Fantasy ~ FableWood ~

Nyr stumbled weakly near a house, watching the others from a safer distance. She was still weak but she did not want to worry anyone so she just sat dow outside of line of sight alone to recuperate and regain some of her stamina. But her plans were soon foiled by the trembling earth around her.

Even some of the damaged rooftops collapsed at the arrival of one of the mightiest demon commanders, Urgash. The monstrosity was clad in dark plated armor, protecting every single part of his body while he carried his gargantuan battle ax, ready to cleave a way through his enemies. As his steps thundered in the air even his own minions whimpered and backed away when the hellish general finally stopped to see his enemies.

" You? " he bellowed " You are the dogs who have been wreaking havoc in my army? Step forward, and I shall put you in your place. "

He placed is massive ax from one hand to another, its edge burning in dark flames as he did so, but he did not charge. Being disciplined - even though he was a demon - honor compelled his to wait for his opponents to accept his challenge.

Leos eye closed, he sat and meditated for a short few moments to regain his strength after the tussle with Luness. The wound she inflicted on his back was not an immediate concern, but he would need to have it properly healed once he either regained his strength to heal it himself, or found a healer. As he sat, he faintly heard a commotion coming from the castle. Fearing another attack, he clambered to his feet using his ax to steady himself and make a run for the castle. He stopped himself however, realizing that the noise was not screaming but cheering. Perplexed Leo turned in the opposite direction and saw several specs flying through the barrier and into the city. Looking closer, he could faintly make out the shape of people on birds backs. There weren't many in Fablewood who could ride the great birds, but one race he knew for certain could. "Elves.." Leo whispered to himself. He smiled and pointed his ax into the sky for the others to see. "The elves have come to our aid." This time he was much louder to make sure his company could here him. It was then that he felt the rumble of the streets. Turning he saw monstrous Urgash approaching them.

'Elves...? There are Elves here too?' Anya thought to herself, curiously. She had followed along with Leia and Elena. When Ward made her promise to leave if things got bad, she nodded. She had no intentions, however, of actually leaving. When the Earth trembled around her Anya struggled to maintain her footing. She looked at where it was coming from and her grip tightened on her daggers. 'How in the world are we supposed to take something like that?' Anya wondered. She looked around at her friends, eager to see if someone stronger than her would take the challenge, she had no doubt that they would.

'It would seem they are done playing tricks with us.' Alexander thought for the rest of the group to hear. He leaned low, much like a cat preparing to pounce might, and his tail swished in small S's behind him for balance. He waited a moment, then lunged at the general, His armor did not look as though it would taste very good, but his teeth and jaws were strong, perhaps he could dent it, or put an opening in it. He figured that his dragon scales would protect him well enough from the blade, as long as the man didn't hit his underside all should be well.

Banba paced where she was, growls and chuffs escaping her tiger throat. She shook her head occasionally, trying to clear her head of thoughts. She continued pacing until Leo pointed out the elves, standing on her hind legs, Banba returned to her lizard form, ignoring the wounds on her back. She eyed Leo, watching for movements from him.

"The sea recedes and gushes forward, unless the moon is asleep." She murmured, before the shaking ground brought her attention elsewhere. When the demon approached, Banba ran off without skipping a beat. She grew until she was half the size of him, curling back her lips and snarling.

Luness was curiously distracted by the arrival of the elves for a moment, but then quickly turned upon feeling the approach of the demon once more. Seeing him up close, Luness felt her heart skip a beat. This was not going to be an easy fight.

Falarion swiftly led the pack through the city and back to Luness, skidding to a halt at the edge of the group and gaping at the large demon that was their new foe. Shaking his head, Falarion and the pack stood on their hind legs and then approached Luness.

Feeling her pack's presence, Luness turned and grinned upon seeing her healed pack at her side. Nodding at Falarion, Luness said, "We fight as a unit."

Falarion nodded in return and shifted his gaze to the demon just as Alexander lunged at it.

Urgash chuckled as he saw the dragon closing on him. Finally, a worthy opponent to face against who would not be crushed by a single blow. Readying his weapon he parried his attack with ease and prepared to retaliate against his foe. Being a bit slower than he anticipated he missed Anexander and the blow sundered the very earth where it struck. After that he quickly regained momentum and struck again, this time scratching the scales of the dragon but not inflicting a major wound.

" Fast AND strong. " he rumbled with glee " Finally, some fun to be had. "

He roared as the darkness surged forward from him, empowering both the weapon and its master and started to charge... but this time not against his draconic foe but rather the others.

Luness eyed the demon warlord carefully, watching his every move and how he seemed to be slow in his maneuvers. This would be helpful considering her pack and especially herself were far smaller and more agile. They'd be able to get around him and strike him easier, but if they were hit by one blow then it was highly likely that they would not survive.

