Crisis Prelude

(no problem)

"That...could work." She says, thinking. " Theres still the matter of what would happen when we get to wutai...they'll definatly investagate us, and the soliders will see our faces and weget on...we need to take out the soliders on the deck." She says

"Leave that to me. You take care of summoning the thing, I'll get rid of these fools."

Victor hefted his spear and ran up to deck, screaming at the top of his lungs.

Scarlet nods, closeing her eyes and concentrating. After a little while, she can feel the magic slowly begin to form while the soliders begin to fight Victor, shouting 'STOP'

Victor had skewered two people on his ungodly shish-kebab of a spear. He was shaking them off when he heard Scarlet yelling. "What do you want now! I'm kinda busy!"

"That wasn't me, that was them!" She says. , shking her head and focusing back on the summons. "Let this world become but a bowl of mist, that bahamut may come drink his fill!" She intoned. There comes a roar, and a dragon falls from the sky, landing on the deck. "That's our ticket out!" She says, jumping on the dragon and pettging it."

"Well what're you waiting for?" Victor jumped on it, clinging to a spike. "Get it moving!"

"Youll forgive me if i didn't take dragon riding lessons!" She retorted. " Bahamut rose in the air, flapping its wings, which were powerful enough to create shockwaves, they set sail, much to Scarlets delight. "This is fun!"

"Yeah! If we don't fall off!" Regardless of his cynicism, he actually found the ride enjoyable. Bahamut seemed to know what he was doing, at very least.

The trip lasts only a few short hours, thanks to this dragon, but Scarlet is growing weaker and weaker de to providing bahamut with continual mana. "She yawns. "This isn't....good, " She says, Bahamut safely landing on the very outskirts

Scarlet shakes her head. " I can't drop here...my mother would kill me." She huffs, forcing herself to stand up. "They would have followed Bahamuts path...we need to get out of this area and into a town, somewhere we can stay hidden."

Victor steps in front of her. "You are no good to the operation dead. What your mother thinks does not matter, because if there's a squadron of Wutai troops in the brush, I can only kill half of them before you die. Rest. Don't worry, if something happens, I'll tell you."

She takes a breath, nodding and curling up in the sand, yawning. "Alright, I'll trust you." She says with a laugh, yawning. "I on't sense anyone yet, so we're good for at least an hour." She says, before crashing.

Victor sat, looking out at the beach. It was as if the other world, Midgar, didn't even exist. He stabbed his spear into the sand, leaning on it. He sat like that for an hour maybe, before he felt a stinging pain run up his arms and down his spine. He didn't think much of it at first, until a larger one came, and knocked him out.

There is silence for a short time. As Scarlet is passed out, some Wutai troops manage to show up, following the pathline.

Danger

Scarlet's eyes snap open she she sits up, only to get punched in the chest. The breath knocked out of her, they use the time to handcuff her and drap her over the arms on one of them.

She takes a breath, casting Raise on Victor. "Help..." She says weakly.

He could hear Scarlet calling for help, on the fringes of his consciousness. He could barely move, barely think, how could he help anyone? But then, like a weight being lifted, the pain ceased. He stood up, seeing her being carried away. Man, something happened alright. He started by impaling the man carrying her. He knocked the butt of his spear into the other infantryman, knocking him onto the sand, dispatching him with a slit throat.

Scarlet finally manages to regain her breath. She focuses, heating her chains until they split apart. "Thank you." She says, getting up. She turns to a Wutai person, kicking him. "And thank YOU for the new matching bracelets." She cursed at him. She turns, shocking another one. "It's imprtant we kill those trying to comminicate...we cant handle backup."

"...Sorry. I...well, I don't think..." Victor fell silent, placing the spear on his back.

"Don't worry about ti." She laughs, rubbing her stomach where she got hit. "More importantly what happened? Why did you pass out too?" She asks. "We can't keep watch if both of us are alseep, you know."

"Jenova...I feel like I'm dying..." He rolled up his sleeve. Black tendrils now reached down over the back of his hand, and his arm were now almost filled with the same black veins. He looked at Scarlet. "What's happening to me?"

"I don't know the actual term for it, but Jenova is trying to take over. When they attacked My peo...the Cetra were turned into monsters by these cells." She said. She puts her hand on his arm, casting a spell. "I've come up with a spell that eliminates a good amount of these cells. I can't erase them altogether, though, so this pain will return eventually." She says with smile.

For a second, it seemed the spell was working. The veins retreated, and some even disappeared. But he felt weaker, much weaker than when he was in pain.

"Stop!" he said, shoving her away. "I won't be any good if not strong enough to walk.We can do this later, once this assignment's...over."

"Remember, SOLDIERs need Jenova cells for their strength."

"I wasn't going to remove all of them." She says. "You'll feel stronger again, trust me." She says, looking around. "SO what's the plan? Where do we go from here? I'm not versed in wilderness survival." She says

Victor stood up, bracing himself on his spear. "Please...I know you're trying to help...just don't..." He started limping towards the forest.

"We follow the beaten path."

She nods. "Suit yourself... but try not to get in too much pain. I can't fight on my own." She says, following him. "There is a lot going on already...talk about deviating from the path." She says.

She looks around. "Still, this place is intresintg.. barely any buildings." Sh said
