Fantasy Code FERAL

Simon watched as Ambers laughter and spirits seemed to lift her mood dramatically from where they were headed at ht mention of Greenland. That mission had so many good memories attached to it, the first of which was getting on the phone with Nigel and getting him to use Watch technology to send an ordinary drop a bit outside of town full of Simon's winter gear. Which, once they returned for the mission debrief, Darcy had labeled as "a misuse of Watch resources", and given Simon a weeks probation for it. Even still, the memory made him smile.

As Amber laughed at the memory, she leaned onto him ever so slightly and Simon couldn't help himself from wrapping his arm around her back and taking hold of her opposite arm. Even through the cold, she felt warm. But when she was able to catch her breath and mention him by name, he felt the warmth grow inside and he rubbed her arm a bit before looking out over the ice city again. His face became a bit more stoic as he felt his brain going a million miles an hour. So many things he wanted, no, he needed to say. When would he ever get another chance? What if something happened to them before the mission was over? He had been given a second chance at this, and he wasn't about to blow it. Like someone had flipped a switch, Simon's mind went quiet and he looked down at Amber.

"Amber.....there's something I need to tell you. I should have told you a long time ago. Long before I came back, long before Singapore.......I...."

Simon's words were cut short as an unfamiliar voice cut through the moment and cause Simon to whirl his head toward the dark clad person. His expression was now one of annoyance and quite frankly, shouted: "I want to punch you in the face." But the man had called on them by name, and what's more had just brought up the subject of Leandra and Laohu.

He looked down at Amber once again, a bit apologetic before he lowered his arm and stepped forward towards the man, fists tightening as the knuckles of his gauntlets began to whirr to life.

"And just who in the hell are you? What have you done with our friends?!"

Jimbo watched as Simon began to make his move, but when the new addition to the scenery entered and addressed Simon and Amber with their names, Jimbo was stepping forward as well watching the man, his hand resting on the handle of his .50 Cal under his arm.

" Understood, Master Alec. " Eos nodded in approval. It made sense, he would only be a hindering force for the sniper team. He looked at Zoe with a disheartened look - he did not really fancy the idea of splitting up again but the girl shook her head, indicating that she will be fine, he shouldn't worry. He sighed heavily and walked up to Duik, Xiao and Barry. Both of them guised their distress quite well which was admirable - but the elder stag decided to give them more than company this time.

" I think it would be indeed the best to join forces. " he said, walking up to the little trio " Together we can not falter - we will recover your companions and we will get out of here before any harm could come to either of us. "

He bowed his antlered head.

" I will guard you with my life. I promise. "

Zoe nodded as she silently followed them where Alec was guiding. She looked at the busy city and was lost in her thoughts... she knew not what to expect from the enemy forces this time. All the time until now she was confident that she needed not the help of the Watch. She was a trained fighter, she was able to successfully conduct business in guerilla style few years back. But now... she felt just like another nameless warrior, nothing remaining from the famous Ghost of the North.

What changed, she wondered? Was it the environment which made her weak? Her reliance on others? Perhaps the strength of their enemies grew? She was uncertain... all she knew that now they needed to work together to overcome whatever kept hold of their allies. Stopping the Rogues was more important than ever before.

With thoughts like these did she ascend to the tower Alec designated as a lookout place. It was a good vantage point though a bit too tall for her liking. Drawing her trusty bow and her arrows she looked around.

" I hope we are ready for this. " she muttered, the doubt of her voice surprising even herself.

The lady was quite amused at the audacity of the little hummingbird. She was quite entertaining, definitely the most lighthearted figure of the bunch.

" I would watch my tongue if I were you. " she said with a sickly sweet smile " Umbra might want some delicacy for his dinner... "

She chuckled, turning to Laohu.

" But where are my manners? You will be safe, all of you. Your gracious host wills it so - we all will it. You are far too precious for him, especially you, Laohu. "

She smiled at them.

" What happens to you will be... something extraordinary. You are all part of the great performance - this was but the beginning of the play and my, I must say you are all exquisite actors. " she paused for a moment " You all shall play a part in the great play - one way or another. "

Totus joined Beth as she entered the courtyard, leaving Kitsune to get patched up and join his own companion. They stepped off to the side and conversed quietly with one another, as the others gathered, and they didn't seem to stop talking until they were on the plane. Once they were, Totus settled onto Beth's lap and fell asleep while she preened his feathers absently. The owl was tired- usually Beth kept a more nocturnal lifestyle to suit him.

He awoke when they landed and watched the others during the drive, just as Beth did. Their eyes flickered back and forth nearly in sync, but they chose not to say anything. Beth was still processing the idea that Leandra and Laohu had been taken, and Totus was a little too sleepy still to make much conversation.

The "Ice City," however, was more than enough to wake him. Not only was it cold, the colorful lights set his mind into sensory overload. Beth pulled on a coat, wrinkling her nose because she knew she would still be too cold, and gazed around slowly. It was such a strange place that she had to wonder if their enemies had brought them here as a distraction..

Her thoughts were cut short when Alec addressed her, and after exchanging a glance with Totus, she nodded. "Be safe," She wished them, her gaze lingering on them as they went. It only moved away when she sensed someone step closer to her. She looked next to her, and it was Jimbo. Hadnt he been standing with Simon and Amber? One look told her what she needed to know, as Simon and Amber seemed to be having a conversation that got more intense as the seconds passed..

Only to be cut short by the approach of whoever had brought them here. Beth's right hand moved toward the gun she had holstered, and her left went toward the knife. Oddly enough, he didn't seem overly threatening, but did he have a companion hiding nearby, ready to strike?

Totus followed Alec and Zoe, glancing back at Beth only once. She would be fine, as long as she was with the team. He settled in between them, peeking just over the top of the ice, and let his eyes scan below them. "Someone just approached." He noted aloud, seeing Simon step toward a figure in black.

Leandra yelped in surprise when BB suddenly appeared and unceremoniously fell to the floor with a grunt that only a hummingbird could make sound cute.

Blinking, Leandra couldn't think of anything to say right away, as the lady made her appearance once more and essentially ruined Leandra's morning and probably the rest of her day.

Raising an eyebrow at the lady's oddly warm welcome, though they were kidnapped so Leandra wasn't sure how that made them invited or anything, Leandra then wondered if throwing food at the lady would do anything good for her. It might be amusing, at the very least.

Seeing the lady's smile, Leandra instantly cringed and responded sarcastically, "Oh yes, I'm so comfortable and happy here, knowing I'm far away from my companion and family."

Scowling at the lady and tossing whatever treat she'd first picked up back onto the tray, Leandra then folded her arms over her chest. The mere thought of being torn away from her companion and what little family she had left was making her stomach do uncomfortable flips, resulting in her no longer feeling hungry.

Was throwing up on the lady an acceptable thing to do? Probably not...but it would be very humorous.

Despite Laohu's attempt at remaining calm and kind despite their situation, Leandra felt nothing like that and only wanted to start throwing fists to make her way back to Luness, Manjano, and Falarion. Where were they now?

Not bothering to glance down at Laohu, Leandra muttered to him under her breath, "I'm not hungry anymore."

Hearing Laohu's apology, Leandra wanted to respond, but the lady was already there and she knew better than to potentially give her anymore leverage to use against the pair, now trio with BB.

Seeing Laohu taking a defensive stance in front of herself and the fallen BB, Leandra resisted the urge to argue, as she figured bickering among their small team would not be advisable right now.

Listening to BB suddenly reanimating herself and getting a refresh on her energy, Leandra found herself struggling to keep a straight face, as the hummingbird all but verbally assaulted the lady despite her small stature. Quite the attitude for such a small creature. Then again, Leandra was pretty sure someone had said that about herself before.

Hearing Laohu's question directed at the lady, Leandra had to wonder how long BB had been hiding in her pocket. At least, Leandra hadn't rolled around too much in her sleep and squished the poor BB.

Luness continued to stare down at her perch, as Alec and Zoe left the group with Totus in tow to find a good vantage point.

Continuing to mindlessly scratch at the ice, Luness almost didn't notice Manjano approach her until he was only a foot or less from her.

Slowly looking up at him, Luness almost felt her heart break a second time, as she noticed how pained his expression was. Had she been that hard on him?

But before Luness or Manjano had a chance to say anything to each other, the black-clad man appeared at the edge of the group and spoke of their kidnapped companions, as if it were all normal to discuss.

In an instant, Luness was burning and melting the ice beneath her, as she snapped at the man, "If any of you have hurt a hair on my Leandra, you will burn for it!"

Eyes wide and heart racing, Manjano quickly shuffled away from Luness and joined Beth's side, as he hoped Luness didn't lash out and burn their only contact with their missing companions and family members.

Noting how the others had seemingly gone for their weapons without drawing them yet, Manjano wondered if he should do the same, except he didn't see any proper reasoning for why they'd want to kill off their only contact thus far.

BB shuffled over to Leandra as she flicked the food away. Putting a wing up to cover her mouth from the strange woman, she loudly whispered. Hey! Who is Umbra? She went quickly back to the woman. Look, I have know idea who that is but if they need me captured before hand in order to eat me then they are nothing. As for the acting.... It seems you are lucky I decided to drop by. You're in the presence of the best actor around! No I will not be doing autographs either. Not after the flight I took. You should just be happy I am sticking around. She looked to Laohu and Leandra who seemed to be quite upset at her. It was understandable since they were taken against their will. They needed to get out quick. BB didn't know where the rest of the team was. They could be back in the hotel for all she knows. They needed a little peace and quiet so they could make an escape plan. Now that I think about it. I need some hot towels for my wings. Can't have a show if i'm all stiff right? That just wont do in show business! You said you wanted to make our stay here welcomed. Could you fetch some for us? It would only make the stay ever more relaxing. To be honest, she did feel a little stiff from riding in Leandra's coat pocket for a few hours. So even if they couldn't escape right away, she would hopefully still get some nice soothing heat.

BB made sure to look the woman up and down. She was definitely scary once you look past the "nice" exterior. Now wasn't the time for getting that suck in her mind. She was just the same as any of the mob bosses She and Barry had to deal with in the past. Now, if BB could get out somehow and find something like keys for the two, maybe even detract some guards, they could make a break for it. They needed the two for a reason so they wouldn't harm them right?

