Louise hesitated for a moment, evidently still uncomfortable with the m-word being thrown around so casually. Even in the void she never spoke it, although to be fair it was a lot easier there. "...maybe we could lock up any possible weapons? Can't - kill anyone if there's nothing to kill them with. And in case the weapon has a different use that - that's required, we'd hold a vote to let that item be temporarily moved from lockup." She still hadn't elaborated on the house comment, but she figured no one would want to hear about that anyway.

View attachment 962694"Oh... I like this one," Monokuma said, eyeing Shinobu. "I do have half a mind to let you all run wild in a game of slaughter and survival, but that's simply not how this works! You clearly misunderstand what goes into a murder! The determination, the grit, the despair... Watching someone fight desperately to hide their sin is a fascinating experience! Why do you think people love crime shows so much, huh? It's the mystery! Frankly, I don't know why more of you aren't more excited."

He then turned his attention to Hamilton and Marie. "Ah... of course you'd want to know all that. Your little brains must be turning so fast right now! You see, it doesn't matter at all what anyone has to gain from this. It just is what it is! This is your reality now! Blame me or blame God, I don't care! Besides, we don't have to worry about little things like permission and release forms here." Monokuma put a paw to his chin in thought. "Though, maybe you did sign something before you got here and you just don't remember... Think about that at all? Of course, the traitor totally knows, so I'd watch out for them."

"Wait..." The bear scratched his chin further when Stiles spoke up. "What? Oh, of course, yeah. A ton of you have already killed before, but that doesn't matter here! Your slate is wiped clean! I would maybe talk about that if I was you guys, considering that probably gives a bit of an advantage, you think? If you really want a reason for someone to kill you, go ahead and destroy their tablet! You'd really be giving them a disadvantage! You need it to open just about all the locks! Of course, we're not idiots. It's not that easy to break them, just so you know."

Monokuma had nothing to say about Nana's speech or proposal. Perhaps for him, it meant the game was truly afoot now.

Clementine looked up at Frank and nodded. Too much had happened all at once for the girl to really register it all. She pushed herself up using the desk so that she could grab hold of Frank and lean on to him. It seemed that for her and a few others, a trip to the bathrooms was now necessary.

"Probably 'cause you're too eager?" Sera pointed out to the weird bear. "You just need to let the murder happen naturally. You can't force that."

A beat.

"Or no I suppose if you're an assassin and kill for money...ooooh are you going to pay us? Is that what you're trying to do?" Not that Sera would do it...yet anyway.

The others are all yelling. The girl with the crutches is hitting at the bear, but he still won’t let go, his dirty little hands are still wrapped around that girl’s throat, but Usagi’s throwing all her weight to the ground and he’s still not moving and his eye is beeping faster and faster and fasterfasterfasterfasterfasterfa—

BOOM

Usagi’s thrown backwards by the force of the explosion. She hits the wall and crumples to the ground with a thud.

“…..-ᴏ, ɴᴏ!! NO!!—“

“….—ɪɴᴅ ᴄᴏ
ᴠᴇʀ….!-“

There’s more shouting. More voices. And with them, a horrible swell of dread within her. This much she knows; even veiled through the shrill ringing that circles her ears.

Usagi tries with no small effort to pull her legs under herself to stand. They don’t budge an inch. Instead a rolling wave of ache runs through her, lungs to spine, forcing the air out of her with a whine.

Okay. That’s okay. Start slow. Ride the wave. Deep breaths, in and out. Don’t feel the pain; feel the swell of your lungs in inhale instead. The steady vacuum of exhale. Breathe. But make it like this:

INHALEexhaleINHALEexhaleINHALEexhaleINHALEexhaldINHALEexhaleinhaleexhaleinhaleexhaldinhaleexhaleinhaleexhaleinhaleexhaldinhaleexhale

Feeling comes back to her body all at once. Usagi jolts upright and her eyes fly open with a gasp.

Her body aches something fierce, only spurned by the frantic heave of her chest. It hurts, but she manages to stumble to her feet, clutched at the wall, so she figures she hasn’t broken anything; just bruised.

Her eyes blur on the ends as she drags her gaze around the room. The bear’s still there. But the girl he had in a chokehold is busy being fussed over by someone else; Usagi lets herself sag a bit in relief that, even if injured, nobody’s been blown to bits.

Pinkie Pie is looking terribly worse for wear, where she’s visibly deflated and mumbles desperately to the boy from earlier— Atsushi, Usagi manages to scrape up from the sizzling mess that is her brain right now.

For lack of better idea of what to do, Usagi stumbles over to Pinkie and Atsushi. She drops a heavy hand on Pinkie’s shoulder and then presses her forehead to the back of her hand.

Did you get hurt?” —she’d heard Atsushi say moments before, managing to snag at least that thread of conversation around her. After a beat Usagi lifts her head to blink blearily at both Atsushi and Pinkie.

“Mnng, that was so— what‘s going on? Neither of you have gotten hurt, have you?” Usagi asks.

Like mother to a child, Pinkie would feel Wanda's arms wrapping around her, the witch's cape ingulfing her as the older women peered over, looking at Atsushi. "How hurt are you? You going to be okay, dear? " As those words left her lips, Wanda remembers about someone. The girl who was attacked the bear. Almost immediately dashing away from the boy, pinkie, and Usagi, Wanda ran towards the girl, glaring at the bear. "My god, please..." The witch kneeled checking her pulse.
To Wanda's surprise, the young girl was alive. Wanda turned to the group. "Doctor Faust, everyone! We have a live one here!" Wanda put pressure on the wound as she looked at Sera. "Go to the bathroom. Get me first aid, pleased?"

