    ~School Courtyard~
    Vigilant Fighting Spirit || Breezy || 7:30am

The courtyard was in full bloom, the path covered in cherry blossoms, the sun just rising in the distance as its rays had started to pass over the gates. The wind blew softly allowing her hair to cascade behind her. It was a full hour earlier than she’d been planning to arrive here, but putting a good example for the students never hurt either. They’d be arriving soon for their first day of classes as bright eyed idealists, and from this day on she’d do her best to take away their rose tinted glasses without them losing that passion. From her perch at the top of the grand staircase into the main building she had an easy view of the students’ arrival. It wouldn’t be long before the more eager ones came stumbling in wanting to know it all before their day was done. Those were always her favorite types of students, and the biggest nightmare to see down their path.

    Ah there it goes.

The school bell went off as she heard the sounds of the gates opening. Impressively enough it seemed there were even more students than usual waiting before the gates. Several of her teachers flanked the sides of the courtyard, something that had become an unofficial tradition in her time here, even if a select few only showed up to shake up the students to test their mettle. She watched as the area filled up with students both new and old. The distinction was clear; the elder students were quick to group up, naturally clumping together despite still paying full attention as they waited for her to speak.

    “Students, both new and old.”

She took a step forwards as she raised her voice, ready to address the school. Around her the cherry blossoms had started to fly upwards as she walked. She raised her hand and a flurry of the petals went soaring. While the new students were still focused on the display she continued to speak.

”From this day on you are no longer merely children, but young adults in your own right. From here on out, the decisions you make are yours alone, but remember, every choice you make brings you closer or further from your goal. Each of you stepped through our gates with a purpose. I’m here to tell you that your life is no longer just your own. To be a Pro Hero is to accept the responsibility of upholding many lives, but also to trust that our lives are safe in the hands of the ones who stand beside us.”

She let the petals fall as she watched confusion pass over some of the faces before her. No doubt this message was radically different than what they were used to. Nevertheless, it was a lesson they would learn here at Shikichi. Every success was celebrated together, every failure weathered together. They would leave her halls prepared for the world ahead. Of that she was certain.

”You will not always succeed, nor will you always fail. The important lesson to take away from it all is this: whether you fail or succeed, you do so together. There will not always be an easy answer. There will come times when the trials you face that will be stronger than any one of you alone can overcome. Even Pro Heroes sometimes require a helping hand. It’s in those moments that the best of them shine, and the ones who cannot swallow their pride and lean on their brothers-and-sisters in arms, perish.”

Without moving a muscle, she commanded the fallen petals to weave around the students at high speed, close enough to give them a shock, and with all the control to make sure they remained unharmed. The students looked on, watching the display as petals spun in a whirlwind around Ichika. In all her splendor, the principal cut quite the imposing figure.

“Understand that the path will not be easy. If you are not dedicated to becoming your best self, then we here are under no obligation to help you, or allow you to remain in our program. If at any time you feel that you are unable to continue down the path of a hero, the nearby public school is always accepting. But, if you are ready to take the first steps, buckle down and prepare because here you will get as good as you give. When you leave these halls on graduation day it will be with knowledge, connections, and experience that will serve you well in any field you so choose. You will be stronger, more adaptable, and properly prepared for the business. So do your best and make sure to always keep in mind that the world owes you no favors. If you want something, you must be well-prepared to go out and claim it.”

The bell chimed again, signaling to the students that they would have a short break of time to get accustomed to the campus before their first class would begin and cause them all to scatter. She only hoped that she had impressed in their mind that they would need each other sooner rather than later. She let the petals fall in a massive pile at the side of the stairs. That was a job for the ‘janitor’ to deal with.

Fidgeting outside the gate Kanna tugged at her new uniform for the umpteenth time, she wasn't against dressing like a girl but skirts and her hobby of "bouncing" with her quirk didn't mix well and it seemed especially awkward considering she was supposed to be learning to use her quirk here. She'd been buzzing for the whole previous day and had barely slept at all overnight.

When the gates finally opened she stood still for a moment while the returning students filed past her. "Eeeeee..." Letting out a quiet squee of excitement she entered the courtyard looking around for any indication of where she should go until she saw the headmaster looking down on them from on high, glancing at the other students who also looked like newcomers for a moment she stared up at the headmaster as she began to speak. As the speech went on Kanna found herself nodding along, becoming her "best self" had been the reason she wanted to become a hero in the first place, quirks had been around for decades already but the only people really allowed to explore what they were capable of were pro-heroes.

Watching the petals swirl around the headmaster the more Kanna saw the type of person she wanted to be, someone who pushed the limits of what they were capable of and was in perfect control of their power. She also had a stupid urge to jump in the pile of fallen petals like a raked leaves in autumn but she put that aside for the moment and rapidly looked around at other nearby students while excitedly bouncing on her feet a little. "That was so awesome!"

    Eternal Youth || Takuya's CS || 7:30AM

Takuya was annoyed at the gate being closed, she wasn’t late so why wasn’t it open. The door held the emblem from the exam house, and more importantly she could see it from here. It was at seven right? She straightened out her uniform making sure that her wind didn’t ruin it, geez at this rate she should just go over the gate. She looked on to the students who were still arriving at a calm pace. Dammit she’d been played, her gran must have told her the wrong time in a ploy to make her get there early. LIES. LIES SHE SAYS. Oh well not like she cared much anyways she sat down and waited for the gates to open trying her best to not nod off.

She wasn’t asleep she swears, and naturally there was no jumping either and she will fight anyone who says otherwise. The fact that she may have been somehow in the middle despite being right next to the doors had nothing to do with that. Nothing. Eh who was she kidding she got a good nap in. She may have been a morning person but it was kind of boring waiting for half an hour outside when you were doing the best to avoid people.

