Fantasy Descendants of the Curse

Apollo firmly gripped his mate close to his side. He would not have her be upset by this cretin, nor would he let his sons.

"You take no wife!" Apollo called back over his shoulder with a snort,"no wife would take you! Have him put away where you can't here his mutterings!"

Apollo's goons willingly obliged and dragged Fredric deeper within the camp, past the last of the dens and to a hole, covered with a heavy metal grate and gaurded by two wary wolves, wary of the new, and magical, prisoner that is.

"Donahue..." She croaked and scuttled back farther into the recesses of the storage space.

"Go on to the feast! I'm sure your friends will be missing you, having all the fun. You'll have no fun in here with me all snivelling and snot faced."

Thea pouted as she searched almost fervently through trunks to find a kerchief to wipe her face, wet with tears as it was. Even in the state of their tattered relationship she still had an ill feeling in her gut when she thought of being less than presentable in front of him.

Sorry I didn't get the notification.

I would have taken him. Amber thought to herself as she walked by Apollo's side, slightly upset at how he completely disregarded Lottie. "What if his wife seriously needs help?" She asked watching her two boys wrestle. "He seemed really worried about her." She said leaning her head on his shoulder trying to gently convince him to help Fredric, or  let her go to help Lottie herself. "What if something happened to you? Wouldn't you want to make sure we were safe?" She asked her fingers gently tracing the curve of his biceps.

"And leave you here by yourself for what could be one of the only feasts we have in this pack? No, I can not do that to you. I already feel bad for scaring you, I couldn't live with myself if I ruined this for you too." He said apologetically as he kneeled infront of her and handed her his handkerchief. "I shouldn't have done that to you, it's just..." His voice got softer almost a whisper as he looked at her his eyes full of regret. "I love you, and I didn't want to lose you. I never meant for this to happen I just don't want to wait any longer for us to be together. Because it seems the longer you are not mine, the more chances Va -er- other wolves get the chance to take you from me." There was worry in his voice as he carefully reached out and held her hand. "Please forgive me?"

"By selling that magic to our enemies he put the lives of all of us, of my mate and our children, in jeopardy. Why would I give him the kindness that he doesn't deserve? That, I can't afford to give him."

Apollo led his mate and children farther away from Fredric and pushed back the heavy fur covering that had been hung over the entrance of their den.

"Boys! In the den!" He called, you could see he was troubled, he had become far less gaurded in his emotions as the years passed. He took his mate by the shoulders and turned her to face him, his hands then sliding up to her cheeks and his face twisted up in a sort of woeful grimace.

"I can't lose you, Amber, or the boys, either of them. It would be my undoing."

She nodded and took his hand which allowed her to be pulled to her feet.

"I'm sorry too, I really am, Don."

((Time skip to later at the party?))

Amber frowned remembering what happened to their first litter. Surely Fredric hadn't know what his actions did, she was sure he wouldn't have done it if he had known, but now was no time to fret on the past. "I know, it's just..." She sighed gentle pulling his hands away from her face and holding them carefully. "We need as many allies as we can get right now. I just thought maybe . . . maybe his wife would help us. I know you don't like the witches, but if it means saving our family, our pack it would be worth putting what he did behind for just long enough to secure our pack's safety right?" She asked looking up to him. Fredric's shouts of anguish could still be heard even from this distance.

(Sure)

Valac sat frowning with the elders as they finished healing him completely, they were seated by the pack members who were playing a joyful tune that had the pups running around and him fighting hard not to tap his foot to the beat. So he sat there annoyed watching his pack members dance about the fire in circles all spinning and holding hands almost looking ritualistic as they did so. Though that wasn't what spoiled his mood. Right in front of him was Donahue and Thea, smiling and holding hands as they danced, they looked perfect together and he hated it. Drinking some of the moonshine Diatin had made he growled to himself, not wanting anything more than to rip Donahue's tan and muscular throat out.

"See this isn't that bad." Ash said holding Vivian's waist from behind as they looked out over the dancing pack, leaning down and gently kissing her shoulder.

Apollo wrinkled his nose and let go of her hands. Why was she so insistent on freeing the witchling? Yes, his mate took great initiative with decisions within the pack but with the something he disagreed with so firmly?

A years old flame, jealousy, rose up in his gut like bile. He had never felt threatened by another male, why should he by this magical prick that threatened his pack with his botched business?

"He'll stay where he his, Amber."

Apollo's voice lowered and he turned from her, eyebrows furrowed and moved back toward the den's exit.