Before Atsushi could answer Usagi, Wanda approached. Her motherly and concerned tone was one he wasn't all that used to being directed at him. Very few usually were concerned for him, and even less before joining the Port Mafia.

His eyes moved from the woman in red to glance down at his left arm a moment. Contemplating on how bad the injury really was. He couldn't quite tell how deep it was, but he was sure his ability even in it's weakened state would eventually start healing it. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

"Just a bit of shrapnel in the arm, but I'll be fine." He answered, before glancing to Usagi. The bear said there were first aid kits in the bathrooms. If he remembered the map right, the bathrooms were a bit of a walk. Wanda was already going to check on Menma, so Atsushi stayed where he was for now until the girls he'd been hanging around moved.

"Are you okay?" He asked the blonde then. She had hit the wall pretty hard from the force of the blast, but she didn't seem to have any shrapnel to worry about. Sophie had joined closer to them as well, and she wasn't injured either, which was good.

The topic of the traitor, as well as a number of their group having killed before, didn't such as surprise Atsushi just earned an almost quiet sigh.

There was no real reason to trying to figure out who the traitor was, as it would be hard to track them down unless they gave themselves away somehow. The fact that said traitor supposedly know how they all got here left a few questions half formed in his mind.

Claude Von Riegan

Ultimate Stratigist

Claude was just about done listening to what this psycho bear had to say. He wasn't even listening to the babble anymore, instead looking over at Nana when she proposed her plan first, then glanced at Hamilton's counter plan to that. He did notice the injured being attended to but he figured there was already enough help going around for that. They should be okay with that help.
"First of all, if the traitor's smart, they'll probably put up a guise and act as our friend no matter what. I really think ONLY sticking to our roommates might give them an advantage. They'll have plenty of opportunities to isolate us and perhaps kill us if they're on board with this bear, which they probably are." he reasoned.

He glanced over at his roommate. In all honesty, Claude had no qualms with Frank. He didn't really know the guy too well other than the fact that he had some sort of shapeshifting magic, but he didn't really suspect he was the traitor. From what he could gather, Frank seemed just as confused as anyone else was. But still, he barely knew these guys. He didn't even know much of the worlds they came from. There was no telling of anyone was putting up a front. At least not yet anyway.
"I do think using these devices to let people know where we are may be a good thing. I'm sure some of us have found one or two people to trust right now...right?" he asked. "If we stay buddied up with at least one other and text one or two others where we are it might help minimize the good opportunities our traitor has to make their move on us." he suggested.
It may not be wise to discuss planning here when their traitor is probably staring them in the face. However, if they were told their chances to make a clean attack were slim, perhaps they'd delay attacking, or think pretty carefully before they did.

Menma could only hear an intense ringing in her ears, her head pounding and her vision blurry.

Then it hit her, the feeling of the air being knocked out of her chest- causing her to inhale frantically. Menma shot up to a sitting position, every part of her body screaming in agony. Her jacket had fallen off during the explosion, but she was too frazzled and dazed to notice.

Menma blinked slowly, feeling the blood drip down her face from the large gash; her brows furrowed as she looked around. She felt weak, and her whole body ached. In her weakness, she flopped over, and onto something- or someone. She peered up, meeting the eyes of a woman in red.

Tobi looked around the room, this was certainly…..unique. Of course it was, a gift damn teddy bear just blew up and caused a major wreck around the room, he listened to what the pink haired girl had to say as she prepared her speech to everyone else.

He listenend carefully as she began to tell her speech to everyone else, she sounded determined, but she also sounded like she wasn’t too sure if her self either. But none the less she was incredibly brave to talk to everyone else.

He stood there quietly as he watched every one else react to the explosion. Suddenly a woman appears and asked if anyone needs any medical attention, he then observed more.

It seemed that everyone else was shocked or even feared the sadistic bear, tobi wasn’t startled at all though. He’s done worse.

Than it seemed everyone tried to say that they shouldn’t harm or kill anyone and just stay peaceful, trying to accept peace instead of despair as monokuma said.

Then, a man in a fashionable coat opposed an idea, and a smart one at that.

He let out a hum as he started to wiggle his arms around the place and made a AHEM sound gaining everyone’s attention.

Kirei Kotomine

1646082883543.png
"Tch...!"

As the first Monokuma exploded, the towering priest let out a soft hiss, comparable to the sound of clicking his own tongue, as stray debris lodged into his own leg, no doubt a lesson from the bear -- or whoever was controlling it -- that no good deed would go unpunished. Of course, Kotomine made the move more for his own well-being and self-interest than any sense of empathy, but it seemed that hardly mattered either way.

He remained silent, unwavering in both body and mind, even as another dastardly bear appeared to take his predecessor's place to showcase what would happen to those who defied him, and later going on to elaborate on the so-called rules that would dictate their involuntary stay here, as it now seemed more certain than ever that no matter what any of them could individually do, they were going to be in here for the long haul. So this must have been the "why" behind weakening everyone, tampering with their connection to their abilities, to put everyone on equal standing ground in the interest of some attempt at orchestrating a murder mystery and an accompanying kangaroo court, though Kotomine still had to wonder about the "how" over the "why." In any other circumstance, Kotomine might have found a great amusement and interest in such a set-up, but being at the receiving end of the stick, he could only feel contempt for the sniveling creature that stood smugly before them.

