to this ridiculous parner farce.

While he waited, Patches noticed a blip on his phone. He positioned himself so that nobody could read his screen, though he didn't exactly have a poker face, considering that his smile seemed like it was about to rip open his face. Clever girl, he muttered to himself. If she had thought this far ahead, he almost felt bad trying to fool her with his merchant persona. Considering that she had wonderfully cut into Kotomine with a series of scathing words, too, Patches was willing to spare her from any cheap tricks. At least, for now. Who knows how long until less than half of the cast remains? <Brilliant.> he responded to the text simply. Further conversation could be held later.

The knowledge worried her too. Had they been watching her before, whoever was in charge? How were they even aware that she existed? It had been decades at that point. As far as the rest of the world was concerned, she was just part of a bizarre cold case. No one would think that she even still lived - sort of - let alone know where she had been hidden. And know so much about other worlds, other times - other timelines, too. Maybe whoever they were up against had some sort of omnipotence. She was stressed out just thinking about it.

She did perk up a little at the mention of breakfast. "Do... you think we'll have to make it ourselves? Or do they have robots for that too?"

NvXaUck.jpg

After confirmed Cater's reaction when he made a direct contact with Marie, Nana chose that timing to strike up a conversation with the pair and as expected he let go of the hand almost instantly. While receiving their answers, she looked at the blonde girl with her eyebrows lowered in thought, though it appeared only briefly before she gave Marie an approving smile. Her eyes then dashed toward Cater and... Nani huh... She wryly smiled at that, unsure what to said to him in response. The girl soon found herself no longer thinking about it as Frank made his announcement.

Dream? Some sort of precognitive ability? Wait, no. He seemed to only perceive what was going on at the present time, albeit in a different world. Besides, from the way he talked it didn't look like he could actively choose what to see or dream of. Regardless, this is bad. Nana deeply thought while gave Frank an intense stare. The fact that things in their respective worlds were going on well could be a good news to a lot of people here. However, she was currently on an important mission and—

srMa54F.jpg

Oops, she stared at him for too long. Nana alerted herself and immediately came up with an awkward smile and a soft, concerning voice that should be audible to Frank. "Um... the table..."

“I think we should all meet here in the mornings and have breakfast together. That way we can all get to know each other better! And that way we can I guess, take attendance in a way lol.”

"Nice idea, Cay-cay!" Nana merrily talked from her seat. She looked at Marie and seemed to acknowledge her spacing out, but before she could do anything about it, her messaging partner showed up.

"Ah yeah, nice to meet you again, Mono-san! I already saw your reply, let's see..." Despite claiming to be a person who couldn't read the air, Nana immediately dragged a chair from the nearby table and purposely placed it opposite to Marie out of consideration for both parties. "If you don't mind you can share the table with us while I explain what we have discussed to you. By the way, YOU should listen to this too!"

Turning to Shinoa whose face was buried deep in the table, Nana intensely tickled her sides. While they only spent a single night together, the girl found out that her roommate had problem finding an equal friend thanks to her esteemed family name and her past experience. So by approaching in the right direction, they managed to get closer to each other enough for her to be doing this.

After thoroughly explained Clem's and Cater's ideas from earlier, Nana looked at the board. As a matter of fact, a human's decision making and concentration could be hindered by fatigue, hunger and drowsiness. Until now, the ultimate class leader would look up the profile page every time she talked to or mentioned someone new, even though she already drilled all of them into her head. Aside from giving them a sense of security, it also painted herself as a girl with bad memory to someone who bothered to observe. Despite that, she didn't give much thought after finished explaining and picked her smartphone up, her usual sharpness clouded by sleep deprivation.

"And that's the concept of it" *yawn* "Pardon. By the way, it seems like your physical partner isn't here yet, so you will have to find this man, Hugo Pennyworth, and stick with him—" Nana said that after scanned the area for only a few seconds. Normally, in a place with this large amount of people, especially unfamiliar ones, it would take a lot longer for an ordinary person to confirm that the person they are looking for is not there. Not to mention, she scrolled toward Hugo's picture on her phone without any error or delay in movement, indicating her familiarity with the profile page.

6r5w0eU.jpg

Suddenly realizing all that in the middle of her line, Nana continued "—but well, it was a while ago that I tried to find him for you. He might be here now so you can try looking for him!" While her affable smile was perfect and she tried to make it sound as natural as she could, the girl knew she made one hell of an unnatural excuse. It's not like anyone around her would even notice the different between her having bad or good memory, but when there was someone like Patches among the 32 players, presenting herself as harmless as possible never hurt...

