Fantasy Daemon Days OOC

I'm still sorting out my sheet. Though, before I do submit anything, how plausible is a C ranked daemon with little interest in combat owning a bookshop cafe?

That sounds cool, everyone could meet up and stuff. It might even by interesting for a couple kaiju's.

@Mega

Hello! So I've got a wonderful idea, if you're down. Just reading over your posts for Leon, and I think it'd be fun if we had Vulcan sponsor the character in the fight ring. Kinda like a good ol' rags to riches tale. (Insert trademark here.)

I kinda liked the idea after I saw that Leon was kinda considering to withdraw from the fights should they lose the next one, so I'm thinking, if you're interested that is, is after your next fight, win or lose, Vulcan approaches ya'll and pitch the idea to your characters. Just some ideas for you, if you don't like 'em, or don't see it going how you want, no issues. Just pitchin' plotlines.

I was actually considering asking you about that while I was writing that post XD  An issue I thought might arise though is that at the level m'boys are at, they're unlikely to be racking in the wins.  You'd have to provide some sort of training for them, and Vulcan, to be perfectly honest, doesn't seem like the kind of guy you would want training your kids.

I'm glad you get a good feel for the character.  :smile2:  That's 100% true, but we can kick around some ideas if we wanna pursue it. Could have Vulcan train your characters in secret. I 100% love the idea of Vulcan training up your characters, and even possibly them joining him waaaaay down the line if Vulcan decides to dispense some justice. Kinda like Batman training up a young Robin.

The vigilante thing is waaaaay down the line though, and we can talk it over later if we actually wanna do anything like that, but I think Vulcan's main motivation right now is merely amusement purposes. He's fairly bored, being an all-powerful Kaiju trapped without much to do.  So I think he would view Leon as a "potential hole to throw time and money into, and thats perfectly alright." Not insulting your character of course.  :smile5:

The Vigilante work could help us lead into APEX since @Ramjammer said they are the antagonist. Vulcan, for lack of entertainment, train them all once Apex starts to get very suspicious and since he can't do himself without severe consequences send in his "contractors" to strike justice for him.

No that's probably a pretty accurate description of how Leon would start out.  Yeah, he realizes he's kind of useless as a fighter, but as long as there's real money in it for him he wouldn't mind getting back in the arena.  Pfft, getting him to agree to a sponsorship would be as easy as throwing money at him, though depending on what exactly "training" entails, he might back out for his daemon's sake.

*creativity intensifies* Digging these ideas, they sound pretty sick.

I don't really imagine the training would be anything abusive. Just kinda like a wise old sage dispensing knowledge to a young pupil. In fact he might try to work with Leon's daemon more, and try to increase his power more, just because he knows how daemons work more than humans.

And in terms of cover stories and the sake of "employment", can totally have Leon work as a "secretary" at Vulcan's business, but really wouldn't be doing anything even remotely related to bookwork, Vulcan would just put him in the role for the sake of title only.

Just some ideas, but I'm digging this already!

Okay that's good to know, just wasn't sure how reliable Vulcan was on that front, considering he was willing to piss off his tail for the hell of it.  Depending on how early we're going to have our characters meet, you might have to contend with Leon already being employed at The Flying Tortoise (though it's totally possible he won't get the job).  Hopefully he's gonna have a date for an interview set up before he leaves the bar IC.

Accurate depiction of Vulcan showering Leon with money should he accept the deal

In terms of money, I think Vulcan could probably offer more financial stability, since he's got so much and barely uses any of it. If Leon is particularly business savvy and picks up on social cues, he could even extort Vulcan if he can tell Vulcan is desperate for some entertainment. If he isn't that savvy though, Vulcan would probably just toss around a pretty big sum at him to tempt him for the deal.

Well, Leon's not really the type to get greedy like that, I think as long as Vulcan offers something stable that's not only better than any regular job Leon could get, but also makes the arena seem worth it, Leon won't push the subject of money too much.  But either way it looks like Vulcan'll get his potential waste of money and time.

@Romulus Scipio Well, we are all at the bar now. Maybe give us some time to chat and learn each other's identies first (LOL) then you could pop in and say "Hey N_---, who's in need of training!" Or something like that. (LOL)

Eyyyy look more people!

And sorry for popping in so late. Been a bit busy and distracted today.

@Swiftfire It's perfectly okay for your Daemon to own a business! In fact I encourage you guys to talk about various places that your characters would visit in the city.

Just stay out of Lorette's office :U

Perfect! Alright, this is great. I'm looking forward to setting this up with your characters. Seems like a good time all around.

I would, but I don't think Vulcan would just be like "Ayo, lemme train up some bitches, leggo." I see the potential as first Vulcan would just pick up maybe one or two fighters just to sponsor in the ring for shits and giggles, and as shit starts to get more serious, he is like "hmmmm, maybe it's time for 'Dowey, Burnem, and Howe' to expand."

I also just have this hilarious image in my mind where Vulcan sees a poster for Leon's fight tomorrow, decides he'll stick around at the stadium to see some potential in the fighters, and like a whole section of the stadium clears out just to avoid Vulcan, leaving him sitting there all by himself with his legs crossed like "aaaaaalright, fuck all of you too."

Rasteva can't get Students to leave them the hell alone. During Finals Students leave offerings near Rasteva so that they don't end up like them and never graduate lmao.

And made up a new word....Well not a new word, but a somewhat interesting term in relation to this RP.

Thumper: Slang for a Daemon that specializes in Suppression. These Daemons are often hired on as Bouncers and Bodyguards as they exercise great skill in quickly nuetralizing and Dispersing other Daemons.

The short of it is, that sometimes Daemons get really rowdy and don't want to behave. Because they're not organinc, they cant be tranqulized like an organic creature. Suppressing a Daemon means taking it on and delivering a severe enough blow that it's Physical form will disperse. Daemons turn into sentient clouds of smoke when not projecting a pysical form so after they've been dispersed, the smoke is contained in some way, and the Daemon is kept in the container until they calm down. That's usually how Law enforcement deals with them.

In Underground Rings, sometimes there will be a venue that's hired on a Thumper. And they're on standby in the even that fights get out of control. When that happens, they jump in and smack the other Daemons around until they disperse. They don't bother containing them, since getting Dispersed is pretty embarassing for a Daemon, especially when they're trying to prove how much of a badass they are, so you'll just see a cloud of smoke sulking away somewhere.

Not all Illegal Venues have Thumpers, since they tend to charge a lot for their services however. But if you find a venue with a Thumper, they usually have a lot of money.
