"And you know you can stop calling me Eyepatch, right Dreads?" Marie said with a giggle, feling a little better about the seemingly hopeles situation. She began to mope again when he said he had nothing new for her, slumping and beginning to pace. They had to figure out how to find information... while they had the axe it seemed like the man was no longer killing but the man still being out there meant he could start up again. She listened to him remind her for the umpteenth time that his ideas hadn't worked- or at least the ones that didn't cross school boundaries anyway. She was almost ready to try those at this point. Anything to break this axe...

She froze and you could practically see the lightbulb come on. "Have you mentioned the idea of bait before? Because that's genius... and if you have I'm sorry for not listening! But we could surely set something up! And if we catch the guy; of course we're going to have to capture him but the biggest thing is getting that psycho off the streets!" Marie said, energy perking up in excitement.

"The question is now where we should set that up... because of course Lord Death is going to think it's a fantastic idea. But we have to set it somewhere that would catch the guys attention. And not look suspicious. Perhaps we could pretend to be transporting it somewhere and let the information leak?" Marie brainstormed, going back to pacing. She eyed Curtis, appreciating that she had his help on this even if they hadn't been successful thus far. The man looked bored. Like he always did. He always seemed to be in a dark mood... but she didn't mind that so much. He was intelligent, blunt, and very straight forward and it was refreshing to be around another weapon that could work solo.

When listening to Yuuki sing, Alex was astonished by just how good she did. Not that he didn't think she was good; he knew that she was a great singer, but tonight, she was much more amazing than usual. It wasn't hard to tell that she gave it her all into the song she was singing. Heck, even Alex was tearing up a little bit when applauding her. After the clapping, and when Arya's name was called, Alex followed as well to go and congratulate her. "Seriously, Arya is right; you really did outstanding!" He replied with a large smile on his face.

Yoshiya smiled as he entered the room, taking in the whole scene. 'Yes it does seem that Ryu has done it again, although he seems to have pulled himself away. Good for him' he walked over towards kylei, standing next to her "Did he say something about Ryu's hair?" He said to her.

@yumiyukifan1

Archaius and Takono continued to walk through the dark place that was Death City. "I'm not that picky, so it doesn't really matter much to me." he said, looking over at Takono. He said that he did not care where they went as long as they ate soon. Archaius smiled at him, turning away only to look around. "Well, I'm pretty positive there's one around the block from here." he said, then laughing as Takono's stomach had rumbled, coincidentally to his statement about wanting to eat soon. A couple minutes had they arrived at said bakery, to where Archaius had walked in with the silver-haired individual. The patisserie was small, but there was a decent selection in store.

Kylei Crysten

The blonde glared at her meister before facing Ryu, who exited the gym. It was good for him to leave, but at the same time she wanted him to stay... Nose Hair-sama wasn't very pleasant. And fighting... Would be entertaining, but troublesome. Stupid strawberry driving away her friends. She sighed and turned her head back to the red headed tomato. "Jeez... Why are you such a pain in the butt sometimes?... I highly doubt you feel anything but satisfaction and accomplishment for pissing someone off. Well, it can be a little fun, but it's cruel in a way. Couldn't you be more like your golems? Silent? And not pissing off every living thing you lay your weird eyes on? It would do everyone a favor! Especially me!!!"

Man, what a gift that strawberry had... Crysten rubbed her chin with one finger when she realized someone, that wasn't Nose Hair-sama, was speaking to her. She twitched a bit, because he startled her for a second, but she tried not to jump. "Hm? Hair? Well the tomato said something about stereotypes and blondes so... I'm offended too... Tch!" The word Piss Stain came into her mind and she twitched once again.

