Realistic or Modern DotC High

Winnie curled up in Kilo's arms as he carried her upstairs, feeling defeated and exhausted. She could barely move her arms, and as the reached her room, the thought of standing through a full shower sounded impossible. "Could you draw me a bath?" she asked weakly, her hand reaching up to carefully curl around his dog tags. She looked down at her own, then back at his. This was their connection. He was the north star and she was the one just to the right. It made her feel good to know they were both wearing dog tags. At least she had this little piece of metal to give her strength. "And... and, help me get cleaned up? I... I don't mind I just- I don't think I could do it on my own," she admitted weakly, looking down. She felt ashamed of herself for being so weak, but if she couldn't even stand up for a shower how could she properly wash her hair or her body? "I mean if you don't want to I understand," she added quickly, not wanting to make Kilo feel pressured into anything. "I- well, I'll- I can figure it out." Winnie sighed, resting her cheek against his chest, afraid to look up at him and instead staring at her bathroom door.

Sage felt his heart break for Korren as her voice began to shake. He held her tighter against him, knowing this was hard for her. He understand that Bucky had terrorized her for so many years, so being submerged in it all over again must have been agonizing. "Shh, love, I got you." Sage began to hum quietly, rocking Korren in his arms. "It's okay to be afraid, Korren. He's a scary guy. I'll be honest, it terrifies me to know that he hurt Winnie so easily, and that before her he hurt you so easily. But I'm going to protect you now, okay? I know it's hard to forget what he did but we'll make new, happy memories together and soon there won't be any room for all the bad ones he made. I promise." He kissed her forehead, before continuing to rock her gently, humming once more. Anything to comfort his darling Korren, to take care of her. He kept them like this for quite a bit, before glancing over at the clock and realizing the time. "Do you wanna go home? I can make you some dinner and we can have a nice meal together, light some candles, just relax," he offered.

Kilo nodded to her request, watching her momentarily as she reached for his dog tags. It felt good to know that her mind was on something other than what those evil boys did to her for now. "Of course. Anything for you." It was clear she was ashamed, though he was determined to make sure it what he was doing was going to be completely for the purpose of helping her. He moved in to the bathroom to start her bath. He set her down on the toilet seat. "With how you are right now? I'm not going to leave you like this." Quickly he shifted over to peck her on the lips, before turning on the water. It rushed out, and he tuned the knob so it would be warm water, though not searing hot. It needed to be just right. While the water was running, he looked through the bathroom closet to find shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. He closed the bathroom door behind him, making sure to keep enough privacy. "I will help you clean up, Winnie." He stated it to be to the point, though there were some things he wouldn't do. "You gotta help me though, alright? I'm not going to go touching you in private areas. They're not mine to touch." Kilo spoke rather awkwardly, reaching up to brush a hand through his hair. Never had he done this before. He wasn't going to back down from helping her, though he wasn't going to touch her where she shouldn't be touched. "You deserve respect, doll." Kilo placed his hand over her cheek, thumbing over her cheek bone to make sure she understood that he still loved her and meant what he had said. What those boys did to her was wrong, and she deserved much more than that. "I'm gonna put you in the tub now, alright?" He moved the blanket off of her, helping her remove the t-shirt that hung over her body. Since he was determined to help her, he tried not to focus on what was directly in front of him. He picked her up and lowered her into the water, careful not to drop her.

Korren moved closer as he held on tighter, as if to ground her after slipping into a tragic state of mind. She listened to his voice, hanging on to each and every word. It made her feel as though she was going to cry, and yet she didn't. She nodded to his little speech, nuzzling her head against his shoulder. For a while they rocked and she listened to his hums, calming down to the sound of his voice and firm grip on her, as if him letting go would cause her to fall into her painful reality. "Yea, that sounds nice. Maybe some spaghetti." She whispered, faintly smiling at him. Though she felt bad for entering Winnie's home and leaving so soon, it was stressful for her to be in such a different atmosphere again. It was terrible on her part to enter without a greeting as well, and leaving was just as bad. Though above her courtesies, she did know that Winnie probably didn't want to be bothered by a stranger at that moment, and so she would let her common courtesies slide.

Winnie nodded slowly to let him know she would clean the private areas, sighing in relief as he lowered her in the water. It was warm and comforting, but instead of stretching out she pulled her knees to her chest to hide most of her body, knowing Kilo felt awkward about this. It made her feel bad, to make him take care of her like this. What was she, a child? No. She was almost an adult and yet here she was begging her boyfriend to treat her like a little girl. "I'm sorry," she mumbled, looking down at the water and wrapping her arms around her legs. Her blue hair reflected back at her, along with her broken expression. "You don't have to help me, Kilo. I'll just be a little slow without your help is all. I'm not trying to make you uncomfortable." She didn't dare look him in the eyes, afraid she was doing just that, making him feel awkward. Why did he feel awkward? Because she was damaged. Just some sad excuse for a woman, used and worthless. She'd feel awkward around herself too. Of course, logic said it was just that she wasn't wearing clothes, that Kilo wasn't used to comforting people, but she couldn't look at logic right now. She just felt an ache in her legs and thought about how if logic was worth anything then logically none of this should have happened, people shouldn't have been so cruel.

Winnie slowly looked up at Kilo, her eyes meeting his. She wondered what to say or if she could say anything at all. "Do you know what the worst part is? I keep thinking why me? Why not somebody else? How horrible is that? I'm literally wishing somebody else would have had to endure what I did in my place." She looked back down at the water. She didn't know what else to do with her feelings than talk about them. Maybe talking about something would help keep Kilo from feeling awkward. "I don't know, maybe I deserved it." She rested her chin on her knees. "Maybe this is just payback for all the stupid shit I've done. I've done a lot of stupid things." She closed her eyes, feeling her hair that was in the water tickle her back.

Sage smiled at her. "Spaghetti it is, love." He kissed the tip of her nose, about to get up when Dalton walked into the kitchen, pausing to look at the young couple. For a moment he thought of his own wife, of his own children, but they soon left his mind. "Thank you two for helping out. Winnie didn't really have friends at her old school so I'm glad she has some here. And Kilo, he's a real stand up guy so I'm sure you are too. Thanks for being here for my baby girl when I couldn't be." Sage carefully set Korren down on the chair, getting up to shake Dalton's hand. "No problem, sir, you have a really wonderful daughter and she deserves a stand up guy like Kilo. I'm just happy they have each other." And although he didn't know it at first, Sage was telling the truth. He was honestly glad Kilo had Winnie and Winnie had Kilo. Even if he didn't completely approve of them, everyone deserves someone. "Yeah, well, I am too. You two can come around any time, you hear? A friend of Winnie's is always welcome." Dalton smiled and Sage did too, though he couldn't help but feel bad for what he had done. He made a note to himself to apologize for being such a jerk. Both Kilo and Winnie at least deserved that much.

"Well thank you, sir. If you don't mind though, Korren and I are gonna head out. Have to get my beautiful girl home so she can rest." Dalton chuckled and patted Sage's shoulder once. "Yes you do. Korren, you have a nice night. Thank you for helping out," he called before heading upstairs to go check on Winnie and Kilo.

Sage turned and walked back to Korren, picking her up in his arms and carrying her towards the door. "Come on love, let's get you home," he said, kissing her once more before heading out the door.

Kilo reached for the shampoo, deciding to get her hair first. Before he could do anything he noticed she curled up in to herself. Was he making her uncomfortable? He stopped what he was doing, watching as she avoided eye contact with him. Then she spoke, apologizing for making him of all people uncomfortable. She turned her head to him again, questioning her own thoughts. While she spoke, he took the time to wash her hair, being cautious not to hit any tangles. "This was not payback, nor was it anything you deserved. You don't deserve perverted boys to harm you." He looked her in the eye, not looking away for a second. "Winnie, no one deserves the kind of thing you've gone through today." On that note he continued to clean her back, shoulders, and arms. It was the best he could do for now. At one point he leaned in and kissed her cheek in attempt to break the barrier between them, before proceeding to help clean her. Not once did he want to make it seem like he was angry at her. All he wanted was to help her. "They won't hurt you anymore. I won't allow it." His voice was quiet and mellow, truly showing that he meant what he had said. He was worried for her. They needed to keep her away from the popular kids, even Chloe. For now they didn't need to talk about it, but it would have to be discussed soon.