Knowing that any further attempt at resistance would surely not gain him anything, Kotomine opted not to escalate the situation any further, again for his own self-interest more than anything. Pride and hubris did not become him, so it was not difficult for him to step back and weigh his options more meticulously. Once it appeared that Monokuma had little more to announce to the group, Kotomine needed little more prompt than to be on his way and tend to his wounds. He would have plenty of time to lay out his plans from there, time and quiet permitting.

He said nothing in response to everyone else trying their hand to assuage the situation; he had no need for coddling from children half his own age, and if he had to guess, their pontifications were more to soothe their own fears than those of others. They were scared, and they had good reason to. Someone could easily take advantage of all this chaos, but for now, Kotomine's attention was drawn toward the dazed Menma, who was lulling in and out of lucidity, being cradled by Wanda like a Virgin Mary. The ever thorn, the devil he knew. Or perhaps she was an archangel instead.

Moving to kill two birds with one stone, Kotomine made his way toward the restroom, a slight limp pervading each of his steps, try as he did to hide it, following behind Frank and Clementine, though he did not refer to them. Without much time to lose, he fetched a number of first-aid supplies from the kit inside, and left just as quickly as he entered. His specialty may have been in spiritual healing, but Kotomine certainly knew his way around tending to the flesh as well.

"Your concern for others is touching, Ms. Maximoff. But it appears mercy will prove a dangerous trait to have in this place," Kotomine said to Wanda as he approached her and Menma, though despite his heavy words, his expression was hardened by pain and irritation at the revelation of the truth behind their predicament. "Hold the girl still, if you would."

Sinking down with his good knee, taking care not to move his own damaged leg, Kotomine began to make the rounds, beginning by cleaning up the blood that had trickled out, before disinfecting Menma's wounds with cotton and medicine, and if all went well, hoping to finish up by bandaging her. "Though I may have blood on my hands, it is also life that I am obligated to preserve. The power of life and death has such an overbearing sound to it, but it is something everyone holds over each other, is it not so?"

“Why would you even ask that….”

Frank muttered this namely to himself. He didn’t trust or like this second guy with a mask. It was kind of suspicious that he popped out of nowhere, hiding as Pyramid Head. He was someone that Frank probably trusted the least. Still, he had other things to worry about.

Walking along with Clementine, the two of them finally reached the Restroom. It seems that they were the first there. Suddenly, the Priest from before came in like a flash, and before Frank could even muster a hey, he was gone.

Moving himself and Clementine near the First-Aid kit, he looked at what items were left.

“So, you’re going to have to help me a bit here… I only learned a bit of First-Aid from Camp Jupiter. What stuff should I grab?”

1646091042164.pngWell. This was certainly a lot to take in, wasn't it? Everyone was so up in arms and frenetic, and the blonde woman simply couldn't wrap her mind around it. Sure, it was frustrating that they'd all been whisked away, but was killing really such a bad way out? Truth be told, taking lives was all that she was good for in the first place. It was the only thing she ever seemed to be able to do. All it took was a single touch, and, regardless of how she felt about it, the heads always flew just the same. It was simply how life was. She tried to think of reasons that these people were so against it, but ultimately could come up with none. All she could do was try to keep up with the verbal tennis being played in the office. Nana's speech was hard enough to process on its own, but the responses only added more confusion. There was at least one question she knew she needed an answer to before anything else.

"What is a roommate?" Once again, it was a rather obvious question, but her status as a homeless peasant deemed witch in 18th century France who had only been introduced to modern society perhaps a week ago left her rather uninformed. She also was confused what all this 'texting' business was about, but she figured she could inquire about that later. Rather, she had something else on her mind, something that made her frown faintly. "I'm confused. How does having partners stop people from killing? ...Are we to team up to fight alongside them? Is that what it's for?" After all, that's basically what she'd done with Ren. She was the weapon with which he killed his enemies, so... maybe everyone here was supposed to function like that for their roommates? Was that the correlation? If so, it sort of made sense. But the way that Claude, Nana, and Hamilton were talking made it seem like something else. But she really couldn't imagine what other possibilities there would be.

As for Monokuma's words, she pursed her lips in response. It had a very good point. "I hadn't thought about that," she admitted, readily. She still had a lot of questions, but didn't really even know where to begin. She at least found the courage to stand up again, though she appeared fidgety and ready to drop back into a hiding position at any given moment. "So... what are we to do, now? Are we supposed to fight, or do we simply sit and wait around for these murders to begin?" She couldn't fathom what the bear wanted from them. If he really wanted bloodshed, and that was really the only way to go home, she imagined she could make it happen. But it seemed a lot more complicated than that, and she didn't really get it...

Cater Diamond

♦️Conference room♦️
Icee Icee @everyoneelse
Monokuma listed off rule after rule. Geez, how many rules did he have? This guy is as gung-ho about rules as the Queen of hearts herself!

"There is a traitor among your ranks. Every game goes better with someone on the inside, doesn't it?"

There is a traitor among us. To think that there was a traitor amongst the people he swore to make friends with, or that one of his friends he already made could be a traitor. He didn’t want to doubt his friends but what choice did he have?

