Christian’s smile slowly faded when Del asked him why he lied. Christian averted his gaze. “Er.... you see, uh...” he said, trying to find the words he wanted. “I... never showed anyone... my demons. I’ve always hid them.. even from my parents,” Christian said. “Truth is... you’re the first person to ever see what my real powers are. Well.. I guess our class is gonna find out soon enough anyway but... they didn’t see what you saw. I was afraid because.. I didn’t want you to see that I was a monster.. or rather just monsters,” he said. “And I like you,” he blurted out without thought. His face began to burn up. “I think... you’re really nice, and stunning, and caring and a great person and you give me peace at mind and a whole bunch of other amazing stuff but... I didn’t want you to turn me away because of what my powers are...” Christian finally admitted. It really sucked to be here, spilling his guts to her. It made him feel vulnerable and that was terrifying but... it was the right thing to do and like he said... he owed it to her. Charcoal_Lilly50 Charcoal_Lilly50

Delta was rather shocked by what Christian was telling her regarding his reasoning behind not sharing why he never spoke of his powers, especially that his parents don't know. But her cheeks quickly grew rosy red when he spoke of his feelings towards her. She was stunned, and silent. In her silence she slowly stood up on the ground before starting to close the space between them by walking over towards the blonde. Once directly in front of him she stared a bit at him, still not having spoken. When she looked down towards his torso, Delta quickly wrapped her arms around it. Pulling him closer and tighter as she hugging him, her chin was now propped up on his chest so she could look him. Cheeks still red with blush. "I don't think you're a monster," she told him with a smile, "And when I see you the only thing I do see is you. But I'm glad you finally told me the truth, I know it must have been difficult." A small, yet delighted, huff escaped through Delta's close lipped smile as she looked up at Christian.

Christian was shocked when Del hugged him. This was the last thing he expected anyone to do. But it was what Delta did and that was all that mattered to him. He wrapped his arms around her a rested his head above hers. Then she looked at him with a crimson blush settling on her cheeks. It must’ve been contagious cause he felt his face reddening too after looking at her deep ocean blue eyes. He couldn’t help but smile. She saw him for who he was... not any of the others. Not exactly the 'best' presentation he could've made on his first day but at least nobody was scowling at him for being a hybrid but then again... None of them gave the perception of being similar to him as far as 'species', hints of fluff and hair peaking out of classmate's ears was just one of the clear indications that he was 'special' but nonetheless this didn't discourage him, if anything he had been more motivated than ever to achieve greatness among his fellow peers in addition to gaining friendship along the way. Smirking softly at the idea, Devon eagerly ruffled through his backpack before snatching up a spiral note book and a ballpoint pen that comfortably snuck in between his fingers as he carried on jotting down several of the teacher's lectures that were written on the board. Whispers played out like an orchestra throughout the classroom as he continued making notes, albeit it was somewhat irritating to have distractions while trying to learn but at least it would give him the opportunity to learn about the students around here! Well, it would've been rather exciting if it weren't for the fact that it was small talk about another's horrid tragedy, Devon's perked ears catching only momentary glimpses of the poor girl's dilemma. "Did you hear about her parents?! It was all over the news!" One of them said, another responding with "I heard it was awful, especially what they looked liked after." It was only a matter of time until the girl a couple desks away from him 'bursted' into a cascade of tears that dripped down the sides of her face as she rushed out of the classroom, leaving many of the students and even the teacher in a state of regret for the girl's situation. A soft frown carved into his face as he remembered the similar pain of his grandfather's passing, he couldn't just let her wallow in her own sadness, Devon thought as he raised his hand. "Um, sorry for interrupting, I just have to use the bathroom." He said, feeling a bit guilty about lying through his teeth but understanding it was the only way of catching up to the girl and comforting her.

After Devon removed himself from the classroom he shyly trailed behind her making so he wouldn't be seen until he made it outside and into the garden's enclosure where he stood in silence behind one of the pillars, watching and listening to the saddening but alluring singing that hugged his ears with content.
Being the self-conscious person that he was, he'd waited only just after to reveal himself and sit on one of the bulky granite benches once she was done singing her gloomy melody. "Sorry... I hope I didn't startle you at all." Devon looked at her briefly before awkwardly looking up at the clouds above, avoiding a bit of unnecessary eye-contact as he spoke. "I know what it's like, you know? Losing someone you love. It's feels as if someone had just tore a piece of you out, a piece that you can never get back. But it doesn't mean that they're gone forever, they're always with you, supporting you through every step you decide to take." He said on heartfelt words with his wandering eyes looking around at the chirping birds soaring from tree to tree. "My name is Devon, i'm kind of new here and a tad bit different too.. I hope you don't mind me sitting here." Devon smiled softly, hoping that she would allow him to speak with her.

