Fantasy ~ FableWood ~

Luness shifted on her paws, listening to what the healer said of her mother, taking in every word and holding on tightly to what little the healer could tell her of her mother. Hearing the ball-of-fluff-to-be comment, Luness couldn't help but grin. She could feel her heart flutter a bit, as she attempted to picture her mother. She sounded heavenly. If only... At this thought, Luness felt crestfallen and her grin disappeared almost as quickly as it had appeared. Looking to the side, Luness listened to everything the healer said about her mother, wishing more than anything that she could still meet her.

Hearing the healer's apology, Luness' gaze shot back to the healer and she was shocked to see the caring facial expression looking back at her. Quickly shutting her gaping jaw, Luness simply nodded at the idea of learning the lullaby. Luness still couldn't quite understand why so many people she hardly knew were so willing to help her, but she could feel her heart warming up to the aspect, slowly, but surely. Luness' ears flickered towards the healer, waiting to hear the lullaby so she could copy it and learn it. After all, werecats and werewolves seemed to be naturally gifted in their ability to sing, which was typically matched by their howling. Despite Luness being a lynx primarily and not much of a howler, it would still be in her blood with a werewolf as her father.

Elena stayed close for the most part. She didnt want to wander off in fear of ending up captive. the sight of torn cloth told her Anya already fell to that fate. It sickened her to think she might be hurt. Ever since they arrived at this icey land, things have been much more intense, and the battles more dangerous. If they werent careful, a member of the group might actually lose their life on this adventure. Hearing the door, elena immediately lifted a hand andthe book, sword materializing and ice lifting under her grasp. After having practiced a bit, she found ice was only a little harder to use than plant life. Maybe stone would be next.

Golems came running from the open doors, as Elena thought something might. She ran towards them too, out of whim, sliding under one, branches of ice blocking its weapon and her sword dragging across its exterior. The broken fragments rejoinedthe main body and she had only a moment to create another brack like wall before the club and wall clashed.

At least she was at the other side.

"We need heat, i think!! Or a way to break them beyond repair!" She shouted from their other side, moving ice to block.

"Tell mewhat to make!"

( God damn it I didn't get notifications -_- )

Nyr's hair floated in the air as she faced the dark entity in the eye of the storm. Blessed by the winds she was able to harness the power of lightning as well now as the gale wind, and her assault began. She hurled thunder after thunder and so did the dark abomination as well. Some crackled, some shot towards the ground as the winds howled between the two wind sorcerers.

She felt fury overtaking her heart as she commanded the lightning. The unshackled wrath of nature coursed through her veins... it felt overwhelming and all mighty. Her eyes burned in yellow light as electricity surrounded her, hurling more and more thunder at the dark orb, fury consuming her mind. She did not care about the wind or anything else... she just wanted to destroy the darkness before her.

(( no worries my friend :) everyone slips every now and then. I'm sure ill make a slip up some day))

Leo stared as the two golems came lumbering into the room. "Spirit of the forest, protect us..." He let the sentence trail off there, he had never seen a golems before and was particularly impressed by the size of these two. Straightening himself he reached for his ax and spun it around through the air, landing it in the crook of his arm. He listened to Elena's words and agreed. Although he was a forest spirit guardian, his mentor had always been able to teach him other things that would aid him in situations such as this. Though he could not create a jet of flames to melt the golem, he could make it a tad easier. He closed his good eye and brought his free hand up to his face palm flat, "Oh great spirits of the world, i call upon the energiesed of the sun in the sky to help in my time of need." Upon the finish of the prayer the blades of his axe began to heat up exponentially. He had never been able to call upon the actual powers of fire, but he never had a problem drawing energy to create heat. He smiled, he knew this would come in handy with all the ice and snow. He crouched and bolted towards one of the golems. The golem immediately brought the massive club down on where Leo was charging. Leo made a quick dash to the left and then continued towards it. Once he reached the creatures feet, he put his energy into jumping as hard as he could. As he passed the golems body he brought one end of the blade into the creatures body, a loud HISSSSSS emanating from where the hot metal touched the monsters flesh. After the attack he followed through with the jump and kicked off the creatures face back wards, landing on the ground a few yards away, contemplating his next move.