Xiao Hui heard Alec's confident's voice as she turned towards Eos, wondering if he was going to go with Zoe, Alec, and Totus. However, it did make sense that it would be hard for a white stag to hide above in the turrets. But, he could blend in with the snow, maybe. Regardless, she let out a light chuckle, wanting to calm herself down before she could really cause mayhem in Harbin. Not wanting to alert the innocent citizens, she decided it would be best to at least find the positive in such a situation: Laohu was close and the person they're meeting has Lea and Laohu with them. But, the questions begs, where had BB gone? Not knowing where she is, to her, feels far more nerve wrecking than knowing your companion has been kidnapped. To Xiao Hui, to be afraid of the unknown and have unanswered question was far more scarier. Was BB back at the hotel? Where had she gone? Was she taken too?

Since there was a meeting that was arranged, Laohu and Lea are still alive, for now. However, no one wants to be kidnapped, especially since. . . it's your other half, the part of your soul that you can't live without, literally. Xiao Hui would rather have her kidnapped than her two most trusted friends. But, how would Alec feel? How would Duirk feel? Was what he said true? She'd grown close to someone other than Laohu, hell, she could say the same for everyone on the team. But, just knowing that Luness and Manjano were in the same position she was in made her feel . . irritated. . hurt, even. Every moment away from Laohu, she felt herself slowly slipping away into the deep abyss.

Regardless, talking to Barry lessened the load since. . for some off reason, she felt as if she couldn't face Manjano or Luness. She couldn't find the courage to talk to them, why? Perhaps it dealt with Laohu, knowing he was there with Lea, and now both of them were gone. Xiao Hui would never blame Laohu, however, she blamed herself. Watching Alec, Totus, and Zoe walk away, Xiao Hui made sure to turn on her comms to keep herself connected with everyone if they were to separate. Hearing that Duirk was adamant with staying with Barry, she watched Alec's reaction before he reluctantly agreed. Looking at Duirk, Xiao Hui gently patted his head before Barry also went to stand next to him. "You're brave, my hyena friend." She whispered softly to him before turning her attention back on Barry. Seeing his smile contort to a rather genuine one, Xiao Hui smiled warmly once more, but soon shook her head, before signing, "Don't. Never apologize, you did what you could. Sometimes. . . when you're in a pinch, there will be a day where you'd have to choose between two people. If you hadn't come for me. . perhaps I would have fallen and reopened my wounds, but Laohu and Lea, may have been rescued. But since you had come, regardless of your coming, I think . . Laohu and Lea would have been taken away . . without any of us knowing, even if we had. . well . . a second chance. I . . should have known, he's my bonded partner, yet I didn't know he was gone before it was too late. You shouldn't blame yourself, never, Barry. But, I'm thankful for your kindness. BB was right about you." She finished before tippy-toeing and patting Barry's shoulder, smiling. "We'll definitely get them back, as long as we work together. Thankfully, we had Raven, didn't we? To quickly call orders and make a plan." Soon enough, Eos came over towards them. Hearing his low, deep, yet calming voice made Xiao Hui shiver slightly. Eos reminded her of Laohu, at times, maybe not his politeness but his determination and honor. Xiao Hui gently patted Eos' head before speaking softly towards him, "Your help is much needed and I'm beyond grateful for your help, Eos. You've been nothing but a companion to us, especially your words of strength. Thank you, my friend." But, before more was said, Xiao Hui heard clad footsteps approaching as the air turned ominous and tense. Xiao Hui walked over, standing by Duirk and Eos, looking ahead. Hearing the man call out Simon and Amber by Agent made her cringe slightly. He knew their names and soon enough, Totus' voice was heard through the comms telling the others someone has arrived. But, at hearing both Simon and Luness' voice and seeing their seething anger, Xiao Hui took deep breathes, inhaling and exhaling, preparing herself to confront the anonymous person. Eyeing the man dressed in black-claded armor, "State your business. What is your condition? What was your aim?" She spoke to him monotonously, not showing any sign of weakness, as she stood up tall and her head raised high.

Laohu lowered his head, growling, baring his teeth at the threat the woman was saying towards BB. Nevertheless, Laohu furrowed his brows as he wondered who their "gracious host" was. Nothing around this place seemed familiar to him, or was it? But, seeing the woman smiling at them made his claws sheath as he prepared to pounce.
"Performance? Actors?" He repeated incredulously as bared his teeth once more hearing the woman speak of his name. He resisted the urge to want to attack her right then, but he figured that it wouldn't be appropriate, especially tearing apart the woman in front of BB and Lea's eyes. Instead, he decided to stand there quietly, observing the woman, making sure nothing else was going to "surprise" them. Hearing Leandra's sarcasm, Laohu shook his head, seeing that all three of them couldn't properly keep their mouth closed. But hearing Lea saying she wasn't hungry he sighed slightly, once more shaking his head. Stubborn as a mule both of them are, he observed. It seemed life decided to throw his life lemons because as much as it was entertaining hearing the loud and very energetic hummingbird speak her mind, Laohu hoped she would shush for a little, considering the woman didn't seem to be the type to have too much patience before she went, well . . insane.

She has guts, he'd give BB that, but regardless, Laohu just let BB talk the woman's brains out, perhaps she'd get a headache and leave them be for the time being. However, he had to admit, with BB around, she was a good distraction, but he didn't know whether this was the time or place. Hearing BB asking for a hot towel, he looked up over her, wondering if she was okay. Her wings were stiff? Was it from being in Lea's pocket? Regardless, Laohu hoped BB was alright, whether or not it was a facade or not. What was more important was to figure out where they were and how far their comrades were. They were here, somewhere, but where was here? "I'm glad you stuck around for us, Laohu." He said, lightening the mood, ignoring the woman's presence completely. Turning his attention away from her, but keeping his ears on alert, Laohu turned his body towards the tray, not looking at the woman anymore. "Play a great part in this play? And what's the point in this play, tell me, is there a lesson involved or is there a bigger meaning behind this charade?"

Raven sighed heavily as she scratched her fingers over her scalp and through her hair. Seeing Kitsune resigned to the car, her attention now turned to the situation at hand. A far cry from the Middle East, this frozen fantasyland that stood before the team was definitely more inviting than the excessive heat, sun and sand that seemed to find its way into everything during her deployments.

She glanced over the heavy coat that she wore and considered that despite the climate things always seemed to force her hand insofar as her attire were concerned. The parka-like jacket was constricting and made a sizeable dent in her mobility. At least the desert uniform allowed for more movement and freedom even if it kept one oppressively hot.

Raven's pistols were holstered as usual, but in this get-up they were more difficult to access in a hurry and would likely make her quick-drawing ability less of an advantage if one at all. She decided against wearing any gloves or mittens so that she wouldn't fumble with them when trying to get to her weapons.

The evening sky above filled with stars and competed against the lights of the City of Ice for attention. At once, they fought each other for dominance – the sky and the city – and yet they seemed to compliment each other as well. People shuttled to and fro among the tall structures as they meandered on their own agendas, oblivious to the real reason the team had arrived.

Her breath steamed before her in a steady, unconcerned stream of air as she breathed and took in the sight. What was the plan? The last excursion the team had taken had no plan and Raven had to resort to improvisation when she pulled the club's fire alarm. Would this assault be just as haphazard?

Once again, she was completely out of her element.

The team tensed on the approach of the Messenger with some holding their emotions in check more than others. Raven guessed that losing one's companion to abduction might have that result, but since she and Kitsune had been joined only recently she wasn't certain that she would have had the same reaction. It was part of the reason for her cold, callousness toward the fox, really. Had Kitsune been one of the abductees, Raven was sure that she would have been able to keep a much more level head about it. Still, the situation warranted caution and as the others moved to engage this Messenger, Raven held back and took notice of their surroundings.

The man knew that he was safe enough for now – he had information that the team wanted – but it didn't mean that they should be less perceptive of any additional ambush. Remembering the falcon, Raven surveyed the star emblazoned skies above them as she waved a hand toward the car to keep Kitsune from exiting. "You're exactly where you need to be, Kit," she warned as she maintained her vigilance.

Satisfied, for the moment at least, Raven returned her attention to the Messenger and waited.

Alec nodded at the owl.

"Don't worry," he answered Zoe's concern with a confident tone. "We're ready."

He trained his shot onto the man just a few moments after he scanned the area for other people that could be with him.

"Totus, can you scan the area? Stay high, out of as much of the light as you can."

Alec noticed a few people that could have been affiliated, but so far there was no one acting outright suspicious.

He spoke quietly over the intercom to the rest of the team: "Totus is doing a sweep, but so far it looks like our new friend came alone."

@DawnAntalios @Flutterby

The curiosity of what Simon was trying to say to her still echoed in the back of Amber's mind. The irritation she felt at the interruption fed the deeper anger that this man had helped steal two of her team away. She had her pistol out and trained on the man in less than a second of him speaking. He raised his hands in defense.

"Your friends are quite well." The man said, taking a careful step further away from Luness. "And they will stay that way, as long as I have your compliance in a simple matter."

"Which is what exactly?" Amber shot at him, her tone was dangerously quiet.

The man seemed a little nervous, which was good Amber thought. It meant he was putting himself in danger by coming to them, which meant he probably did not have backup at any reachable distance. He continued tentatively:

"Xiao Hui." He said, his eyes falling on her. Duik stepped in front of her protectively, curling his lip in a light growl.

"Your father would like a word with you."

Amber's eyes darted to Xiao, the hint of a question forming in them.

"I have been instructed to bring you to the house, please follow me to the automobiles prepared for the trip."

"We're taking our own." Amber snapped. "We'll follow yours."

In a lower voice she said to Simon: "I'm not taking any chances with these guys. We haven't confirmed that they're not working for the damn Rogues."

"As you wish." He said, "North parking lot, the white limo, plate AZ268."

Amber holstered her weapon begrudgingly and allowed him to depart.

"Saddle up everyone. Be ready for surprises. Don't trust anyone beyond our own team, got that? They've still got most of the cards, but I want to know what their game is before we play ours, so no heroics until I give the word. Let's move out."

After the others began to move Amber pressed the com link.