It seemed that for once, he had done something helpful! Well, as helpful as telling people that he had a dream was "helpful", but still! He had about two seconds to feel slightly smug about that, however.
Nana alerted herself and immediately came up with an awkward smile and a soft, concerning voice that should be audible to Frank. "Um... the table..."
"Oh. Umm, yeah, let me ju-" Frank would have gotten down from the table, if someone didn't just jump up behind him.
“Finally some good news everyone! I don’t exactly know how you did that but pretty pog anyway my guy.” He gave Frank a friendly pat on the back.

“But anyway, I have a big brain idea.”

He paused- for dramatic effect, of course.

“I think we should all meet here in the mornings and have breakfast together. That way we can all get to know each other better! And that way we can I guess, take attendance in a way lol.” He hadn’t even realized he completely stole Frank’s thunder. It was a bad habit of his he really needed to break. He was just too excited about his idea.
Wh- Frank was completely bewildered. And was starting to become upset, as what had happened began to sink in. Pog? That sounded familiar, weirdly enough. But seriously??? The guy couldn't have waited a minute? Aaaaaaaand everyone was already seeming more excited about sitting together and eating then about his news. It was a silly thing to get upset over, he admitted to himself. Still, he felt like he had something to prove. Even though he was The Ultimate Praetor, he only had the title because of an emergency. He had to be more leader-y.

Frank also realized that he probably shouldn't be thinking about this atop of a table. Giving a disgruntled look to Cater, Frank climbed back down the table and took a seat. Pulling out his phone, he sent a text message to Butterrs, his physical partner

--== BUTTERS STOTCH ==--
Butters had been doing a good job of remaining unnoticed off to the side where no one could notice him. At this point, Butters was full aware of his partners. He may be off to the side trying to remain unnoticed, but that doesn't mean he's not a good listener! However, this in and of itself is a bit of a predicament for him because now he has people who're supposed to rely on him? Oh jeez, now he has to talk to people. Butters can't help but think that this will do nothing but lead to bad things. All of these people are so much older than him from what he can tell, and now people are just supposed to kill each other? Yeah, no, count him out. He's just gonna go hide and wait until Eric or his dad come out from hiding and tell him it's all some sort of sick twisted practical joke.

At least, that's what he thought he was going to do until he was approached by Menma, with Clementine not too far away.

As Menma woke, her body screamed in pain- and her head hurt. As her eyes darted around her surroundings, she recalled what happened yesterday; and where she was.

"Fuck."

She stood to her feet with a few moans and groans, seeing Clementine's memo light up on her tablet- she made her way to where the other girl was.

View attachment 963522

She let out a deep sigh as everyone bickered- Menma didn't care who she was paired with, if they got in her way she'd put them in their place; she didn't need a partner in the first place. Her gaze then shot to the blond boy who had been hiding from her since they started, and as much as he thought he was hidden- she had seen him creeping around.

"What's your deal?" She said, before standing to her feet and walking over to him.

Clementine

Clementine was on her back from the Café when she got Sophie's text. She stared at it for long enough that it disappeared on her screen, annoying her that they could not hold on to their messages. She had yet to talk to Sophie much though she had wondered if her title meant that she came from a place like Clementine's. As Sophie seemed to be suffering memory loss, perhaps it was possible. Clementine wiped her hands on her pants to rid herself of the chalk dust before responding. "I know what I've survived," she texted back, though after a moment realized that might sound a bit brusque. "I never considered there might be a place where I didn't have to survive every day."

As she wheeled herself up to Menma and Butters, she texted Sophie once more. "Sorry, are you experiencing memory loss?"

She then gave Menma and Butters a smile, though never seemed the most sociable. "How are you guys holding up?" she asked.

Before Clementine could finish saying the word 'up', Butters let out a rather visceral yelp due to the fact that he was mainly caught off guard. He'd quickly slam his eyes shut, whilst flinging his arms around and backing up slowly... Even though his back was already pressed against the wall.

afraid-butters-stotch.gif

"UWWWEEEHHH--"

Butters would then proceed to flail so hard that he would ultimately fall over and land on his rear, and the moment he actually did hit the ground, he stopped squealing. He'd slowly open his eyes to look up at Clementine and Menma. However, just the sight of seeing people approach and talk to him was enough to make him flinch yet again. He began to stammer quite quickly to get his point across.

"I-I-I was just-- I was just sittin' back here t-twiddlin' my thumbs, I swear!" Butters would start, replying to Menma's question first, "My deal? Wh-- I-- I don't know what you mean! I mean, I-I was followin' you around for a little bit, but that's just 'cause we woke up in the same room together and stuff!" As that sentence proceeded on, Butters got more quiet out of embarrassment due to ultimately confessing that he had been quietly following Menma around. She seems like the violent type. What if she bites his head off?! Oh jeez... Butters' head would then whip to the side a bit, so that he was looking at Clementine. His voice raised against as he started a new sentence.

