Body: Armored Officer's Trenchcoat-medium protection, major charisma bonus, passive rune engraved that reduces all debuffs and effects by three fourths duration from body hits.

Legs: Baggy Officer's Trousers-medium to low protection, slight charisma bonus, medium agility bonus, passive rune engraved that reduces all debuffs and effects by three fourths duration from leg hits.

Hands: Gentleman's Fencing Gloves(phantasm)-high protection, decreases all cooldowns of weapon skills by half, in one on one fights it greatly increases resistances to underhanded tactics such as poison and dark related magic."Fight me with honor and pride or lose. I will show no mercy to those who have neither."

Boots: Boots of the Flash(phantasm)-Low armor, great agility boost, gives wearer the <<quick step>> ability, allowing them to seemingly flash around. Has a 2 second cooldown between each flash, tripled in combat. Maximum length traveled is ten meters. "Strike swift as lightning and they shall never retaliate."

Weapons:

Main hand(left handed):Rapier of the Flash(phantasm)-High damage, high attack speed(2 attacks per second maximum), medium lightning damage. "Strike swift as lightning and they shall never retaliate."

Secondary hand: Hand of the Etcher-He tinkered with his right glove to make it able to draw runes anywhere, even in combat. It automatically uses materials in his bag and the knowledge he possesses of runes to make a rune to his specification.

Accesory: Dazaneg's magic bag-holds things.(inventory basically)

Personality: Show no quarter! Rahl is quick to jump in the fray, especially if a friend is in danger, but he always thinks of a plan. His fighting style mostly relies on effects from his runes and untouchable speed. He specializes in catching the enemy off-guard by turning the very terrain against them. He gets a little psychotic in challenging fights and his rune experimentation, but is otherwise normally collected and friendly. He often works solo or in small groups to complete the objective, and is oft given the more shady work when an assassin and/or a tracker is not available. He is trusted by most members of the guild, but his aura makes people a little uneasy on the first meeting.

Background: Thomas was an american boy with a large Scottish and Irish heritage before his family moved to Japan. He had a lot of issues, not being born in Japan, and this made him retreat to the world of fiction. One of his few friends, Tenshi, recommended Elder Tale six months before the apocalypse. Rahl, his in game name he honestly prefers over his own, continuously searches for his friend with only the knowledge that he is out there, somewhere.

I will start the story sooner or later, I still have to get caught up in the anime, but we will start out similarly to the 1st episode where everyone will log in and find out they are stuck inside the game, after that though, our characters will have to learn how to fight without the action command (Like they do in the anime) We will then set a guild (In which I am the Guild Master) The Guild will be called "Raging Persona" or "Persona Quest" (Kudos to @RageFace ) And thus our own adventures as a Guild shall begin.

  • Hands: Alchemist's Gloves. (provides a bonus to alchemy skill)
  • Feet: Windwalker's Shoes. (provides bonus in movement speed)
  • Weapon: Endless Azure. A legendary staff that is said to have split a waterfall in two. This staff will let the user bend water to their will. (Phansasm-level. provides increased casting speed and damage to water-based spells)


Personality: Mairi is playful, caring, and a bit mischievous. She likes flaunting herself around to put people off-balance. She hates it when people get too serious and teases them to lighten the mood. She also tries to get others to do something she doesn't want to do, but she'll feel guilty if someone gets hurt because of it.


Background: Haruka was part of a "geek group" in college. They would meet to play games such as TCGs, RPGs, and MMOs. The game that they played the most was Elder Tale, which they continued to play after college. They went on several raids together and joined the same guild. After the Apocalypse--as they called it-- she collaborated with her guild to discover new things about the world.

Personality: Calm and relaxed, Talia is the cool older sister of the group. She's friendly and genuinely cares for those close to her in the game even though she only knows them as their in-game persona. She's very protective of the young gamers in her circle of friends and almost acts motherly around them. She tends to be lighthearted and has her humorous moments, but she's ready to take things seriously when she draws her swords. She's a strong female that doesn't like being objectified or being thought of as an inferior gamer due to being female.


