Manjano had wearily listened to the announcement of what Umbra declared to be a new game for them. Treasure-hunting, which was just bullcrap to Manjano. All of this was pushing him to the edge. It was beyond stupid and N was clearly just toying with them right now. What did she really want?

After picking up Falarion from their room, Manjano helped carry his companion to their vehicle before the team departed, his mind wandering here and there while they drove mostly in silence.

Once they arrived and it was announced to find partners, Manjano's eyes instantly settled on Beth, though he felt somewhat nervous asking her to be his partner. It seemed with so many things going awry lately, that the two hadn't really gotten the chance to speak any more and now Manjano felt oddly distant from her. Then again, he could've been overthinking things, but Beth hadn't exactly tried to comfort him before Umbra appeared. Was there something more to that...or no?

Before he could think too much about it, Manjano started, as Falarion trotted up to Beth and grinned up at her before exclaiming, "Beth! Wanna partner up with Manjano and me?"

Anxiously rubbing at the back of his neck, Manjano soon joined Falarion's side, as he waited for Beth's response.

Flying out of their vehicle, Luness landed on some fencing nearby and then closed her eyes, as she focused on her link to Leandra. It was faint, but she could sense that Leandra was nearby.

Suddenly elated, Luness began shining slightly before her excitement quickly shifted to slowly growing anger. N would pay for this and Luness wouldn't bat an eye if she had to burn everything and everyone in her path to get to her companion.

As it were, with such a faint link, Luness knew that Leandra remained unconscious or potentially injured at the moment. She doubted N would further injure Leandra, though. That didn't seem to be N's true intentions, though they were still hidden from the team.

Hearing Amber announce for the others to find partners, Luness searched those mingling nearby until she sighted Xiao.

Flying away from the fence, Luness soon landed on some old and broken statue near Xiao before she looked at the girl in what first appeared to be quiet contemplation.

Gathering her thoughts, Luness then spoke, "Xiao, dear. We're both missing our companions so it would seem..."

Trailing off since she still partly blamed Xiao for all of this, Luness then started up again, "Do you wish to be my partner for this mission until we can relocate our missing companions?"

Xiao Hui knew it was wrong of her to say these things, especially to someone who shouldn't be at the end of her bitter pain. But, he was the closest one to her as of this moment, whether she liked it or not, it didn't matter. Nothing mattered as the anger, sorrow, and tension still dominated the atmosphere. And what about Barry and BB? Where was BB? If she wasn't at the hotel, perhaps. . she was also with them unknowingly and was with Laohu and Leandra? But, she couldn't bring herself to tell Barry her thoughts, then again, she could be wrong and give him unnecessary worry. Inhaling and exhaling slightly, Xiao Hui gently placed a hand on her side, wanting to ease the ache she was feeling from sitting in such an uncomfortable position. Reading Barry's sign language, Xiao Hui looked at him, though her gaze was not as piercingly cold as before, instead, it was hallow, as if she was seeing right through him. But, seeing his response, Xiao Hui had to wonder, what did he have to go through? Everyone on the team brought something with them, be it scar, pain, or a past that was dark. Remembering what BB had told her before, it had taken Barry a long time to actually confide in her, and even then, he seemed to be holding his own secrets. The phrase Barry had told her: sometimes life isn't fair and you just take an opportunity. No matter how bad it will lead you, was definitely what she had done when she left home. She took her chance and gotten freedom, but everything always came with a price, and now she's paying that price.

As Barry scratched his neck, Xiao Hui took notice of the scarf that he was wearing, even then, it looked as if the scar was snugged tightly around his neck. Was there a scar there? A burn? Whatever it was. . . Barry had the means of not telling or showing anyone, but, the scar made a nice bed for BB. However, at the mention of Barry knowing crime families, it was the first time there had been a glint of emotions once more as curiosity graced her features for a split second. She watched as he moved around a bit, trying to get a comfier position as her eyes scanned her mansion once more, seeing everyone either lost in thought, comforted, or heading to their quarters. Once Barry was situated, the next words he signed rocked her world. Shock coursed through her veins metaphorically and physically as she gasped inaudibly. Words couldn't describe what she thought next. Second closest guy to a crime family in California? How? Why? Why would he do such a dangerous task? Was he forced? Coerced? His head would be on a silver platter if he was caught! Seeing his smile and words, Xiao Hui shook her head, not believing what she just heard from him. Then again, why shouldn't she believe it? Would Barry make up lies to just soothe her or did he really have connections as well? But, that could explain why Barry didn't back away from her and still stood by her side, even wanting to comfort her. He could have left her to take care of his own matters, to find BB, but he didn't. Barry hadn't seemed to care where she came from, and for that, she was grateful. Soon, Barry signed once more, as he told her he understood this line of work, despite her Father's traditions, the crime families all worked the same. However, what surprised her was the fact that he had wanted her to vent, everything that has built it. Could she do it? Is it possible? Here. . . wasn't the time nor place, but any moment, she'd shatter like glass, and that would be the moment she's lost. Laohu wouldn't have wanted her to be like this right? Would this be okay?

She had remembered Duirk's remark as she sighed once more inaudibly, knowing she hadn't responded back to her hyena friend. At the same time, she hadn't responded to Alec's surprise as well when she had found him. Eyes were everywhere, even on the roof, though she didn't have the heart to say anything to him. More or less to anyone, so speaking to Barry was different, she didn't have to talk, her hands did the talking. But, at Alec's little comment of stating if it was "band camp", Xiao Hui had looked a little confused, but nevertheless, she remark on it. Just for this moment, she would allow herself to expose her feelings. . and whatever is on her mind to Barry. But, what? Her words and thoughts were so jumbled, even she had a hard time. However, before she could sign to Barry, she felt someone's presence next to her as an animal was placed on their lap. Looking over, she saw, Alec's hopeful smile as Kit mewled towards her. Kit? Alec? When did they get here? But, at the mention of Kit needing his bottle, Xiao Hui felt tears forming around her eyes as she gently took Kit in her arms and then took the bottle from Alec's. Laying Kit snuggling in her arm as she held the bottle as Kit fed, hearing the frustration in Kit's squeals as he was hungry. She had almost forgotten about the little guy and seeing him in her arms reminded her more and more of Laohu. But, as Alec spoke to her, she froze slightly, as her throat caught her breathe. It was true, it was the main reason why she didn't want to speak of her past, at all. But, hearing Alec's words allowed warmth to surface inside her hallowed, cold, heart. She felt the ice slowly melting away, just a bit. He didn't see her any different? Even if she's a mafia's daughter? More mysterious? Just why? Why were Alec and Barry being so . . so . . kind? She didn't deserve it. Could she be different from her Father? Before she even came here, she had a murderous intent of being hell-bent on killing those who stood in her way from her companion, Laohu. That feeling hadn't changed, though, she didn't feel as nearly alone as before. "Really? Are you positive? Not lying to me, are you?" Her voice croaked slightly as she coughed, wanting to get the frog out of her throat.

