Arley | Blue Forest
"Do forgive me, my summoner friend; I can be quite a chatterbox at times," Arley spoke as he let out a soft chuckle before continuing, "I will agree with Seir on this one and settle with neutrality."

As the group began to move to the portal, Arley followed behind with Seir. Before he entered the portal, Arley stopped and gave a slight bow to Seir. "After you, my friend," he said with a soft smile. Even if the other refused to accept the importance of manners, Arley would not. Arley would follow the other into the portal shortly after she herself made it in.

Arley looked around the new world, taking in a deep breath of the forest air. Arley did not often get a chance to go this deep into the wilds and deeply enjoyed the fresh air, even if it was from unfamiliar flora. "By the fade, have you ever seen anything of the sort in your many years, Seir? It almost reminds one of the Fade, no?" Arley looked around as he pondered the new surroundings, gently moving a fern with his cane.

Arley turned to look at Dana, his cane a little unsteady on the soil, "Lead the way, my Dear. I fear I am a little out of my element here," he laughed pleasantly as he lifted his cane that was already beginning to coat in mud at the bottom to prove his point.

"What's a soul? Pssh, that's easy! It's... uh...well..." Seir paused for a moment, blinking in surprise at her own lack of a solid definition. Usually you didn't have to define such a thing, even when making contracts. Most people just knew. Luckily, the gift of gab didn't fail her.

She snapped her fingers and continued with an easy drawl, "Souls are the very core of beings born of the physical plane. It's what makes them different from demons and angels. All humans and mortals get one just by being alive, you see. It's what lets them wander around as ghosts too. A soul is pretty potent stuff. It's like the core of everything they are! A real precious commodity, it is! Hehe... real precious..."

After her little monologue, Seir grinned in a self-satisfied manner. Winking at Symphony, she tapped the doll's temple with a finger. "You got all that? I'll give ya a pop quiz later so get it memorized!"

Of course, something far more entertaining presented itself as the portal opened. It captured her attention, away from the doll. When Arley motioned for her to enter first she took the offer gleefully, giving a mock bow in return, "Ohoho...do excuse me, my fine fellow. Beast before beauty!"

With that, she hopped in first.

On the other side she took a good look around, yet unlike the others she didn't seem that impressed. Instead, she scoffed, "Is this it? You know, I was expecting a little more pizazz! Y'know, more sparkles and fanfare. At the very least something should try to kill us by now!"

Arley's question received a nonchalant shrug, "Sure, you see a lot of pretty flora down in the Sloth ring. That stuff makes this place look like a cheap window garden. There's a type of flower there that sings lullabies strong enough to make even an archdemon sleep like a baby."

She wandered ahead as she yapped, arms swaying carelessly at her side. When she spotted the swamp she naturally gravitated in that direction, her eyes flashing with mischief. One could almost see the gears of her head working behind the scenes, spinning self-centered plans.

Tom's comment made her giggle, which was probably the opposite of what he intended from the warning, "Oh I do love a good witch-hunt! I even started a few in the past. Ah, good times...~"

The cat leapt to the other side of the portal and thought to the best of their ability, Yep. That's ground alright. Their memories that took place in that subspace immediately began fading, being replaced with the sight of fresh grass, foliage, and tree trunks. Examining the others, they could only recognize the purple-haired girl, and not a single name.

They tried to survey the area but quickly soured when they felt tiny bits of mud slowly mesh through their paws. They retreated back to dry soil, but even after they stamped the mud off of their mitts the grimy feeling lingered for a little too long. Intent on never stepping a foot in those swamps, they chose to hop onto that same girl from earlier, working up to their shoulders.

The doll blinked as the woman went on. Her expression as neutral and stoic as ever. But this didn’t make much sense either. Physical plane? Demons? Angels? Mortals? Ghosts? She didn’t get it at all. She just shook her head no when she was asked if she got all of what was explained to her. She couldn’t get it without knowing what those words were… But before she could say anything else, people started entering the portal. So, Symphony followed.

The first thing the doll noticed was the mana in this place. It was chalk full of it. She flexed her fingers, resisting the urge to start spinning the intangible energy into thread. There was no reason to create such a thing. She had no master to give it to. Still, a large spool in her chest began to rotate, spinning itself. She might as well fill up that compartment with thread while there was an ample supply around. A soft hum and subtle trembling came from the doll as her inner workings came to life, doing what she was designed to. Clearly, the girl was not a leader, but a follower. She stood still, waiting to see what the others would do, and where they would go.