John looked between the people in the room, going from one to the other and then finally settling on UFO, looking him up and down with a blank expression. He wondered what his soul looked like... He thought for a moment then focused hard, looking at him and getting a good glimpse of his soul. Seemed normal enough. Seemed like he really had no excuse. But, looking at him, there was just... John wasn't quite sure how to describe it. Just something about him. What was the word? He sat there staring blankly for a moment before it hit him like a bolt of lightning, "That's it. You look like a big mean c*nt." he said plainly keeping a heavy poker face before leaving the room. Yep. that is definitely what UFO looked like. He then looked at the blonde girl, "You look nice enough though." He said to her, his face not betraying any sort of emotion or higher level thought going on in his head as he left.

He walked out into the halls, opening his book. Yep. This was going to be an eventful year. He wasn't entirely sure that he liked it though. Whatever must be, must be in the end. He supposed that was all he could do. Still, it was nice to see his team mate left with a remotely level head and he didn't have to throw a book at anyone. He didn't particularly hate hitting people with a book, but it wasn't entirely something that he really enjoyed doing. He wondered to himself what the others could possibly be up to, wondering if any of them were c***s too. At least Ryu was decent enough. He thought to himself, not noticing where he was going or who he was running into.

School at the DWMA had been going on generally well for the first week this year. Zinnia had gone through the week going mostly unnoticed by everyone else, simply watching. You would think that at least one person would notice the tall, white-haired pixie cut girl with the flowing bluish trench coat, but that had been proven as a negative outcome for her. So, now that it was after school, she skirted the halls, learning even more information about her fellow students, whether they liked it or not. That was what she was good at, and had been doing ever since the first day when she had figured that she would go unnoticed by the rest of the school. That was plenty fine with Zinnia, but she was still faced with the predicament of not ye having a partner.

Zinnia, being a mere Weapon, was to practically be defined by her Meister, as all Weapons were. She absolutely hated that fact, and wished that she could just be a little more significant in such a partnership rather than a mere weapon that is simply used. Honestly not wanting to look about for such an individual brought about its own shortcomings, because Zinnia just simply did not want to deal with the idiocy that the human population usually possessed, while she was above such a pitiful standard. What she had not imagined, however, was to be bumped into some complete idiot who was not watching where he was going, his nose in a book.

Zinnia's stature in general is a thin woman with minimal figure, so she had practically lost her balance when bumped into by someone a couple inches taller, yet almost double her own weight of a mere hundred and thirteen pounds. "Pardon!" she chided, catching her balance in a decently elegant matter. "Please be mindful of where you are passing." Zinnia remarked briskly at the figure, a cold tinge laced in her words as she looked at him, an eyebrow furrowed.

@Airagog (eyyy ^w^)

John gave an oof as he collided with the woman. It seemed like his entire purpose in life was to just bump into people in the halls, nonstop, twenty four seven. He was beginnng to wonder if there was any other way that normal people were introduced, but at this given point it did not seem likely. It did seem likely that this girl was upset with him, however. He thought he should apologize, "I am sorry I was thinking about someone I just met who looked like a c*** and was wondering or worrying if the entire school was full of people like him, while hoping that isn't the case, especially considering i would likely have to interract with a large number of them in the following year. Evidently he made my partner very upset. Accept my apologies please." John said looking down at the girl reciting in such a casual voice he might as well have been reading out of a phone book despite the words he actually used. "I did not mean any harm as I am not an asshole." He offered her his hand, his face not conveying much emotion as he spoke this.

Zinnia looked at the man with her typical cold expression as he explained himself to her. He stated that he met someone who had 'looked like a c*nt', and that he had wondered if that was what the entire school was full of. She furrowed a pale eyebrow at him, listening as he droned on, also mentioning something about said 'c*nt' making his partner upset. So, he already had a partner; so why was she talking to him again? There was simply no point, she thought. What had annoyed Zinnia the most was his dead monotone voice. Did he not possess any relations to emotion, even in the slightest? Apparently not. He extended his hand out to her, that in which she hesitantly shook, soon dropping his hand hastily.