"And if I see you, anywhere near the witchling, damnit woman... I don't know what I'll do."

"You and your sour face almost ruin the party for me. Almost. Artemis may be awful but she does know how to throw a party."

Sabella teased her brother as she seated herself beside him, taking a rather large swig of the moonshine provided for her.

It was then that she followed his eyes to the happy couple that Valac watched so keenly. Snorting and rolling her eyes, she took his mug and topped it off with her own moonshine.

"You'll thank me later."

"Only because she's been too preoccupied with the festivities to latch onto you."

Vivian sighed deeply as she glanced across the fire to the red headed devil that she 'shared' her husband with. Closing her eyes, the alpha female leaned back against her mate and nuzzled closely to him.

She would readily admit she resented Artmeis's hold on Ash, but never, ever her envy of her long hair and far more filled out figure, her rounded hips and chest. She remained boyishly ugly and thin from her ordeal years ago, her shorn hair hardly growing an inch and scars fading ever more slowly as she aged. Artemis's first beauty pained her more than anything especially when it caught Ash's eye, his attention.

"Apollo..." Amber frowned about to say something when she was interrupted by the sounds of their pups squealing happily followed by harsh ripping sounds. "What on earth?" She muttered looking to Apollo then hurried to where the noise was. Their two pups had gone outside once more and using the strength crystals Fredric gave them to rip the small surrounding trees right out of the ground and hurl them far into the trees.

"Having fun?" Donahue asked smiling at her as he twirled with her  around the fire holding her close, enchanted by how the glow of the fire iluminated her features. He was grateful to her for coming out here, but he was even more grateful to Diatin and the moonshine that got Theo to relax and loosening up enough to seem like she no longer hated him.

Apollo rubbed his temples with his thumb and forefinger in hard circles. This would be his undoing, the arrival of witches in his woods. They'd spread like a fungus, they always did. The coven back from years ago still festered in their mansion like abode, permenantly rooted. Once you had a witch and a witch that started a family they would settle in and take what they could and what they wanted. A low growl started in his throat but that was soon cut short by the commotion his children caused outside the den.

"Boys! In the den! You've had quite enough excitement today and I'll be damned if I wake up to grumpy pups tomorrow!"

Burying his bad mood momentarily the alpha male swept up his squirming children.

"You may be magically jacked boys but you're no match for your old man, witchcraft or not!"

"We'll see." Valac muttered but drank what she gave him anyways. "To think it could go from me not even knowing of her affections, to her kissing me, to Donahue attacking me and now this.." He grumbled downing the last of his mug already able to tell he would regret this in the morning. Then he looked over to Sabella and frowned noticing the way she too was watching the couple. "What do you see in that ass anyway?" He asked his voice slurred as he turned back and looked to Donahue.

Thea smiled as best as she could. She wanted so badly to go home, to just curl up and cry and cry and cry. It felt as if her whole world had unraveled, in her mind and heart, Valac had been her entire world. She had thought of herself with him , with his pups, Sabella as her sister... Now it would never be, not after what he had said to her. Her gut wrenched and twisted. She wouldn't be happy with Don, but she wouldn't be happy if he were to be with anyone else. Her thoughts and feelings overwhelmed her and she searched desperately for Sabella, perhaps she could save her.

The two girl's eyes met. Sabella cocked an eyebrow and Thea pouted pleadingly over Don's shoulder.

"I see strength," Sabella admitted quite honestly," a virtue I do admire and something you lacked when it came to fighting for Thea. Thea saw it too but strangely enough she can't stop looking at you."

Then Sabella caught Thea's pleading gaze and she supposed as resident female companion she would have to come to the rescue. Without explanation to her brother, Sabella was quick on her feet and hurried to her friend.

"Thea! You're father has had me looking everywhere for you! He needs your help with his...medicine! Herbs and what not, you know the drill."

Thea put on her best startled/disappointed face, although she couldn't help but smile. The connection between Sabella and herself was amazing, sure Bella was a hard ass and quite frustrating in her moods but she was a friend, the best one she'd ever had at that.

"Of course! I'd almost forgotten I'd been having such a wonderful time! Thank you, Don, for everything."

Theadosia smiled sweetly and placed a quick kiss on his cheek.

"I'll see the two of you tomorrow, alright?"

The she wolf then proceeded to retreat quite quickly, leaving Sabella and Don.

