I just got my phone back after leaving it at my friends house about a week ago.


Well, after giving it some thought, there MUST be some type of Medbot, for situations such as this, where Raze is unable to do stuff. The Medbot, of course, would know everything Raze knows. So I think we should just say that the Medbot and Karas' s combined effort completes the surgery.

I'm actually addressing that in my post. We do have medbots that came with the Bastion, but Karas was so focused on making the base defensible that he and Raze never updated them to compensate for Saiyan physiology. See, Saiyans don't communicate with any other species except when it suits them. This meant that Insta-Kit's engineers had no idea how to make medical technology that could support Saiyan physiology. As a result, since humans exist in this RP in standard space opera form, the Bastion's medbots default to treatment for humans because Saiyans are basically Rubber-Forehead Aliens. Unfortunately, Saiyans have a higher-voltage current running through their nervous system than humans, which means that any cybernetics from outside their species will either not work, catch fire, or will spontaneously explode. Thus, Xol had to fix up Raze and Dicchio himself, since Raze's ataxia would prevent him from doing any fine motor work once he woke up. Thankfully, it was a complete success.

So my good old friend Daydreaming gave me some other ideas. I'm thinking that Rakton Spec, the man who led the gang that took Karas' arm, is going to show up. You can play him if you want. Pretty much all I have in mind for him so far is that he's a stereotypical Saiyan warrior, and is egotistical and arrogant even for them. He's an Elite, and leads his own Raid Group of like-minded individuals. I can get to work on an NPC sheet if you want, or I could go the PC sheet route if you want more combat details.

Would it be reasonable for me to start upgrading the robots and adding specialized classes (sniper, explosives expert, melee fighter, etc)? Also, I so want to get to work on another set of elite robots or perhaps the superweapon I mentioned a few pages ago. Can I put my mind to work? Just keep in mind that this is just the design phase right now. While the Bastion provides ample justification for instantly manufacturing these robots, Karas will have to put his designs through their paces before he can mass-produce them. The design and testing phase will take a large amount of time, obviously, which is my justification for why we can't just churn out a million superweapons right now.


Also, @Kyero: I don't think I'll be making more elite human-sized robots. If Karas wants to upgrade a Tragedy-sized robot's base power beyond, let's say, 200,000, he'll have to start building outwards to accommodate the larger ki container. Thus, we'll be starting with robots the size of a man on a horse, and they'll grow in size from there. We'll start building up to an elephant, then an orca, then a blue whale, and so on until we end up with Metroplex clones. Also, keep in mind that there's room for upgrades within each robot size class. So if the human-sized robots have a max PL of 200k without ki concentration but you can make a robot with less inside, the horse-sized robot might have a max PL of 800,000, the orca a max PL of 3,200,000, the blue whale 12,800,000, and so on. Of course this is a rudimentary scale at best. We'll have to really work out the math later.

It will depend on how much damage he took during the fight, how quickly he recovered, and what kind of training he went through. He only had three weeks for this, so as long as it's all reasonable and feasible, you should be fine.

I made an update to the Mechanics Page regarding the benefits of training and combat. As our powers increase, our base powers will stop growing at such rapid rates and thus the calculations will reflect it.


Each of them (combat and training) have three new numbers and each of those new numbers will at some point become the new curve once certain prerequisites are met. Those prerequisites are attaining a power level of 1,000,000, unlocking the Super Saiyan form, and unlocking Super Saiyan 2.


After that point the Saiyan body will settle and find a point of optimum efficiency and no further reductions will be suffered. But in order to accommodate our growing powers beyond those milestones I had to decrease the increases our base forms attain. It also helps with maintaining some level of consistency within the group's dynamic.

There may be a way for Karas to get around the ki storage problem that makes robots have to increase in size as the power ceiling grows. What if Karas and Raze took a culture of Saiyan cells, figured out how to induce a Zenkai within the culture, and then put them in a machine that periodically inflicted physical damage on the cells in the cell culture without killing them? This would force the cell culture to gradually grow in power over time. Of course, it would be a lot slower, and it might take several weeks or even months for the culture to attain a useful power level, but over time it would effectively create a hyper-efficient method of ki storage that could then be stuck inside a smaller robot to create an extremely powerful fighter. Is this even remotely possible and/or acceptable?