She took up a spot between two groups of people hoping it did well to keep people away from her before the opening speech was done. She figured that it’d be something nice and sweet and then they’d all get to leave to suffer in class. Oh man how wrong she was. How was it already less than 15 minutes in that she felt she was getting a lecture. Ugggggggh She just wanted to go to class. Still would she get brownie points for ‘cooperation’? If that was the case sign her up all she had to do was find some excitable talkative person and sit there and listen right?

She started to scan the students, the unfortunate part of standing near all these groups was that they’re already paired off. She saw a few that were excited enough to work. From what she saw the groups tended to be upwards of four students. She could work with that if she got at least two talkative ones she could just stand there right? She saw a girl who seemed to be checking people out as well though likely for wildly different reasons considering her excitement. Yup and two more right near her, perfect. She strolled up with purpose as she pointed to each one of them before talking.

“You, you, and you. Hello I’m Takuya Takahashi. First years too?”

Masaru Hazumi
Location: Courtyard
Mood: Excited
Tags: BriiAngelic BriiAngelic
Masaru rolled up to those pearly gates just in time to watch them open. It was a miracle he'd managed to make it there at all, let alone on time. Life at the Hazumi Household was chaos, as usual. Despite his ma's insistence to the contrary, he knew she'd been silently dreading this day. Not now. Can't think about it. He needed to be sharp, now, more than ever. This was his chance after all.

In one move, he hopped off and kicked the back of his board, sending the front of it right smack into his hand. He tucked it under one arm and walked amidst the crowd of strangers, nudging a few of the stragglers aside to get closer to the front where the headmaster was giving her speech. He didn't have to like it, but he knew that she was right. Her words echoed what he'd already known: playtime was over. It was time to get serious. I'm ready, he thought as the cherry blossoms whipped around them.

When it was over, and the fanfare died down at the sound of the chiming bell, Masaru found himself shuffling along with the crowd. They were, as far as he knew, free to wander the campus and get a feel for things until it was time for their first class. Then the real work began. He'd hardly made it a few feet before he found himself staring down the barrel of an unfamiliar finger. "Me?" he asked. Bewilder, he pointed a finger at himself, unsure if this... girl? Was actually talking to him. Takuya Takahashi. Her parents must be fans of alliteration. "Masaru... Hazumi. First year." He returned the courtesy, but didn't pretend to be pleased about it. Turning, he waited for the rest of the impromptu posse to introduce themselves, determined to try and get to know them. They were his peers after all.

Tsuneo Fujiwara | Courtyard | 7:30 AM | BriiAngelic BriiAngelic IG42 IG42 Elenion Aura Elenion Aura

Using the tips of his fingers, Tsuneo gently brushed his hands across the metal gate. Looking up, he didn’t even have to shield his eyes from the morning rays of sun due to the fact that the gate was 30 feet tall. Turning his head, he noticed that the gate stretched out to the sides as well, but nowhere near as far as the height.

“What have I gotten myself into,” He muttered to himself, though he was smirking while he said it.

Turning around, he was met by a lot of people. People of different ethnicities, ages, and, what got Tsuneo the most excited, Quirks. He looked down at his palm. Ever since he got word that he had been accepted to Shikichi he had been working on getting a better understanding of his Quirk. Progress had been painfully slow at the beginning, especially in the first weeks. It didn’t matter, though. His Quirk became his obsession, and he continued to train until the very last day before the first day of school. Hell, he even went through a quick session this morning, but an hour of practice didn’t officially count as training to him. His skills and techniques were far from perfect, but he hoped...no, he knew that Shikichi would be his next step towards mastery. Here, he would be surrounded by like-minded peers and, to be honest, he couldn’t wait to begin. Just as the thought entered his head, he heard a loud, distinct bell ring, the sound originating from beyond the gate.

Finally.

The gate began to open and the students began to rush through. Tsuneo, on the other hand, was momentarily speechless as he gazed into the courtyard. He stood there briefly, in aw, before he was suddenly bumped in the shoulder by another person, a student most likely, and he was shaken back to his sense. Realizing that it was finally time to enter the school’s courtyard, he joined the mass of other students streaming through the gates and into Shikichi.

They must have good janitors here, was the only thought that occured to Tsuneo. His head whipped around so fast, trying to take everything in, that he soon began to feel a little dizzy. He shook his head before continuing, finally stopping when he noticed that the previous rush of students had began to dull. As the speech began and the crowd settled, he couldn’t help but begin to doze off slightly. He tugged at his collar, only now realizing how uncomfortable it was as it clung to his neck. At least the sun’s still barely up. He shuffled his feet and nodded occasionally to parts of the speech before he noticed that it was over. Almost immediately, the commotion of the crowd was back. People were muttering to each other, and most were looking even more excited than they were at the gate. Turning around to try to get a glimpse of the teachers by the sides of the courtyard, he was suddenly confronted by a girl with a finger pointed at him. He raised an eyebrow as she began to introduce herself.

It would be nice to have someone to talk to, He thought to himself, returning the gesture.

“Hey, I'm Tsuneo.” He purposely avoided mentioning his surname. “Yeah, first year as well.”

He turned to look at the other two that she had pointed at. They too, he noticed, were previously standing alone. “So, what brings you all to Shikichi?”