"A-And I'm fine! I mean, I-I'm scared out my britches right now... B-But, I'm fine! I promise!" Butters would say, his tone seeming as if he wanted to come across as inconspicuous. However, in case it wasn't obvious, his voice was shaky and he came across as nothing short of terrified. He would just hold his hands up in self defense. Even though he wasn't defending himself from anything in the current moment. That's when the phone in his pocket would vibrate. Butters proceeds to hold eye contact with Clementine as he'd slowly pull the phone out of his pocket. He'd only look at the phone once he held it right in front of his face.

Yes! This is it! An out! Just what he needed to get out of this social situation! He'd proceed to show Menma and Clementine the text, pointing to the phone with his free hand! He'd proceed to slowly inch towards the door as he spoke.

"Hey! Look at this, I-I just got a text from my buddy Frank! I gotta go! Y-You two have a good one!" Butters would hastily state before quickly turning to scramble out of the conference room. He'd run as fast he could through the halls until he eventually found himself laying face down in the restaurant, due to tripping and falling the moment he got in the room. Seconds later, he'd slowly roll over onto his back, staring at the ceiling whilst panting heavily. That was a close one! He almost had to socialize with people he didn't know!

... He'd slowly look off into the distance, seeing all the people in the restaurant. Aw jeez, he forgot that the reason he came here was because his partner wanted him to. He literally threw himself out of one social situation into another. This is the exact opposite of what he wanted. He'd quickly scramble to his feet, looking over to where Frank was sitting. Aw, jeez... Well, it's too late now. He's here, regardless of whether or not he likes it. God, and he didn't even text Frank back! He just kinda... Ran on over! He'd clear his throat, raising his hands up to adjust an imaginary tie, before slowly walking over to where Frank was sitting.

Butters would awkwardly sit down at the table across from him, very obvious beads of sweat rolling down his face. He would say nothing to Frank. He's not sure what to say. He just... Clears his throat again out of sheer awkwardness. He knew that if he tried to open up his mouth to start the conversation, he'd just stutter and ramble about nothing relating to what Frank probably wanted to talk with him about... So, yeah. He's just gonna sit quietly and hope that Menma and Clementine don't come hunting him down.

Restaurant

Pinkie lifted both her arms in accomplishment when Sophie agreed, her saying how eating together was a good idea. Because Sophie said yes, Pinkie could go to these so-called breakfast meetings! It was the best way to get to know everyone, and Pinkie would always want to do that, no matter the situation! Even if Pinkie was absolutely sure that her friends from her world would save them all here, she still wanted to get to know everyone. Even if they were all from different universes, they all seemed like potential friends waiting to happen! Maybe if Pinkie became friends with others here, she could still visit them in the near future... somehow! Pinkie had no idea what happened in others' worlds, though, so in other people's eyes, it may seem strange if they knew Pinkie wanted to visit them.

"Woo-hoo!! We'll have so much fun, Sophie! It'll be funner than the time I ate twenty cupcakes in four minutes, 500 milliseconds, 7,568,291 microseconds, and 5.0000E+8 nanoseconds! It was the greatest! I had a sugar rush for days!!" To anyone who was annoyed by her hyperactivity, it would seem like a nightmare for them: the energetic Pinkie becoming more energized by sugar. "Eating cupcakes with others is always better than eating them by yourself, though! Well, except if you're eating them next to a cupcake-destroyer. Then it's never, ever better!!"

She frowned, as if disapproving of anyone who liked obliterating cupcakes, but got interrupted by the rumbling of her bright-pink tablet. Was it Wanda responding to her? Maybe Usagi? Or maybe even someone she wasn't introduced to yet, like those robot figures she saw in her PROFILE app! She smiled eagerly, immediately going onto her tablet and navigating to the MESSAGE app. While Usagi's message did not have the greatest grammar usage, Pinkie had immediately understood it. Informal grammar was basically Pinkie's second language!

She shot Usagi a quick, joyful grin after reading before making her fingers fly across the screen keyboard to type the more informal message:

"2 mssg friends!! wait, whios ur real messg buddy? mine is w anda
- P. Pie"
"Two message friends! Wait, who's your real message buddy? Mine is Wanda."

Even though Pinkie could just look at the list of partners to get her answer, she still asked Usagi this question. She much preferred letting others have the satisfaction of answering than doing it herself, after all! Even though Pinkie didn't know Usagi's message partner, she did pick up that Wanda was Usagi's physical partner, since the people around her were talking about it previously. Thinking about all of these past moments, it seemed to be tiring Pinkie even further, letting her give out a dramatic, exasperated yawn after sending her message. This yawn was not hidden at all from Pinkie, and it seemed as though she was yelling out that she was fatigued. She rubbed her dark eyes, giving a mumble of "I'm tired" before looking at... Claude, she believed his name was.