Korren smiled brightly, cuddling close to him. There were foot steps that approached the kitchen, which caused her to turn her head. It was Winnie's father, who spoke to thank them. She moved to sit down on the seat as Sage got up, smiling at the man out of courtesy. As the conversation went on, she sat there leaning against the back of the chair. She held the bright gesture as Dalton turned to her. "Oh, no problem. You too." Her voice was cheery, something to distract from any of the hell they were going through at the moment. She looked at Sage with a softened smile, giggling as he picked her up. "Okay, let's go." Korren met with the kiss, falling in to it before resting comfortably in his arms. She snuggled against his chest, laying her head against him as they headed off to go home.

Winnie did as much as she could to make it easier for him to clean her, listening to his words as he spoke. She believed in a sense, but in another sense she didn't. Although the one thing she did believe whole heartedly was that Kilo would protect her. She turned to him, rested her hands on his cheeks and pulling him into a sweet kiss, feeling exhausted and worthless, but at least she had him to make her feel better, to make her feel okay. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer against her, no doubt soaking him in the process. She couldn't help it. She wanted him to wash out the bad taste in her mouth those boys left. She wanted to feel Kilo instead of the numb pain. Suddenly she was desperate for him, her fingers tangling in his hair. Part of her thought of getting out of the tub, and using Kilo to wipe away the bad memories- but then the bad memories swarmed her and she stopped kissing him and sunk deeper into the tub, suddenly scared of everything- especially herself. What had she been thinking? What was she doing? It hurt to move her legs, to move her arms, to turn her head. She couldn't be this stupid. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I don't know what I want. I'm so confused. I just... I don't want to remember it. I want it gone but it's not leaving. And all I can think about is the stupid boys and the way they-" her voice got choked up and she went silent, taking a wash cloth and pouring some body wash on it weakly, her fingers shaking as she slowly but surely finished what Kilo had started. She didn't know what to say. She didn't want to talk and yet she did. She wanted to yell and scream but her voice wouldn't work. She wanted to cry even more, she wanted to use Kilo to drown out the other boys but it wasn't working. She wanted to be somebody else. I wish I had been in that car too. She thought, but even as she thought those words she knew they weren't true.

As she finished cleaning herself up she felt her body go numb. But it wasn't in some physical sense where nothing worked, rather it was an odd type of numbness, that took her emotions and sterilized them, made them bounce around her mind but not dare cross over her face. In fact, her expression had gone blank entirely. This had happened to her before, right before her panic attacks first started. She had become a shell, living through the pain for weeks before she was frightened into a panic attack that revived her in a sense, but also plagued her like a disease. She had reached that hollow stage of life, where her own existence felt unreal and she would be unresponsive to anything and everything. It had clicked so quickly, in such a short instant, and yet it wouldn't be as easy to reverse.

Sage smiled, taking Korren out to the car and kissing her once more. "I love you, Korren Csholm." He looked down at her and leaned in, kissing her gently. "And you're cute little giggle," he added, setting her in the passenger seat and allowing his fingers to brush over her sides. He chuckled, walking over to the driver's side and getting in before taking her home. This drive was much slower than the other ones had been. He was in no rush and wanted to savor their time together. He kept one hand intertwined with hers the entire ride, all the way up until he pulled into the driveway of her house. Then he got out and slid over the hood to open the passenger door for her. "Come on, mon amour," he cooed in french, remembering how they switched in and out of it before. He smiled at her, wanting to keep her happy since she seemed so upset earlier.

Kilo held her as she embraced him, gently kissing her back. Carefully he moved his arms around her, making sure not to touch her anywhere that wasn't acceptable. She pushed in further to deepen the kiss, dripping water all over him. It didn't matter, though. What mattered was the moment, though it soon stopped with her pulling away and sinking into the water. He frowned, though not because she pulled away. It was because of what she had said. He placed his hand on her arm, keeping eye contact with her as not to venture his eyes any further. "Winnie, you have nothing to be sorry for. I'm here to help you through this. I know it's hard, and I'm so sorry I wasn't hear sooner. I love you so much." While he spoke, he carefully let the water sink down the drain. The bath was done. He picked her up and set her down on the toilet seat before wrapping her with a towel. There was a noticeable difference to her. She seemed almost unresponsive to anything, looking with a blank expression. He stopped what he was doing. "Winnie?" He knelt down in front of her, grabbing her hands. "Babe, what's goin' on in that beautiful mind?" His hand reached up to brush over her arm, wondering if she would respond. It was worrying to see her in this state, With glossed over eyes and an emotionless gaze. Such lack of expression caused his heart to skip a beat. Has this ever happened before?

While she held her blank gaze he carried her over to bed to sit her down. He pulled out the largest sweatshirt he could find and helped her put it on. "I'm helping you with your clothes, doll. I won't touch you." Kilo reminded her, before proceeding to help her slip on her undergarments and pajama pants. It was painfully awkward, but he had to do it for her since she was in pain. His face was consumed with a color he never thought could appear on his cheeks and ears. He sat down next to her, intertwining their fingers together despite her lack of response. For once the silence killed him. It didn't sit right, not with Winnie by his side. Usually when they were together they could just talk, but something was wrong. He carefully pulled her on to his lap, smoothing her hair down and trying to comfort her in silence. It wasn't as unsettling, though there still was an emptiness to the room.

Korren smiled at him, giggling in between kisses. It was when he placed her down in the passenger seat that she burst into laughter. She squirmed in her seat, moving her hands over her sides protectively. The drive home was slow, but it was nice. She held on to his hand the whole way, watching as the lights zoomed by through the night. It was such a simple sight, and yet it was beautiful. A small light that peaked in the darkness and zoomed by as the car road on.

When the car reaches her home, she smiles at Sage and chuckles as he slid over the front of the car. She took his hand, following him. "Okay, love." Korren looked around for her parents car, seeing that it was gone. Quickly she checked her phone to see that they would be gone for a week. It was such a relief to her. She walked with him to the porch, smiling all the way, before entering the code to the house and opening the door. "They're gone for now." Korren poked her tongue out playfully, smiling brightly. Surely she didn't mean anything by it, only to be happy for the time being.

Winnie was unresponsive. She merely looked past Kilo instead of at him, nodding just once when he put her clothes on and promised that was all he doing. She felt oddly afraid. Not of him but of everything. Though this didn't show on her face. Her expression was frozen into something blank and her eyes were heavily glazed over. As Kilo gently placed her in his lap she rested her palm against his chest to steady herself, though said and did nothing else. She didn't even adjust herself to get more comfortable. She didn't think she'd ever be comfortable.

It was then that Dalton knocked on the door once before walking in. He tried to smile, to look upbeat for Winnie. "Hey sweetie, how are you..." his voice trailed off, noticing her in Kilo's lap. Noticing how unresponsive she was. "Winnie! Winnie, darling. Darling, look at me," Dalton said, feeling terrified for his daughter as he walked over to her, gently setting his hands on her shoulders. "Gwendolyn Calloway you answer me right fucking now!" he snapped, shaking her a bit roughly. Winnie hardly even blinked. "Fuck!" He stood up straight, turning away from her and pacing, his body full of nervous energy. "Winnie please, please, baby girl," he said, turning back towards her suddenly. Nothing. Dalton felt tears in his eyes. "Sweetie I can't... I don't know... god dammit you stupid girl!" He yelled, trying to use his anger to mask his pain. He turned away again, sure he was scaring Kilo. "I'm gonna find those boys and fuck them all up. They'll wish they were never born by the time I'm through with them," he hissed, his hands moving up to his face, to wipe his tears away, before he took a shaky breath and looked back at Kilo and Winnie. "Kilo, I need to talk to you. Winnie, sweetie, I'm going to take Kilo into the hall for a minute, okay baby girl? He'll be right back," Dalton promised, squeezing her hand gently even as she refused to squeeze back, still and somber as ever. Dalton smoothed her hair down cautiously, before moving towards the door, nodding for Kilo to follow.

