Darkness in Elaria [ACTUAL RP]

Skjorn became angered by their insolence.

"You trespassed upon my King's lands, I could have slain you there where you stood, yet I brought you here to the warmth of my outpost. We defended you and your man against Northern Orcs and you repay us like this? Stay your blade and sit! You will tell me your business in my lands, and I will decide whether to let you live or to mop the floor with your blood." Skjorn demanded as he offered the bowls of dragon meat stew to the strangers. Skjorn always had strange ways of treating possibly hostile strangers, threaten them but also comfort them, he eyed the man with the blade across Ausinoe's throat.
(ProxCnc great job adding a little more body to your posts, keep it up!)

"Alaashru, be still now. There need not be more blood spilt on this stone. I know not of what happened to your men in the camp after I awoke there, but I did not attack them. So be wise and finish your quarrel with it's true target: threatening an innocent only worsens your chances of getting out of this without harm, especially with that mighty beast of a human speaking of repainting the cave with your blood."
"Skjorn" Ausinoe turned towards her newfound friend. "I appreciate your concern on my part, but let us settle this more peacefully than mopping the cave with this man's blood, yes? I awoke in his camp next to a fire, which probbably saved my life in this bitter, frozen land of yours. He has no true desire to hurt me, and is only acting out of fear and shock. My throat will be safe as long as we calm him."
(Oh, hey ProxCNC)

Cypherion was speechless as the lady spoke to the man.He was shocked...ashamed of himself,"Very well."He sheated his blade.Knowing that the lady was even more protected in the cave than his camp.He didn't question wether the bowl of dragon meat was poison. He sat there and his man,"Why did you save us?Did you now know we were fine back there?!! I am the General of Ebonhold!" He began to burst and calmed again,"I'm sorry."

He glanced on the mysterious looking lady.He looked at her eyes knowing she was diffrent. So he began to question,"You,what of you?" He had never believed that such words would save someone's life,"What are you?"

Before the lady even said anything he turned back to the man who saved his and his spy's life,"I'm sorry for the dagger on your shoulder.I do not intend to hurt you." Still he questions,"Why did you finish our men and not us?What is your intention?"

(Thanks guys)

( Different? A little more than different I'd think. She's got black skin, horns, and black where the whites of her eyes should be! :) )

"Enbonhold..." Ausinoe let the word roll over her tongue. It had a different.... feel to it than that of the language spoken so far. "I am sorry to ask you of this, but I have no knowledge of an Ebonhold, or a definition of the word "general"." She replied softly, keeping her eyes from contacting the men before her. The Murutha considered to very rude to look a person in the face, or to speak louder than a loud whisper in front of someone who seemed to regard themselves as highly as the general.

(LOL srry i didn't know you had horns!)

Cypherion laughed quietly,"You have much to learn. If I am correct, you live in a small tribe, yes?"His spy entered the conversation,"Ebonhold is like a big tribe, where he is the leader."Then Cypherion added,"Sounds clear to you?"He remembered an image,a map beside the lady,"That map...where was it headed to?"Cypherion would not trust them so quickly. He hasn't even told his name.

(Guys,can we start introducing ourselves?)

Skjorn nodded and removed the blade from his shoulder. It was well placed and only required stitching. Skjorn grabbed a thread and needle and sat down, beginning to stitch his shoulder, he listened to Ausinoe as she clearly was confused.
"I am Skjorn foreigners, High Master of Forad Banamadr, slayers of dragons and protectors of Odeklundr, and the map leads east General… towards the Dead Marsh. I go to end the Undead March." Skjorn explained strangely openly.

"Tribe?! Alaashru! A small tribe is my home only if the the mighty sun is only the spark of a fire!" She seethed, her normally stone features cracking, revealing traces of anger. She quickly soothed herself, returning to her normally placid state. " We do not have 'generals' among the Murutha, as we live a different life than you, and as such title our people diffrently. But by my ancestors, do not assume us mere savages!"<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2013_05/index.jpg.88e98852b32be86f9be349183b23b49f.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="1334" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2013_05/index.jpg.88e98852b32be86f9be349183b23b49f.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

"Calm yourself, we all begin as savages, it is the path you take that determines how people see you. I can tell you are no savage, but you certainly seem to come from a tight knit community and strangely you wield Mana and speak our language but don't know our history… Do you know of Dark Magic, I believe it to be the cause of our plight." Skjorn said wisely, acknowledging Ausinoe's culture being a tribe but of higher intelligence and apparently naturally having magic.

"You clearly mistake me for a tribeswoman.... No, you mistake my origins. I am of the Murutha, people of a great Empire in the south. We haven't been tribes for... probbably thousands of years now. We live in a great city, Asparas. And we are naturally inclined to magic... and, yes... we do know of dark magic."

"Quiet! How dare you speak of our title! You are not worthy! And as for your 'ancestors',they are just legends!"

His spy calmed Cypherion down,"I am sorry to insult you.I'll have you know that I can loose my pressure very easily."He looked at the man stitching,"The Undead March? You?",He laughed loudly,"And what can a grey-beared man do to defeat a march!"He knew that the man was trying to get him to their voyage."Very well,I shall aid you in your travels."

"I am not worthy? I come form a great Empire that has ruled the Garesh penninsula for thousands of years. We have temples, universities, technologies that you might have never dreamed of! I grew up there myself, I lived there: In Asparas. It is a great city in the Aspari mountains, far south from here. We are the zenith of civilization.... and yet you call me unworthy... well... I suposse I should expect no less in a land as forgien and backwards as this...."