She tilted her head to the side, as if not getting Claude's reference. She was a smart girl, so she would have most likely realized what he was talking about. However, she was on-purposely not considering the bad things in all of this, as she was positive that nothing would never happen. This could either be described as full-on hope... or denial. "Why would we need to look for anyone? Ooh, ooh! Are we going to play hide-and-seek later? I call seeker!!" She waved the hand that wasn't holding her tablet wildly in the air, grinning widely. Anyone who saw her panicked, deflated side of her earlier, though, would know exactly what Pinkie was doing. She was so filled with hope that they would be rescued that she was completely denying any reasoning.

She now looked at another girl, whose name was named Louise, asking if they would make their own food together or if robots would make it for them. Pinkie thought about this, as if hesitating, before giving two thumbs and saying cheerfully, "Don't you worry! Your dear old Pinkie Pie will make food for you if robots won't!! I wouldn't be able to throw parties without my baking skills, after all!" Pinkie had said this last sentence with Sophie earlier, but this seemed to be majorly different. She now said it as if she meant it more: with more energy.

Frank was now climbing off the table, giving off an upset look to the other boy who was on the table with him. Pinkie seemed to immediately notice this, now frowning about how this male wasn't happy. She had always wanted everyone to smile, and she couldn't bear to see him unhappy. Now she wanted to see the Ultimate Praetor with his frown upside down! She noticed him take out his tablet, and after he placed it back down on the table, she gave him a cheerful smile of encouragement. She had wondered what caused him to get grumpy, but whatever the reason, she hoped that she could somehow transfer good feelings over to him. He could shapeshift into an eagle and other animals of various kinds, so he could very much shapeshift his face into a smile!

Her attention transferred away from him, though, when a blond-haired boy stumbled next to him. Pinkie looked at him in slight surprise at his appearance, but quickly smiled joyfully at him as well. Happiness should be spread to everyone and anyone! After giving a smile to both Frank and the blond-haired boy... Butterscotch? Was that his name? She creased her eyebrows confusingly, opening her tablet yet again to go to the PROFILE app to find his name. She had to get this right... Butters Stotch! This tiredness was really taking place on her if she was forgetting others' names like this.

She lowered her tablet again and stroked her chin now, as if wondering about something. "Louise has a very good point, though! Since there's a lot of fancy pants technology here, would we have a bunch of super cool robots come to us, or would we have to make delicious foods all by ourselves? We can't wait to be saved on empty stomachs!"

Clementine - Restaurant

Clementine watched Butters as he stumbled over his words and made some kind of excuse to get away from the pair of them. She felt for him, though she wasn't really sure what to make of him. He was pretty young for being an apparent criminal. In fact, it occurred to Clementine that a lot of them were pretty young... or at least, appeared to be pretty young. Some people had ages in the hundreds, which Clementine felt had to be a lie of some sort.

Looking down at her tablet, Clementine decided to shoot Sophie a response.

"Anxiety meds? I'm sorry, that sounds difficult. I don't really know much about that stuff. Maybe your roommate can help you sleep somehow? As for where I come from, it's all I've known for years now. I guess I'm just used to it now."

Looking up from her tablet, Clementine smiled at Menma. "Hey, Menma," she said. Now that Butters was gone, she could get down to business. "I chose you as my partner, actually. After what happened with that bear and staying the night in your room, I think I trust you more than most here. I wanted to talk to you privately about a few things that have been on my mind."

Just like that, the partners were chosen; Hamilton with a physical partner named Sera, and over the tablet with one Yumeko. Still fascinated with the device, he took to contacting her first—figuring out how to operate the thing was no long feat, even if the mechanics themselves made very little sense to him; he had all of yesterday to fiddle with it. Even with its limited functions, it was nothing short of a marvel to the 17th century man.

Concerning the 'spaghetti' matter, it would appear that, Yumeko, I have the honor to be Your Obedient Servant.
- A. Ham

A tap on the shoulder then pulled Hamilton's attention from the tablet. The woman in question introduced herself as Hamilton's physical partner, Sera. His countenance morphed to one of friendliness, and he stepped back to perform a polite bow. "Alexander Hamilton at your service, Sera. Best we pray to God to preserve us, Sera; lest we fall in this miserable versus, Sera." He rose gracefully, straightening the blue coat rung around him. Hamilton waved off her jestful suggestion with a singular loud laugh. "Such a fate would be 'shite' indeed, but do not fret, for in my home, honor provides us a tight concede. I have more to look forward to than a midnight bleed." His gaze did not keep on Sera this time, either.