Background: Real name Veronica Winters, age 24. She was born into a semi-wealthy British family. Her parents wanted to teach her about other cultures, so they hired a tutor to teach her Japanese and they moved to Japan when Veronica was in her teens. She spent her young adult years studying at a Japanese college and got into the game Elder Tale after a Japanese friend showed her the game.


When she wasn't studying to be a school teacher, she'd be playing Elder Tale. As she tried to understand the game during the first week she played the game, she met a male gamer going by Vincent Wolfe, he showed her the ropes. After playing the game together for a couple years they became an in-game couple. Veronica was excited for the new update and installed it; she couldn't wait to see what she could explore with her RP husband. What happened after logging in was more than expected.

  • Head - Day of Judgement: Those of highest skill and those of greatest valor, I dub thee knight of the realm. Gives a bonus to healing yourself when you inflict damage to a opponent/creature.


  • Body - Armageddon Armour : Said to be only worn by brave warriors being led by the Vatican Hunter known as Hellsing. Phantasmal full-body armour of Black Draconis steel. Significantly raises strength, stamina and give a bonus to healing when inflicting damage on a opponent/creature, reduces damage from Giant and undead. (Bonus to stats for the full armour set)
  • Weapon - Dracul Blade Phantasm weapon earned doing a Legion raid on Australian Severs called "Blood Red Sand." Very high damage and has HP absorption properties when inflicting damage, gain %10 heal for every attack inflicted on a opponent/creature. Item Drop by defeating Vampire Lord, (Flavour Text) Used by the Vampire Lord, they say that this sword was infused with the dark lords thirst. This was created by the vampire lord to reign Dominion over his dark subjects. Legend has it who ever wields this blade will be hunted to the ends of the Earth by the vampires who wish to retrieve their kingmaker.
  • Accessory - Second Rage: Stone bangle that cancels cooldown of Berserker skills and allows its reuse. Prolongs death by 10 seconds by sending wearer into a state of frenzy. Also referred to as 'Rage Again'.


Personality: Enjoys long walks down dungeons where monsters are abundant, he challenges himself to see what he can achieve without the help of others, is willing to try anything once. Enjoys creating new swords and compares them with other items on the market, hoping he can one day make his own legendary sword. Calm and blazay in tough match's with thrill in his eyes, enjoys the company of others and prefers to do stuff with friends whilst making his own story. Tenacious with a strong fiery heart and always has a positive attitude towards most things, and relies on his instincts when they act. Is brutally honest at best, he only gets angry when foul play is involved and will look at both sides of an argument before making a decision.


Background: Andrew James comes from a middle - class family from Australia, his parent's did much to help support him whenever possible. He was a total Otaku (anime/manga Lover) as a young teenager playing games, getting into RPG's he felt joy that he could make his own storys, learning Japanese in middle school he would eventually stumbled upon Elder Tale and got caught up in his own imagination. As a younger adult he decided to move to Japan with his Girlfriend, and studied at a college where he made a friend Edward Griffon and one day showed him Elder Tale.


Andrew Enjoyed the RP side of things and loved the thrill of adventure he got from the game. After making a name for himself on Elder Tale he decided to help his friend with a Guild he was making and helped out whenever he could. Leading most of the raid parties and working his trade he was very excited. Always making sure everyone was alright and checking on Alistair to assist him and chat when necessary but felling the tension in the air his instincts tell him something was about to break.

Personality: Kind and carefree, Vincent comes across as a slacker when he isn't busy with raids or other activities. He enjoys the simple things in life and tends to be the first person to comment on the beauty he sees around him. He enjoys fighting monsters as much as the next RPG gamer, but that doesn't stop him from enjoying the slower, simpler aspects of the game. He has a lot of patience and enjoys the thrill of tracking monsters without being rushed.