He told her that he did not mean her any harm by bumping into her, and that he was 'not an asshole'. "Primarily, I do not envision the entirety of the academy being as such a way as much a probable statistic." Zinnia pointed out in her still sharp voice. "Secondarily, I did not imagine you as such." she said to him, still confused at his lack of emotion. Was he human, or robot? Coming to the conclusion that robots being students here would be frankly impossible in addition to illogical, she quickly dismissed the thought. Either way, Zinnia had minimal opinion on his as of yet.

Yoshiya

Yoshiya laughed "
Ah well that explains it. You see, Ryu isn't naturally blond. He dyes his hair blond. His normal hair color is something of a dark crimson, but he didn't like it so he went blond. As such, he's very irritable on the subject of hair" He held back the fact that it was actually Kai who was the most irritated by remarks about blond hair. Yoshiya smiled "I myself however, am a truly natural blond. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go find where my cousin has gotten off to. Until next time miss..." He paused "Actually, I don't believe I got your name. Or gave you mine for that matter. I am Yoshiya Kiryūin, cousin to one Rȳu Haynes"

@yumiyukifan1

Rȳu

Rȳu hurried toward the entrance to the DWMA. He needed to calm down as quickly as possible, the fastest way to do that being to get as far away as possible from that detestable meister and his golem. Otherwise, he seriously risked the possibility of Kai beating someone half to death, and he didn't need an incident like that on his hands, especially so soon after his enrollment in the DWMA. Still, he felt bad for the golem. Being bound to protect an asshole like that really must be a dismal existence. It was this pity that had partially motivated Rȳu to leave. It was one thing to have Kai beat up the meister, but the golem was different. If what it was made to protect was threatened, it would have no choice but to intervene, and then Kai would have just destroyed it. That would have been a waste, and the golem wasn't bad, it was simply in service to a bad person.

As he walked down the huge flight of stairs in front of the DWMA, the voice in his head interrupted his thoughts.

'
You really can be a fuckin' bore sometimes, you know that?'

'
Oh will you please shut the hell up. You and I both know it would have been wrong to kill that golem'

'
Yeah, maybe. Still would've been fun though'

'
You don't get to beat the shit out of everyone that pisses you off. That's not how the world works'

'
Maybe for you, but for me, the world better present itself on a velvet fucking pillow. I mean, it is me we're talking about.'

'
Don't you mean us?'

'
Yeah sure, whatever makes you feel better. Anyway, I'm taking a nap now. Don't do anything stupid while I'm out'

Rȳu sighed and headed towards his apartment. This was turning out to be a long day.

((Oh dear god that ended up being much longer than I originally intended))

Upon settling his fingertips on the hilt of the katana he visibly flinched, taking a rather wide step backwards as he inspected the blade. The weapon itself had a wavelength as if it were an actual weapon. Either Kayden had a much weaker identical twin, or there was something that he hadn't told William yet. Having been so focused on the blade, most of what Kayden said after 'Try copying my form' was lost. Will was far too entranced on the sword that lay in front of him. "What is it?" He blurted out in a near-silent tone, his eyes still glued onto the sword.

@Hoki

Takono chuckled a little as well, then nodded to Archaius. "Alrighty. The closest one it is." he said with a smile. He then followed along behind the weapon. As he walked, he pulled out his bag to put the map away,since he wouldn't need it if they were going to some place so close. While Takono did this, he almost accidentally bumped into multiple different things. Finally he had stuffed it into his bag, then faced upright again and could pay attention to where he was going. He looked around at all the other shops or homes they passed along the way. When the bakery finally came into his view, he eagerly walked inside. It was a bit smaller than he expected the place to be, but that wasn't really a huge deal. He looked around inside for a moment or two, before trying to decide what he wanted to have to drink and eat. @PlaguedWithInsanity

Ah, it would appear that this took a higher priority. The raven sighed, straightening from his stance and lowering the other sword. Eyes skimmed over his actual sword before focusing one William himself.

The bewildered look almost surprised him, forgetting that while people had seen the blade, none had ever held it. "If you're talking about the sword," he started with, taking a few steps closer to the blonde, "it's a katana-"

Sarcasm wasn't his best bet, was it?

