Fantasy Cursed Island

"Emilia," Adran frowned, "Tell us the truth, you know if they touched you I'll open a gateway to the Hells under them." The way the room darkened a bit, influence of his demonic magics, showed he was seriously considering erasing a ship from this Plane.

"Nidia!", Veo sat besides Bastet on the bench, "You better not be in a hurry! And no boys!" She looked up as Emil approached, "She's wasted! Can you believe this?"

Emilia nodded. "I am telling the truth, nothing happened. I was just talking to soften them up so they'd get wasted in port and then we could steal the captain's treasure."

"...I'm not sure if I should be more or less concerned..."

Emil raised an eyebrow as he settled in with the others. "Is that true, Nidia?"

Nidia shook her head. "If I was wasted, I wouldn't have managed to call you. Come on, mom, you know I can handle my drink. All I had was one pint and then just one little sip. And the only boys around are Roy and Jalin. And technically Katsuo."

Adran blinked, "Hang on, back up, you did what with the pirates?"

"Nidia," Veo narrowed her eyes, "I will cross an ocean if you make me have to."

"You guys are really loud, you know that?", Siege groaned, reaching for a pillow to clap over her ears, ending up with the back of Emilia's dress.

"I talked to them."

"No, after that."

"Oh, their captain has a-eep!" Emilia glanced back at Siege. "Siege, not now, I'm in a call."

"But you don't have to! I'm being careful, I swear. I was playing music most of the time, and I can't drink and play my flute at the same time."

"What?", Siege groaned.

"What's Siege doing?", Adran leaned closer to the mirror to get a better look, "SIEGE!"

"Oh, my gods, WHAT!?", Siege flew into an upright sitting position, "I ain't done shit, don't you yell at me you old ass creep!"

"Keep it that way," Veo crossed her arms, wincing when she heard Adran and Siege shouting at each other, "She's drunk, isn't she?"

“Siege, you were tugging on my dress.”

Erina giggled. “Oh my. I didn’t realize you had that sort of relationship. And so soon.”

Nidia nodded. “Yeah, she did get wasted. But she was seasick the whole way here, so I guess I can’t blame her for wanting to forget. And yes, I gave her the seasick potion.”

"Don't put your ass where the pillow's supposed to be, then," Siege grumbled as she laid back down, not realizing she was laying in the exact opposite positio for her head to be anywhere near the actual pillow.

Adran was in stunned silence for a moment, "She better be slap-ass drunk, or I'm gonna reach through this mirror and smack her."

Veo sighed, "You've got the recipe for hangover cures, right?"

Emilia looked at the mirror again and nodded. “Yeah, she got slammed. She wasn’t the one picking pockets, so she just let loose.”

Nidia nodded. “I do. I didn’t expect anyone to be hungover this soon though, so I didn’t make one ahead of time. Hopefully there’s an alchemy shop in this city that’ll let me use their equipment.”

Adran sighed, "Just be safe, Spindles, don't let me find out anyone hurt you that you didn't hurt back worse."

"Alright," Veo nodded, "Take care of them, they'll take care of you." She looked up as more orders were rung up, I've gotta get back to work, be safe." She vanished off-screen to go cook and deliver food and drink.

Emilia nodded. "Don't worry, I will. This spider's got fangs." She smiled to show her teeth.

Erina giggled. "That's my girl."

Nidia nodded and waved. "Bye, mom!"

Emil watched her go before looking at Nidia. "We should get back to work as well. It was good to see you. Be safe. And...maybe save the exiting parts of your stories for when you're home." He lowered his voice. "I don't think she's noticed yet, but Veo's put on some weight from the comfort food..."

Nidia giggled. "Alright, I'll keep that in mind."

Emil smiled at her. "Be safe." He waved and headed back to work, leaving Nidia and Bastet to say their goodbyes and end the call.

"Be careful," Adran chuckled, then paused as they could hear something crashing in the distance. "Damn imps." He sighed, "Alright, I gotta go make sure they're not trying to tunnel into the bakery again, be safe sweetie." Adran blew a kiss at the mirror before leaving the room.

"Bye, Daddy!"

"I should lend a hand as well. I'll let Lyak know you said hi."

"Thanks, mom. Bye!" Emilia waved as they ended the call.

"Your family's real loud," Siege groaned, rolling over to go back to sleep once the lights were out.

-------------

Morning came, and with it a call on the amulets from Jalin. Both Jalin and Sal were in view when it appeared, dressed and cleaned up. "Who is awake?", Jalin asked as amulets lit up.

Katsuo appeared from Roy's amulet. Emilia's hand could be seen, accompanied by some grumbles, but she otherwise was not present. Katsuo spoke up. "You are alive. Good to know. Though it seems something happened."

"Yes, well," Jalin looked at Sal then back at the amulet, "I have been negotiating. Wake up the others, we need to talk."

Katsuo nodded and looked across the room. "Roy."

"I heard. Give me a moment." Roy rolled over and stretched before getting up.

"Mm. And the rest of you as well."

Emilia lifted her head to look at the amulet, letting out a yawn before she got up to rouse the other two.

Siege proved difficult to wake, and very grumpy as the hangover kicked in, "Ow, shit..." she held her head, "You'd think I'd be used to this part by nnow," she grumbled as she squinted at her amulet's projection, "What do you want?", She sat up and scratched her side absentmindedly as she tried to get the multiverse to stop spinning and the light to dim.

"I have negotiated terms," Jalin said, "Sal has already agreed, but..." he gestured to the group, "It is you six that decide." He laid out the terms. Sal would keep her stone and Jalin's amulet, in turn be on call for emergencies and come once they had gathered the stones.

The others listened to the proposal. Roy didn't look particularly impressed, but he didn't seem against it either. "Well... Having a reliable ship could come in handy in the future, should we have to cross the sea again."

Emilia nodded. "And Jalin gets to keep in touch with his girlfriend."

Sal immediately spoke up. "Alright, none of that. Otherwise your next trip on my ship will be spent tied to the mast."

"Oh, she'd probably love that," Siege grumbled, still holding her head.

"We are not a... unit," Jalin said.

"Well," Sinach crawled into view on the table, "It looks like you've been outdone, Nidia."

Nidia shook her head. "I have not, because it's not a competition. Nor was I trying. Besides, I'm happy for them."

Sal leaned in. "What did I just say?"

Sinach found that immensely funny, for some reason. Jalin, in turn, was glad he had perfect control of his circulatory system so he could keep his face from changing color. "You do realize you are raising the ire of a shark?"

"Yeah, yeah," Sinach chuckled, "It's just funny. But I hope your girlfriend knows she's gonna have a hell of a time trying to tie up a book."

Sinach narrowed his eye ridges as Sal threatened to burn him. "Good luck."

"Roy's right," Jalin sighed, "We're a team, let's not kill each other until the corruption arc."

"Did you just make a literary reference?", Siege looked up and winced at the light from the lantern, "Ow."

"Ideally, let's not have a corruption arc. In any case, no one's arguing against this proposal, so I'll take that to mean we agree. Sal will get to keep her Dragonstone, and we'll get in touch when we have the others."

Jalin nodded. "I'm glad you didn't argue against this plan." He stepped back from the amulet to go remove his cane from the door and retrieve it, letting in the sounds of the hungover crew groaning at the morning sun. "Where can I expect to meet the rest of you?"

"North gate," Siege said quickly, "There's a trade route, we'll be able to travel safely." Even if she'd been drunk, she paid attention to her short-term drinking buddies last night.