Hiromi wanted to arrive earlier, and even work up four hours early because he was so excited. That wasn't the only reason why he woke up so early, last night Hiromi decided he was going to make some of his Gram-gram's Choco anpans to share with the other students he met. Of course he would have to make them in the morning if he wanted them to be at their freshest, thus he spent his morning in a whirl of intense baking. Around the time he was at 48 Choco Anpan buns, he had less than 30 minutes before the gates would open, and he didn't even get to make the cute lil imprints yet. So in the end, he had a basket filled with fresh Choco Anpan Buns that had lil animal imprints on them, and he was now rushing to the school.
By the time the blonde made it, most of the students had already gotten inside of the courtyard. Letting out a shriek in horror, Hiromi began praying to whatever god would hear him so he wouldn't be too late when he ran past the gates. As the gods would have it, he had managed to squeeze in through the crowd just as the headmaster started her speech. Hiromi sighed in relief, reaching under the cloth fold of the basket to pull out one of the Choco buns. In his rush he forgot about eating breakfast, and now that he could finally catch a breath he could get a bite. Hiromi found himself happily munching on a duck bun as he listened to the headmaster's words, which somehow managed to get him pumped even though he wasn't really sure what she was talking about. When the petals started to whirl past them, in the rush of the moment Hiromi dropped the bun he was eating, jumping up to grab a petal in his hand.
"Souvenir!" He shouted as his fingers grasped some into his palm, but his excitement turned into horror as he realized he was coming back down and his basket was getting rustled. "Ahh, no!" Pulling the basket close to him, he cradled it as he landed right on his bum. The light pain didn't matter to him, all he cared about were the condition of his friendship buns. Another sigh of relief escaped him, seeing as the Choco Anpans were okay, just not the one he was eating. That one had fallen in battle, but at least he got some of the petals. He would hard press them later, and add it to his scrapbooking journal for memories.
With the speech done, and the students having time to mingle for a short while before classes started, Hiromi quickly brushed himself off and went on a hunt for potential friends. He had 47 animal printed Choco Anpans to give out, which meant he had 47 potential besties out there. Being more careful this time, Hiromi hugged the steaming basket, making his way around in search of other students his age.
Off in the distance he heard a girl calling out people into a little huddle. The boy's eyes widened as the sugar in him started to bubble up in anticipation.
"Excuse me," He apologized quietly as he pushed his way over to the forming huddle the girl had summoned to her. In his rush he failed to read the situation or even consider proper conversation etiquette, already he was shoving his basket into the group of first years.
"Please take this offering of friendship!" He blurted out, bowing his head slightly as he held out the treats. It was only at that moment did he realize, he literally just barged in on strangers, offering them a basket of treats. What if they were already friends? Of course they were, she called them out and they came to her into a huddle, they must be one of those fantastic friendship squads in the comics. They always had a group of friends like that in situations like these, right? They would be the ones who get in on all the action-- wait, would that make him a side character?
"oh god I am a side character . . . "He mumbled quietly, accidentally voicing his realization out loud.

Kamihito Suika
(Skip down if you don't want to hear how Kamihito's morning was like)
Suika Residence

6:45 AM

Kami had awoke to the sounds of his alarm. Alarms were one of the most efficient wake-ups. Mainly, because it blasted irritating sounds that kept on going until it had to be manually stopped. After a groan and a yawn, Kami got up and wasted no time going to the sink. He clicked the lights on, unleashing a ‘devastating’ light onto his poor eyes. While his eyes adjusted to the new light he opened the drawer to get his toothpaste. Grabbing his toothbrush from the cup, he applied the tooth paste onto it before he put it away. While he was brushing his teeth, he went over to his phone in order to stop it from blasting cacophony. Going back to the sink, grabbing the cup and filling it with water, he started to rinse his teeth.

After spitting out all of the water from his mouth, he went inside his closet to change into his uniform. It was… nice? He didn’t really care about appearances so much, but at least if fitted him perfectly. Exiting out of his closet, he went over to grab his phone and head downstairs.

“Mother! Are you here!”

Silence answered Kamihito as he arrived at the bottom of the stairs. It seemed like she had already left to do something, most likely involving the baby that had been maturing in her stomach. Father was already at work at this time.

Seeing that he had to spend more time at home, he quickly went over to the kitchen. He began to retrieve a frying pan, and turned on the stove. While the frying pan was heating up, he grabbed the oil and looked up. To his dismay, the eggs were on the top shelf. Why did he have to be born with growth stunts? Stepping onto the soles of his feet, he grabbed the egg carton. He soon closed the fridge and went over to pour in a little bit of oil into the frying pan. Getting out the spatula, he spread out the oil a little, before cracking an egg and dumping its contents in it. While the egg was cooking, he stepped onto his soles against to reach inside the top cabinet. He needed a bowl of rice-

CRACK

Down went a bowl that he accidentally bumped into when he was reaching out for one. Mother was so not going to be please when she finds out, especially when she has a baby inside her. He could tell due how she had been during the past few months. Deciding to clean up the shards of glass later, he carefully moved out of the dangerous shards and filled up his bowl with rice. Then he rushed his way towards the frying pan, and grabbed the spatula, and removed the egg from the pan. He dropped it on top of the bowl of rice, and turned off the stove. Now it was time to clean up the mistake he had made.

Quickly grabbing a nearby broom, and dustpan and swept up the shards. He dumped the contents of the dustpan into the trash, and proceeded to hurry back to start eating his breakfast, he had already wasted enough time. Why did all of this have to happen on the first day of school? Without even giving that much time chewing, he chowed down on the food he had cooked. It only took maybe five minutes to finish the bowl? He placed the bowl in the sink, and rushed off to get the keys, and his backpack.

After retrieving his bag and the keys for his house, he pocketed the phone deep into the backpack before heading out. He locked the door, and pocketed the key deep within his backpack as well. It was time to go to school. To be more exact a Shikichi Academy. It was surprising that he received a letter of acceptance from the school. He only joined the exam on a whim, since he was curious on what it would be like to be in the exam. The exam was hard that was for sure. It was going to be interesting becoming a hero trainee, though he might drop out if it didn’t fit interest him enough.

Nearing The School Gate
7:30

As he walked towards the academy, he wondered what would his classmates be like? He never really interacted with his classmates that much during school. Would they be like the typical friendly students that flock around, or something much more than that? The answer to that would be answered later as he neared the academy. It was beautiful which reinforced the prestigious status of the academy. The academy had blooming cherry blossom trees, and the architecture was impressive. Kami wandered how much did it cost for them to build it like this.

