You've been all dropped from the frying pan into hell. They are now inmersed in a battlefield. The coast is large enough to be divided in three sections. The closest one to the sea is where the strongest digimon are fighting, that's where the metalseadramon is located, not the only one but several ultimate ad mega leveled digimon are over there.
On the far away point of the beach within the trees you suddenly appear and close by your digimon partner is located, it may be either knocked down, wounded, completely fine, that's up to you, your device will link you to them. Some of the trees are burning though, be careful.
Between both, in the middle area there is a squadron slowly advancing composed by tankmon and commandramon lead by Sealsdramon, They're cold blood and will try to kill anyone close enough.
The coast is large enough to run or hide between the standing trees. You can fight or stay away that's your choice. Many of the random NPC are probably being killed you can write about that as well. I also give you free will to add any Digimon fighting in the battle be rookie to mega to add a bit of flavor to your writing if you feel like. (As long as its not one uber or unique digimon xD)

My guy may be a dumb jock, but he is not that dumb. He will probably bail out after seeing the massive sea dragon. Don't worry though, he will stop to save his digimon, or should it be the other way around?

Honestly with everything else happening the likelihood of someone seeing it is pretty slim unless they are really close or going the same way

Well there is a party against other party.
There are several data, virus, vaccine type in each party xD
You could say the MetalSeadramon, Tankmons, Commandramons and Sealsdramon are one party and the Gigadramon and Megadramon were from another party
Feel free to add any digimon to any party if you wanna put some scene or whatever in your post.
Regarding your rookie digimons, their enemies are the metalseadramon team, but they're for other reasons
