Karas and Dicchio also saw haw distraught Eve was.

"What's wrong with Eve" Dicchio asked.

"I don't know... But she's been this way since the fight" Raze answered, " We should ask the commander about this..."

They watched Eve sulk over to the Commander. They decided to give her her privacy, but as soon as she left, they headed over to Korvaiis, seeing Karas do the same thing.

After hearing Karas say he needed to talk about Eve, Raze agreed and inputted," She's been acting differently since the fight, would you happpen to know why"

Raze instinctively straightened his clothes. He remembered his chat with her about the Saiyan Authoritive Syndrome. He felt this was the reason why and decided that if this happened to have somthing to do with it, the Commander should know," About 2 or 3 weeks ago, I diagnosed Eve with Saiyan Authoritive Syndrome. Do you think she took it pretty hard when you turned around..."

Korvaiis had allowed Eve to leave to find Zarytto, and was then approached by Karas, Dicchio, and Raze. When he mentioned that they needed to talk about Eve he heaved a sigh as he turned to face the trio.

"Eve's condition arose when I turned my back on her, as I expected it to." He said quietly.

He then looked to Raze with an accusatory, though still relaxed expression.

"You forgot that your Scouter works on multiple frequencies, and unless you isolate it others can hear what you say. I heard everything about her condition when the two of you had your 'private' conversation. Her need to receive and follow orders like some kind of drug, an urge she cannot control. She lives to receive orders, especially from one who takes an especially commanding stance. It is likely this is why she gravitates to Zarytto as well. He may be the most ignorant excuse of a Saiyan we have ever met, but he has the confidence to lead if he ever chose to do so."

He brushed his hand through his hair as he let out another sigh.

"Ever since I overheard that conversation I have prepared for this eventuality. I knew if I turned my back on her someday that she would be forced to face the one path in life she never wanted to: true freedom from control. My turning my back on her cut her off from her need, but because I didn't allow her to leave the group as I did with Zarytto she became trapped in a world where her commanding figure, the one whom she relies on the most to fulfill her needs, had shunned her and refuses to do what she needs him to do: give her orders."

He looked to the skies towards where Eve had flown off to.

"This is likely the first time in her life that Eve has been forced to make real decisions on her own. Giving herself an order, disguised as a thought or a desire, to accomplish a task. Right now, her heart is ordering her to find Zarytto because it's the only option she thinks that she has left. She likely doesn't even realize it's happening, but Zarytto's arrogance and commanding presence are what draws her to him in the wake of my turning my back on her."

He took a moment to breathe.

"It's a shame, really. If Zarytto could only learn how to calm his mind and stifle his pride he'd make an excellent Commander. One I'd be proud to follow. But his arrogance and ignorance both cloud his judgement whether he wants to admit it or not. His desire for strength and the power to dominate, as well as his never-ending desire to push ahead when a truly tactful and intelligent warrior decides to fall back to rethink their strategy are what prevent him from being the Saiyan he otherwise could be. He's a novice fighter because of it, and not even a novice at being part of a team. He's nothing. And that, the fact that he is worth nothing to this team, is more dangerous than any enemy we could ever face now or in the future. That's why I've banished him from our group. I have no use for a Saiyan who is worthless in a team environment."
He said.

Raze and Dicchio listened to Korvaiis response.

Raze was surprised to hear that he heard the conversation beteen him and Eve until he thought about it. He either heard it through his or Eve's. Korvaiis must've heard everything through his scouter as since he didn't have it on and he was able to hear both sides , as if it was on Raze's voice being amplified would've been all he heard. Raze was hopeful that Korvaiis didn't hear all the other things he talked to Dicchio about.

As Korvaiis continued to talk, Raze was becoming less and less confused. It all made sense. Eve must've felt that she wouldn't of been able to survive without orders, and as she would've been free as Korvaiis turned his back on her and Zarryto was banished, she left to try and get the one that commanded her around the most.

Raze was in total agreement with Korvaiis about Zarryto. Zarryto was hot-headed, moreso then the Saiyans he knew, and arrogant. No one would be able to work with someone, on equal grounds as them, effectively if that person thought they were the best.