He could already see the mass of students that crowded at the gate. Where they that excited to go inside the school? Kami envied their ability to be excited at becoming heroes. Though, it was wrong to think like that.

When he had neared the crowd the mass of students the gates had been opened, and they all funneled into the school. Kamihito followed them in suit. When he came close to the mass of students, he observed their height. Though the answer was obvious, they were all taller than him. It slightly annoying, but he'd have to get use to going to school with taller people. They all came to a stop all of a sudden, which lead to Kamihito bumping into someone in the process.

“Sorry,” He mumbled.

He didn’t know they gave him a comment back, since his attention was directed to the Headmaster’s speech. It was kind of hard to look at her since everyone in front him were taller by a significant amount. It wasn't helping that he was at the back of the entire masses of students due to arriving at the gate on time. He could see the cherry blossoms swirl around the area. If he had a guess, he would assume it would be the headmaster’s quirk, given that she was the one that was giving out the speech. Of course, it could be just a bunch of stagehands doing it, but it might as well be assumed the headmaster was doing all of this.

As he continued to listen to the headmaster’s speech, he sometimes spaced out whenever he glared at someone for accidentally tapping him due to his short stature. Then the bells rang. He felt slightly disappointed, maybe even a little angered that people ruined it for him, but it couldn’t be helped. He decided to go around the premises of the school. Kami wanted to see the cherry blossom trees the bloomed radiantly in the distance.

Saki Sorigawa
Saki was perfectly punctual in arriving for the opening ceremony. There was no way she was going to be late to anything while she was here if she could help it. Her father had gone to some lengths to get her here, and she wasn't going to waste the opportunity slacking off. Of course, even if he hadn't tried so hard to get her into Shikichi, she still would have applied herself to the best of her ability, only now there was an added sense of obligation on her shoulders. Ironically, more than a few people would probably laugh at the fact that she had potentially passed up on going to U.A. Saki did wonder many times if U.A. wouldn't have been a better experience for her, but she ultimately trusted in the wisdom of the man that had raised her. Even if U.A. was the best school in the country, it would mean going along with what her mother had planned for her, and she wasn't sure if she wanted that. Here, she was far enough away that she would likely escape her interest, and would thus develop into her own person. That was definitely something Saki preferred.

Pushing aside thoughts of her parents, Saki chose to focus on the ceremony as the bell signaled for it to begin. It seemed their headmistress was making a spectacle of her speech, and in Saki's case, the spectacle was impressing. However, more than merely the petal show, it was her words that inspired her. Saki had heard that a few schools encouraged their students to squabble for rankings in the same vein as many Pro-Heroes did. Saki was glad to hear that it seemed not to be the case here at Shikichi. Saki would much rather work together with others to be a Hero than to have to fight her way to the top. That didn't mean she wasn't going to try and be good at what she did, but she greatly appreciated the emphasis on teamwork over conflict. Maybe she would fit in well here after all.

But now came the true hard part. The part that the headmistresses' speech did not mention, nor could possibly prepare her for. The part that Saki might just find more insurmountable than the deadliest of Heroic trials. They now had free time to mix and mingle before they went to class. Everyone around her was busy bunching up and making conversation, and Saki felt the pressure to do so too. Only, she felt an overwhelming wave of butterflies churning in her stomach at the thought of it. This wasn't like the small and elite schools she had been to in the past; these were normal people. Some of them even looked truly scary to her. It was a bitter irony that with her scorpion features she almost looked more terrifying than she found any of these people to be. She was sure that at least one person had taken one look at her tail and pincers and decided to turn in the other direction. Unable to overcome her woeful lack of courage, Saki took to standing as still as a statue and waiting out the period. Perhaps it would prove mercifully short?

"I arrived too late..."

Akio mumbled to himself as new and old students flocked in front of him, listening to the principal's speech. He had arrived five minutes earlier on purpose, in order for him to roam around the school, and be among the first to enter the academy. However, others have a similar idea to him, and he was left a bit further back into the crowd, unable to see the principal as she continued on her display. What a downer. It wasn't like he really wanted to listen to the speech, but he was curious how their principal looked like. Luckily, he had a backup plan. Akio went against the flow, bumping against numerous people in the process. When he arrived at the very back, he took off his backpack and put it against the gate.

Then the ground below him swallowed him.

The dirt he was in was typical of a walking area; A bit dusty with some debris and buried rubbish around. Akio put his head out to see where the principal was, and started to swim in her general direction with a breaststroke motion. As he swam (quite literally) through the sea of people, his head and hands occasionally grazed shoes and legs when he emerged to take a breath. It resulted in some exclamation of surprises, but explaining would take longer than it was worth it, so he kept swimming. Several breaths after, Akio arrived at the first row. He went back a row and his head got a good view of the principal, and the dance of the flower petals that followed. To put it simply...

It was cool!

He would like to clap, but he needed his hands to stay afloat. The principal speech got him into thinking as well; He originally wanted to be a hero because he wanted to get a job that pays good and doesn't confine him to an office. He hadn't really thought of what being a Pro Hero really means. As the crowd started to disperse, Akio remembered something important:

He couldn't get out of the ground without help.

Technically he could, but sliding off the ground would make his clothes dirty. He looked around to the surrounding students and called two of them out at random.

"Heey! Heey! Down here! Blue hair boy, pincer thing girl!"

If they turned toward the source of the sound, they will see a head on the ground, with the occasional hands emerging.

"Can the two of you lift me up? I can't get out on my own."

Tsuneo and Masaru. Tsuneo and Masaru. Okay got it. She’d need to remember that likely. Most people take offense to their names being forgotten after all. At least in her experience. She started to rock on her heels and just before she could address Tsu’s question another boy came up to them. She turned to look at him only to see Anpan??? Yeah no this one could hang out with her forever. She stopped rocking and went strolling up to the boy glading swiping and munching on one of the offered sweets.

