He frowned and shook his head. “It’s not gonna be ten years baby… it will be more like 2 if that.” He mumbled, watching her carefully. “We’ll be okay.”

Carmen frowned as she was being shaken awake, grumbling a little and looking up at Eddie. “Why are you smiling like that?” She muttered, burying her face back in his chest again.

Max shook her head more "And two years with you away! Two years of Lilah wanting you more than anything, going through a pregnancy, and handling a newborn alone!" She sobbed before taking a shaky breath "I can't....Clay I can't have this baby...I can't do it."

Eddie shook Carmen awake and smiled widelt at her "Just got the call from the doctor babe, I'm all clear over everythinfg " he said happily

She frowned as she watched him, just blinking for a minute. “Did you wake me up to tell me that? We aren’t having sec during the day.” She muttered. “And not while any of the kids are home during the day.”

He frowned and watched her. “Max… honey…. Don’t freak out love it’s gonna be just fine. We’ll get through this.” He promised her. “I’ll make sure you for all the support you need.”

Max shook her head more "No Clay you don't get it, I can't do this! I had 'support' last time too and all I got was protection and a envelope of cash delivered. I was alone the entire time!" She explained before taking deep breaths to try and calm down.

Eddie pouted some but gave a small sigh "I just excited...sorry." he said softly as continued to look at him.

He frowned and just squeezed her hand again. “What are you saying then?” He muttered, feeling a pit in his stomach

Carmen frowned and just rolled over, facing away from him and trying to stay resting a little longer.

Max took a shaky breath before looking at him "I'm saying I'm done Clay...I can't do this anymore and I can't have this baby." She said seriously just watching him after to see his reaction.

Eddie sighed heavily but left her alone until the clock rang on the hour "I need to go get the girls." He said softly

He frowned more, starting to panic. “Are you leaving me?” He questioned her. “Babe we want this kid. That’s not… that’s not fair!” He yelled but his voice was all hoarse and getting choked up.

She just nodded and sighed quietly, moving to get up as well, “can you take Stella and get her a walk in with the girls?” She mumbled, not able to meet his eyes right now while she moved to go check on Jack and get him up to sort his hair out. “You’re turn for a trim tomorrow.”

Max shook her head frowning deeply "No YOU want this child! I have exprrssed multiple times how I have not wanted another! I've told you why I don't want another as well. I told you how alone I've felt and all I'm told is to get over it, but now with you going to jail and looking at ten years you want me to just be happy go lucky?!"

Eddie frowned as he noted how she was adverting her eyes away from him "Yeah thats not a problem." He said before calling for the dog and heading off to grab the girls and Lucas.

She just nodded and frowned, waiting til he left and went to go get Jack.

He frowned, shaking his head as he watched her. “Please don’t do that. I’m not gonna go away for ten years! What part of this are you not understanding? I will make a deal and I’ll keep my head down and be home before you know it! Please don’t do something that’s gonna push us to the point of no return.” He begged

Max frowned deeper and gave a small laugh "You're going to make a deal?! And put not only yourself but your daughter's life and mine on the line if the upper shot callers were to find out?! And say you were to do that, what if that wasn't enough huh? What if they still say no?"

Eddie came back a little while later smiling as he smelt food being made it the kitchen "Okay go say Hi to your mother and then start on your homework." He told all three of them while he got the dog situated. He made his way to the kitchen and smiled wider seeing all the kids hugging their mother tightly "Man, Stella sure does have a lot of energy." He said giving a small chuckle as he made his way over to Carmen.

Carmen sighed a little as he walked into the room, avoiding him all night until finally she couldn’t anymore and she was laying in bed with him, tense.

He frowned and shook his head. “Not that kinda deal my god. I don’t understand how you could just throw away the ppportu ugh that we have with having this baby!” He snapped at her but felt pain ripple through him and soon lay back trying to breathe through it. “Just don’t do something that’s only gonna hurt us.”

Eddie was upset to say the least by the end of the night. He had no idea what he had done wrong and he wanted to know before going to bed or else he wouldn't sleep. He sat in their bed watching as she turned her back to him almost instantly "Carmen what's wrong? Have I done something to upset you and not realized it?" He asked trying to let his irritation not show.

Max frowned deeply as she watched him and shook her head some "Because I'm not going to raise two children on my own Clay. Don't feed me the bullshit of your almost out and this stent won't be long anymore. You've been telling me the same thing since Lilah was born. 'Oh we're in a real good place and I'm almost there, here real soon babe real soon.' thats all you tell me, it's been five years that I've been waiting patiently, and I'm not waiting for ten or twenty more." she muttered before pressing the call button and gathering her things "I'm going to find some food, a nurse will be in to check you over soon."

Carmen frowned and tensed a little feeling his hand on her shoulder "You haven't done anything wrong." She muttered, frowning as she felt him begin to initiate intimacy, reaching to turn the lights off. It had always been his conflict resolution and she'd never been mad about it before but she was being stiff and not really letting him in right now.