Sage smiled as she mentioned her parents being gone, before quickly smashing his mouth against hers after she stuck her tongue out at him. He was rough at her first, kissing her with as much passion as he could muster, before picking her up and guiding her legs around his waist. "You silly little duck," he cooed, kissing her sweetly to balance out his rough manner from before. He carried her into her house towards the kitchen, before setting her down on the counter. "I'm gonna make something really good for you, babe. It's going to be the best you've ever had," he promised, winking at her before digging through the fridge to find something to cook for her. "I'm the king of throwing random shit together and making a great meal." He began pulling things out of the fridge, getting ready to cook for her.

Kilo felt worry encroach upon him as she still sat there unresponsive. It was when Dalton walked in and began to badger for a response, for anything. He was horrified at the realization that this was more than just a moment of shock. From the moment of Dalton's hysteria he froze there in disbelief, choked on what little words he had. He clutched on to Winnie, wanting her to snap out of whatever trance she was in. If not for the immense confusion and hatred, he would have been bawling his eyes out. There was a glossy film over them, showing and threatening to tear up. He slowly released her when Dalton told him they needed to talk. Wordlessly he nodded his head and followed Dalton out to the hall, covering his hand over his mouth for a moment. Once he glanced back at her on the walk out of the room, wondering what exactly she was thinking. It was difficult to process what exactly was going on but it terrified him. He ran a shaky hand through his hair, glancing back to Winnie's room. "What's going on? I-I.. she just froze." Kilo paced back and forth in a short distance, stopping only to look for his reply.

Korren was caught by surprise, with widened eyes for a brief moment. Soon though she got use to it, enjoying it. Just when she was thoroughly having a good time, he pulled back and switched the tempo. It confused her, and she left out a heavy breath before replacing it for the next kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck, closing her eyes as she melted in to the sweetness of it all, yet still it had not topped the former kiss. It was hard for her to pull away when she was put down on the counter, though she had to. Patiently she sat there with a wild smile on her face, dazed from the sudden affection she had just received. "That sounds lovely. I'm sure it'll be amazing." She leaned with her elbow touching her thigh and palm holding up her chin. The only thing she could do was watch him work, and would gladly do so. Although when he was turned around, him working wasn't the only thing she was watching. In short and few glances she examined his bum, not able to help herself. She did her best to not make it obvious, though at one point she stared for more than a short glance. Granted, she managed to quickly pull her eye sight away from the view given.

Dalton carefully closed Winnie's door as they stepped outside, looking at Kilo with a deep sigh. "It's not your fault, Kilo. I want you to know that first." Dalton gently guided Kilo away from the door, not wanting Winnie to overhear. "This happened once before, after her parents died. Winnie has gone into a sort of long-term shock." Dalton bit his lip, glancing back at her bedroom, picturing his baby girl as the little fourteen year old girl she had been the first time. She hadn't moved for days except to use the restroom. Dalton had wrapped her in a blanket and held her in his arms the entire time. He'd watch television with her, fix her meals, talk to her, try to treat her normally in hopes she would come out of it. "She was like that for two weeks after they died, and the only thing that snapped her out of it was when I had to go sign some papers on the car and took her with me. When she saw her parent's car she had a panic attack- the first one. It snapped her out of it in the worst way possible, my poor girl."

He took a breath, feeling defeated. "Her therapist says this is something that will always happen to Winnie when traumatic things happen to her. It comes from how horrible her parent's accident was handled. I wasn't very gentle when I told her. I treated her like an adult instead of a kid and it screwed her up real bad. Plus she found some of the crime scene photos. They were pretty gruesome." Dalton paused for a moment to think, before looking directly at Kilo. "When traumatic things happen to Winnie, she will always go into shock. She could go hours, or days, or weeks, or even months stuck in a haze. It's not her fault. There is something psychologically wrong with her, chemicals in her brain that do this to her. Dr. Evans- the therapist- says a number of things could bring her back into action. She also says not to yell and be cruel... like I just was." Dalton ran a hand through his hair, feeling tears in his eyes all over again.

"I didn't want to hurt her, Kilo. She's my little girl. I love her so much and I just want her to be happy and I've gone and fucked her up, haven't I?" He let out a shaky breath, wiping his hands over his face, giving himself a moment of composure. "Anyways, don't listen to me, I'm just an old man stuck in self-pity." Dalton swallowed, finally calming down. "We just have to take care of her. Make sure she eats and drinks well. Stimulate her senses a little. And if you don't mind, maybe you could stay the night. Winnie hates being alone. I don't mind if you stay in her room and hold her, okay? I know you wouldn't do anything, especially not now. Just... leave the door open. Winnie doesn't really like closed doors anyways. Makes her feel lonely." Dalton looked back at the bedroom door again, sighing slowly. He then turned to look Kilo dead in the eye. "I know it hurts you too see her like this, but the reality of it, Kilo, is that Winnie is screwed up. She is never going to heal completely. She will never be better. She will always have panic attacks in bad situations. She will always face this strange type of shock when people are hurt. Really listen to what I'm saying, son. She's never going to get better. I've had this discussion multiple times with Dr. Evans and a thousand other doctors. It won't happen. And while I know this is a lot for you to take in, I need you to do me a favor- don't go back in that room if you can't handle it." Dalton leaned against the wall, exhausted from his lecture. "I won't blame you, and I don't think Winnie will blame you either, but I can't have some boy loving her until it gets hard. So you're either in it for the long haul, medical bills and all, or you can head home. No consequences. Just pick whatever is best for you, son." Dalton patted his shoulder once before starting for the stairs. He needed to make Winnie something to eat anyways, and this way he could see what Kilo chose. If he came downstairs he'd be leaving but if he didn't then he'd be staying.

Sage went to work on the spaghetti, adding a few extra ingredients to make it as good as possible, wanting Korren to have a good meal. Sage had watched his mom cook and tended to help out when he was little, so now he knew his way around a kitchen pretty well. He wasn't as good as Kilo by any means, but his friend had given him a few pointers as well, so he'd say he was certainly good enough to make a few good meals. As he cooked, he couldn't help but glance back at Korren, and noticed she was staring. Sage smirked but didn't say anything, instead going on and pretending he hadn't noticed. It was cute to know Korren admired his looks, though once he found the right moment to embarrass her for it he would take it.

After Sage put the noodles in to cook, and had a the sauce coming to a simmer, he turned to Korren, wrapping his arms around her waist and nuzzling his nose against hers with a grin. "And here I was thinking I was the only one in this relationship for the nice view." He winked at her, chuckling quietly as he kissed her, resting his hands on her hips.

Kilo stopped from pacing, his heart skipping a little more than a beat. He followed Dalton away from the door, listening to every word. It depressed him to see this man cry, especially over Winnie. He leaned his weight against the wall, unable to hold himself up at that moment. The news of the situation hit him hard. Even though he could try to help her, she would never fully be better. The thought dawned on him that she would never be able to fully live a normal life. It choked him up as he moved his hand to cover his face. In no way did he want to cry, not now or ever, and yet it wrenched his heart to know he could only help her to a point. In the midst of his anguish he managed to nod to Dalton, though didn't look him in the eye. He was given a choice: stay or leave. Automatically he chose to stay, since he was ready to do anything he could to help her. His own life was not a priority, though his job was besides Winnie. If he didn't go to work, he wouldn't hold a steady paycheck for his mother. Even so, everything other than the love of his life could wait. Chica and his own mother could hold themselves up. Money could fix someday, and maybe his friends could help him for now, but he needed to stay. When Dalton had gone downstairs, his glossy eyes welled up with the warm water that could sting the cheeks. He wiped at his eyes before they could really water, sniffing a few times. Now that he had a priority, his emotions wouldn't be allowed to overtake him this time.

