Fantasy ~ FableWood ~

Malachai's eyes snapped on at the mention of bacon. His nose went into the air as he stood and rushed in, almost knocking a cook to the floor. Several moments later he walked out with a plate full of bacon, and sausages. He silently thanked Quincy as he turned looking for Achyls, his mouth full of bacon. Also partially wondering where everyone was

Nyr smiled at Vinter's response. She seemed to be an agile and a swift combatant - in some ways she actually reminded her of Luness. Aside from the hostile, clawing nature of course. Upon mentioning a not so warm welcome she raised her eyebrow, looking at her with a bit of suspicion. Although she knew that a pirate was generall despised by society Vinter seemed to be... well, honest enough not to have such issues. Smiling she nodded.

" Worry not, Vinter. You will find our group more accepting than you would think. And even those... " she here thought about Luness and Kallin " who are less happy about strangers - or old friends for that matter - can be convinced otherwise. Trust me. "

She winked at her. Seeing Leo approaching she turned her attention to Leandra and chuckled when she heard her being called as a lady.

" I would like to see a contest between the two of you, Leandra. " she said " It sounds to be a lot of fun. "

Having had her fill of fresh air, Achyls wandered back inside, to find everyone had left. Except for Malachai.

"dear Kai!" she gasped, appearing at his side with a soft grin. She noticed his face was now stuffed with bacon, and she couldn't help giggling at the sight of him. Letting it pass, she took his hand and smiled.

"W-where are the others?" she asked, looking around. As she turned, she just caught the sight of Quincy leaving, and swiftly stood. Not realising Malachai was still eating, she pulled him up from his seat, hurrying him along.

"The Tenacity! Kai, we ought to hurry!" she called, towing the dragon to the boat.

Malachai was a lot harder to move than first anticipated, and she found herself breathless by the time they reached the ship. It was stranger on the Tenacity, given the appearance of a newcomer. Now silent, she approached the others, leading Malachai with her.

(is that cool with you @andujarprime ?)

Malachai smiled as Achyls pushed him along. His main focus on the bacon that was coming to an end. They reached the ship and he still had three pieces of bacon. One in each hand and a third in his mouth. He laughed to himself as the raven pauses to catch her breath. Unexpectedly he reached down and picked her up in a tight hug, spinning around to face the rest of the companions. He paused with her in the air as he looked upon a new face. He was clearly still feeling the effects of the alcohol.

((I can't find the post where Kallin got the Memorien off of Luness, so I'm just going to pretend she gave it to him.))

Kallin examined the object carefully. In all honesty it seemed rather plain, a simple copper rod inlaid with abalone shell. A small crystal sat at its top. It looked to Kallin like a gaudy wand.

"Let's get to the ship, we can figure out how it works there." He handed it to Ward, who took it curiously. f course the helpful animate book that pointed them to it never said anything abut how to get it to work.

Just then Leia came pelting down the stairs, chasing a flash of black and white as Otto shot into the dining hall. She had managed to hastily put on her breeches and tunic before giving chase. She performed a flying tackle and aimed to land straight on top of the offending pup. "Gotcha!"

Leia slid to a halt just before Kallin, Arianne, Elena and Ward, who stared at her in surprise for a moment. Ward laughed and offered her a hand to help her up.

"Um..what'd I miss?" She asked with a smile.

Leia helped herself to some food and brought it to the ship. Lucille was waiting for them, as Ward had said, leaning against the rail speaking with someone Leia didn't recognize.

"..I 'ave not told zem ze precise details of my...'colourful' past." Lucille was explaining to Vinter.

"Meaning you haven't told us you used to be a sky pirate?" Leia offered helpfully. Lucille stared at her. "I figured it out."

Kallin was one of the last to walk up the gangplank. When he looked up and caught sight of Vinter his glowing yellow eyes widened. he said nothing for a long moment.

"What the heck are you doing here?" It was in no way unkind, in truth kallin was actually glad to see her, but he would rather be fed to the jabberwocky a second time before he'd admit it. Lucille looked between Kallin and Vinter, then threw back her head and laughed.