For another few seconds, her eyes laided on Alec's, slight hope appeared in her eyes, "How can you be so sure?" She whispered slightly, "that I won't be like my Father? Will you stay with me to the end. . . even if I go down the wrong path?" Xiao Hui asked before her attention went back to Barry. Not being able to sign with her hands, she spoke out-loud, but only loud enough for him and Alec to hear. "I wouldn't have thought . . you'd been through and been a part of such a thing. But, everyone has their secrets and know that. . if they do come after you, I won't let them take you, especially since you have my. . people who'll stay on your side. If it's a war they want, it'll be a war they'll get. However, you're right. . I'm scared." She stated before she looked ahead, not giving anyone her attention as she stared. Xiao Hui wanted both of them to listen to her words, her voice. "I'm suppose to be dead." Xiao Hui revealed as she allowed that statement to course through the air. "He wasn't always like this. He used to be kinder, different, but. . my Mother. . . Brother. . . were assassinated. Father changed to someone unrecognizable and to the person you saw in the room today." She finished, wanting to give them a little background on her before she vented out, her tears fully dripping down her cheeks now. "I was taught to never show emotions, never show weakness. Which is why .. I apologize if I still can't confide in you two . . no matter how much I may trust you. It's. . hard. Laohu was my saving grace. . he stuck by my side and now he's forcefully taken away from me. Laohu understood, cared, and became my companion. . . no questions asked. He had lost his family before and he took me in as his own, cherishing, training, and caring for me. Alec. . . Barry . . we need to find Laohu. I need him . . he's all that I've got left. My Father. . . he's too distraught and . . broken to even notice me anymore. This place is stuffy . . this place only brings back memories of what has broken. . .I'm . . tired. Really tired. . "

But, before long, disruption filled the air as Xiao Hui glared at Umbra and soon a hologram appeared before them. Standing up this time, with Kit in her arms, feeding, she plastered a stoic face as she stared blankly at the two. A game? Treasure hunting? What the hell were they talking about? If her Father heard about this, he would be more than just angry, he'd use his legions and hunt them down for disrespecting and disobeying him. What exactly where those two's intention? It was now obvious to her, N and Umbra had down-right double-crossed him and for that, she'd may the woman and her bird pay for their mistakes. It not only placed her Father in a position of being laughed upon and his pride being tainted, but she would never allow her Home and everything her family had built to become a laughingstock. Plus, who else would she place her murderous anger upon? She found the perfect host. Looking over at Barry, she nodded, letting a small smile grace her lip, to show him she was grateful for his company and comfort. "Thank you, Barry and we will find BB too. We'll get them back this time." She said, her voice laced with underlying intent as she placed Kit with Duik, glad Kit was finished feeding and was now fast asleep.

Once they were unloaded out of the truck, Xiao Hui took her own pack as well as one small pistol, just in case. Walking into the tunnel, Xiao Hui felt shivers up her spine from the coldness in the air. Everything they walked on were made of ice, however, the further they walked in, the feeling in the pit of her stomach made her alert. She felt something . . . like a glimpse of her connection with Laohu. They were here! was N and Umbra hiding them all along? For what purpose? Whatever it was, Xiao Hui felt life course back through her as she felt Laohu's warm presence surrounding her. He was here and she knew it, which meant Laohu knew they were there as well. Trying to mind link Laohu, Xiao Hui spoke,
"We're coming for you, Laohu, stay safe and be patient for a while longer. We're here." She said, hoping those words got through to her tiger. Her white, precious, tiger. Adrenaline coursed through her veins as she wanted to attack the ice in this tunnel just to get to him. As another hologram appeared, Xiao Hui remained emtionless, not allowing the woman to get ahold of her true emotions and thoughts. Games. Everything about woman was games. She'd definitely wipe off that smirk of the woman's face, that's for sure. However, as a giant map of a labryinth appeared before them, Xiao Hui inwardly hissed, not liking the maze they were about to take part of.

Soon the rules and the games were set as the lights had lit, signaling the beginning of the game. Xiao Hui clenched her fist, wanting to find Laohu quickly, but where? The maze was definitely a trap and everyone would definitely get separated. But, the question remained, who did she want and why? Hearing Agent Strong's orders and plans, she watched as people got into groups. Hearing a fluttering near her, Xiao Hui looked over, seeing Luness, lost in thought for a moment. Hearing her voice and question, Xiao Hui wouldn't lie and say she wasn't surprise, because she was. But, Luness had a point, they both lost their companions, but even then, she only knew that Alec and Barry hadn't held anything against her. However, as the others, she didn't know, including Luness. But, if her actions hadn't said anything, Xiao Hui knew she partially may even blamed her for kidnapping Leandra because of her Father.
"Of course, Luness, we can. Should we ask Barry as well? It seems BB isn't here as well."

<p>It was rough, and that was saying it lightly. After the fight at the hotel, Fie had been far too shaken up for Ash to take him with the others. So instead he volunteered to stay behind and clean up the mess so his partner could stop quivering. The poor monkey had his tail nearly shot off which was almost as bad as his head being close to being blown off (though he didn't know about the almost head shot as he had been too busy yelling about how his tail was missing some fur). Either way the end result was the same, as soon as the fighting had gone down and the monkey found Ash. He wasted no time in hiding in Ash's vest letting out a whimper every now and then as he continued to quiver. </p>

<p>

Of course seeing his buddy like that the purple haired charmer couldn't go on a possibly dangerous job till his partner calmed down. Which thankfully to Fie's harden will (and a lot of popsicles as well as a goody bag from a sweet store) the monkey was able to stop panicking over the trauma he faced earlier. Ash on the other hand spent his time taking the soldiers left behind and alive in custody as well as doing other necessities around the hotel. </p>

<p>

Upon getting a break he did what everyone would do....and started to improve one of his bombs. In a secluded place of course, he wasn't that reckless, usually. He spent the little time he had improving the effectiveness of a certain pen explosive he had. He got a bit done but before he could finish his project he was called back to the hotel. When he arrived there, he and the hyperactive Fie were briefed on what was going on. </p>

<p>

With only a nod he got into his own car and followed the truck to the location. Upon arriving he didn't get out right away as he looked at Fie who was grinning and happy as usual. <span style="color:#8000ff;"> </span><span style="color:#8000ff;"><span style="color:#5900b3;">"Fie, how much sugar?"</span></span><span style="color:#8000ff;"> </span> Fie just gave Ash a toothy grin before unbuckling and hoping out of the window and to the group. Ash rubbed his forehead and got out of the car. <em><span style="color:#5900b3;">'Don't let him get shot at...'</span></em> Going to the back he grabbed his and Fie's bags before he headed off after him. </p>

The trip to ... wherever it was they had been taken ... was made in an awkward silence. Kitsune, curled up, slept on Raven's lap who had also closed her eyes in some semblance of meditation. The two of them had had their discussion in their room, one-sided as it was, and Raven concluded that no more needed to be said for Kitsune's refusal to follow her order. She had long since learned that there was no point in dwelling on the past. What was done could not be altered; only the present mattered as it directly influenced the future.

Raven prodded her companion awake when they had stopped and the doors to the van opened. The fox's good eye held a brighter glint than it had earlier but his posture was still subdued. Kitsune actually seemed a bit more fit for having slept and his wounds re-dressed by Alec the night before. Wordlessly, Raven helped Kitsune climb onto her shoulder and lay around her neck like a living stole.

She had discarded the winter accoutrements in her borrowed room in favor of her typical long coat. Kitsune's warmth around her neck would suffice for now and his weight was easily managed. Raven nodded a tacit agreement with Duik's appraisal of their situation as she, too, was uneasy about it.

Raven's feelings were justified when the holographic woman detailed the rules of her twisted game. At the woman's mention of her own prize, Raven's gaze quickly shot to the furry little cat-thing that they had found at the club. It was the only anomaly in their midst and it was an unknown. Many of the group fawned over the thing, but Raven was content to simply turn it over in exchange for their captured team and be on their way. "Keep track of that thing, will you?" she whispered to Kitsune. "That's your top priority."

Kitsune's attention turned toward the animal. "Yes, captain," he replied quietly. "I promise that I won't let you down."

Without taking her gaze from the cat-thing, Raven replied in a simple voice, "I know."

Raven approached Amber. "I could use a team, I suppose," she said. Then, with a curt nod to Kitsune on her shoulders, "Well, I mean we could. Who do you want us with?"

She peered deeper into the ice cavern. "How much ammo do we have?" she asked aloud. "Any marks we make will probably ice over but if we shoot chunks of ice out of the walls at regular intervals, I doubt it would cover over before we get back out. Just my thought; take from it what you will."