“Hello side character. I’m Takuya. These are good. Hi Masa, Hi Tsu.”

She continued to munch on the bread between the talking she was doing ignoring the fact that it may be considered bad manners. After all either they got used to it or didn’t. Either way it wasn’t like she particularly cared what they thought about her eating habits.

“I’m here to outdo my grandfather. I guess. What about you Masa?”

Catching the eye of a nearby girl Kanna was a little surprised when the stranger abruptly pointed to her and a couple of boys nearby before swiftly introducing herself as a fellow first year. Deciding to roll with it she let the boys introduce themselves first before speaking up, noticing that Tsuneo had left out his family name she briefly thought about doing the same since people who knew who her mother was tended to get a little intimidated by association but she quickly discarded the idea. "Kanna Fujibashi, nice to meet you all!" The slightly formal wording of the introduction was dampened by her wide smile and the peace sign she threw up.

She was about to answer Tsuneo's question when another boy appeared in the middle of their impromptu conversation circle offering up a basket full of buns. "Oooh the best kind of bribery." Quickly grabbing one she took a huge bite and unlike Takuya she waited until her mouth wasn't full to speak again. "If you are a side character then you're the kind that's always doing their job dutifully while the main cast are having their silly drama." Taking another bite she returned to the initial question. "I want to find out just how much I can do with my quirk, it seemed like a waste not to."

Kamihito Suika

7:30 AM

Kamihito was nearing a cherry blossom tree, that he wanted to observe badly, until he heard a voice call out to him from behind. He immediately swerved around and saw the emerged head that was on the ground. If he was taller he probably wouldn’t notice it immediately. But that wasn’t important right now. What was more concerning was that there was a head, and hands that popped up and down, in the ground. There no words to express his disappointment for the boy, who was deep underground. If he had to guess, he’d presume the boy probably used his quirk, but he needed help with it. He wondered if anybody reacted badly to the head that was just 'on' the ground.

“I guess that’s karma for using your quirk without a license.” Kamihito said to himself, as he walked towards the sunken boy.

He offered no hand to help him lift him up, instead he opted to verbally attack him before doing so.

“So, why’d you use your quirk? I’d expect one of the teachers here to spot it given their experience.”

Taking a quick look at the other person who was called over, he noticed that the girl who was also called had pincers. How the hell was she going to help him pick this guy up? Granted, he could assume that she was able to pick up at least pick up a spoon, unless she had a person, with hands, to help feed her. Or, she could just wrap her tail around the guy's neck and bring him up, but that would be rather counter productive since it'd choke the life out of the sunken boy. Oh well, at least it would be worth seeing the guy in pain once she closes her pincers on those tiny hands.

“If anything, I could just assume that you were being a pervert, and looking up the skirts of many female students.” Kami said slightly louder than before. It was meant to tease the poor stuck boy, and incite the ‘anger’ of the girl, but it might as well come across as a little rude.

Regardless, he couldn’t just leave the boy in the ground, since that would be a little too rude for himself. Walking over he grabbed one of boy’s hand, but didn’t pull. He wanted to wait for ‘pincer girl’ to come over and pince the boy’s hands, so Kami could internally laugh at his suffering.

Saki Sorigawa
Saki knew who was being spoken to the moment she heard "pincer thing girl". That definitely sounded like the kindof name a Sorigawa would get. Saki was quite used to getting names like "tail girl" and "scorpion lady". She didn't mind, and was much more concerned with the person that seemed to need help. She had no idea how he had gotten like that, but if he had asked for her help, he was going to get her help.

The other one that had been asked, the "blue hair boy", seemed much less concerned with his well being. He appeared to be more interesting in interrogating him over how he had gotten into such a position. Admittedly, Saki couldn't blame him for exhibiting a healthy degree of skepticism, but it wasn't the way she would have handled the situation. Even when he loudly declared his suspicion of his motives, Saki did not grow angry. "Um, maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt?" She began, addressing the "blue hair boy". "I'm sure there's a more reasonable explanation for this than that." Even if it were true, Saki wouldn't feel personally aggrieved by someone peeping. She was wearing stockings that were far too thick and black for anyone to make anything out on, and even if they could, it would just be the black chitin that made up her "skin". She doubted anyone would find her up-skirt view titillating. It would be very unfortunate for anyone else, of course, but she was still choosing to believe the best for now.

Focusing now on the boy in the ground, she lowered her tail to his level, laying it as flatly as she could. "Um, I don't suppose you could grab hold of my tail? I would use these..." She waved her pincers. "...but they could really hurt you." If she had to, she would grip him with the pincers, but if he could grip her tail, then she could lift him up easily. There was a lot of strength in that tail, to the point she could probably lift him without any help.

Toujou Okamoto

The sun and her rays began to wash over the entrance of the school, illuminating it to the world. Toujou was in the middle of a crowd of people, not interacting with anybody and reading a book to pass the time. He heard his new peers talking and laughing before the school day began, a goal he wished to accomplish by the time he graduated. He paused at the end of a page and looked up at the crowd for a split second to see people eagerly waiting for the gates to open, an event he was waiting for to. Just as he turned the page in his book he heard the bell sound, followed by the gates opening for the students to enter. As the crowd began to flow into the courtyard Toujou could see the headmaster and some teachers lined up across from the mass of students. He put his book inside his school bag and began to look around, noticing that pretty much all of the students had formed groups of their own, which made him reflect on his own situation. While he wasn't out in the middle alone, it was fairly noticeable to those the looked that he was very clearly separated from everyone else. If there were other students who were like him his mind would calm down a little, yet it seemed that pretty much all of the students had formed pairs or groups. He began to get nervous, thinking how out of place he was and wondered if he should turn around and go home.