She just turned around as she saw a boy from her class as she sighed” it’s hard you know I’m staying with my cousin today was my first day too” she say” people are mean at times” she say as she looked at him” I’m Isabelle people call me iz or Izzy” she says” I usually play piano” she told him” I miss them my parents they were everything to me but now I’m staying with my cousin she’s helping me get through this” at least your not one of those mean kids I just couldn’t listen to them talking to my parents like that makes me mad” she say placing her hand on her heart as she smiled a little” thank you for coming out here to check on me I think I be okay” she told him while looking at him as she was sitting with him while they were talking SidTheSkid SidTheSkid

"My my, I guess I'm not the only one whose face feels a bit hot," she snickered softly when she noticed Christian's cheeks grow red with his own blush. Watching him tilt his head down to look at her, Delta couldn't help but to gaze into the boy's own baby blue eyes. Then seeing Chris smile, it made her heart seemingly thump louder. "You're much cuter when you smile," Del softly pointed out to him with a smile. It was true though, the boy's smile only added on to his appeal in her eyes. But soon enough, an idea popped into the girls head, an idea that made her heart beat faster. Gazing up at him, the rather carefree Delta started to get nervous, "Christian," her heart was thumping even louder now, "Would you like to go on a date? With me? Tonight, maybe?"

Beautiful chirping birds, wondrous trees sprouting up all around, and the lovely non-polluted summer wind that filled his lungs full of energy. Definitely a change from the swamped streets of New Jersey but overall a pleasant change, especially when it came to the people that inhabited this island! Devon expected this girl to completely ignore him as if he was some sort of freak of nature and brush him off his shoulder like a leaf but instead she actually acknowledged his existence unlike those that he went to school with prior. A light red-hue flustered his cheeks as he noticed her looking back at him, for once he had someone speaking to him. Devon didn't know what to do or how to react! The only thing he could do at the moment was patiently place his palms over-top of his strong knees as he paid attention to what she had to say. Isabelle or Izzy she called herself, kind of a cute name he thought as she mentioned her passion for musical and musical instruments in general such as the piano. Devon's face immediately became flustered after Isabelle had thanked him for his compassion, never did he felt so appreciated in all of his life! He could feel his nervous disposition manifesting over his face in a blushing fashion. "Um. You're welcome!" He gulped, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand before letting out a nervous sigh in response to figuring out what to respond with.

"Thanks for letting me sit beside you! Piano huh? Heh, I wish I was that talented with instruments, I use to play an acoustic guitar when I was younger but it never really stuck with me." He said, looking back at the distant blissful memories of his adolescent years before snapping back to the present. "I'm glad that you have someone like your cousin to support you, I don't exactly know anyone here! Well except for you somewhat." Devon chuckled softly as he stood up from the stone seat, stretching his arms up above his head as he yawned lightly. "I'll have to listen to you play piano one day but in the meantime, maybe we should head back to class? I wouldn't want any of us to get in trouble, that and I'd hate for you to forget your stuff that you left back in the classroom." It almost felt as if a sturdy weight had been dropped off his shoulders for the first time, at long last someone who can relate to him? Or at the very least someone who he can call a potential friend?

Christian’s eyes glimmered when Del asked him on a date. His smile could only widen. “Would I?” Christian said with a laugh. The blood rushes through his ears like a raging river. What was the worst day of his life had suddenly just become the best. It just felt like every second that passed only made Del blow Christian away even more. She’s surprised him at every turn. He looked at Delta with a beaming grin. “You look a lot cuter when you’re nervous,” he said, with a mischievous flare. Christian’s heart wouldn’t stop bouncing around in his chest. Even his cheeks began to hurt from smiling so much. “Anywhere you want, if you’re there, I couldn’t be happier,” Christian said finally. Charcoal_Lilly50 Charcoal_Lilly50

When he talked about her nervousness, Delta snuck her tongue out a bit in a playful manner. Giggling when she stopped her goofy action. "Well I did promise to show you around since you're new here. And believe it or not we actually have a small town not to far from campus that has a few restaurants, shops, and other places for us students to hang out at. But why don't we spend the evening exploring the town? Maybe even get dinner?" She slowly let go of him, forgetting that they had still been hugging this entire time. As she slipped out of his arms however, her hands made their way to his. Intertwining their fingers as she led both of his hands.