Listening intently to Amber and Calista go back and forth about the hampering of the teams abilities to communicate inside the ice walls, Jimbo knew where this was going and he didn't like it. There had not been a fantastic history with teams splitting up, and even less so on a place they had no intel on at all. But, it would allow them to find Leandra and Laohu quicker, and might even get Lady N in the process.

As Jimbo pondered, Simon turned at the sound of a vehicle pulling up and familiar face climbing out of it. The little white form of Fie simon recognized instantly and he smile and nodded at Ash's approach.

"Welcome back, hope everything went ok at the Hotel after we left."

While Simon was greeting Ash, Jimbo perked up at the mention of pairing off. Amber and Calista were approached by Zoe and Eos, that ruled them out. He looked over to the side to see Luness and Xiao pairing off together. That made them a single pair until they got their team mates back. They could pair off with them, though Jimbo couldn't help but feel that a certain guy and his Hyena compaignion would want to stick close to them. It wasn't till he heard Simon's voice for a second time that he snapped out of his thoughts to what Simon was saying.

"Hey Romeo, we're teaming up and Jim and I could use an extra pair of eyes. What'a ya say?"

Simon was ready to get this show on the road, and after the casino incident, he had grown to like Fie and Ash. Jimbo gave the pair a half cocked smile before he began to dig through his pouches on the front of his chest holster for the small black ear pieces. He placed one in his ear and handed the other to Simon, who placed it in his as well.

Barry stood there listening to Amber. It seemed they were at a clear disadvantage this time around. It was like a game that had been rigged from the start. The kidnapping, the area they had to delve into, even the information they had at this moment. All clear signs that this was not going to be an easy feat. He thought about the comms. It was only useful for him to hear others. Maybe some day this Nigel guy could whip up some.. robot voice thing or something. Who knew? He looked around as people were grouping up. Everyone getting into their respective pairings. It was at this moment his initial feeling of loneliness came back. Ash didn't even come here with any news of BB... She was still missing. Each passing minute his speculation grew more and more. He knew she was fast. It would be hard for anyone to grab her unless she was in her torpor or stuck somehow. The first one sounded the most reasonable. The last time she got a drink was right before the fire alarms in the hotel. It had been such a long day.. She surly was sleeping now.

He thought back to the moments when they were in the presence of Xiao's father. His uncanny sense of fear. It wasn't from him. It felt so foreign. He kept wondering if that was the connection most people managed to form with their partner. The ability to feel the others feelings and thoughts. It had been like static for so long, perhaps it was finally starting to grow for once. That didn't help his feelings though. If it were really the case then that would mean BB was in some major trouble if she were freaking out like that. He composed himself. He couldn't think like that. This was a game of a crazy person but one who wanted something apparently. If she did in fact have BB then she wouldn't do away with her. Especially if Leandra and Laohu were there to speak their minds. They wound't just sit idly by and let them do stuff to her. Yeah, that was the better mind set. She was just somewhere in the maze with the other two and he had to get them all out like the rest of the team.

Once again, he inspected the team pairings. It was when he heard his name being called that he turned to face Luness and Xiao. The other two without their partners. By the looks of it, there would have to be one team like that anyway so it might as well be the team that has the most to find. It would definitely be a touching reunion to see everybody back together. He walked up to their small group and gave a wave. From what he remembered, Xiao had some interesting fighting skills when he was watching everyone for the first few weeks he was there. Luness.. Luness was a Phoenix. If the mythology held up then he had a pretty good grasp on what she was capable of. Especially when she got mad like when meeting Xiao's father. He could still feel the phantom heat that radiated there. He was packed up and ready to go. As long as the two were okay with it, it appeared they had their team. He looked over to inspect Zoe once more. She seemed to be a little on edge. It was fairly obvious to someone who had to imitate different emotions. She was angry about something but he couldn't place his finger on it. Still, she was pairing up with Amber, Calista, and her own partner Eos. Everything should be fine for her with those three by her side.

Beth jumped as a metal disk landed in front of her, followed by a pattering of others. A sharp avian cry rang out, and the disks came to life with a hum..

Things moved quickly once the dark woman gave her little performance. Totus returned to her as soon as it was done, feeling her somber mood settle into determination. They were going to get Laohu and Leandra back.

The pair remained silent in the transport, Totus sitting calmly on Beth's shoulder as her eyes flickered around at the others. She didnt like the feeling of being out of control, and this just kept getting more and more out of their hands.

She tried not to think about it too much until they arrived. She climbed out behind the others and wormed her way into the center of their little group. It was freezing, once again, and she hated it. Totus gave a churr, focusing her on the hologram of Nutjob Number 2.

As it ended, the pair wore uncannily similar expressions of worry and distaste. Beth wordlessly retrieved a loaded gun and a little extra ammo for herself, adding a small explosive with a remote detonator to her belt. The flashlight was cold and heavy in her palm, and Totus gave a small huff.

"You know how I hate those things," He muttered.

Beth gave him a glance and sniffed, her nose running in the cold, "Well I'd like to be able to see too, dearest."

They returned to the group, just in time for Falarion to come bounding up to her. Totus gave a nod of approval, leaving Beth's shoulder so that she could crouch. She did, rubbing Fal's ears gently. "Of course, sweetie." She looked up at the approaching Manjano, her smile fading a little at the look on his face. He looked upset, understandably, but there was that neck-rubbing again.. hadn't they gotten past the whole 'feeling awkward around each other because God knows what happened in our pasts' thing?

Renewing her smile, she added, "Theres no one I'd rather be with," in a slightly softer voice. She stood up and reached out, taking hold of Manjano's hand. "We'll find her. No matter what."

Totus, standing next to Falarion on the ground, would have smirked if one could smirk with a beak. Beth, always dutiful first.

Luness nodded at Xiao's acceptance of their temporary partnership and then tilted her head at the mention of BB's absence.

With all that had happened lately and her own lost companion, Luness had never noticed BB's absence. Did that make her selfish?

Uncertain and now feeling a bit bad for being in her own world for so long, Luness dipped her head slightly before responding,
"Of course, dear."

Seeing Barry walk up to them and give a small wave, Luness nodded at him, as she had no problem with him joining their small, makeshift team.

While the others gathered themselves and found their own pairings, Luness shifted her gaze about the area, her connection with Leandra feeling fuzzy. As Luness had learned over time, this surely meant that Leandra was currently unconscious. Whether this was from injury or a more 'peaceful' manner of putting her to sleep, Luness was unsure.

Either way, Luness knew she was more than ready to burn N and Umbra for this absurd behavior and antics.

Luness still couldn't understand what N wanted, but knew she wanted her companion back and was willing to do
anything to get her back.

Falarion grinned at Beth when she replied with agreement, his tail wagging in a blur behind him.

Wisely, Manjano veered his way around Falarion's tail, making sure he didn't get thwacked by it.

As it were, Manjano still found himself feeling a tad awkward around Beth, but his lack of communication probably wasn't helping convey his reasons for it. Despite everything, he still had some secrets of his own and so there were still conflicts melding into the relationship he was trying so hard to maintain with Beth.

To top it all off, he also had to deal with the temporary loss of his twin sister. Definitely wasn't helping him any.

Hearing Beth speak to him, Manjano faintly blushed and then tried really hard to resist the urge to stiffen when Beth took his hand and comforted him.

Inwardly punching himself in the shoulder for reacting such a way when they were supposed to be closer to one another and over such little things, Manjano forced a smile on his face and nodded in response to Beth's comforting words.

Falarion glanced between the two and then made a face, as he saw that Manjano's forced smile honestly looked more like a grimace.

Um, mate, you look like you're grimacing, not smiling.

Hearing Falarion's thoughts, Manjano quickly dropped the forced smile, glanced down at the ground and sighed, as he said softly, "Sorry...it's uh, been a long day."