Background: Real name Kyoya Himura, age 26. Kyoya was born and raised in Japan. He was an artsy child and grew to love films, TV shows, animation, and videogames. Shortly after Elder Tale's release it became his favorite online game. Kyoya spent his free time between studying game design by playing Elder Tale. He quickly got used to the game mechanics and met a newbie to the game going by Talia Crowe. As Vincent, Kyoya taught Talia the robes and they became a duo; they later became a RP couple years later. Kyoya eagerly awaited the newest Elder Tale update and his mind was blown after what happened.

Head: Visor of Improved Sight – Production Class Item – This item wraps around the users head with a crystal lens section in the front for the player to see through. The lens tint instantly adapts to surrounding light conditions. These provide 3 major benefits. Low-light/Night Vision, improved accuracy (improving chance for a critical strike), and immunity from being blinded.


** Special Note on items Appearance ** The appearance of this items resembles a uni-body styled pair of sun glasses that fit snugly on the head and look sleek. The lenses are made of a crystal with a green hue and the framing seems to be made from a lightweight and durable dark gray material.


Body: Cloak of Shadowed Tranquility – Phantasmal Class Item – Provides moderate bonus to armor and agility. Also provides a bonus to blending into the shadows. The user can slip into the shadows and travel in the shadows and exit at a different location as long as the trail of shadows goes unbroken. Maximum time the user has to travel while in shadow form each time is 10 minutes. You can use this item twice (with a small 5 minute break in-between) and then it will require a longer 2 hour cooldown before the skill fully resets. If a user only uses one of the 2 available charges, both will still be available after a 2 hour cooldown period. While travelling in the shadows, movement speed is double your maximum capable speed. User is unable to go through solid objects but can travel through cracks as long as there is shadow/darkness to create a path. The cloak seems to almost flow and wrap itself about the wearer at the same time, blending in with the shadowy areas around the user.


**Flavor Text** The wearer of this cloak can become so much like a shadow that they almost seem to slip out of an individual’s ability to target.


Hands: Dexterous Cutthroat Gloves – Production Class Item – Improves the user’s agility and provides moderate armor. Also provides a small bonus to getting a critical hit and dexterity based actions involving the hands. These are soft gray leather gloves made in a style where they do not cover the fingers allowing the user’s sense of touch and grip to be unhindered.


Legs: Traveler’s Pants – Magical Class Item – The pants are made of a soft, comfortable material that makes it easy to move. The user gains minimal armor but gains a bonus to dexterity. The pants are a lighter grayish brown color.


Feet: Cat’s Grace Boots – Artifact Class Item – These boots provide very little armor but are made of very soft and supple material, giving a bonus to moving quietly and increased movement speed. They allow user to maintain normal full movement rate while moving quietly, quadruples movement rate out of combat but only double movement rate allowed in combat. The boots are black on the outside, the inside is a light gray. Unfolded, they read just short of the knee but they are kept rolled down to the calf.


Primary Weapon: Kamuy’s Wakizashi of Luck – Artifact Class Weapon – This weapon provides an increase to the users crit rate and damage. Also improves the drop rate if wielder delivers the killing blow.


Secondary Weapon: (Left Hand) Hand of the Etcher with an embedded black obsidian shard with a sigil on it – Production Class Weapon – Gives the wearer the ability to draw runes anywhere, even in combat. It can automatically use the items contain in wearer’s immediate inventory and can call on the knowledge of the wearer to create a rune to his specification (as long as it is within the wearer’s normal ability).


Accessory 1: Dazaneg's Magic Bag – Magical Class item – Earned by completing the Level 45 quest (Get the Magic Bag). Due to personal player preference in its creation, the bag was created in a style similar to a belt pouch. The amount it can hold inside has not been altered.


Accessory 2: Red Dragon’s Blood Amulet – Artifact Class – Makes player unaffected by natural temperature changes. Gives wearer increased Resistances to Natural Elements (fire, water, lightning, earth, etc) and makes wearer immune to fire.