It was Frank's spiel that caught Hamilton. A brief stint about a dream he had, and a vision to his own world. According to his dream, everyone's worlds were going on as usual, in peace...? Needless to say, Hamilton bought none of it; partly because that was no reassurance for everyone here, but mostly because that would have meant he had people waiting for him. Slowly waiting for him, realizing he was gone and not even a body to remember him by. "He sounds like a fan of grasping straws," he remarked to himself.

Sera just gave Hamilton a look. "First of all. The Gods won't keep us safe. We are going to keep each other safe. Unless we kill each other...but let's not do that, yeah?" Sera's gaze followed Hamilton towards Frank. "Some people just like to hear themselves talk...and they're mostly full of shite," Sera said aloud, not exactly aimed at Hamilton. "If you actually want to get things done you get up and do it."

Cater noticed the look Frank gave him as he stepped off the table, which clued him in. Oh shoot, he did it again. As hard as he tried, sometimes he was a little dense when it came to others. He tended to be in his own little world sometimes. He made a mental note to talk to Frank later.

"Best! Idea! EVER!!"

“That’s a really good idea!”

"Nice idea, Cay-cay!"

It seemed those who heard his were in agreement of his plan. Nice. Now to send a mass text out to everyone. Cater sat down on the edge of the table and pulled out his phone. He opened the message app to find a notification from one Usagi-

hi cater!! its usagi,i think youre my messaging buddy!!!! lets remember to stay intouch!^••^

He had been so busy with Marie he forgot all about the random messaging buddies. He didn’t know much about Usagi, so he went to check her profile.

Tsukino Usagi

Ultimate Magical Girl

Sweet | Silly | Idealistic

Magical girl? Like the kind in anime? Maybe she knew magic and went to a school for it like he did! Or… maybe not. But based on her description, they would get along just fine.

heyyy agi! guess we are lol. cant wait to chat often! /gen im vibin at the table I was standing on if you wanna bring your partner and chill with us! ^_^

Aaand send. Now to send out a message or everyone.

hey all! it’s ya boy cay-cay! just so everyone has the memo, were gonna be meeting at the restaurant every morning. let’s say 8? we can all have brekky together, itll be gas. be there or be laaame lol /j

When he looked back up, two more people had joined the table. Across from Frank was a small blond kid who was just kinda, staring across. Mono had also joined the crew.

Cater hopped off the table and sat down next to Marie again. He was just about to start asking Marie some questions about herself when

“Oh pardon me, gotta use the lil boys’ room. I’ll brb!”

He got up from the table and politely pushed his chair in, completely already forgetting about the partner agreement.

komari_bk.pngTime went on for the others around her, but to Marie, it felt frozen. In fact, she willed for it to freeze. Yet, no such thing came to pass, and it was she alone who seemed to remain stuck in an unending moment. She simply couldn't escape her thoughts. What if Ren was in danger? What if he was all alone and scared, just like she was? What if... what if something terrible happened to him, all because she wasn't there to keep him safe, as was her sworn duty?

"It... hurts..."

It was a soft murmur, probably practically inaudible to the group at the table, all of them being wrapped up in conversations of their own. But for Marie, the anxiety of it all was so, so much, and her figure began to lightly tremble under its weight. She... didn't like this. She didn't like this at all. She had only just achieved the capacity to feel in the past few days, and the maelstrom of pain and fear and despair was almost too much for her to bear. Her hand shakily reached up, lightly clutching at her chest. Where the 'hole' that Reinhard had opened was, gushing and teeming with emotion that she didn't believe was her own. Was this what Ren was feeling? If so, how did he bear it? The thought of him suffering alone, possibly even on his deathbed at the hands of the LDO, made her want to break down and cry. She barely even registered the newcomers to the table, or poor Frank's misfortune in the form of having the spotlight stolen. However, she did seem to slightly snap out of it when the boys began climbing off the table, a heart-wrenching urgency and dismay about her as she tried to calm the tidal wave of emotions inside.

"You, um... You said this was a dream, yes? What... did you see?" she pleaded, softly; a brokenness in her eyes that conveyed far more than words could ever hope to achieve. "Are you sure it was real? Did... d-did you happen to see a boy, with blue hair?" Maybe if these dreams of his really were real, then he'd know how Ren was? It was a chance she had to pursue. But unfortunately, before she could even get a proper answer, Cater was getting up to leave with some explanation she'd missed entirely. Frantic, she stood up from her seat too, reaching out to grasp his sleeve once again like he might simply vanish if she didn't. "Wait!" she yelped, looking at him like he'd been about to commit the highest act of betrayal. "I... I-I thought you said you wouldn't leave..." It was a good thing she didn't start crying. Given how devastating it was already to see her looking downtrodden, adding tears to the equation very well might've proven lethal. "Please don't go. Not without me. I-- I don't want you to lose your head..." Welp. Looks like she still had a misconception or two about that joke of his earlier... and also, uh, didn't realize where he'd been intending to go. Oops.

