Fantasy ✣ Defense of Acheron ✣

Archie, I still need an approximation of the technology level. I'm assuming, from the intricacy and prevalence of plate armor on display in the character tab that we're well into or even past the late medieval period, but does that mean someone has discovered gunpowder? Are the billhook and pike common amongst levies? How large are normal national armies?

If Warb's picture is snackurate, then that'll answer all the questions I need, but it seems to contrast with Tenebris or Ashenlilly, whose armor implies there is no gunpowder, and the latter's shield which implies a much earlier date.

Do we have any estimated start time for the RP? Also, per Pentagon's post, I'm definitely willing/able to make adjustments to my CS if needed. ^_^ Just let me know and it shall be done.

Oh I'm not suggesting anyone should change anything. I just want to make sure I do not spend an hour working on something that, because I was wrong and an idiot, is not going to work for the game.

Oh, I know! I'm just fully willing to accept if I'm an idiot, and misunderstood the time period/era. :P Haha. I don't plan on making any changes, but I absolutely don't mind a bit if I need to. ^_^

Well he's asking about the human's tech level, but that shouldn't affect elves as they've been stated to shun human tech.

God I hope I get to play not!Jan Zizka. Guns make any 'Humanity, Fuck Yeah!' character that much better, especially when set against enemies who are woefully without-guns.

Medieval, no gunpowder (there is in some parts of the world but not far up north in a remote village)

Conquering the forest one wagon wheel at a time

When medieval? The medieval period is very long. I guess it doesn't really matter, I can infer from the pictures well enough. I am just afraid of playing a character who has learned lessons that have not been invented yet.

EDIT: in my delaying, most of my ideas have found shape in other characters. I think I'll pass on this one.

The impression I get is that as long as it isn't gunpowder, anything goes. Take that with a grain of salt as I'm not the gm :)

1300s so there's gunpowder, just not arquebuises yet (butchered that spelling lol)

@Archie @AshenLily @Pentagon @SilentSir @justcall

Calling all loyal elves and (reluctantly) elven traitors lol, but seriously. I wanted to develop a lore for the elves together if Archie the GM didn't do so already. 1. We know the elves love nature and are primarily carnivorous as to avoid hurting plant life

2. The hate machines.

But what else? How long do they live? What's considered old, and do they mature slowly as well? Or when they hit there prime the stop again for a few hundred years. Etc. See what I mean? I think we need to set a standard and branch offices of that.

So I have a lot of ideas for the elven society and culture, also I was thinking for the elves after reaching 25, they stop aging until late they have 300years left, but as a slower rate than a human

. The max age is 1000, but that is considered really old like 100 is for humans

I was also thinking maybe implementing other elvish "races" but are only really distinguished by Elena kind. As human a loving inward only see elves. The key though is that all the elves are mostly United in beliefs just different cultures or traditions

As well as a caste system. I think it would make it interesting if there were a caste system

In non-LOTR elven history, there was a caste system, but only between low and high elves. Low elves were viewed as the fodder for the empire, while High elves made up royalty, commanders of the military, and elven council members.

Hmm, I was thing a caste system along the lines of the phases of the moon, and sun. I have this whole concept worked out already. Lol love world creating I can share with you if you'd like

That sounds good, and we can develop it further. I still would like to have the High and Low elves, I'm used to that system.