Seeing the incoming charge, Luness' eyes widened and she yelped a warning to her pack, causing them to instantly disperse and clear the charging area. Luness quickly tackled Ward out of the charging zone while Falarion tackled Leo to safety, being that Falarion was nearly the size of Leo, the task wasn't nearly that difficult for him to get Leo out of the danger zone.

Quincy turned her head and watched the elves approach, a sinking feeling in her gut. They desperately needed help defending the city, but why must it come from them? It would be more than a little awkward if they all survived. Her self-pity for the situation was cut short at the emergence of a massive demon. “Holy sea nymphs.." She whispered, staring up at it. Alexander crouched under her, and she nocked an arrow just in time. He leapt, and as he did, she shot for the demon's eye. It seemed hopeless, but she had to try something. The demon moved, causing her arrow to deflect harmlessly, but she immediately shot another towards the same spot.

Leo watched as the dragon began the assault on the demon and attacked it head on. He admired the dragon for being able to jump right into the frey so easily. As he watched he noticed the demon turn towards them and begin to charge. Leo was about to run to a safe distance before the mass of one of Luness's pack members hurled itself into him and knocked him to safety. Once the demon had passed them, Leo rolled his hurt shoulder looking down at the sizable werewolf "Thank you my friend. Now is not the time for me to be standding around." He smiled and readied his ax. While the demons back was turned, Leo charged the foul creature and jumped into the air a few feet behind. He brought the blade of his ax down ontop of the demons back, hoping his ax would be strong enough to penetrate the impressive armor.

Urgash noted the swiftness of his foes... it seemed that a tactical change was necessary. Just as he was about to fling his weapon once again mid charge Leo jumped on his back with his ax and hit him as hard as he could. The ax of the noble warrior dented the infernal armor of the demon who then grunted as he registered the mighty blow. His opponent still clinging to his back he roared.

" A true warrior! " he laughed as he hastened his pace " I hope you love flying, creature. You will experience it from first hand. "

He then capitalized on his momentum and jumped high into the air. Then her turned his weapon earthward, plummeting to the ground with a titanic force. While nobody was hit by the impact location a massive crater was created as the demonic warrior collided with the earth. The force sent a gigantic shock wave into every direction devastating buildings and sending soldiers flying in the air - demon and human alike.

He panted as he needed to regain his strength after such a blow.

Ward was sent flying by Luness, snatching him away from danger. He thanked her and tried to rise only to be knock down again by the earth-shattering blow of the general against the battered city street.

He snorted dust from his nares and analyzed the situation carefully. "If we so much as catch a glancing blow from that weapon it either cut us in half, or turn our brains to jelly."

"Lovely imagery Ward, what's the plan?" Leia shot at him sarcastically, getting to her own feet with the help of her air spirit.

"First off, don't get hit. And secondly, we need to coordinate our attacks until we can find a weakness." Ward thought as he kept his distance, hurling fireballs that bounced harmlessly off the demon's armour, but made a bit of smoke as they did so. With any luck it would hinder him...or perhaps just annoy him.

"A lot of us are faster, we can use that. Elena, can you hinder his movement with your vines? And Luness, I can tag-team with you and your pack, keep him from focusing on any one target."

Leia dashed around the demon, trying to get into a blind spot. There was no way she could go head to head with this guy...and frankly, she didn't want to. The dude was a frickin' tank! Tad and Lee kept close to her, waiting for direction, for now she told them to protect her friends and keep the demon from landing any death blows.

Leo, was to say the least, not particularly fond of flying. So when the monster of a armored man said something about flying Leo became a little nervous. The generals momentous jump upwards shocked Leo, who was now clinging to whatever crease or opening in the armor that he could find. As the trip upwards came to a halt, Leo winced at the feeling of falling. It was a sensation he did not care for, and the reason he did not like flying to begin with. Gripping tighter Leo assumed that he would be able to absorb the shock of the landing while clinging to the generals bac. What he had not counted on was the percussive shock wave that followed from he generals weapon. Once again, a force unlike Leo had felt before launched him skyward straight up from the Generals impact zone. Leo had no means of flight, and when he finally did reach the end of his short trip up, he wouldn't have any way of stopping his fall. Although, maybe he didn't need to stop the fall. Leos eye caught sight of the general bellow and it gave him an idea. He reached for his ax on his back, but hadn't counted on letting go of it when the generals shock wave blowing it out of his hand and into god knows where. His only choice was to use his dagger tucked away at the back of his hip where his tail met his spine. At the end of his flight upwards, Leo twisted is body and began to plummet back down. Leo aimed the best he could for the dent on the generals back as he fell back to the ground, hoping that between the force of the previous attack and the force behind a falling lion man, he might be able to create an opening in the monsters armor.

Alexander kept into the air with a mighty stroke of his wings to avoid the impact of the shockwave caused by the demon. He watched the others fight it, not wanting to put them in harm by attacking again.