Ward was still puzzling over the Memorien, staying close to Elena while he turned it this way and that. He reached the ship in time to hear Lucille laugh.

Upon closer examination the rounded crystal at the top seemed to be hollow. Within it sat a tiny blue shard. It looked as though it had broken off something.

"Curious." To see it better he held it up to the light of the morning sun. The light caught in the crystal and all of a sudden there was a blinding flash. He shut his eyes tightly as the Memorien activated, nearly dropping it.

After a few moments the light condensed into a solid image. A cloaked figure placing what looked like a fragment of a large key in a box and leaving it in a wide chamber. The Memorien's image followed the figure out to the front of a large and ancient building facade, decorated with water creatures. Leia recognized the smooth and rounded features of water spirits much like her Lee and there were horses she could only guess were something like Kelpies. there were others but she couldn't begin to tell what they were. Without warning the image shut off, leaving Ward in stunned silence still holding the Memorien and looking to Kallin for an explanation.

Kallin looked just as surprised, but for a different reason. "I know where that is." He said definitively. he had just finished pouring over the location for hours.

"Its on the Isle of springs...that's where we needed to go."

Lucille left off laughing at Kallin's reaction to Vinter and gave her helmsman the coordinates he had passed on. The ship purred to life, turning in a slow arc to follow its new course.

In a lavish room of an elegant state home A figure watched the morning from the other side of a large bay window. He wore a grim expression.

"I was expecting you at dawn." He said irritably to the shadow that had slithered in from under the door.

The shadow twitched and rose, forming a robed figure with a black, misty face. His ice blue and glowing eyes were narrowed cruelly. Caraboss' right hand.

"I have been tracking your prey."

"And what good will that do? They are far too powerful for me to defeat!" The duke snapped. Both of his plans had gone awry thanks to those meddling misfits. Now he risked losing it all, but he still had one more card...and the king still had no heir.

"They will be vulnerable now. They have gone to the Isle of springs. It is imperative they don't find what they are looking for."

The duke raised an eyebrow. "I can't enter there." He growled.

"Which is why...you will send these." The right hand stepped aside, revealing what the swirling shadows behind him had been hiding.

The duke grinned. "Now we're talking."

In another room a young serving girl had a cup pressed to the wall. When she heard the dark laughter she waved her hands frantically, rushing over to a desk and scrawling a hasty note. She dashed ot of the room down the hall and out to the dovecot where she opened the cage to a small brown pigeon. She attached the note securely to its leg and launched the bird into the air.

Brenna had to know...the heroes were in danger!

Elena came aboard and offered Leia a warm smile and a good morning. A new character seemed on board as well. They took out the Memorien and examined it. Elena expected something.. More. It looked like some witch related souvenir that would lay around forgotten in a little kids room. She stayed by Ward, Watching the object with curiosity, as he moved it around to see what it might do. When the light was created, Elena almost tripped backwards with surprise. She had no idea what to make of it. She supposed this was indeed what they were looking for. Kallin seemed to recognize it.

"So, I guess we are already heading over. I am a little worried."

She had developed a bit of a fear of Caraboss since the incident.

(Sorry, crap post. I'll do better tomorrow.$

Arianne was ecstatic, seeing Kallin leading the others out from the room, probably heading towards somewhere important. Following the strange mage Arianne felt something... strange. It was warm and fuzzy, something strangely familiar yet so alien. Even though she had just met the one person she had heard so much about she felt something strange towards him.

" Could it be... " she mused, then her face turned red from the thought. No... she can not feel like that towards him. Why would she? This did not make any sense to her.

She boarded the ship with the rest of the heroes and she had met the one she did not meet before. The dread raven Nyr.

The moment their eyes met she felt a strange form of magic which scared her. Then she felt a sharp pain in her head and screaming for a moment fell to her back. Looking up now to the raven she did not understand what just happened... but whatever it was it puzzled her greatly.