"Zoe, you and Alec take the care Kit and Falarion are in, use the GPS tracker to follow us from a distance. I'll try and give you a heads up for guards and observation towers. See if you can get to where we're going undetected."

"Understood Strong." Alec responded, giving himself a mental pat on the back for sounding so professional.

"I'll go with them." Calista's voice sounded over the device as well. "I can hack the cameras from my phone."

He nodded to Zoe, "looks like we're setting up somewhere else."

The drive out was not terribly long. Great, grey, snow-covered foothills loomed up about them as they made their way into the frozen North forests.

Duik stayed close to Barry and Xiao, glancing nervously at the others in their car. It was Xiao he was most curious about however, the man had mentioned her father...was she somehow connected to this?

They past a set of wrought iron gates, hinged into a tall marble wall and from there passed through thick, bamboo forest. Finally they came to the rounded double doors of a massive mansion, its red columns and pagoda style roof seemed about as traditional as it could get. At each side of the polished marble steps a man-sized fu-dog statue sat, snarling silently at them as they got out of the cars.

They were lead into a lobby furnished with elegant carpets and lined with priceless Chinese artifacts from vases of the Ming dynasty to suits of armour to spears and swords of every description. Amber tried not to look too impressed. The man who had guided them stepped up to a set of elegant rosewood doors, set with angular patterns centered around a magnificent jade lotus blossom that served as the latching mechanism.

This clicked open at length and the man put his hand on the door.

"Please enter first Xiao Hui, your father is on the other side of this door."

@crucialstar @DawnAntalios @Lioness075 @zCrookedz @Bolts @Flutterby @Kharmin

Alec had switched the lights off a long time ago, and following would have been immensely hard if he hadn't asked the night-visioned animals to keep him on the dark, abandoned road. They had gotten there undetected, by what miracle Alec wasn't about to ask. Parking the car in an old shed about 800 meters from the house they were now free to get into a position where they could be more useful.

"Fal, Kit, stay here." Alec said as he put his rifle back together.

"Zoe, Cal, Totus, lets go see what's what."

Simon watched the man with a dead stare. Any move, even just a twitch, and Simon would be on him in a heartbeat. Not to Simon's surprise, he wasn't the only one ready for a fight. He knew Amber already had her pistol at the ready, and Jimbo was not far behind. Then the two that it affected the most were there, Xiao a bit more on the calmer side as she asked where her partner was.

When Luness, quite literally, erupted with anger, Simon had to glance back at the sudden cast of heat. Jimbo's eyes went wide at the flames that Luness created, and had to admit he was a bit surprised by the phoenix's anger. The calm, carrying, and levelheaded Luness was closer to a rage than he would have ever imagined. But if Jimbo were in her feathers, he couldn't say he wouldn't be the same.

As the man began to explain himself, Simon could feel the gears in his head beginning to slow until he was confused. Xiao's father? What did he have to do with Laohu and Leandra being abducted? This was trying to put a square block in a round hole, so he had no other choice but to follow along with the rest of the group and go and meet this man.

Simon's flicked to Amber as she lowered her voice and he nodded in agreement and returned with his own whispering tone.

"If they are, we won't let them get the drop on us this time."

Simon followed Ambers orders, taking note of her instructions to Alec and Zoe as she had them tail the test of them and cover them from a distance.

Simon released his fists and the whirring of his gloves faded away, and Jimbo released his grip on his hand gun as they both followed Amber into the car.

After the short car ride, Simon and Jimbo exited the car and stared at the building they had been brought to. Simon's jaw hung slightly ajar as he gaped at the decorative features both inside and out. As they entered the massive housing, Jimbo gave Simon a thumb on the hip with his shoulder.

"Quit gawking Simon, you need to be ready in case something goes wrong."

Simon nodded at Jimbo and rolled his shoulders as he turned his focus back onto the mission and getting their friends back.

Kitsune waited for a few minutes after watching Zoe and the others disappear into the darkness. He started tearing at his bandages, first freeing his head and the one ear that had been pressed down by the wrappings. "Ah, that's better," he said softly as the offended ear twitched and turned in its new-found freedom. The fur matted around his damaged eye on the same side as the medical salve that had been applied around it remained after the removal of the gauze.

The fox then ripped the swaddling from around his mid-section where an equally liberal amount of the same salve had been slathered across the deep lacerations from his avian opponents. He grimaced as soreness protested his actions, but bore the discomfort with ... well, a little, quite swearing.

"Ok, Falarion," Kitsune said as the last of the bandages fell to the floor of the car. "Just sit tight and I'm sure you'll be fine." He tested his injured foreleg, still ensconced in wrappings that he left on for support, and deemed it well enough ... at least for the job at hand. Or paw, in his case.

Silently, Kistune slipped from the car and into the night. He tracked toward where the others had gone by following their scent. Handicapped by only one, good eye, Kitsune's progress was slow and he made it even slower by taking frequent pauses to ensure that he didn't inadvertently run into Zoe and the others.

He crested a small rise and spied the sprawled complex below. As much as he wanted to run to Raven's aid, he steeled his internal resolve and crouched down at the edge of the copse that concealed him. He buried most of his body in the soft snow, which felt heavenly on his wounds. He glanced up at the sliver of a crescent moon and decided to wait and watch from this vantage point for several minutes.

Time crept by, but the sly fox was patient – yet another trait diametrically opposed to his companion. During his vigil, he didn't sense anything amiss with Raven through their connection and decided either it was still too new or that she was still too far removed for it to be of any use. Regardless, Kitsune knew that she would need him and it would only be a matter of time.

Satisfied with his observations of the guard and few security measures he could see from the hill, Kistune left his position and slinked toward the mansion. He knew that it wouldn't be that easy, but he was determined to be where he needed to be when he needed to be there.

Her heart quickened a beat when the messenger's gaze fell on her, speaking directly to her. Xiao Hui's face remained impassive, as if the information he provided her didn't mean a single thing to her. But, in reality, it meant everything, she felt slighty dizzy, but reminded herself to keep up the performance, for her teams' safety. Hearing that Laohu and Leandra were okay was slightly relieving to her, but regardless, knowing they were in the hands of people she didn't know but worked under her Father made things even more. . . complicated. Her Father wanted to see . . a traitor? Why hadn't he killed her the moment she arrived? Something's going on . . and it's more than just. . whatever this is right here. First Rogues, Nian, and now the her own people, or were they still her people? Eyes are everywhere. Despite her Father having the majority of Beijing, other parts of China, and even Hong Kong, there were other organizations still competing for the position of being the top, like her Father.

What did her comrades think of her now? Did they suspect that she was involved? She shouldn't have gotten close. . and she wouldn't blame them if they mistrust her now, especially with their enemies asking her to see her own Father. They all got caught up in this War. So, it really was her fault. Standing tall, Xiao Hui's demeanor changed gradually with each step she took going to the car. She remained quiet, only sitting up straight in her sit, her shoulders pushed back, and her head raised up. Xiao Hui never spared a glance to anyone, even if she felt questionable and curious gazes on her. Was Luness angry with her? Was Manjano raging internally at her? Or were they all just confused as she is? Dread filled her body as she fought against her mental, emotional, and physical state. She can't show weakness yet and she can't show her feelings anymore. Her mission is to not be see-through like clear , transparent glass, especially if the person she is up against is her own Father. But, that begs the question, what did Father want from them and with these people she barely recognized? No one came through their territory alive unless there was a truce. So, what was it?

All of Amber's orders flew through her head as she didn't pay attention to any of them for the time-being. Should she warn them? Should she help them? What should she do? She already was a flight risk and bringing her back home wasn't safer than being away from home. There were those on the look-out, far away to see the surroundings, while most of them were directly following the male towards . . . home. But, was it really home? Would she be greeted as a criminal or as the Lady of the House? Regardless, she knew she was in a tight spot as she willed herself to stay strong, not wanting to rely on anyone or show any favoritism towards them. The colder she is with them, the better their situation would become. However, before she knew it, Kit jumped out of her coat, landing on her lap, next to Duirk and Barry. Blinking, Xiao Hui looked down, petting him gently before looking over towards Duirk, seeing curiosity in his eyes before she gave him a saddened smile.

Looking out the windows of the car, Xiao Hui knew the way to her "home" all too well and seeing the direction the car was taking them, it was definitely true. The man was taking her to see her Father. But, does that mean Laohu and Leandra were elsewhere? Just what games are they playing? What does Father have to do with any of this? Passing through the iron gates tot he thick, bamboo forest, Xiao Hui eyed her surroundings, taking in what's happened and what will happen. The road was all-too familiar, except this time more people have came without her, with the exception of Laohu this time. Laohu was the one by her side when she left, but now that she's come back, he had been taken away from her. Was this some sort of punishment? Now, more than ever, she felt alone, not knowing what her companions thought of her which surprised her greatly. Since when had she cared about other's opinions of her? Maybe. . . it was because of them . . she changed so much to the point she had almost forgotten her origins. Almost.

Being greeted by the quietness of the manor, Xiao Hui looked at the all-too familiar statues, their furnished lobby, their historical artifacts, and the varies pieces of artwork hanging on the walls of the manor. It was a traditional home, as if it came out of the Dynasties. As the elegant, massive, rose-wood door opened for her, Xiao Hui heard the Messenger to walk in as her father is on the other side. Before walking in, Xiao Hui turned around slowly, her steps and movements graceful like a swan's. "Before you walk in, I have to warn you, please don't speak out of turn or if you're not spoken to. I also have to ask you to not make any sudden movements or threats towards my. . . . Father." She said to them, her eyes looking upon her comrades before her stoic facade fell down briefly, sending them a small yet saddened smile. But as quick as it came, her expression reverted back to it's expressionless form as she turned around and carefully made her way inside the room.

