Then write him instead.Shit, in my Character Sheet I've ended up creating an even more interesting new character... Jake Blakesley.
Then write him instead.
If even you think he's more interesting why not play him?Nah, I plan to make him as an NPC instead...

Oh come on, that's a lie.He is... too awesome for me!

It's roleplay, this is your fantasy! If you want to play an awesome character you go and do it!Maybe. Maybe not.

I don't see why not.Perhaps I can play both characters. Russell can be a new player to the game while Jake strikes me as an experienced protagonist that's been there forever.
I don't see why not.
Music is definitely my number one motivator, the problem usually comes in finding the right music for what I'm writing. It's different for every character that's why most of my chars have a them, it's what I was listening to when I wrote them.Nogood, if you ever have trouble writing, what do you usually do to get your muse back?
I find that playing soothing music helps.

For me though I honestly just skip ahead to a scene I REALLY want to write, then work my way backwords through the filler. Not the most elegant, but it works for me.
I find a theme really helps me get into the mood for the character, and then I can kind of just write their info out while being in character.Hmm, that might work for me but usually I just write a character first before finding a theme for them.

Ah, dunno if this'll work for you then, for me the aggressive music helps me write an aggressive character, gets me right into the mood for it.While I just play some music that calms me down, it relaxes my nerves a bit. If its music that's loud or aggressive, I find it hard to write because I'm so distracted.

I doubt that, it's just that we operate differently, maybe you need something else to get you into the mood, have you tried method acting? I remember a friend of mine was playing a hard boiled detective type char in a D&D campaign I was in and before every session he downed a cup of black coffee to get into character.Guess I'm more of a softy then...