@SilverFlight

Nyr looked at the others as many of the boarded the Tenacity when she spotted the little girl. The moment their eyes met she felt a strange pain at the back of her mind and she took few steps back and broke eye contact which made her feel better. The little girl however screamed as she fell on to the deck. Nyr was confused but then she noticed someone else arriving and her heart sank: Achyls flew towards them carrying Malachi. Panicking she turned to the others.

" Please excuse me, I need to go to my quarters to grab my things for the journey. "

Before heading downstairs towards her room she contacted Leo with her mind. " Meet me at my room please if you can. I have something I must tell you. "

With that she hurried away.

@zCrookedz @SkywardSocks @everyone

Vinter smiled seeing as the others didn't have anything against a new member "Anytime, dear!" she replied in regards to the competition. Maybe she took it a little too serious, but she would've loved to make that happen. For bragging rights, of course.

They were becoming quite the group now. A lot of people made their appearance. It seems it was time to embark on a journey. One, in particular, caught Vinter's attention. It was none other than Kallin. Her eyes began shining brightly. "Wo-what am I doing here? Of course, how much you must have missed me! I am back! For good!" She teased.Vinter thought about hugging Kallin but didn't. She was gonna make him do it, for the fun was too good not to be had that way. "Come on and give VI a big hug, you embarrassed little cloud of smoke!" Which might not prove to be the plan with the best results. Now, for all intents and purposes, Vinter was in no way, shape or form willingly trying to annoy the heck out of Kallin...too much. But Kallin traveled with her and Lucille some time ago and that gave them some time to form a friend-ship on the sky ship. Vinter started pacing slowly towards Kallin, opening her arms. She hadn't noticed the others leaving so suddenly.

Luness remained off to the side of the ship in her own world, but she caught the glimpse of a blinding light coming from behind her and she turned around in time to see the image flickering to life from the Memorien.

With her curiosity piqued, Luness walked over to join the edge of the group and was beyond curious about the location when she saw the ancient building and its watery designs along with the horses. Kelpies were they?

When the image flickered away, Luness was pleased to hear that Kallin knew of the location and that it was in the same place that they were headed to. That would certainly help them in get things done quicker.

Yet, seeing the pirate lady, whose name she still hadn't heard of, walking towards Kallin with the intention of hugging him, Luness frowned and crossed her arms over her chest, though she made no move to intercept the pirate yet. If Kallin made it clear that he didn't want to hug her and the pirate continued to try then Luness would intervene, but for now she merely waited to see what would happen.

Suddenly, Luness heard someone scream nearby and she jerked her head to look in the direction to find Arianne on the deck and in clearly in pain.

Frowning at this, Luness looked around for a source, but couldn't find any.

Assuming the girl was just looking for attention, Luness opted to ignore her altogether.

@Aldur Forgehammer @SilverFlight @DawnAntalios

Leandra raised an eyebrow at Vinter when she mentioned liking the idea of a competition, as Leandra had never really been trained on weaponry before. She was qualified on a M16, but she'd never really been that much of a marksman with it. She definitely didn't know anything about using a flintlock.

Deciding to dissuade such a thing, Leandra quickly said, "I've never shot a flintlock before, I wouldn't know the first thing about it and I really don't like guns anyhow. I'll pass on any possible future competitions, sorry."

Seeing Kallin's reaction to Vinter's presence, Leandra furrowed her brows in confusion, though she was soon giggling at Vinter's response to Kallin and her obvious attempt to get a hug from the mage.

Somehow, Leandra couldn't really foresee the mage allowing such a thing and if he didn't stop Vinter, then surely Luness would.

Hearing Nyr excusing herself, Leandra gave the dread raven a brief wave, though she didn't pay that much attention to her so she didn't notice any distress on Nyr's end.

Suddenly, Leandra heard a shriek nearby and quickly looked in the direction to see Arianne in pain and on the deck.

Wasting no time, Leandra rushed to the girls' side and knelt beside her before putting a hand on the girl's shoulder and worriedly asking her, "Arianne, are you okay? What happened?"