Plenty of people rushed off to the bathrooms, Cater decided to stay put. He didn’t know anything about first aid so he wouldn’t have been much help. The best course of action would be for him to stay put and help calm people down. Sure he was internally panicking himself, but he could front and air of calm easily enough. He was glad to see everyone was more or less okay.

"We have injured people here! Do you think this is a good time for proposing these ideas!? Help us! There's a man with shrapnel in his leg, a girl who can't walk, and someone had their entire face cut into two! If you care so much about us then actually help the people who need help instead of posturing your social status!"

His attention turned to Sophie. He didn’t like Nana being attacked for helping to form a strategy, but he couldn’t fault the girl for speaking her mind. It was better than he could.

"Of course, I digress, there are ways around my plan, I confess. But unless we linger in inactiveness, we risk the incorrect assessment of powerless death. The more we falter whatever potential killer is here to address, we more likely we make it out of this mess."

Hamilton’s proposal was flawed but better than nothing. At least he was coming up with something. Better than Cater was doing.

He began to doubt himself. What was he even doing at this point? Why bother when he has no real important talent? He just has his middle of the road Magicam account where he posts pics of food and an occasional selfie. What good could he do for people in a death game? He may as well coast along and wait for whatever outcome befalls him-

No. He said he would befriend people. That’s something. He knew better than anyone that friends can be better- closer- than family. They can get you through the worst of times. So he swore he’d be there for his new friends, and maybe he’d get some of that in return.

He looked around the room for something to do, but had a hard time deciding where to start. He figured he should probably check up on his roomy, as well as the others in his ladies group, but…

Cater saw his chance. He’s already aquatinted himself with his possy of women, whom he decided he would hold dear, but he wanted a friend to help guide him. A natural leader. Sure we had many of those already- hell, Nana was the ultimate class leader, but in her case she was still young, and something felt slightly off about her (though Cater had no clue what). Claude reminded him of his good friend Trey. Both are just really reliable guys who want to help everyone. So seeing Claude off on his own, so desperate but so strong, he decided to move seats to join him. He extended a hand.

“Claude, was it? Cater Diamond. I just wanted to say that I know this is, frankly, a hopeless situation. I know that friendship is probably not the most comforting thing right now, with the looming threat of the traitor. Still, I made a promise to myself to make friends with everyone. So… here I am! We’re all gonna make it out together, even the traitor.”

He tried his best to smile, to reassure him that no matter what this guy had gone through in the past, this time it would be okay.

Pinkie Pie

Conference Room

As much as Pinkie was stiffened and physically deflated, she did happen to perk up slightly when Atsushi called her his friend. Friendship. The thing Pinkie had been seeking ever since she woke up here. The thing that Pinkie strived off of, that Pinkie longed to get enough of so that she could make as many people as happy as possible. Why was this situation different from Pinkie’s other events with friends, then? Why was Pinkie not jumping up and down in joy, delighted that Atsushi was now her official friend? Even as happy as she was with Atsushi's official friendship, the event with Monokuma that just happened seemed to cancel any good feeling out of Pinkie's body. Still, even as Pinkie’s hair was deflated and she was tearing up, she seemed willing to talk to him. It seemed as though she was willing to converse and be friends with anyone who considered herself their friend.

"I-I, table, went under, explosion!" She said in panic from remembering the past event that had just taken place. The bombs... the yells... the fright... who wasn't hurt from it? Pinkie hadn't seen if she was injured at all yet, though. As if she were to check if she herself was okay, she then started looking at her arms and legs anxiously, ignoring the buzz sound from her tablet. It seemed as though Pinkie had protected herself enough to escape from the situation unscathed, but she was still affected mentally from it. After checking herself over, she gave a small shake of her head to answer Atsushi's question earlier, and then started looking over the boy worriedly to see if he was injured. Unlike Pinkie Pie, he seemed to have some fragments in his arm, which Pinkie now noticed. Pinkie seemed to not be in the mood to do anything, but now knowing that Atsushi considered herself his friend, she reached out to the injury empathetically.

Before she could reach out any further to the shrapnel on Atsushi's arm, she suddenly got interrupted by a hand on her shoulder. Pinkie, still being shaken from Monokuma surprisingly turning into a bomb, turned around to face the suspect of this hand with eyes full of fear. Was it Monokuma's hand... well, paw? Was he going to hold onto her as well and deactivate a bomb inside him to make sure that Pinkie was like the girl earlier? Or was it a person here that wasn't a ticking time bomb? Was it someone trying to kill her, ready to play this game they had just heard of? Pinkie froze up at this thought, now staring at the heavy hand in fear of its owner being a murderer. No way would someone touch her like this right after Monokuma's speech!

Suddenly, a sudden warmth enveloped around her. This warmth was familiar to Pinkie, and it was the warmth that Pinkie would always feel when laughing, partying, and being with her closest friends. This warmth seemed to come from some outside source, however, instead of coming from inside of Pinkie, which was the unusual part for Pinkie. Being freed from the coldness of her own skin, she turned her head slightly to the right to see what was giving her this. She knew who it was when she saw the color that appeared before her eyes, though: red. Had Wanda come over to her, giving her the hug that would hopefully fix Pinkie, if at least slightly? Whatever the purpose of Wanda's hug, she had done it long enough to spark the magic of friendship again in Pinkie's heart. Even as Wanda immediately ran away again to go to the damaged girl, Pinkie now sat there, having enough courage to turn her head to the one who had placed their hand on her shoulder.