That's when the headmaster's speech came, one full of truth and passion like one of authority ought to give. His thoughts and worries were put aside for a moment, as he listened intently towards the words spoken by the headmaster. The cheery blossoms flying around them were so beautifully dancing in the air that his nerves were almost calmed down completely until suddenly they all moved toward the students, flowing in between the groups and individuals as the headmaster spoke. The petals movements calmed down and settled near the stairs at the entrance to the school itself. After the speech he heard the bell sound again, signifying the start of the school day. Toujou looked around again and his previous thoughts came swarming back in, meaning his nerves about the the situation rose up again. He looked up towards the school's entrance to see the staff and some students entering. He made a nervous sigh as he looked ahead, ready to take his first step.

Eh? Peeking through girls underwear? Does the boy have a tendency for suicide or something? Akio stared at Blue Haired Boy incredulously. While it might be true that he had *ahem* a nice view from below, he didn't intentionally do that. Sister already warned him not to and she could be scary when she's mad. Also, angry girls with Quirk are scary, and patience. He couldn't stay underground forever, so he would be at their mercy if he was found.

In other words, it was't worth it.

"I wanted to see the speech from the front, so I swam forward from the back. The petal dance was cool. It's like magic but real!"

Akio took hold of Blue Haired Boy's hand and Pincer Thing Girl's tail. With a heave, he was easily brought out of the ground. He stumbled as he quickly deactivated his Quirk, allowing him to step on the ground normally. Pincer Thing Girl was really strong. He almost fell to her direction when he was pulled off. As he turned to his two saviour, he suddenly realised something.

"Whoa, Blue Hair, you're short!"

Indeed. When he was underground, what stood out to him was how tall Pincer Thing Girl was. He had assumed that Blue Hair was around his height, but when he stared at him from eye level, Blue Hair was even shorter than him. No wonder he almost didn't feel his pull. Akio spied his backpack not far from where he landed, so he ran and grabbed it before returning to his two saviours.

"Thanks for saving me earlier! I'm Akio Hiraku. What's your name?"

-Nami Izawa-
The headmasters speech had impressed one distinct thought on Nami

Those petals could make for a wicked selfie

Oh sure there was some vaguely helpful stuff about getting serious and trying hard. Whatever, it wasn't like Nami would ever settle for anything less than perfection anyway. How could you give your all but be relying on other people though? That part of of the speech didn't make sense to Nami; if you really wanted something you'd never settle for being anything less than number one. How could anyone come out on top if they were sharing their victories and defeats?

More importantly though, if they had some free time before class started, than there was time to get a commemorative first aid selfie. Concentrating for a moment, Nami produced a small flash of purple fire that evaporated to reveal a small, imp like creature.

"Go get a handful of these petals, then climb up the tree behind me," she instructed it firmly, hurrying the creature on its way with a shooing gesture and the imp scurried off, grumbling. Nami didn't get that part of her powers. She created these things, they didn't last long, it wasn't like they were living beings in their own right. So why did they always have to back talk her?

Nami produced another imp, handing this one her pink smartphone. "You're gonna be on camera duty, careful with the phone" she told it, picking the creature up in one hand and pulling back to throw, using her other arm to guide it. Nami wasn't super athletic but she had decent aim and the imp was mainly going to fly with its wings, it was just faster to give it a boost. With an alarmed squeak the creature was airborne, soaring along a gentle arc to land with a small thump on the roof of a nearby building. Meanwhile the other imp had returned, petals in hand and taken up its allotted position in the tree.

"Alright start tossing them," Nami ordered as she struck a pose towards the camera holding imp, shifting her weight to the side and holding up two fingers. On cue, the imp on top of the roof starting snapping photos. This little stunt couldn't hold a candle to the headmaster's flashy display, but it would look pretty good to all of Nami's friends who had gone to different schools and hadn't seen it and she could pull it down before she added anyone here to her friendlist. After a dozen or so snaps Nami called her imps back to her so that she could reabsorb them and sort through the photos, obviously she'd only upload the best and it needed to be one with the white hairclip she was wearing clearly visible. Aki would see the photo before anyone else and Nami wanted her to know she'd kept to her promise. And if she looked amazing doing it well that was only natural.

“I know, I know, I was hoping to get a nice reaction or two.”

Kami sighed as pincer girl lended her tail towards the sunken boy. It was disappointing that his words didn’t heed to any entertaining reactions, and that the girl didn’t try to pince the sunken boy’s arm into order to pick him up. Kami really wanted to see the funny scene where the boy would yelp when getting pince by the scorpion girl's claws. What a gentle soul she was. Besides that, he didn’t really need to do anything except back up, since she basically pulled him out by herself. Now that was over with, Kami decided to speak again. It was tiring to speak with strangers, but he felt like speaking.

“Anyway, you shouldn't of done so. Even if you wanted to see the inspirational speech that the headmaster gave, that didn't mean-” Kami stopped himself when he heard the previously sunken boy’s sentence.

Whoa, Blue Hair, you’re short!

Those words echoed into Kami's head. Did… Did he just call him short? Anger slowly flared up within Kami as he started to glare at the raven haired boy. How insensitive could this boy be? People don’t just call people short, like how people don’t call people fat, unless they were blunt. Regardless, the audacity of this person to call him short was going to suffer a sweltering punishment. In silent fury, he watched the boy going back to grab his belongings. Ever so slightly, Kami planned an attack. He could punch him directly in the groin, but no man deserves that. Stomp on his foot? Could work, but that didn't wouldn't be satisfying. Then Kami finally settled on an idea.

When he came back and introduce himself, Kami could not resist the urge to do something that might as well get him into trouble.

“My name is Suika Kamihito, and DON’T CALL ME SHORT!”