@SilverFlight @Aldur Forgehammer @DawnAntalios

Otto began to laugh as Leia tackled him to the ground and they both went spilling across the dinning hall floor. He had not counted on Leia being so fast at jumping out of bed and catching him. But once he wiggled free of the girl he bounded around her smiling happily as the rest of the group got finished with breakfast and headed for The Tenacity. Otto followed behind the others as they left and hopped aboard the boat and tilted his head at the sound of the new comer. But after a few moments he realized there was a much yummier smell coming from Leo and Otto sat and watched his friend.

Leo noticed Otto sitting at his feet and he reached into his satchel and pulled out the wrapped bacon. He held out the food which was swiftly scooped up by the little wolf and he ran off to finish his breakfast. Leo listened to the group as they talked to the newcomer. She seemed like a very lively personality and her tools of combat were very interesting pieces. He admired the craftsmanship of her weapons and her attire was something he had only seen on the Tenacity.

As Nyr spoke to him through his mind he watched as she went off to her room on the boat and he followed suit. As he reached her room he held onto the top of the door frame, ducking slightly as he entered he looked to Nyr with a smile "I am glad to see you have recouped from yesterdays adventure."

@SilverFlight @DawnAntalios

Quincy boarded the ship just in front of Ward and those with him, and turned to ask Kallin something just in time to watch the image coming from the Memorien. Seeing the architecture of where they were headed, she modified her intended question slightly. "Will there be other water creatures where we are going? Or are the waters on the Isle of Springs uninhabitable?" The kelpie was so focused on this bit of information, that the shriek from the small girl fell on her ears unheard. It had been quite a while since the darkness had tainted her salt pool, killing the creatures that had shared it with her. Seeing even just stone representations of them stirred up a longing within her for more aquatic friends. Not that her land-loving companions, or spirits forbid, her airborne love, were not good enough, but there was something to be said for a shared origin.

@SilverFlight

"Don't you dare." Kallin warned Vinter, but there was a laugh in his voice that he could not stifle. he turned to Quincy, answering her question as best he could.

"I am sure we'll run into some, its an entire island made of magical pools...whether they'll be benign, or guardians of the waters I really couldn't say."

He dodged around her, trying to avoid Vinter's arms. "I-I will use this!" He held up the staff before him in a protective motion. He would never in truth, but he had always threatened. Suddenly the scream of the young girl ripped his attention away. He scrambled over to her and helped Leandra pick her up.

Lifting her chin gently with a gloved hand he checked her face for injuries. "It doesn't look like you hit your head. Did yo see a rat or something?"

"A rat indeed!" Lucille said, crossing her arms in a huff, offended at the very idea.

Leia returned Elena's greeting happily as her spirits began to roam about the deck. Bob, the earth spirit marched up to Vinter and placed his chin on Vinter's leg, looking up at her like a dog. Having about the size and build of a sheep, with large moist black eyes he looked completely endearing, even if his body was made entirely of brown, lumpy rock. His stubby tail wagged playfully.

Ward placed a gentle hand on Elena's shoulder, giving it a comforting squeeze. "Don't worry, whatever comes, we won't be caught off guard this time."

"Heck we won't." Leia said confidently.

"You can throw evil magic, water beasts or whatever at us. We rock."

The Tenacity drifted lazily through the sky. For almost the entire journey they saw no sign of opposition. "Though I can't help but feel Caraboss knows what we're up to..." Ward said uneasily.

Luness watched the interaction between Vinter and Kallin with curiosity and confusion, as she didn't understand what the joke was even though Kallin seemed rather amused.

As Kallin rushed off to aid Leandra in aiding Arianne, who seemed to have just been terribly frightened by something, Luness shifted her gaze to Vinter and looked the pirate up and down, curious about the odd metal object at her side that had been referred to as a 'flintlock'. What did that object do?

Deciding against asking Vinter about it, Luness instead shifted her attention to Otto, who appeared to have found even more bacon.