** This amulet appears to be made from a metal that almost seems to look like liquid fire with the runic script embedded in a circle for each of the elements found in nature with the symbol for fire made from what appears to be a bloodstone in the center. Most players who touch this amulet find it warm to the touch.






Shineko was always somewhat mischievous and curious. However, there is a deep seated inability to fully trust anyone else which makes true close friendships almost impossible for him. However, he has managed to learn how to suppress and hide these feelings of distrust so that most are unable to pick up on them. Though he is an assassin, he takes pride in his work and looks for a worthy target. Those who show enough promise may be spared or given extra time to finish maturing (growing their skills) to become a more worthy foe. To some, it almost seems like a whimsical decision how long he allows his target to live, almost like a cat playing with a mouse.


Shineko often prefers the solitude of the darkness, whether shadows or abandoned ruins or the nighttime of this world. It allows him to almost disappear and fade into the nothingness, something that he shares with his memory. For some unknown reason ever since the Apocalypse, he has been able to remember every detail of every adventure he experienced here in Elder Tale, but he hasn't been able to remember details about his life outside of this world. On the few times when he has died, instead of losing memories like some others are starting to report, he had flashes of what seemed like memories from that world but they were soon forgotten again. When others talk about things from the real world, they seem to make sense and are understood but he is just unable to remember the details of his own life. Because of this, he is missing some sense of who he really is and so he is having to build a new identity for himself here. This has left a feeling of distance and loneliness compared to many other adventurers that he has interacted with in his travels. However, skills that he may have known in the real world seem to show up and are able to be used once some deeper subconscious recalls how to do it. One example of this is how easily he was able to figure out how to tamper with the player info display screen and change some of the values being displayed. While it has had no real effect on capabilities or gameplay, it has allowed him to create a few interesting bluffs.






Since he has lost his memory of the real world, he only has knowledge of this world and its history. However, due to the depth of knowledge that he has about the game and history, it is possible that he was a part of the Beta test community and been playing ever since.






Hand of the Etcher – Discussed this with Rahl and just awaits your approval as well. Turns out there was a pair made and they are partially linked to each other. When within close enough range, they gain the ability to not only use the ingredients from their own wearer’s bags but also from the bags of its counterpart’s wearer. Other properties are exactly the same with one special caveat, the Sigil rune that has been embedded into mine was meant to change its appearance (illusion) so that it would no longer resemble its counterpart.

  • Head: Old Bowl Helmet: This helmet provides head protection, and greatly raises poison resistances. Often dismissed because of silly appearance.
  • Body: Kimono no Kitsueki: Red kimono that boosts support abilities. Alt Text says that the garments support ability becomes stronger for every drop of blood an allie sheds.
  • Feet: Zori no Tori: Type of sandals that enhances speed and reduces cooldown down.
  • Belt: Black Obi: Belt that speeds mana regeneration.
  • Weapon: Hama Yumi: This sacred longbow of phantasmal class, said to have freed the world from great demons, strongly enhances Evil Exorcism type spells and defensive barriers.
  • Weapon 2: Shikigami Arrows: Magical arrows that absorbs mana when they hit the target. Relatively cheap. Qwerty only uses this type of arrows.
  • Accessory: Dazaneg's Magic Bag: Bag capable of storing great amount of things.


Personality: Qwerty is rather sweet and kind. Being rather serious and a little of a perfectionist, she easily stresses over even the most unimportant things. She hates taking difficult decisions, and sometimes procrastines because of that. She likes to have a lot of time on her hands, and becomes easily jealous if someone bests her in an ability she sees herself as good at. She uses the Bow Shrine Maiden build.


Background: In real life, Qwerty is an university student. She discovered the game a few years ago, and has been trying to play as much as she could. unfortunately, because of her studies, she didn't have much time on her hand, which is why she isn't in a guild.


