Fantasy Eternal Sunset

Clerinde stopped to pat her cat, kneeling in front of the feline. There wasn't much to do that day, as she had completed most of the tasks set out for her. Maybe some exploring would do..No I would only get lost.

The siblings glanced at Ashleys stomach at the mention of her daughter. Caine turned away, hurrying silently over to a meat shop. As he did, Cylin waited outside, like always. She thought for a moment, seemingly starting off into space. "A daughter, huh..... I'm sure she'll be as beautiful as you are. Definitely," she said with a bright smile. "Hmmm.... If you're going to come here, you absolutely must look at the animals here!" Meanwhile, Caine had bought a somewhat large amount of meat for both of the pets and was now exiting the store.

The streets of Dimtorlix were flooded with people, chatting, trading, seeking their destination. Ish was just one of the millions trying to shove their way through the busy crowd. Eventually, after arguing with several street performers about the rights and wrongs of semi-violent pushing, he made his way to the quiet area of the city, where his small shop lay among a few ruined towers, along with some cozy houses and a cafe.

He slowly opened the crystal-like door, and flipped the closed sign to its opposite side, and opposite meaning. Dust gathered on the books, most of which weren't the ones he had written. On the counter sat a small pile of clean, shining novels; these were his own works, small gems in a goldmine which few had yet discovered. He sat down at his desk behind the stack, and began to work on a new story, based on a dream he had the night before. If he were lucky that day, more than one customer would enter his store. If he had somehow found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, however, someone would buy his own writings, they would spread, and he would achieve his dream of becoming a Raynorse-famous author.

"One day," he whispered to himself, "things will be different."

"Thanks." Ashley smiled. She then felt her daughter kicking again. At times, she didn't mind, but whenever she was trying to sleep, that was when it annoyed her. She then clasped both her hands together underneath her stomach. Besides the insomnia, the heartburn, the backache, Ashley did her best to try and not stress or fret. "Not sure what kind of animal I'd want to adopt. Thinking between a Dog, a Cat or a Wolf. Something that isn't a danger to my little girl and me." Although she felt strain on her legs, the next time she was going to rest was when the siblings find a place to eat.

"I would recommend a large animal like mine and Caine's, but it's difficult to tame them, same with wolves, who tend to act on instinct. In your case, a loyal, protective dog would be best," Cylin stated, petting Aiji. "But if you intend to raise the animal from birth, like we did, they're easier to tame. They make the best guard animals. " While bringing this up, Cylin thought back to when they are younger. During a performance, a man had tried to steal their money. However, Shiki and Aiji tackled him to the ground. But luckily, Cylin stopped the two before they could devour him.

Returning back to present time, Caine carried the meat package while heading towards a book store that had caught Cylin's eye some days ago. She had seen a book that looked interesting and was waiting to buy it today. Though Cylin was chatting with Ashley, she couldn't help but notice the book store.

"Hmmm, might get a wolf pup then. Then hope that when he grows up, he won't eat me or my little girl." she joked. "So how long have you two been...Street Performers?" she asked, hoping it wasn't too rude or abrupt. She was getting along with them perfectly and didn't want to get on their bad side. Suddenly, she started thinking about her late husband, which turned her smile into a frown. She then thought about getting two pets. A Wolf Pup and a Kitten being her top two choices. Knowing Ashley, she'd smother them and turn them into cuddlers, however, that would be bad because they'd probably fight over who gets to cuddle with her first.

Indi stared at the sky from her current position. It was nearing noon, and many of the Nordio inhabitants would retreat to their caves for lunch.

(yes, this is a time-skip.)

Caine threw a quick glare towards Ashley. He hated being called a street performer, though it was true. He'd rather call it a job, but Cylin didn't care. "Hmm.... Let's see. I was about 13 and Caine was around 14. We've been by ourselves since then, so we had to make money somehow," she said as if it was nothing. As they neared the book store, Caine noticed it was nearly noon, meaning they had plenty of time to do whatever they wanted.

The chicas were at a cute tiny cafe with glittering crystals everywhere. Una had a whats left of a slice of chocolate cake on her plate and Uma had a vanilla parfait with cherries on top. "Its so sparkly," Uma said as she stared at the crystal wind chime in the window where they sat. "Should we buy it, I think its for sale" Una got up and talked to the owner. Nya and Nai sit on the table with a pile of fruit in front of them, Nya steals one of Uma's cherries and Nai eats the rest of her parfait. "Hey!" Uma exclaimed she took the other cherry and ate it "take that!" Uma said. Nya frowned and threw at pear at Uma she caught it and bit it. "Too slow" she smiled.

