Fantasy Dragons Reborn

Lilith Tennant

Lilly slept uneasily. Unlike Grey, Lilly would do anything to avoid sleeping. Train with her sword to all hours of the day and night, drink Ale, polish her armor, sharpen her sword. Anything to avoid her dreams were she had no control. That's the thing that terrified her the most, the brave warrior could face any adversity as long as she was the one in control, swinging her sword or bellowing her lungs.

But in dreams, she had no control. She would just relive old memories long since past, the rough hands and her unheard screams. She clenched Grey's hand and with a start she sat bolt upright with sweat pouring down her frame, shaking visibly. Her screams echoing in her own mind, though her lip's were closed in the real world. She sat like this, heaving, collecting her thoughts for the longest time. Eyes gradually going from petrified, to hard, eyebrows narrowing sternly along with it. Creating that shell over herself.

After some time she turned her head, spotting Grey still sitting beside the couch, her green eyes drifting down to her fingers still entwined in his. Her eyes narrowing further in her curiosity.

The man so fond of sleep, had stayed by her couch all night, awake. This confused her to no end, was it not he that was always complaining of being tired? Why would he of all people stay awake just to watch over her? To keep his promise?

As the questions raced, giving her a headache in the process, she though to slip her fingers away from his hand. But... she didn't. Every time she went to she found her fingers only clenching harder, as if to tell her, don't you dare! To hold him there, beside her, to prevent him from leaving if he had the intention.

If he had stayed all night by her side, it would be weird he would suddenly up and leave, right? What would one more day be her mind thought? But her eyes must have seen something in his posture, so her fingers refused to let go.

@Mykinkaiser
Grey

As dawn broke Lil suddenly sat bolt upright, pale faced and with her chest heaving. He should have known, he couldn't help her, not truly. He was too weary to help her. He needed to be able to set down his burden if he ever was going to take hers, but... he had forgotten how to do that. He had carried his guilt and his shame for so long they were a part of him and if he were to let go he wouldn't know how to live anymore. And anyways, it was his fate to carry this burden, he couldn't set it down even if he knew how. And he wouldn't. And that's why he needs to leave. How can he expect to help Lil leave the abyss behind when he's already fallen in? All he could do is drag her in along with him.

Grey gently removes his hand from hers and stands up. He gives her one last sad, broken smile, before turning to leave with an air of finality. This was for the best...

Right?

Lilly

Lilly blinked when despite how tightly she was holding his fingers, they still slipped from her grasp. Her eyes widened when her gaze drifted up to his face and that same, sad little smile. Watching his shoulder and body twist to walk away. She was paralyzed for a moment, he didn't lie, he said he would stay till morning and now here he wasn't turning as if to leave!

Lilly threw the blanket away and lept from her spot then, the speed in which she did akin to the same speed and dexterity she had in battle. Like a lightning blot she was behind him, only instead of smacking him with her sword she threw her arms around his own, and his chest, crushing his back almost to her front. The muscles in her biceps almost bulged from the power she was using, not crushing him but holding him to her, stopping him.

Her cheek nestled in the top of his head. His hair brushing her nose to which the tickling sensation almost made her sneeze.

"Whatever reason you have for leaving, I won't let you... whatever burden you carry I won't let you do it alone... I won't let you... I won't... please don't leave me... " She whispered in a soft feminine voice she hadn't used for such a long time.

"Let me help you, just as you helped me... "

EyefaceAs Lilith pulled herself out of her armor, the stranger saw and noticed everything. He did not particularly care in any way, though. Or did he?

While the others headed down to the kitchen, he reopened the door and stepped into the bedroom. He closed the door behind him, pulled a chair over next to the bed and took a seat. He gazed at the girl's face, determining her current condition. This way of examining someone's vitals was not any special power of his, but actually a quite simple technique that has seen widespread use. Sorcerers who study magic only to expand their offensive capabilities, however, often dismiss such knowledge.

The stranger couldn't help but be impressed once again, this time by Alicia's rate of recovery. It would only be a few days or less for her to be back to full strength, while the stranger would have taken more than twice as long to recover from the same impact to his energy. Still, perhaps he could reduce to those few days to one night, and the girl would be grateful. He gently rested a hand on Alicia's forehead and channeled his own energy to her. He felt himself gradually erode away, but Alicia was receiving the energy with such a negligible loss rate that it would take only a little part of him for her to recover completely. The next day, they would talk.

