"Oh! Umm...yeah. I'm Luna. And being in there would be great, actually. Ivan, right? I mean, that's your name?" She had often watched the other students, but had rarely spoken to them. Ivan seemed okay though...
After a bit of... running, one could call it, Kuroha managed find just the person he'd need about now. Coming from behind Ivan, Kuroha slid past him while crouched, casually stopping himself by silently swinging around behind Luna. A few people came rushing through, quite clearly looking for him. They looked around, albeit unable to see Kuroha thanks to his being a bit above everybody's heads, quite literally by floating up there where none would really see him. When the students all went running elsewhere to find him, Kuroha dropped down after giving a quick check to make sure none of those students were left. "Damn..." Kuroha said, quite worn out by this game of chase the suspicious cloaked man. "Ivan, I think I'll be needing help hiding... I've got about half the school chasing after me now, thinking I'm some sort of suspicious individual because of the way I was forced to ditch a certain psycho... Oh, that reminds me... Mikeru's probably after me too..." Kuroha said, clearly not enjoying his first moments out of bed, and clearly still a little sick albeit not enough to be of worry.
Liz, curious by the stranger within the bush, followed after him hastily. She arrived at the room Kuroha was in shortly after him. Liz spotted him hiding near Ivan and walked over nervously. "H-hey..." She said after listening to what Kuroha said.
Ivan opened the door and was about to respond when Kuroha made his appearance. "You could have tried your dorm. That tends to alleviate suspicion. For now I'm going in here." He opened the door and gestured for the other two to enterer the far less crowded room. "And I suppose he just answered your question. Yes, I am Ivan. Leader of the Water House and finalist in last years BoC."
The girl hummed softly stuffing in face with food in attempt to avoid the question. She would hate the fact that she gave away the president identity. He would probably hate her forever and she really didn't want that to happen. Not when she practically idolized him. He was almost as good as her brother. "Ah brother~", she cooed out loud, looking over at Kaia only to see her eyebrow raised.
"GYAH! I SWEAR IT WAS NO ONE." She waved frantically, standing up. Upon doing so she knocked over the rest of her food. "Awe man!" She pouted, stomping her foot. She then looked over Kaia, giving a guilty look. "Uh, I promised not to tell?" She shrugged slightly. She then noticed that Liz had left. Po looked around, confused. "Why did she follow him?" Po asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
(ATTENTION! I have added a quick update to the rules. You must now write a minimum of three (3) sentences per post. It isn't much of a problem, but I added it to make sure it wasn't a problem period if anyone else decides to join. I will be enforcing this rule from here on out, though I will only remind you of the rule for a while to make sure you all remember. Thank you.)
Luna jumped as Kuroha hid behind her and Ivan. "Who's Mikeru?" She asked curiously. She recognized the new girl as Liz, a shy but seemingly nice plant elemantalist. "Hi," Luna offered softly.
Concentration breaking as the commotion of the school had reached Skye's ears, making the large stone she was persuading with gravity to fall back to its place in a crumbling corner of an old tower wall. Sighing she rubbed her head slightly annoyed that she had her concentration broken by such a small thing. Grasping her 'Stick she began to tap her way out of the yard, deciding she should at least do something that wouldn't take much concentration, possibly train?
No, there is already enough people there. Her thoughts clouding her mind she began to make her way to the cafeteria, perhaps she could find some company there?
"Honestly, I thought everybody'd know who Mikeru is... Then again, probably not by name most of them... Mikeru's the girl who fused her body with metal, basically the most physically durable person here thanks to that metal. Not to mention she's a psychotic girl who grew up in the same town as me and's been in love with me since before we came here," Kuroha said with a sigh. He was really not fond of that girl, quite apparent by the way he spoke about her and everything, including physical reactions to his own words. It was a pain having somebody there willing to kill him just for the sake of love, scary even.