Anya fell backwards due to the mighty blow, and then stumbled to regain her footing. She remembered a strategy from a game she had played with her brother and wondered if it could be applied here- it was a similar situation after all. She examined the demon commander for a weakness in his armour- for what held the armour on. She slept slowly, circling the fight from a distance to get a 360 degree view of her opponents. 'There! That's it! Now if only I could figure out how to get at it without interfering with the others.'

Luness nodded at Ward's thanks and hissed to call her pack back to her after the dispersion. Seeing the general's incoming strike on the ground, Luness' eyes widened and she braced for the concussive wave that came afterwards, knocking her and her pack to their knees.

Regaining their composure after the attack, Luness listened intently to Ward's plan and nodded at Ward when he mentioned them working together.

Looking to her pack, Luness quickly said, "You heard the gryphon! Quick attacks, stay outta the demon's attack range, and stay away from one another. The more targets he has to deal with, the harder it'll be for him to properly focus."

The pack howled at the orders and then dropped to all fours before they spread out around the demon and began taking potshots at him, diving in and out, weaving around him, as they used their battle claws to strike at his ankles and avoided any potential strikes.

Before Luness could join the attack, her eyes widened at Leo's short flight and then his intended attack on the demon.

Quincy was thankful to be aloft on Alexander as the shockwave rippled through the city. We have to find a weak spot. She thought to Alexander, scanning the demon General from where they were. He was mostly completely covered, but there had to be a way past it.

The monstrosity howled in agony as Leo struck him again in the dent - this time actually penetrating the armor, striking his flesh. He felt his black blood flowing from the open wound - but surprisingly he enjoyed that. Touching his own wound he now painted his face with a war paint from his own blood and stood up.

" Eons I have searched for worthy opponents. " he said with the blood craze overtaking his mind. " Now the real fight starts! "

He bellowed a war cry as he charged the pack of Luness with ferocity, swinging his mighty ax left and right, creating smaller craters in his wake. Noticing that his enemies were still faster than him he tore his chest armor off, bellowing in rage.

" I need no armor to best you! " bellowed the furious general, swinging his ax around like a whirlwind, generating a turbulence which slowly started to suck enemies in it.

Luness' eyes widened in fear as she saw one of her packmembers yelp and then lose his grip on the ground in the whirlwind. Within seconds, the packmember had been struck by the axe, and was most certainly dead now. Tears brimmed Luness' eyes and she let out a yowl before she began sprinting towards her packmembers in the whirlwind, tackling them and getting them behind cover.

Falarion was already behind cover when the whirlwind began and he cautiously peeked out, looking for further instruction from Luness.

Once Luness was certain that the rest of her pack was safe, she peeked around the corner of the building she had hid behind, seeing that the demon had just opened a large vital point for them to strike. Still, they needed to wait until his whirlwind was over before they could make anymore moves. That was, unless someone attacked from above.

((Where is everyone?))

"Tad!" Leia shouted and the air spirit darted forward, creating an opposing tornado and clashing head on with that of the demon. The little spirit struggled at first, but gaining momentum began to match their opponent in speed and strength. If he kept it up the suction effect would hopefully soon dissipate.

Ward saw an opening and charged his body with a thunder spell. He launched himself at the demon, talons outstretched, now that the creature wore no armour it would be easier to strike.

(Luness and her pack are scattered in the vicinity of the fighting area and one of her packmembers just got killed. Last I read, Alexander was circling above with Quincy on his back. Anya was giving the demon a wide berth, as she was looking for a weak point. Nyr flew off nearby to get some rest. I can't quite recall where Elena was last, but she was nearby. Oh, and Banba had run away to get some space, changed into a tiger similar to Luness' size and then was waiting to strike. Leo just did a powerful strike on the demon and should be near him unless he managed to avoid the whirlwind.)

((Leo is behind the general i assume. I never saw him turn around towards me at least.))

Leo's arms jerked at the sudden stop as his blade dug into the demons back. The whiplash along was able to give him a stary eyed gaze as he let go of the knife just as the monsters hand reached for the blood. Leo placed his hand on his head and shook a few times before his vision cleared enough for him to begin to move. However now he was weaponless, the shock wave having thrown his ax and his knife stuck in the demons back. He looked around for something until he heard the demon begin to spin its blade. As he turned back and saw the whirlwind, the winds behind the general began to push against Leo away from him. He dug his claws into the ground as to not get pushed to far away hoping he would get a chance at the newly available week spot on the demons chest.

((How big is this guy? Like, House big? Giant big? Cause Banba had grown to about half his size last time I posted, but then had to disappear. I'm assuming she's behind everyone, with the group between her and the general.))

Banba dug her claws into the pavement, waiting until she had a clear shot. Avoiding the group, Banba shot forward, gripping the axe's handle just above were the General's hand was, stopping the whirlwind. She spread her hands out, gripping the axe handle at her shoulder's width, pushing up into the General's chest.

"Tea leaves soak in the water." She said through gritted teeth, once again digging her claws into the ground for better traction.
