Deception [Closed]

Ivy nodded and leaned in closer to the cat. She squinted and nodded, half disgusted and half excited. This cat was pretty cool in her opinion. With one small paw it tried to swipe at her face and she leaned back before it's unclipped claws could make contact with her cheek. She didn't feel bad for the cat but she did think the police were idiots for not taking it away. This was animal abuse, and would make for good blackmail if it was needed later. "Hey, you guys wanna check in the kitchen and see if there's cat food for the poor thing?" Ivy called while still staring at the cat, who gave her another hiss for good measure. "Unless you're too scared."

Moet rolled her eyes and turned back to the laptop. She typed in the name of the email service he used and sat up straight, smiling. Moment of truth, Moet thought. She knew they probably would not find much since neither she nor Ivy even knew the guy before the murder but thought it would be fun to see if they could pin this on someone else anyway. She found it funny how she and her sister seemed to become more intimate with a victim after they became a victim. Upon pressing down on the enter button her happiness vanished and she groaned loudly. "Look at all these emails! There must be hundreds! Hasn't he ever heard of spring cleaning?"

(( xD Oh gosh Lukas~))

Nelly crossed her arms and frowned. "Poor cat, though... Maybe it was hungry..?" she said, holding back a laughter as she heard another "EW EW EW" from Lukas. He was so bad with gorh things, or blood. Bad thing that he was an apprentice of detective. If that wasn't ironic, she didn't know what it was. "I'll go look for food." she said calmly and walked off to the kitchen.

Lukas tried to think about other things, or else he would puke. Ew.. So gross.. He looked at the computer screen. And holy crap, there was an ocean of emails. "Wow.. It's like he wanted to keep those emails! Though... That wouldn't make too much sense. Anyway, do you see anything important there?"

((his overreactions are the bests xD ))

Ivy looked around and grabbed something to play with the cat. She found a long, feather shaped pen on the desk. She wiggled it in front of the cat and it watched the feather intently, anger flashing on it's face. It lifted one paw warily and waited for the feather to slow down to paw at it. Ivy giggled and the cat's nose twitched in response, not looking away from the feather.

Moet shook her head and cracked her knuckles, leaning back into the stiff wooden dining chair. "It's no use. We can look through it later today if you want? You can drop by Ivy and I's apartment and we'll work on it together." She was surprised as soon as the words left her mouth. This would tie in so well to what she had been planning as long as Nelly didn't come along.

In the kitchen, she looked around the shelves and found a can with cat food. "Aha!" Nelly said cheerfully, "Found it~" she grabbed the can and looked for a bowl to put the food in for the cat.

Meanwhile, Lukas sighed and frowned. "Oh bother. Well, you're right. Maybe we should do that tomorrow. In your place would really be nice, since it's not a.. Crime scene.." he shuddered. "Nelly and I can drop by by the morning, or after lunch. What would be better?"

Moet straightened up slowly, looking from Ivy to Lukas and back. Ivy was yelling at Nelly to hurry up with the food and was of no help to Moet at the moment. She wanted to know if she could get Lukas alone but didn't know how to do it. Maybe Ivy and Nelly could do something together and Moet and Lukas could work on the emails together. Suddenly everything clicked as she smiled at Lukas kindly.

"Yeah, see Ivy has to ask around for witnesses so maybe we can split up. Nelly can work with Ivy and you and I can work with these emails. Besides..." Moet looked at her sister and crouched down so she could whisper. "I don't think I trust Ivy to be alone with you."

Nelly came back as soon as possible, carrying the food and bowl. "I'm here, I'm here!" she said, quickly putting the bowl on the ground and putting in the food for the man-eating cat. "It must be hungry. Poor thing.."

Lukas tilted his head and nodded softly, frowning at the thought of being separated from his trusty superior. But oh well, they weren't glued to each other anyway. He looked at her in surprise when she added the last part. "Wh-what do you mean by that...?"