ZhugeLiang_2859.jpg
From inside the room, Zhuge Liang was looking out the window, waiting for his . . nǚ ér to make an appearance. The room was enclosed with different masterful art pieces that depicted different tales and stories in Chinese culture, but the one thing that was constant in the paintings were of the Hēilóng. In the middle of the room, a red carpet were placed between two pairs of red-wooden chairs with intricate designs on the back of the chair. The cushion was red clothed that had been a hand-made embroidered depictions of flowers and traditional Chinese symbols. On one corner of the room, there laid swords stacked like a shelf, waiting to be sheathed. The floors were slippery and squeaky clean yet when Zhuge Liang walked, he walked with ease and poise. His back was turned from the door as his brows furrowed in thought as his aura was mighty and wise. On the other side of the room, there laid two shelves of thick, ancient, ten pound books full of stories, legends, and history. Scrolls were hanging above the desk that laid next to the shelves. There were different accents to the room that made the room feel smaller, though, the room was massive in size. But, the first thing one would see would be two steps that raised up, allowing a full view of a larger desk draped with gold and red cloths. Everything about the room spoke more than ordinary, as even the air in the room felt a little too tense or thick. A pin drop could be heard from the silence and the only sound that could be heard was one's breathing. Some musical instruments laid around the room, properly cleaned and re-touched and tuned.

Hearing the doors click open and voices in the air, Zhuge Liang didn't turn around, hearing the footsteps that could only belong to his nǚ ér, light as a feather, though, more footsteps were heard, rowdy, untamed, and very ungraceful-like, as they began to crowd inside the room. Hearing the voice of the man he had ordered tell him they have arrived, Zhuge Liang lifted up his hand, as a signal to stop talking and to stand on the side until further notice. An air of silence filled the room. He felt the confusion, the anger, the curiosity in the room as he slowly turned around. Before the company, a man dressed in traditional Chinese attire faced them. His hair was as black as night, his face as stern and expressionless as his skin was as pale as snow. A very well-trimmed beard formed his face as it hardened as he stared at the people before him. His eyes gazed around the room, though he never moved an inch or a muscle. His outfit seemed like a robe, though many layers and compartment was put into such an elegant outfit, especially if there was a symbol of a phoenix on his garments. He wore two different colored gloves, one white, and one black. Just like yin and yang. A hair piece was placed on top of his head to show his leadership and his honor. Though in this time period, it may seem a little off and odd, to Xiao Hui and her family, it was traditional, especially since the clothing meant more than appearances sake. Clothing can make a man or a boy.

Seeing her father before her very eyes, Xiao Hui gazed into his eyes, never flinching and never moving. She was taught to never turn away from a gaze, especially if they were locked. "Never look away first, it shows weakness." He always told her. Xiao Hui didn't speak first, knowing it was disrespectful to do so, especially if she was summoned. Slowly making his way towards Xiao Hui, Zhuge Liang kept the feather-like fan to his chest as he approached her. Once he was near, another moment passed as they looked each other in the eye before Zhuge Liang's hands raised up and quickly went down, smacking Xiao Hui's cheeks in the process. A loud SMACK! could be heard, echoing in the room as her face was bright red from the hit. Zhuge Liang huffed as his hands shook slightly before he spoke venomously, "Bèndàn!" (Idiot) Zhuge Liang exclaimed, his voice raised an octave higher, though he did not scream. Spitting at her slightly, he shook his head, "Disgrace." He finished before pushing pass through his worthless daughter as he eyed the people she had been fraternizing with since then. Looking at each one of them, Zhuge Liang's eyes only narrowed when he saw a phoenix. "And who's this? A Phoenix has approached this House? Welcome, another legendary one." Zhuge Liang said coldly before eyeing the others. Seeing Agent Amber and Agent Sinclair, Zhuge Liang looked towards his messenger then back at them, "I've heard," He spoke to them, "that there was a mishap down in a certain club? The information that you're trying to get your hands on, how close are you to solving it? Were you able to catch them?" Zhuge Liang chuckled shallowly before turning his back towards his "daughter" and then looking at the crowd, observing all of them. "Are you worried about your friends? How is this team-work going out for you? Your emotions, your thoughts, your weakness," He spoke gruffly, "it's all planted on your face. It's a wonder you had your. . . teammates. . taken away so . . easily. Is this all the Watch Agency is capable of? Well, well . . you have a long way to go, if you want to catch these Rogues and stop them." Feeling slightly tired, though he remained alert and showed no signs of fatigue, Zhuge Liang turned his back on them, "You have something I want and I have something you want, more than your friends. . . information on what you seek. Shall we start the deal?"

On another note, outside, the guards were given a signal to prepare for anything. The companions were out, sweeping the premises as they smelled the different scents that were in the room of their Leader. All of the guards and their companions stuck to protocol, staying on alert, as well as ready to take anyone down who dares trespass the premises, like every normal day. However, this time, small gossips and word had spread that the "Princess" had arrived and came home. How was this possible? Leaving warrants the death penalty. Would the Master kill her for the sake of upholding the law or would he forsake it? Why were these Agents here? To strike a deal? But, despite the confusion, they followed their Leader and stayed loyal to him, no matter what the case or cause may be. He was their Savior after all. But, soon shouts were heard from across the mansion as an intruder had been found!

Barry didn't like this one bit. Now they wanted Xiao? More importantly her father wanted to see her? Barry might not be on the best of terms with his folk but kidnapping agents and more importantly friends seemed extreme if not a little fishy. Her father must have some deep and powerful connections to do stuff like this. Never the less, he stayed at her side. The grunt seemed uncomfortable with his current position as messenger. As he should be. Barry concluded he would not strike unless someone tried to hit him first. Though he kept his guard up, he felt it was fine to lessen it so seeing as it would not help getting the others back. Before he knew it, the grunt asked for everyone to follow him to cars. He, like everyone, walked while they were on edge. He shot a few glances at Xiao to see how she was fairing. She spoke not a word it seemed. Possibly nervous or scared or even a bit of both. As they approached the cars, they too seemed a bit.. much. Strike two.. He thought to himself as he carried a blank yet thoughtful expression.

He sat down in the limo near Xiao, Duik, and soon to be met with Kit. He watched as she looked out the window, her thoughts running chaotically through her mind. Whatever was going on was bigger than just some rouge thing. It was something of an extreme family feud where they have quite some power backing them up. Again, it didn't sit right with him. What was his mind trying to tell him? Every time he kept inching closer to the answer, his mind wandered to thinking of BB and worrying. He sighed and gave himself a breather. He could not think clearly so he just allowed himself to worry for now. Get as much of his feelings out of the way before big things were to take place. Negotiations never are very smooth. It usually ends with both parties only half as happy as they could be. Still, on the short ride, he took note of the dense location and security measures.

He got out of the door to view the huge building. He was no architect but he could tell this was fancy. He was actually kinda jealous! Money had been his biggest problem for as long as he could remember. As they walked in, he finally came up with how things were playing out. Why everything was such a big deal and the resources to get rid of the problems along the way. They might be from different cultures, but those who deal with underground organized crime seem to have similar taste. Expensive things that are one of a kinda like he saw as he passed the lobby full of antiques and presumed luxury goods. The guards and their numbers were too huge just to be a rich family. No, they needed protection from the law. Lastly, their underhanded method for getting them to come here. Kidnapping a friend is a classic move. He glanced at Xiao. He was very interested on how this would play out. It could even give him some insight at what would have happened if his old crime boss didn't think he was dead.

He walked in to the grand room where they were met with a very traditional looking man. You could tell he had a lot of honor but his expression told those paying attention he felt he lost face due to Xiao. Barry stood there watching the interaction play out. He was cross-armed and that slap on the cheek made him grip his arm hard. Still, he listened to Zhuge in his attempt to start a trade. Barry did not like the feeling of this. He wished he could speak up and tell them a deal like this never ends well. Still, he felt himself stepping up a little. Oh how he wished his old boss had paid attention to crime in other countries. This might have gone smoother had he a little dirt on the guy.

Luness calmed herself when she noted how everyone was edging away from her. Considering she had no control over how Leandra was treated right now, she needed to remain calm and do as the man said, else she may anger the wrong person and get Leandra injured even further.

Of course, it was far easier to calm down when Leandra was around, but Luness closed her eyes and focused on her breathing until her flames subsided and her feathers returned to their normal, white glow.

Opening her eyes, which were blue now that their disguises from their previous mission were no longer necessary, Luness then blinked, as she heard the man speak directly to Xiao Hui. About her father no less...

Tilting her head at Xiao's lack of a reaction to this, Luness felt her confusion only growing. What did the kidnapping of Leandra and Laohu have to do with Xiao and her father?

Feeling frustrated that she wasn't getting to see Leandra yet, Luness ruffled her feathers and huffed at the man, but it seemed they were moving to the transportation and traveling to Xiao's father's house first.

Once in their personal transportation, Luness chose a far corner and began idly scratching at her seat, as she fought back the growing frustration inside of her. How was meeting Xiao's father going to help them get back Leandra? This just made no sense.

When they entered the mansion, Luness felt her confusion only continue to grow, as she noted the immense wealth of Xiao's father. Just who was this man?

As Luness had learned in the short span of time she spent with the twins in foster homes, wealth rarely meant that one was going to be kind or caring. She'd heard people speak of wishing for wealth more than anything else in the world, and yet, they'd have great families and Luness would hear Leandra speak of jealousy towards them for having less wealth, but stronger family connections. It was certainly an interesting concept.

Noting Xiao's warning, Luness nodded her head and then flew over to land on Manjano's shoulder. Despite her verbal lashing earlier, Manjano was her only family with her right now and she'd need the extra hand in remaining calm considering Leandra was still being held captive.

Seeing Manjano's both startled and confused look at her, Luness whispered in his ear, "You're my only family right now and I need to remain calm if we are to follow Xiao's wishes."

And with that, they entered the room.

Once inside, Luness' head was immediately on a swivel, as she noted the many different items strewn about the room.

Once she noticed the man standing just beyond them, Luness' eyes locked on him, as she noted that this man had kidnapped her own companion.

Watching Xiao's father approach her with barely contained anger, Luness instantly wilted slightly, as she saw a brief flashback of one of the twins' fathers approaching Leandra with the same barely contained anger.

Not wanting to disrupt anything or mess up their attempt to get Leandra and Laohu back, Luness immediately looked at the floor, though her slightly labored breathing gave away her distress.

Hearing Xiao's father address her, Luness looked up sharply and met his gaze, as he spoke coldly towards her. Did he even know he had kidnapped her companion?

Seething, Luness opened her beak to snap at the man, only for her beak to suddenly be clamped shut by Manjano's hand.