Karas listened to what Korvaiis had to say. The Commander seemed to be answering Raze's question. Karas hadn't gotten a chance to ask Korvaiis what he really wanted to ask.

"So you knew that Eve would have this kind of traumatized reaction when you turned your back on her. And you know that Eve is drawn to Zarytto specifically because of it. There are only a few possibilities that can stem from this now, you know, and most of them aren't good. For one, Zarytto might now have a loyal minion at his beck and call. This could result in us being down another member, since Eve may end up leaving simply because she feels she has no-one else in her life who can fulfill those needs. The other possibility is that she comes to her senses and lets Zarytto leave. At this point, I can't imagine her ever attempting to break her addiction on her own, so I think that her leaving is a very real possibility. I can imagine Zarytto will abuse her, trying to push her away from him, or he will eventually begin exploiting her submissiveness for his own gain. A little much, even for him? Maybe, but I wouldn't put it past him given what we know of him. And I'm sure that there's more to Zarytto than meets the eye."

Karas took a deep breath and continued.

"I understand that as a commander you sometimes have to implement harsh discipline to keep your troops in line, but I feel that this was going too far given what you knew of Eve's condition. I'm not sure what else you could have done in that situation--Raid Group members trying to kill each other is dire indeed--but I'm sure you saw what happened to Eve. She mentally broke. She simply wasn't there anymore. She's completely traumatized. I want the light back in her eyes, and Zarytto sure as hell can't put that light back."

Korvaiis listened to Karas' statement, and nodded towards the end.

"I am well aware of that, but Eve is not. Zarytto is all she believes she has left at the moment, but I have confidence that in time she will recover the light you cherish in her eyes. Give her time. She is a true Saiyan, and I believe in her." He said calmly.

He let out a soft sigh.

"All right... That's about enough for today. I'm going to sleep. I will see you all in the morning." He said before turning to leave them be.

(Thus, it begins. I request of @general ostruppen that Even and Zarytto be allowed to return before you make your entrance. I think it'll be more entertaining that way.)

The next morning, Korvaiis awoke at the break of dawn, as always, and walked outside. He sat down cross legged outside the entrance to the ship, and began to meditate while the others continued to sleep.

"Well, if you believe in her, I'll trust your judgment. But if she leaves with Zarytto...I'm holding you responsible." With that, Karas turned and left for the ship. Returning to his lab, he figured he would check the ship's inventory before he got a meal and went to bed.

Since the fight with Zyra and Elise, Karas, like everybody else in Raid Group 02A with the exception of Rakton (who wasn't there), had become painfully aware of his own limitations. Most Saiyans would respond simply by training. But Karas had a unique method of advancing himself. His arm. He needed to see if the commander had stocked up on his signature artificial ki pathways and capacitors. They were by far his greatest invention: A mechanism that could draw ki from the body to power another construct. Artificial ki pathways could revolutionize organic-powered technology, and with the ki capacitors in Karas' arm, it could even result in a power multiplier.

So why couldn't Karas just use bigger capacitors to get a higher increase? He wasn't aiming for something overly large, maybe 2x-2.5x at most, but it could mean the difference between life and death. Eventually, Karas came across what he was looking for, and after putting everything back in its place, he went to the mess hall, ate a classically-large Saiyan dinner, and went to bed.

(@Kyero @Lord Zanicus @general ostruppen @Anime King Kaleb @Zuka Alright, Karas is on the next morning. Ready for timeskip!)

There was the steady drum drum drum of footsteps far in the distance. A dark siloutte appearing in the horizon, amidst a sea of red's, orange's and yellow. The sun still barely awoken from it slumber.

A siloutte, just one.

Alone on a dawn backdrop.

Why was she walking? Why did she not fly? That would have taken longer surely. Was she ok? As she approached closer, she did not speed up or slow down, just kept the same daunting heavy steps of her gate.