Alicia Red

Alicia had slept peacefully the entire night, very much thanks to Eyeface helping her without her knowing it. She had been in slight pain due to using the majority of her magic, but that pain went away when Eyeface helped her. Of course, she wouldn't even be in a bed without Lilith..so she'd probably thank her when she woke up to. Nevertheless when morning came she woke up to a rather creepy sight; Eyeface watching her sleep. The initial sight of him caused her to emit a cry of shock and jump/roll out of the bed and onto the floor with a thud. Groaning lightly she sat up and blinked before slowly peeking over the bed, upon further inspection she realized it was the guy from before. "
Oh. Sorry about that you scared me! Hi!" She told him as she crawled back onto the bed. "Soo..thanks for helping me? I assume this is your bed and stuff after all.." She added before shrugging.

Eyeface

The reaction did not surprise the stranger in the slightest. He was used to it, after all. He lifted his hand to return the greeting, and then shook his head. This place does not belong to me. I merely assisted in your recovery from your exhaustion. He did not speak, but his voice still could be heard in Alicia's head. It was gentle yet prominent, each word crystal-clear as if Alicia had thought of them herself. A woman by the name of Lilith is the one who brought you here. This is her brother's home. You may remember her as the warrior who was riding on the bone dragon's head. The one you destroyed with that impressive... shriek. Anyway, how are you feeling? Is there anything I can get you? He was already pushing his chair back and putting his hands on the armrests, ready to stand up.

Alicia Red

Alicia was confused at first when Eyeface started talking, but quickly ascertained he was simply a telepathic being. She'd came across a few in her lifetime, so it wasn't too shocking or creepy. It's not that he was at all, no, she'd watched people as they slept before to..and as they did 'other things'. Tended to produce a good amount of positive emotions for her to absorb too. She nodded slowly as he spoke, Lilith. Yeah, she remembered her. She'd told her her name right before she passed out. She'd definetely have to thank her later. She smiled at him and shook her head when he asked if she needed anything, "
Nope! I'm fine. Thanks for offering though." She replied. "Ohh! Thanks for helping me too! I wondered how I woke up so fast..usually takes me a bit longer than that. Sooo, what's your name? I'm Alicia." She added.

He seemed nice enough, and she didn't really view him as creepy in the slightest. Plus he'd helped her, so he had to be nice. Either that or he helped her to be full strength before eating her alive. Either or, really.

Eyeface

I do not have a name of my own, but a few people have called me 'Eyeface' in the past. They were merely mocking my appearance, of course, but it is better than nothing. So far, this conversation was turning out to be much more pleasant that the one the stranger had with that clumsy woman. To be fair, it was immediately after a battle, not to mention that she had her reasons for her behaving as she did. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Alicia. Though, I wish we had met under different circumstances. Only if I had been able to overpower that dragon, you would not be in this bed right now. But at least he had saved Lilith in the process. Who could say for sure that the dragon wouldn't have dodged her attack anyway? It wasn't stupid, after all.

@Mykinkaiser
Grey

Grey was surprised yet again when Lil essentially hugged him from from behind to prevent him from leaving. But that was nothing compared to the shock he felt as she spoke. Help him? Why would she help him? He was leaving for her. Why couldn't she see that? Why did she want to bring more unnecessary pain to herself? Why would she want to help someone like him? Grey's mind was whirling with questions that he couldn't answer. He couldn't fathom why she would try to make him stay, why she cared about him. What had he done to help her? He had stayed with her as repentance for the pain he caused her. He didn't need thanks for that. He didn't want thanks for that. So why? Why was she holding on to him like she never wanted to let go? Why did she sound so much more fragile than she had before. None of this made any sense. He has to explain it to her. He has to make her realize that this is for her. He has to make her realize that this is truly for the best.

"Lil... I'm past help..." he says quietly, "My burden is of my own making... And... I'll just cause you more pain if I stay... So... I have to go..."