Annoyed, Luness glared at him, but only saw his calm expression in return. Even though they were supposed to remain calm and collected, Luness found this man infuriating and just wanted to, well, burn something. Do anything to lash out at him and get her daugh-companion back.

As Manjano noted her resolve to not say anything, he let go of her beak, leaving Luness to look back at the floor and wonder why she'd just thought of Leandra as her daughter instead of her companion.

Still, the moment Xiao's father mentioned starting a deal, Luness couldn't help herself and her gaze shot up and met his before she said sharply, "What's the deal? I want my companion back, who you unjustly stole from me! Whatever this is between you and your daughter, it has nothing to do with my companion!"

Ruffled by this man's unusual calmness in this situation, the feathers on Luness' head stuck straight up and her tail feathers followed suit, as she subconsciously assumed a challenging stance. In doing so, small flames began to dance along her feathers, though any close to Manjano's shoulder or face changed to a blue color and seemed to remain harmless towards him.

Manjano listened to the man, as he spoke to Xiao directly and mentioned her father wanting to speak with her. This was quite the odd way of a father deciding he wanted to speak with his daughter. Was it a foreign culture thing or something else?

Still, Manjano glanced at Luness and could see the mixed emotions on her face and in her eyes. Manjano felt the same way. He wanted his twin sister back, but why did they have to go meet Xiao's father first? And why were they simply taking this man's word that Leandra was okay? How could they trust him?

Glancing back in time to see Falarion peeking curiously out of the car at him, Manjano gave him a small wave, before turning away and following the others towards the other vehicle.

Sitting in the car, Manjano leaned forward in his seat with his hands intertwined and elbows resting on his knees, his expression one of deep thought.

Just who exactly was Xiao's father? Already, it was clear that he was someone powerful, but what type of powerful? Political, maybe? Though, kidnapping probably wasn't something a powerful, political person would do to their own daughter and her team. So, someone of a darker type of powerful. But, what type?

As they entered the massive mansion, Manjano didn't let his eyes wander long before he focused instead on where they were being led. It didn't take him long to memorize the route back to the front door, as he didn't like not knowing, at least, one escape route in case things went awry here.

Listening to Xiao's brief warning, Manjano raised an eyebrow when she hesitated to say 'father'. They certainly had something of a strained relationship. Though, considering her father had kidnapped her companion, it was already pretty obvious to him.

Luckily, Manjano was more of the observant type and hadn't really planned on saying anything to begin with. In that sense, he supposed he was more of an opportunist, too. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike...or say something.

Startled when Luness landed on his shoulder, Manjano jumped slightly before relaxing again and giving her an inquisitive look. Why was she suddenly friendly with him?

Hearing Luness' explanation, Manjano nodded at her with resolve and whispered back, "I understand."

And with that, they entered the room.

Looking about the room they entered, Manjano found himself a bit confused by the decorations and items about. This wasn't really helping him in understanding who Xiao's father was. Still, Manjano had deduced enough to know this man was dangerous. Someone in his position and with his capabilities was certainly not someone they wanted on their bad side. Especially while he still had Leandra and Laohu.

As Xiao's father approached her, Manjano heard Luness' breathing and looked to her with worry in time to miss Xiao's father slapping her.

Unable to help himself, Manjano took an unconscious step backwards, as he too remembered this very scenario unfolding for his sister before. Not just once, either.

Having clamped Luness' beak shut when she'd been addressed and probably ready to burn the man, Manjano was relieved when she relaxed once more, resulting in his letting go of her beak. Keeping her calm would, of course, be far easier if Leandra were here.

Listening to the man addressing all of them and their mission, Manjano furrowed his brows in slight confusion. What was he getting at and why did even care about them like this? Was he perhaps trying to unsettle Xiao's thoughts towards them and their mission? After all, he'd been pretty determined to bring her here.

It didn't take long after Xiao's father mentioned a deal for Luness to erupt. So much for remaining calm and collected. There really wasn't much Manjano could do now to calm the phoenix. This was one of those times that only Leandra could do such a thing.

Glancing sideways at Luness, Manjano noted the blue flames dancing near him and how he felt no heat from them. Luness really had some serious control over her flames to be able to focus on her speech and control the flames at the same time.

Falarion had remained quiet the entire time Alec drove their car. He had gotten slightly excited when Manjano had waved at him earlier, but then Manjano left and now Falarion just felt anxious. He didn't like being benched on any missions.

Sighing when Alec told him to stay here, Falarion lowered his head onto his paws and then folded his ears onto his head, feeling all but useless at the moment. This was no fun.

Hearing some muttered curses from the seat over, Falarion lifted his head in time to watch Kitsune remove his bandages.

Feeling confused immediately, Falarion asked him, "What are you doing?"

Receiving no answer, Falarion frowned and then watched, as Kitsune tested his injured limbs.

"You won't make it far with those injuries, Kitsune. Where are you going and what do you plan on doing?"

Watching the fox leave with no answer to any of his questions, Falarion felt increasingly frustrated, though he couldn't go anywhere or go far.

After all, he had bruised ribs and labored breathing alone would give him enough aches and pains to wish he'd never stood up or moved anywhere.

Whimpering to himself, Falarion lowered his head to his paws once more before finding himself feeling useless yet again.

It was bad enough that he couldn't help the team in this mission or help find Leandra, but now he'd lost the one person he could talk to in the car and was alone. Falarion hated being alone.

As they entered and made their way deeper into Xaio's childhood home, Raven made mental notes of their passing should an unplanned escape suddenly become necessary. She glanced at Xiao and silently commended the girl for keeping a confident posture in the face of what would probably be a less than happy reunion.

The location may have been different, but the scene before her was all too reminiscent for Raven. During her tours in the Middle East, she and her team had infiltrated many, large complexes resplendent in their opulence at the detriment to the very people over whom the rich deigned to rule. Gilded in gold and precious gems, the miniature castles in the desert shined in their glory, only to hide the cruel depravity that resided within.

Here, the manor house was steeped in mahogany, cherry and rose woods whose dark colors were beautifully offset by the lighter shades that paneled the walls and accented the various object-d'arte that had been meticulously placed throughout. Even the lighting was arranged with purpose as if it, too, could be cowed by the manor's proprietor.

Her own experience told her that people who lived in such palatial accommodations often did so to display their power and prestige to the masses and that they would take any measures they deemed appropriate to maintain their status and stature. Either China or Iran it seemed made little difference; Raven knew first-hand the evil, twisted machinations of people who commanded such a residence and understood well Xiao's warning to the team. Raven hoped that the rest of them would be wise enough to heed it. By all visible accounts, the person who they were being escorted to meet was a very dangerous man.

The room in which they finally met their host maintained the same, ordered familiarity shared by the rest of the house that Raven had seen thus far. As the others regarded Xiao's father, Raven glanced around the room. She didn't need to see his fancy clothes, immaculate style or intimidating bearing to know just how thin the line was that they were all treading. She suppressed a smirk lest she insult their host but the comedy of it all was difficult to keep in check.

That he slapped Xiao didn't completely surprise Raven. The man demanded respect and would prove that he deserved it. He held some of their team hostage, so some humility on their part was necessary to continue the farce. Fortunately, the team didn't take the bait and Raven considered, for a moment, that they might actually pull this off.

But then, Xiao's father spoke of a deal. So, she thought, the man isn't quite as powerful as he pretends to be. He held all of the cards, so why the display? What could the group possibly have that he couldn't simply take from them?

Raven's attention was jerked away from him as Luness spoke up and took a more threatening posture. Inwardly, Raven cringed. This was definitely not the right play, and once again they were improvising with no plan at all. Someone had to interject and Raven realized that she wished Kitsune had been with her for his wit and quick talking might have been enough to calm the scene.

The small, red fox continued his solo assault on the complex. Limping, he left an obvious trail through the snow which he determined couldn't really be helped. Time was not on his side – Raven needed him, he just knew it!

Kitsune eased as well as he could through the icicle laden scrub bushes along the edge of the complex until he found a hole just large enough penetrate the fence. He ferreted through the hole (and silently chuckled at the irony of a fox 'ferreting') which tore at the lacerations in his fur. Undeterred, he continued through the bamboo and ducked into a small garden that, surprisingly, flourished with a variety of leafy, winter-type plants.

From his new vantage point just under a football field length away, he surveyed the manor house. It was well lit which increased his chances of not being seen on his approach. The light from the windows would affect any sentries looking this far out.

Kitsune steeled himself and glanced again at the moon to check his time. He had tarried too long, spent way too much time trying to get to this point! He just had to get to Raven and there was no more argument about it.

With what little endurance remained – heck, the little fox was running on adrenaline! -- Kitsune ghosted from planter to tree as he crossed the span of the garden. His progress was much slower than he would have liked as his bum foreleg continued to hamper his movement.

He stopped against the trunk of a well pruned birch tree to catch his breath. His brief respite was abruptly shattered as a bright, white light trained right on him. "There it is," a voice sounded from behind the glare.

"Better get rid of it," another voice said and the hushed sound of a sword being brought forth from its sheath hissed the distance between them.

"Don't get too close," the first voice said. "It looks mangy to me."

"Mangy?" Kitsune perked up and spoke with indignation. "Good sir, I'll have you know ..."

"It's a companion!" one exclaimed. A figure wielding a sword charged into the spot of light.

Kitsune bolted ... well, for as much as his wounded leg would allow. He darted in a chaotic pattern through the garden and the two guards fell into pursuit. After a brief sprint, Kitsune knew that his escape was doomed. He hadn't paid attention to his way in and had no idea where the hole in the fence was. Besides, he continued to drip a trail of blood in his wake which, against the pristine white snow, was easy to track.

He stopped and turned to face his pursuers. "Now, look fellas," he implored. "I'm not really trying to do anything more than get inside. You see, my companion is in there and ..."

"Told you he was one," one of the guards said as he closed in on Kitsune. The other held the light on the fox which slightly blinded his one, good eye.

"Hey, maybe we ought to take him to the Master," the one with the light suggested.

"Yes, that's a grand idea," Kitsune agreed as he wheezed to catch his breath.

"Perhaps you're right," said the one on approach. He sheathed his sword, grabbed Kitsune by the scruff of his neck and lifted the fox clear from the ground without effort. "Maybe it'll amuse him."