Banba took a step back, but made a noise in her throat when she didn't move any further. Se stood for a second longer, confusion and fear written across her face. It was a second too long, however and she was struck by the second golem's club, sending her into a wall. Catching her breath as she sat in the broken ice and rock, banba's eyes were wide.

"I can't shift..." She muttered, panicking. "Why can't I shift?"

She didn't let herself dwell on it any longer and she ran forward, skidding under the golems and stopping beside Elena, digging her claws into the ice and leaving scrape marks.

"Got anything in your bag of tricks for me?" She called, sending a grin her way, but keeping a watchful eye on the golems.

((Man, I want to write this lullaby, but I am a terrible lyricist... @Lioness075 ))

The healer set her bowl down, slipping back into her true form. Scars stretched on her muzzle and she lifted her head and began to sing. The lilting melody spoke of still nights, of dark things and safe, soft dens. It sang of heartache and new joy, and it sang of the love of a mother for her cub. The she wolf sang it over again and continued until Luness knew enough that she could join in. Then she would sing it together with the young werecat, all the while remembering her life, and the joy that one other individual could bring.

The Golem Leo had struck tumbled backwards, the impact on hard stone floor shattering it to pieces. Ward shouted as the second golem swung at Banba. He let out a sigh of relief when she did not seem injured. Just then a massive gust of wind came billowing through the doors, pushing the other golem back to where it had come from.

"No one touches my friends!" A familiar voice called as Leia stood in the open gateway, sword drawn and the air spirit curving defensively over her head.

"Hey! I hope I didn't miss too much fun." She grinned at Elena and Banba. "Lets show this walking snow cone what we can do!" With that she jumped forward, chasing the golem through the archway she had blown it through. Above them the roof began to shake as Nyr battled with the magical entity controlling the storm.

Flecks of ice bounced off of Ward's stiff feathers. He hoped the roof would hold. Following Leia's lead he ran through to the next room. Leia had stopped just inside, staring daggers at a figure who sat on an elevated platform in a gilded throne. At his side, bound and unconscious was Anya.

A cloudy orb sat by the throne on the other side. The man who occupied the throne was as blue as the ice golems, with elegant grey robes trimmed in silver. He held the tip of a dagger to Anya's throat.

"My ice soldiers aren't bested yet!" He cackled with glee. "Finish them first!"

As soon as Alexander was aboard securely, Quincy took off. She kept her pace at a steady, long canter, even as the storm worsened more. The raven is fighting it. Its almost enough to blow us over. But the horse pressed onward, knowing in her heart that their destination lay beyond the worst of the weather. As she went, she caught faint trails of Leo and Ward, with the fainter smells of humans. They really had gone ahead. She had to slow to a trot, huffing softly, but keeping to her course. They were in the worst of the snow and wind now, but Quincy pressed on undeterred. She just hoped Alexander could hang on in the insane wind.

Alexander hunkered down lower, he didn't expect riding horseback to be quite so hard, "Just a bit farther, Quicy!" He called over the loud wind. He was trying to be comforting, but worried he came off demanding. "You can do it!"

It was cold, and Alexander was realizing that he couldn't feel his hands, and his toes were chilled through. It was a strange sensation, on he had never felt before. It was like a sharp sting, and numbness combined. He did not like it, and it worried him a little, but he ignored it to keep track of the more immediate dangers. (I'll let you determine when they get there, so that you can make Quincy respond and stuffs, @Flutterby)

Instead of calming the storm the battle between the darkness and Nyr amplified the intensity even further. The raven now completely consumed by the power of the wind opened her palms, and started absorbing the power of the storm near her. Her hair lit up with electric sparks as she gazed at her opponent, consuming its every blow.

Then she roared in fury, in a voice unrecognizable by anyone. This was the voice of the primordial elements which now took residence in the host - in Nyr.