Magnus Cain

Magnus was so exhausted that he didn't even want to argue with Willow he just got up and started to follow her to where ever she wanted them to go. It didn't take long for him to find out where they where going. Before them was the remains of his home. The destruction was still so fresh that the piles of ashes were still smoking from the dark energy blast that created them in the first place. Only a couple of the main buildings were still standing including the council building the human leaders held council, the barracks that held all the city guards (where were they when the city was in trouble), and the mages guild building. Among the rest were maybe a couple small shops and some homes. Truthfully Magnus was not even sure why they had come back in the first place. "Willow what are we doing back here, it might be a little late to get the stuff to make bubbles."

Alicia Red

Alicia giggled and nodded. Eyeface. It suited him. But it's kind of sad he has a name because people made fun of him. "Well, in that case, we'll have to think of a new name for you then!" She declared. Whether he liked it or not, she'd think of a new much better name for him. She refused to call him Eyeface, and everyone deserved a normal name, so there. She shook her head, a small smile on her face as she put her hands up apprehensively. "No no no, it's fine! It's not your fault. I should of been paying more attention, really. I wouldn't be awake right now if it wasn't for your help. Really I feel fine." She assured him. "Now...what can we name you. Eyeface is kind of demeaning, even if it fits. Hmm.." She told him, humming in thought.

Though, she guessed anything was better than 'Eyeface', she didn't want to think of something equally offensive. Her wings subconciously fluttered slightly as she was deep in thought. Suddenly she got it, "
Steve! That's what your new name can be! That is, if you like it." She suddenly shouted, looking at Eyeface excitedly. Even if he didn't, she'd continue to call him Steve. It was better than Eyeface after all.

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonForrest trudged along the smoking rubble of the destroyed city with his hands behind his head, not seeming to care about it any more. Of course, the fact that something was able to cause so much death alarmed him, but there was nothing he could do about it now. It was only when Magnus mentioned bubbles that the man sort of got upset, resulting in him answering in Willow's place. "But there are still some buildings standing! With how big the town was, there has to be at least one shop that sells bubbles, right Willow?" he'd ask with a worried expression, turning to his favorite elf.

Willow the Hydra

Willow sighed, unable to even care for the bubbles at this point. Turning to Magnus, giving him an irritated glare, she knew she had to assure Forrest. "Of course there are probably still bubbles," she began, giving Forrest a faint smile. "Magnus here is going to take you to find some while I get something to drink. This has been a really stressful day," she finished. Looking between the two, she gave a curt nod and headed off into the town to find a tavern, hoping to have better luck this time. However, she didn't get far before stopping. With a groan, she turned back and grabbed their arms. "We'll find bubbles after the tavern. For now, we're getting drunk," she declared, feeling better about this decision. What was going out for a drink without a couple of friends to enjoy it with her? Plus last time she went out alone, it didn't end too well for her. If they saw a giant bear person, perhaps they wouldn't take her so lightly.

Eyeface

The stranger simply shrugged. What others call me does not matter to me. If you would like to call me 'Steve', that is fine. Perhaps others will, as well. In truth, he was happy to receive a proper name from Alicia. But it was dangerous for him to become attached to any one name, for it would lead him to be bound by fame and infamy, affection and animosity, existence and obliteration. 'Steve', however, was a relatively common and meaningless name, so it could not do any harm to him if people decided to use it. The others may be awake now. Shall we go down stairs? He offered a hand to her.

Awesome. It's settled then! Steve it is!" She replied cheerfully. Steve definetely sounded better than Eyeface to her, she would of called him it anyway..but it's good that he liked the name to. She felt bad for him, honestly. Though humans could be jerks at times, so she didn't really think much past that. Humans were gunna be humans after all, some were nice, and some were complete jerks. When he asked if she wanted to go ahead downstairs she thought about it a second before shrugging and nodding. "Sure thing! I need to thank Lilith anyway." She told him before hopping off the bed and stretching her body and wings before taking his hand. "Lead the way!"

Magnus Cain

Magnus didn't go drink much even though he can hold his own as long as he didn't over do it. Also he didn't really see like Willow was giving them much of a choice. There really was only one tavern left standing so it wasn't that hard to find, all they had to do was follow the trail of drunks that lead there. It almost took awhile to find a table to sit at but when they walk in a table cleared when they looked in there direction. He wasn't really sure why but he was not one to look a gifted horse in the mouth. The waitress came over and Magnus ordered a round of ale for them all. "I got this one you guy's drink as much as you want I'm good for it." He hadn't mentioned to them but he was actually more or less rich but didn't like to talk about it or show it all the time. It was always easier for him to make friends if he knew they were not after his money.

