Escapists (1x1) [Telios & Azimuth]

[Telios]

"A-Almost d-died...? How...?" Tupus asked before nodding as answer to Michelle's question.

 

[azimuth]

"Andrew, that's your department. I'll be back in a moment." Michelle called to him across the room. Andrew made his way over. "you were injected with a synthetic virus, probably back in your lab. Your mother is worried sick... But she isn't actually sick. Don't worry about it. I'll let her know you're awake. Then, when you feel better, you can come talk to her over the intercom. She can't come here, nor can you leave until it is known this virus isn't airborne."

 

[Telios]

Tupus nodded sadly, leaning back against his pillow. "I'm just a mess..." He mumbled before sighing heavily, his ears pressed onto his head.

 

[azimuth]

"... You'll be fine." he said, then walked away. Michelle returned with a couple of pain killers pills and a bottle of water. "here ya go." she said, placing them on the bedside.

 

[Telios]

"Can I have some time alone, please?" Tupus laid down and said sadly.

 

[azimuth]

"well, yes. But we won't be to far, and we'll be keeping a close eye on you. Just in case the virus kicks back up."

 

[Telios]

Tupus nodded and curled up on the bed. He was still in pain but he didn't care, thinking that he was just a burden.

 

[azimuth]

Andrew would switch on the intercom to Lyra and their bunk. There would be a rush of static at Lyra's end. "Lyra? You there?" he asked.

 

[Telios]

"I-I'm h-here..." Lyra answered, sniffling as she tried to stop crying.

 

[azimuth]

"he's recovering fast. And no symptoms appearing in Nathan, yet. A couple more hours and we can end quarantine and you can come see him."

 

[Telios]

"T-Thank y-you..." Lyra said, her voice still shaking in fear.

 

[azimuth]

"don't worry. I'm sure he'll be fine. I'll talk to you later." Julie hugged peppa tightly. She too was in tears, and peppa knew it was no time for playing.

 

[Telios]

Tupus meanwhile was still curled up, hasn't taken his painkillers. Nathan didn't show any signs of the virus either.

 

[azimuth]

The couple of hours pass. Andrew approaches Tupus. "you are free to go. Both of you. Michelle, let everyone know quarantine is lifted." Michelle nodded and did so.

 

[Telios]

Tupus slowly got up, wincing from the pain but Nathan and Lyra came to him immediately once the quarantine is lifted.

 

[azimuth]

Andrew would aid Tupus, noting his slight struggle to stand. Julie and peppa followed Lyra when she left the bunk.

 

[Telios]

Tupus felt dizzy when he stood up but he luckily didn't fall over. Nathan and Lyra helped him to stand.

 

[azimuth]

The women left, her work being done. Michelle packed the life support bank away and disposed of the needle. "first casualty in weeks. I like this job." she said with a smile. She came over to the family. "are you sure you don't want to stay for a while longer? You're still clearly a bit shaky." she offered.

 

[Telios]

"I'll be fine... Don't worry..." Tupus answered, although clearly still in pain.

 

[azimuth]

Michelle spied the uneaten pain killer. Still in their foil. She took them, and the bottle, and gave them to Nathan. "make him take these. I can tell he's hurting. And taking a syringe to the heart wouldn't help."

 

[Telios]

Nathan nodded and helped Tupus to walk back to their bunk with Lyra, Julie and Peppa.

 

[azimuth]

Most of the day will have past. Clocks that also display the day/night cycle would be three quarters through the day cycle. So, all the night people and owls would be sleeping, not at all fussed by the event.

 

[Telios]

Tupus went to his room and rested. Nathan went to get some food for the family while Lyra looked after her son.

 

[azimuth]

An hour later, Emily comes and knocks on their door.

 

[Telios]

Nathan came and opened the door. "Emily?"
