Fantasy Code FERAL

Falarion's eyes bugged out when Gigi wrapped her paws around his neck and held tightly onto him. When he'd told her to hold onto something, he hadn't expected her to hold onto him.

@SilverFlight

Nodding at Alec upon hearing him thank her, Leandra was about to respond when Alec continued to mention his wound and clearly tried to make it appear as if it wasn't that big of a deal. Yeah, nice try, Alec. Leandra didn't have a medical degree without being able to know when someone's injury was bad enough to cause them pain.

"Alec, I'm not blind. I know-"

Leandra's eyes widened, as she heard the tires scrabbling for a grip on the gravel road that they had slid onto. This wasn't good at all.

Before she could try and grab a hold of Alec, he slipped away from her and Leandra could only scream, "Alec!" as she saw him fly out of the limo's roof.

As the limo careened off the road, Leandra struggled to keep a grip on her seat, but quickly let go when she saw Luness' light wink out and the phoenix tumbling right at her, wings flailing about around her.

Catching Luness in her arms and then quickly hugging her to keep her safe, Leandra soon rolled off of her seat and got to experience the joy of being thrown around in shards of glass...which really wasn't fun at all.

When the limo finally came to a halt, Leandra could only let out a groan, which everyone else was probably echoing.

@SilverFlight

Seeing Beth use his borrowed dagger to stab the seat, Manjano raised an eyebrow at her, but didn't have long to do anything else, as the limo began to dangerously swerve about.

Hearing the rubber struggling to gain momentum, Manjano's eyes widened, as he felt an inevitable crash coming soon.

Gripping his seat extra hard, Manjano tensed his body, as he heard Leandra shout Alec's name nearby before the limo finally slid to a halt.

Letting out a breath once Calista began speaking and seemingly broke the ice of the current situation, Manjano then worriedly looked sideways at Beth, hoping that she'd been able to hold on and was still safe minus the cut she'd gotten on her forearm.

@Flutterby

Carefully standing up from the floor, Leandra continued to hug the terrified Luness close to her chest.

Hearing Duik call out for a roll call, Leandra looked over at him, a few cuts scattered about her face and arms, a small shard sticking out of the back of one of her palms despite her having not noticed yet.

"Luness and I are okay!"

@SilverFlight

By the time Gigi registered that she may be holding on too tightly to Falarion, his face had gained a slight tint of blue and his eyes were practically bugging out of his face. Well, not literally, but still.

When Gigi let go, Falarion suddenly inhaled deeply before coughing a few times and responding, "N-no, it's okay. I've dealt with worse before."

As the color returned to his face, Falarion blinked in surprise at Gigi's bravery comment. It was rather unusual for him to get many compliments. Those seemed to often be a rarity to hear from Manjano these days.

@SilverFlight

Hearing Gigi saying some French before translating her question, Leandra raised an eyebrow amusingly before responding, "Well, Luness and I are still breathing so there's that."

Suddenly hearing Alec asking if everyone was okay, Leandra stumbled to the door he was peering in and then brushed past him so she could get a breath of fresh air.

This decision was instantly regrettable, as Leandra quickly learned just how many cuts she had gotten from the glass inside the limo, as a small breeze rolled over her.

Gritting her teeth, Leandra looked down at Luness and her eyes widened when she saw the shard sticking out from the back of her right hand. When did that get there?

Shifting her gaze to Luness, who was now looking about warily after getting a fresh breath of air, Leandra then said, "Hey, Lune, can you climb onto my shoulder?"

Nodding, Luness silently climbed onto Leandra's left shoulder while Leandra knelt down in the grass nearby.

Inhaling deeply, Leandra gripped the shard and then quickly yanked it out before she could convince herself not to. Letting out a pained and surprised yelp, Leandra then bit her lip, as she quickly pulled off her backpack and began taking care of the wound on her hand before tightly wrapping it.

By the time Leandra was done, she looked back over at the limo and frowned at the sight of her bandaging on Alec now missing. What in the world happened when he flew out of the limo?

Despite feeling exhausted, Leandra shakily got back to her feet while Luness flew to the nearest tree to regain her wits and to also keep a lookout in case anyone else tried to ambush the team.

As blood began staining the bandage on her hand, Leandra shambled up to Alec and then warily asked, "Hey, Alec, want me to stitch up your gunshot wound?"

It wasn't until she was waiting for Alec's reply that Leandra finally registered his disheveled hair, plus the twigs and leaves in it, as well as his torn and ruined shirt.

As Leandra blushed slightly, she wondered if she should offer a spare shirt to him and quickly added, "Um, I have a spare shirt in my backpack if you want to use it for now."

Jimbo tried throwing the brakes on the limo before they hit the construction, but the roads loose gravel had already done its job. As the car went spinning out of control after the tire blew, Jimbo tried to correct the movement only to simply give up and slam the breaks before colliding with a tree. Jimbo, wide eyed and breathing fairly heavily looked into the mirrors that hadn't been smashed or fallen off to see who was still moving. when he looked out his driver's mirror, he could see the black cars pulling up behind them and he growled.

"Simon, we've got company."

Simon was already stepping out of the limo as Jimbo did. The pair of them glared back at the cars behind them, but there was nothing he either of them could do. Simons weapon was hand to hand, and Jimbo had to leave his guns in his bag. Luckily, they it didn't seem there would be to much trouble from the crew following them. The sounds of the authorities scaring them off, all Simon could do was watch as their adversaries turned tail and ran.

Simon sighed with relief and ducked back inside at the sound of Duik asking who was still alive.

"Looks like we made it, they don't seem to want to deal with local authorities."