@Salt Lord @Kazehana

Willow the Hydra

She gave Magnus a big smile as she took the bottle, lifting it to toast him briefly before taking a huge swig. "Why thank you darling," she said after a large exhale and a small slam of the bottle on the table. Ah yes, free booze, her favorite! She wondered how weird it would be to go flirt with other guys when her two friends were sitting right there. Would that be weird? She shelved the idea for when she got more drunk, figuring it would all be clear to her then. Taking another few swigs, she looked around the room looking for potential targets. "Do you guys see any cute ones in here today?" she asked her two companions, not stopping her scan as she spoke.

@Salt Lord @Quinlan63

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonForrest stared at the oddly shaped, see-through cylinder that stood on the table. It almost resembled that vial with the bubbles from the shop they went to, except this one was much wider, shorter, and had grooves and a handle. What was in it was even more curious: an orange-gold liquid that seemed to be foaming at the top.

The bear man could only poke at the mug and ale suspiciously. When Willow took a swig of the alcoholic beverage, he decided it had to be safe and took a small sip for himself. Instantly, he spat it onto the seat next to him before coughing heavily. "I dunno! I'm too focused on trying to get this out of my mouth to pay attention to anything cute! Are you sure this stuff is safe to drink?" he would ask in an almost betrayed voice, not bothering to look back up at any of the two. How were they supposed to be able to stand the taste of whatever was in the cups?

Alisa Elien

Alisa had slept through the entirety of the cities destruction, not even waking for half a second. When Alisa slept, she fucking slept. Nothing short of the roof caving in and the dragon stepping on her could of woken her up, thus she had a restful nights' sleep. She woke up and stretched, glanced over to Elise, then glared at her armor in the corner and the super long shirt she was currently wearing. Elise was still asleep so it was doubtful they were leaving yet, nor was she going to bother waking her up. Walking around in metal armor all day was a pain, and she didn't really give a damn what others thought..so she opted to walk down stairs in nothing but the shirt she had on. It was oversized, clearly built for an adult human, so it traversed past her kness so it really wouldn't matter much anyway.

Before she walked downstairs she looked out of the window and blinked at the destruction she saw. "
Damn..must of been one hell of a party.." She mumbled before shrugging. Eh, what're ya gunna do? With that she exited the room and walked downstairs to the bar section of the tavern and summarily up to the bar itself. She noticed the bear..man..thing and the elf, those were the only things that stood out. But she didn't speak to them. Ale first. "Bartender, Ale." She told him flatly. A dwarf with ale was a happy dwarf. "SOOO. Anyone know what happened to the city last night?" She asked loudly once she'd recieved her ale, immediately earning silent 'wtf' looks. "What? I'm serious...damn if it's that much of a secret don't tell me." She responded to pretty much everyone in the tavern before turning to her ale.

Elise slowly woke up and held her head. That was a painful and stressful night. When she finally got her wits about her, she saw her armor discarded onto the floor next to her instead of on its stand. She didn't want it damaged or scuffed so she got out of bed and picked it up before placing it on the bed and heading downstairs in her cloth shirt and pants that she always brought with her. "Alisa, what happened last night? I think we fought something?" She holds her head and sits next to the dwarf.

Lilith Tennant

Lilly kept her strong hold around the man, as he spoke, with such helplessness. She had felt helpless once to, once, but since she had trained day and night. Became faster, stronger, sterner. No one would ever be able to come close to her if she did not allow them to.

He was avoiding his problems, running away, and Lilly suddenly vowed she would not let the sleepy man out of her sight. Not even for a second. Weither he wished that or not.

"If you truly believe I will be in pain if you stay, then, let the pain come. But if you think you can run away from it, or me, you have another thing coming." Her voice like a stone. Hard and unyielding.

Then without warning she hoisted him up and off his feet. Keeping his back pinned to her front, turned around and carried him like that, with feet dangling from the ground. Words would not work with him so she would use her brute strength. She tossed him onto the couch on his back and suddenly sat on him.

That's right, sat right on his abdomen, preventing him from moving even an inch. Or at least not an inch off the couch, he could wiggle all he liked if he wanted. She just sat there, arms crossed, legs crossed, eyes closed. Like a defiant toddler.

Heavens knows what eyeball man and fairy girl would say if they saw them like this.