"What you are holding," Kayden corrected, "is my weapon; or, in a more technical way.." He was in front of the meister now, gesturing to his own chest. "That's half of my soul."

@Imaginative Code

Jason walked through the halls still, coming onto a classroom. People were inside it discussing something, and just behind them were desks. "Ah! Sleep, my love, my mistress! How long I've awaited your sweet embrace!" He rushed over to an empty one and sat in it, laying his head across the surface and falling asleep instantly.

UFO smiled pleasantly, and waved at the retreating figure of the male. "Indeed, you are eloquent. As in, eloquent as a cave man. Hurry up and leave. I hate wasting my time with flat and boring sheep like you. Don't let the door hit you on your way out." He observed his golems, displeased at the rate it was lifting weights. Honestly, it should go more faster than that! This golem was too slow... he might just scrap it to make it another S-type then.

Kylei's voice caught his attention again. What did she want now, jeez...? And there was another person there too.
"Yes, I do gain quite the amount of satisfaction from pissing someone off! When people are angry, they usually say the hidden thoughts they hide in their head... Ahuhuhu." He reached over and jabbed her in the forehead with his finger. "Because you are my Weapon, I will grant you a boon. When you try to make... friends–I never understood why people desire them so, useless things that they are...–I will act as what you groveling pansies will. Pandering to the empty whims of another, just for the sake of one's own self-worth. Why do humans even care about what other people say and think about them? It's all so stupid. Then again, most humans are stupid." He tossed an uninterested look at the other one, grimacing slightly. "I will begin now. You owe me favors now, by the way."

UFO made a complete 180 in the span of three seconds. His face instantly transformed, relaxing into a peaceful smile. He dropped his hostile body language into a calm and friendly pose, and ruffled Kylei's hair affectionately.
"Aw come on, I was just joking~! Sorry if I offended you. I just like ruffling your feathers, y'know? You get all loud and squeaky, like a canary!" UFO looked over at the boy–Yoshiya–and grinned. "Can you tell your... sibling? Friend? That I'm sorry? I didn't mean to hurt him on something he's sensitive about..." He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, smiling shyly.

@yumiyukifan1 @Rhodus

Archaius walked up to the counter as he looked up at the menu up above. There were a decent amount of choices to choose from. He noticed that Takono had since put away his map before they had walked in. Because he was walking in front of the masked individual, he had also not noticed that Takono had almost bumped into people as well. He thought for a moment, looking up at the menu before deciding on a chocolate croissant. "What are you going to get?" Archaius asked the other male, looking up at him standing beside him. Maybe he would also order some sort of smoothie as well? No, that would be too much on his blood sugar level. So, chocolate croissant it was. He waited, however, until Takono would answer him before he himself would order what he was going to eat.

@DarkElite020

"That's half of my soul."

Bullshit. One does not split a soul, 'fracture', perhaps. Split? No. He's lying. Will had many more questions regarding the sword but they would all have to wait, he knew he would have his answers after the spar. He rolled his shoulders forward and lightly shook his head side-to-side out of utter disbelief. The bewildered-master took three strides backwards, distancing himself from his weapon-counterpart. Two weeks of practice all came down to this.

"This is our 'free' day. Lets not spoil it with lectures on how to wield a blade. Besides, I learn much better hands on."

@Hoki

Up the sword came, Kayden giving his head a tilt that left a sort of glint in those magenta eyes. "Then you don't need to know the best way to hold it, right?" he asked, the blade tilting slightly as his body seemed to grow tense at some of the joints. "After all, you've been paying enough attention over these past two weeks."

Whatever distance William had made became useless as the raven bore down on him with startling calmness, swinging downward with the slightly heavier sword. Depending on the reaction, he would either jump into a flurry on speed-carried jabs or have to defend himself.

The "main" section of his soul gave a small quiver with the extended lack of the additional half; usually in his hold and not much of a problem, now he could take a gauge to how long he could be completely separated.

This other number didn't mean he'd let up on the assault.