Shinoa Hiiragi

Location: Restaurant

After tagging along... or rather being dragged by Nana, Shinoa's mind shut down the moment she learned that nothing serious had happened. Fortunately, Nana provided her a table and a seat where she could go back to sleep immediately. What a nice roommate she was. In their talk last night too, it seemed like Nana always knew what to say and Shinoa enjoyed chatting with her so much that they both stayed up late. Come to think of it, Nana seemed to have unlimited supply of energy and happiness and always gave that "I can be friends with everyone and you can always rely on me" aura as expected of someone who hold the title "Ultimate Class Leader". Even though Shinoa had her fair share of bullshit experience both from when she was a young girl and from recent events, Monokuma's announcement yesterday still left her shocked and speechless for a long time, but not Nana. That girl immediately coped with it and even came up with a plan. Sweet, gentle, yet reliable. Shinoa started to compare Nana with her older sister...

"Eeeeeh!!"

And was abruptly woken up by the tickle from that not-her-sister, which Shinoa responded with an adorable scream. Before she could protest, Nana started explaining about the physical and messaging partner to her and Mono. Shinoa looked at the board and sighed in relief upon discovering that her physical partner is Nana. Granted, that move just now was uncalled for, but it's safe to say that Nana was the closest friend she have here and being glued to her all day didn't sound that bad.

Then, Shinoa looked at another section and picked up her tablet to search the name Shikuro. The word "Demon" left quite a bad taste in her mouth, but she soon disregarded its connection with the same word in her world and started typing "Hello" and paused. Frankly speaking, her world could be considered post-apocalyptic to some degree and leisurely texting someone was definitely not her thing. After a while, she looked at the screen which now had the message. "Hello. My name is Shinoa and we are messaging partners. Nice to meet you." before sending it.

Shinoa then saw the new message from Cater. As she was reading it, the man himself returned to the table, but before Shinoa could say a word he left again "Oh my, what do we have here? An ultimate playboy?" With her usual grin, she said that to Cater's back after seeing how he ditched Marie. Granted, while saying that, she tucked Nana's uniform.

Shinobu's attention was briefly caught when donuts were mentioned. She looked over toward Sophie, her eyes almost sparkling for but a brief moment before she returned to walking off toward her room, having received confirmation from Atsushi that he would be escorting her there. After being out of earshot of everyone else, Shinobu sighed and began ranting in an annoyed tone.

"The nerve of that old wrinkly wannabe priest. Who does he think he is, acting like some saint whom has done no wrong. What does he know about vampires? Someone ought to bring a mirror to the living space, that'll throw him off. He probably thinks all vampires have no reflection. I bet he doesn't even know a single thing about the mirror world despite professing knowledge on the supernatural. He probably didn't notice I even have a shadow, so much for him being oh-so-knowledgeable about vampires if he doesn't even know the basics of what differentiates a common vampire from a true vampire."

After ranting for a while on the way to her room, she pulled a hand mirror from thin air, checking and confirming that she did in fact have a reflection, and looking down and confirming the presence of her shadow. "They indeed are present, are they not?" Shinobu questions, slightly directing the question at Atsushi but in a somewhat absent-minded tone. "Honestly, this is why nobody likes stupid priests, all they know how to do is blame everyone else for their own sins and benefit from their fabricated guilt."

srMa54F.jpg

After covering her minor slip-up, Nana looked at her roommate who seemed to signal something to her. Following her gaze, the girl saw both Cater walking away and Marie's miserable state. "Excuse me, Mono-san!" She said that and quickly left her seat before rushing to the blonde girl. Clenching her teeth a bit, the ultimate class leader firmly grabbed that petite arm and said in a tone that completely hid her anguish.

"Come on, we have to stick together!"

Following that, Nana dragged the two girls along until they reached the front of the bathroom area. "I will wait here to regroup with Cay-cay." After announced that loud enough for Cater to hear from inside the bathroom, she lowered her voice "Shinoa-chan, can you take care of Marie-chan in there? She might not know how modern toilet work." Considering how her roommate asked for her help earlier, she actually cared about those around her and would likely accept the request.

NvXaUck.jpg

After finally being alone, Nana stared at another area nearby. Even from this distance, she didn't miss the change from when she explored it last night. Without making any sound, the girl quickly left the bathroom area and entered the gift shop. This damned face everywhere! the girl thought while examining the newly added merchandise. After carefully looking for sign of someone coming and observing cameras' angles and movements if there was any, she picked a few small items which she deemed useful and hid them in her uniform's pocket. She then glanced at the section with board games. While she loved a lot of them, especially tactical ones, it would be better to not take them now and hide the fact that she had stepped in here from others. But maybe just a one small game is fine. A deck of cards in a luxurious case with Monokuma's face in the center was the last item to be put in Nana's pocket before she left the shop.