"That's a good idea Raven." Amber said as she finished preparing her gear and looked up at raven as she spoke. "I'll be going in with Zoe and Eos," She gestured to the pair who had already volunteered to accompany her. "But Alec doesn't have a partner." She pointed to Alec as he sat on a block of nearby ice dismantling his sniper rifle (it would be completely useless in a maze). He did pack the pistol that Nigel had made for him. Duik sat with Kit, who was eating the snowflakes that began to tumble down from the sky.

Alec overheard the tail end of the conversation and looked up just in time to see Amber pointing at him. "Huh? What?" But his heart sank as his brain pieced together what was happening. He hadn't been all that impressed by Raven's attitude, especially her harshness toward her partner and he was convinced he wasn't going to like her anymore now.

Duik on the other hand grinned and held up a paw for Kitsune to slap. "This is Boss man! We're a team!"

"Pinch me." Alec muttered sarcastically.

@Kharmin

"All right teams. Stay alert, eyes on the swivel. Do what Raven suggested and mark the ice walls: an arrow in the direction of every turn you make. If we're smart about this, we can get through it systematically. Now move out!"

They went in as a group, down the long, frozen corridor. The first thing Alec noticed: It was cold. Like, ridiculously cold. He could feel his lungs freezing with the air he drew into them, it made him cough.

"You warm enough there buddy?" He asked Duik. He got a jittery answer.

"O-oh yeah....j-just p-p-peachy..."

The creature Kit seemed unperturbed by the cold. "Lucky l-little stinker." Duik said affectionately.

It wasn't long before the hallway branched into four different paths and further down the left-most Alec could see another split. Amber stopped before the forks and turned to the group.

"Be careful what you say out loud. I'm sure this place is bugged to Hell. Keep on com at all times. I want to hear what's going on with every group. If you get into trouble, turn your positioning on. We'll try to get to you. When we find Leandra and Laohu, the team that does will hold position, unless your lives are under threat. Good luck everyone. I want to say..." Amber paused for a moment as if putting her words in order.

"You're a fantastic team. You've impressed not only me, but Darcy as well. Each and every one of you has proven thrice over that you are a member of the Watch. Now get out there and get our friends back."

With that speech they broke off and each team chose a corridor.

@everyone

"Oh, and Simon?" She turned just before he vanished from sight. "When this is over, I will be up for that drink." Calista made a small fist pump from her place on the ground. Anything that involved alcohol put her in a good mood. Amber gave him a nod, then disappeared.

@zCrookedz

As Alec walked he began to examine the walls carefully. They were straight in places, as if they had been carved, but in others they curved and undulated as if the cavern was completely natural. Most walls however were smooth as glass, and reflected things a little too well. The passage was lit with very dim blue lights and in the dimness, the reflections looked extremely convincing. "I wonder how this place was made," he mused aloud, running a gloved hand across one wall gingerly.

"Beats me." Duik said, then promptly ran head first into the wall ahead of them. He covered his throbbing nose with a paw. "Man I fought I hab at leaft anofer 2 feet to walk...dis place sucks."

Alec frowned, the walls mislead the eye. They wouldn't be able to rush anywhere, or they'd end up like Duik. "I like it less and less every minute..."

Ash looked at Simon and let out a sigh at the first statement. "Honestly could have gone better, the news were on the site like starving hounds to a fresh kill. We were still able to keep most of it covered pain none the less. Though being on the news for like ten seconds was great, never felt so loved." Ash said with a light laugh as he tossed the smaller bag he had to Fie who caught it mid air and placed it on his back. "The hard part was to get cry baby here to calm down." He stated as he shoved his thumb at Fie. "Hey! I'm not a cry baby! I told you those flies and invisible people were poking my eyes so I teared up! You are the real cry baby here!" The small monkey exclaimed making Ash shaking his head. "Sure I am Fie, that's why you were quivering and everything~" ".....Don't know what you are talking about keheh."

When Simon offered to pair up with the two of them Ash was about to respond but was cut off when Fie ran up to Simon. Wasting no time he climbed the giant and sat on his shoulder. "Yesh! I get to be gaint once more! The perfect spot for a monkey such as my amazing, super, awesome, perfect self, during this magnificent year Keheheh!" Ash let out a sigh and adjusted his bag. "Fie we've been over this." "Lalalala Year of the monkey, I'm the ruler of all keheh." Ash rubbed his head a bit and looked at Simon with a small smile. "Ignore him. He can't really sense the tension in the air... But yeah, I can't really deny a handsome man such as yourself, I think partnering up with you will be a great idea." He said as he approached the other.

Fie just kept grinning and hummed a bit. Before they moved out Ash double checked he had what he needed before he followed the others. When they entered he let out an internal groan when he realized how chilly it was. Not because it bothered him, nah, however it did bother a certain companion of his. Glancing over at Fie, the moneky was holding Simon from behind his head and trying to get warm as possibly be using Simon's hair as a warmer of sorts. Not that it did much, but by the lords! Did this monkey detest the cold. "Fie I told you to get something warmer before we left..." "Shhhh Y-You ma-make it s-s-sound li-like I'm c-c-cold. Wh-Which I'm no-not!" "You are chattering...." ''N-No you ar-are." Ash didn't respond and just shook his head as he walked on.

When it was time to split he listend to the orders and gave a nod when letting her know he got it. When the words of encourgment/speech was given he smiled a bit and looked down the path way he figured his team would go down. "We are getting threw this back alive, and with all our limbs I would prefer." He said nonchalantly with a light chuckle. With that he walked to his pathway, though he didn't go far just yet as he waited for Simon just to make sure the two wouldn't be separated right off the bat.

@zCrookedz

Simon smiled as Fie darted over to him and found his spot once again on his shoulder. The little monkey had been a wonderfull partner during the club, so Simon was once again happy to have him and ash tagging along with him and Jimbo. His jubilee of being giant once again made Simon chuckle before turning to Ash at his acceptance of the group.

"Ah the little guy is just excited. No harm no foul. Lets get moving."

Simon nodded towards the opening to the ice cave and followed closely behind Amber and her group.

The ice cave was cold, that was putting it lightly. Thick clouds of breath formed before Simon and Jimbo with each exhail as they looked around the ice walls. Jimbo could feel the cold seeping in the further in they got, but when he looked up at Simon, it was as if nothing had changed. Other than his now visible breath, Simon looked calm and collected as ever. The leather duster he had dawned from the winter gear on their way from the hotel was surely helping, but under that he knew Simon had nothing but his tactical vest on. His bare arms pressed up against the cold leather didn't seem to bother him in the slightest.

Finally the group came to their first obstacle, the one that would separate their groups into different sections of the cavern. The rhythmic clouds of Simon's breathing continued as he stopped and listened to Amber speak. She was so forward, so certain of what she was saying. Just like she had always been. Even when things went south, during every mission they had ever been on together, there were very few times he had ever seen her resolve be shaken.

The words she spoke he knew to be true. She had never been one to say things just to make people feel better. Always told people how it was and what she really thought of them. It didn't always paint her in the best light, but it always held Simon's respect. Even though it was usually directed at him.

As she finished speaking and the others began walking away, Simon stayed and watched as Amber and her group began to move forward. He couldn't help be feel like something wasn't right. Something, in the pit of his stomach that told him he needed to say something to her. Maybe, to finish what he had said earlier.

Before he could do anything, her voice broke through his thoughts and he looked down the corridor to see her standing there. She mentioned the drink he had bet at the beginning of the mission, and he couldn't help from smiling from ear to ear.

"It's a date..."

Simon watched as she turned to leave and he felt the feeling returning as she and her group rounded the corner and disappeared.

Simon stood there for what felt like an eternity, until he felt a large fury knuckle rap him in the leg gently. He looked down to see Jimbo nodding towards the tunnel Ash had begun going down, Simon following after one last glance down Amber's tunnel.