At the sudden rush of anger Kami walked to the newly named person named ‘Akio’ and started to bring up his foot up. He then slammed the heel of his foot down onto Akio’s shin. He had the posture, the stance, everything in place. If anything he hoped Akio would be rubbing his shin in pain. Though he would probably get in trouble due to attacking a student. How could this day get anymore worse?

He winced. Masa, huh? A little early for pet names, isn't it? Jeesh, this girl. Before much longer Masaru started to feel it. An old, familiar, impatient itch. What were they waiting for? How much longer did they expect them to stand around socializing? Was this what they'd come for? Chit-chat, and... Baked goods!? "No thanks." He waved a dismissive hand in the face of the boy with the cookies, or cakes, or whatever it was he was peddling. Turning to Tsuneo and the others when it came his turn to answer the question, he started, "I..." and stopped. Then started again. "Whatever." He felt as a warmth snuck into his cheek... How much longer was this going to go on for?

To shove the spotlight off on someone else, he spouted off a few rambling thoughts in quick succession. "Who- Who's your gramps anyway that you gotta surpass him?" Snapping back to the one who'd first asked the question, he threw out, "And what about you, Tsu-man? You got us all blabbering, so you gotta say something, too." His tone was blasé. His 'devil-may-care' attitude, which he'd carefully cultivated since the start of middle school, was in full effect today. It was something about first impressions. Could this thing get moving already?

In the middle of his personal delight in the two girl's taking a treat from his basket, it took him a few seconds to process they were calling him side character. They know, he thought to himself, not even considering the possibility that this was because he referred to himself as such out loud instead of giving them a name. Well at least he was a likeable side character as Kanna had put it, and he could accept that. Turning to Masa as he seemed to be referred to by Takuya, he beamed a smile expecting him to take one only to be shut down.
"Ah--" Hiromi froze for a second, then glanced down at his basket then back at Masa.
Sure Takuya was enjoying it, and Kanna seemed to as well but-- everyone had to enjoy them.
During this shocking revelation, he had blanked out on the others, just standing their awkwardly. Names, he needed to keep track of names. His head darted between the three in a quick succession as he tried to engrave their appearances and their names.
Takuya was the one who ate the panda bun quickly, and was also the girl who had gathered the other three. Kanna was the pretty one who ate the floofy unicorn bun. Then there was Masa who seemed like he was a bad boy in middle school, and also didn't take his precious buns. Sadly no one seemed to have noticed the prints on the treats before eating them, but in a way it was flattering to see them eat it. Then there was Tsu(-man?), who seemed to have started a discussion with everyone and had yet to take a treat.
"My name is actually Hiromi." He squeaked as he inched closer to Tsu, subtly nudging his basket closer to him in an attempt to woo him in take one. Hiromi knew it wasn't the best timing, but it was better to get his name out there so he wouldn't literally be known as Side Character . . . even if he was one . . . Oh god, maybe he really was?

Thus began a new chapter in Hiromi's life, of trying to figure out if he was a side character in his own life.

Unlike most turning up to the academy, Sango arrived by car. Not that she was driving herself, but her dad had insisted on taking them on a road trip from Niigata to Nagoya. It had been fun at times, but her dad was a master of being obnoxious as usual. This was encapsulated by the fact that his smoky, flashy near-race car looked completely out of place among all the normal cars in the vicinity, not to mention its noisy engine was bound to rub a few people the wrong way. Katsuro was oblivious to his own obnoxiousness, and was still braying about the whole experience. "Woo! Yeah! That's what you call speed and power, baby!" That was just one of many moronic remarks he continued to make, even after they had come to a stop. It was enough to make Sango begin to step out of the car wordlessly.

"What, you're not even going to say goodbye to your dear old dad?" He spoke up as he caught sight of her leaving.

"I didn't want to be rude. Who would come between you and your real precious child?" She remarked sarcastically, patting the bonnet of the car.

"Oh come on, Sango, you know me. I love my cars, but I'm still your damn dad."

"I know. Bye." Her farewell was plainly halfassed.

"Uh, you know, it's not too late, kiddo." He started as she turned to leave. "We can always go back to Niigata and forget this whole silly dream. Daddy won't hold it against you."

"That's nice." Sango replied flatly. She knew her dad had always been partially opposed to her being a hero, if only because he probably hoped she would be a mechanic like him. Having come this far, there was no way she was going to turn away. This was something she truly wanted to do, even if part of it was just to spite the old man. Once again, she started wordlessly heading into the school.

"...okay, bye and all that." Her deflated dad sat there for a few moments before gunning his absurdly loud engine and taking off, muttering spitefully under his breath.

---

Space_Kaiser Space_Kaiser

Sango wasn't really all that interested in the headmaster or her speeches. The way she saw it, it wasn't important what the faculty thought they should all come here to do. What was important was what they all wanted to accomplish here. Sango wanted to prove herself, not make a hugging circle of friendly neighborhood pro heroes. She would co-operate if she had to, but she was never going to forget that this she was here for her own sake, not the others. Being overly reliant on other people's help was a weakness as far as she was concerned. Even if the headmaster had a point about not being too proud to ask for help, she also thought nobody should be too eager to get others to compensate for their flaws.

For all her cynical thoughts, Sango had no intention of being an isolated loner the whole time she was here. There was nothing wrong with making a friend or more during her studies. The only problem was everyone was so quick to group together it was a wonder where she would find an in. She ended up figuring the best way to do it was to let fate decide. She took a look at a few people who weren't engaged yet, silently performed 'eeny meeny miny moe' in her head, and settled on approaching the one she picked out. Without missing a beat, she boldly approached them and said, "Hey there, I'm Sango Seikyu. You?" The boy she approached looked a bit nervous. For her own sake, she hoped he wasn't too nervous to hold a conversation.

