Dancing soothes the soul

"Riley told me what he said was nothing important and that Lily was just overreacting but I know our daughter Jay. Little things don't bother her. From what she told me, she said Riley said you were stupid for the decisions you made and you were stupid for choosing me. Riley won't tell me what he said exactly but Lily was very upset Jay."

Jayden sighed. Where was this outbreak coming from? It was random in a sense. He sighed knowing this probably wasn't going to end well. "Lilly! Riley! Come down here." Jayden calls as he waited for them to slower he removed his coat and pulled out two chairs. "Sit." He says sternly before he went to stand against the counter. "Would one of you mind explaining to me what happened this morning?" He could tell by the way they were avoiding his eye contact they were frightened by his tone of voice.

Alyssa sighed and stood behind Jayden as she looked at Lily and Riley. Lily avoided her fathers eye contact and looked away, but soon she sighed. "Maybe Riley should learn when to hold his tongue." Lily said in a low voice as she heard Riley scoff. "It's my fault dad. I got ISS, I pushed Riley against the wall and I punched him. If anyone should be punished its me." Lily added as she looked at Riley and knew he wasn't expecting her to say that. "I did just over react." she added. Alyssa sighed because she knew what her daughter was doing.

Jayden nodded at her input and turned towards his son. "Is there anything you would like to say?" Riley shook his head still looking away from his farther. He felt like s little kid right now and it was embarrassing. "I see, so then you won't mind telling me just exactly what it was you said."

Lily stayed looking at her lap as her brother stayed quiet and shook his head. Alyssa decided to go and check on the clothes because she knew Jayden would get answers without her there. "Are we done?" Lily asked her father. She knew with what she just did, the chances of her being in drill team were slim now but she didn't care at this point.

"Not until someone speaks up, I have all night." Her father says with crossed arms. "What did you say Riley? If you made a mistake be mature and own up to it, you obviously know it was wrong or you wouldn't be avoiding my question." If you want j can just call the school and find out."

Lily sighed as she looked at Riley who just wouldn't budge. "I said I wasn't going to be dumb enough like you and give up football." Riley started as he sighed and stayed looking away from his father. "Mom was just a girl dad, they aren't important. I don't see why you chose her." he added. "So that's when Lily pushed me against the wall and said you chose mom because she made you truly happy but you know, watching someone die is something that makes any person truly happy." He stated in a sarcastic voice and Lily sighed. "That's it."

"I see, so my son thinks it's okay to do respect his mother?" Jayden fracked s grin out of anger. "Riley, if there is one thing you'll learn from your father it's respect, which you don't seem to have recently. You seek to think you're better than everyone else. So, until you learn respect you will have no privileges. No, phone, no money, and most importantly no football."

Lily looked over at their father then looked as Riley stood up quickly. "Of course I get punished and Lily doesn't. She's daddy's little princess so daddy won't punish her! I'm tired of it! I'm tired of all of it! Just because I'm Jayden Woods son doesn't mean I will be exactly like him! You ruin my life!" Riley exclaimed then ran up to his room. Lily looked at her lap then looked up and Jayden and saw his expression. "Dad, I'll give you my phone and I won't be on the drill team. Riley's right. I should be getting punished."

Jayden was no longer phased by their hurtful words,, he had heard it all by now. Turning to Lilly he didn't shake his authority. "Oh, I'm not done yet. You know it's wrong to put your hands on people, I expect better out of you Lilly, I'm highly disappointed in you." He knew for her that was punishment enough. She hated to hear those words from her parents. "Keep your phone but you're not going to the studio for a week." He knew that would hit her hard but he had to stand his ground. "Go to your room."

(Sorry for the sudden disappear! My phone was acting up so I decided to watch divergent again.)

Lily looked at her dad and sighed as she nodded and walked off to her room. When Alyssa came back down, she hugged her husband from behind and sighed. "What are we going to do with Riley?" She asked him and looked over at where the kids were sitting. What had gotten into them lately?

(I haven't watched that in awhile [emoji24])

Jayden shrugged. "I don't know honestly." He says with sigh as he pulled away dell her before he kissed her cheek. "Did you call to check on Bella today?" He asks changing the subject, not wanting to think about it.

(Omg I cry [emoji24])

Alyssa sighed as she nodded and tried to smile. "She's doing good and so is the baby but nothing yet." She told him. She was thinking about what Riley had said and how Jayden chose her over football. Alyssa tried so hard to get Jayden to choose football but it was her fault he walked off.

"You're not letting this get to you are you? That was years ago, it's just a game, he''ll understand one day, I used to think the same way." Jayden took her in a hug and nodded at her update of their expecting daughter. "I'll figure something out to come through to him don't worry."

Alyssa looked up at her husband and shook her head. "Of course not." She whispered as she sighed against his chest and nodded. She was letting it get to her but she needed to learn to just let it go. "I should start making dinner." She added.

Jay nodded and left her to her own devices. Head ing up the stairs he went up to Lilly's took to check on her. Was liking into the room he sat on the edge of the bed, "how was your try outs?"

"Fair. My legs been hurting dad and I don't know why." Lily said as she was reading a book just for fun. She looked over at her father and smiled softly. "I doubt I'll make it." She added.

Jayden laughed at his daughter's low confidence in herself'."You're really a better dancer than you give yourself credit for, have you been icing them like I told you too?" Her father assumed it to be muscle spasms from how much she was in the studio and practicing her routines.

"Um about that." Lily said as she laughed at her fathers look she received. "No not really." She told him and then yawned as she stretched out her legs. "But I'll do it after school. So does me not being in the studio mean I can't go to drill team practice if I made the team?" She asked him

Jayden sighed. "We'll see." Leaving her room for a moment he came back with the ice packs. "If you don't do this it'll only get worse." Jayden reminds her. Leaning over he kissed her forehead. He knew she meant well today with defending her parents but she took it too far with putting her hands on her brother. "You need to be careful, you could really take someone out honey." He says teasingly with a smile before he left her to her book to go check on her brother.

Lily laughed softly and nodded. "Oh I know." She said when her father walked out and continued reading her book while she left the ice packs on her legs. She was trying to enjoy the night by reading to get her mind off what happened today.

Riley was in his room tossing a basketball up then catching it as he laid in bed. He hated not having any privileges but he didn't care. What he said was true and he believed that.

Jayden knew how exactly his youngest son www feeling. His mother was the highest ranking attorney and his father, a highly respected medical professional, he understood it was unfair being compared but that didn't give him the right to say the things he said about his mother. "Sit up." His father says so he could check his injury to make sure it was nothing serious.

Riley looked over at his father and let the basketball drop to the floor and sat up. "It's just bruised." Riley said as he looked away from his father. He was so bored right now and honestly hated how his privileges were taken away.

"I'll be the judge of that." His father says taking a seat beside his son taking a look at the bruised skin and pressed on it to make sure nothing was ruptured m.

When his father pressed against the bruise, Riley sucked in a breath of pain as he pushed his fathers hand away. "That hurts don't do that." He said as he bit his lip.