Once he controlled himself, he stepped back in to the room. A ghost of a smile appeared as he walked over to Winnie, sitting down in front of her. He grabbed her hand, raising it up to kiss the back of it. Then another kiss. Soon he all together kept his lips pressed lightly to her hand, not wanting to be done, and yet he had to stop. "I love you, Winnie. I will do anything to help you, no matter how unpleasant for you it may be." Kilo looked into her eyes, which held a blank stare, something he couldn't get use to. "I'm gonna lay with you, okay? You can tap me if you want me to go." He took his time, picking up Winnie to lay her down. Once she was laid under the sheets, Kilo joined her, pulling the blankets over them. He slowly moved his arm around her shoulder, keeping her close to him. All the light in his eyes faded away, and would be gone so long as Winnie was stuck in this psychological state.

Korren was done examining him, moving her hands to hold herself on the counter when Sage came over, though kept herself slightly leaned forward. She giggled when he nuzzled their noses together, not quite moving her arms anywhere. If she didn't keep herself grounded she felt as if she was going to slip off, which she didn't want to do. What he told her made her blush, especially with the wink following it. Though through the kiss she was helped to loosen up just barely, she still was red in the face. He knew that she was looking at him, there was no way he didn't know. Her heart skipped a beat while his hands laid over her hips. It was casual almost, as if it were natural to do so automatically. The kiss to go along with it was amazing, slow and yet she wanted more. Hesitantly she deepened the kiss after at least one failed attempt, or so it was in her mind. They were completely alone now with no one to chime in and stop them, which both made her nervous and excited at the same time.

As Winnie sat alone she felt her mind swarm with thoughts. Thoughts of Bucky and those boys, images of them all looking over her. Their laughter invaded her ears and words she was sure they had said but hadn't quite heard crowded her thoughts. Look at the little slut. God, she was such a slut. Such a horrible little slut. She had cheated on Kilo because that's what sluts do and that's what she was was. Two cent whore. She wasn't worth anything. She never had been and she never would be. She knew that now- was positive of it. These were the popular kids, after all, and their opinion was all that mattered. But Bucky, Bucky hadn't said anything. He had only stared at her with those beady dark eyes. As she cried he had only smiled a wicked smile. That wicked, unsettling smile was carved into Winnie's mind forever, and it was the image that stuck with her so vividly even as everything else faded away.

It was then Kilo walked in. He looked at her but she didn't look back. Instead she watched the wall, and faintly noticed the way he walked towards her. Soon she was in his arms under the covers, with his sweet offer to tap him if she was uncomfortable. Winnie did no such thing. Instead she breathed in his sweet scent. Just a hint of old spice mixed with sweat. It was earthy and yet it wasn't bad. She liked it, that comfortable scent that she now identified with Kilo. It was home to her, and she cautiously moved her hand to his chest, though she didn't look at him. Instead her fingers curled into the fabric to hold him in place, there with her, and she heard his words from earlier. I love you so much. And though Winnie couldn't smile, she heard his words in her thoughts much louder than anybody else's, and all at once everyone was drowned out. And she could only smell the earthy scent that belonged to Kilo, and only hear his sweet 'I love you's, and only feel his arms around her. Still though, she was not okay, but for now she had him, and she closed her eyes, picturing his lovely smile instead of Bucky's creepy one.

Winnie fell asleep against Kilo, exhausted and abused. In her sleep, though, where feelings were much easier to come out since the shock she was in was less strong in her relaxed state, she cuddled closer to Kilo, her fingers squeezing tighter against the fabric of his shirt, her head resting on his chest, and the faintest hint of a smile on her face, because as long as he was next to her the bad dreams she normally had were not there to face, and even though when she was awake she would be back to her state of shock, asleep she was at peace, and everything was almost normal.

As Korren deepened the kiss, Sage felt himself growing more and more into it, and in a wild surge of testosterone he pushed her down on her back on the counter, though it was not hard for he didn't want to hurt her. he then climbed up on the counter, crawling over her and reconnecting their lips, his forearms resting on either side of her to keep himself from crushing his love as he kissed her passionately. One hand curled into her thick red hair as he kissed her, and he gently guided her head to tilt a bit so he could trail kisses down her neck better, his senses beginning to leave him as time went on. He could feel his arms moving, reaching for fabric to be torn away, almost stuck in a trance, when the sudden scent of burning sauce filled his nostrils and he sat up so fast he fell off the counter, yelping as he landed hard on the ground. "My dinner!" he shrieked, his words a couple octaves higher than normal. as he rushed to save what he could.

Sage quickly dumped the pasta into a strainer and took the sauce off the stove, pouring it into a bowl to make sure everything was alright. He had made a mess in her kitchen, but the food was okay, and he made quick work of putting it all together, trying to calm himself down from the hot make out session as he did so. When he finally had two plates ready to go he set them down on the table, clearing his throat. "It's ready," he mumbled, before heading over to get them both wine glasses and taking some red wine, filling them both halfway. Normally he'd freak out at the thought of Korren drinking, but just half a glass wouldn't hurt anything so he set the glasses down by their plates before pulling her chair out for her to come sit down.

Kilo laid there, trying to contain his despair from her reacting to nothing he had done, though something shocked him. She actually grabbed his shirt. This made his heart skip, forcing a tear down his cheek. He kissed her temple, holding her closer to him. As creepy as it sounded, he watched her fall asleep in his arms, and how she began to smile in her subconscious state of mind. This made him smile, wiping away excess tears. Just to know that she could smile, even if it was subconsciously, helped his state of mind. Still he stayed awake, but was awake knowing that she was a peace.

After an hour he became restless, being careful to move her so she wouldn't wake. The last thing he wanted was for her to wake with him missing. From the stress of the night he so desperately needed to drown out the thoughts in his head. He opened the window to the outside, looking around at the pitch black night. There was roofing underneath, and so he crawled out and sat down. For the few minutes that he took his break, he took a deep breath and looked out into the warped darkness of the world. Only street lamps lit up the area, while houses all turned off their lights to go to bed. It was partially chilly outside, though he didn't mind. The scenery was enough to give him a break and stop thinking for a minute, to just blankly look out on the world and not have to think anything.
This lasted for a few minutes, which seemed like hours, before he finally decided to climb back inside and shut the window. There was a certain peace to him, though, after drowning out his emotions and feeling absolutely nothing. He climbed back into bed with Winnie, laying there with her in his arms. His gaze wandered to the ceiling as thoughts barraged his mind, floating around in jumbled parts of his mind. There was no way he could sleep, so therefore he didn't.

Korren felt herself being pushed back, with the intensity of the situation spiking up. She was quickly met again with him covering over her pressing things further than she had intended. Even so, she liked it. Her breathing became thicker and quicker in between kisses, especially when he moved to her neck. Her body reacted positively, though her subconscious had not. The grip on her hair made her nervous, unsure of if he would tug on it for a moment. Although she knew better, her nerves caused her to slightly tense up. It brought up past anxieties, making her start to feel anxious with being kept down under him on the counter. Thankfully and yet awfully, the smell of burning sauce entered the room, which queued Sage to scramble off of her. She tried her best to calm herself from two separate feelings, which both made her heart feel heavy and her stomach light as a feather. For a minute she laid there, allowing her heart beat to slow down before she sat up. Some stray strands of hair were messy and fell over her face. She brushed them behind her hair, moving her mass of hair to lay against her back.

When the food was ready, she sufficiently regained her composure, letting out a deep breath before she eased herself down from the counter. As he was grabbing the glasses of wine, she started to walk over to the table, smiling as he pulled out her chair. She sat down, picking up her fork to eat. Out of habit she placed a napkin over her lap before beginning to eat, taking casual sips every now and then of her wine. Meanwhile, she was stuck in her own mind. It dawned on her from so many times that they've had intimate relations, they had not truly had one on one conversations. This fact bothered her. Even though she knew Sage was not one for talking much, they should have at least discussed more to become mentally closer, rather than physically. She paused from eating, finishing up whatever she was chewing before speaking up. "Sage," Korren looked up at him, placing her fork down. Half of her glass of wine was gone by then, though it hadn't effected her. "We need to talk." For a moment she thought of how that sounded, before quickly elaborating. "Talk more, I mean. I just... I don't know. I don't know how to articulate it. I just feel like we need to talk more about our lives. We can skip the bad stuff, though, if it's too difficult a subject." While she spoke she twirled her fork in her spaghetti, glancing down once or twice before holding her gaze again. Without communication there was no way any of it was going to work out, no matter how fun it was to be together or how right it felt. If they didn't talk, she never would get out of that awkward stage in the relationship, where she would be at a loss for words.