Amused by Otto's obsession over bacon, Luness walked up to him and then asked, "So, how did you manage to find even more bacon, Otto?"

@Aldur Forgehammer @zCrookedz

Vinter did not expect Kallin to have a different reaction than that. Halfway through, Vinter felt her leg being touched. She looked down only to be met with the very high-pitched sound of a child screaming. She turned her head around before she could notice what touched her leg. "Ugh! How rude! My sensitive ears can only hold for so long!" With that she looked back down at her legs. Surprise, surprise. " 'Tis a being made of rock!" She exclaimed "How unconventionally adorable!" Vinter crouched down and tried to pet the rocky body of the creature. Of course, it proved difficult. "Uh...what's your name, little feller?" She assumed the creature belonged to Leia, since she knew a little about everyone else in the group, though Vinter didn't know if it could speak. Judging by its nature, that thing wasn't probable.

@SilverFlight

Malachai had gently placed Achyls back on the ground as he curiously made his way to the group. Halfway there a small human looking child let out a scream and crumpled O the floor. She was new to him so he was in no rush to check her out, but he did notice Nyr dashing away, and soon after Leo following. He took a step back and took hold of Achyls' hand pulling her along. His bacon was finished by now, but he smelled more. He looked around again and noticed another newcomer, another human it seemed. This on in the getup of a pirate, he looked at her curiously before finding the source of the bacon. He smiled as he made his way to Otto and Luness. " Bacon is not so hard to find if one knows where to look, or smell for that matter." He responded to Luness as he greeted them with a smile. He looked nodded in the girls direction "who's the kid?" Then the pirate. "And the pirate? I don't remember seeing either of them on the ship when we docked at the castle."

@Aldur Forgehammer

Luness grinned at Malachai and said in response to his comment about bacon, "This is true. Bacon seems to be a favorite among us, or so it would seem."

Hearing Malachai asking about Arianne and then Vinter, Luness shrugged in response before saying, "I know the child is named Arianne and the pirate is named Vinter. Beyond their names though, I don't know much else. Vinter seems to have some history with Kallin, but I don't know any of the details."

After saying that last part, Luness frowned a bit, as she was beginning to feel a bit jealous, really. What had Vinter and Kallin done together in the past? Had they gone on adventures together in the past?

Pushing aside such thoughts, Luness shook her head and then continued to frown, as her jealousy grew.

Elena watched others drift around, chatting casually. She stuck by Ward, quiet and thinking. When he mentioned Caraboss knowing, her skin turned a shade or two too white. She leaned back into a wall and slid down to take a seat, her brain racking with thoughts that wouldn't have concerned her had she not already decided she needed to do this trip without magic. She felt a prickle of fear, wondering for a moment ifCaraboss was going to target her.

Looked up at Ward, from where she was on the ground now she frowned deeply.

"Those were my thoughts as well. I.."

She became a bit embarrassed for a moment.

"I don't think my powers are going to let me do much today. If Caraboss knows we are here, has the slightest hunch, I don't want to be a hidrance."

Achyls followed Malachai, blushing when her hand met his.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Vinter," she smiled, bowing her head to the pirate. A new companion would always be welcomed, but her grip on Malachai tightened subconsciously. She looked over to Luness, who seemed to have an expression very different to welcoming on her face, hidden partially however. She gave her a gentle smile before looking back to Vinter, cocking her head slightly to try and figure her out. Inching closer to her, she felt a small tug on her hand, which drew her back to Malachai's side. She placed her head daintily on his shoulder, eyes still on the newcomer.

@Aldur Forgehammer

Otto perked up his ears when he heard his Alpha coming over to him as he continued to munch on his breakfast. He had since shifted back into his human form and was pleasantly munching on piece after piece savoring each bite and then moving onto another. He looked up at Luness the last bit of a piece disappearing behind his lips. "Mmmmm, Leo brought it for me." Otto sifted through the napkin and picked up another piece.