Ausinoe felt the darkness within her swell with her rage. She quickly composed herself and stemmed the shadowy tide.

Cypherion clearly heard the man say 'mana' and he recalled the rumor about a lady that can hold magic."You,lady..."He was astonished. Then he kneeled down infront of the lady."I will protect you with my life."He knew that the only way to defeat the march was magic. If she dies, all hope is lost.He was ashamed of himself again to call the lady unworthy.

"I am Skjorn Kelison, I have slain thirteen dragons and fought off two invasions by Gorgun and his Orc Army, surely you know of the numbers they possess now. I go because my king ordered me… it is by allegiance that I travel to the Dead Marsh, surely you know something of service commading the armies of the last remnant of the old kingdom. And if you travel with us then you must treat Ausinoe with a little more respect…" Skjorn said, he then turned to Ausinoe. "Will you aid me in fighting the darkness that threatens our lands. I love my home and wish to live there many more years to come." Skjorn asked.

" Wh... what... why?" Ausinoe stuttered, now even further confused by the sheer incomprehensibility of the frozen north. "I have done nothing to deserve such.... honor. If you truly realize the glory of the Murutha, you you should not pay your respects to me. If I am unworthy of anything, I am unworthy of receiving the praises of the Unitary."
"And... travel with you? Have you lost your soul?! I barely even know you!! I know of this and or of the darkness within it that you speak of... please... spare me this.... whatever you want of me you have certainly shown it in a way that I.... I cannot.... How am I to agree to such a thing!" Ausinoe was stunned. She had no idea of whatever plagued this land, nor what traveling with these men meant. "I have come to this coast merely a month ago, and until tonight I had no idea that this place was even inhabited! And now you tell me of travel, of war, of darkness? Are you mad? What trickery is this? I have faced many who told lies to me, but I know not of what to make of this!"

"I am Cypherion Bloodkin,General of Ebonhold,I was trained by a mighty leader. One of the descendants of the Old Kingdom.I have avenged my father and took the leader's rightful place.I shall aid you in your battles, friend." He pointed to his spy,"This is my spy,Jhan Featherwalk. We wish not to threaten your kingdom. We wanted to know more." He looked at the man again."You see,Ebonhold is a peaceful and economic place. We wanted to know if you are worthy to be one of the Alliances of Ebonhold." He shaked Skorn's hand,"It is nice meeting you Skjorn."

Ausinoe was silent, her eyes wider than silver dollars. She knew she must be delusional at this point, the cold and hunger driving her mad. "Alaashru, I shouldn't have eaten those berries..." she muttered as she turned and gracefully bolted to the door.

(Odeklundr and Ebonhold already know each other, and Ebonhold does have a king, Reynald Skychaser, sorry I should have put that in the info thread, just remember that in future posts. Sorry ProxCnc)
(Is Ausinoe puking?)

(Oh thanks. And it no problem.Let's just say that the king wants to know more about Odeklundr.Because the MArch is on.And they want to be like, real BAF.Best Alliance Forever because they want someone to aid them in their attack or such.)

Cypherion stared at the lady,"It's your choice, lass. You go out,you die."He pointed at the dead orcs,"You know, their Worgs are still out there."He walked toward Ausinoe and pat her shoulder,"Calm down,we'll get this clear soon enough."

Ausinoe looked back with a confused glare, and realizing the power behind their threat, sighed. Deeply. She knew she only had one opition. She clasped her hands together, whispering words of power, and melted away into the shadows of the cavern. Her body melted into a swirl of darkness, the manifestation of her curse, the same curse she feared so much, so horribly. She knew the worgs would not find her as she blended into the darkness, a literal shadow person, with no physical form to bite and maim. She left the fortress as a wave of dark mist, leaving only her amulet behind.

Skjorn chased after her but at the mouth of the cave sat a horrible creature snarling and snapping,<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2013_05/image.jpg.92fcac35f913d23e127ae7bf454a05f0.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="1337" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2013_05/image.jpg.92fcac35f913d23e127ae7bf454a05f0.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

A northern Barghest, ferocious and rare goblin wolf hybrids, that are considered one of the deadliest creatures in Elaria. Skjorn slowly drew his axe.

"Steady now." Skjorn whispered to the others.

Ausione looked back at the men in her shadow form, now a mist of darkness. Her form could easily be mistaken for a puff of black smoke, and as such, she had made it past the beast easily. However, she knew that those men, the same ones she doubted as real or dream, had saved her life and given her food. Morally, she was inclined to help them.

(Shes REALLY a shadow person. LITERALLY a SHADOW. Oooh O_o)

Skjorn eyed the Barghest as if he were a wolf slowly circling the beast, tightly gripping his axe. The Braghest barked fiercely and Skjorn lifted his axe slowly. The creature leaped at him and they clashed on the ground, Skjorn punched the Barghest several times until he injured its right eye. He rolled to his feet and looked to Cypherion for aid.

Cypherion stood still and watched the lady run away without even knowing her name.Cypherion slowly drew his sword on his left hand and a greatsword on his right hand leaving his shield as a protection on the back.(I know right)"What should we do?"He slowly stepped on one foot closer to the beast.

Ausinoe resumed physical form, the same as before but for the streams of darkness flowing from her eyes. She summoned a white flame around the party, not willing to abandon the men who had helped her.
