Beth assumed they would go then, and leave her alone. It seemed like something they would do. Well, what Manjano would do, and what Falarion would do at his insistence. So when the maned wolf spoke again, she looked over with uncertainty, and no small amount of confusion. Her green eyes were glassy, and she ran a hand through the roots of her hair again, her face tightening into a look of deep upset.
The girl gave a shrug, and attempted to make the standard three-pitch 'I dont know' vocalization, but it came out as a strangled whine. It was followed by a heavy sigh.
"I just.. I don't like bears. Wild bears aren't so bad- no sentience, no thought behind their eyes.. Bonded bears.." Beth's eyes slid away, and then she squeezed them shut as she put her back against a post of the shelving units and slid down. Sitting on the floor with her knees drawn up, Beth stared down at her hands. "Animal companions reflect their humans' character. When some-... he was.. its not.." Another sigh. "Its just too much of a reminder, even now."
Then, as frustration took hold over the fear and sadness, she added more certainly, "Cerci just startled me. Its fine."