She approached the entrance of the ship with head bowed, eyes focused dully against the dirt ground. Her expression told Korvaiis exactly what had transpired. She walked up to the doorway and only stopped once she was standing beside the meditating Commander. Though she didn't look to him. Infact, she didn't even lift her eyes off the ground.

"He's not coming back." She said in an emotionless tone.

"Am I excused to go to my room?" The same dry, void voice she had carried along with the lackluster walk. Like she had no purpose on Earth. No will for anything. Even before he asked she had already continued walking into the vessel with the monotone beat of her boots against the floor. Like a living zombie.

Korvaiis continued meditating silently as Eve approached, and when she told him that Zarytto wasn't coming back he opened his eyes and looked up at her.

"Of course he's not coming back. He's a useless coward, despite what he claims and likes to think about himself. If he wants to tuck his tail and run away from his failures, then that's on him. Not you." He said calmly as he stood up to look down at her.

"Now that you have discovered the truth for yourself about him, it's high time you stopped worrying about him." He said in a more harsh tone.

He reach out and grabbed her chin gently between his index finger and his thumb with his right hand, lifting her chin so she had no choice but to look at him face to face.

"You are not excused to go to your room Eve. Your attitude has caused great concern amongst your comrades while you've been gone. Since I turned my back, you have acted as if the world has come to an end... That stops now." He said, releasing her chin and raising the volume of his voice a little bit.

"Eve Zefara, whether you like it or not you are hereby ordered to forget about that worthless excuse of a Saiyan and start acting like the member of this team you agreed to be. You will go to your comrades and apologize to each of them one by one, face to face, and look each of them in the eyes as you apologize. I forbid you from hiding behind your confusion and sorrow any longer. If you want to mope about and feel sorry for yourself because I turned my back on you for a few minutes, do so when you're dead. Until then you're going to act like a Saiyan. Now get to work. Your companions should be waking up anytime now and will want to know you're safe." He ordered harshly while pointing to the inside of the ship.

He then turned his attention to the outside world and activated his Scouter, honing in on and isolating Zarytto's Scouter signal so nobody else would hear unless they were standing within earshot of his voice. Whether Zarytto even had his Scouter with him, Korvaiis didn't care. He was going to speak, and Zarytto's Scouter was going to listen whether Zarytto himself wanted to listen or not.

"Hear me now, Zarytto. Your words and actions have caused more pain amongst this group than you know or even care about, and it's time I put an end to end it permanently. Whether it's with you rejoining the group, dying by my hand, or running away with your tail tucked between your legs, I care not. But if you want to prove you're a true Saiyan then I hereby issue you this challenge."

He put more edge his voice.

"Single combat, as it seems to be the only way you know of or care to use to solve a dispute. As a handicap I will reduce my power to 50% of my maximum for the duration of the bout to even the playing field and I will bar myself from using any Ki attacks. All outside interference will be strictly forbidden regardless of what transpires during our battle. If you win, I will order Era to return your Zenkai to you and you will be free to either stay or leave as your heart desires. But if I win, you will rejoin the group without protest and continue without your Zenkai until I feel you've earned it back."

He paused a moment.

"You seem to have it in your head that I need others to fight my battles for me, so unlike you I will not run away from what has happened between us by hiding in the wilderness and dropping my power as close to zero as I can to prevent myself from being sought out. I have nothing to hide, nor anyone to hide from. I stand before our ship now with my head held high and my back straight, unashamed and unafraid. I stand here ready and willing to prove with actions that you are wrong to behave as you have by defeating you in traditional Saiyan style."

He took a breath and spoke more calmly now.

"Now that Eve is back where she belongs, and Zyra and Elise are poised to assist us in our journey to defeat Inecros, we've no further need to remain here. If you haven't come to the ship within the hour then I will know your answer and we will all leave without you. The choice is yours."

He smiled subtly.

"Korvaiis, out." He said before cutting the transmission.