The tunnel's blue lights cast an eerie feeling over the Simon and Jimbo. The pair had some dificulty moving throught the more natural formations of the walls, some of them dipped pretty low causing Simon to duck. During one of the stretched of straight tunnels, Simon felt the back of head beginning to shake and realized that the little monkey who had claimed his shoulder as his thrown, might just turn into a monkey-cicle before this mission ended.

Simon reached up with a massive hand and grasped hold of Fie and brought him to the front of his leather duster. He flipped open the front pocket and set the little monkey inside it.

"There ya go little buddy. I think this might be a little warmer than my head."

Zoe nodded as Amber explained the tactics and what they needed to do. Marking the walls was actually a great idea, she was glad that Raven mentioned it - not surprisingly the woman was a military girl just like her, she was glad that someone came up with this suggestion. With the last farewells said she looked at Barry one last time as he joined Lness and Xiao. The longing look was probably not registered the boy so she quickly turned her attention to her party as Eos looked at her.

" It is time. " he muttered and the girl nodded. She followed Amber into the corridor as they finally got out of sight of the others.

Minutes passed like days. It felt for Zoe as if they had been here for all eternity already, despite the fact that it was but mere minutes they had spent in this death trap. The air stood still as she could hear nothing but faint whispers... almost as if they were coming out from the ice itself. She kept walking close to Amber and Eos, trying to cover their flank and the rear from possible foes.

On every corner he jumped into battle formation, almost as if she expected to be ambushed in any moment.

" This maze is foreboding. " Eos murmured to the group " I have a strange feeling, Agent Strong. Almost as if we were being watched. "

" I bet that lunatic tracks our movement. " Zoe nodded to his statement. " It would be wise to- "

She was caught off guard as she felt rumbling behind them. Turning around she anticipated an attack but what she saw was far worse than that. Behind them stood a massive crystallized wall, one that Zoe could not remember being there just a few moments ago. The girl took a few steps back towards her group, eyeing the blockade.

" Something is not right. "

Just as she said that the path they were walking on was suddenly blocked by another wall. Now with the northern and the southern path sealed the two walls to their left and to their right gave way, opening up before them. Zoe gulped as Eos stated the obvious.

" The labyrinth... it is shifting. " he said with a hint of desperation in his voice.

Lady N let out a menacing cackle watching the members of the group splitting up so foolishly. Indeed, this way they made it so much more fun than the normal, boring way. She turned to some of her technicians in the room, staring at them coldly. They met her gaze but quickly turned away, working as hard as possible.

" We have orders from Drake. " she said calmly, walking up and down " Initiate Protocol 215 "

" But my lady... " one of the technicians argued " That would make the orientation in there difficult. Won't you have issues with- "

" Questioning my prowess might be the last thing you will think up in that pretty head of yours before I sever it from your neck. " N lashed out, silencing the man immediately " Let the game commence. It is time to make those little pairs have some fun. "

Her henchmen said nothing but silently obeyed. After manipulating with the buttons the result was obvious on the screen - many walls of the labyrinth now started to move on its own, obscuring the movement and the way for many of the teams - except for one. She looked at the screen curiously.

" Why is that group smaller than the others? Why are they not trapped yet? " she demanded. One of the other technicians walked up to her, bowing before replying.

" Those are the ones whose partners we have in captivity, my lady. " he said " They are in a section where the walls are not so easily moved. "

N smiled.

" Is that so? " she asked with a sadistic glee " Very well, send them some... entertainment. I want the Cryo Squad to go after them. "

In that moment two well equipped figures entered the room, their heads covered in gas mask, their bodies full in heat and cold resistant gear. In their hands they held some flamethrower like weapons, but these would instead shoot out liquid ice - one which would freeze everything in its wake. Next to them stood their fierce companions - arctic wolves, covered in white fur. N turned to the squad, pointing at the group on the map.

" Seize them and finish them. " she said with a devilish grin, scratching the belly of Umbra who screed in response, looking at his mistress with eager anticipation. " It is time for us to have some fun. "

The Cryo Squad nodded and with their wolves in their wake they left. N watched as they departed as her eye fixated on that certain group on the map. It was time for her to leave as well... this time she will seize the opportunity and finish her task... this time...

There will be no escape.

Amber whirled around and saw the ice wall. "It definitely wasn't there before." S

he walked up to it, pressing her gloved hand slightly onto the surface. She couldn't see past the reflective surface and whatever mechanism had moved it was not visible on the sides, top or bottom of the wall either. "Well, things just got a little more interesting."

@DawnAntalios

Alec had only been walking for a few minutes and he was already sick of this place. Duik had discovered that trotting in place kept him a bit warmer than simply walking. He looked comical as his claws scraped the ice floor. Kit looked on with a curious expression, then gave up and went to play with Kitsune's tail. A distant rumble made Alec stop. Duik --who was watching Kit-- smacked right into the back of his legs.

"Again?! Man! This is not the place for me. Its too cramped in here! Coulda sworn there was more room before..."

Another slow rumble sounded and Alec could feel the ground vibrate. Suddenly he noticed the wall to his left was just a bit closer than it had been a few seconds ago. He looked to the floor. It was slow, but picking up speed. Both walls were eating up the ground in the corridor, pressing more tightly onto them.

"Oh crap. Let's move!" Alec surged forward as Duik yelped and grabbed for Kit, holding the creature by the scruff between his teeth. They both jerked to a halt as they came to a dead end.

"Back! Back!" He yelled, pushing them back the way they had come...only...there was no way. They were boxed in.

"What the Hell is going on?!"

But the walls had no answer, they kept on their path, threatening to squeeze until their victims had been crushed to jelly.

The same effects began happening in several other places. Simon's team and Manjano's. The way back and forward were cut and the walls began closing.

Barry followed suit just like everyone else as they entered the tunnels. They were strange. They reflected like a mirror maze but in a much more unsettling fashion. Trying to spot things in here would be a nightmare. Once again one of his skills nullified. His small ego was getting slashed like there was no tomorrow yet he managed to keep his face focused like everyone else. This was no time to dwell on the internal problems they face. They had to reunite the pairs that had been severed. That thought of a warming reunion was one of the only things fending off the coldness that seeped into his jacket. They continued as a group till they reached the forked off directions. He sighed heavily which was shown by the bellowing mist from his mouth. He watched as the rest left down their respective routes till he was left with Luness and Xiao. He walked up to the mouth of the path as he held his body. It kept him warmer and allowed his hands near his respective weapons.

He looked back at the two before heading in. The ominous blue lighting was probably part of a trap or something. It made it strangely hard to view things. Like the light melded with the wall so although one could see, they could not see where the wall ended and started. The way he figured this? He ran right into a curve. A little annoyed, he made sure to keep his elbows out just in case he did it again. He was keeping a keen eye out for the small bend of light on the ground though. The tell of how the walls were shaped. The downside to this was not being able to see what was right in front of him. He was relying heavily on Luness and Xiao to call out if there was a trap being triggered or not. He had the thought of asking Luness for some fire but... It being a white flame might not actually help that much overall. They needed a light that clashed with the natural blue nature of this cave.

Fie was more than happy to stay in Simon's pocket to get away from some of the cold. He moved into it a bit but had to take off his bag and hang it over the side of the pocket. Giving him room for a bit more warmth. "I-I-I h-hate the cold." Fie chattered as his tail wrapped around him. "You hate a lot of things, like needles." "Th-they are s-sharp things being po-poked into me! On-One wrong m-move and poof! I'm n-not moving an-anymore! Not because I'm dead, bur paralyzed since they p-poked my nerves." "Whatever you say Fie, still taking you next week to get your shots." "Neeer I-I don't wanna!"

Ash didn't respond and moved on however when the rooms started to rumble. For a moment he almost lost balance but quickly regained it. "What the?" Moments after he said this he looked at the walls and saw what was happened. "Oh come on! You are going to squash me to death? That's waay too unslighty for me to go." He complained before he looked at Simon and the others. "Okay, so quick thing about me. You likely read the file but I like making things go boom. I have said bombs in my bag right now. So I plan to attempt to blow a wall up. No guarantee it will work so while I do my thing you see if you can find another way out just incase." Ash said as he shuffle through his bag.