@Imaginative Code

William remained silent, keeping the 'Raven's' questions unanswered. He would receive answers when he himself got answers, nor did it matter if he knew how to hold a blade. It mattered if he knew how to fight. His own intuition would lead him to victory, or so he hoped. With that the forest seemingly faded out of view and the sky seemed to dim. The chirps of birds became nothing but white noise as he concentrated on a single thought: Victory.

Then
he snapped back into reality. He was lost in his thoughts, again. Where was Kayde- His eyes answered the question for him as they intuitively locked onto the blade that was being swung. There was no time to consider options, he had to act immediately.

Broadsword. Heavier. The blade is getting closer. You have a speed and weight advantage use it!

The blonde-haired meister recklessly tried to throw Kayden off balance by using his own weight and momentum against him. William pivoted his torso to the left, swinging the katana in a counter-clockwise arc so the blade would strike the top of the broadsword while in-motion, hopefully both diverting it's path, and knocking Kayden off balance.

@Hoki

And diverting it did, clashing the sword - and wielder - back enough to give William a chance of his own to attack. What would undoubtedly come as a shock, as it usually did, was that despite being forced back there remained a calm expression on Kayden's face - unchanged by the setback.

But, if one were to take a peek in his head, they'd find a hint or two of amusement. The swing had seemed a little thoughtless in action; good, that's what he wanted. Instinct only. It had also been thoughtful in concept, which was equally a good thing as you couldn't go without any side-thought into a fight.

Rising to a more natural height, the weapon brought up his sword, holding it for a counter.

@Imaginative Code

The clattering and clashing of metal sent an all too familiar ringing through William's ears. It was a constant reminder of when he used to fence daily as a preteen. But that was long before before he switched to archery. Nevertheless, a katana was definitely not a rapier. William's breathing hastened and strained far from it's normal pace as adrenaline began to run its course, only giving him more of a reason to fight.

He hasn't grunted. He hasn't said a word. He's silent. Are those birds chirping? Did I just step on a leaf? Shut up. Shut up. Focus! An opening. He's expecting an attack. He's smarter. He's a weapon, like your sist- SHUT UP. Focus William. You. Will. Win.

Leaving no time to waste the frantic meister didn't hesitate to strike for the first opening he saw. No longer had logic compelled the meister to do anything. He was now directed purely by his instinct. If there was anything he'd learned from Kayden the past two weeks it was to react. Don't think. Don't consider. Don't waste time. React. His soul began to fluctuate as he swung the katana horizontally, aiming directly for Kayden's ribcage, obviously caring little for his own defenses, much less how Kayden would block his attack.

This won't hit. He's faster than he looks. He will block it. No. Don't doubt yourself.

R?u walked up the stairs to his apartment slowly. As he came to the door his foot bumped on something. He bent down to look at the object. It was a package addressed to him from, he squinted to look at the rain-smudged label, his father? That was what it looked like it said, but it was so distorted by water that he could only guess as to the name that was written there. 'Hopefully whoever sent this put a card or something inside so I can find out who they are.' He picked up the package and walked into his apartment.

"
Hello Mr. Haynes," A female voice greeted him as he flicked the light on. The voice belonged to Eve, an A.I. assistant given to him by his father as a birthday gift one year. Although she had originally been written by the elder Haynes, in the years since, R?u had made so many optimizations and improvements that her code had become more his than his father's.

"
Ah hello Eve. I really wish you would call me R?u though. 'Mr. Haynes' is a phrase that should only be spoken during boring meetings and stock exchanges. Anyway, did my father say anything about sending me something?"

"
Yes, Sir. He said he wanted to send you something to commemorate your enrollment in the DWMA, and that he wanted the gift to be truly meaningful"

"
Hah, the only meaningful thing he's ever given me was you. All his other gifts were just useless expensive trinkets. Did he say what the gift was?"

