Dreams of the Second Age - Additional IC

L'ron looks over at Nikola. "While I wish to Awaken more of my people, you will not be allowed near our hatchlings until you have proven yourselves to be worthy of our trust. Go to Leeayta, and speak with her. She can then judge you and, if you are lucky, find you worthy."

"Luck shall have no part in this friend." Aredin says with a wave, stepping off the edge of the ship with those who would ride with him as a small translucent violet orb encompassed them and lofted them down, with Aredin pointing to a temple below, "Perhaps one of the pyramids is the best place to reach the city god, temple prayer tends to have a way with gods."

Pyter shakes his head. "Remember, the Solar Filial Wisdom controls the pyramids. Leeayta has her main temple . . . down there, I believe." Looking where he is pointing, you see a beautiful structure of marble.

"We should land some distance away and walk up; no need to advertise the presence of the airships to those that would try to take them."

"Airships? These are simple globes, fits right in the pocket. Even if they did attack us, we are six Celestial Exalted, unless they have deathknights, they have one..."

Aredin rubs at his forehead as the sphere begins to lower them toward the temple, suddenly Aredin would speak quite loudly to those within the sphere, "Well if that's how you guys want to play it...Alright you guys are going to want to hold on tight..." Aredin released commitment to the sphere, the glow surrounding it faded as the infinite replendence amulet began to expand his clothing, mostly in the cape as it's edges latched onto his arms and legs, center billowing backwards into a parachute. "Ok, we're going in for a quick drop let's make it count." Aredin finished whistling smugly to himself, the music and amulet fabricated cloth warping the air around his riders and that of Niko's should they adopt a similar strategy. The cloaks would take on the colors of the sky and the light around them would merely reveal leaves flowing in the breeze, still steering toward the top of the temple.

Nikola laughs jovially and leaps from his sphere, letting his attunement fade as well and saying, "Haha, Comrade! Just like old times!" His cloak changing in a similar manner, though hemmed in better here and there to be more sleek thanks to his knowledge of crafting, making use of the infinite range of fabrics at his disposal to spontaneously create the picture-perfect drop suit, falling with style alongside Aredin towards the temple

The Pterok Dragon Kings don't bother to try and follow the group down to ground level, but you are being watched carefully. From where you landed, you are about a mile from Leeayta's temple. Moving quickly between the buildings, it doesn't take long before you are only a hundred feet or so away from the main entrance where you can see several dozen people between you and the temple. These people are all armored and armed with a variety of weapons, but there is no uniformity to their equipment at all. In fact, most of their items look as if it were cobbled together from scraps of junk and discarded gear. They have the look of wild barbarians, wearing little more than loincloths and body paints (or perhaps just covered in blood; from here you just don't know).

As you watch them, you see several of the people go up to the walls of the temple and begin to urinate upon it, raising up a laugh from those watching them profane the holy building.

Pyter scowls. "Disrespecting a noble goddess like that? They need to be taught a lesson!"

"Agreed. We should offer their blood in sacrifice to the goddess. Old fashioned, maybe, but appropriate for this disrespect"

Araneus puts a hand on Pyter's shoulder, and shakes his head. "Calm down, old friend. Don't let anger get the better of you. I agree, however. They would make a great sacrifice to Leeayta."

"Should I perhaps take them by surprise?"

"Take a few of the Minions for support." Offered Rine. "While they can't hope to match you in the deadly arts, they should be able to provide an excellent fear factor in the ambush, which would only make the sacrifice more flavorful."

Aredin sighs in disappointment, "Man if only...Niko would you mind upgrading this ring when we get back home?"

Pyter does his best to calm himself. "You wish to take on all of them by yourself and leave us out of the fun?" He shrugs. "Ah, the hell with it. It's not like it would be much of a fight; after all, they are just mortals." He pulls a starmetal powerbow from out of one of his pockets. "I'll move over to that building there and keep a overlook for other troublemakers. Watch for my signal." With that, he stealths his way through the ruins towards the building he pointed out.

