Fantasy Element Academy

Niou just gazed at Skye in complete awe, dumbfounded by her ability to read people so easily... it was actually unsettling. The girl narrowed her eyes a little but she hung her head, taking those last few words into thought... follow the steps, add your twists, and make it your own show. "... it's like a dance." she smiled a little, looking up between Skye and Luna with a new light in her eyes. "I'll keep that in mind." she smiled, pondering over the entire conversation.

Niou was good at stealth and agility, plus when it came to taking risks, she was quite the daredevil. She would be perfect for combat based on those skills alone, but she never took into account how much art actually goes into the art of battle. It's not just about repeating what you have trained upon... it's about adding your own twist to it in order to get the upper hand. "I think I understand what you're saying.." she smiled a little as she thought it over before lifting her head and turning to Luna. "You didn't answer my question... I told you what my element is. It's only fair you tell me yours."

@Kestrel @Scheani

"Oh! Right. Light. I'm a Lumanancer." To demonstrate, Luna summoned a ball of pale yellow light and held it in her hands. "Catch!" She giggled as she tossed it up into the air.

@Scheani @AoRo

Skye smiled as the tension began to abandon the air of the previous conversation, she sat calmly imagining what the ball of light would look like and giggled a bit herself. Running a hand through her hair she stretched again, taking a drink of her now lukewarm coffee, her face falling in disappointment as the cup had not held its warmth for long.

@Kestrel @AoRo

"Light, huh..." Niou eyed Luna for a brief moment as she wondered what could happen should they actually fight each other. She shook that off though... too much thinking for one night. She had to take this tournament one battle at a time; overthinking each fight would just unnerve her all the more. "Ah!" she instinctively reached her hand up to try and catch the light as if it were just a regular ball, but when she realized it would just fade through the palm of her hand she paused and lowered her hand back down. "Oh, duh." she thumped the side of her own head lightly before looking at Skye. "Something wrong?"

@Kestrel @Scheani

"Coffee cups always lie." Skye stated as though she discovered this for the first time every time she used a cup. "Long lasting heat my shoes." She growled before pausing, "Oh. That's what I forgot today. Shoes." She laughed wiggling her sock covered feet before her, the colors were rich bright and horribly mismatched.

(Off to sleep I go)

Xel frowned as he lay in his large room. He molded the lightning in his hand forming a small ball of spark. He tossed it gently into the air, hand staying up there, palm open as he watched it float above him. He narrowed his eyes slightly as he continued to stare at the floating ball of lightning. The most anyone would know about him was his reflexes and his laziness. The rest of him was more or less unknown to everyone. If he was going to do this, he'd do it seriously. He would be a dark horse-no an unknown. It would be most interesting to see the kind of reaction he could provoke from the audience. He'd continue that lazy fighting style of his for as long as he could and only reveal what he'd have to. It was time to see just how far his magic could take him. The full extent of what he could really do and BoC was the perfect stage for him to do just that. Tomorrow would be the first day of testing. He clenched his fist causing the ball of lightning to disappear in a small flash. For once, he couldn't wait.

Luna concentrated on keeping the ball of light together and it bounced off the floor. She caught it and began playing with it like it was a hacky sack, bouncing it off of her elbows, knees, feet and even her head. Finally, she got bored and let it dissipate.

@Scheani @AoRo

"... you... forgot shoes?" Niou looked down at the woman's mismatched socks, and she tilted her head a little with a bit of an amused look on her face. "That's not really essential, but I think it'd be a bit more appropriate to have them." she shook her head and glanced to Luna, smiling a tad at the ball of light she played around with. "Show off." she teased.

(Ok, I'm a bit late but here is the time skip. I'm going to move things forward to around 2 hours before the final battle in the Battle of Champions. This will be about a month later. Feel free to decide what your character did with others (with their consent of course) during the skipped time. You may have noticed the Notes tab has appeared. use this tab to write down any duels that your character had for the BoC. This is not a requirement, but is highly recommended.)

