Eh, he isn't really the typ to joke around, not when you met him like 10 minutes ago, so he would be rather angry thinking that she is making fun of him rather then just making a joke.

I think the funniest part though was my decision not to make the yakawho have said effects giving the party a reason to seek the locals. I decided it would be to much for the first arc to have a character turn into a red goblin but then you brought it up haha
