Fantasy Cursed Island

Roy took to reading, as usually, and Emilia continued work on Siege's undergarments. Katsuo stood in the corner, looking like an armor display more than an actual person. Nidia played a bit of music, so long as no one complained.

"I believe we leave town tomorrow morning, yes?", Jalin asked, "We should sleep early, we have a long trip ahead of us." And if they wanted to leave before the sun was up, they'd have to wake even earlier so he and Roy could check the wagon and horses for spy magic. He didn't doubt the king's word, but the king wasn't overseeing this manually, so anything could have been slipped in.

Roy glanced over from his book. "Right." He took a moment to find a stopping point and mark his page before putting the book away. "I'll make sure the girls know." He brought up his amulet.

Siege and Emilia still had their amulets, but as Jalin had Nidias the third that lit up was in the boys' room.

"What?", Siege looked at her medallion as Roy called.

"Get to sleep. We need to get up early tomorrow."

Nidia paused and looked for her amulet as she noticed the other two light up.

"Got it," Siege brushed it off and disconnected. "Bedtime, girls."

"Oh," jalin frowned, "I still have Nidias amulet."

Emilia nodded. "I heard. I'll finish this tomorrow, I guess. Can you manage until then?"

Nidia frowned. "I think Jalin kept my amulet..."

Roy looked over at Jalin as the call ended. "You might want to give that back at some point."

"Yeah, I can wait," Siege nodded. She settled onto a bed and started to undress for bed.

"I think I will," Jalin nodded "Once I see her again."

"Alright." Emilia set her project neatly aside before settling down for bed.

Nidia shook her head. "I guess it's fine for now. I'll get it from him tomorrow."

"Right." Roy stretched out before settling in to sleep.

The lights went out once the majority of the group in each room went to bed, a bit of magic in the system.

Early the next morning as the group was roused from their sleep, Emilia found Sinach had migrated from where she'd left him to sleep to curling atop her chest, rising and falling with each breath she took in the night.

"Too damn early for this," Siege grumbled as she fumbled around for her clothes to get dressed, putting on her mana accessory before putting on her actual clothes.

Emilia didn't seem to mind Sinach's napping spot. She didn't try to move him, but she still had to move quite a bit to get ready for the day.

Nidia mumbled some agreement with Siege as she got ready, stifling a yawn.

Sinach eventually woke, though, yawning and kneading his claws a bit before he made his way back to his preferred perch of Emilia's shoulder.

"Ugh," Siege groaned as she poured a vial of the medicine into a cup and drank the contents. She made a face, "Ugh, morning mouth and rasberry." Not a good combination.

"It sounds as though the girls are awake," Jalin noted as he started getting dressed.

"Better than a hot morning." Nidia shrugged and took her dose, making a face. "Doesn't make it good though..."

Roy gave a nod. "Good. I hate dragging people out of bed." He tended to sleep in his robes, so he was ready fairly quick.

"No, it doesn't," Siege shuddered and started packing up to leave. "Emilia?"

"Turac," Jalin thumped the dragon's head with his cane, making the eldest of the Chimer siblings snort and sneeze himself awake as Jalin strolled out to wait for the others in the tavern below.

Emilia glanced over. "Hm?"

Katsuo followed after Jalin, but Roy stayed in the room to make sure nothing got left behind.

"You amost ready?"

"It's too early for this," Sinach grumbled, settling down on Emilia's shoulders to try and get some more sleep.

"Almost." Emilia took some time to brush her hair and straighten her dress, checking to make sure she had everything before nodding. "Ready."

Once everyone was ready, they headed downstairs to get down to work, break time over as they headed towards the north gate to go see what the king had arranged for their wagon and horses.

At the northern gate, just inside the walls, there was a stable. A large, covered wagon sat waiting, with a horse already hooked up to it. A mouse man was currently double checking everything to make sure it was in proper condition.

"Ah," Turac smiled seeing the wagon. It looked nice, very well build, definitely sturdy enough to handle unpaved roads. "Good morning!"

The mouse looked over at them, standing upright as he turned to wave. "Good morning. Can I help you?"

"Yes," Turac smiled and gestured to his group, "We're the party that helped the king yesterday?"

"Hm? Ah, of course! You match the description." He stepped to the side and pat the side of the wagon. "Well, it's all yours. Everything's where it needs to be, and it's ready to head out when you are." He paused. "Ah, at least one of you knows how to drive a wagon, right?"

"I am familiar," Turac nodded. Seeing the looks on the others faces, he shrugged, "What? Mom and dad traveled by wagon when I was little!"

"Whatever," Siege shrugged, "Looks like we've got a driver."

The mouse nodded. "Alright, then you're all set. Safe travels." He turned and headed off to other work.