Ivy nodded, although she didn't know what it would feel like to consider the cat a "poor thing". She moved the feather pen to the bowl slowly and the cat followed, mesmerized by the way the pen moved so gracefully. When she finally reached the food bowl Ivy put the pen behind her back and out of sight so the cat could eat. The thing ate like a pig and it's sloppy munching was audible. "Sweet." Ivy commented.

Moet furrowed her eyes brows and bit her lips, inhaling sharply. "Well... remember how she was looking at you earlier?" As Moet waited for an answer and began to disconnect the laptop from its charger plugged into the wall. She was planning on taking it with her.

"Aw, look how hungry it was!" Nelly said and crossed her arms. Poor thing, it must had been starving!! Lucky that they found it in time.

"Wh-wh-whaaaaat??" Lukas said in a quiet, but scared voice. He had a light shade of pink on his cheeks as he began to imagine what Moet was trying to say. "B-but she, I-I... N-no, I mean.... Why would she..?" he tried to form a nice sentence, but it just wouldn't come out. He had never been good with girls, he'd always get nervous around them if there was anything love-related, either him being the one who had a crush, or if he knew the girl liked him. Hewas normally shy, but in a situation like that, he would simply break.

Ivy tore her eyes away from the cat and looked at her sister, who was speaking in hushed tones with Lukas and packing up the laptop on the table. "Where are we headed sis, looking at this little pig makes me hungry." She looked back at the cat as she waited for her sister's answer and it glared at her as it chewed some of its food and then ducked back down to continue eating. Well fine, I don't like you either. Ivy thought.

Moet sighed and nodded towards Lukas. "You don't want to be caught in a situation like that. Ivy always gets what she wants and what she wants is sorta... sorta Fifty Shades of Grey business. If you know what I mean." With that she stood up and grabbed her notebook, wedging it between her arm and the laptop. "Well I was thinking you and Nelly could ask around for witnesses and Lukas and I can check this computer. Way too many emails."

Nelly smiled at the cat, then looked at Moet when she told them about her plans of what to do next. She was a bit reluctant about letting Lukas alone with some girl she had only met in that day... But well, he was old enough to take care of himself, and it wasn't like anything bad woulf happen, right?

The male shivered at the thought of being... Well.. You know.. Fifty shades of gray, he had never read it, neither had Nelly, ut she had read some reviews of it and she told Lukas about it.... Eugh. "O-okay... Th-then we'll do the laptop thing.."

Ivy clapped twice and frightened the cat, who ran a claw along her sneaker. She jerked her foot away angrily and linked her arm with Nelly's. "We are off, friend! To adventure!" She towed Nelly along with her and past Moet and Lukas to the door. She paused before opening it to salute the two and then stepped out, dragging Nelly all the way to the elevator. "Let's grab a bite while we ask the witnesses stuff." She said as the elevator opened with a whir.

"That girl is insane." Moet said. "Well our apartment isn't far from here, do you need anything before we go?" She glanced at the cat in the living room who was still eating hungrily.

Nelly jumped with the sudden contact, "A-ah, o-okay.." she glanced over at Lukas, "Well, be seeing ya, guys." and with that se was dragged along with Ivy. Her suggentions for snacks were a little...unusual, since she was a vegetarian.

The male investigaton waved at Nelly, who was being dragged out. He looked at Moet and shook his head, "No, I don't need anything... Although, I think we should put also a bowl of water for the cat.."

Moet wiped her free hand on her palm nervously and eyed the cat. It was licking itself and ignoring the remaining humans in his house, obviously only caring about food. She smiled down at Lukas's shoes sheepishly and cleared her throat. "That cat looks a bit mean... would you mind doing it?" Internally she kicked herself for being able to clean up her sister's murder but not being able to approach a kitty.

Ivy squinted at Nelly as they stood in the elevator and detached herself from the girl's arm. "What kind of person can live with... eating those things!" She shuddered, imagining how many food groups she would be covering with Nelly's food suggestions. Normally that would be a good thing but for Ivy the only food group she ever needed was the very tippy top of the pyramid. "You need a good burger anyway." She commented, looking over Nelly's skinny body. Ivy was skinny herself but hoped that this argument would earn her permission to have some meat.