Amber put on a smile for her sons as they wrestled in Apollo's arms but when one of their legs jutted out and kicked the other in the jaw creating a loud cracking sound leaving the boy's jaw hanging limply. There was silence only for a second before the den was filled with his crys of pain. "Romus!" (?) Amber cried out imediately rushing to her injured son, trying to see the damage while also trying not to scream at her other son in front of the pack. "That's it! No crystals for you. Childern are not allowed to have crystals!" She yelled to her son's, mate and all the pack members there before hurrying her crying son to the pack elder.

Valac rolled his eyes at his sisters comment knowing that after what he said to her, she would never want him. He had liked her and thought she would make a good mate, but she lead him astray. He only said those things in attempt to keep Donahue from attacking him, though just look at how well that worked.

Donahue frowned when she left, but her kiss left him with hope they still may be happy together. But something about this whole scene didn't sit right with him. "You know the drill?" He asked suspicious as he turned to Sabella and questioning brow raised almost acting as a warning to her, that he was expecting some explanations, whether she was willing to give them or not.

The whole ordeal had happened so quickly, Apollo hadn't a moment to think, setting Romulus down as Remus was ushered away, he pushed past the gathering crowd of pack members. Many of them startled at the alpha's urgency but his anger and panic mounted at the worry he could see within his pack.

"Bring him out! Bring him out here!"

Apollo snarled as he stormed towards the small hole like structure that served as a cell.

Sabella mirrored him, cocking her thin eyebrow and crossing her arms across her chest in a challenging and stubborn stance.

"Her father is ill. If you spent less time with your eyes on her chest you might see a little more."

The slender she wolf smirked. She was not near as striking as Donahue's woman of choice in the waning fire light. She wore trousers that clung tightly to her legs, tall boots of supple leather and a loose blouse that hung low and belled at the sleeves. She was practical, hardly pretty as it would interfere with her hard work.

Laying Remus down she bit her lip and tried to keep him from crying as the elder touched his jaw. "What happened?" The old wolf asked able to easily move Remus's jaw "Theboys were wrestling and he got kicked in the jaw, can it be fixed?" She said ignoring his questioning look, she didn't want to tell him about the crystals not now anyway. The elder sighed . "It looks like it is only dislocated, and can be fixed without using moon essence (their form of magic).  But I will need your help." He said looking up at Amber and she nodded.

Knuckles bloodied and bruised from his punching the wall in anger he turned around as he heard yelling. At first it made him hopeful, only for all hopes to be crushed when he realized it was Apollo shouting. "What is it now?!" Shouted as pack members quickly grabbed him and forcefully drug him out to face Apollo. "What is the meaning of all this?!" He demanded glaring up at Apollo trying to act brave

Donahue frowned at her, but then smirked. "Same to you, as you see if you spent less time with your eyes on me you would notice that your brother is ill." He said pointing over Sabella's shoulder to Valac who was bent over puking behind the log he had been sitting on.

Sabella felt herself become flustered, both with frustration and... she'd rather not think about it. Weak were those that let heated thoughts power actions. Biting the skin at the edge of her lip and gathering her thoughts quickly she soon retorted clumsily,"that must please you an awful lot."

Her cheeks become hot but she willed herself not to let them colour, faily miserabley. The fact that he had managed to do this to her only made her barely there distaste for him grow, and then falter.

Apollo's face twisted up into a disturbingly cruel snarl as he spat at Fredric who was shoved to ground roughly by the two omega's who had drug him back and forth to his cell.

"Witches, absolute filth of the earth and you are the worst of them! You're witchcraft has caused an unimaginable amount of bloodshed and pain to my family, my mate, my pack," Apollo grabbed his chin roughly, forcing him to look up at him, "you'll answer for it, all of it."

Now leaning it he growled, deep and low in his throat, " I should've killed you year's ago, hours ago."

With that he tossed him back, hard into the dirt then looked to his omega's.

"Take him back to the cell, starve him, peel his finger nails off, tear out his hair, I don't care. Just make sure it hurts."

"That amoung other things yes." He said watching a drunk Valac hobble back to den, then turned back to Sabella. He was enjoying dancing to the music and didn't want to leave just to continue this awkward small talk. The smell of moonshine was on them both, but niether as bad as Valac, they were both still well enough to remember anything that would happen tonight in the morning. "What is this I see?!" He teased with a hint of shock. "Is the man-hating, stubborn headed Sabella blushing?! Surely not, what whimsical sorcerer could have conjured up this dark magic?!" He teased smirking as he danced beside her.
