Nope. You're good to work with that at your pleasure.Genon said:@Kyero, I have a plan for getting Karas into the Raid Group. Remember in my last post when I mentioned that Karas has been intercepting alien subspace transmissions through a hacked scouter? How he's been listening to and watching works of fiction? I figured that he gets a visit from his commanding officer in the PTC, telling him that his frivolousness makes him a liability, because his rampant media consumption and visits to alien space stations might lessen his resolve to kill aliens in general, even invading ones. This means that Karas' only choices are to be an underpaid and underappreciated scientist or to go back to Nei. Does this conflict with anything?
What I am about to say will sound incredibly elitist, but as a role-player of nearly 20 years now I don't care because it's the honest truth of the matter:Morbuskid said:This honestly isn't a bad idea, but you have to know that there is a little more people interested in Casual which in a way, is kind of a break from all the paragraphs just to respond to someone.
Other than that i am quite interested.
I just made an opinion, not oging against anything about you alright. It is your RP and you deserve to do whatevr you want. Though i am not really a great writer i can still make good short stories that are a few paragraphs long. Besides i don't spend my time writing allot, i am usually on a game screaming my head off because of annoyance or epicness, watching videos, or reading a book. I don't call this Elitist or any over Self Admiration, but i still take your words as much as i take mine. However some Roleplayers do kinda have limited imaginations so yeah. Not saying i am one of them, but i do kinda get a little lazy so i make most of my RP's casual so i don't have to right too much but just a good amount. But anyway i am gonna think about joining because i already have to type as much as you can type easily, although it is for school. If you have evr heard of double of TIQA then you know what i am talking about.Kyero said:What I am about to say will sound incredibly elitist, but as a role-player of nearly 20 years now I don't care because it's the honest truth of the matter:
"Casual" RP's bore me, and that's why I label all of my RP's as "Detailed."
As a role-player of almost 20 years and an aspiring novelist and screenplay writer to boot, I want to push myself to do more. Casual RP's do not challenge me in any way, and thus I have no desire to be a part of them.
I have one Casual RP here which I created before discovering that Casual RP's bore me, but despite that label and against my initial expectations everyone involved in that RP is a "Detailed" role-player like me and they post paragraphs worth of information every time because of the fact that they are just as driven as I am. Each of them wants to do more than just put words on a page to "keep the RP moving." That RP stalled for nearly six months, but is still alive and kicking because of the dedication of the players and their love for the RP itself because it's engaging and made them work hard to create characters they've come to love and view as a part of themselves. They also came to love the world, just as I do, and they make every effort to make each post mean something in the grand scheme of things rather than just take up space on the page out of some misguided sense of obligation to do so.
That's how you know yo've really got something special in an RP and a character, when you view the character as part of yourself and not just another face on a page for you to control. When the RP world makes you want to post paragraphs worth of information because you're that excited and eager to add to the world, to add to the life of your character and the lives of the other characters, and to add to the overall quality of the story in a grand and meaningful way. That's something special, and that's the kind of RP that will succeed no matter what obstacles may arise.
The typical Casual RP's on this site don't do any of those things I mentioned because they let you get away with too much. It's ironic, but a fact, that being forced into a corner (so to speak) expands your horizons and makes you think more creatively and openly to find solutions to problems and make something out of nothing. By demanding my players make detailed character profiles, they attach themselves to the character because of the work it took to get them there. By forcing my players to make detailed posts as often as possible and blocking off the option for the easy way out, they are forced to think harder and involve themselves more deeply with what's going on and that lets them become more a part of the world and the experience than if I were to just let them post however they want.
That's how you grow as a writer, role-player, and a person. When you're pushed to extremes, your growth and potential become limitless. If you play it safe or take the easy way out all the time as you do in Casual RP's, you'll never grow and you'll never become anything more than average.
I want to help push others to become more than average, and to be pushed in return to continue to better myself as a writer/role-player. That's why my RP's are Detailed, because it forces me to push others and in turn push myself to be the role model they deserve and it makes us all better for it by the end of the experience.
So if you still would like to be a part of this, then I welcome you aboard. You are free to make your character and wait for approval before posting. But know that if you join I will be challenging you in many ways as you progress through the RP.
If you no longer wish to participate because of my little rant, then I understand and will not stop you or make a fuss about your departure. I only ask that you understand my opinion on the matter and accept it for what it is, as I will do the same whatever your response may be.
I can, and I will work on that very soon. I'll have a post up doing just that in about an hour or two.Genon said:@Kyero, I'm going to edit my post to have Karas not know what his options are, or consider being demoted to a scientist. Can you have Nei approach him directly for recruitment?
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!Kyero said:Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
Fair enough.Genon said:Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
On an unrelated note, I'm going to bump up Karas' PL slightly to account for training and I've upped BC's PL to 50K. As I said earlier, to fuse means losing a numerical advantage, so to make it worth combining 2 units into 1, the fusion needs to be greater than the sum of its parts.

Edited my post to retcon the middle-class Saiyan bit, Karas would have already been promoted over the last five days since his power breached 2,000.
...with the Inecros crap that'll happen soon I doubt that'll mean anything more than an honorary title in a few posts.
Actually, he won't have done so yet, which is what I wanted to tell you about your post. Remember that the genetic limit is a fact of Saiyan life, and Karas is still bound by it. He has not received a zenkai which would break 2,000 yet.
In order to begin rising in power, you have to do the same thing Era and Sil did by finding that power she was talking about within Karas. But that won't happen until a special event takes place which is coming up very soon.
So I need you to edit your response. Karas is still more or less where he was before and there is no such thing as limitless power to him yet. He would know there are limits, so this would shock him just as much as anyone else at this time until he discovers this special power for himself which breaks his genetic limit.
So what you're telling me is that Karas' Path to Power means nothing? I was under the impression that Zenkais were something we were keeping. Granted, Zenkais are in canon exclusively supposed to apply to near-death beatings, but the fact that you divided up power increases by level of injury implied that we were indeed talking about a modified form of Zenkai. It's really not clear in the mechanics. Granted, there were some other things you've modified from the mechanics tab, but nowhere in the mechanics does it state that anything is required in order to make use of Zenkais.Kyero said:Actually, he won't have done so yet, which is what I wanted to tell you about your post. His path to power is very relevant and meaningful, hence why I asked you to make it. It's just he's not going to make use of it right this minute. Right now he's bound to the laws of nature for the Saiyan Race who have a genetic limitation to how much energy their bodies are capable of acquiring and holding. Once they reach that limit, there are no further zenaki's. That's why Era and Sil were stuck at 300 and 420 for the last several years of their lives despite training together almost constantly as well as going on Raids. They reached their limit, and no longer were able to grow anymore powerful until now.Genon said:So what you're telling me is that Karas' Path to Power means nothing? Now this special event stuff is fine, it's just that it was never clarified in any of the documentation.
EDIT: I will edit my post though, give me a moment.