"Amuse?" Kitsune asked with a weak chuckle. "Um, no, actually if you just take me to the gate, I promise I won't try to come back in. Can't you cut a poor fox a break? Huh? Fellas?"

But Kitsune's pleas were without merit. The guards headed toward the manor with Kitsune held firmly by the nape. Resigned to his new fate, Kitsune hung limp and tried to hope for the best, but even his typical knack for finding a famous quote betrayed him.

Totus gave a nod and took off, flying in wide circles high above. He didnt see anything notable, but stayed up there until the team began to move.

As they climbed in to the vehicles, Beth cast a glance toward the sky, but even with the rainbow of lights, she couldnt catch sight of him.

She chewed on her lip silently for the ride over, as Totus ruffled his feathers every few minutes in the trailing vehicle.

Beth stared at the ornate surroundings, her nervousness growing by the second.

As they stepped into the room, Beths eyes went instantly to the man standing there. Had she not been so nervous, she might have giggled at his outfit. But she knew something was very, very wrong here.

That was confirmed when he slapped Xiao. Beth dropped her eyes to her toes and held her breath. These were the kind of men that terrified her.

As soon as the car stopped and the doors open, Totus flew out. He went high again, and circled the entire expansive compound. Over the coms, he said, "This place is guarded like Fort Knox. We wont be getting out unless they let us." He was turning back to the car, when a commotion on the ground caught his attention. The owl swooped lower, and swore.

"Alec, Kitsune must have left the van and Falarion. He has been captured. The goons are taking him toward the house."

@SilverFlight

Simon and Jimbo watched as Xiao headed for the door with the ornate jade flower on it. Simon still amazed by the surrounding house was admiring a painting on a wall across the room when Jimbo nudged him with his shoulder to pay attention. He looked down and Jim, then at Xiao as she was just finishing up talking about what not to do. Luckily Jimbo had been listening.

He did not know a lot about Chinese culture, but based on some of the old movies he had seen, the way Xiao was telling them to act sounded pretty traditional. The problem Jimbo could see was Simon and his big fat mouth. Hopefully, he could keep him in check until they got out of the room with Xiao's father.

As Xiao entered the room, Jimbo and Simon followed with the others into yet another immaculately decorated section of the giant house, this one with a single person on the opposite side of it. Simon, who was too busy staring around at this new room full of paintings and plush red cushions, didn't notice a rug and stumbled a bit as he entered creating a bit of a commotion with his feet. Jimbo sighed as he waited for Simon to regain his footing and continued on with the group.

When the man threw his hand up, Simon and Jimbo both stopped along with the group, watching as he slowly turned around and began to make his way towards them. The man had an air about him that made Jimbo feel uneasy. His stare was hard and never wavering, and it was trained on Xiao like a starving hawk who had just found a mouse. When he reached the group and Xiao, the unease had only grown even more in Jimbo and he watched as he raised his fan and struck Xiao across the face.

Almost out of reflex, Jimbo reached up quickly and quietly as he could and grabbed Simon's belt from the back. The big guy had been watching the two once Xiao's father had gotten closer, and when he hit Xiao, Jimbo could feel the anger welling up. Simon stopped the instant he felt his belt taken ahold of. He looked down at Jimbo in confusion and Jimbo simply shook his head with a stern look. Jimbo knew what Simon wanted to do, but Xiao had asked them not to say anything or approach without being asked.

When Xiao's father moved away from her and began walking towards the group, Jimbo could feel Simon's anger sweeping over him as he mentioned the club. Simon watched the man as he spoke of Leandra and Laohu as if they were nothing but scraps to be bartered with and it only made him more angry. The more he spoke the more Simon wanted to show him what The Watch was capable of. Jimbo did the best he could to try and sooth Simon's anger, but like tossing water on a raging fire, it merely turned to steam.

Finally, Xiao's father got to the heart of his speech and said that they had something he wanted. Simon looked at Jimbo and then to Amber with a questionable glance. Maybe it was something on one of the devices that the group had snatched from the club. At that thought, Jimbo gave Calista and Alec a glance. Maybe one of them knew what information he wanted. They didn't have long to think about it before finally a voice broke through the silence, and rather abruptly at that. Luness's words had anger and furry behind them, and they were obviously ment to prove that she was less than happy about Leandra being taken. Jimbo couldn't help but worry for Manjano being set ablaze by Luness and her furry should Xiao's father postpone giving Leandra back any longer.

Lady N. waited patiently as her guests were stirred from the uneasy feelings they had towards her. She did not want to incite hatred towards them... no, she had greater plans with them though it was true that cooperation was not something she could expect from either of them after her actions. She did not care - she would have her way either way. She worked too hard and planned this for too long for this opportunity to slip out of her grasp. Those imbeciles failed their mission once, she was to finish it.

" Oh dearest Laohu. " she smiled " Don't you worry about things like that. I have everything under control. It is only a matter of time before- "

She heard fluttering of wings and the stirring of the guards at the door as it swung open. Through it the gargantuan falcon Umbra emerged, soaring through the sky with grace. He took a few laps in the room, analyzing everyone and everything in it before he decided to descend and take his position on the woman's shoulder. His mistress stroke his head gently with with her fingers, smiling at him.

" He is Umbra, my little friend. " she said, looking towards BB " But I presume most of you have already known that. "

She turned towards her companion.

" What brings you here? You grew hungry? The hummingbird should serve you a good appetizer I think. "

" As much as I would like to feast upon its bones I have urgent news. " the falcon spoke, whispering into the air of N. Her eyes widened then a satisfied grin appeared on her expression. It was time to act.

She snapped with her fingers as four ominous looking guards appeared in the room, entering through different, hidden doors. They wore the same uniform as the one of their captors - yet something was off about these figures. They seemed to owe no allegiance to the chinese lord whose hideout they were in... No, they seemed to be loyal to the dark lady standing in front of them.

" Oh my, look at the time. " she said with a sickly sweet smile. " I think you, my dear guests, do long for a change of scenery... and an opportunity to meet with your allies. "

Her eyes narrowed.

" Well, I shall provide that to you both now. It is time to... cool your heads. "

her goons quickly jumped next to Lea, Laohu and BB seizing each and every one of them, putting them to sleep with chloroform-drenched tissues, inducing a sweet, sleepy state upon the three of them. With her guards in tow Lady N. walked outside of the door to the horror of the two guards.

" My lady... what are you doing with the hostages? Lord Liang clearly gave us orders that- "

" The Lord wishes the plans changed. " she replied coldly " I am to take them into a safer hideout. "

" Safer than this? Where? "

The woman's lips curled into a smile.

" Well, let's just say that they will have time to... reflect on their lives while waiting there. "

She could not explain why was she so tense but Zoe had a foreboding feeling throughout the entire journey towards their new destination. That Xiao was the main target of these gentlemen was a surprise to her and that she needed to talk to her father was something awfully suspicious. Though she could have expected the girl to come from a wealthy chinese background given her companion, training and refined taste she never have expected her to have any ties to the underworld. Then again the past was something that was haunting all of them - if anyone then she could understand it more than anybody.

They moved into position into the hideout Alec had chosen to them. It was ideal being a safe distance from the target house. Zoe just focused her mind and strained her eyes as she watched the events unfold.

" Is that... Xiao's father? " she murmured as they spotted the tall, charismatic man in the halls. She strained her eyes, to see but in the twilight she struggled to get every detail of the man, only his sudden movement - which turned out to be a slap in the face - was something that was clearly visible to her. She felt anger boiling in her stomach but she knew not the customs... there had to be a reason for him being this angry with her.

Meanwhile Eos strode confidently and silently with the main group as they entered the halls. He looked around and was very impressed by the scenery - whoever lived here had to be very rich and had to have a very distinct taste for such magnificent vases and tapestries. In the middle of the room he spotted the tall man, emanating respect and authority. He watched silently as the events transpired between him and Xiao and did not say a word - something told him that it was better not to interfere.

His curiosity peeked when Liang started to talk about the Rogues and stopping them. This made him believe that he was not in connection with them... then again it could be a well laid, elaborate trap so they had to tread carefully on this minefield. Hearing Luness' outburst he could not help but to agree with her - even if the words he would have used would have been more... refined.

" Though my ally's words are clouded with her emotions she is essentially correct. " the stag spoke " Were you to contact us normally such charades would have been unnecessary. We could have worked together easily without this assertion of dominance. We are no senseless - not like the Rogues. "

Just as he spoke he saw to guards appearing something limping in their hands.

Zoe's eyes widened in surprise.

" I think I found Kitsune. " she spoke, reacting to Totus' observations. It appeared that the fox was indeed captured and was now brought in front of the menacing lord she assumed to be the leader. She was aching to act but somehow she felt that striking at their foes now would be rather unwise. Instead, she watched carefully.

" We should devise a plan to- " she was cut short when she saw the shadows stirring behind the area where Lord Liang stood. A slender, charismatic figure emerged from the shadows with features she seemed to recognize from somewhere... Those burning, emerald eyes... that long hair... that confident expression...

Zoe turned pale in fear, almost as if she had seen a ghost. Her hands started shaking as she inspected the newcomer and the situation.

" No... that is not possible... " was all she managed to say.

Lady N. strode confidently in the halls, her aim being to join the probably very 'cheerful' bunch during the negotiations. Two of her bodyguards shadowed her closely, walking behind her like towering hulks, ready to destroy everything in their paths. On her shoulder sat Umbra, the falcon digging his razor sharp talons gently into his mistress' shoulders. He was ready and excited to meet his brief opponents once again.

Stepping out from the shadows the dark lady smiled at everyone.

" Oh, it appears that I made it just in time for the fun part. " she said, looking at Liang and at the others " Mind if I observe? "

Umbra glanced around, searching for that particular animal who brought him much trouble - but initially he could not see him. He did recognize everyone, however, and he was certain that everyone recognized him as well. He was about to spread his wings to take flight when he noticed some bodyguards moving in - with the fox in tow. Laughing hard he gloated.