As Kilo left Winnie's side, she whimpered slightly in her sleep, curling into a tighter ball, the hand that had been squeezed into his shirt grabbed desperately onto the pillow as her dreams played out so nicely, before darkness began to overtake them. It was all a crawl from the edges, slow and steady, threatening, even more terrifying perhaps than what would actually happy. Yet trapped in an exhausted state, Winnie could not wake up and vanquish these dark veins pumping into her dream, and so she was left in a tight ball, twitching slightly until Kilo came back. As his arms wrapped around her her body visibly relaxed and her hand found its way to his shirt once more, clinging onto him as if the only chance she had at waking up was by being anchored to her rock. Still though, the dark veins withdrew and her rest became more sound and that ghost of a smile came back as her body moved closer, cuddling in her sleep, safe in Kilo's arm for he was her protector, her guardian angel, and he always would be.

As Korren insisted they needed to talk, Sage sat down and his heart dropped. She was breaking up with him already. So soon. Had he kissed her too hard? Was he making her uncomfortable? Would she kick him out now and demand he never see her again? His thoughts were flying so fast, his fears so prominent, that he almost missed her explanation. His dark eyes suddenly focused on her though and he listened as she explained how they needed to talk more. This puzzled him, to say the least. The last true girlfriend Sage had had was Chloe, but that was over two years ago. He didn't quite remember how a real relationship worked anymore. Most of his one night stands talked his ear off about themselves but he never bothered to explain his own life. What was there to know, anyways? Nothing important.

"Talk," he finally said, his voice quiet as he looked down at the meal before them. "I... I haven't known someone actually interested in talking to me for a long time," he mumbled, more to himself though he was sure Korren could hear him. he drank down his wine glass and filled it up again, staring at the dark red liquid to think. "Well what do you want to know?" he finally asked, looking up at her expectantly. "I'll tell you anything, love. I don't want you to think I'm only in it for something dumb like your body. That's not it. I know you. I know you're smart and shy and awkward. I know you want to go to Harvard, I know you have the most hilarious music taste when compared to who you are. I know you're hardworking and I know it's hard for you sometimes to deal with me and my hormones because I can see it and I'm trying. I know you, I swear, I'm not stuck in this relationship just for a fun time with some girl I don't know," he insisted, a bit frantic and a bit scared. He'd hate for Korren to think he only thought of her as some quick lay. He didn't. He knew she was so much than that. "And I'll tell you anything you wanna know," he repeated, nervous and continuously twisting his spaghetti on his fork, too scared to take the bite.

Kilo noticed the difference when he was gone versus when he laid with her, which changed exponentially. Quite literally he could not leave her side, otherwise she locked up and would be unhappy. This saddened him. Not because he had to stay by her side, but because she locked up without him there. He moved her to be on top of him, placing the blanket over the both of them. Now that she was over him, he relaxed against the bed, though not fully. He looked at her then up at the ceiling, wondering how his friends would do without him. Surely they would be fine, but he was worried about Winsley. Surely Patch couldn't be there for her every day, though that was put in to question. He pulled out his phone, sending a message to all of his friends except Winsley, knowing that she hated to be babied or treated like she was being babysat. Hey, gotta make sure to take care of Brit, and my mother. I'll be unavailable. Kilo sighed, placing his phone down on the bed space next to him. Hopefully they would understand that he wouldn't be available for god knows how long. Without a doubt it would be foolish to leave, so he'd have to compromise to asking for help from his friends. For now though, he held Winnie in his arms, feeling useless since he could do nothing but sit there and hold her, to cherish her. He wanted to do so much more than just cherish her. He wanted to talk with her, laugh with her, smile with her. What he wanted was to see eye to eye with her, to kiss her knowing she saw him and smiled or laughed. It wouldn't even matter at this point if she was laughing at him. Anything would do.

Korren picked up her fork again, taking a bite from her spaghetti as she awaited his reply. He seemed nervous, and said that no girl really did want to know him. This shook her, frowning slightly at such a fact, yet still listened to him. He was so insistent on doing things right for her, and making her understand what this was or could be bettered to be. She reached for his hand, ending up placing her hand on his arm, and smiled softly at him. "I didn't think those things for a moment." Korren reassured before continuing on. "I just want to know more about my strong, loving, and amazing boyfriend. You can tell me anything you want. Personal interests, emotions, past jobs, favorite bands, anything." She took a drink of her wine, setting it aside as she looked at him. The wine was good, and tasted rich with flavor. It was her favorite type of wine, and she usually had it with fancier meals. Now she got to share this with Sage, who seemed to finally speak up and be able to just talk on his own. They would become more than just a kissing couple, and instead they would truly love for each other for a long time.

Hours ticked by as Winnie slept, and it was well into the night before she began to stir from the beginnings of a nightmare, blinking her eyes open rapidly and looking up at Kilo. She faltered for a moment, and fear flashed through her eyes as she sat up quickly, looking around her room for any of those boys, pushing herself close against Kilo, her hand grabbing onto his wrist, her fingernails digging into his flesh so harshly they drew blood. A slight whimper fell from her mouth though no other sound, and once she had peered around enough to know those boys weren't there, she let out a heavy breath, laying back on the bed though forgetting about her grip on Kilo, her nails still digging into his flesh though they didn't go any deeper as she stared up at the ceiling, the fear fading into a dull pain, but soon even that pain would disappear into a hollow life.

Sage felt a bit of relief wash over him as Korren took his hand and assured him she knew he had never been in the relationship for material reasons, though he was still a bit perplexed by the idea of someone wanting to know him. He went quiet for a long time, trying to think of what he could talk about. There was so many things roaming around in his mind but none of it seemed important enough. "Well, I guess if you really wanna know me I should start from the beginning, yeah?" He blew out a breath, thinking back as far as he could, trying to pull out the most important stories. Finally, he breathed in and began to tell her some about himself. He told her about Kilo first, about how they met and how both their lives had been changed, before moving past a good chunk of his life to tell her about middle school, about all his extra curricular activities.

At one point he had played baseball, had tried wrestling and found he was horrible at it, had tried out and not made the freshmen football team for high school. He told her about when he first found out about Rose, how close they had been, how far apart they were now. He told her about Winsley's and his silly antics, his petty thefts to help Lift and Kilo out, his handful of oddball jobs, his music tastes and how much it saved him from himself. He told her all he could about himself, and found once he began he just couldn't stop. It was enjoyable, it was heartbreaking, it was interesting, to talk about himself so much. He told her about Chloe too, about how they had dated, how she had left him based off a rumor. "But I never cheated, you know. I never would do such a stupid thing. So if you ever hear any bullshit like that, don't believe it. Because the most important thing I want you to know about me is that I'm in love with you Korren, and only you, and you're all I want for the rest of my life." He took her hand and kissed the back of it, squeezing it gently with a soft smile on his face.

Kilo laid there for hours to come, holding on to her and watching over her. After a while he began to doze off, though was snapped awake. He noticed Winnie was waking, so he had to stay awake for her. She grabbed his wrist and squeezed down, drawing blood. This caused him to jolt out of surprise, sucking in a breath. She still clamped down, which stung. He mouthed a curse, though didn't vocalize it. Eventually she would let go, she had to. Instead, he tapped her with his other hand. "Winnie, uhm..." He looked right at her, with a half smile, faked of course, which dropped. It was so hard not to move her off on his own, to tell it to her straight how he felt, or how much pain he was in. His wrist had been tensed, filling with droplets of blood. He look at his wrist, then back up at her as a signal. There was a pained look in his eye, though it was dulled down for her sake.

Korren watched him for the long time with curiosity. She placed a hand under her chin, listening to his stories, ones about his friends and life itself. Every now and then she nodded, smiling all the while. Admittedly she loved to listen to stories, and was never much of a story teller on her own. She frowned slightly at how he and his sister became so distant, and only hoped that she could help fix that. Every bit of his story she listened, mostly with a smile though at times her expression neutralized. His story about Chloe made sense to her, and she wished that she could have warned him about her, though it was far too late. That girl had no heart, and it was put in question as to if she even had a soul.