Christian let his hand become intertwined with Del’s. It was a rollercoaster of a day already but he felt lighter. Much lighter. A huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders. “That sounds like a plan to me,” Christian said, nonchalantly. A few clouds freckled the sky but despite that, it was a beautiful day. For the first time in his life, he felt.. proud of his powers. Christian didn’t even know what to do with himself at this point. He couldn’t help but laugh. “To think that I could have this much luck,” he said, amused. He looked at Del and smiled warmly. Charcoal_Lilly50 Charcoal_Lilly50

Woah?! Did he just manage to make her smile? For the first time instead of scaring off students and creeping them out he was able to cheer one up! However the most astonishing part was that she offered to go out and see a movie with him. No way! Devon blankly stared at her, only blinking out of complete shock before coming to his senses. "S-sure!" His voice shuddered gracelessly as he attempted to wrap his head around the idea of hanging out with a student he'd just met especially a female student who'd taken an interest in him. "Also you don't have to worry about me, i'm about as harmless as can be! Ha! I couldn't be mean to you even if I wanted to be." He explained, reaching his right hand downward into his pocket and shuffling through his belongings before grabbing a hold of a piece of notebook paper then writing down his phone number and handing it over to Isabelle with a gentle smirk brushing against his cheeks.

"Here ya go! Now you'll be able to call me or text me whenever you're ready to go to the movies or something!." Devon gradually sat back down beside her, wandering his hands behind his head before nonchalantly bringing his eyes in front of him to watch the wildlife frolic around the garden. "Isabelle? I hope you don't mind me asking but... What type of hybrid are you? I can't seem to put my finger on it. From what i've seen around here there's a lot of cat and wolf type creatures." He questioned, stroking his chin in complete curiosity as he wondered about her.
    ( Texangamer Texangamer ~ Isabelle )

Delta gazed up at and titled her head a bit to the side out of confusion, but she smiled nonetheless. "I don't really think luck played a big part in this, but it had a role in it. Sometimes things are just meant to play out the way they do," she commented, "But that's just my opinion." Suddenly her phone vibrated in her pocket, which caused her to look down. Away from Christian. "I'm so sorry," Del apologized as she let go one of Chris' hands and pulled her phone out of her pocket. After unlocking it she sighed when she saw the message, "It seems that Isabelle did as we did and left class. But she left because students apparently have heard of her parents' accident. I guess she went back to my dorm though to calm down." Hitting the lock button on her phone, Delta slipped it back into her pocket before returning her blue eyed gaze back up to Christian.

She just smiled as she saw his number her face felt a bit hot as she was blushing she really liked him” um do you want to walk back to my dorm we can go to the movies around 6 or 7” she say happily she was excited about having a friend she can talk to about losing her parents” oh I think I’m angel I’m not to sure I just grew my wings” she say showing him her wings” my cousin controls water I’m not really sure yet I will find out” she say SidTheSkid SidTheSkid

An Angel? Now he's heard it all! He could comprehend the fact that there was plenty of other hybrid creatures like himself but an actual angel? How could that be? Although he found it very difficult to believe Devon still placed a good amount of faith in her word, after all she is the first person to actually give him a chance. "Well..." He muttered from his lips, bewilderment filling his lungs like a hot-air balloon as he thoroughly inspected her dazzling wings with his eyes, they were unlike anything he had ever seen before! There was no doubt about it, she was either an angel or something similar to one.

"You definitely have a singing voice like one!" Devon complimented, blushing a tiny bit from his cheesy remark as he got back up off from the bench and onto both of his feet where he sauntered onward to the double-doors across from them. "I'm sure traveling with you back to the dormitories would be quite entertaining! Sure! Let's go right now, we can talk about what kind of movie we can watch." This vacation was surely turning into something beautiful, it was already day one and he felt as if he could stay here forever, New Jersey was just a thing of the past for him as Crystal Island was now what he truly considered to be home.

Christian took a moment to ponder what Del had said. “You know... there’s more truth to that than I realized...” he said. Christian smiled again then realized Isabelle had texted Del. “Oh, it’s fine,” but raised an eyebrow when she mentioned Isabelle’s parents. “Wait... accident? What do you mean? Don’t tell me...” Christian said, almost afraid to finish his thought but if what he feared was true... that would explain her quiet demeanor. It would explain it a LOT. No, it had to be something else. The girl doesn’t deserve it. Christian anxiously waited for Del’s response for as to what happened to Izzy’s parents. Charcoal_Lilly50 Charcoal_Lilly50

She just looked at him as she smiled looking around as she tucked her wings back as she grabbed her stuff” I’m excited about seeing a movie how about we go see the greatest showman I have to ask my cousin if I can go out though” she say scratching her head” I can’t fly i don’t know how to my cousin says my powers would come eventually” she say SidTheSkid SidTheSkid

"Oh, I don't believe you got the chance to hear about that," Delta mumbled rather sadly, "You see, her parents got into a car accident a week or so ago. They um... They didn't make it. So Isabelle moved here to this school due to the fact that I'm here, and because she has powers of her own that are still developing." The girl grew silent, having looked at her phone seemed to put a damper on the pleasant moment Christian and her were sharing, "I'm sorry for throwing a wet blanket on the mood. I didn't mean for that to happen."