When she first made her character, she wanted it to look cute, but now that the Apocalypse has happened, she regrets it, as her character has a very different body from her real life one. Being a scribe , she can make skill scrolls, so most of her skills are at least intermediate.

Boots: Boots of the Flash(phantasm)-Low armor, great agility boost, gives wearer the <<quick step>> ability, allowing them to seemingly flash around. Weapons:


Main hand(left handed):Rapier of the Flash(phantasm)-High damage, high attack speed(2 attacks per second maximum), medium lightning damage. "Strike swift as lightning and they shall never retaliate."


Secondary hand: Hand of the Etcher-He tinkered with his right glove to make it able to draw runes anywhere, even in combat. It automatically uses materials in his bag and the knowledge he possesses of runes to make a rune to his specification.


Accesory: Dazaneg's magic bag-holds things.(inventory basically)


Personality: Show no quarter! Rahl is quick to jump in the fray, especially if a friend is in danger, but he always thinks of a plan. His fighting style mostly relies on effects from his runes and untouchable speed. He specializes in catching the enemy off-guard by turning the very terrain against them. He gets a little psychotic in challenging fights and his rune experimentation, but is otherwise normally collected and friendly. He often works solo or in small groups to complete the objective, and is oft given the more shady work when an assassin and/or a tracker is not available. He is trusted by most members of the guild, but his aura makes people a little uneasy on the first meeting.


Background: Thomas was an american boy with a large Scottish and Irish heritage before his family moved to Japan. He had a lot of issues, not being born in Japan, and this made him retreat to the world of fiction. One of his only friends, Tenshi, recommended Elder Tale six months before the apocalypse. Rahl, his in game name he honestly prefers over his own, continuously searches for his friend with only the knowledge that he is out there, somewhere.(feel free to use this in an arc) Rhal spent his early days after the apocalypse doing the dirty work for a shady guild he regrets joining, shivering at the mere thought of them when they are mentioned. The only thing he has told his current guildmates is that he joined them on the promise of info on his lost friend.(once again-feel free to use this as you please.)


If you desire, you can make your own Overskill that works and or makes sense to your character and let me know about it in the Messages, I'll confirm it there, and then I'll confirm your character, that's it!

You mean teaching?(sorry, I always get confused about those two, and if they are even the same thing.)
 
Just to make this easier, all of you can make your own Overskill ability that corresponds to your character and what they are like in the real world. Just send a message to me when you all are done with your brainstorming for an Overskill and then I'll confirm all of your characters, but as for the time we won't let the characters know about their Overskill until around the 3rd or 4th Quest.

@Alistair Would it be possible for us (especially myself) to delay creating my character's teaching creation? While I do have some concepts in mind, I find that as I play a character, I am able to further develop it and get a better feel for it's personality. And with this character who has no memory of his Real Life existence, his skill would be a development of his overall personality and connections within Elder Tale. I have a concept idea in mind, but I sometimes find that the idea I first create for a character changes drastically as I play them and so it may no longer fit the the original concept if I design the teaching now.

Good point, sure that will be totally fine, though if the person has a good understanding of their character at the point of posting the Character, I'm sure they'll know to just message me, when you do have an Overskill planned, do message me so that I know!
 
Indeed, all is well, I won't pressure you all for an Overskill until you guys are totally ready, I'm just making sure things are being set in stone before tomorrow. (The first Quest) And I need to make my character still!! AHHHH hahaha!

Hey, no need to say sorry, you're perfectly fine and I understand that sometimes things will happen that delays people as well, you just take your time and when you got the free time go ahead and reply haha!

I have an idea for my Overskill, but it will be a little while before it should even start manifesting any of the aspects of it coming about, will message you my idea for it since I think this idea should work regardless of how the character's personality itself develops since it would be more flexible
 
Ok guys I know we have been waiting a very long time but Alistair is just in a rough patch at the moment. Some personal matters he has to deal with, when it's sorted the RP will begin.


Just in case people are wondering what's going on, if you have questions or any problems just talk to me ok. I check my messages everyday.