Not really giving Jimbo, Simon or Fie time to talk he moved toward the way they came in and started to set up a few bombs there. Nothing too powerful that it would kill or damage them from the shockwave or the initial explosion. But it was some bombs that packed a punch none the less. He set to work as quickly as he could to make sure he got this done before he became the most handsome pancake ever. Fie stayed on Simon's pocket really not wanting to get out right now.

Beth gave Manjano a small smile and squeezed his hand lightly before loosening her grip, hesitantly letting it go. "I know. Just a little longer though." Totus hid his owl-smile, but gave Falarion a small, knowing glance.

With a deep breath, Beth took a step back. She adjusted her grip on her gun and put her flashlight into her other hand. "Lets get this over with." She muttered, turning to follow the others into the hellhole. Totus returned to her shoulder, just as she stepped inside.

Instantly, she drew in a sharp breath. It felt like every ounce of warmth had been sucked out of her in a single heartbeat. Totus grumbled softly, a little less sensitive but just as affected.

Im getting a little tired of this job.

Youve never enjoyed a ob more than this one.

That doesnt mean its okay for it to be this cold.

At the splitting pint, she grimaced and looked around at her teammates. They had been so good to her, even the ones she had gotten off on the wrong foot with...

Dont get sad now, Beth, we can get through this if we fight.

Beth gave a small nod and looked to Manjano. "Alright partner." She said, and chose their path. "To the bitter end." She whispered, mostly to herself. She walked with her handgun raised, flashlight held underneath it, taking careful steps on the icy floor. Beth couldnt think of anything beyond how cold she was; her teeth chattered loudly in her skull.

"Hey Beth.." Totus began, but the clink of metal on ice sounded before he could say anything else. The end of her flashlight had hit a wall in front of her. She swore softly, as she began to feel the vibration .

"Something isnt right here.." She said, turning to look at Manjano behind her. And thats when she and Totus saw the wall behind him. Right where they had just walked through.

"By the stars.."

"Oh my God.. Manjano.."

Raven raked her hair back with her fingers and shook out the few snowflakes that had fallen on her head as she glanced over at Alec. He and Duik weren't the worst pair that Amber could suggest and, since both they, Raven and Kitsune hadn't yet teamed up with anyone it helped fill the requirement.

"Ok, sure," she replied to Amber. She wasn't at all prepared for Duik's enthusiasm and watched as Kitsune's scratched face warmed up to the infectious hyena. For his part, from his perch around Raven's neck, Kitsune did his best to return the high-paw.

With a nod toward the entrance Raven said to Alec, "No time like the present. Let's get our missing team members and get out of here."

Raven kept a moderately slower pace until everyone could become accustomed to the slick surface under-foot. The extreme cold made her re-consider leaving her parka behind, but she hunkered down in her long coat and convinced herself that at the least she would be more mobile if the situation warranted. Kitsune's warmth around her neck did help a bit.

She waited out Amber's small pep-talk and was anxious to get moving. Raven didn't think that it had been the right time and place for such words, but when she recalled the last group she herself had led, and the fatal results, Raven was remorseful that she hadn't told her group then how much she had appreciated them.

"When will you ever admit that it wasn't your fault?" Kitsune mused quietly in her ear as he sensed her emotion through their growing, shared link.

"When will you learn to stay out of my head?" Raven answered gruffly. "You weren't there, fox. Don't push what you don't know."

Kitsune rolled his one, good eye in surrender. Raven suppressed the memory and re-focused on the task at hand and the moment, small as it was, was forgotten.

The place was like a hall of mirrors. Raven snorted a chuckle at Duik's expense when he found one of the walls with his snout. She took out the .9mm and shot a chunk of ice from the offending obstruction. The shot reverberated quite loudly in the enclosed passage. "Just marking the path," Raven muttered into the comm. She glanced back to Duik. "Lead on."

The monotony of the travel wore quickly on them. With flashlights glancing off of every surface and angle, their process was slow but steady. Raven aimed her pistol to make another mark when the slow, rumbling sound began. Light in hand, she swiveled back and forth in an effort to discover its source, but like the gunshot the sound echoed all around them.

Alec's alert to the moving wall finally discerned the source. They turned and headed back in retreat, only to find a wall which hadn't been there before not only blocked their escape but also moved toward them. They would be crushed between the two in a matter of moments!

Raven swallowed her panic. Training endured through hard years had taught her that panic meant sure death. She scoped back and forth between the two walls with the flashlight as she tried to pace their approach.

"Alec," she said with surprising calmness, "see if you can't manage to blast a hole in the ceiling or the floor. We might be able to escape that way." Raven scooped Kitsune from her shoulders and placed him on the floor. "Remember your primary objective," she warned. The fox nodded and glanced toward Duik and the cat-thing.

Raven looked at the crushing walls again, then aimed her .9mm and fired a shot at a space where one of the side-walls and floor met. She fired again and made the hole a bit larger, then she knelt and wedged her pistol into the space. She looked up as the wall approached. "It may hold, or it may not. Perhaps it will buy us a little time. Sorry, but I don't really have any other answers," she said to Alec.

Simon glanced down at his pocket where the little monkey got comfortable and expressed his extreme displeasure with the cold. He smiled down at his passenger then to Jimbo with a smirk.

"Colds not so bad. Heat is worse. You can always get warmer, but getting colder is not quite as easy."

Jimbo however missed the comment as his head swept back and forth over the corridor as the discussion began to peter out.

Before Simon could even ask what was wrong, the ground began to shake and Simon dropped to a semi crouch to help stable himself. Jimbo was ready, his giant hand having already grabbed one of his guns from under his arm and had it pointing back down the hallway from which they came.

When the shaking finally stopped, Simon stood back up and looked around the corridor, the eerie blue light making the walls look as if they were moving. Though, when Ash spoke up about the walls, Simon realised it wasn't just the lights playing tricks on him.

Ash was already thinking of plan A, and before Jimbo and Simon could make any kind of objection to explosives in such a tight space, he was off. Simon gave Jimbo a determined look which Jimbo returned with a nod. The pair began to head down the hallway at a more brisk pace now, but it only seemed to keep going.

The walls seemed to keep moving all around. Finally after the pair moved down the hallway a short distance, Simon stopped and looked back at Ash setting up his bombs.

"Simon, come on. We gotta keep moving."

Simon held up a hand before he looked back to Jimbo.

"If we go to far, Ash might not be able to get to safety quick enough. We gotta stop these walls till he can come with us."

Simon held up his hands before him and looked over Nigel's gauntlets. The round metal fingers would not provide a sufficient grip. But if he had installed the feature Simon had asked for so long ago, Simon smiled when he found the button atop the hand. He pressed it, and four inch tall knuckle spike shot up from the ends of the gauntlet. He did the same on the other and then turned to the wall. He reared back with one fist and drove the gauntlet towards the wall, embedding the knuckle spikes into the wall. He did the same with the other and began to push against the wall.

Simon began to slide across the floor with the wall he was dug into. He looked over to where Jimbo was, only to find that the ape had moved behind him and was pushing on the opposite wall with his back against Simon. Simon smiled as he could feel the walls pushing on both of them, then he turned back down the hall to yell for Ash.

"We'll try and buy you some time Romeo, but lets not take to long heh?"

Alec gritted his teeth as he tried to think. Raven's suggestion made him jerk his head irritably back to her. "Does every one of your solutions involve shooting something?" He snapped.

From her laughing at Duik to her sharp comments towards her own companion to the echoing blasts from her pistol in the small space as she marked their way, everything she had done since they entered irked him. With even more irritation he realized his attitude wasn't going to help matters.