Usagi! Oh, how could Pinkie doubt her first official friend here like this? When Pinkie saw Usagi, her face filled with recognition and remorse. Pinkie was supposed to trust her friends, and she immediately froze up in fear at Usagi's touch! Biting her lip in regret, she started examining the girl as she had done earlier with Atsushi. She looked terrible- more terrible than when Pinkie ate a beginner baker's cupcakes!- with bruises on her body and overall being hurt. Pinkie's eyebrows creased at this, her facial expression showing complete horror again. If a friend looked hurt or messed up, Pinkie would normally ask cheerfully, "What's the matter?" or "WOAH! What happened!? Didja fall into a well, stay there for a month with no food, strive to survive on whatever you can find, and climb out just now? Trust me, it's happened before!" but Pinkie knew what had happened already. Pinkie already knew what was the matter with Usagi. Pinkie knew something was dastardly wrong, and Usagi shouldn't have been harmed at all. Atsushi seemed to have asked if the blond haired girl was alright just now, but all Pinkie could do was stare at her. Usagi didn't deserve this! Nobody deserved this!

After a minute, when Sophie went over to stand by Usagi, Pinkie finally got the strength to put out both her arms to Usagi shakily, hoping that Usagi would get the message. She seemed to be inviting Usagi to come hug her or to simply sit next to her and Atsushi. If Usagi could tell from her state that Pinkie was inviting her, she would know that she had two options with Pinkie. Pinkie's attention now seemed to be on Atsushi, Usagi, and Sophie. While Pinkie was hearing things in the background about traitors, buddy systems, and killings, she let the information slide above her head. If she had started processing all these facts, she may be in a worse state than she already was. Her childish persona was ready for many things in life, but it was not ready for this. It was not ready to accept the situation. She did tilt her head to the pink-haired speaker for a second, though, when she screamed at all them, but looked back at Usagi after this.

Others had tried to cheer Pinkie Pie up! Who was Pinkie, the Ultimate Party Planner, to sit here and not try to do the same to them? She lowered her arms for a second, trying to rub the tears out of her eyes, sniffling. When she was finished doing this quick ritual, she lifted her arms again and attempted a weak smile to Usagi, Atsushi, and Sophie. Even though Pinkie was trying to cheer herself up and try to act the same as she had done before, she obviously wasn't. The usually wide smile that she had no effort making was gone, replaced with a frail one that took much effort making. Along with this, her straight hair still remained, having the cheerful, curly-haired Pinkie gone at the moment. With what just happened, though, it was most likely a good thing Pinkie was not jumping up and down in joy with the news that they got to kill others.

Claude Von Riegan

Ultimate Stratigist

The first thing Claude heard was Tobi. He had to admit the way that this ninja was talking about the situation was as if he was on board with it. As if killing was literally no problem. In all honesty, he wouldn't be too surprised if Tobi was that very traitor the psychotic bear was talkong about. Yet at the same time, if he was the traitor he certainly wasn't being smart to speak the way he did. Or it might just be how it was. It was difficult to form plans here. Not knowing anyone or how this world even worked fully made it hard for him to make his usual devious plans or conclusions. But that just meant that he had to learn, right?

Next, he heard Marie's obvious confusion about the plans they had proposed. "Your roommate is who you have to bed with. We all are roomed with someone. Buddying with them might be good since we're supposed to trust them but right now I don't think we can fully trust anyone. The traitor could be anyone. That's why I think us having other options would help." he explained. "Habing partners woukd be useful especially since some of us still have access to our magic. We might be able to put up a fight if someone tries a murder. Maybe even prevent it."
He didn't realize the slight hopelessness that was starting to edge at his voice. Sure he had fought a war where bloodshed was nessacary, even by his own hand but it didn't mean he liked it. Especially since some of the livea he cut down were that of his classmates who he connected with. Those who refused to join their cause for their own purposes. There had to be another way. He found a way through the war in Fodlan. There was a way through this. Playing this murder game would be like giving up. There had to be another path. He just needed time to think it through and find it!! That's what he beleived and he wouldn't let that go. He wouldn't just play this game...

He turned his attention toward Cater when he spoke to him and even went so far as to sit with him. Claude had to admit he rightiously so did feel out of place. He always kwpt up a friendly and easygoing attitude but everyone here was even more different than all of the other students back at the monestary. Here there was more than just a different background or homeland that seoerated everyone. Everyone was from a completely diffrent world. Perhaps even a different UNIVERSE altogether. It was hard to wrap his head around. Hard to really make an impression on those who didn't even have the common grounds of sharing the same knowledgable locations, acticities or even interests as him. Being seperated through time and space's different designs makes it hard to be sociable even if you were the social butterfly normally.
"I suppose I'll have to be realistic about this, Cater. We might not actually have a way to get out of this without playing this bear's game. But I just refuse to have more senseless bloodshed on my hands. I know full well that sometines you have to do so to move forward but I don't think this situation is like that." he admitted. "But I do appreciate you wanting friendship. It's nice to know that at least one person is somewhat on my side. With space and time seperating us and all, it's pretty hard to tell what everyone else thinks here. And that whole traitor thing didn't help..."
He did have to bear in mind that ANYONE coukd be the traitor, includong Cater himself but accepting someone's kindness and friendship was also just as important. Besides, he could deviate a plan if this turned on him.