" Well, would you look at that, the audacious runt has found his match. " he smiled " The hunter becomes the hunted... "

" Now, now don't be rude, dear Umbra. " Lady N. smiled " The fox was probably just a spy, sent by his companion. " she turned to Liang with fake worry on her expression " So much about these fellow Watchmen being trustworthy... the moment they agree to meet you is the moment when they want to back stab you. Clearly they wish not to see their beloved friends again. "

She smiled, hiding her malevolent intent behind her well crafted mask.

@everyone in the house

BB was too confused by this lady. How was someone suppose to feel comfortable after being captured? Although she got herself into this mess, she understood Leandra and Laohu's predicament. Getting comfy after all of this is pretty much giving up. The lady probably knew that though and took extra measures to keep them locked here in this room. She scanned Leandra and Laohu seeing that Laohu was looking at a small hole! She had half a mind to just zip out there. It wouldn't be too hard to just leave for her it seemed. When she was watching Leandra, she let out a few audacious giggles. This one was pretty sassy and boy does BB love the sass. It was pretty obvious they weren't going to back down so easily.

She got confused when the lady stopped mid sentence. She looked at her curious before she heard the large flapping of wings. She watched as the large bird of prey entered the room. Her little heart was beating crazy and if her eyes could go wider then they would. She turned her body with Umbra as to not get caught off guard, yet, she could feel her wings tensing up. As he finished the rounds around the room, BB found herself going back down to underneath Laohu. Deeper and deeper till she felt that going any further would just put her back in the open. With his introduction, BB had nothing to say. She just wrapped herself onto the leg of her friend and let the fear take place. She could make a dash for the hole! Get out and away from the terrifying presence she was subjected too. Just the mention of being eaten, and the fact he wouldn't mind, made BB dizzy. This wen't from a casual get your friends out of a kidnapping to am I going to die so easily here? No, her friends would definitely not let that happen right? It was just too much to for her. She didn't even hear the finger snapping and the guards coming out.

Before she knew it, she was falling asleep to the sight of the large bird. Still fear stricken. Once she finally passed out was when her body could reset. Let her heart work normally and her body relax from it's stiffened state. Her little body even started to snore fairly loudly. Wherever they were taken them this time, BB definitely didn't know. All she did was follow them back frrm the hotel before falling asleep. Now, now she really was kidnapped.. or food. If it was the later, at least she was asleep.

Barry stood there before feeling a sudden rush of foreign feelings. His heart pounded, his hands started to sweat. Even his breathing was going crazy like he couldn't get enough air. He stopped moving forward and placed a hand on his face. He took a few steps back with that resembled slight stumbling. Just as fast as it started it started to fade away. He looked up and around the room trying to figure out what just happened. BB? He thought to himself in disbelief. There was something wrong now. He turned to the others while, Xiao's father was also turned away form them. He shook his head in an attempt to tell them it was a bad idea to negotiate. It would always end up bad for one reason or another. He just hopped they didn't take it as not wanting to help them. It was for everyone's safety. He grew a curious look as he turned to see the woman walk in. She was.. way too confident for this setting. The air was tense and she just passed like it was a relaxing day at the beach. He didn't like the new comer one bit.

Leandra raised an eyebrow at BB, as the little hummingbird began speaking of being an actress and famous or something. Leandra didn't care much for the topic and quickly tuned it out. Was the lady planning on doing anything or just continue standing there and making idle chatter?

Sighing, Leandra mindlessly began poking about at the various foods on the tray, wishing that she could, at least, call Luness on a phone or something so that the phoenix wouldn't worry for her. Leandra knew that being separated in this fashion was most likely doing nothing to keep her companion calm, which wouldn't bode well for the team.

Listening to the lady speak up again, Leandra looked at her with a bored expression, which quickly became one of mild surprise, as Umbra made his appearance. Watching him flying around the room quickly made her feel dizzy so Leandra stopped watching him and waited for him to land on his companion's shoulder.

At the mention of eating BB, Leandra's eyes widened in a flash of anger, as she said in a low tone, "Nobody's eating anyone here. Not while I'm here."

At the mention of urgent news, Leandra raised an eyebrow, but used the moment of distraction to move in front of Laohu and BB, who was now hiding under him. Leandra wasn't about to let some stupid falcon have his way and eat one of her teammates' companions.

Yet, seeing the lady's grin instantly made Leandra feel uneasy, more so when the four guards made their appearance. It now looked like things were certainly about to become interesting. Though, Leandra didn't notice anything abnormal about the guards beyond the fact that they seemed quick to obey the lady. As far as Leandra was concerned, the lady still worked for whoever was in charge around here.

At the mention of meeting with their allies, Leandra instantly became suspicious and frowned at the lady.

As it were, Leandra never even had the chance to say anything, as the moment the lady finished speaking after a moment's hesitation, the guards were at her side in a flash and Leandra let out a surprised scream before she felt herself drifting away.

Inside the hall, Luness suddenly froze after her flash of anger, as she felt a rush of fear run through her before it faded away a moment later. Leandra!

Narrowing her eyes at Xiao's father, Luness then said indignantly, "What did you just do to my companion!? My Leandra! Where is she!?"

The guard unceremoniously hurled Kitsune onto the carpet between the team and Xiao's father where he roughly tumbled into a heap of red fur. "Found this thing slinking around in the garden," he reported. "Says his companion is here, so we thought to bring him to you. Thought you might find him ... entertaining." The last word was said with an all-too-knowing sneer.

Kitsune looked around at his new surroundings. The team stood off against the taller, more pristine figure of Xiao's father. To the side, a woman with her own retinue waited and on her shoulder perched the falcon that had assaulted them in the hotel courtyard.

"Such courageous talk when you have your friends to protect you," Kitsune mocked Umbra as he trained his one, good eye on the falcon. "I said you tasted like chicken and it would seem that I was right." The fox rolled to his feet, labored to rise and then stood as he favored his injured leg. Fresh blood from the lacerations matted his snow-soaked pelt and made a defiant stain on the oriental carpet. He looked like a large, wet and bloodied rat. "I could still take you, Umbra, even in this condition. How about it? Just you and me?"

Raven stepped forward. "Oh, you stupid, stupid fox," she said in a derisive tone. "We're trying to deal with something serious here, and you go and do this? Could you be any more useless to me? Honestly, if it weren't for our bond I would let you and the falcon have at it, but I wouldn't want your petty actions to insult our honorable host."

Inside, though, Raven pitied her companion while at the same time admired his spirit. There was no way that Kitsune could defeat Umbra in his condition, but he was ready to make the attempt just to prove himself to her. She admitted that the fox had some nerve, that was for certain, and she sent a tendril of concern to him through their link.

She looked at Liang and dropped her hands to her sides in psuedo-supplication. "Please forgive me," Raven said. "It would seem that I don't have the level of control over my companion that I should. If you will allow, I will take him and see that this insult to your hospitality is properly addressed."

Amber entered the room in front of the others, arms at her sides and expression unreadable. She took in the room with a look that lasted all of three seconds, memorizing the useful details. Silently, she listened to the exchange between Xiao and the intimidating figure at the end of the room, flipping the com link to high sensitivity so the dialogue was broadcast to the others outside of the house.

It was a lot to take in. Amber stood motionless, her steely gaze fixed on Xiao's father. Her eyes narrowed when he struck her and her hand instantly went out as Jimbo's did to stop just in front of Simon's chest. Almost a reflex, as she knew exactly how he would react. She tried not to react herself, but she wouldn't forget that.

"I heard something? What was that?" Alec asked over the com. In the background she could hear Calista too.

"Shut it DesRois."

Amber returned Simon's questioning look with her own that said: 'we need to play this right' Then she whispered so subtly her lips barely moved:

"Tell Alec and Zoe to get into position".

Duik had to bite his lip to keep from growling when Xiao was hit. Instead he put a protective paw about the little creature, who was wise enough not to make a sound.

"Oh this guy is so not on my favorite person list."

Amber stepped forward, her eyes never leaving the proud king-like man. Luness' outburst made her shift her gaze only for an instant. It told her enough. Their friends were in the building.

"Let's cut the crap." Amber said loudly. "Don't pretend you know everything about the Watch, because kidnapping our agents and making empty threats is the last way to start negotiations with an internationally-effective intelligence agency." Her voice echoed through the hall, loud and resolute but hinting at airs that offered respect. She knew that if she made one wrong move she would likely sign all of their death warrants right there, but bows and acquiescences would just give her opponent more power, and likely anger some of her team into rash action. She couldn't afford that, so she kept with the bluff.

A woman walked in, her posture and expression boasting an overconfidence that instantly rubbed Amber the wrong way. To top it off Kitsune was carried in too, obviously caught snooping around. Amber glared at the fox and then at Raven as she made an excuse for him. There would have to be repercussions later. She did her best to ignore the pair after that, hoping that the action would encourage Xiao's father to consider the matter equally as unimportant, and let it go.

"So, now that we're on a level field," her attention seemed to have never left Xiao's father, "I have a feeling what you want if worth more than two trainees, and in the end, negotiations of this type aren't my call. HQ could just decide to abandon us if your terms are too high..." her tone changed then, becoming dark and dangerous. "In which case, I will make damn sure that we take this entire room down with us." She made no move for any weapon, but stood tall and confident. Hopefully he would read this as a sign that she had more cards up her sleeve than he would originally have thought. This was partially true. Alec and Zoe were still out there, for all she knew they already had a good eye on the situation.

"Return my agents now, and we can talk terms."

@crucialstar @DawnAntalios @Kharmin @zCrookedz @Bolts @Flutterby @Lioness075

Alec wasn't in a position to see what was happening in the hall immediately. He did hear the sound of someone being hit however and he took a guess who it was. Calista told him to be quiet and he gritted his teeth. This all had to do with Xiao but he hadn't heard exactly what. The whole scenario confused him, but it did not stop him from following orders. He snuck up beside Zoe and prepped his rifle.

"I dunno exactly what we need to do but lets make sure we have a clear shot at the big wig." He said quietly.

It was then Totus brought news of Kitsune.

Alec groaned, "What? Are you kidding me?" The fox was gone? "So much for professionals," he grumbled, clicking the last piece of the gun into place.

"We can't help him now. Amber and the others will have to get him out of it. Totus, keep an eye out for grounds patrols. We can't afford to get caught."