Lukas looked at the cat and smiled, he had always been good with animals. He got a bowl and put some water into it, then placing it in a place where the cat could see it. It wasn't too near it because.. Well, even if he was good with animals, he would still respect them if they needed space. And heck, it had eaten a part of its owner! Out of hunger or not, it was still... Ew ew ew ew!!! "Okay, I think we're good to go now. Nelly will probably warn the police about the cat, and they'll probably take it away for adoption."

"Well.." Nelly started, "Sure, we can go get a burger. But I'll have the one made of soy..!" she made a goofy grin and scratched the back of her head. Most people had a similar reaction to that. 'You need meat, girl!', 'Not eating meat is unhealthy!'... Well, she couldn't help it, she liked not eating animals.

Moet watched Lukas silently and took note of how he did what he was doing. She knew it may not be useful but she wanted to see how to deal with a cat in case she needed to in the future. She backed away towards the door while Lukas was talking and she opened the door without turning around. "Do you think it'll go to a good home?" She asked sympathetically, letting Luke walk to the door first.

"Awesome sauce. I know a place, let's go." The second the elevator door opened wide enough to fit them through Ivy grabbed Nelly's hand and ran with her the full 10 long blocks to where the restaurant was. It was a place called Jonny Rockets and was an '80's styled kind of burger restaurant. "The milkshakes are so good here. Let's get those too." She suggested as she pressed her nose against the glass and let Nelly catch her breath if she needed it.

Lukas walked through the door, thanking her for opening it. "Yeah, I think so." he nodded and looked back at the cat. "It's cute, so I'm sure it's gonna get a nice new family.." he said the last part with a smile. It was just like himself, he was 'picked' by Nelly and got a nice new family, even if it consisted only on him and his superior. "So, is your apartment far from here..?"

"A-ah, wait..!!" she yelped as she was dragged along by Ivy. Nelly looked at the restaurant and smiled, panting for breath. "Hah... It.. Hah, sure is.. Hah... It looks like a ... Hah.. Nice place..." she said between breaths. Milkshakes were a good idea too, it sure would be a pleasant meal.

Moet shook her head. "No, not at all." She closed the door softly and locked it, slipping the key back under the mat. "I live just a little farther than up the hill in Castle Village. Hey, how far is that Equestrian center Nelly talked about?" She smiled at Lukas and began walking to the elevator with him, enjoying the thought of coming over to visit and ride horses. Even though the plan she had in store for Lukas would probably not allow that to work out she could go horse back riding with Nelly to help her calm down after whatever Ivy decides to do with him...

Ivy waited for Nelly to calm down and smiled at her. "You go in whenever you're ready. I don't care where we sit so you choose." With that she went back to pressing her nose against the glass and being flashed dirty looks by the people inside.

"Ah, okay." he smiled and began walking next to her. "Oh, the center? It's not far from here, actually. Nelly and I came by foot here today, since it's not so far." Lukas grinned and folded both arms behind his head. "It's a nice place to live! We both have something like a cabin, with two rooms. One for me and one for Nelly."

"Alright!" Nelly nodded and walked inside, picking a table next to a window and sitting down. "The ambient is also comfortable." she smiled and looked around. "It seems like a nice place. You come here often?"

"Sounds luxurious." Moet chimed, stepping into the elevator. She pressed the button for the lobby and it lit up. "Do the horses get cabins too?" She joked, turning and inspecting herself in the mirror.

Ivy slid into the booth and sat with her back to the window, her legs stretched out in front of her. "Used to come here as a kid." She replied, looking around. "I thought I was some kind of time traveler sitting here. Stupid. You grow up here?" She was getting some dirty looks from people but she was used to that and ignored them.

Lukas laughed, shaking his head, "Ah, no, no, it's nothing luxurious, really." he chuckled at the thought of having his mare, Scribbles, inside a cabin. "It's just a small cabin that has a living room, a small kitchen, two rooms and a bathroom. We only go there to sleep or to rest anyway. We usually spend our time investigating or taming and riding horses."