" I AM BORN OF THUNDER! " she roared with menacing fury, now unleashing a powerful bolt at the darkness. It wavered for a bit but for the time being it stood the assault of the raven...

((Sigh, just realized I have to get up even earlier tomorrow, I should skedaddle now, sry. Go nuts without me, I had an idea but I won't make you all wait for it.))

The mare flicked an ear backward at the sound of his voice, giving a snort in response. She ducked her head and picked her feet up even higher over the snow, as the sky lit up violently. Her head flew up and she danced sideways, unable to see the source of the light in her true form. She whinnied angrily and moved forward again in earnest, back in her rocking canter, focused only on moving forward. Suddenly, her feet hit stone under the snow instead of ice. Jerking to a halt, the mare looked up, confronted by a looming castle. It was forbiding and scary, but she could smell their companions stronger now. She nickered to Alexander, pointing her nose at the building, signal they had arrived.

Leo watched as the battle unfolded. Once they had made their way into the room with the man on the platform, Leo's eyes widdened when he saw Anya trapped. He gripped his ax tighter and readied himself for another attack. Before he charged in he reached behined his back and pulled a small dagger, a pretty good sized weapon for anyone else. "Banba, take this until we figure out the chalice situation." He tossed Banba the blade. "How do we approach without any harm comming to Anya?"

Alexander slid off, "Thank you," He said, looking inside of the door that had been left ajar. "Are you alright? Come inside, if you need to rest, you should do it inside of the doors." He added, after a moment of thought. The storm was harsh, and it was getting no better. He could hear fighting inside, but figured it was surely safer in there than out in this weather. He worried about Quincy, though that worry may not reach his voice. That journey must have been hard on her.

Quincy made sure he was firmly on the ground before stepping away and transforming once again. She brushed past him into the dim hall, her breath making defined clouds as her chest rose and fell quickly. There was a sheen of sweat on her skin despite the freezing temperatures; it had been hard through the snow and her cheeks were flushed pink with exertion. “Theyre fighting. Lets go." She said breathlessly, already moving toward the sounds. Her feet scuffed softly as she pushed forward, ignoring the buzz in her mind. It was a heavy, distracted feeling, as if her brain was being pulled in two directions.

The storm was harsh indeed. Ashley was lucky that she has yet to freeze to death. After a long and rough ride, she finally made it to the Ice Castle. She thanked the Reindeer, who was suddenly interested in her stomach. Probably because it could sense the life inside of her. In return, she pet the Reindeer and went towards the Castle, only to see Alexander, Quincy and the front door open. She kinda tried to keep herself warm by wrapping herself around the cloak, but that even wasn't much help.

Alexander nodded at Quincy, moving to follow her inside, "Hey, give yourself a moment to catch your breath. A tired fighter is a dead fighter, I prefer you alive." Alexander told her, then he heard someone arriving. He turned, and saw Ashely. "You shouldn't have come out here in your fragile state, between the storm and the apparent fighting something could happen to you, or worse to the baby."

(I forgot to mention in his CS, Alexanders true weakness is children or babies. haha.)

Elena continued chipping away at golems, her creation magic taking form of ice spears. They shoot through the creatures as Elena distracts, then they expand and bloom into crystalline branches befire she can be touched. Being careful with her supply of energy as to not have to quit have way, she attemped to make most of them come to her instead of rushing them. Lightly panting by the time she shaved off the golems, her tactical mind was attempting to figure out a way to get him away from Anya. She took a breath and put on a calm face.

"This is boring and just sad. Is a mere golem the most you can do with that magic of yours? And that storm wasnt even an obsticle." She said in a taunting tone. There was no reason for the man to hurt Anya while they were playing his game, but she could also sense his pride and craving for entertainment. She figured with the right amount of push, he would snap and fight on his own, letting down his guard.

Quincy pressed a hand to her forehead as she turned, panting softly, first just to look at him, but then someone entered behind them. She motioned the young woman inside, pulling off her own cloak and handing it over. “It is far too cold and dangerous here!" She said worriedly, her breath catching uncomfortably at the end of her sentence. “What now?" She asked Alexander, meaning the sudden addition of Ashley.