As he munched on that piece, he felt the large dragon approach and he scooped up the bacon and turned to him as he spoke. Bacon was Otto's favorite thing in the entire world, next to Leo and his friends. He smiled at the dragon and then looked where the others were looking. It seemed everyone was very interested in the two newcomers. However Otto was much more interested in his bacon and was soon riffling for another piece.

@Lioness075 @andujarprime @SkywardSocks

Malachai grew wide eyed in curiosity. "Really now?! It seems Kallin is much more interesting than I thought." He said with a smile. "Did he tell you how good of a sky racer he is?" He teased then backed up holding a hand out. "Before you start, I know you two have become close, so let me just say in my defense I tried to keep him away from as much danger as possible. I swear the bruising and anything broken We're not from me!" He jokes with her, half serious. He certainly didn't want her to hold him accountable for any of Kallin's injuries. After a few seconds he shifted again keeping Achyls at his side. It was a comfort to him, and she brought about a wrath in his heart that no fire ever had.

@Lioness075 @SkywardSocks

Grinning at Otto mentioning that Leo had brought Otto the bacon, Luness could only imagine how strong of a relationship those two held. They'd been through a lot together after all.

Hearing the mention of Kallin having raced with Malachai, Luness' frown became a smirk, as she shifted her attention to Malachai and said, "Is he now? He never ceases to surprise me."

When Malachai began defending himself for Kallin's injuries, Luness shrugged dismissively before saying, "Well, did he bither to inform you that he was injured prior to the race? It's his own stubborn fault that he was so badly injured to begin with."

Shaking her head at this, Luenss then peered over at Kallin, half wondering about his history with Vinter and also wondering how long it'd take for them to arrive at the island.

As much as Luness feared what was to come, she still was immensely curious and so she felt her heart beginning to speed up inside her chest with both excitement and fear.

@andujarprime @SilverFlight @zCrookedz

Arianne shook her head as she finally got up from the ground with the help of Leandra and Kallin. She blushed and turned to them, blushing and being embarrassed from making such a scene.

" I-I am thank you. I do not know what this was. "

She was confused and puzzled but she snapped out of it quickly. Looking around she noticed a strange new member of the group, a pirate of some sort, one who was called Vinter by the others. A bit afraid from the newcomer she decided it would be best not going near her.

Only now did she realize that she actually had no place to stay for now. Everyone seemed to have a room on their own but since she was new here she was the only one not having any sort of place to stay. Turning towards Achyls she wanted to ask the raven girl but then she noticed how close she was to her dragon companion... and Arianne was certain that they would love some privacy. Instead she turned towards Kallin. Her heart started beating faster once more for a moment but ignoring this she looked up to him, blushing even more than before, painting her entire head red.

" Lord Kallin... " she started, really embarrassed " I... do not really have a cabin to stay in for now... so I was wondering if.... I could perhaps... "

She shook her head then started again, looking in his eyes.

" Can I please stay at your place for now? I will not be a bother, I promise! "

@SilverFlight

Nyr smiled briefly when Leo entered her room. She was glad that the guardian could make it.

" I feel much better. All thanks to you, my love. " she said, hugging the veteran but then she quickly pulled away, the smile vanishing from her face. " Leo... there is something I must tell you... "

She looked outside the window, seeing only the sun. She contemplated long and hard how to tell thing thing to Leo... but she could not find the perfect way until now. She took a deep breath and finally turned her attention to Leo. Her eyes reflected fear and sorrow as she spoke.

" Mother Moon... is gone. " she said finally " I tried to speak with her... I tried to commune with her but I was unable to. She just vanished, completely. And I start to believe that it is my fault. "

Luness overheard Arianne speaking to Kallin nearby and her eyes instantly landed on the child upon hearing her request.

Already snarling, Luness briskly walked up to the trio and then looked down at Arianne, but before she could say anything Leandra interjected and even stepped in front of Luness to be safe.