Eyeface/Steve

The stranger nodded and led her downstairs to find Lilith sitting on the man she was talking to after the dragon fell. Ignoring this, he approached them with Alicia in tow. We wanted to thank you for letting us stay here. Of course, without a physical body, he had never needed shelter. He could not tire unless he was using magic, and even letting his energy regenerate did not require him to remain idle. He was constantly on the move, on a journey without rest. This had to be the first time in a while that he had stayed for an entire night. Reflecting upon this, it was a strange feeling.

Grey

She was sitting on him. Of all the things she could have done, she was sitting on him. The absurdity of this situation snapping him out of the whirlwind of thoughts in his head, allowing him to fully internalize what she had said. She would accept him, pain and all. It suddenly dawned on him that he was tired. Tired of being alone. Even if he was worthless, she said she would accept him. She would hold onto him. Maybe he should stay. Well... it's not as if he really had a choice in the matter. Oddly, he felt a bit relieved. Relieved that someone would take part of his burden. Maybe that was selfish of him. Maybe it was wrong of him. Either way he suddenly didn't care all that much. She would accept him. Grey suddenly smiled. Not a broken one as before, but a happy one, even if a small tinge of sadness remained.

He reaches up and taps Lil on the shoulder, "Mind letting me up? I'd like to go get drunk now," he says, and who can blame him? He's had a long and emotional night.

Alisa Elien

Alisa stared at Elise with a look of bewilderment.
Had she fought something? Nah. She hadn't. She'd both 1. Remember if she and 2. Never been drunk enough to forget such a thing. She'd really never been too drunk at all before. She shook her head, "You might of fought something but I sure as hell didn't, I was asleep all night." She replied. "Don't suppose you know anything about what happened to the city then?" She asked her.

Eyeface/SteveThe stranger nodded and led her downstairs to find Lilith sitting on the man she was talking to after the dragon fell. Ignoring this, he approached them with Alicia in tow. Alicia Red

Alicia followed Steve down the stairs once he was ready only to be greeted by Lilith sitting atop Grey on the couch. Well then. "
Little early for that, dontcha think guys?" She asked with a grin on her face. "There are other people in the house, you know. Could at-least do it in the bathroom." She told them before giggling. "Ehh..I don't care. Really. Continue. But first! Thanks for letting me stay here!" She added quickly. Who was she to denounce what others did in their free time? She'd never exactly done it herself, but she'd watched others...and heard about it. So. Yeah. Plus she was kind of a guest in the house, so she couldn't exactly tell Lilith what to do. Besides, they weren't hurting anything. Except maybe the couch, it looked kind of unable to support them if they went at it.

Magnus Cain

Magnus was just sipping on his think if it was ok for them to let Forest to drink ale when Willow starts asking if he find anyone cute in the tavern. "Willow I'm not sure what you would consider cute but try your luck over by the barkeep." He really didn't want to say that but it was the only thing he could think of saying. "Forest trust me it's more of an acquired taste so you won't just like it but I didn't want to leave you out so drink up." Today was a giving day for him, he even planned on seeing if they want anything from him to show how happy that he met them. "Hey Willow before you go out and try your luck was there anything I can get for my new friend?"

Willow the Hydra

Confused as to why Forrest didn't know about alcohol, she responded by drinking some mpre, finishing her first glass. "Can we get some more over here?" she asked loudly, then returned to the two men at hand. "It's great once you get used to it! As for the men, I think I'll wait till one a little more appealing comes along. After all, I can do better than what's over there right now," she said, giggling lightly at the end. It eas very clear she was a lightweight. Pretty soon, she was gonna start her quest for men, hoping to get some goods for tonight. No not those goods you dirty dirty person. She's gonna rob em after they pass out. But hey, if the shoe fits...

Forrest the Lovable Bear PersonForrest continued to poke at the seemingly endless amount of foam at the top of the mug, both of his friends telling him he'd get used to it and that the more he drank the better it'd be. He grabbed at the handle and lifted the beverage to his lips before hesitantly and reluctantly taking a sip, then a gulp... pretty soon, half of the thing was gone, and with a wipe of his mouth, Forrest slammed the ale back onto the wooden table. He had already began to feel woozy, needing to hold onto the table for support, as he spoke, "I don't... why did you make me do that."
