Escapists (1x1) [Telios & Azimuth]

That morning, Maggs would come running down the halls. "HAHAHHH I DID IT! I FINALLY FRICKEN DID IT!!!" She called happily.

Nathan and Lyra groaned at someone shouting as they ran down the halls. Their sensitive ears didn't help much with them trying to sleep. However, strangely enough, Tupus didn't even budge.

Neither did Julie or peppa. they didn't even make it to the bedroom when they collapses in the living room. So many other came out of their bunks to see what the fuss was about. Emily was among them. She held a frying pan... "Maggs! You're disturbing the peace again!" she warned, her hair a mess. Maggs suddenly realised this. "oh... Sorry everyone!" she said.

"yes. Really. I just teleported am apple halfway across the planet and back." Maggs said, glaring at Nathan.

"meh. I fixed that fifteen minutes after I got to my bunk." she bounced on the spot, exitedly. "ooohh I'm so happy I fixed that teleporter." she said. "I wanna send a person, now. Or a few. Yes. A few." before anything else could be said, Maggs ran off.

Nathan shook his head and sighed, going back inside. He went to Tupus's room to chck. Tupus didn't look so well... Nathan shook Tupus and tried to wake him up but he didn't respond. Nathan started to panic and brought Tupus to the clinic.

Michelle, who worked in the clinic, which was fit to live in for the staff because it was so empty, would have been walking through the double doors to the main clinic area. She dismissed the other pure blooded human from duty and he left.

It took Michelle a few moment to register that there was a patient. But when it did, she jumped to attention. "what's wrong with him?" she asked as she led Nathan to one of the beds.

"I don't know..." Nathan said, clearlly worried. Tupus was breathing weakly, his pulse weak. His skin was clearly pale.

"okay, just lay him on the bed and I'll try and figure out what this is." she said presumably after Nathan complied, Michelle began to check tupus' vitals and such.

Nathan nodded and laid Tupus down onto the bed. Tupus' vitals were dropping dangerously, his organs starting to shut down.

Michelle swore and bolted to a button on the wall marked "backup". She then ran out of the room to a storeroom, to return with a bank of life support devices. She rushed it to Tupus' bedside and began to connect it. A man and a women burst in the double doors. Both jumped right into action. "patient condition?" the male asked. "bad, and getting worse. Organs failing, fast. Cause unknown." responded Michelle. The women went to Nathan and rushed him from the clinic. "I know you probably want to stay, but it would not help us if you did. Wait outside and tell me when you noticed something was wrong with him."

Nathan nodded and went outside with a heavy sigh. Tupus only reunited with them just yesterday...

Tupus' condition was still worsening as an artificial virus was going in his bloodstream, shutting down his organs. This could be solved temporally by injecting Zanitin into him, but if he isn't injected with some in a few minutes, he'll die.

The man suddenly called back to the women. "no! Lock down and quarantine! Get me some Zanitin in a syringe!" Michelle complied, and the women now kept Nathan from leaving. Though she took him to a separate area. Michelle returned with the needle. "pull his shirt up. This is going straight in the heart. Too far gone otherwise." Michelle again, complied. The man plunged the syringe into Tupus' chest.

Tupus winced as the needle pushed into him. The virus eased down and he started recovering. The virus isn't infectious in any way, it was only injected into Tupus to keep him from escaping.

Tupus was left on life support anyway, and once it was noticeable that he was recovering, and other monitoring devices were hooked up to him, life support was removed, but kept bedside. And quarantine was established facility wide. No one was to even open the door of wherever they were, to stop the spread of anything airborne. No one was to go to the surface, either.

Lyra stayed in her bunk, sobbing. Nathan was staying at the place he was taken to, depressed. Tupus woke up a while later with a loud groan.

Of coarse, there would be an intercom system for such events. Lyra would have been notified of what had happened. Michelle heard Tupus groan and rushed to his side. "how do you feel?" she asked.

"that's understandable. You... Almost died." MICHELLE explained. "but don't worry. You've improved greatly. Andrew, that guy there..." Michelle pointed to the man. "thankfully knew what to do... Do you need any pain killers?"
