Fantasy Cursed Island

"I suppose it is a remain of three minds becoming one," Joanne sheathed her longsword, "You are used to chaos."

Joanne nodded and gave Asta a pat on the back, "You are unlikely to be harmed by many things in this dungeon, but if you continue to learn at this rate you will be able to rival many in the outside world within a year."

Adran rang the lunch bell as he put food on the table, calling the party back to the main camp to eat. Jerry was nowhere to be seen, but Nalla made an appearance.

On the way to the food table, Niudisa took notice of Shuffle’s new clothes and stopped her, taking a moment to put the fireproof enchantment on the outfit before they both continued on to the table.

As almost everyone was gathered to eat, Asta paused as he looked around. “Has anyone seen Jerry?”

"I have not," Beri shook his head, "She walked past us at the work table and vanished."

"I'm sure she'll come around," Adran shrugged, "I'll keep a plate for her when she comes back."

Poli spoke up as they climbed up onto the table for their share. “She headed out into the trees, but she didn’t say why.”

"I am sure Jerry will return," Nalla smiled, "The chieftain who abandons his tribe is no better than bad bloods."

Asta shook his head. “I’ve no doubt that she intends to return, but if she goes too far from these springs, there will be danger.”

"She's smarter than that," Emfa rolled her eyes, "I bet she's just having a walk in the woods, this entire cave is springs."

“Mmm...”

Emil spoke up. “It’s fine that you’re concerned for her, but she does know how to look after herself when she needs to.”

"Indeed," Joanne agreed, "Prior to arriving in these ruins, Jerry had been by herself for many years. One afternoon in the safety of the springs yields little danger to one so accustomed."

Joanne smiled and returned her attention to her food.

"Niudisa, do we have a timeframe on how long before you have finished your project?", Joanne asked.

Niudisa looked over at her. “If I work through the night, I should have it done some time tomorrow.”

“Nyah has offered to help me, so I should be done before tomorrow night. Unless anyone changes their mind about not wanting something made.”

"That is good," Joanne nodded, "I believe we shall be ready to move on after that, then, unless anyone else has something they need to accomplish?"

"I do, but it shouldn't take more than a couple days, at most," Adran shrugged, "That phoenix destroyed too many of my arrows, so I'm replacing them and the quiver, that takes time to make the feathers work properly."

"And I am performing my own rituals," nalla added, "It should not take more than three days unless I am interrupted."

Joanne sighed and closed her eyes, "Does anyone else have a project they would like to disclose?"

"Anyone at all?", Joanne crossed her arms.

"I've got a project until at least the day after tomorrow," Jerry called as she walked out of the edge of the grove, hair wet and dripping a bit but otherwise fine.

Corona raised an eyebrow as she looked over at Jerry. “Go for a swim?”

Shuffle spoke up. “Without me?”

"No," Jerry shook her head, "I was looking for something." She didn't elaborate on what she was looking for when asked, but she did tell Adran she needed a favor from him later. "And Shuffle I doubt I'm doing anything with you and water for a while."

Shuffle paused before putting her ears back and lowering her head. "I'm sorry..."

Corona spoke up. "If she had an actual swimming partner, she might not have to drag people into the water."

Jerry rolled her eyes and sat down next to Asta and started filling a plate. Veo put a hand on Shuffle's shoulder to reassure her that she wasn't in trouble.

Shuffle smiled again, recovering quickly thanks to Veo and the food. The rest of the group kept eating as they had been.

Once lunch was over and the food cleaned up, groups split off once again, Jerry reclaiming Poli when it was all said and done.