Seeing Leandra's actions, Luness growled at her, but Leandra didn't budge an inch, as she faced Arianne and then said with a warm smile, "There's no need for that, Arianne. This is a large ship after all. I'm sure extra cabins were made in case others were to join us."

Looking around, Leandra tried to find Lucille to ask this very question and soon sighted her and quickly beckoned her over to join the small group so that they could diffuse this situation before Luness blew a fuse about the girl trying to sleep in the same room as Kallin.

@DawnAntalios @SilverFlight

"That's Bob." Leia said happily, and the spirit barked as Vinter scratched his head. "Make sure he doesn't stand on your toes. He's really heavy!" Leia called the two other spirits to her and they coiled about her shoulders, Lee rubbing her cheek affectionately with a watery muzzle.

"This is Lee, my water spirit, and Tad, the air spirit." Tad whistled and Lee trilled enthusiastically. "They understand what you say, but they don't talk."

@Aldur Forgehammer

"You would never be a hindrance." Ward reassured her. "And do not worry, Kallin said this spring was guarded by magic barriers, I am sure that will make it difficult for Caraboss to come after us. I will tell Lucille to keep the ship's magic canons prepared. She hasn't bested us yet, and she won't this time either." He leaned forward and kissed the top of Elena's head, wishing he could ease her worry more.

@Bea Delaine

Lucille eyed Luness, giving her a challenging stare that said 'Just you try and make trouble on my ship.' "We do not have inexhaustible space," She shrugged. "'Zer are no more rooms I am afraid."

Kallin looked a little surprised at the sudden request, then he gave Arianne a warm smile (he hoped it looked warm at any rate). "Of course you can." He began rummaging through his pockets and produced a small brass key. "Here. I don't need sleep much anyway because of the curse, so you're not bugging me if you take it. Besides, better you have your own room then have to share with Vinter." He shot the woman a teasing look.

If there had been another point beyond giving her a place to stay, Kallin had missed it completely. He smiled at her again and patted her head before standing up and turning upon hearing his name. He caught what Luness had said. "Accurate but still, ouch." The fact that she seemed particularly bad-tempered confused him. Arianne was just a kid after all, but Luness seemed to dislike her more than she disliked most other strangers...or perhaps he was missing another point.

@Lioness075 @andujarprime @Aldur Forgehammer @DawnAntalios

The ship turned, its white wing-sails cutting through a thick bank of cloud. Suddenly they were immersed in a thick white blanket. Kallin held still on the deck. You never knew when turbulence would strike and if you couldn't see you might find yourself dumped over the rail.

As quickly as it had come it vanished again and before them, rising up out the cloud was an immense island. The rock walls towered above them, dwarfing the tenacity utterly and completely. It was a tiny white speck on a vast landscape of stone and moss. Ward craned his neck to try and see the top of the cliffs, but wasn't really sure if he could. Below them a wide peninsula of flat land jutted out from the cliff walls, covered in thick grass and littered with wild mountain flowers. The entrance through the cliff walls was a large cave mouth, flanked on each side by stone statues of nyads, beautiful women draped in waves and holding jugs of water. Real water poured from the jugs, spilling over them and trickling down little grooves in the earth.

The Tenacity banked and descended, coming level with the edge of the flat land and the crew set to docking her properly. Beyond the statues the cave entrance had no other carving or decoration. Echoing off the walls Ward could hear the rush of a waterfall not too far away. The cave floor and walls were dripping wet and covered in moss.

Elena curled her fingers around the bar and squeezed them, her grip looser than would be nice and anxiety still a little too high. She listened to Wards reassurance. She wanted to believe every word, but remembered. Caraboss managed to get into the Tenacity. If there was a magical barrier though, it seemed she was not truly at any disadvantage.

"Thank you.. I won't be too panicked ab-"

The turbulence hit and she ended up half sprawled out on the deck. Thoroughly embarrassed, she scrambled back up, and stood with the pull in her hands. Her paled face took on a light pink and she dismounted slowly from the ship to walk it off. The view was amazing. She wandered towards the statues, not daring touch them in fear of compromising their beauty.