"Hehe.." Nelly giggled at the thought of that place being a time machine. She looked at Ivy and nodded. "In this town, yes. I lived in a house not too far from here until I was 10. When that accident happened, I was sent to a local orphanage and stayed there for a few months, until I was sent to the equestrian center, where I live until now."

"Still sounds a lot better than my apartment. You guys sound like you don't have many problems. You never run into any trouble?" Moet was almost a little jealous about this but she knew she shouldn't be. It was silly, he was happy and she should be fine with that. The elevator dinged open and she stepped out, leading Lukas through the lobby and out of the building.

"Orphans unite sister." Ivy held her hand out for a fist bump and a waiter with a tight ponytail and cheery attitude despite Ivy's table manners walked up to them, grinning a really fake smile. Ivy gave her their order half heartledly and kept her eyes on Nelly, who still owed her a bump.

((That band rp is up by the way. I tried to send a group pm to let you know but you don't have any room in your inbox.))

Lukas looked at her with a surprised expression. "Run into problems?? Of course we do!" he let out a soft chuckle while he followed Moet. "Well, in the equestrian center the problems aren't that big. But there are some things that may be very troublesome, like for example falling off a horse. Once I fell off my horse and lost consciousness. Heh, poor Nelly went crazy.. And she's also exposing herself to danger when she tames young horses... Some of them are very wild, you know. She often comes back with bruises, bite marks.. I get super worried!" the boy crossed his arms and tilted his head, "And there's also that part of being investigators. Being involved in crime scenes, investigations, that can bring a lotta trouble."

Nelly laughed and fist bumped Ivy. Not that being an orphan was a good thing, but oh well.. She told the waitress she wanted a vegetarian burguer and strawberry milkshake, then turning back to face Ivy. She wondered how such a playful girl ended up being the sister of a quiet, serious and collected girl.

((ah, alright! Lol sorry about that! i'm gonna delete my messages xD ))

Moet took this in as they walked up the hill and nodded. Across the street and down another block was a row of buildings called Castle Village. The apartments had huge yards that connected each building and were always fun to play in. Ivy and Moet lived in the very last building and Moet waited for the cars to stop speeding by so they could cross the street. "What about Nelly's hair? Does the sun make that a problem for her?"

"What are you lookin' at?" Ivy said, leaning an elbow on her table and resting her cheek against it. The day had gone by pretty quickly and Ivy's stomach was nagging her to no end.

The boy smiled at the sight of the buildings. It sure looked like a nice place to live. He looked at Moet and shook his head. "No, no." he began, "She's not actually an albino." Lukas chuckled, scratched his cheek and continued, "She was born with dark blond hair, actually. But because of the incident that happened in her house, for some reason her body reacted differently, and her hair turned white." he sighed, "But no, the sun is not a problem for her. Nelly is not fond of heat, so she doesn't stand in the sun usually, but it's not because of her hair or skin, really."

Nelly blinked and shook her head, "Ah, no, it's nothing." she laughed a bit, "I was just spacing out." The girl tilted her head and raised an eyebrow, "So, Ivy... How did you end up with Moet anyway? I mean.. Your personalities are so different!"

Moet laughed nervously and scratched the back of her head with her free hand. "I'm sorry! It's hard to tell she isn't an albino cause...well you know." They walked the rest of the way in silence until they got to Moet's apartment. The building was huge and went up to the 21st floor, but she lived on the 14th. The living room was connected to the kitchen when they first walked in and Moet spun around to smile at Lukas. "I try to keep this place clean. What do you think, 1-10. 10 meaning the house looks amazing."

Ivy sniffed in thought for and nodded down at her hands. "Yeah well, her parents had a hard time having a second kid so they took Moet with them to a foster home so they could take a tour. Moet was bullied by the other kids because she had a parent and I beat the shit out of them." Ivy smirked as she remembered the horrified look she received from the other parents touring. "Moet wanted me as her sister right then and there, but her parents didn't want me because of my disorder. Moet threw a fit, something she never does, and her parents had no idea what to do except adopt me." The waitress came back with the food and almost asked if they needed anything else but Ivy waved her away before she could.