Cater Diamond

He did it. He made another ally. Another friend. But then why…

Cater put a hand to his mouth and his breath shortened. He slumped into the chair beside him. The whiplash of emotion made him realize just how tired he was. Carefree. Scared. Happy. Sad again. The bottle he kept his emotions in was starting to crack and there was nothing he could do to stop it. He wanted to curl into a ball. When he got like this he at least knew he had his good friends to help him through it but now… would someone just take advantage of him? He held back tears and brought his knees to his chest in his chair. Between quick breaths he spoke.

“You said- you’ve- been though something- before? How did- you cope?”

Cater is the son of a wealthy banker. He lived in a wealthy family with a nice house and luxury. He knew he was lucky. He chatted with people from the Sunset Savanna who lived in poverty. It was horrible to think about. And they had gone through horrible things that Cater couldn’t have imagined. But now he’s going through something out of a nightmare. It’s his turn to take the fall. All he could think about was that he was a prissy stuck up self centered guy with the title of ultimate influencer.

Time has a funny habit of running away. Within seconds, Faust was surrounded by bodies - warm bodies, breathing bodies. All of the filing in from the faces that he'd met so far, all of them on his list. One of the first things he learned to do was to learn names and faces. A human is just an animal like any other - a sack of meat and organs wrapped about the bones, lit aflame by the nerves, stitched together in the flesh. The sinews give way if you cut just right, and without a face, how different is the meat on the table? What value does it hold over a butchered cow? Nothing but meat. Nothing but carbon. A patient has no value until treated.

But, a person? A thinking, dreaming person? They are their name- their identity. Whatever it is, whatever they choose it to be, it binds their dreams to reality. Learning how to see people again was the first step for Faust, and that meant hearing their names, seeing their faces - seeing the hope that lingers behind. So, when the conference room filled with meat-- with people-- and they began to scream and holler and shout and cry and fear and fly in wonderous, marvelous glee, to the strings that nailed their hands and feet by some voice beyond our wildest dreams, it was easy to forget that first, crucial lesson.

It threatened to slip away, as he fears it will one day. Maybe, it always had been, for years unending since that bag went on his head. Now, more than ever, had it started to pull. And pull, and pull, and pull, more and more until it began to make sense. The torment that had been waiting for him in this place. The punchline to the big joke. It seemed like he wouldn't get the last laugh after all.

Almost as soon as the red woman invoked his name, a crooked frame stalked out of the clearing smoke. Faust stood unscathed from the explosion, balancing himself on the ruler that he'd used for his previous demonstration. Quiet, muffled, measured breathing rushed out the bottom of his mask. He stepped closer to Wanda and Kotomine, squatting low next to Menma - if being surrounded by a witch and a priest wasn't enough, she'd be greeted with the sight of a tall, scrawny man in a doctor outfit, wearing a brown paper bag over his head.

"... On that, we might be agreed," the doctor muttered in response to the priest, looking over his shoulder at the injury he was treating. It wasn't perfect, but given the circumstances, he was doing remarkable work. But, that didn't stop the doctor from looming over him, speaking softly even as his eye peered through the shadow of his mask, firmly centered on the back of the priest's head. "But mercy is not a weakness. It's a privilege. A pacifist incapable of great violence is no pacifist at all -- they're just harmless."

Faust lingered on his words, and then looked to Wanda. In spite of his normal self, his measured tone was grave as a car crash. "... I won't lie to you. The situation is dire. Truly terrible, even."

"Death is a real possibility. A probable one, in fact. We could be ignorant of that, but denial kills more people than cancer, they say -- they being me, of course,"
the doctor stood tall, turning around to look over the rest of the room's inhabitants. He placed a thumb under his chin and cocked his head to one side. "But a possibility is exactly that - a possibility~!"

His tone intensified into a gleeful, merry jaunt - in fact, it sounded in tune with Monokuma. it sounded less like an act. It sounded more like something was breaking.

"Do any of you know the full extent of this facility? I don't~! So, why cut out the possibility of escape? We're operating off of incomplete data, I believe."

Faust spun on his heel and shot an accusatory finger at one particular bear. Somewhere, the sound of a revolver cocking can be heard. And... muffled thunder?

1646102461706.png

"And, you, sir! I've come to a conclusion about you!"

"You might just be... withholding information for the purpose of making us kill each other!"

"In other words... lying!!"

Irrefutable.

Sophie tried her best to calm down. She didn't fully accept Nana's apologies, yet she didn't object to the buddy system idea.

"Look, I'm not opposed to the buddy system… it's just… is now really the time to talk about it?"

With a glance over to Pinkie, she knew something was up. The smile was forced… it reminded her of herself in a way.

She moved over to Pinkie. Not really the type to give words of comfort, she stood there silently, a knowing look on her face. All Sophie could remember was pain and fear. Not what caused them, but what their scars feel like.

Maybe now, after experiencing similar fear to what Sophie's felt for as long as she could remember, Pinkie could see a glimpse of the true, terrifying existence of Sophie Walten. A life where a simple party won't be able to cure sadness. A life with no friends, family even.

Sophie’s thousand-yard stare was not a comforting sight. But maybe Pinkie would be able to find comfort in not being alone in this.