Slipping on in the room with them, Kuroha removed his hood and sent a smirk at Luna. "Well, I should probably introduce myself now that I'm here and everything. I'm Kuroha, finalist of last year, second place two years back, and president of the student government." Kuroha said, reaching back behind his head and grabbing some of his free-flowing hair to tie it back up in that ponytail-like strand he usually had it in. "Then again, I usually don't need introduce myself these days because my face is known by all except maybe a few first-years with all I've been part of... For instance, I'm technically in charge of sign-ups for Battle of Champions, seeing as my Student Cultural Society's taking care of that part."
Kuroha reached inside the back of his cloak, grabbing his special staff and pulling it out as he kept talking. "I'll probably be thrown in charge of a bunch more on the Battle of Champions, too, just like last year... Really just behind-the-scenes stuff though, all unimportant individually and something that really anybody else could also do given it's nothing to do with the competition part." He spun the staff around in one hand, staying far enough back to keep from hitting the others. "So Ivan, since we never truly figured out who made first place in that race, how's about a little practice fight here and now?"
Liz sat down in the combat room. She sighed nervously as she saw a group enter a small room. Curiously, she moved towards the door and sat down outside it.
Po's outburst brought a lopsided smirk to Kaia's lips. It was obviously someone, but, since it seemed Po wasn't in any sort of danger by said person she let it go. She held up her plate to the other girl. "Here, you seem a lot hungrier than I am. And, you can keep your secret if it's that important."
Kaia glanced up as well at the girl's question, only having realized that Liz wasn't in the courtyard anymore. She cursed and stood. "I have no idea." She muttered, eyes flickering around as if Liz would just pop out of the bushes too. Some part of her felt worried, feeling as if it was her job to watch over the younger girl. "Should I go look for her?" She questioned, looking back to Po.
Ivan glanced at the water troughs on the walls to make sure they had water in them. The curse of being gifted with either water, plant, or metal was they were really the only three elements that didn't usually have a high enough supply. Sure he could pull moisture out of the air and things like that, but it just isn't enough. For water to really be an effective weapon there needed to be quite a bit of it. Luckily the trough was full. "Ok, sure. If your up for it, that is. And don't hold back either. Act like this is the BoC, except don't actually go in for the kill." He pulled out his trident and spun it around a bit, just for a simple warm up. He then turned towards Luna. "You have the entire room to use, so don't be shy."
(Like I said, it isn't much of a problem. I just don't want it to become one.)
Luna nodded in response to Ivan. She headed to the dummies and used her twin sais to fight some of them. After a while she recalled the cut on Kuroha and stopped fighting. "Um, Kuroha? Do you still have that cut? I could heal it if you want..." she offered.
"Cut...? Oh, are you referring to the scratch on my cheek?" Kuroha asked, a little confused. "If so, I'll be fine. It'll heal on its own." Kuroha said, getting into a fighting stance. "As for holding back, Ivan... You think I'd hold back against you? I'd have to be pretty dumb to hold back when my opponent's somebody who placed right behind me last year." Kuroha stated, ready to fight Ivan with everything he's got. He knew it'd be pretty tough a fight, so he was prepared to use a certain style for the first time ever. It was something even more powerful than that style where he makes his body go all relaxed and loose, and something nobody'd seen him do before so it should catch Ivan off guard.
"Don't worry, that won't happen again," Ivan only sort of jokingly replied. Ivan quickly spun his trident above his head and pulled some of the water from the troughs towards him, following the circular motion. When he swung down the water continued its circular path, but shot towards Kiroha like a disk. If it hit it wouldn't do much damage, so there was no pressure. His goal was to simply test the waters for now (pun intended).
(... I still have yet to interact with anyone. It's reeeaally starting to piss me off.)
After cleaning up the spilled water, Niou got up to her feet and dusted herself off. She looked around at one of the nearby clocks... hm, it was getting late. She knew for certain that the combat area would be crowded tonight, which is why she wanted to go early in the morning so she would have more room to train... but then again, it would be wise to check out the competition now. She always heard people talking about how a 3rd Year hasn't won the Battle of Champions in years, so she finally had her chance this year to break that chain. She changed her route so that she was heading for the combat rooms instead of her dorm, a small smirk on her face as she jogged towards the doors and opened them up.