Ivan had witnessed every duel and studied his opponents tactics. There was some tough competition, but others fell into predictable patterns that could easily be undermined. He was currently reading a book in the library. He would much rather be at the lake, but most of the grounds had been cut off from student access so teachers could set up the battle field. The furthest anyone could go outside since they day before was some of the inner courtyards. In just over an hour he would need to get ready for the final battle, but he had free time to burn.

Kira had her head stuck in a book as usual, But this wasn't one of her usual tattered and ready to fall to pieces because it it had been read a million times novels. Kira stared intently at the book in her hands, her emerald green eyes squinting in concentration and that small line that formed between her brows when she was really trying to take something in making itself known. She blew out a long breath and blinked her eyes afew times to take the ache of over reading out of them. leaning back in the softly upholstered chair kira said the book down on the smoothed wooden top of the table she was sitting at. Her bones and muscles were stiff with lack of movement but it was something the girl was sued to, being an avid reader she would sit for this like hours sometimes.

After all these weeks you would think she ought to be an expert on the subject she had been so religiously reading up on, she didn't even try this hard for exams. She glanced at the title once more 'tactical maneuvers.' and she looked to the pile that was on her left on the table also, and even those were only a handful on the ones she had been reading this past month. Kira had also lost track of the bruises and minor injuries she had, had to have tended to. She didn't mind though because she had been helping Niou out with this BoC thing and had actually found herself allot more interested in it this year, it hadn't done her owns kills any harm either. It was very rare Kira practice her combat so often, but hey all their hard work had paid off cause Niou had made it..right to the finals. The girl smiled to herself at that and stretchered her arms up over her head, light borne hair tumbling off her shoulders and down her back. With a small yawn Kira glanced around the library noting a few faces she didn't normally see in here thanks the ground's restrictions.

It's been a month. A month since President went a little crazy. A month since Po has been almost afraid of him. Yet, for some odd reason she admired his ability as an aeromancer. In this past month it was filled with Seige Defense practice with her other half Kaia. She also spent that time helping the other girl practice for the upcoming Battle of Champions. While she's the second best aeromancer in the school, the battle of champions consisted of and relied heavily on combat. Which meant this competition was not for her at all.

Po stood in a courtyard outside. Not many people were out here as most were practicing in their rooms and in the combat room spending the extra minute practicing. Of course Po was going to watch. She was Kaia's number one fan and wanted the girl to do as well as possible. Po sat on the ground, weaving small little flowers between each other to create a crown for after her Princess Kaia competed. "Hmmmm.. Whoooooos gonna winnnnn." She cooed over and over again.

Resting in the windowed corner of the library Skye began to wonder where her friends had gone off to, they both had prepared quite well to attempt their shot at the BoC, she would be proud if they made it to the top 10, and impressed still if they made it without puking.

Smoothing her hand over the braille book she had found she laughed lightly at the strange context contained within the pages, who knew that there was once a hydrophobic hydromancer.

Niou took in a deep breath and looked down at the blade she held in her hand, her muscles tense as she stood in the middle of one of the inner courtyards since she preferred training outdoors. She was trying to relax but she had a whole range of emotions flowing through her mind like blood through her veins. She was nervous, excited, elated, terrified... so many feelings merged into just pure tension. She had to relax, though.

Niou took Skye's words into thought the entire time she's been in this tournament. She'd been following the opponent's steps, adding her own twists, and making it her own dance. She's practiced at it every day with Kira to the point where she's nearly changed her fighting style entirely. She'd always been the top of her combat class, but now she wasn't just repeating exactly what she's been learning... she's been adopting her own techniques. Because of that, she was proud to say she'd been admitted to the final round. Even if she didn't win, it was uncommon for a 3rd Year to even come this far. Of course she still wanted the victory, but she would still be happy having reached this point. It was memorable.

Kira's head turned whens he heard a laugh from nearby and she spied skye where she was sitting reading and she smirked. Heh she loved watching people read and seeing there reactions, it was fun and interesting to see how people acted when they though no one could see them or were watching. Kira was a strong believer in you got to know allot about someone from what they did rather than what they said. Cause lets face it, any one could make up a whole heap of rubbish.