Second, I'm thinking of having Karas create a suit of power armor, or a mech, that directly connects to the pilot's body and uses their ki to power itself, allowing it to scale with the power of the pilot. Of course, Karas would also use his efficiency technology to do more with less, enabling the mech or power armor to multiply the effective power of the pilot. However, this would come with the drawback of fatiguing the pilot over time, as the mech runs down their ki reserves, potentially leaving them open to attack once the suit is disabled or destroyed.

I do enjoy your enthusiasm but unfortunately I can't allow for either of these. The robot army, despite being central thus far to home base defense, is not part of the central focus of the RP and the mech suit would take too much attention away from Karas himself.


As the RP is focused on our characters and their journey through the vast potential of the Saiyan bloodline, I want the robot army to remain an afterthought (and again the mech suit would take too much attention off of Karas himself). The robots are there when and if needed for home base defense, but they're not part of the central focus of the RP itself. In fact both the robot army and the other Saiyan survivors who have answered the call to come to this new home are about to become almost irrelevant to our character's existence for a good while unless you'd like to drag one or two individuals along for character development purposes such as Karas' old leader from the police force.


Korvaiis is about to announce that our characters (and a limited number of other volunteers) are going to begin seeking out and destroying Inecros' main supply line. A very dangerous and long winded venture. It will inevitably lead us into conflict with numerous hostile alien races, some of which are and some of which aren't directly linked to Inecros himself, which will begin pushing us further into our odyssey of power towards the discovery of the Super Saiyan form.


We will be taking a private mobile base with us for the purpose of giving us a place to rest and recuperate whenever injured, and I will now allow for the research and development of a rejuvenation chamber so we have a way to not be taken out of action for as long. However as a limit I will only allow for enough resources (specifically the cellular elements) for one chamber to exist. Period. I want this to be so hard to build and the resources so rare that if this one is destroyed, that's it. There is no other chamber or way to duplicate its effects. Also it will take a well injured Saiyan approximately 16-20 hours of rest and near motionlessness in the chamber before they are back to 100%.


But otherwise we won't be seeing our new home world or the robot army again for a pretty long while. When we do return to our newly established home world, there will be at least one Super Saiyan in tow for all to see (to give you an idea of how long it will be before the robot army becomes relevant again).


We can continue communicating with the home base and Karas can continue to spearhead the development of the robot army, but the army itself is an afterthought going forward and not to be considered part of the main focus of the RP. This is where it takes a truly DBZ style turn in focus and direction with combat becoming the primary element as we push towards Super Saiyan. It will be relentless, as expected of such a dangerous adventure. Battle after battle, sometimes one right after another, are ahead of us now.


So once everyone has concluded whatever business they have with their characters I will push us forward.

While it's always fun to have him personally kick ass, he's the type who would try to avoid being on the front lines if he can help it. Karas knows he's far too valuable to the Saiyan war effort to be a frontline fighter, and will prefer to use technology over personal brawn if he can get away with it.


Of course, once Super Saiyan forms and nine-digit power levels come along, he'll realize that his technology isn't actually able to keep up with plain old organic strength. Even if he can find the materials to make a weapon that can rival Era or Sil in power post-Super Saiyan, it would be an enormously expensive and time-consuming waste of resources once Era gets another Zenkai.


That's the thing about DBZ villains: they're always geared to be a threat to the strongest fighters on the heroes' team. So if Karas creates a defense system that can instantly kill someone with Inecros' power level, once that villain gets wind of that, he's not going to attack because he'll know that he'll get ripped to shreds. Instead, a much stronger villain will show up and render the defense system moot, resulting in Era and Sil having to save the day.


And as for the power armor, I figured that the power armor would be our equivalent to a Kaio-ken. It's pretty much the same thing, just one that makes more logical sense. Instead of a technique that arbitrarily multiplies power (with no explanation, mind you) in exchange for putting strain on the user's body, it's a battle suit that's powered by the user's ki and drains their energy reserves over time. And here's the other thing about the power armor: It'll become absolutely useless to the main cast after a certain point. As the pilot's energy increases, the ki pathways in the suit eventually aren't able to handle the volume of ki running through them, causing the suit to burn out. Thus, after a certain point (likely once the players cross the 1 million power mark), the mech suit becomes the exclusive tool of NPC allies, such as Xol and the Saiyan survivors.

I was basically waiting on you at that point in time. The only thing I can really think of to bump up Karas' power acclimation without you editing your post is to artificially inflate the result.

I'm going to go ahead and move us forward now with Korvaiis' announcement. I'll give the group a total of 3 days to rest and acclimate so Karas has some time to catch up to what you had planned originally and then we'll be off on my next post after you've had your time to have Karas do his thing.
