Karcen Karcen Night 3 THE ALKIRA

With the gleaming light keeping the scraol at bay (at least for this first night) the Alkira were able to search near their camp to find some bones for tools and boneshaping... the alien light illuminated a swampy area of the riverbank where a giant sabre-toothed tiger had drowned in the mud, it looked like it only would have perished in such a manner by succumbing to other wounds, and there was evidence of a great struggle but what the Tiger's rival in victory could have been seemed unknown. The rotting flesh was sloughed off the majority of the carcass and it was dragged from the mud into the camp -- and 3 units of FINE BONE TOOLS were created that very night, with the teeth set aside for another project, adornment, or trade. Also gain 2 units of Sabre-teeth that can be made into jewelry or weapons at a future point.

It was a strange and difficult proposition -- but ultimately luck and diligence produced a magical effect the Alkira desired. Gaining the spell "Plot Growth" -- a structured and organized version of wild growth suitable for sustenance gathering, Perhaps if moving around became no longer necessary even sustained agriculture could be possible with this spell, which could pick and choose what it nurtured and what weed it allowed to lay fallow...

Studying the stellar flare was difficult, even painful for the Alkira elders who had to travel very close to it, hurting eyes and even skin to sample and warp it's powers. They gained the spell "Wall of light" OR "Brilliant Flash" (decision point to be determined on discord)

The research into Cardinal Confusion was also a success -- creating a spell that confused targets of which direction was what and if used as an enchantment would help hide their presence with misdirecting magical forces. While it's viability in making people forget was questionable, it was beyond denying that it could be used tactically for confusion and strategically to make their camps harder to find...

Bad omens swept the elders of the Alkira Clan as they were struck with visions of the Scraol, enranged, coming for the Kin tribe Twist Twist and the Blood Tribe Kent Kent on night 4... it would be up to the Alkira to share these portents with the other tribes if they wishes to help, or get far away if they wished to remain safe. Many would have to unite to give the targeted tribes even a chance of standing against the scraol, and the Alkria were not a warlike clan nor were they prepared so soon for such a confrontation...

Prince Vaethorion Prince Vaethorion : Night 3:

Much news buzzed in the ears of the River tribe this night, carried on the winds of rumors the day before. The scraol were coming for The Kin Tribe of Matri Midwi and the Blood Tribe of Strygwyr -- and the River tribe would have to decide to take this deadly stand with the other segments of the one people, or let them stand or fall on their own.

It was also to the sadness of River Runs Deep and the elders of his tribe that there was disconcert flowing from the creation of the "Striving man" -- a symbol and ideal for all peoples, It was quickly being replaced by the mighty "Great work" of Strygwyr -- a statue of gypsum, obsidian, purestone, ruby and gold sought to supplant the symbol of the one people... and the old statue was cast down in favor of the "great work" -- when the old striving man was dissembled River's Tribe received 2 wood, 2 stone, 2 gold and 2 clay as returns for it's dissembly -- and the River tribe would need to make a choice... accept the "great work" as the new striving man, and with it take whatever gains that would bring, or take a hit to morale for rejecting the symbol and the great work -- helping to relegate it to an idol specific to the Blood tribe and not a universal symbol in the valley.... The free commodities would only be received if they embraced the new Striving man and the tribe would receive a morale penalty for rejecting the symbol! (Important)

The great fire of Four wood was more than sufficient, though the devils still watched the tribe from the shadows -- those on watch could tell.

The Feast was modest in size but made great with the casting of golden fortune. 3 units of people joined the River Tribe: Two of water devotion and one could be chosen from nature or bone devotion if desired (if not all water). This reflected many in the tribe coming of age but also some of the lost and unassociated folk that were hunted in the darkness rallying under The river banner and embracing the wisdom of his words and his elders.

Golden Fortune cast on the Creation of the blankets enhanced and enchanted the products of the endeavor -- not only were enough blankets made for the entire tribe (+1 permanent morale) the enchanted water elementals created magical clothing as a side-product for the entire tribe as well, Reversable vests and fleeces were made that were camoflaged on one side for practical use could be reversed to reveal golden lining that gave the entire tribe Attractiveness ( Note this as a Tribe-wide-Perk) when the tribe wished not to hide but instead to flaunt and posture their power and magnificence. Fleeces of Attractiveness cannot be shared with other tribes unless considerable magic and furs are expended to make more to share... but for now it was enough that the River tribe had enchanted clothing that gave them glamour and splendor next to the relative mundanity of other tribes.