Louise just barely flinched at the dim, distant thunder. There it was. If this whole place was like - that house, maybe the bear was its avatar? Or something like that. At least it wasn't a person sucked into this too. Finally, she let her hands drop from her ears. It was lying. Of course it was lying, you wouldn't have a party like this with the truth plainly visible. "Maybe the bear - it's being controlled by someone who is on the outside as well. Not just the traitor. We were - chosen for a reason. We need common threads," she rambled faintly . She was really starting to sound like - stop. Not here. Not anymore.

As Clementine managed to grab ahold of him, Frank started to help her forward. Although, Frank did seem somewhat stronger than someone for his age should be. She wasn’t that hard to carry though, but they still had to take it slow.

Clementine leaned against Frank, more out of a sudden bout of weakness than her complete inability to walk. She was missing just one leg and had fashioned a sort of make-shift peg leg for it, though she was still learning how to keep her balance with it. She thought to herself that this boy seemed really strong, as if she weighed nothing at all. Clementine knew she didn't weigh much but this boy was really way stronger than he should have been.

"I'm not too hurt I think," Clementine said once they were in the bathroom. "Just had the wind knocked out of me. We should probably help treat the others first. I'm worried about that girl... Menma." Thankfully, Clementine knew pretty well how to make use of a First Aid kit. She gestured for Frank to at least grab some disinfectant and band-aids for a scrape she had sustained, though the rest was better put to use for the others. "I've treated all kinds of wounds. What I saw back in the conference room is actually not that bad."

With Pinkie's hand reaching for his wounds, his fingers twitched briefly.

"I'll be fine, I can barely feel it." He tried to reassure. While that might not have been a good thing, he was trying not to focus on how much his arm actually hurt right now. Sure, he had a slightly higher than average pain tolerance but that didn't stop the pain from registering in his brain.

Pain was a constant, pain and fear. Fear of being hurt, pain from being hurt. Yet he endured it because what else was there to do other than survive and push through it? He had been saved from that hell of an orphanage and in exchange he was given a place that was slightly better if still dangerous.

And he nearly fucked it up by disobeying orders. He didn't have any orders to listen to now, just his instincts.

He hadn't understood Pinkie, because where he was from no one was as bubbly as she had been. Now, he wasn't sure how to feel, with her experiencing something like this, something he was used to in a sense. Her smile was almost off putting.

He almost wished Dazai was here, maybe he'd know how to get them home with as little injury as possible. Did he even know that Atsushi wasn't at headquarters anymore? Did Kyouka?

He had promised her he wouldn't let her be in the dark alone anymore, and now he couldn't even reach her.

He momentarily tuned back in to the conversation around them of the plans being made. They were better than nothing really.

"I think the buddy system could work despite possible flaws, but...it might also be best to have a few small groups." He muttered. Most here had been breaking off into small groups anyway. It might benefit some to stay with the people they were comfortable wnpugh with to some capacity.

Usagi takes shuffling steps forward, one, two, and falls into Pinkie Pie’s outstretched arms. Her arms come up to curl around Pinkie’s back— there’s a beat of silence, Usagi’s lower lip trembling something fierce and she tries to hold herself together, but….

She bursts into sniffly tears instead. Long overdue, frankly, for the world’s resident crybaby, but some things were just too horrible to warrant tears first.

Snf— Pi- Pinkie-chan,” she mumbles. Usagi tucks her nose into her dear friend’s shoulder. “I’m glad- snnff, I’m glad you’re okay. ‘M okay too. We’re… we’ll figure something out, right? We don’t hafta hurt each other…” Her voice is thick and watery, stringing her words together in one miserable-sounding flurry.

She turns her head ever-so-slightly to peer at Atsushi from behind her bangs. She feels… small, and vulnerable, and maybe a bit very scared right now. If she had to compare, the feeling reminds her a little of the time she and her senshi were picked off one by one by Queen Beryl’s henchmen, until it was just Usagi left alive with the promise to hold her resolve and end the Queen Beryl’s reign, even if it took her down with her. But not everything feels like something else, maybe. This is new. This isn’t something she’s quite felt before.

“…Atsushi-kun is right. I don’t wanna split up. We need- we need to trust each other, and have each other’s backs, if we’re gonna be okay. So I really, really think you should stick with us, Sophie-chan, even if I know you don’t like lots of people. ‘S not worth the risk of being alone,” Usagi sniffs. She peers around the room until her gaze settles on a familiar shade of red; Wanda-san leans over another young girl, with a very careful look of reassurance on her face. The look isn’t even directed at her and it makes Usagi relax and sag a little further into Pinkie’s hold. She- they’ll be okay. Usagi has to trust them all, and she does, she really, really does want to, so maybe they’ll be okay.

--== BUTTERS STOTCH ==--
A lot of time has passed since everyone had actually woken up, and with the recent explosion of the Monokuma, things are just getting more and more hairy. This entire time, trying to inconspicuously stand in places where nobody would inherently notice him, was a small kid with a blonde tuft of hair and a turquoise button up shirt. Butters was his name, and he was having an absolutely horrendous time. He remembers waking up in a shared room with Menma, being the first of the two to actually wake up. However, due to the fact that he woke up in an unfamiliar place with an unfamiliar, scary looking woman, Butters' first reaction was to dive under the bed and await further counsel. Thankfully, not too long after Menma actually woke up, Butters was transfixed on her "can-do attitude". When she got upset and vocal over wondering why she woke up in this room without explanation, Butters began to ask himself the same question. Soon enough, he vowed to stay as close to Menma as possible. However, obviously, he wasn't about to let himself be seen. He was already grounded before he woke up here anyways, if his dad somehow finds out that he had been talking to strangers then he's gonna get it big time! If this did turn out to be some sort of whacky test from his dad, he was going to pass one way or another.