Niou's eyes widened a bit at the several different people she saw practicing, and that smirk on her face morphed into a tiny, nervous frown... how? How was she supposed to beat all of this? She shook her head and snapped out of her thoughts. She couldn't lose confidence now, she had to train just like the rest of them. She started to look through the chaos to find an empty space for herself.
Skye found herself walking down the halls to the cafeteria, finding herself a lack of appetite she simply gained some coffee, knowing she could always use some caffeine. Wandering off to the halls yet again, steaming cup in hand she began to wander, 'Stick taping the floor as she hunted for some sort of entertainment to keep her attention for the time being.
Little was really needed for a water disk like that, Kuroha spinning his staff and using the bladed tips on one side to cut the water disk straight through the middle. By the time it reached Kuroha himself, it was nothing more than a few drops of water that didn't even really manage get him wet. The floor was a little wet though, as well as he did get a drop or two on his cloak and some covering his hand holding the weapon. Other than that though, it failed to really reach him. "Ivan, I know you like testing your water before drinking it, but could you please not use me as your test subject? Every time you do, it goes on the floor rather than down my throat." Kuroha joked, even putting up a tone of annoyance that was quite clearly not actually him being annoyed.
"Well, either way... Shall I try out my new little trick...?" Kuroha said, beginning spinning of his staff above his head with one hand. It started off slow, but eventually it seemed to pick up speed as it started leaving a trail of afterimages. Clearly Kuroha was up to something, though what it was would be anybody's guess. Spinning, spinning, and spinning... It just kept spinning by his hand, with no other known purpose but to spin. Watching it would probably make one quite dizzy, albeit someone who knew Kuroha very well would know making Ivan dizzy wasn't his intent with all this spinning of his staff. The spinning seemed last a long time, although it really only lasted a couple seconds as Kuroha had suddenly vanished; however, the staff was still there, spinning in the air as though still held by Kuroha.
Kuroha's staff soon found itself flying straight for Ivan, all the while Kuroha still nowhere to be seen. It was fast, that much was a certainty. In fact, spinning and moving fast enough one wouldn't notice the fact it'd become a three-sectional and thus more a tactical weapon. As it came close to Ivan, which was pretty much instantly, Kuroha threw himself up from right in front of Ivan, a kick aimed right for his chin as he seemed to ignore his own weapon within inches of hitting himself. That was little a problem though, as the staff suddenly circled around and turned sideways, rolling across the ground and right at Ivan all the while Kuroha's kick still aimed right at him.
((Yeah, Kuroha's already starting things off fiercely. As we all probably know by now, Kuroha's the type to start off with everything he's got, thus forcing everything out of his opponent as well :x ))
"NIOU, hey Niou!!" Kira called whens he finally saw the little face she was searching for in the crowd. For a change the girl had actually left her books at home and though she wasn't much for the fighting she had promised Niou that she would practice with her. To be honest she admired the girls determination to win it, and heck if she could help her do it she was going to. It be pretty funny to see the look on all the older students faces when one of the younger students won. "there you are!" Kira declared finally making her way through the students that had already piled in, battle of the champions was always a big deal.
She stopped in front of Niou with her hands on her hips, whip firmly grasped in one of them and a huge smile on her face, she was already in her training clothes..which well probably didn't get as much use as they ought to but oh well. "so are you ready...you aren't gonna beat me to bad are you?" she teased but she was being kinda serious. She nudged Niou's shoulder when she saw the nervous expression the girl was wearing "heey come on! don't let them put you off you will be fine." @AoRo
Kuroha was fat, no one could deny that. However, Ivan was used to acting with muscle memory. All he needed to know was where to hit and how to hit it and his body would act almost of its own accord. However, sometimes he didn't even need to hit. He had two attacks aimed at him and he was ready. While he couldn't see Kuroha moving towards him for a while, Ivan knew where he was. He was sure he would use a disappearing act more than once and focused on sensing water. The human body is mad mostly of water and hydromancers can sense that water to tell where someone is, even if they are blind.