She smiled at how he ended the topic, gleaming with joy from his commitment. Surely it would have been much to say he loved her for the rest of his life, but that didn't matter. She squeezed his hand back, looking into his eyes. "And I want you here with me, because I love you so much." Korren picked up her glass, in a way raising it to him before taking a drink. Since there was not much left she drank the rest before putting the glass down. For the longest moment she just looked at him with a smile, unable to say anything. There were no words that needed to be said. Instead of sitting there across from him in awkward silence, she decided to bring him to a more comfortable spot. She crossed over to his side of the table and grabbed his hands, pulling him to the couch. Once sitting down she turned her body to face him, crossing her legs as they sat there. "You know, about the bands..." And from there she talked, since one or two of the bands she knew about. She liked to discuss the sound of them, the style, and most of all the songs. With her excitement of the subject she moved her arms, making motions with certain words. She liked conversing with him, it felt natural. With anyone else her speaking felt forced, but not with him. At one point the conversation took a pause, with her pulling up one of her favorite songs. When she played it, she couldn't help but to slightly move to the lyrics, mouthing the words that recited in her head. In the middle of it she blushed, stopping out of shyness. She brushed a few hairs out of her face, clearing her throat. "Uhm, so yea.." It sounded stupid to only say these select few words, but what else could she have said? She felt like she had been talking a bit much, and decided to stop chewing his ear off with an unimportant topic. Her eyes moved to look down at the couch, then back up to him. She reached for his hands again, holding on to them. Surely she was more relaxed than she ever had been tonight, though held reserve to continuing such a silly topic. Here she was talking about music when there were far more important things to discuss.
The song she was playing had finished, ending off on a good note before the room went briefly silent.

Winnie looked over at Kilo as she turned to him, noticing the pain swimming in his eyes. She glanced down at his arm as he did so and noticed the blood, the way her nails were digging into him. Her hand instantly let go, and she struggled to apologize yet no words came out. She wanted to say sorry but her vocal cords weren't working with her, and so she pulled her hand to her chest, looking at his blood on her fingertips. She had hurt him. She had hurt the one thing that protected her through it all. She sat up slowly, pulling her knees to her chest, moving away from him, feeling like a horrible creature from some sort of nightmare to have drawn blood from the man she loved. How could she do such a thing? Yet her thought process was not on her face, for it still held that blank expression. Though her purple eyes glossed over, obviously on the verge of tears that would never fall.

Sage smiled at her as he was brought over to the couch, listening intently to everything she said. He loved to hear her voice, to hear her talk when she was excited. It made him chuckle a little to himself to see how devoted she was to her bands, and he nodded along encouragingly, hanging onto her every word. Every now and then he'd make a small interjection in agreement, or mention how he liked the band to. Her music taste was quite impressive considering it was similar to his, and he couldn't help but feel closer to her as she talked. She was right, this communication thing really was nice. He wished they would have talked like this sooner, but it was also nice to know they had so much to learn about each other.

As she began to sing quietly and sway he couldn't help but stare in admiration at the beautiful way she moved, at how in tune to the music she truly was. She was so amazing, and watching her movements was intoxicating, even if it was just a small sway. As she grew embarrassed though, and stopped talking, Sage squeezed her hands. "Love, you can go on forever about your music taste. I love listening to you talk about things you like," he cooed, kissing her gently before pulling back to nuzzle his nose against hers with a grin.

Kilo let out a breath when she let go, shutting his eyes only for a moment. The pain subsided, though the blood still dripped down his arm. This was enough to keep him awake, knowing now that he had a minor injury. He looked up at Winnie, only to see her shrinking away from him. A frown riddled his expression, with his brows arching. For a moment he left her there, though knew it was a mistake to leave her to her own thoughts. It was clear that her eyes were glossing over, threatening to shed tears. His heart dropped, and he immediately moved to comfort her. "Hey, it's okay, Winnie." Kilo whispered, moving to sit in front of her. He placed his hand on her arm, moving up to tilt her chin up, just so he could look at her. "I'll be alright, doll. You did nothing wrong." He gave it a moment of silence, before moving slightly closer. With the brush of his hand he moved her hair away from her face, kissing her forehead. After that he then grabbed her hand, holding it in his ever so lightly. There was blood on her fingertips, which smeared onto his hand just as it did on his wrist. "I'm gonna get a towel, okay? I'll only be gone for less than a minute, I promise."

He then kissed her forehead once more before rushing off into the bathroom, searching for a towel and pouring warmer water on it. Under the sink there were larger bandages, which he grabbed and brought them with him. He placed them on the bed, and sat back down in front of her with the towel in his hand. The first thing he did was gingerly clean off her fingers that had blood on them, before proceeding to wipe off blood from his wrist. Then, he peeled off wrappers from the bandaging and placed the bandages over the wound. Once he was done he carried out the wrappers to the nearest trash can, returning by her side once more.
His expression was neutral, though his thoughts were rather glum. Would she ever come out of this coma that she was awake to see? He attempted a ghostly smile, though it quickly faded. "You could never hurt me, you know that, Winnie?" There was a pause with silence, as if she could have answered, though he knew she couldn't. "The only thing that hurts me is to see you hurting, and that's not your fault." Subconsciously he moved to lean against the bed frame, picking her up and placing her into his lap all the while. It helped him feel comforted, and only hoped it would help her as well.

Korren looked into his eyes with a bright smile. She shrugged her shoulders as he spoke, happy that he understood yet couldn't continue to talk about the subject at hand now that her rant was over. Her mind was drawn to a blank at that moment, though at least the gentle kiss helped her through it. She giggled when he nuzzled noses with her, with her nose crinkled all the while. Her hands squeezed his back, leaning in to kiss him the same way that he had kissed her. It was gentle and sweet, with one hand placed on his cheek. After a long moment, she pulled back and placed her forehead against his. "I love you, Greaser."

Winnie watched as Kilo cleaned her hand off before doctoring himself. His words flooded into her mind as he pulled her into his lap, and she curled up against him, rested her head on his chest and the palm of her hand against his heart, feeling it's beat. Silence. It was consuming in a horrible kind of way, and she squeezed her eyes shut. Only as she did this, she saw Bucky's wicked smile, and so her eyes opened and she stared at the wall.

Her door creaked open, but she didn't look, and Bronze walked in. The scent of alcohol covered him, though he had an anguished look on his face as he looked at Winnie. "Dalton told me what happened to Vet," he said. Winnie heard the nickname, and her eyes darkened. She turned to look at the floor, hating that nickname but unable to do anything about it. "Didn't realize he was allowing you to stick around and do the same to her," he hissed, his words going from casual to icy. He walked over towards them, glaring heatedly at Kilo. "Winnie, come on, you can sleep in my room." Bronze grabbed Winnie's wrist and pulled her roughly off Kilo's lap and onto her feet. She stumbled and fell to her knees, but Bronze pulled her up. It was all happening so fast. She stopped breathing entirely as Bronze began to pull her away from her anchor. "I'm not letting her sleep next to some stupid boy who would probably fuck her with or without her fucked up mind." Being drunk, his words were harsh, his movements were harsh, and his grip on Winnie hurt. Her mouth opened and the smallest whine fell from her throat, almost imperceptible. Bronze certainly didn't notice.

Sage fell into the kiss, loving every moment of it. As Korren pulled away he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed, though her words made him smile. "I love you, too, Cherry Pop, with all my heart." He kept their foreheads pressed against one another's, thinking about all he had learned about his love. All the music she liked gave him an idea- a horribly amazing idea. He smiled suddenly, sitting back. "Hey Korren, I have a surprise for you," he cooed, his hand moving to rest against her cheek. "So why don't you close your eyes for me and give me a few minutes? When you hear the music you can open them up." He gave her a quick kiss and without another word darted up the stairs.

