"Honestly, if people judge you for your interests solely, I think they're just pieces of shit," she said bluntly, tossing her empty cup into a nearby waste bin and shoving her free hand into her pocket. "Besides, who doesn't love anime? It's a work of art."

“Well, in my experience, most of my former friends thought anime was, quote on quote ‘drawn porn‘.” Emily Said, emphasizing on finger quotes.

Lavender stifled a laugh and said, "That's hentai. Anime is wonderful. Your former friends need to do some research." She noticed that they stopped outside of the school, so she tentatively pulled out a blunt, hoping Emily wouldn't mind.

Emily didn’t mind at all, if anything she wasn’t paying too much attention. “I agree. And I told them that. They called me a ‘porn loving weeaboo’”. Emily once again emphasized with finger quotes

Lavender rolled her eyes as she lit the cigarette and sucked in a puff of smoke, blowing it out. "Honestly, that sounds like your former friends themselves, aside from the weeaboo part."

“I never really understood why people like to smoke.” Emily commented. “Not like I have a problem with it, I just don’t understand. I heard it tastes bad.”

"Not really," she replied after another puff of smoke was released into the air. "rather calming, if I do say so myself. Relieves stress, helps me relax."

“Ohhh. I didn’t know that.” Emily said. “My dad would probably kill me if he ever caught me smoking, but I’ve always been curious.”

"It's nice when you're seriously stressed, like I am," she replied. "I don't wanna get you hooked or anything, but if you ever need relief, you know where to find me."

Lavender smiled with an 'anytime' and blew one more puff before throwing the cigarette butt onto the floor and stamping on it.

“Shouldn’t class be starting soon?” Asked Emily. “It seems like time has dragged on so long, but I don’t mind that. I just hope we haven’t accidentally been skipping.”

"Pretty sure it starts in about ten minutes," she replied. "But if you wanna score the good seats, we should probably get there early."

“Yeah. We should probably head there now.” Said Emily, this time holding the entrance door open for Lavender with a smile.

Lavender nodded and smiled politely as she walked in, gesturing for Emily to follow. Maybe this friendship wouldn't turn out like the rest. And maybe...maybe it could be something else...

Emily followed inside. “You’ll have to show me where the correct classroom is. I’ve only been in the building once so far.”

"Sure thing," she nodded. She led Emily over down a dimly lit hallway and to the second door to the left. "This is Ms. William's class. Not exactly what you'd call 'homey', but it's nice in my opinion."

“Looks better than some of my old classrooms.” Emily remarked, stepping inside. It appears they were the first students to arrive.

Lavender nodded as she followed Emily to wherever the other wanted to sit. She wanted to at least sit next to someone who wasn't a stuck up bitch.

Emily places her bag on a desk in the second row to the back. She didn’t want to be one of those “back of the class” kids but didn’t want the attention of the middle or front rows either. Her motives were to just lay low, and the back-middle is usually the right place for that

Lavender sat down next to her and pulled on a black oxygen mask with a white silhouette of a Cheshire grin. She mainly used it to fake a medical condition so she wouldn't have to speak up in class, although she did have one. The teacher, upon noticing this, came up to her and requested its removal, to which she declined.

Emily watched as the new teacher approached their desks, trying to decide whether to introduce herself or just stay quiet and wait for the teacher to talk to her

The teacher, instead of using common sense, yanked the mask away, causing Lavender to clamp her hands over her mouth quickly. 'Please give that back,' she signed angrily.