With that it was just a waiting game as he turned off his Scouter. He didn't want or need to hear a response from Zarytto at all. Zarytto's appearance, or lack of appearance, would be the only answer he needed. He had a feeling Zarytto would not appear, as it seemed to be his way that once he had his mind set on a course he would not change it for any reason. But only time would tell. Others in the past had surprised him before. Maybe Zarytto would surprise him now.

He kept his eyes on the skies as he waited for his challenger to step up, or shut up.

@Genon @Zuka @Lord Zanicus @general ostruppen @Anime King Kaleb

Eve was none to surprised that Korvaiis had told her to ignore the mohawk saiyan. He even reached forward then to grasp at her chin and tilt her head to face up to him, that weird blush returning as he held her there, so she had to face him. Her eyes clouded over.

But something seemed to change then in her mind.

A dangerous flash appeared in her eyes as they narrowed down and for the first time her glare was directed at The Commander. A fierceness returning even if only for a moment.

There was so much she wanted to say. So much she wanted to do. But she could not. Even if her temper was falling she had just enough sense to know that if she tried anything he'd reverse it in a heartbeat.

She envisioned reaching up and grabbing his wrist, twisting it violently and yanking him closer to her, lowering his head a breath away, so they would be equal rather then him above her.

"Do not dare tell me to forget about that worthless Saiyan Zarytto.... Do not dare tell me to act like a member of this team. So far, I am the only person to give half a mind if Zarytto lives or dies... What about my comrades? They worried about me... what about Zarytto? I am the single only person on this Raid Group to risk her life constantly for everyone else..."

She would shove him back now, forcefully, that gaze still stern.

"I will see to my comrades when I am good and ready."

Here she turned her back on him this time. She did not ask for his permission, she did not cower. Instead she straightened her back and without another word she strode away, up the corridor through the main part of the vessel. She wanted to go to her room, but decided breakfast was probably not a bad way to go about it. Afterall being all Saiyan's they would rouse to eat no doubt and she would meet them there.

... At least, that's what she wanted to do. But for now all she could do was comply silently and walk into the ship. She would give him a real piece of her mind later.

Kentan

up above the sky heading towards to the Saiyan base, a small transport ship was speeding up to keep up on schedule. In the cockpit of that ship was where Kentan was. He was standing near the doorway holding a clipboard of the saiyans roster on this planet. Statistics on the chain of command, KIA members, who were alive, how old, height, weight, and so forth. However these statistics were a bit old as they were recorded about a week ago so anything really could have happened and changed.

"Sir we are closing in on our destination"

Kentan looks up with his usual stern look and replies with a thumbs up as he continued to keep his eyes on the roster. The pilot looked back and only shook his head in what looked to be disappointment. Kentan usually got that look, mostly because he was a local scientist, short, always looked angry when really that's just how he looked. Of course he also couldn't forget that his big gapping scar on his right eye didn't really leave comfort to those around. Tho he has been praised by other warriors thinking it was a battle scar and then only then telling them that it was caused by a explosion with a prototype. He got the usual laugh but he payed no heed to them.

After a few minutes the sight of other saiyans was in view.

After getting granted permission to land the pilot proceeded. Kentan then went off to retrieve his belongings, only to find that something was missing. He went to his quarters and found his scouter was missing. This somewhat annoyed him and he decided to ask the pilot for one.

"Do you have a spare scouter by chance in this ship?"

The pilot looks back from his seat.

"Naw sorry I only got one, though I'm pretty sure the Commander here has spares left. Anyways I gotta get going and ship supplies so come on and hurry up."

Kentan nodded and opened the ships door and floated out until he slowly reached the floor. He takes in the scenery of the base. In his mind this was pretty good. tho now he had to find the commander which if he read correctly was korvaiis or something like that. He looks around with the sound of the ships engine bursting and then fading into the distance.

He looks to find what seemed to be the Saiyan vessel. He decided to go there first and hopefully find someone near it. Luckily for Kenyan there was one person and he seemed a bit trouble in mind, or probably just seemed to be miserable. Tho he couldn't really tell till he started talking to him. He quickly announces his presence and quickly salutes to the commander.