Knowing two separate attacks were coming his way all he had to do was jump back. The kick came close to landing, but as his dad used to always say "Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades." Ivan then took more water and covered the ground in a layer of perfectly smooth ice. The slickness should give Kuroha some trouble, or at the very least slowly wear down his power trying to guide himself. With some of the remaining water on the walls he started launching spikes at him, freezing them as soon as they took form. Most would think Ivan had control of the battle field if nothing else, but Ivan was not that naïve.
Niou's eyes widened a tad when she heard her name being called (finally), and she looked over her shoulder at the woman with a faint smile. "Oh, hi Kira." she rubbed the back of her neck. "I didn't think you'd come... in fact I didn't think I'd find an empty space here." she laughed a little as she looked around, taking in a deep breath to ease her nerves. "What? Put me off? Nah, these guys don't look like any trouble." she tried to joke her way out of it. She pulled out her blade and looked it over briefly before looking back up at Kira. "So... how come you didn't sign up for BoC?" she asked with a small tilt of her head.
As Kuroha was kicking at Ivan, his hands were flat on the ground aside from tiny spaces between palm and ground. When the ice came, all Kuroha had do was release some pressure that he rather rapidly built up, sending Kuroha flying upwards and into a flipping motion, the staff circling around him in the same spinning direction, sort of like a yo-yo spinning alongside the hand that threw it. Breaking his spin, the staff went flying straight at Ivan once more while kuroha was quite clearly using something at this point similar to a wire to keep a constant hold on his staff. "So Ivan, ever seen somebody completely and entirely ignore physical laws?" Kuroha said, currently standing upon the ceiling of the training room. "Sure you've seen gravity-defying and teleporting, though I'd bet this'll be your first time seeing what's next." Kuroha continued to say, though clearly it wasn't going to occur until after Kuroha had his time with the yo-yo staff trick.
As for his standing upon the ceiling, he would usually be using a lot of strength to do so with his wind, though he was rather using minimal effort by putting pressure only on his feet to basically just hang there like his feet were glued there or something, so it wasn't as energy-consuming as usual, albeit restricting of movement he'd otherwise have. Kuroha was also working on a few other things at current time, though barely working on them so as to put most of his energy and focus in his current stance and use of his staff. Suddenly though, Kuroha came to a stop and just pulled in his staff, catching it as he dropped back to the ground slowly. "You know what, this isn't going to get anywhere if we stay in here," Kuroha said. "We could stay here if you want, but how about we go on over to a more open space where there's more resources for the both of us?" Kuroha said, clearly referring to the lake.
"Whaaaaat? why wouldn't i turn up. i said i would right? so ima be here geese i'm not a flake or somthin" Kira laughed and shook her head. She smiled at niro still seeing the nervousness but she decided not to comment on it, best to just let it pass. "yeah it is pretty crowded in here but i managed to get us a space..come one this way" she stated and Kira began to make her way through the crowd once more and back to the little area she had managed to snag for them. She had left a barrier around it made of lightening so anyone that tried to steal it was gonna get zapped, and not the nice way. "Me? in BoC" she scoffed "i don't think soo, i would fail miserably..im not rally the running into a fight for the sake of it kind, i mean it is cool to watch and stuff. it's just not for me" Kira explained and she waved her hand through her barrier letting it fall so the space was open once more.
"You actually got us one?" Niou was definitely happy to hear that, but as she followed and took note of the little barrier she raised an eyebrow. "I dunno, I think you'd do pretty well in it... but hey, fair enough." she shrugged a shoulder and looked around for a bit, biting her lip in excitement... she couldn't wait for the tournament. "Alright, so... how exactly will this work..." she thought aloud as she observed their area, looking over at the jug of water displayed for people to drink while they were working up a sweat. "To be honest, I looked over the rules but they seemed rather vague... I don't exactly know how much fighting can be done until it becomes too much. Like... obviously we're not killing anyone." she bit down on her lower lip as she pondered it.