On her way back, Nana spotted another area which she hadn't explored last night. A peek into it gave her exactly what she need. After all, no matter how fast she acted, it wouldn't be faster than a man normally using toilet. After reuniting with the group who might have wondered about her brief disappearance, she would cheerfully say this to them "Guys! I just found a basement with a lot of foods!"

"H-huh..?!"

A small yip of surprise and confusion escaped Marie's lips as Nana firmly gripped her arm, pulling her away from her distraught pursuit of her partner. They had to stick together? "But--" she attempted to protest, her eyebrows furrowing as she stole a glance back over her shoulder. How could Nana call this 'sticking together' when she was up and ditching Cater? They had literally just sworn some manner of strange oath that involved them being unable to part from one another without undergoing strange, severe consequences, hadn't they? Plus, beyond even that, she'd still been hoping for answers from Frank. "B-but-- I--"

Her protests apparently went unheard, or perhaps simply ignored, and the blonde found herself thoroughly confused by the spectacle that followed. In all the chaos, she had lost track of Cater, and failed to even realize that Nana had lead them after him after all. And so, she somehow wound up in the bathroom with Shinoa, dazed and confused and still full of so, so much grief. But at least for now, she seemed too confused to truly feel the full weight of her despair, and she glanced around their surroundings for a moment in clear puzzlement before she awkwardly piped up.

1646550294845.png

"Why are we here?"

Though Shinoa had no way of knowing it, Marie was actually comparable to her own Shikama Doji, in a way; she was no demon by any means, but she was something that lived long ago. Something that walked in human form, but could likewise take on the form of a weapon bound to the very soul of her master. A curved blade that rend the heads of foes from their bodies indiscriminately. In other words, she wasn't human, and she didn't truly have bodily function either; so the tormented soul really hadn't the slightest need to be in this place. All she had wanted was to make sure Cater didn't die, so why had the other two girls brought her here, anyway? A beat passed, and she seemed to come to her own conclusion. "...Ah. Is he just in one of these stalls? Is that why Nana pulled us here...?" Another few seconds went by, and Marie's eyes became just a little more wary and pensive. "Also, um, it's been bugging me for a little while, but..." She struggled for a few moments, as though unsure just what the words she was looking for were. "The soul that rests next to yours... It's very scary, Shinoa. It reminds me of the one who put this hole in my chest."

The words falling from the girl's mouth were simply ludicrous. They made no sense, yet the often nervous girl spoke them with chilling certainty that could've shaken the very air. It would be obvious to Shinoa that Marie meant the demon that lurked inside of her, but how she'd gleaned such knowledge was completely up to the imagination. Moreover, the ‘hole’ comment she made seemed strange as well, given that there were no signs of any sort of impalement or unnatural gaps in Marie’s chest. Regardless, the peasant girl focused on her for only a few seconds longer before she freed the ashen-haired girl from her gaze and went back to curiously observing the bathroom as though she hadn't said anything odd to begin with. "This place is very big... And those objects seem strange, too, don't they?"

Menma gave a raised brow, unimpressed look as Butters scuttled away- turning her attention to Clementine, but stopping as her tablet lit up. As she read she sighed deeply in annoyance, as yet another person fret over her.

"I'm fine, don't worry about it." She then put the device in her jacket, looking back up at the girl in front of her.

She was confused as to why Clementine would choose, let alone trust her- but Menma deep down was scared of the whole situation, she hated needing help; but she trusted the other girl.

"Spill," she said, anxious to know the other's thoughts.

Gods, why did he feel so awkward? There was a look in the Ultimate Decapitors eyes, one that Frank was unfamiliar to seeing. It told him far more that he wanted to know, and how badly she needed to know this question. His answer probably wouldn't help much, however. After all, he had only seen things on his world, not hers...

Opening his mouth, preparing to say the cold, hard truth, Frank's words dropped back down his throat as Marie suddenly left her seat going after Cater?
"I... I-I thought you said you wouldn't leave..." It was a good thing she didn't start crying. Given how devastating it was already to see her looking downtrodden, adding tears to the equation very well might've proven lethal. "Please don't go. Not without me. I-- I don't want you to lose your head..."
Lose his head??? Frank was spared from these confusing thoughts however, as his physical partner decided to make himself known. Out of the corner of his eye, he also saw most of their table leaving to go to the bathroom.
He resisted the urge to bang his head on the table from the sheer awkwardness. Butters was looking like he had just commited a murder (Bad analogy on his part), what with the sweat on his face and the way he looked. Frank decided not to say anything about that. A rumbling from his stomach came, and he looked down.