"My gun isn't that powerful. Let me think...there has to be some sort of mechanism moving the wall. If its exposed on this side, maybe we can damage it...Duik!"

"Way ahead of ya bruh!" The hyena grinned and put his head close to the edges of the wall. As they slowly close around them Alec waited. Duik moved about the wall carefully, his ear up against it. Suddenly he leapt back and pointed a paw. Without hesitation Alec brought out the butt of his sniper rifle and smashed it into the ice. Again and again he struck until cracks began to form and the ice chipped.

"Raven, do the same thing on the other side." They were uncomfortably close now, it was getting hard to move. "Better make it quick!" Duik tried to help as best he could, using his claws to rake away the chunks Alec broke free. Suddenly the rifle butt clanged against something metallic and when he drew it away he could see a small gear turning in a bracket between two metal plates. Beneath the ice the walls were solid steel. Detonations would chip the outer layer, but stopping the ice walls came down to that geared mechanism.

"We need something to jam it!" He cried, looking around for something that would fit into the narrow space.

@Kharmin (indirectly: @zCrookedz @Peaceswore @Lioness075 @Flutterby )

Ash worked quick knowing his way around this explosive even better than he knew his own hands. As he worked he made sure it was a on the other side of the hall so no one would get injured from the explosive. "Got it!" He shouted before running over to Simon and Jimbo. When he got there he hit the detonation. With that the explosion went off sending some ice shards in their direction. However due to the low power in the explosive the ice would either sting or bounce off of them rather than pierce or do any real damage.

Once this happened Ash looked around and saw the walls were still moving. "Crap baskets." He muttered as he ran back over to where the explosion had happened rushing as the walls were getting pretty close. "Ashy! Why didn't it work!? You booms usually make things stop moving! These things are still moving!" The small and rather frightened monkey shouted unsure what he could do right now other than remain hidden in Simon's pocket. "I don't know might be blast proof or something!"

When he got to the actual area he looked and saw what was the problem. "Okay I need something to clog or break these gears. The explosion didn't even touch them and I don't have enough time to set another." He muttered as he thought before he blinked several times. In a very quick decision something he likely will regret later along the way he took off his bag as well as his coat. Taking this coat he reminded himself he needed his hands and with that thought. Shoved the thick coat into the gears before moving his hands back he watched them. "This should work. If not Simon, Jimbo I think I need you to help somehow with these things! Theres a good chance the gears here are operating this....at least I hope they are." 'Other wise we are going to get squashed.'

Manjano had tried to share Beth's confidence, but it was honestly getting increasingly difficult by now. They'd gotten close to Leandra before, but this N lady kept toying with them. Who was to say they'd even find their lost companions now?

Falarion tilted his head at Manjano and let out a small whimper, wishing his companion would relax for once in his life.

Seeing movement out of the corner of his eye, Falarion glanced at Totus in time to see his knowing glance. Shrugging at the owl, Falarion then whispered to him, "He can be so stubborn about how he thinks sometimes."

Once inside and armed with a flashlight of his own, Manjano gulped at the intensely cold air, his throat almost immediately seizing up. Couldn't this N person have found a warmer location?

Meanwhile, Falarion was shivering from head to toe. With an irritated sigh, Falarion then said, "My sp-species is from South America, I-I'm not designed for th-this kind of w-weather."

Scratching Falarion's head briefly, Manjano then said softly, "The faster we find them, the faster we get out of here, mate."

Sighing deeply at this, Falarion muttered under his breath, "Says the guy wearing a winter coat."

Nodding at Beth when she chose a path, Manjano followed after her, mindfully watching his step as well. Slipping and face planting near anyone wasn't ideal for Manjano, but doing so near Beth was even more so less ideal.

Overhearing Manjano's thoughts, Falarion entertained himself with the thought of Manjano slipping and sliding until he was in front of Beth and then promptly face planting. He quietly chuckled at this until he saw the glare he got from Manjano. Whoops, um, sorry.

Shaking his head at Falarion's mind antics, Manjano almost missed the new wall segments until Beth stopped in front of him and then turned around to see something behind them.

Hearing Beth and Totus reacting to the new wall, Manjano quickly said, "We need to stop the wall from moving as soon as possible."

Despite the wall advancing on them, Manjano rushed towards it and quickly began scanning the walls adjacent to it while Falarion stuck his head to the wall and used his ears to better locate the source.

Not too long after they'd started, Falarion began barking excitedly and Manjano was soon at his side.

"What is it?"

"I found...something! It's where the noise is coming from anyways. I guess some sort of mechanism?"

Nodding, Manjano suddenly produced a foldable pick axe and went to work chipping away chunks of the ice to get to the mechanism beneath it.

"Woah, where'd you get that!?"

Focusing on his breathing so he could work faster, Manjano thought back, I got it outside amongst our provided gear for the mission. It looked useful at the time and seems to be proving itself right now.

"Mate, that's probably one of the coolest weapon slash tool you've ever had!"

Disarray of emotions filled her being as Xiao Hui heard little small voices in her head, replying over and over again. It was Laohu's voice, yet not so much, as she took notice the sense of urgency and roughness of his tone. She couldn't make out what he was thinking, but one thing's for sure, she felt his anger, disgust, and disappointment. Whatever it was that was making Laohu felt that way, it must have been his kidnapping and the woman that took him, Leandra, and even BB, perhaps. Seeing Barry walk over towards her and Luness, Xiao Hui gave a small wave, glad that he was there to join their small group. It made sense to her that they would pair up, especially since they were at a small "disadvantage" than the other. However, she didn't see it as such, especially, since they didn't have anything to lose and together, as a team, they were stronger than ever since they had something worth fighting for. The three of them would have to make due and make up for what has been lost to them. Xiao Hui knew of Luness' powers however she had yet to see Barry in action. Whatever they decided to do, she now relied on them as they relied on her to make the team work and unite as one. She trusted in believed in them, knowing they, too, waited their companions back as much as she did.

Watching as the others formed their teams, Xiao Hui waited patiently for their signal to begin walking through the maze. The only thing on her mind was getting Laohu back, even if, she was feeling stuffy and claustrophobic in this labyrinth. She'd tough it out, for him, for Leandra, and for BB. Hearing Amber's orders and the suggestion made from Raven, Xiao Hui slipped a hand in her bag as she felt a dagger inside, feeling prepared to mark the ice in the directions her team was going. At that, they began moving from their spot in a group at first. The more they stepped inside the labrinyth, the colder Xiao Hui felt and that wasn't good, especially if she was still not fully healed. Moving her jacket around, she made sure to cover her abdomen and chest fully as she paced herself carefully through the ice path. Flipping on the comms to keep in touch with the other teammates, Xiao Hui gave a small smile as she heard Agent Strong's compliments and encouragements. Once everyone went their separate paths and it was only her team left, Barry had taken the lead as she nodded towards him to go ahead and follow the path he wishes to go on.

Walking into the tunnel, Xiao Hui made mental notes and markings on the walls for reference of her surroundings and where they were. The eerie calmness of the ice labrinyth made Xiao Hui antsy though she kept a calm and passive face on. The ominous blue lighting was a bit hurtful to the eyes but Xiao Hui adjusted her eyes to the lightning fairly well as she remained alert, making sure she watched Barry's back from behind and made sure nothing was coming at Luness from her side. When Barry bumped into the curve of the ice, Xiao Hui gasped slightly, calling out to him, "Are you alright? Be careful." She told him before she looked towards Luness, "Do you think you can perhaps allow us a little more light and some warmth, Lune?" Xiao hui asked softly, seeing that the ice maze surely wouldn't melt so easily if Luness allowed a little flame. "It's a tad too quiet. . . am I'm afraid it's the calm before the storm, so be ready and prepared." She spoke quietly before making another mark on the ice as she walked carefully and evenly on the slippery grounds.

Luness remained quiet after the team entered the ice maze, her mind barely registering Strong's motivational speech, which Manjano and Falarion had been far too distracted to take notice of as well.