Saki Sorigawa
Saki wasn't entirely pleased to hear Kami had just said that to get a rise. There were those in the Sorigawa household that liked to provoke people with their words as part of their politicking. She was going to give him the benefit of the doubt, just as with Akio, and assume he was just looking for a quick laugh, but it wasn't a good sign. At least it turned out Akio really did have a good reason to be stuck in the ground like that, and Saki chose to take it at face value. Having successfully rescued him from the earth, it seemed he was quick to comment on Kami's appearance. Saki could see the anger on Kami's face, but she lacked the heart to say anything, hoping that he would have enough self restraint not to make an issue of it.

She couldn't have been more wrong. After Akio fetched his belongings and introduced himself, Kami decided to make no secret of his displeasure and assault his shin. Everything was going so wrong. She couldn't fully blame Kami for lashing out, but she also deeply wished he hadn't. "I-I, um, I don't think you should have...I mean, I...." Her words stammered out of her mouth, but she lacked the courage to truly admonish him. "Um, er, are you alright?" She turned her attention back to Akio. If she couldn't talk Kami down, she might at least be able to comfort Akio. "Uh, I'm, uh, Saki S-sorigawa, by the way. Just in case you wanted to know..." She blurted the last part out half out of nerves and half because she hoped she could distract him from escalating the conflict. No matter who was aggrieved by who, it was better they didn't fight.

"Ow!"

Akio held his hand against his kicked shin and raised his left leg, surprised. The kick stung! Even if it didn't cause anything serious, the pain and the suddenness of it was enough to leave him jumping on place on his right foot. He wasn't mad, though. He understood that sometimes people retaliate when he made fun of them, or say something a bit out of place or cut a sensitive topic for the individual. After the pain subdued, he turned to to Kamihito with a serious expression and made an almost 90 degrees bow.

"Forgive my impudence, Kami-sama!"

The serious air didn't last. Before long, Akio already straightened his back, giggling. The chance was too good to miss! He considered prostrating and asking for forgiveness, but he didn't want to go too far on their first interaction. Emphasize on first interaction. Doing that after they are closer sounds fun!

"Where did you learn to kick like that? That was cool! Ah, please take care of me, Sorigawa-san! You look a bit scary, but you are strong!"

It was expected for Akio to not recognise Sorigawa's name. The Sorigawa's business empire was centered in Tokyo, with little influence in Nagoya Ward. To add more of a reason, expecting Akio to know about the going-on in economy is a futile and desperate hope. He was determined to be a child for as long as he could, and remaining ignorant of the world outside of his small bubble made it increasingly easier for him to do so.

Isamu Yamazaki
The first day of school, literally. For a kid who has never gotten any real education. Coming here was something he could only imagine let alone becoming a reality, but deep down it wasn’t something he was particularly excited about. Isamu barely managed to get a school uniform and get accepted considering his life’s circumstances. While getting dressed all he thought was, This is my redemption, a once in a lifetime opportunity to change my life around. Brightening up his enthusiasm about going to school.

Isamu slowly walked to school, taking his time with each step. Listening to his music and ignoring all the other students quickly making their way to the front gate. It didn’t seem to concern him if he was missing anything, his peers just kept passing by faster and faster. Before he knew it he reached the front entrance, noticing that the students all seemed to have all their groups or mind their own business. Stacking up towards the gate and crowding the area, not the ideal place that Isamu found comfortable or wanted to be anywhere near close to.

Soon after the bell rang the gates loudly creaked open, as the headmaster came forward and gave her speech. Isamu somewhat listened, even though he knew what she was saying would surely be something important to his future. Isamu was too tired to really care about much, heading towards the side of the courtyard. Sliding his hands into his pockets and leaning against the wall. Observing the crowd full of students listen to her, he even noticed that the courtyard was full of cherry blossoms and unusually bright. A little too colorful for his taste.

After the headmaster finished up her opening speech, not much really stood out or stuck with him. Considering he listened to about half of her speech. Thinking to himself I guess this is fine for a school, then again I’ve never gone to school… Why is everyone here so happy? Where do I go? I wonder who are my classmates? Just a list of questions only he wanted to figure out for himself. Soon after the sound of the bell rang again and were allowed to explore around the campus. Isamu being the person he is decided to stay where he was and mind his own business. Just watching all the other students talk and meet one another.

Kicking Akio was rather stress relieving after hearing those awful, poisonous words that the dark hair boy spat at him. Kami silently expressed his exasperation towards himself. Taking out his anger over something petty as his height. He should of gotten use to this, since many people of called him short in the past… All of them regretted it seconds later, after Kami had hit them in very sensitive spots.

Kami hadn’t heard much of Saki’s words, since he wasn’t focusing his attention onto her. Though he did catch her name though.

“Saki Sorigawa… Sorigawa… Where have I heard that before?” Kami whispered to himself.

It sounded familiar to him, and it must've been mentioned at one point. Though, if he couldn’t remember what made it so familiar then it was irrelevant. Maybe he should ask Sorigawa later on. However, he needed to face the migraine known as Akio. Kami was feeling slightly angered again when Akio bowed towards him. This time instead of hitting Akio, he restrained himself from actually hitting the boy. It didn't help with Akio's extremely fake serious tone. He didn't seem like the type to act serious unless given circumstances in which he was required to.

“If you wanted to know, then you’d just have to join a martial arts class.”

It was true. He had been in an martial arts class that helped correct the way that he punches, kicks, and blocks. Though he only stayed in for several months, so he didn’t learn anything more than that. It didn’t exactly help that it had been a year since he last took it, so his technique were sloppy to begin with. Maybe, he should enroll back into it? Nah, he was only here on a whim. Though it was an option to consider if he decided to take this whole hero stuff seriously.

“Anyway Sorigawa, is your family influential? I’m asking this because I think I have heard of it before.”

Kami paused before adding on.

“You don’t have to respond to that question, if you don’t want to.”