The River tribe had much to consider (decision point with Striving man and standing with coalition to defend tribes threatened by Scroal) but for the most part thrived on their own apart this night, relaxing and enjoying their magical feast and new dressings....

AngelCloud AngelCloud : Night 3:

The Tribe of Viper snakeheart -- the skeletal amazons, built a fire sufficient to hold back the scraol -- but the devils were there and it was only the presence of the raptors that kept the scraol truly at bay --- numerous times they mock-charged the camp, seeing if they could get individuals to flee into the night and slay them... but the firetenders kept to their job and kept everyone safe. Elders spoke that larger fires might be needed in the future however, or something would have to be done about actually confronting the scraol, if the Amazons wished to stand with Matri Midwi and/or Strygwyr's clans -- new has spread that informed them the scraol were coming for those tribes on night 4... decisions would need to be made.

Study of the Kobold bones revealed they were hollow like a bird's bones but strong and supple like a reptiles -- such bones might be useful for making bendable tools or mechanical work (such as for bows, which were yet out of reach in technology) -- but the bones seemed to whisper their promises that greater things could be done with them...

Dryad wood, besides enabling the making of potent drink, also revealed a tar-oil that masked the scent of humans from animals... and might be useful for hunting or ambushes. Gain 1 unit of Tree-Scent in a tar-form, and all dryad wood found in the future would yield one such unit of commodity in the future for free. Labor would have to go into converting the wood into beverages, and perhaps clay to hold it preserved in jugs....

The tattoo, really a brand was administered by the Underground minotaurs of the caverns beneath the valley. The elders developed their own symbols and skeletal patterns for their own tattoos -- which could be developed into a cultural phenomenon and source of pride for the tribe. If the ENTIRE TRIBE wished to become tattooed, it would give the tribe a distinct cultural identity (1 culture point) and +1 permanent morale... (if noted)

research of the kobold eggs did not reveal much more about them... they could be traded to the gelrakes or popotam at a premium value, or held until the summer where the kobold children would rapidly grow into loyal members of the tribe -- if the tribe allowed them. Elders argued that since many kobolds born would be men, they were not able to join as true tribe members but better to serve as slaves.... the tribe would need to come to conclusions on this before summer thrust the situation upon them...

Comrade in the Shade Comrade in the Shade :

Confronted with the Ancient one, the Crimson Bat, the Chiropteran Behemoth -- the Frost tribe could not control their terror. They fled into the nearby caves in the north cliffs and hid there, awaiting the guidance of their chieftain. If summer came and the tribe did not find direction -- it would disband and spread to the four winds as quickly as it arrived.

The tribe needs orders and handling of their decision points!!!

ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE TITAN QUEST:
If you killed the titan and looted the tomb of the ancient kings, you gain 1 culture point.

We, The Devoured:

The Scraol attacked early in the day today and not where they were expected. It was a complete surprise that wrought terror, death, and ruination upon more than one tribe...

The Skeletal Amazons were pounced upon first -- their clan busy with various affairs they never could form a united front. In the end, which came quickly -- Viper fled with her closest retainers and their Raptor mounts and were driven from the valley...

The Frost Keepers, Kept rooted in place by the chiropteran behemoth -- huddled in their cave and the scraol could smell their fear. They were annihilated completely, their history in the valley as brief as it was mysterious. The scraol made a small pyramid of their skulls outside the cave they had hid in.

The Alkira, a peaceful tribe in soul -- were the last to fall, but fall they did completely. In the end -- they prayed to their gods and worked their magic crystals to save them -- but the ritual was upset by the onset of the scroal massacre. The Powerful "Nir Stone" they sought to generate, a stone to shine like the sun -- could not be made stable in the chaos. The scraol attacking the Alkira were blasted to pieces before they could complete their slaughter of the tribe -- rent asunder with every mote of the Alkira tribe, the explosion of the Nir stone left nothing of the Alkira in their wake, and in the valley their history rapidly became the stuff of myth... a great smoking crater their final testament to the valley...

In addition and perhaps as distressing -- the great elven stump, once dead and rotting, had sprouted into a beautiful sapling, draining all the lifeforce of the wood in the immediate vicinity. The elves were silent on this... which was more distressing still...