Noting Barry was cold as well as Xiao, more so when she requested for some flames from Luness, Luness nodded at the two before closing her eyes and focusing gently on her flames. A second or two later, she willed small flames to dance along her body, creating small blue flames that danced near Xiao's shoulder and hair in a harmless manner seeing as Luness was still perched on the girl's shoulder. Careful to not make her flames add to the odd lighting of the cave, Luness tried to keep them at an orange color while the blue flames near Xiao's body in general remained a navy blue.

Opening her eyes since such small flames were easy for her to control, Luness' eyes suddenly widened, as she noticed they'd quickly approached a dead end. This wasn't a good sign.

Glancing about them, Luness soon heard approaching footsteps and tilted her head to the side before saying softly to Xiao and Barry, "Multiple people are approaching us. I have no idea if they are friend or foe, but I can hear several sets of footsteps approaching us...They sound heavy, as if the people are wearing something that makes them heavier than usual."

Closing her eyes to help herself focus on the sounds, Luness then frowned slightly before adding, "I can hear some kind of metal clinking. Perhaps they are wearing some kind of battle armor?"

The two proud members of the Cryo Squad slowly but steadily approached the location of the small team. They were whistling happily and were laughing now that their boss was not there - it was clear that though their discipline and obedience was absolute their mind was... not the most sane. In fact, they were really happy that they got no explicit orders to capture them... and the fact that they were instructed to have some fun was only amplifying their growing madness in their minds and the ravenous hunger for... well, a battle.

Turning to the left they finally arrived at the back of the team. That they walked into a dead end was truly amusing... and was something which only gave them an edge. Spotting the phoenix radiating some blue flames from herself one of them snapped.

" Well, would you look at that, Jack? " he said, his grin not apparent underneath his gas mask " That chicken already roasts itself. It prepares to be our dinner even before finish it. Isn't that rude? "

" Well I'll be, you are right, Black. " the other retorted, laughing a bit " It is not nice to ruin our fun, noble guests. We do not appreciate cheating in the game you know - you not only have chosen the easy path... "

"... But also brought a living torchlight with you. Fortunately for you however... "

"... The Cryo Squad was sent to entertain you... and to make you dance. "

The one called Jack let out a menacing cackle, using his flamethrower like weapon to shoot some liquid ice on the walls around them... and behind the duo. Their wolves growled in anger as they approached the small party. Their furs seemed to be whiter than usual... it had some sort of ice-repelling protective gel on it which not only kept them warm but kept them safe from their owner's lunacy.

The other one, namely Black, now stepped forward, bowing before their guests.

" As you may know the boss has your pets. Most of them anyway. While she promised that you can have them... "

" ... She also said that you will need to enjoy the game. " Jack laughed " And well, we are the entertainment. "

" Unlike your friends, however, we have no orders to capture you alive... "

" Which means that holding back is... pointless! "

" Well said, Jack. That means that you, my dear friends... "

" ... Will soon feel the cold welcome of Black and I! For you will chill out here for a long-long time... "

With that the two lunatic brothers unleashed their liquid ice weapons on their enemies, cackling like insane people in the process. Being immune to the strange weapon of choice they were using their wolves lunged forward as well - one flying directly towards Luness the other rushing towards Xiao and Barry.

Zoe eyed around the trap carefully... it was foreboding to even think about what was going to happen... she was tense, clutching her trust bow close to her while Eos walked with her closely. Being with Amber meant that she was not really afraid of facing off people... but being crushed to death was something different. Not being able to fight against something insane was... not the preferred battle she would do...

" Zoe, watch out! " Eos' voice run as he barely managed to force the girl to the ground as few deadly shurikens flew across the room, landing in the ice right behind them. Someone was definitely here... someone whose accuracy was as deadly as the intent to kill them. The girl managed to stand up, getting an arrow out of her quiver, looking around.

" Stop hiding in the shadows, coward! Show yourself! " she exclaimed as she finally heard silent footsteps from ahead of them. Out of the darkness a familiar, slender form of a woman started to form. Someone she had seen before during this mission... and someone she was eager to fight.

She was now dressed for battle. On her back rested two razor sharp katanas and on her belt sat dual guns - making sure that neither of the preferred style of war would be out of her reach - she was confident fighting both in close up situations and in melee combat. A sly smile appeared on her pale face, her emerald green eyes burning with eager anticipation.

" Alas, brave-brave adventurers, your meddling has reached its end. " she smiled, folding her arms together, looking at the trio. The tension was high in the air... but she seemed to enjoy this cat and mouse game. She was actually amused how calm her opponents were all things considered.

" You dared to venture into my playground so easily, so foolishly. Bravery or lunacy, the end will be the same. " she chuckled " Even now your allies are either getting ground to dust or... feel the icy embrace of the grave. But... " she said, readying her katanas with speed Zoe could barely follow " They are the lucky ones in this scenario. For you had the misfortune to run into me, here. "

Zoe readied her bow, prepared to shoot any time. Lady N looked at her with a coy smile.

" I wouldn't do that if I were you. " she said silently " Damaging our relationship beyond this point would be pointless anyway, wouldn't it, Zoe? "

The girl froze as beads of sweat were rolling down on her forehead. What was this lunatic talking about? Was this yet another mind trick of hers?

" I am not afraid of you. " she said firmly " I will run you through. "

" Bold words from a little girl. " N smiled once more " But my quarrel is not with you. " she turned her attention to Amber " The fabled, legendary Agent Strong. How long have I waited for this fated meeting. " she smiled.

" Ruining my plans, interfering with my research... charming my family, turning it against me... " she said, hidden anger being apparent in her voice " Being a soldier you must know that you need to suppress your hatred towards people, stay sit until you are ordered to act, waiting with bated breath to jump into action against those who inflict woe upon your soul one after another. Inaction breeds hatred, hatred breeds purpose - and purpose breeds patience. So I waited. Waited for a long-long time to finally meet you. And now you are here. "

Her grip on her weapons tightened, her eyes flaring with lethal anticipation.

" One would think that following orders is a drag, you know. But when those orders align with personal motivation... they suddenly become desires, dreams. And my dream is about to be finally realized. "

She put her two weapons together, tauntingly.

" Know that only one of us will leave this labyrinth alive. And I will make sure that it will be me... " she gritted her teeth " I will take back what is mine. "

Barry brandished a knife at the warning given by Luness. An animals senses are always keener than a humans. He was happy they had some form of support with one of their animal friends. He couldn't believe they were at a dead end. This was bad news for them. No space to run if they really were confronted. They would have to push back if they meant ill harm to them. Just hearing N speak was reason enough to think this was a life or death fight. One he was prepared to do for his teammates at the moment. He saw the two warmly dressed grunts. They seemed to have strange weapons and only when they demonstrated the use did he think it was a bad fight. One spurt from that and you could easily die if hit wrong. He also wondered.. Could they use this weapon to their advantage? It was stupid to think of but it would save them for a little while if they could trap themselves or the enemy in one spot. Make a whole new wall with this liquid ice to cut them off from direct conflict.

His thoughts were cut short though from the sudden attack. Two wolves and two cryo-weapons. One for luness the other for Xiao and himself. He had to think about what he should do. There were plenty of guard dogs when he was in the crime business. Right! Stay calm. Easy enough. He thought as the dogs were coming in close. Get smaller, stand your ground, don't let them get my neck, chest, or face. He stood so that his shoulder was to the wolf. His knife out in front as he tried to make himself less interesting of a target. He didn't have to worry much about his neck or chest now. He raised his other arm to be up to his face just in case some jaws were to clench down. It would be better for an arm to get bit rather than something more life needing. He thrust his knife out to try and cut the wolf. He was aiming for the eyes but that was a pretty hard target to make in his current stance. As long as his back was not to the wall, he could still comfortably move around if need be.