"Kentan from planet outpost Reyu 234-2, reporting in." He stands straight and looks at the commander for a response. While also observing his body language and expression.

Korvaiis' eyes never strayed from watching the skies for any signs of Zarytto's presence. If he was going to come, he'd have to power up and fly if he was going to make it on time. But there were no signs of him doing so yet.

The arrival of this new Saiyan on that vessel which just took off was a bit of a surprise until Korvaiis remembered he requested another member during their 26 day trip out.

Still watching the skies, he addressed Kentan.

"Commander Korvaiis Drehden. Nice to meet you Kentan." He said, finally taking a moment to look at the new Saiyan.

"There is much we need to bring you up to speed on, but for the time being please go inside the ship. We will be departing this planet within the hour, and it would be wise for you to meet your new squad mates." He said.

He then returned his eyes to the skies, watching and waiting silently for any signs of Zarytto.

@general ostruppen

Kentan at ease and nodded, he found it strange that the commander continued to look to the skies even when addressing to him. He thought of asking but assumed he was waiting for someone or something else to arrive. So he then went off to venture inside the vessel.

Inside was nothing new to the previous vessels he once traveled on, rather it was probably the same ship model. Tho it had been nearly 9 years since he had done any traveling to different planets.

He continues to walk when suddenly he had bumped into someone. He takes a step back to meet eve. She was indeed tall and had looked to be a worthy Saiyan warrior. Her statistics indicated that she was excellent a determined and disciplined warrior. Tho her expression at first site was very dreadful. She seemed really tense and upset about something. Kentan quickly fixes his posture and bows to her. "My apologize for bumping into you, I'm the newest recruit. I hope I haven't caught you in a bad timing, if I have I will immedietly leave your presence."

Eve was awash with memories of the previous day. Forget that mohawk saiyan? Yeah and Saiyan's jumped over the moon...She took a shaky breath outwards but try as she might to compose herself she just couldn't... Did Korvaiis not care at all if he came back?

Eve's eyes were still clouded though something bumped into her, her mind so far south she didn't even realise he was there. In an instance she whirled on him her expression livid.

"What the hell is your problem Zar-" She stopped then eyes wide. Because she realised with a start she was looking at nothing. No towering Saiyan, but her gaze lowered to someone much...much...shorter. She blinked for a moment before she straightened from her tense position.

"N...newest recurit?" She repeated with an expressionless gaze. Just another thing to add to the things Korvaiis refused to tell her about. So what, he doesn't care if Zarytto will return and replaces him with some...

She clenched her fists for a moment and took a depth breath. This was not like her at all. She collected her thoughts enough to not seem aggressive, just, blank.

"N..no that's fine. My name is Eve Zefara... I'm guessing you have already spoken to the Commander? I was just heading to the mess hall for some breakfast, that is where our comrades will no doubt surfice once they have awoken." Here her voice seemed formal, like in all that transpired had returned her to her formal ways when she hung around the Elite's, before she had joined the Raid Group and relaxed. Maybe it was the best to not feel the loss.

Without a word she pulled her shoulders back and lifted her chin, continuing to walk to the mess hall oblivious if he was following or not.

@general ostruppen

Kentan clearly saw that something was up. First with the cut off with "Zar" word, the only person within this teams roster with a name starting with that hint. Was a saiyan named Zarytto. Six feet, twenty ones years old, and referred to as a "Hot headed monkey". This zarytto seemed to have caused alot of tension and negative emotions. Especially the woman Eve that was present. For now he decided to not mention anything about the man nor ask questions for the day and instead get himself accustomed.

He decided to follow along with eve towards the mess hall, his stomach failed to keep its sound of hunger down. Kentan continued to look around and just appreciating what he see's. When he looked back at Eve from behind he noticed that she was still clenching her fist.

"Mind If I ask but who here is the strongest other than the commander of this team?" As he looks ahead.

Eve shouldn't have been surprised that new recruit had followed her, again her senses should have realised that but her tension was clouding her judgement. So when he asked who the second strongest in the team was, Eve had to blink and slow down her pace before turning to him with an intrigued lift of her eyebrow.