OOC We are dealing with a group of 24 mortals that have only 4 health levels each. Whatever attacks you do, keep that in mind. When you are ready, make a Join Battle roll, unless you can stunt a way to take down a whole crowd of bad guys at once.

Nikola chuckles, "OF course, Comrade! I was meaning to do so before, but, you know, dagonblooded revolt and all that. I did manage to prepare some plans for a ring that would let you leap from shadow to shadow...I think you will like it."

Aredin raises his bow quickly wrapping a bundle of sticks in his now detached cloak. Mounting them against his bow string, he would bound up a tree leaping off of it into a backflip, his 'arrows' flying straight upward and then guided perfectly to each of the mortal targets, unless they were either heroic or somehow capable of imbuing a defense with motes.

Stunting an attack as if they were a mass combat unit, enhancing with there is no wind and thunderbolt attack prana to ensure that it hits hard and without worrying about range limitations.

Araneus grins, "Give the order for them to attack on my signal. It'll be pretty obvious, I can guarantee that." He then falls back a bit, fading into the forest, seeming to meld into the shadows as his cloak almost makes the darkness fold around him. Once certain he's not going to be noticed, he makes his way across towards the temple, he finds a vantage point and waits for an opportune moment, when two or three of them are standing close, activating Violet Bier of Sorrows Form, using enough essence that his caste mark also begins to flare as he leaps from the shadows, bringing the wide edge of his staff to bear across their backs.

OOC: Went ahead and just rolled at my attack pool. Should be solid enough to kill the lot of em even if they can somehow get past the Crimson Bow's effect.

For this encounter, I am less concerned with you guys rolling dice than I am with how you take them out. Hell, there are some Charms that can take the entire group in one hit.

Stealthing up and through the crowd, Araneus moves through the barbarians like a ghost. When you leap out of the shadows and strike with your staff, three of them fall under the force of the impact with a loud crunch of bone. At the same time, Aredin looses a handful of arrows into the crowd, instantly killing four. From his position on top of the nearby building, Pyter fires an arrow that turns into a massive boulder in midair, and it crushes several people before they have any chance to react.

Any other actions to declare?

Nikola, just for the hell of it, slips from cover to cover, letting off shots from his repeaters to both pick off stragglers and keep them guessing on where the real threat is

Rine, content to let the more warrior types handle the bulk of the battle, sent a few Minions to attend to any mop up duties.

Araneus, having become visible from the shadows as he broke the backs of several people, still looks insubstantial from his cloak but manages to give off an almost sadistic smirk, preparing himself for any of the others that wish to come at him by placing himself in a martial stance, one leg supporting his weight from behind as he twirls the wrackstaff back around and into his other hand, the free one giving a "Come at me" gesture to the remaining warriors.

With the sudden appearance of multiple attackers that have wiped out half of their numbers in a heartbeat, a few of the remaining people scatter in panic, three raise up their swords and strike at Araneus. With your DV, there is really no chance of them hitting you, however. Finally, Rine's Minions begin to pick off a few of the stragglers as they break and run. Even though there were twenty plus people here, they never stood a chance against the power of the Exalts attacking them.

Zen summons his twin sky-cutters and with an almost bored expression, tosses them into the air with deadly precision. The Orichalcum shifts into pure essence as they multiply into a literal rain of golden essence. The hundreds of blades, wreathed in essence fall down upon the surviving bandits below like the rays of the Daystar.

Stunting Cascade of cutting terror to hit multiple targets. Never got why it only did one with the charm only hit one weapon. I still have my infinite melee mastery, and with Dawn King's strife I can apply it to my thrown roll! Rolling 16 + 8 dice from for 24. Dmg is 10L before soak and it is undodgeable.

Aredin feeling especially mischeivious strolled through the woods playing his flute once more, illusionary soldiers would appear in the brushes, boots thundering in the distance attempting to push them back toward the Celestials. It was an attempt to make a clean annihilation of their entire forces with no survivors.