Sage snuck into her parent's room, figuring he could find a suit in her father's closet- he was right. He moved to put it on quickly, struggling for a moment with the tie. He had to google a quick tutorial on tying them but quickly figured it out, and after he was dressed up from head to toe, he went back to the top of the stairs, though he didn't start going down just yet. He first pulled up a playlist on his phone that he was used to dancing too, but didn't play it just yet.
"Are your eyes closed?" he called out, wanting to make sure this would be a complete surprise.

Kilo held her close, shutting his eyes as he held on to her and her to him. His grip on her was firm and yet comforting, knowing that she needed him to be her protector. When the door opened, his eyes opened and moved up to see her brother of all people. He glared at the boy when he called her that awful nickname. Protectively he held Winnie tighter, though this did not help a thing. Bronze had yanked her out of his grip, which set Kilo off. The words that he spat were the last straw, sending him off of the bed and at Bronze. Without a thought he grabbed Bronze's wrist and squeezed it with one hand, before landing a punch against his face full force. "Maybe that'll sober you up," He spat, making sure to pick up Winnie before she could crumble back down to the ground. "If Dalton let me stay, he knows I wouldn't dare touch her, not in that way. Nor would I ever hurt her like you did just now, but I'm sure you're too caught up in drinking to notice." As he spoke, he moved to set Winnie down on the bed, placing a kiss on her forehead. Instead of moving back to finish the job, he stayed there by her side. "And don't call her Vet. She deserves more respect than that, and if you can't manage that than leave." His voice was tough as nails, unwavering to the fact that Winnie was hurt and he needed to protect her, even if his anger was fueled. He took in a deep breath in attempt to calm himself down.

His hand moved to cup her chin, grazing a finger over her cheek. "I'm sorry, love. I'll be back." Kilo whispered, not wanting to intimidate her after what had just happened. He placed yet another kiss on her forehead before turning back to Bronze with a fire in his eyes. Surely Winnie would not need to see this, so he decided to take it outside. He walked up to Bronze, grabbing him by the color and dragging him out of the room to settle the dispute.

Korren smiled back, wondering as to what the surprise was. Her brows arched in a questioning manner. Why would he be playing music? What was the surprise? "Ooookayy," She rolled her eyes, watching slightly as he darted off to the stairs. Her hands moved over her eyes, cupping over the closed eyelids just to make sure she wasn't peaking, even though she was. Every now and again she peaked through her fingers, curious of what surprise he could have possibly had for her. When his voice called out, she quickly closed her eyes and kept her palms over her face. "Yes, I can't see a thing." She called out, moving her hands only so her voice could be clear enough. "What are you doing?" Korren asked out of pure curiosity, though she knew she would find out soon enough. The anticipation gave her a fluttery feeling in her stomach, excited and nervous all at once. If she waited any more she would peak at any moment, wanting to find out what was going on.

Bronze was completely and utterly caught off guard by the dance. It sent him stumbling into the wall, and as he let go of Winnie she began to crumple before kilo caught her and set her on the bed. Bronze struggled to regain his composure. His mind wobbled around since his drunk state hurt his abilities and he looked towards Kilo as he spoke though he barely understood the words. It wasn't until he was beginning to be dragged out of Winnie's room that many pieces started coming together. Without much warning, Bronze grabbed Kilo's hair and slammed his head against Winnie's door frame, not bothering to care if Winnie saw the violence or not.

She did, and she even thought back to when Sage had pulled a similar move on Kilo, and she grew terrified. Even as they moved past the doorframe she moved to stand, to stop this, but the pain she experienced was too much and she crumpled once more, watching helplessly as Bronze pulled his fist back to punch Kilo in the gut. She squeezed her eyes shut, she wanted to scream, to yell, to beg and plead for it all to stop, but all she could do was sit on the floor, her eyes closed so she wouldn't see the violence. Though even though she couldn't see it, she could still see Bucky and his wick smile, and the boys that towered over her and called her worthless, said she deserved it, told her this was the best she was ever going to get, and tears started falling down their faces. She could see them through her closed eyes, picture exactly the way they hurt her from her drugged perspective, and it hurt so bad, but not as bad as seeing Kilo get hurt, and so she kept her eyes closed.

Sage began to saunter down the stairs, smiling when he saw Korren with her eyes covered. He moved in front of her, his hand moving to covered over both of hers so she wouldn't peek as he leaned forward and kissed her softly. ""Not yet," he whispered in a sultry voice before moving to stand on the coffee table. He set his phone down on it and pressed play on the music before standing up a bit straighter, beginning to sway to music in the most sexual way possible, waiting for Korren's eyes to open so he could start taking everything off.

Kilo felt his hair being grabbed, and immediately was slammed into the door frame. He could almost see stars, with his vision blurring out. Such a blow was only done once before by Sage, and it made him furious. He turned around to face the drunken man, to retaliate, though he was then socked in the gut. In response he stumble to his knees with his arm circling his stomach. He tried to get back to his feet by grabbing hold of Bronze's shirt, though since he was failing to stand he could only think of one other thing to do. Without hesitation he managed to stand for a moment, just enough to tackle the drunk to the ground. He went to punch him in the gut, sloppily landing the rough punch. Kilo kept his defenses up, making sure that if bad turned to worse he could defend himself.

Korren heard the foot steps, wondering as to when she could open her eyes. As if her question was answered, she felt his hands over hers, and a soft kiss. She giggled after, hearing his voice whispered out. There was more moving around, which made her wonder what on earth he was doing. When the music began to play, she slowly pulled her hands away from her eyes, opening her eyelids to see the display in front of her. He was dressed nicely in a tuxedo, standing on top of the coffee table. What he was doing caught her off guard, and she didn't know how to react. A surprised look on her face spread from her eyes to her unhinged jaw, while a faltered nervous squeak escaped her lips. Immediately her hands went over her mouth, yet she could not stop herself from staring. With the way he presented himself, who could blame her? The beginnings of blush began to tingle on her cheeks at just the thought of where this was headed.

As Bronze was tackled he yelped, hitting the ground roughly. A thud rang out and his vision blurred. For a minute, his senses were all jumbled and confused, though it slowly began to fade into reality. Though just as he began to regain his bearings, Kilo's fist rammed into his stomach. Bronze let out a weak yelled, his hand instinctively moving up to punch Kilo in the face, to protect himself, as his other hand moved to hold his stomach. He scrambled out from under Kilo, holding himself up on all fours as something stirred within him and he soon lost the contents of everything he'd drank that night.

Dalton came rushing out of his room not long after. The ruckus had woken him up and he found himself staring in awe at Bronze and Kilo on the floor, Bronze making a mess of the carpet while Kilo didn't look so good either. He glanced into Winnie's room, noticing she was on the ground crying, and this perhaps made him the angriest. His little girl was supposed to be a priority, but Bronze- he was sure- had somehow pulled Kilo's focus.

"Both of you stupid fucking boys downstairs now!" he snarled, glaring at the both of them. He didn't know who's fault it was but he didn't care much at that point. "And Bronze, clean your fucking mess up or you don't have to live here anymore," he added harshly, before stepping past both boys and heading over to Winnie. He picked her up and hugged her tight. "Shh, baby girl, it's okay. Those silly boys are done fighting. Kilo is going to back up here soon, I-"

"The fuck he will! He's just dating Winnie to fuck her! What other reason would there be?" Bronze hissed from the floor, and Dalton turned to glare at him. "You sister has plenty of talents that are worthy of a boy's love. Go get the carpet shampooer you worthless excuse for a son," Dalton snapped. Winnie cried harder. Dalton hugged her tighter. This was his daughter stuck in a hollow shell- only it wasn't hollow, it was full of pain. Pain from those boys and pain from her own brother. 'Well I don't want him sleeping in the same room as her!" Bronze insisted. "Nobody's going to fuck with my sister!"