Una came back "Ok Uma I bought it grab it and lets go" Una said. Uma gets up and grabs the crystal wind chime from the window.

Indi couldn't help but feel a growing pit in her stomach, like something was going to go wrong. She shook off the feeling and stared at the diamond she found. They were becoming more rare, as there was a large demand for the jewel, and finding one that large was very lucky.

"Today is going to be different..." she murmured quietly to herself. Get yourself together, Clerinde! Remember your shell.

Ashley took note on Caine glaring at her, as if she offended him or something. "I'm sorry, I...Didn't mean to offend you." she said in response. Turning her attention back to Cylin, she listened. "I might spend the night here. When the sun is down, that's the worst time for me to walk home. Considering how far I live." She then looked down at her stomach, worried about her daughter.

"Ah... Then you can stay at our house. It's not as big as some of the houses here, but there's plenty of room. You can wait with Caine, if you'd like. I'll only be a moment," Cylin said, speaking for both Caine and herself, before entering the bookstore through its crystal-like door. Caine waited just outside the store with Aiji And Shiki. This was the first time she had been in store or even this part of the city. However, the books looked different than other stores. She noticed there were a few particular books that were cleaner than the others. Perhaps those were new or had better care. Either way, they looked interesting. Cylin glanced at the man behind the counter briefly before resuming her searching.

While waiting for Cylin to come back, Ashley decided to wait outside with Caine. A lot of thoughts flew through her mind. Most of them were sad and depressive thoughts. Was it her hormones acting up again? Was she about to have a Mood Swing? She sighed, leaning against the wall, cradling her stomach, but she did look a little sad. She was left to raise a child by herself and her husband was dead. She was still reeling from his death, which didn't exactly help with her moodiness. She would be angry one minute and sad the next.

Shiki and Aiji stood on the opposite side of Caine from Ashley, giving her room. After a moment of silence, Caine heard her release a sigh. He glanced at her, only to see a sad expression upon her face. Hesitantly,he lifted his hand over her head and have her a gentle pat. Being the caring older brother he was, he often did this to calm or cheer up Cylin, though he wasn't sure if it work on her. He just felt awkward around a sad woman.

When he touched her, she was startled. If there was anything she didn't like, especially while she was pregnant, it was people touch her. However, she didn't fret over it because Caine wasn't intentionally trying to bother her. "Oh, sorry, kinda...drifted into my own thoughts." She was still holding her stomach, but it was to calm her daughter down, as the kicking got too frequent and was starting to agitate her. 'At least he didn't touch the belly...' she thought. That would have been much more awkward, at least in Ashley's own opinion. Before she left, she decided that she was going to buy a Wolf Pup and a Kitten.

Caine released a grunt in reply to her as his eyes drifted elsewhere. Shiki, who was at Caine's elbow when he sat, moved Caine's arm with his nose, urging for the next from before. Eventually, Aiji joined in by nudging his nose against Caine's stomach. In reply to their increasingly annoying actions, Caine unfolded the packaged meat and laid it on the ground. The two animals quickly fed upon it, Shiki attempting to steal Aiji's portion only to result in failure.

When they finished, their mouths still clean and without blood, Shiki went back to where he previously sat while Aiji turned to Ashley, suddenly interested in her large stomach. Though he meant no harm, Aiji couldn't help but sniff around where her hands were.

When Ashley felt Aiji sniffing her hands, it started making her feel awkward. Was it because he sensed the life inside of her? Maybe he wanted attention? Ashley was in fact, used to animals trying to get her attention, especially if she was relaxing outside on a nice day. There was something about her that most animals seemed to be attracted to. Whenever she is around animals such as rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, foxes and other animals, some of them would try to get her attention by head bunting her, especially foxes and wolves, even the full-grown adults that were predators and can be a danger to her. Because she lived very close to a forest, seeing critters and other animals was usually common. Assuming that he wanted attention, she bent over slightly so she could reach down to pet him, particularly using her fingers to gently scratch behind his ears.