"So......" Looks like Frank had caught the awkward disease too, "You want to check out the kitchen? I'm kind of hungry myself."

"So then, you're a true vampire where you're from?" He asked, giving a slight tilt of his head in his curiosity. As far as he was aware, vampires did not exist in his world outside of fiction.

"Ah, yes they're there." He answered her question regardingher shadow and such, though at her last comments about priests he gave a thoughtful hum.

"I'm sure there are some priests who are genuine, yet Kotomine...well, he's got an air about him that I don't like, but I guess we have to deal with it for now while we're stuck here." The weretiger sighed.

A moment of silence passed before he asked, "Is that an ability of yours? Being able to make objects appear?" He wondered, was it some form of pocket dimension ability?

Very cool.

Being quite for what feels like days, The Ultimate Witch hovered over usagi's shoulder. She was seemingly lost in thought. A large sigh filled the room as Wanda's cape swooped as turned towards the group. At first, Wanda was early still, then slowly crumbled as she gained the attention of the group.

Restaurant > Cafe - Clementine

At Menma's confirmation, Clementine gave a quick look around the room. The group they were with, most were a lively set of people. Beyond that, everyone seemed to share the same feeling of being on edge. For some of them, that feeling might have been new, but Clementine had been on edge for as long as she could remember. This place and these people made no sense to her, but she was somehow still in her element. The last thing Clementine was going to do here was die at the hands of another.

"Let's talk in the Cafe," she said.

The day had stretched on, with most of it being taken up by the earlier partner choices and the bluster that followed. It was almost evening by the time Clementine had settled into her conversation with Menma in the Cafe. It was less popular than the restaurant, so it felt a bit better to talk there.

"So, it's reasonable to think one or more of us are secretly working behind the scenes," Clementine was saying. She gripped the handles of her wheelchair as her thoughts tumbled through her head. "Maybe it's them who will start the killing. A little warm-up to get us going. I've made up a list who I think they might be, but you can't share this with anyone, got that?" She waited a moment for Menma to understand before continuing.

"This isn't just based off the profiles we were given because I'm not sure we can trust those entirely. Besides, why would they say the traitor is someone manipulative? This is why I don't think it's Nana, even though I'm watching out for her. No, more likely... Someone like Faust, who seems really fishy but is being presented as someone we can trust. Tobi's also at the top of my list, considering that whole costume trick he pulled. Why would they let him do that? I also suspect the priest and Wanda. There's something about them I don't like. I'd also say those two girls... Trixie and Sunset. I think they are perfectly disengaged enough to be suspicious. I'd say I'm most suspicious of Trixie of the two, just based on the little I've seen."

Clementine went silent for a long moment. She was trusting Menma with a lot. Her choices were slim, all things considered. She thought they were okay for now though, because it was still early. There was not yet enough tension for people to just start killing each other... was there?

She was about to speak up when the monitor in the Cafe suddenly turned on. In fact, the monitors across the entire building turned on at once to display Monokuma casually sitting alone.

MA.png

"Ahem! This is an announcement from your host, Monokuma! The time is now 10:00 pm. Nighttime has officially begun. Soon the gate to the restaurant will be closed. Anyone still within must evacuate that area or face punishment! Time for sleep, everybody. Killers, this is your chance to strike. Victims, you have my condolences! Sweet dreams!"
Clementine shook her head at what she was seeing. "I'm going to sleep in my room tonight," she said to Menma, turning back to her. "I actually want to have a conversation with my roommate and see where her head is at. Try to stay safe, okay?"

"wasnt exactly looking for help, its fine," Sophie texted to Clementine.

As the text from Cater came in about meeting in the restaurant for breakfast every morning, at least, she thinks, her face twisted in confusion.

"what the fuck are you even saying?"

When the announcement came, Sophie placed a hand on Pinkie’s shoulder, "Come on, let's get some sleep,"

Sophie made her way to her room and collapsed on the bed, utterly exhausted, the prospect of a killer the furthest thing from her mind as she muttered a quiet "Good night," to Pinkie.

After bidding goodnight to Claude, Louise walked back to her room, sending a text to Tobi to notify him of her whereabouts. She likely wasn't going to sleep tonight. Even without the imminent threat of death, chances were she'd have - either dreams of the past, or whatever those weird little adventures were. The last thing she wanted was to be stabbed in the heart while picking the little decisions she was used to on a heist, or in the desert, or somewhere equally random. She wouldn't put it past Mark to find something like that funny.

The former attorney stepped into her room, sitting in a tired slump on her bed. After a moment, she sighed, her head leaning against her hands, staring quietly at the floor.