HE just grit his teeth and lay back trying to catch his breath a little as he watched her go, feeling worse and worse as the hours went by and she didn't come back

Eddie placed his hand on her shoulder and frowned deeply when she said nothing was wrong. He gently started to kiss her neck and shoulder while his hand wandered a bit "Talk to me baby.." he whispered softly to her letting his hands and lips stop when he felt her tensing.

Max couldn't go back after she told the nurse to please check on him. She sat at home crying her eyes out as she started to pack her bags to finally leave.

Carmen frowned a little, shaking her head "Eddie..." She froze completely when his hands went to lift her shirt up, smacking his hand away out of instinct. It had ben different with Rob. Rob didn't know her before the kids. Rob hadn't loved her as a young adult... Eddie had seen her back when she had a bangin' bod and she was freaking out that he wasn't going to like it now when he had something to compare it to.

Jack got there much later on to drop off a very sleepy Lilah, sighing quietly, "I'll keep you posted on how it's all going.... Max don't disappear from his life completely.... That little girl is his everything. Please do him that one kindness and let him be in her life as much as possible." He told her, setting Lilah on their couch, "But just call me if you need anything... I'm always around." He promised. He'd known her and Clay since high school and he considered Max a sister.

Eddie gently tried to lift her shirt but quickly retracted when she smacked him hard. He took a deep breath and left out a small frustrated sigh "Carmen...please talk to me, whats wrong?" He asked now more concerned about it all; had something happened to her that he didn't know about?

Max shook her head softly as Jack came into the house to drop Lilah off "I won't take her away.....but I have to give us distance Jack. I can't keep this life up anymore." She explained hoping maybe he could see her side of things as well.

HE just nodded and frowned "I know, I know... He's been trying you know... To get out." He told her quietly, "Top boss was making it difficult though." He told her "And he only got shot cause he was trying to help someone... He's not a bad guy Max... I'll leave you to it though." He told her quietly, heading out for now.

She frowned and shook her head, starting to cry a little. "I don't want you to change your mind.... And you're gonna change your mind.... I'm not like the girlfriends you've had, I don't have time for that physique... I'm not...." She trailed off and just stared at the floor crying still.

Max gave a heavy sigh and nodded giving him one last hug before he left. She got herself ready for bed as well just trying to find some sleep while her mind ran a million miles a minute over everything.

Eddie frowned deeply and immediately got up and went to her side of the bed turning on the lamp. He made her look at him and wiped away her tears "You remember when you were pregnant with Jack? Your horomones were all over the place and you asked if I would still love you if you were a worm? Or if you were 300 pounds because you felt you looked that way?" He asked her gently smiling a bit at the memory as he looked at her with adoration "Remember what I said? I said I'd adore and cherish you no matter what size or shape you were, and guess what? I still mean that, because to me? You still have a fucking banging body just from what I see with your clothes on." He told her truthfully.

She frowned and just kept crying, "No cause all I wear is baggy." She whimpered a little, letting him hold her though and just buried her face into his shoulder "The twins definitely did a number on me." She cried.

Lilah wandered into her room in the middle of the night with her teddy and frowned, "Mommy.... Mommy! I can't sleep, can I sleep in here?" She asked her, wandering over and rubbing at her face

Eddie wrapped his arms around her and nodded softly "You may wear baggy clothes, but I feel all your curves, your little pudge that I like to hold when we spoon. Can hide that damn nice ass you've gotten. You are gorgeous Carmen, inside and out." He murmured kissing the side of her head repeatedly.

Max woke up instantly as she heard Lilah's voice and nodded some "Yeah come here baby." She whispered moving over so she could lay with her "You want me to sing a song?" She asked quietly

She frowned, slowly starting to calm down a little more, taking the water from Eddie when he grabbed it off her nightstand for her "I'm sorry." She mumbled.

She shook her head and cuddled her straight away, "Mommy when is Daddy coming home?" She asked her frowning.

Eddie handed her the glass of water she had on her nightstand once she calmed down a bit. He shook his head and smiled softly at her "Don't be sorry okay? Just be open with me is all I ask." He said quietly before kissing her lovingly.

Max held her daughter protectively close and sighed heavily "I don't know baby, I really don't." She said quietly.

She frowned and just held onto him a little tighter until they were laying in bed again, falling askeep from wearing herself out, curled up close to him.

She frowned and just sighed a little dramatically. “Okay.” She mumbled. He she was asleep very quickly after that finally.

Eddie woke up the next morning and gave Carmen a small frown as he watched her sleep. He still felt bad about the coversation they had last night, and now he wanted to do everything he could to show her how beautiful and sexy he thought she was.

Max cried quietly but soon fell asleep as well. She woke up early that next morning and got up quickly rushing to the bathroom as she got sick.

Lucas was the first one up and getting breakfast downstairs, frowning at his dad as he came in. “Why was mom crying last night? I could hear her from my room. What did you do?” He questioned him

Lilah was still asleep in their bed, cuddling her teddy bear, whining when her mom eventually came to wake her up.