Christian furrowed his brow in concern. “Oh....” was all he was able to manage. “I take it she wants to take a moment to just be by herself?” Christian asked, trying to think of what would be best for now. “If you want to check up on her we could do that, I don’t mind at all, I promise,” he offered. Christian really hoped Isabelle could find the strength to be happy again after losing her parents. “Hey, listen don’t worry about it. Thanks for telling me,” Christian told her reassuringly. Where were his manners? He didn't even explain what kind of hybrid he was but instead rudely asked this young girl without even hesitating, Devon shook his head in disbelief before pivoting around on the back of his heels, fully turning him in the direction of Isabelle with a skittish impression crawling amidst his face as he leisurely brought his zipper down the middle of his smoky-colored bomber jacket then shrugging his shoulders backwards almost instantly causing the costly jacket to drop behind him and resulting in four-sets of wings uplifting from his muscular backside. Trifling specs of dust and pebbles 'slingshotted' aimlessly from the updraft, skidding across the grassy floor as his hardened fore-wings and hind-wings rapidly fluttered about behind him giving off a soft blur as they gained momentum. "I forgot to mention! I'm a weird type of hybrid, at first glance you'd think i'm a bird but nope! I'm part Dragonfly! Sounds kind of odd right? But even that being said, it has it's advantages, being able to fly around pretty quickly can be a life-saver sometimes!" Devon laughed, shielding away quartet of wings, folding them neatly onto his backside before soundlessly picking up his bomber jacket and putting it back over his body and zipping it back up.

"I hope me being an insect doesn't bother you at all, since you know... Some people have a tendency to get really 'grossed' out by them." He said, releasing a hefty sigh at the thought as decided to change the subject back to the idea of the movie, not wanting to make the conversation's ambiance become deluged in worry. "Greatest showman? Oh i've seen previews for that before coming here, that sounds like a great movie! Hopefully your cousin takes a liking to me." Devon mentioned while leading her back into the hallway, guiding both of them outside to the courtyard. Focusing back on the earlier conversation, it wasn't rare to see someone having difficulty with being able to fly, even Devon had difficulty flying when he was younger but maybe he could teach her? "Hmm.. I've been thinking... Perhaps I can teach you how to fly? Or your cousin if it makes you feel more comfortable, i'm unsure if your cousin has wings though.." After walking for a short-distance they finally made it to the dorms where Devon was greeted with a behemoth-sized building, reminiscent of a large four to five star hotel. Crystal island sure had a little bit of everything, nearly everywhere he went there was always something amazing lurking around the corner.
    ( Texangamer Texangamer - Isabelle)

The brunette gave a small shake of her head, "No, I believe she'd like to be by herself right now. If she wanted me to be there with her she would have asked me or told me where she was. But judging by how she told me neither one in her text, I'll take it that she is doing better than I'd expect." Though, when he thanked her for telling him about the situation, Delta gave a small smile, "You're welcome." There was a small moment of semi-silence, the only noise coming from the fountain as water flowed out of the top and splashed into the pool under it. A playful smile crept across her lips as she glanced at the fountain momentarily, "Do you want to see a trick I've been working on?" Eyes on him when she finished speaking, and one could catch the small glint of mischief they held.

Christian smiled back at Del. “Trick? Give it your best shot,” he said with a chuckle. His eyes took the time to make note of the fountain. Christian hadn’t gotten much of a chance to see the full extent of Del’s power but he knows enough about Del’s wits thanks to her episode with Payn. Whatever truck she has in mind is bound to astound him. Christian looked back at Delta with an eager grin. “Fire away, no pun intended,” he said with a playful wink. Delta smiled as she let go of Christian's other hand before taking a few steps backwards. Once a few feet from him, her blue eyes closed. Taking a deep breath caused her entire body to start relaxing, along with water to overflow out of the fountain. But it didn't just fall around the outside of the structure. Instead the water hovered towards Delta before pooling a bit under her feet. When enough had form underfoot, her eyes slowly opened. The girl crouched down and touched the water with a single finger before it quickly froze over. "Now, here's the fun part," her voice soft when she spoke. Del sat on her knees and placed her hands on the cold ice. Then slowly, the ice started to lift off the ground, foot by foot. The girl was flying using the piece of ice, "Cool, huh? I'm still trying to get the hang of it though. Work in progress," gazing down a bit the smiled at Christian.