"
No, Sir. Only that he hoped you'd treasure it as much as he did"

"
Hm, vague as always. The more things change, the more they stay the same" He smiled and extended a tiny saw blade from his finger, using it to cut the tape on the box. He really wasn't expecting much. Most of his father's gifts to him were more formalities than anything else. A cold acknowledgement of the tradition of gift giving. As such, he was not expecting to be surprised by what was in the box. He was wrong.

As he lifted the flaps on the box, he saw that it contained a smaller wooden box, with a handwritten note.

My Dear Son,

I know I am not often there for you, and that you and I do not have the best relationship, but please believe me when I say this: I could not be more proud of you. Although I may not show it well, I do care about you. Despite our differences, I hope you care for this gift as much as I did when it was my father giving it to me. Good luck, my son, and may your studies bear fruit.

Sincerely,

Derek I Haynes

"
Well that was just as goddamn self-indulgent as is typical of him," R?u said callously after reading the note aloud.

"
Please watch your language, Sir"

"
Yes, yes, alright"

Still, as much as he wanted to write this off as another trinket given to him by his father, one line stood out from the note: "
I hope you appreciate this gift as much as I did when it was my father giving it to me." If he was right in his assumption (and he was always, always right in his assumptions) then his father was giving him an heirloom, one passed from father to son. This disconcerted R?u for two reasons. One: this was frighteningly out of character for his father, and two: his father had never mentioned any heirloom fitting these criteria before. 'What the fuck is in this box?' he thought as he removed the wooden box from its cardboard container.

hygra%20(1)%20(Small).JPG

The box was startlingly ornate. Intricate Brass panels adorned its sides, and R?u could tell that it was made of BloodWood. He could tell that the box was old, as its construction involved techniques no longer used in carpentry, but showed no signs of advanced age. A small keyhole was set in its face, and there was a small gold leafed key in a small velvet pouch at the bottom of the cardboard box.

old-key.jpg

He slid the key into the lock, took a deep breath, and turned it.

To Be Continued

((HolyShitIAmSoSorryThisWasSoLong. I keep intending to make smallish posts and end up making
enormous posts))

Eyes followed the movement, equally keeping notice of the male's expression as it changed with thought. Luckily for William, however, Kayden was more used to a katana, not the weight of the broadsword. Reaction time was fast, but movement was not; he raised the sword parallel to him, blocking the swing of the opposing blade.

At the same moment, the weapon's soul gave a minor lurch; both within the katana and the human body. He had caught the fluctuation, but had forgotten to take it into consideration for the bigger picture. Even though his expression remained unchanged, the main section of the soul felt like it sighed, swelling and deflating to "handle" the newer wavelength of the meister.

But, that was irrelevant at this point. Swords were locked for a moment, Kayden's eyes focusing on William's expression. "Keep in mind," he said then, daring enough to remove one hand from the hilt of his broadsword, "that your opponent's actions could change in an instant-"

In example - with his hand out to the side - the broadsword swung upward suddenly, clashing with the face of the katana with seemingly one goal in mind; disarming.

Yoshiya smiled at the other student "Maybe I could tell my cousin that" he put extra emphasis into the word "cousin". "However, 'You owe me a favor now, by the way'" He said, imitating UFO's voice startlingly well as he quoted him. He laughed, his smile widening. "Anyway, it was nice to meet you, even though I never did get your name. Until next time!" He said to Kylei, and started walking out of the gym.

Takono looked at the menu as well. "hm..... I think a coffee and..." He trailed off, his eyes scanning over the menu more. "and... maybe a donut" He said seeming indecisive at first, but the boy eventually nodded. He then went over to the register. He ordered a coffee and donut, then looked over to Archaius. "and what do you want Archaius?" He said, going to order the weapon's food as well. @PlaguedWithInsanity

Tori in the meantime, was at home, a rather nice house to say the least eating lunch.He sat at the table by himself, just quietly eating. He sighed contently, and soon finished up his food. Afterwards, he finished his food he washed the dishes and put them away. He then walked up to the piano in his living room, and pulled out the seat. He then sat down, deciding it had been a while since he practiced. He adjusted the music sheets, before playing.