"Bronze, if you fucking cuss one more time I'll shove a bar of soap down your throat. Now go clean up your mess." Dalton's voice went deadly calm, and it was then that Bronze's eyes widened in fear, and he quickly got to his feet to comply with his surrogate father's wishes, terrified of the repercussions if he didn't. Dalton only ever got calm when he was about to do something drastic, and Bronze most definitely did not want to be around for it. Dalton turned to Kilo then with a heavy sigh. "I'm sorry kid, I know you didn't start this," he muttered, before carrying Winnie to her bed and laying her down. He tucked his daughter in and sat on the edge of the bed, squeezing her hand gently. "Sweetie, I know Bronze is being mean, but I also know he does love you and he does want to help... he just... he did something stupid and he can't get out of that cycle. I'm sorry, Baby Girl, you deserve so much better. I need to talk to the boys, and then Kilo will come back up, I promise." Dalton kissed the top of her head, sad that she wasn't responding but to cry. No nod or shake, just a blank stare of tears, yet still he left her, knowing he needed to have a talk with Kilo and Bronze.

Sage Slowly stepped off the table to the beat of the music, winking at her as he loosened up his , pulling it off and swinging it over his head before wrapping it around her so that he pulled her closer, his body close as it swayed to the music, his lips almost brushing hers, before he abruptly spun around, swaying his hips better than most people could. He'd had some practice before though. As he was facing the wall, he slowly shrugged off the jacket, letting it fall off before tossing it across the room and turning back to Korren, his hands finding hers and gently placing them near the top button of his shirt. "This is an interactive strip tease. You get to do some of the work too." He winked at her, hoping she'd take the bait as he held her wrist in place gently.

Kilo felt a hard punch land against his face, causing him to fall over on his side with a yelp. It was then that the fight was over, ending in the two boys laying on the ground, one of which was retching and the other laying sprawled out on the floor. A few times he coughed, holding on to his stomach with a groan filling the air. He was seeing stars and blacking out all at once. Dalton had come out, which he turned his head to see him. His vision swayed in and out of focus, noticing the scenery change every time he blinked. Voices were slurred, though he managed to hear the command that he was given. He did what he was told, though had trouble standing. Just as he moved to stand, he stumbled with his legs threatening to give away. A whole argument unfolded in front of him, blurred together. All he could see through it all was Winnie, and she was crying. He felt regret from seeing her sobbing, seeing her worse off than before, all because him and Bronze couldn't agree on something as important as her safety.

It was when Dalton turned to speak to him again that he had recovered a little more from the fight, though his stomach did not settle from it. He nodded his head once, gripping the rail to the stairs as he stumbled down the stairs. There was blood in his mouth, he noticed now, and could taste it. During the fight he bit his tongue without noticing until now. Such a fumble would leave a bruise on him for sure, but for now he worried about getting downstairs. It was best that Winnie didn't see him in the state he was, whether it was physically or mentally. When he reached the last step, he wobbled on his feet, only moving forward to the couch, since it was the closest seat he could reach. He sat down, leaning his elbows against his knees with his head in his hands.

Korren watched him the whole way through, turning her head only when he wrapped her with his tie, pulling her dangerously close. Out of instinct she moved her hands away, moving to stabilize herself or him by reaching for his arms. Her hands levitated in between the both of them when he brushed lips with hers, swaying his hips to the beat. Her hands retracted, placing against her chest. At this point her face was consumed with red, matching the surprise that stuck to her risen brows. Everything he did was oddly attractive, pulling her to keep watching. She felt a tug at her hands, and realized by what he said that she had to participate. If her face wasn't completely red by then, it surely was now. Carefully she started unbuttoning the shirt, growing a little more nervous as her hands traveled down to each button. Her nerves made it difficult to finish unbuttoning, reaching to the very last button. She tried her best to quickly take apart the button, before moving her hands away. All she could do was look up at his face, with her peripheral viewing his chest and torso helplessly, though she tried her best to keep away from looking anywhere lower. This was really happening, and exciting as it was, she was extremely nervous. Out of awkwardness she barely shrugged her shoulders, clamping her lips together. It was even harder than it felt like it would be to look him in the eye while he did this, not because she didn't like it but because it was going to be overwhelming, though in the best way.

Dalton got a first aid kit as Bronze hauled the carpet cleaner and the paper towel roll upstairs. He walked over to Kilo, sitting on the coffee table across from him and tilting his chin up, examining him closely. There was a bit of blood at the corner of his mouth though he was sure that was internal. "You okay, son? I'm really sorry about Bronze. I think he wants to do the right thing, he just doesn't know how to and it all comes out wrong," he said, before getting up to get Kilo an ice pack. He brought it back, offering it to him before looking up towards the stairs, hearing the vacuum turn on for a time. "He used to be her protector, you know. He used to really take care of her. I don't know what happened." He shook his head, sighing deeply before looking back at Kilo.

Bronze had just finished cleaning up his mess and went to wash his hands before walking back past Winnie's room. He hesitated, glancing down the steps once before heading into her room. He sat on the edge of her bed, taking her hand in his own. "I'm sorry, Win," he mumbled, squeezing her hand gently. "I... I don't want you to get hurt. Come sleep in my room. You can take the bed. It'll be safer, won't it? More comfortable than sleeping next to some dumb boy?" he pleaded weakly. Winnie turned to Bronze, squeezing his hand weakly before letting her fingers spread out, her hold on him breaking. She wanted to be with Kilo, not her alcoholic brother who did more harm than good. He bit his lip, turning away from her. "Fine," he hissed. "Fine, let yourself get hurt again. See if I care. You always do this, you know. You get all sad and pissy and then you cling to the first guy with a dick and then he hurts you and you come wailing back to me, your poor fucking brother who never gets any sleep because of you." He stood and Winnie closed her eyes. Though he didn't go downstairs first, but instead went into Dalton's room.

Dalton was wondering what took Bronze so long, and was about to go up to check on him, when he started down the steps. Dalton noticed something quite off about the way Bronze walked, the way he moved, and rose an eyebrow in question at his son as he stopped at the edge of the stairs. "I know you don't care about me," he said, "And I know Winnie doesn't either." Suddenly, Dalton's pistol floated into view. "Ambrose put that down! That's not true!" Dalton rushed towards him and suddenly the gun was aimed at him. Dalton froze. "Don't come any closer! I know I'm a pathetic excuse for a son and a brother," he spat. "And you," he turned to Kilo with such hatred in his eyes it was unfathomable. "You stole her. You're just going to hurt her but she never listens to me!" Bronze suddenly turned the gun on himself, stuffing it in his mouth and pulling the trigger. Click. No boom. He took it out, "What the fu-" Dalton rushed Bronze, yanking the gun out of his hand. "You stupid, stupid boy! I don't ever load this because of you and your stupid antics." Dalton threw the gun aside and pulled Bronze into a hug. He fought for a moment, before collapsing against his father, feeling weak and tired, tears suddenly in his eyes. "I wasn't here for her," he whispered. "If I wouldn't have been out getting drunk then I-"

""Shh, it's not your fault, Bronze. It's no one's fault except those boys." Dalton held his head in place, glancing towards Kilo. "But Kilo, Kilo's a good guy, Bronze. He really loves Winnie, and he really wants to help her." Bronze hugged Dalton tighter. "I wanna help her. Why won't she let me help her?" he whined, suddenly a child all over again. Dalton hesitated. "You're a good kid, Bronze, you've just made some bad choices, and Winnie is just so worried about you, she doesn't want you worrying over her anymore. Why don't we get you to bed?" Already though, Bronze was falling asleep, and Dalton sighed, picking him up with a grunt. Bronze was no kid anymore, and this was difficult for Dalton to manage, but he did all the same. "I'm going to take him to bed, you can go back to Winnie if you want," Dalton said, before carrying Bronze upstairs to go lay him down.

Sage smirked, letting his shirt ever so slowly slide down his arms, taking his time with this article of clothing. Just as he finished he used it in a similar way as the tie, pulling Korren up to her feet and taking her hands in his own, guiding her onto the coffee table and grinding against her, using his shirt to hold her in place with a smile. He leaned forward and kissed her gently, laughing inwardly since he could see the embarrassment in her eyes. He leaned forward so his mouth was close to her ear. "You missed a button," he whispered, still grinding even as he said this, glancing down toward the button to his pants. He made sure to keep a close watch on her expressions, knowing she was embarrassed but looking specifically for some time of expression that showed she didn't like what he was doing. If he would see anything like that he'd stop immediately, but so far he wasn't.