"You assume our Commander is the strongest... that's cute... Infact the one with the highest power level is Karas, our biotic armed Engineer. Followed by the Commander, followed by me. However, by vote Korvaiis is our Commander and Urod is his Sub-Commander. The rest of us are equals." Her eyebrows pressed down and she turned once more and continued to a string of buffet style food containers lay awaiting. She got a massive plate and filled it to the brim, almost over flowing. Then wandered to a table and sat down, wordlessly eating it.

Strangely she thought of the dead caress Zarytto had eatten the day before and offered to her. Rustic, probably, but it certaintly smelt better then this food. If only she'd accepted his offer and eatten it... She paused mid mouthful and gulped.

"Even though the Commander is not the strongest, he has an amazing ability to read weaknesses and....and.." here her voice lowered as her eyes widened, "use them...to his advantage..." Her face stunned to the point of actually dropping her fork.

She recalled every word he said to her, in vivid detail, even the chin hold. Who says he couldn't use that same techinque outside of battle? The back turn... what was he trying to accomplish this whole time? To tell Zarytto and her to seperate only to agree for her to find and talk to him...why? Why!

Kentan was actually impressed with this system they had created. Usually it was the strongest with the highest power level that controlled the group. Well from what he had seen that was the case. Having a skilled and more intelligent thinker for a leader was actually in Kenyans opinion the strongest. As long as you were two steps ahead and somewhere close to your opponents level.

Following eve to the mess hall and getting whatever amount he could carry with two hands and three plates. He follows eve and sat down while slowly eating his food and enjoying the small conversation he was having. The food was quite okay. But then eve suddenly seemed to start acting strange when mentioning about the commander. Even dropping her fork in mid sentence. This was getting a bit out of hand and she really needed to get something to punch or something really anything.

He gives out a small sigh before clutching eves shoulder and trying to get her to refocus. "Eve why don't we later have a training session. You need to get some steam off and maybe you can teach me a thing or two. Otherwise....Do you need to speak of a certain matter on your mind? If not please try to calm down, your a grown woman and shouldn't have troubled thoughts repeating in your head."

Raze was awoken in the morning by nothing in particular. He threw on his clothes and went to the mess hall. He spotted Eve and ran over, after quickly getting 4 plates of food.

"Hey Eve... Are you still broken or are you better know. Then he noticed a Saiyan... A very short saiyan at that.

"Who are you" Raze asked.

Kentan suddenly heard another unfamiliar voice and turned to find the saiyan warrior named Raze. He stood up and saluted to Raze with the same stern face. "Names Kentan, I'm the new recruit that was ordered to come in about 10 days ago. Hope that we'll get along." After lowering his hand he looked at Raze for awhile and estimated on several factors and the information he was given on the roster.

Eve's face was emotionless, lost in memories past. In fact she didn't notice a single thing till she felt a hand on her shoulder, shaking her gently back into focus. Her eyes lifted from the now abandoned food before her to look to the new guy with a raised eyebrow. "Training session?...Well I could let you wail on me if you like but..." Sensing his power level without using her scouter she gave him a half smile. "If I even did one kick you'd be close to dead... You'll need to speak to Era about unlocking your Zenkai first..."

She had to admit it was a nice gesture, but the last thing she wanted to do was talk about Zarytto...

Then Raze appeared seemingly out of no where. The new guy introduced himself, and Eve lifted her gaze to look to him. "I'm...alright..." Giving the same half smile she had before. How was she supposed to forget him?... "Sorry I worried you Raze..." Here her eyes lowered once again, sadly.

Eve stared at the food before her, it may as well have been cardboard as she just wasn't hungry or interested anymore. A Saiyan not interested in food was probably the single most sign of something traumtic, all saiyans loved to eat.

Eve slowly pushed her chair away as she stood, peering down to the table's surface. She spoke loud enough so that both Raze and Kentan could hear. "I...am going to go find Karas and bring him here...you can have my breakfast, if you want..." Without looking at both she turned and left, back straight but shoulders seeming to curl more the further away she walked. Once she had rounded the corner, out of eyesight, she put a shaking hand to her mouth as her eyes clenched closed, tears flowing like they had the day before.

