Aesthetically speaking, the academy is a large campus situated in the city of Weisben. It is surrounded by a gated fence that has a few different entrances here and there, usually students, training to be royal guards, are on duty as well as a few actual Knights...just supervising.
Inside are the fields of the academy, large grassy planes where students practice magic, meditate, spar and study. Really the fields can be used for all sorts of stuff. Sometimes teachers may even opt to teach from the fields for the sunlight and fresh air.
The main campus is a collection of blue roofed white tiled buildings with well kept gardens and shrubbery weaved throughout. It is similar in size and shape to highly recomended, modern day college universities. Although obviously without all of today's technology.
Logistically speaking, the academy is home to all Manor of students and teachers. Mostly things like mathematics, magic, alchemy, science and herbal practices are taught. It is very much a school made more for intellectual pursuits than physical ones. It is also where Knights of the Royal guard are trained.
Any animal can attend the university, there are no restrictions on race or gender. Typically animals are recruited one of two ways. Either it is the next logical step in their training or a professor sees and recommends someone they find to be skilled enough to attend.
So for instance let's say you were born a mage. If your parents noticed your abilities and decided to get you a tutor, much more likely in richer families, you would practice with them for years and eventually reach a point where they would recommend you for the Academy, it would logically be the next step. Like going from middleschool to high-school to college.
However let's say you were a mage from a poor family. You practice all the time and one day you are noticed by a teacher from the academy. That teacher may conclude that your skills are developed enough that you should attend the academy. They would speak to your parent(s), Guardian(s), or you and then recruit you. If you so choose. This can be done for any of the subjects.
Usually this means that most animals who attend are actually FROM the Country Callcaus. It's not unlikely, but its far more rare that animals from other countries find themselves at the academy.
I suppose people from Ceil would find it easier to attend, considering the quality of education in their country, but if you're from Ceil you'd probably rather attend school there.

No no not at all! I'm sorry, I just moved the other day, and my new house has no Internet. So it's very hard for me to post long texts via my phone (tho I suppose I'll have to soon)
I'm pretty sure Edin had to go somewhere for a week and simply hasn't come back from doing whatever that is yet.
In the mean time I still want to post that fantasy check so we can get some more people to join, preferably before the tourney starts (seems like that would be the perfect time to join up?

Ah, I see why people might not be replying, in order for them to keep seeing it, we should bump it with a post every now and then so it stays at the top. That should bring some folk in. ^^
So the academy is where our characters will meet? I'm new to this kind of forum and I didn't realize it had started. Idk if Greggor fits in that kind of place so I may make a new character. Idk. >.>

I'm not sure how long we'll stay at the academy. Likara isn't really suited to it either. Right now there's a common hand-to-hand tournament where anyone can join. Its held on the academy grounds. Likara s hoping to scope out some able fighters in the matches to help her with her task.

The tournament makes it super easy for new rp'ers to just "show up" in the story, without having to come up with some ludicrous stretch as to how they miraculously bumped into the other characters.

But you definitely don't HAVE to. Ezra and Aura are elsewhere in Callcaus on the Eastern side and Stella is all the way out in Ceil!

@Baconhands question Bacon, relative to our characters how big is your sparrow? Does he sit on shoulders or is he large enough to spar with Likara?

All animals (with the exception of very very large ones ie. Bears, Hippos, Horses) are in the same height range as regular humans, with bigger ones like some dogs and wolves being considered "Tall" though not overwhelmingly so.
Even if Loetis is a "short" bird, at 21 years of age, he'd be around the size of a regular teenage boy...unless he has some sort of disease or was born ridiculously small, like our worlds version of a dwarf? But even then he'd be about the size of a child, there's no way he'd be able to sit on us without a LOT of discomfort hahahaha