Aiji was the type of pet that had one life-long master. In his head, the only master he saw was Cylin. After all, she had saved him when he was only a pup. His Loyalty towards Cylin was unshakeable, unbreakable, and eternal. So when Ashley reached to pet him, he wasn't sure if that would count as betraying Cylin. As a result, he took a step back. However, her fingers still manage to reach behind his ears.

In a moment of confusion and a moment after Ashley touching him, he bared his long fangs at the woman, letting out a somewhat low growl. Instead of acting upon Aiji's action, Caine simply stared down at the fox with a surprised expression on his face. It was his first time seeing Aiji like this, even after being together for so long.

Thinking she hit a sensitive spot, she quickly backed off when Aiji started growling. For Ashley, an animal acting like that was new. It is not often Ashley encounters aggressive animals. Last time she encountered a predator was the wolf that killed her husband, whom she ended up killing shortly after. Perhaps Aiji needed time to warm up to her? Her attention soon returned to her stomach, because she felt kicking after Aiji started growling at her. Did her baby sense a threat towards her Mother? 'God my little girl is really active...' she thought, clasping her hands underneath her stomach once more.

"Aiji," Caine called simply in a low voice, this being the first time talking in front of this woman. Aiji, in reply, backed away before moving back to Shiki's side. By nature, Shiki and Aiji were aggressive animals who's only goal was to survive. But after meeting Cylin and Caine, protecting and pleasing them became their goal. Caine stared down at the woman's stomach. For some reason, she kept holding it, as if it hurt, but he chose to stay silent.

When Ashley noticed that Caine was staring down at her stomach, it started making her feel awkward. However, it could have been the other way around as well; she was making him feel awkward, as his sister left to take care of something and left him to watch over her. When she tried playing with Aiji, the Fox responded in a fairly harsh matter. At he didn't bite her or anything. After a while, Ashley got a little tired of standing, as her ankles started hurting. Because she was leaning against a wall, she didn't worry too much about her back. Finally, the kicking came to a slow stop, much to her own relief, because it was starting to get annoying. She could only hope her daughter wouldn't be active when she goes to sleep, otherwise she'd stay up all night and end up sleeping in during the day, which she wouldn't like. Suddenly, a few vivid thoughts crossed her mind.

Caine, feeling unsure of what to do, shifted around. Surely it was tough on a pregnant woman to constantly walk and stand, but there wasn't possibly anything he could do. Just then, Cylin walked out of the store with a book in her arms. She gave them an odd look and said, "You know, there's a cafe just over there, " pointing to the small Cafe a little further down the road. Caine merely shrugged in reply.

When Ashley looked over to where Cylin was pointing at and saw the café, she felt relieved because now she had an opportunity to rest, having been standing since her walk from Matral. She was happy to be in their company, because it was much better then being alone all the way Wernod. At least she got to have a little time for herself, because she was intending on being a full-time mother, not to mention a pet owner as well. Her future cat might be a cuddle monster because she will more then likely smother it. As for the Pup, too much love. "By the way, your...Fox growled at me when I tried petting him." She said concerned.

Just as she began to walk, Cylin look at Ashley, her expression clearly showing that she was shocked. She's never heard of Aiji growling at anyone, but then again, no one had ever tried to touch him, since he was a large as Shiki. Not even Caine, who was good with large animals, touched Aiji. "Err.... well.... I'm actually the only person to touch Aiji. It may be that he was uncomfortable with you touching him or something. I'm sure he didn't mean to harm you or anything like that."

Diosishka was about ready to close up shop, even earlier than he usually would. He had already had three customers enter, and one of them had purchased one of his stories. His mind kept on drifting to thoughts of his last customer... who was she? On the surface she was just a regular human, likely from Dimtorlix as well. But somehow, Ish felt that she was the difference that he predicted would show up today, perhaps a major difference.

He gathered up his belongings in a wooden box, and with them in one arm, kicked away the door, not even bothering to lock the store. The street where hundreds had gathered before was now nearly empty. Most were heading home, trying to avoid the dark, even though it was about two hours before the sun set. Ish stumbled several times as he walked along the empty road, but managed to pull himself up and continue homeward. But after turning at the street's corner, he bumped into someone and dropped his crate of items.

"Sorry!" He apologized, then began picking up everything. After standing up, however, he realized he had no clue where he was.