This leads us to right this second, moments after the Monokuma explosions that left the person he had been secretly following around wounded. Butters had seen a lot of individuals that he didn't recognize during this time, and then hearing the monochrome bear talk about some sort of killing game? Butters was slowly processing all of this in his head. Maybe this wasn't an elaborate test by his dad? If it wasn't, that means that the only way out is to kill people? Butters, upon truly realizing the gravity of the situation, would mumble something under his breath. The first words he spoke since waking up here.

"Aw, hamburgers..."

Butters would back up slowly in the crowded conference room, until he was pressed up against the wall. His eyes would dart around the room, as he slowly interlocked his fingers and twirled his thumbs in an attempt to calm himself down...
ButtersStotch (1).png

...In reality just thinking of the situation was making him more stressed. The sudden cries of those around him who were, understandably so, despairing over the prospect of a death game just did nothing but make his anxiety worse. Who was he supposed to trust in here? Everyone in here, for the most part, seems so much older than him. On the outside of this place he had all his buds from school. All of which, mind you, were his age. The sound of everything and everyone around him was slamming itself into his skull, his breathing doing nothing but getting faster as he stood there. He would begin to hum a song to himself in an attempt to drown out all of the surrounding noise. He was doing his best to keep quiet though, as to remain unnoticeable. Surely, with all the noise in the room, no one would hear him humming.

Menma was obviously concussed- she's lucky she wasn't in worse shape, or dead.

She strained her head, vision still pulsing as the woman spoke to her, only a few words making sense. 'Scarlet Witch' was the name of the woman from what Menma could gather, she sat back up, using her hands and arms as she braced for support, a man quickly started working on her wounds. She grimaced at the sting of the disinfectant, sucking in a hiss. She wasn't used to kindness, and the feeling of being pitty-ed pissed her off- but she knew she was in no position to lash out; so she just kept quiet as she was tended to.

A sigh left Menma's lips as her face was bandaged, helping with some of the pain. She grabbed her jacket off the floor and put it in her lap like a blanket, an action out of pseudo-comfort. Her muscles screamed, so she lay on the floor of the conference room; the cool tile soothing her slightly.

Clementine, assisted by Frank, walked back into the conference room with a few extra supplies. She directed him to help her toward Menma, who was awake now but laying on the floor. "You got a little banged up," Clementine offered with a small smile, kneeling next to Menma so she could take a look at her. The group who had been tending to her was definitely an odd trio, but as far as Clementine's skills were concerned, the three of them had patched the other girl up better than she possibly could have. Clementine decided instead then to tend to the scrape across her arm. She barely flinched as she pressed disinfectant to her arm.

Monokuma seemed to have got his chuckles in, so was almost casual in his response to Faust. "Any of us in this room could be lying, couldn't we? But here's the truth... it's nighttime! 10PM! The restaurant will be locking up now!"

10 PM

With that, Monokuma gave a little wave and left the way he came, leaving the projector behind.

Clementine looked around. "It does feel kind of late..."

Trying to keep her mind off the bear, Clementine looked to Menma. "I can give you a rundown... What can you recall?"

Not the good care part, but that thing about face-punching. That bear is bad news. Acting like a shite...you know he has all the cards." After that, she looked over at Menma. "You alright, luv?"

Claude Von Reigan

Ultimate Stratigist

Claude was surprised to see Cater suddenly break down. They had just started to get aquainted and suddenly this. Well, it probably was inevidable. With their situation, who wouldn't break down? Sometimes it even surprised himself how he hasn't. Maybe because he has fought impossible odds before and he knew that giving up hope was like giving up the cause. There was always another way. A better way. You just had to think of it. That's what he felt. But admittedly even he was wondering if there was any alternative way. Are they really going to have to kill each other just to be permitted to go home?
"I'll tell you this, it wasn't easy to be in my position - one of my former classmates started a war against the Church, who was heavily supported by a kingdom belonging to another former classmate of mine. My army and I carved our own path....one that we all beleoved would lead our land to the best possible ending. Still, it didn't mean it didn't come with a lot of bloodshed and I'll admit sometimes I did break down in private, especially when we coukdn't convince soms of our othsr classmates to join us." the stratigist admitted as he sighed. He did his best to quit thinking about Tobi and how suspicious he seemed. Right now, he had to admit, he too was nearing his limits. But he kept strong. He had to, just as he had to during the war. "I guess one thing that keeps me calm is thinking that everything we go through now will lead to a better ending. A brighter tomorrow. That's what always motivated me to keep fighting through our war. And we acheived that. Even though some things could not be avoided, we still brought forth a future where everypne coukd live peacefully. And even though things look dim right now, I still think that there's another way. I think we can make it out without killing. Or...at the very least...maybe as few deaths as possible. There has to be something we're missing. We just have to find that other way."

It was at that moment that he glanced at the time. At least the bear was being truthful on that part. Well of course he would be truthful about the time - it was nighttime, officially. He coukdn't help but feel he needed to be on high alert. Nighttime would be the best time for a strike, right? The traitor would act when they felt everyone was asleep and no one would hear the act...

"Anyway...I guess that bear isn't lying about the time. Something tells me we might have one less person here tomorrow. I hope that's wrong...."