Even as he said this he positioned the gun carefully, taking aim through the window and leveling it at the man in the regal attire.

Zhuge Liang turned his attention fully onto the Phoenix whose anger seemed to be seeping through as her being. He watched the flare she had and noticed most of the group had stepped to the side. Xiao Hui, on the other hand, stood in her spot, staring blankly ahead as she allowed numbing feeling of the slap to cross her cheeks. Her eyes never watered and her posture never wavered, however, feeling the pain in her abdomen once more, Xiao Hui knew she needed to abstain from making a squeak. Her Father hadn't noticed her injuries but had noticed her "inappropriate" attire. His distaste in the Watch was evident, but even then, she didn't know what her own Father was thinking. She never had, but, she could say the same about her Father. He didn't know her as well, they never spoke unless on certain occasions. However, hearing the backlash and accusations from the Phoenix made Zhuge Liang's anger raise even more. "You should be quite lucky, Phoenix," he spat, "that you're a creature I'd never wish to harm. However, this. . . companion that's making you all riled up, who is she?" He asked her, raising a slight brow, as he glanced at the man who's shoulder she had been perche. Was he not her companion? Zhuge Liang thought before he responded once more. "Your companion? Is he not the one , on who's shoulder you're perched upon?" He chuckled shallowly, before narrowing his eyes at the Phoenix, his face darkening, "If not, then I don't have her."

At the slight of this mention, Xiao Hui was alarmed. If her Father didn't have her, who did? And even if her Father was lying, for what purpose would he have to take Leandra? He'd only need Laohu for them to come, regardless. Xiao Hui looked at her Father, gazing at his posture, recognizing that it was one of. . . confusion, but to others, he remained standing, like a King who demands respect as a slight scorn carried about his face. Why? What did her Father do? However, in a state of surprise, Xiao Hui gasped, hissing slightly as she felt something sticky and wet on her face, though nothing was there. For a split second, she felt as if she couldn't breathe as her body lose it's balance, as she swayed to the side, only for the surprise to end as quick as it came. Laohu! Is that why Luness had rashly spoke out-loud? Hiding her hand behind her back, Xiao Hui clenched her fist as she regained her composure, only for her Father to glance at her briefly, noting the discomfort on his daughter's face before his attention went back on the other Watch Agents, especially to the white stag that spoke up. Xiao Hui, what just happened? He thought to himself briefly as his face hardened. "A white stag is in our midst as well? How intriguing, these pair of companions." He mused out-loud before glaring down before the stag who spoke. "You speak nobly, though your 'charming' words can only get you so far, Stag. Work together? It seems you truly have no idea where you are and how things work around here." Zhuge Liang said before he took a book and slammed it on the desk. "There's no such things as teammates!" He roared out loud, looking down upon them like insects.

Xiao Hui heard footsteps approaching as she stood to the side, standing against the column inside the room. Looking over at the guards, Xiao Hui furrowed her brows as she recognized the pelt that they held in their grasp. Her eyes glanced towards Duirk and Kit briefly before at the fox that had been revealed to her father. Turmoil coursed through her mind as she mentally scolded the ones who spoke rashly and the fox who had been caught. On the other hand, Xiao Hui's father was going to continue berating the stag and the phoenix, only to find a sickening grin appear on his face as the guards brought in a companion of another. But then, another appearance had arrived at the scene. Zhuge Liang heard the woman's voice, the voice that he had long been putting up with for the time being. Nodding slightly, Zhuge Liang spoke directly towards her, "Don't come and walk in freely as you think, N. Or it's your head that will be plastered on the walls and not the mask of a lion." He scowled at her before he looked down upon the fox and his "partner". Hearing her laced sweet voice that hide it's malcontent, Zhuge Liang stared blankly ahead, eyeing his daughter briefly, as she too, held no emotions or expression in her eyes. However, at hearing the woman speaking up without him directing her, acting as if she ran the place, Zhuge Liang nodded his head as a sword sheathed behind her, against her neck. "I allowed you to observe. I don't remember asking you for your opinion or judgement. Don't forget who you are and your status here. You're nothing." Zhuge Liang's spiteful voice echoed and boomed throughout the room loudly as he command the guard to take her to the opposite of the wall, keeping a close eye on the woman.

At the sight of the Phoenix raging once more, his suspicions were confirmed, when a guard had came to his side, whispering into his ears. With a hand raised in the air to stop the guard from speaking, he shooed him away as the guard bowed his head. With an outrage tone, he looked at the Phoenix in pity, before he signaled the guards once more to surround the whole room as all of their swords were sheathed before them, including the woman and Xiao Hui. "You dare run your mouths as if this is some kind of barn? Did I ask for you to speak? One more person who speaks out of turn, I'm afraid, I won't be able to be patient any longer. You've over-welcomed your chances." Bringing his attention back to the fox, he listened to the conversation between the two companions along with the interaction of Umbra and the fox. "Clamp your bird's mouth tight, N. Or an arrow will be pierced through him." Zhuge Liang coldly said before he nodded towards one of the guards, "For that, I'm afraid you're going to lose another companion. Kill it." He commanded the guard to approach the fox, however, seeing his companions bow and plead , Zhuge Liang laughed shallowly. As the guard was about to bring down the sword, Zhuge Liang commanded "Stop." The sword swiftly returned back to the guard's side as he went to station himself, surrounding the whole group. Xiao Hui took a step, seeing that things were about to get out of hands if no one calmed down her Father's anger. Looking over at Raven, she watched as the woman pleaded for her to take Kitsune back and address his action. "A woman who shows responsibilities for their teammates action and knows when to speak. Seeing your posture and attire, I can fairly estimate you to be a military woman. No, an ex-military. Better train your fox well, little Miss, or you'll be in grave danger." He stated as he caressed his beard slightly as he thought about her suggestion. "Release the fox and allow it to go with the woman. However, you are not allowed to leave this room. The deal isn't done yet. However, you don't have much of a choice. See, you either take the deal, or be killed." He stated plainly to them.

Xiao Hui narrowed her eyes as she saw the scene that took place before her. In the position she was in right now, she was powerless, now that she was on the other side of the coin. However, staring at the woman across from her, she wondered if she was in cahoots with her Father. Did they bargain with each other? Or do both of them have something up their sleeves? Her father wasn't one to work together with someone . . . especially a woman whom she had never seen before that wore a mask. Covering up one's face during a meeting meant they had something to hide. So, what was it? Xiao Hui could estimate the woman had backbone, seeing how she presented herself. She was just as dangerous and a flight risk to them. What was her Father thinking joining up with someone who can easily back-stab him? Or did he know that? What was it? Why was she needed? And why the threats and kidnapping? Could the woman have taken Leandra but not her Father? If that's so . . isn't that. . . . double crossing? But the questions remains, why are they working together and why were they all gathered here. Something's wrong and there's more to it than her Father.

Soon, Amber had approached, clearly having an air of authority as her loud voice boomed the area. Zhuge Liang expected nothing less, especially now that they were talking. Looking over at N, he had scorned her for her behavior and her ambition. But, even so, if she hadn't done her business correctly, even more reason to dispose of her. Zhuge Liang looked at Amber, hearing exactly what she meant by her underlying tones. Hearing her empty threats, Zhuge Liang let out a shallow chuckle, clapping his hands sarcastically, "I didn't expect anything less from you, Agent. However. I don't think you're in a position to negotiate to such terms. Especially, if one of your own had already been caught. But, knowing your Organization, Agent, they'd want to stake the risk. Especially, if it's to take down something you have been wanting to do for so long. Without my intel, you'll just be chasing shallow and empty trails." He stated before he made another deal, "But, I will allow you to see that they are unharmed and in fact , not injured, right, N? Will you show them the live feed and allow them to speak?" Zhuge Liang told Agent Amber before looking over towards Lady N questioning her, still having his guards surrounding the room, though their swords went back to their side, allowing the proper respect of the deal to go on.

Xiao Hui looked between her Father and "N" as he called her, seeing the questionable gaze in his eyes, though to others, it was expressionless. "Them"? But didn't her Father just say he didn't have. . .? Listening through the comms, she had heard Calista and Alec's voice. However, she hoped they were hidden safely and wouldn't be caught by the others guards from outside. It was true, their house was guarded like Fort Knox, or even more so than there. Her Father knew something and whether N knew it or not, the woman had to be careful with her next words, seeing she was walking on thin glass already from her pompous attitude and approach in the room.

Kitsune cringed and shied away from the approaching guard. His bluff with Umbra had now been called, although not in the way he had expected. Every ounce of him screamed to turn and run from the swordsman, but he simply hadn't the strength left to do so.

When the blow never came, Kitsune perked up at Raven's eloquent attempt to gain his release. His eye stared in surprise for he had never known Raven to speak in such a way to ... well, anyone. It was yet another facet of her that had been revealed and Kitsune wondered just how deeply he would ever come to know his companion.

For her part, Raven called upon her experience in dealing with the desert monarchs. To her it didn't matter: all people in positions of power like the one before them now expected – no, demanded – complete and total respect and compliance. She had played her hand well enough so far to at least accept a draw in the exchange which, to Raven, was really a victory as she considered their present situation.

Raven nodded her head in deference to their host while inside she seethed at Kitsune's action. It was foolish and unwarranted and although she might have been pained at losing him to the sword, she half admitted that Kitsune should have gotten what he deserved.

At mention of her military background, Raven again nodded with respect. "You are perceptive as you are estimable," she said, then stepped back amid the group. "I apologize, again. My companion and I have interrupted you enough. It will not happen again."

At her last remark, Raven shot a deathly stare at Kitsune. The fox's ears drooped at the unspoken onslaught. He looked back at Umbra on his shoulder-perch. "Another time, perhaps," he muttered.

"Kitsune," Raven commanded. "Silence and attend me." With a strong motion, Raven pointed her finger at the ground next to her heel and returned her attention to Liang as she expected her order to be carried out. She wagered on showing their host both respect and strength in the hope that it might off-set the more rash words and actions of the others in the group.

Dutifully, reluctantly, Kitsune limped over to Raven and collapsed on the floor where she indicated. He started to speak – he had the perfect quote prepared – but his companion's expression garnered no relief from her earlier ire. Instead, Kitsune sighed.