She couldn't break infront of them but it seemed like too much for the girl to handle. Everything reminded her of Zarytto, how could she possibly follow on the Commander's orders and forget him? Either way she could not win...forget Zarytto or break Korvaiis's orders... Both were gut wretching for the girl...what purpose did she have now?..

Her hand reached out against the wall, scrapping along its surface to keep herself upright. Stubborn steps pushing forward. She didn't know where she was going till she was there, before Karas's room. She pressed the button to hear the hiss of his door, striding in before half collapsing at the side of his bed on her knees, grasping at his sheets. Tears soaking her cheeks.

"Karas I..." She paused, knowing he must have awoken now, before she placed her head onto his bedsheets. She didn't know what to do, she was lost. But he was smart maybe...he could help..

Notably, Karas wasn't there. Eve entered an empty room. However, a shower could be heard running. The woosh and crinkle of the water leaving the faucet and hitting the floor could be heard from a side room. Karas had decided to relax this morning. He could eat at any time he wanted, really. The mess hall was always open. Really, he just needed some alone time to figure out how the hell he was going to make Black Comedy even more powerful without increasing the robot's physical size. He had shoved quite a lot of ki into that frame, and the larger the ki container and the thicker the pathways, it became more likely an enemy could hit one of those vital areas and destroy it. Even as the warm water hit his body, and as he cleaned himself slowly, his robot arm was hijacking his brain's occipital lobe, a three-dimensional wireframe projection of Comedy, Tragedy, and Black Comedy's schematics, with every part individually labeled down to the screw, floating in front of him. Karas was a very meticulous engineer. Professional and with high standards of quality. He was thinking of alternate internal configurations, and an orange overlay appeared in the spots where he was thinking of changes.

He was so in thought that he didn't even hear Eve walking around outside. He finished his shower two minutes later, and forced the schematics out of his vision. He then put on [iNSERT SAIYAN UNDERWEAR HERE] and walked outside...to see Eve in his bed. He ran to the closet at lightning speed, pressing the button to open the motorized door and then holding it partially open with his superhuman strength to cover himself. "GAH! EVE! What the hell are you doing in my bed!? I have to change...!" Then she noticed the tears in her eyes. Well, this just got awkward...

Eve would notice that his expression changed to one of tenderness, and also, the fact that he was ripped. Granted, EVERYONE on Metahnn looked like hypermuscled roided-out freaks of nature, but that just made almost everyone look attractive, which also helped Saiyans keep their ultra-high birth rate. "Uh...Eve...sorry about yelling at you..." he trailed off, then continued, "But why did you come to see me?"

Eve buried her face into the sheets for a good while till the tears slowly stopped. It was only after some time did she lift her head from the sheets to realise he wasn't even in them! Huh...maybe she missed him and he did go to the mess hall afterall... Of course just as she grasped his sheets to wipe her face, did she sit up, kneeling in his bed holding the sheet close to her body. She heard him yell and her head immediately swung to see the robotic armed saiyan hide behind a closet. She blinked then, innocently.

She went to tell him she wanted to talk but then he sprouted something about needing to change? Whatever was he embarrased fo-...

Eve's eyes widened a fraction. As much as he seemed to try and hide behind the door, his frame was too big for that. Much too big...how did she never notice that before? She assumed because he was always hunched over a desk or inside amechanical part for her to notice....

Well she certaintly noticed now. Her cheeks flustered red as her gaze dropped down to the bed to at least give him some modesty.

"It's Ok I just..." She rubbed her arm softly, giving a gentle sigh outwards. "Zarytto he..." She frowned now and looked further saddened. "Zarytto isn't coming back..."