The entire sky darkened for a moment before a massive thunder struck to the ground, leaving a big crater behind. From that crater rose Nyr, seemingly triumphant over the dark storm. She did not destroy it entirely but banished back the darkness so it would take a long time to recuperate. But that did not matter to her.

Her eyes popped open and they were burning in the primordial blue light of thunder. The original spark of vengeance which gave fire to mankind - burning as rage within her. Calling too much on the element of wind and recklessly absorbing the fury of the storm filled her with the wrath of nature - her mind was dark and only one goal was in front of her eyes: revenge.

" I will make them pay. " she whispered as she turned in the direction of the Ice Castle. Slowly and steadily she started to walk towards it... small crackles of electricity arcing from her body. No matter who would oppose her she will get revenge on those who dared to enslave her.

By the time she got inside, Ashley was covered in snow, which she shook off. Afterwards, she was greeted by Alexander, though not in a kindly matter. Just because she was pregnant doesn't mean she couldn't fight. Well, fighting up close and personal could put the baby in harm's way...So that's why she fought at a distance. Good thing she was an archer. She responded to Alexander's remark. "Well, just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I'm not capable of defending myself. Besides, sitting around and getting fat won't really get me anywhere. Plus it would make me feel bad if I was just relaxing back at the Castle while you guys are all out here." She started feeling insecure about her pregnancy once more and it became evident when she started cradling her stomach.

Alexander flashed Quincy a glance, he was obviously a bit irritated that Ashely had come. Perhaps he was too protective when it came to young anything, but he found it amazing that a mother-even a young one- would risk the life of her child in such a way. He attempted to throw the irritation from his face as he addressed Ashely: "Well, I suppose if you insist we go help the others, though I will hang back and assure nothing gets close enough to harm your child, miss... Ashley, was it?" He asked.

A frown settled heavily on the kelpie's face and she shook her head. Her hand reached for Alexander, settling on his forearm. “You go, you're a better fighter. I'll stick with her. She can watch my back, since Im a little winded." She said, a muscle at the corner of her mouth twitching. It had almost pained her to speak against him, as it was a slight step past his will. But it was dulled by the buzz in her mind, which she realized might be the chalise. It didn't control her, luckily, but it definitely was distracting.

He looked at Quincy, then at Ashley, assessing what Quincy had said and the potential risks either way, but quickly. There was a noise from the fighting in the other room, and his head turned to see what was going on, then he looked back at the two of them, "I suppose you're right. Besides, whatever they are fighting, I would imagine it doesn't expect fire in a place like this." His expression shifted, an almost cocky smirk forming in place of the flat line that his lips usually formed. "Stay safe," He added, to both of them, a warning and an expression of concern- to both of them equally. Then, he turned to head into the fight.

(As the fight seems to be on hold until Silverflights return, and that is usually when I am asleep, I'll just make a the blanket statement of human Alex is nimble, and fighting ice with fire. This is probably my last post tonight, though!)

As soon as Alexander left, Ashley turned over to Quincy. There was still a frown on her face. "I wish he didn't have to make me feel so insecure..." She said, thinking out loud and holding her stomach. Bringing life into the world was a very big responsibility, so she did make sure she was careful with each decision she made. Its not like she rushed into battles head-on or fought up close and personal or do anything that would put her baby at risk. "And I feel like a whale..." She muttered.

(Hehe, sorry for putting your character in the spotlight behind his back, @KattRai )

@Flutterby

Quincy watched Alexander go, forcing her breaths to slow. A faint vibration in the muscles of her body tugged her to follow, instictual magic running through her, but she forced it down. “He cares a lot about others, but he is not the best at expressing it." She said, slowly turning her eyes to the young woman. “We all just want you and your little one to be safe." She said, giving a small smile and taking hold of one of her hands to squeeze it lightly in reassurance. “Now, I need a moment. It was a long run, and Alexander is heavier than he looks." She said, leaning back on the wall and closing her eyes for a long moment, waiting for her breathing to normalize.