She pushed her chair back and got to her feet hearing bones creak and crack and she smiled at the relief that filled her body when they did. She stretched out her legs at the same time the girl loosening her body up before glancing over at skye once more. "you found a funny one huh?" she asked curiously.

Skye blinked raising her head to make her eyes meet Kira's, "Only the best!" She giggled, "Its quite the comedy, Braille always did make things more straightforward than other forms of writing, or so I've heard." Pausing for a moment she grinned at Kira, "Hi, I'm Skye." She stated deciding against thrusting her arm out in a hand shake, rather setting the book on her lap held by her arms. "If you can read braille I'd suggest this one, whoever knew there was actually a hydrophobic Hydromancer?" She laughed.

@Lola Shimmer

"Is that so?" Kira asked whens he said that braille was more straight forward from of writing "well i guess you learn something new everyday" she laughed quietly a smile on her face and when the girl introduced herself she nodded her head out of habit, even if skye couldn't see it. "Im kira, nice to meet you" she stated cheerfully, she leaned up against a book shelf that was situated just in front of Skye. "I am afraid braille is one art of reading i haven't mastered just yet but hey for that book i might just have to learn. I bet his lesson where a nightmare for him, literally." she chuckled

"Only the worst I'm afraid," She mourned, "And he was such a promising one, strength, ability, he just couldn't stand to use it." Shaking her head she sighed, "Such a pity." She then smiled again, "So What are your plans Kira? Joining the BoC? Or observing?" She questioned closing the book before settling it on the windowsill beside her, her smile still igniting her face as peaceful as ever.

@Lola Shimmer

"wow..what a shame. talent to burn huh?" Kira asked shaking her head, the girl wiggled her fingers as she looked down at them. She couldn't imagine having an actual fear of her gift hmm it would be strange, She shrugged her shoulders to herself. oh well. "Joining it? ah heck no! haha the whole intentionally entering yourself for a world of pain thing is so NOT for me" she stated firmly. "observing annnnd kinda helping i suppose, i'm helping this kid Niou..i've been training with her and doing some research to help her out" she explained "How about you?"

@Scheani

"Oh I know Niou! She asked some stuff about the battle, and such, I pissed her off but I think I helped her out a bit? She gained some confidence after so I'm glad." She sighed shaking her head, "No, I tried my share of the whole tournament of torture, lets just say I think once is enough. I'd much rather give advice than receive it."

"Oh i wouldn't worry about her being mad, i think that is just Niou's way. she comes across as mad at everyone but she is pretty sweet once you get to know her, using sweet lightly of course" she pointed out "and yeah i feel you on that one, I am quite happy to sit in the stands and cheer them all on, there have been some pretty deadly injuries from that thing." Kira shuddered at that she had seen a guy's bone pop right out of the skin once, it still made her feel a little green to this day "Anyone specific you're rooting for?" she asked with a smile.

@Scheani

Shaking her head Skye smiled, "Not really, would you like to sit with me?" Pausing before rushing to compromise her previous comment, "I mean to watch the battle, I really love knowing whats really going on, but when you can only see their impressions it gets a little boring, like a pre-animation while everyone else sees something in 3D." She giggled at the thought.

Kira burst out laughing at Skyes comparison of what it was like to watch the Boc and it took her a second or two, to be able to pull herself together. "sure, sure i would love too sounds good and you sound like you would be pretty good entertainment if the battle disappoints" she ran her hand through her hair feeling more than one knot in it. Eugh she ought to get into the habit of brushing it more. "hmm so how bout i meet you here before the BoC starts tomorrow..i gotta run and find Niou right now, get some last minute practice in"

"Sounds great, I'll see you tomorrow!" Skye smiled, glad to have seemed to have made another friend, before turning back to the book, opening it to a page she continued to read head turned so she was staring out the window as her fingers danced across the page.
