Darkness in Elaria [ACTUAL RP]

"To hunt the darkness..." the phrase was familiar, spoken in the oath of the Ashaltum. "My people have a similar way of life, as do I, an assassin to darkness. There lies a great shadow to the east, and that is the source of my taint."

Havgre looked around, as a dog does when it sits around, then looked back to Ausinoe.

"I hope that with your help, Mother Moon will finally shine her grace upon us… what do you think of my home foreigner? Does it puzzle you?" Havgre asked.

"In truth, all of Elaria puzzles me. My home in Asparas long ago sealed itself away from the world beyond, fearing complications in it's constant war against this darkness. The closest I've ever been to realizing the world outside - until now of course - was in the writings of explorers of the Imperial era. In the East there are no elves, Gunnafunlr, orcs, or undead. We have humans to the south - the Veshvem - and to the North - The Nangar - and Muruthi like me in the mountains. There are no wolves nor dragons. There are also no undead, but there IS magic. It is an alien world to this one, as if the two were not born of the same mother."

"Mother Moon told us long ago the world is never finished, one day Elaria will be gone and people will inhabit new lands, that is the way of the world! There could be hundreds of other lands and creatures waiting to be discovered of fighting the darkness themselves! We may never know or will find out tomorrow, and between you and me, there are more gods than you would believe to be! I have not even told Skjorn, who I have been friends with since I was a pup, you cannot tell anyone I said this!" Havgre explained.

" Nam, it is a truth. My people see this as an aspect of Aresh - the alpha and the omega, the ultimate form of reality. All humans and elves and gods are only temporary incarnations of Aresh - who knows how many there and and how many there have been?" Ausinoe smiled inside at the wisdom of Havgre's words. She had come to this land fearing the same religious frevor found amongst the Veshvem, but she had been pleasantly surprised with the truth of Elaria's spirituality.

Havgre lead Ausinoe back to camp to find Skjorn and Skudi talking by the firepit,

"He won't let me come back Skjorn! I can't go with you!" Skudi pleaded.

"He will because you travel with me! No man in Odeklundr is foolish enough to stop me and you from entering our home!" Skjorn said before noticing Havgre and Ausinoe. "Havgre, we must go to Odeklundr at once! What of your people?" Skjorn asked.

"They will remain here we must be quick in our movements… if something changes I will call them." Havgre said picking his sword up from beside the firepit.

"I shall travel as well. If there is anyone who can convince this king Thror of the presence of Shushannu - whether in Dartak or in the world as a whole - it is me. I bear the curse and I can show it to him. He cannot deny the evidence of his eyes and ears." For the first time in a long time, Ausinoe felt an alien emotion stirring up inside her. It had been lost to her since the time of her exile, and all throughout her travels in the wilderness. Was it... pride?...Excitement?....Duty?....

Purpose, have regained purpose....

She smiled

"And now the path of the Ashaltum is to be traveled, let it never be broken again"

Sheva managed to find her way toward an open area near a stream She saw a huge lion that rested beside a limp body of some sort. She had walked over while Han stayed where he was. "Aren't you a cute little thing." She started to reach for it's nose but it growled. "Come on now I won't hurt." Coro began to bare his teeth at her as she backed away. "Grumpy much." A soft giggle escaped the rag that laid on the floor. "Coro does not like people, I am sorry for his behavior." She slowly sat up, her arm that was bitten was healed. "My name is Eimin." Grimm came flying over as he formed in to his human state. "Your better" Eimin nodded her head as she stood to her feeet, using Coro as support.

"Surely Sheva would want to come, but with the tensions between the elves and humans I don't think it'd be very diplomatic." Ausinoe's sharp mind went over what she had planned at Odeklundr.

The king will never believe us based on our word alone...

Munaru, he might even have us executed!

I'll have to show him..

Perhaps the magic from my sain would provide enough convincing... but with his vehement denial of whats on the horizon... I may need to invoke the darkness....

She shuddered at the thought. Even with resistance to the plague granted by the Sain, she knew that purposely bringing out the shadow would be extremely risky. She may lose control, and even harm the king... or the others.

By my ancestors, please let him be persuaded by the Sain's manifestation alone... or maybe even a dip into dark magic.... but I cannot..... It would be a calamity for all of Odeklundr

Skjorn scoffed.

"The elves must come and Havgre, we must show the king that this is a battle for all, or he will deal with me." Skjorn said, he knew if the king tried to denounce this threat then Skjorn would have to challenge his rule and install a new leader…

" Very well, I acknowledge your lead on this matter. But how shall we go about convincing the king of the truth of the darkness? When Skudi and I confronted him, he had the vehemence to banish his own son. He had no ear for us. " Ausinoe's face darkned. "Honorable Skjorn, I can summon magic - both benevolent and dark. If he is not convinced by the magic of the Sain it may be possible that we will have no choice but to expel him by force... I could technically summon dark magic... but it would be extremely dangerous."

Eimin had walked up toward the two with help from Sheva who had her under her arm. Her voice was weak but you could see the fire in her eyes. "Persuade him, with the right force and action he will surely listen." Coro looked toward the one that reeked of darkness. He growled a little as Eimin coughed. Grimm flew up and landed on Coro's head as he cawed. "Yes , I agree with Eimin." Sheva game them a thumbs up agreeing with tagging along.

"Then I'll take point!" Skjorn announced as they began their journey, he was concerned about bringing so many people especially the elves and foreigner, but outcasts as well. He looked to Sheva before getting to far from the Gunnarulfr camp, "For its own safety your dragon must remain here, it is too dangerous to bring the dragon to Odeklundr." Skjorn said coming to a stop and waiting for her to send the dragon back. Havgre looked to Sheva,

"Do not fear Desert Rider, my people will look after it until we return." Havgre explained.

Han was not paying attention but more was looking at Eimin. Eimin smiled toward the dragon as she put her hand on it's head in between his eyes. "Sheva ...is this a son of a dragon of some sort." Sheva looked back as she nodded her head. "Those are one of strongest , he's the second son of these type dragons, we have them all around the desert."

(I will make this my dragon and name him squishy)

Please everyone strongly consider joining the Kaltaran chronicles. We will not get started until the cast gets big enough :( . Anyone who is willing to create deep, 3 dimension characters should join. It's a very literate rp, the posts so far read almost like a book (in both writing and length)
Ausinoe creased her brow as the party approached Odeklundr. She knew that this was the beginning, that she soon would have to face her sworn enemy. Shushannu was one of the few people - or forces - that truly frightened her. She felt - knew - that she was probbably dying at the moment, the curse only growing stronger.

As they reached the Gates in the side of Odeklundr, Skjorn noticed some commotion with the guards. Skjorn looked to the group.

"Let me do the talking, just follow me!" Skjorn said as some guards began to approach from the gates.