Karas closed the door, changing into his armor in the cramped space. When he emerged, he once again wore his black bodysuit, white gloves and boots, and blue Saiyan armor. He walked over to the bedside table, taking his Scouter and putting it on his head. As he did so, he sat down on the bed, saying to Eve. "I know about your condition. And because of it, I know why you gravitate towards Zarytto. He's confident enough to lead, if he could just overcome his weaknesses. And because you have a psychological need to be ordered around, you gravitate towards him, specifically because of that confidence, as a substitute for Korvaiis."

"Listen closely, Eve. From what I've read of SAS, which was admittedly through medical popularizers, it's caused by a psychosomatic association between orders and affection. In other words, deep down, you genuinely believe that affection is the concept of being ordered around."

"I'm reasonably certain you intellectually know this, but I'll drill it into your head anyway: orders are not affection. They aren't, and they never will be. When someone orders you to do something, it isn't because they care about you, it's because they want or need something done and they feel you're suited for the task at hand. Affection is a fondness, related more to friendship than anything else. Emotion is an integral part. If someone shows no positive emotion towards you on a regular basis, they probably don't feel affection towards you. Then again, they could also be slow to show it, but orders and affection have nothing to do with one another."

"Korvaiis and Zarytto both weren't showing any affection towards you at all. One is just your commanding officer and the other is merely a loudmouthed prick. Now, I can't just undo years of mental conditioning with a simple speech, so you have to pick up the slack. It's rooted in habit formation, and the best way to fight a habit is by picking up another habit. Something that can give a similar dopamine release in your brain. For example, I have interactive games and stories downloaded to my Scouter thanks to a subspace transceiver I looted from a Borodian spy in the PDC. When I'm bored and want excitement, I load up one of those. Find something to replace your addiction to orders, and you'll find the new habit will quickly take over. You might forget the old one altogether. I'm confident you can recover."

Karas then got up, and headed for the door, pressing the button to open it. "Now, let's get breakfast," he said with a smile.

(@Zuka, you can godmod us back to the table if you want Eve to go there)

Eve waited patiently for Karas to return and when he sat down on the bed beside her, she swung her legs out to dangle, head still partially low. When he said he knew about her condition her eyes naturally flashed angrily. When she found Raze she was gunna round house kick his head in for that...some secret....

Her eyes widened further as he talked about her drawn to Zarytto because of that. "T...That isn't why I'm drawn to Zarytto! I'm not even...I hate him!" Though even as she said it she realised just how much her voice was contradicting herself.

Though his second statement rocked her to her very core. Orders were...not affection? But... then what was? Her whole life had been one instruction to another; one mission, one order, one more thing to do. Even her own parents had done nothing but tell each other what to do...

Every hall she ever walked in with her Father; every academy, the hundreds of soldiers and salutes; That...wasn't affection? Then what was affection? Even the concept of friendship was completely foreign to her, she had never grown up with other kids...

She remembered when Raze had told her when they had first joined they were a family...just what did that mean! Her family was only a gathering of individuals with a common roof, for a common goal.

Another habit? She didn't even realise what she had was a habit! It was normal... wasn't it? She assumed if she had been diagnosed then clearly it was not normal.

"But Karas I'm still perplexed..." She said finally, eyes still plastered to the floor. "You say orders and affection are not the same thing...then...just what is affection?"

Karas stopped by the open door. He had thought that SAS was just a set of wires crossed, an association made between two things that don't go together. But apparently Eve didn't just believe deep down, she actually consciously believed that orders were affection. This was going to take a while. Karas sighed and said, "The more basic the concept, the harder it is to define. I can't tell you what affection really is. However, it's easy to give some examples. A kind greeting. A compliment. A favor. Someone going out of their way to help you. A delicious meal filled with laughter and cheer. A comrade risking their life to save you. After you lose someone close, a friend trying to cheer you up. Someone giving you something for your birthday. An fellow war veteran inviting you to a squadmates' reunion. Or simply spending time with someone and having fun. The examples are endless, but I'm sure you'll be able to recognize the commonalities in these on some level, and you'll be able to recognize it when you see it. I can't put it into words, and if I tried the definition would be overly narrow."

"Now, I'm hungry. How about you...friend?"