Hearing Calistas voice, Jimbo turned to find her reaching the door and checking her ear piece.

"You alright fuzz ball?"

@SilverFlight

Simon made his way over to the front of the car and sat on the hood groaning a bit as he began pulling at the finger holes and pulling his gloves off.

"I'm gonna need a drink after that bit of fun."

@anyone

"I second the drinks idea." Alec said, putting up a shaky hand. "Please lets never do that again."

Calista shook her head and tried to focus on Jimbo. "All right? Maybe about 75.25% right. My head is killing me." She sat down on the grass and surveyed the damage. "What about you Ham Hands? And Simon, still have your leg?"

@zCrookedz

When Leandra reached him he looked at the lose bandage now in his hand and thought he should try to explain.

"Um, the topiary tried to eat me." The he realized she might have been a bit more banged up. "Hey, don't worry about me. You look like you're ready to fall over." He blinked at the offer of a replacement garment and studied her slight frame. "I'm not sure we're the same size." He said with a half smile. He went to the limo and reached through the shattered window for his backpack which contained the trauma kit he always carried.

He used the alcohol to clean his hands (Which stung like hell for all the tiny cuts and scratches on them).

After this he took a few more supplies out.

"Leandra, take off your shirt." It took him more than a moment to figure out how that sounded. "The glass, you landed on it." He added quickly, his cheeks turning a rosy shade. "There might be shards left and I should get them out before you move too much and make it worse...you know what? I can work through the shirt. Sit down."

The adrenaline was staring to die and he wasn't sure if it was that, the shock or the fast approaching exhaustion that addled his thought process.

He decided the best thing to do was to shut his mouth.

He put on gloves and prepped the tools, thanking the heavens above for whoever had thought to line car windows with shatter glass. The fragments were designed not to break into anything smaller than a thumb tack and they were always squared, which meant they could never get that deep in the skin.

@Lioness075

Beth just closed her eyes and gritted her teeth, praying her grip would be strong enough. The limo swerved, jumped, jolted, and finally jerked to a stop. Beth's head was spinning horrendously and nausea settled in her stomach. Her hand closed around the dagger and pulled it free. Were the people coming after them? Were they going to have to fight more?

Apparently not, because everyone seemed to be getting into the recovery phase. She saw Manjano looked over at her, but she darted toward the limo door. Outside, she stumble several feet away from the car, ducking behind a shaped bush not unlike the one Alec had landed in moments before. And promptly puked her guts out.

Sour gummy worms were not as tasty the second time.

@Lioness075

Totus crouched, staying low to be more balanced. After far too many minutes of being tossed around like a sack of flour, the limo slammed to a stop and the situation came to an equally abrupt end. By the stars.. The owl thought to himself, shocked at what Beth had dragged him into. Cautiously, he detached himself from the seat and hopped to the middle of the limo. Everyone seemed alright, but Beth was no where in sight. "Beth?" He called, trying not to panic. "Beth, where are you?"

Beth rearranged her hair, glad to find it was still clean (ignoring the cubic glass stuck in it). She stood up, and took a few long strides back toward the limo. Nope. She sank to the ground, crouching and taking very slow, deep breaths. The world spun angrily around her. She lowered her head, putting her biceps on her knees and linking her hands behind her neck. The world began to slow down and right itself. The taste in her mouth was terrible. People were asking if everyone was alright. "Does anyone have any water?" She croaked, even though the chances of anyone hearing her were slim.

@everyone

Hearing Alec's initial explanation, Leandra couldn't help but choke on her laughter before quickly regathering herself and saying, "Well, I gotta say, Alec. I had no idea you were a vegan. Clearly, the plants are fighting for their rights."

Jokes aside, Leandra raised an eyebrow when Alec brushed aside his own injuries.

Being blunt as usual, Leandra stared at him and said, "Dude, you were shot and a bullet went through your shoulder. You can be a tough guy all you want, but just let me stitch it up on both ends before you stupidly give yourself an infection."

At the mention of them not being the same size, Leandra shrugged and said with a teasing grin, "I mean, if you want to wander around here showing yourself off to the ladies, then go right on ahead. On that note, I feel like I'm watching any teen girl's favorite TV show right now. Those male characters never understand the need to wear a T-shirt."

By the time Alec had returned and cleaned his hands, Leandra was about to protest again and say that Alec just shut up and let her help him already, but was cut short when she heard Alec's command.

Feeling a slight blush on her cheeks, Leandra couldn't help but laugh before saying with a grin, "Woah there, buddy. Dinner first. That's, like, dating 101 stuff right there."

Hearing Alec's stuttering and seeing him blushing now, Leandra laughed again before rolling her eyes and teasingly saying, "Boys."

Chuckling at Alec's final command, Leandra sat down beside him and then winked at him before carefully pulling off her shirt (she has a sports bra on, don't worry guys) and then dropping the tattered thing beside her.

It wasn't until Leandra looked back at her exposed abdomen and saw a couple small shards in her that she gulped. Well, so much for being a-okay over here.

On the bright side, the shards weren't that deep, minus the one that had gotten her in the hand (she has small hands so there really wasn't much there to protect anything). On the downside, there were faint blood trails just about everywhere on her. In fact, Leandra could swear she even felt some in her back...her back!

Eyes wide, Leandra froze in place, as she realized she'd exposed her back and now anyone could look at it and see the huge five-claw scar running diagonally across her whole back.

@SilverFlight

Seeing Beth collecting his dagger, Manjano let out a sigh of relief, as he assumed this meant she was okay.

He assumed wrong.

Confused by why Beth so hurriedly darted out of the limo, Manjano quickly followed after her, but gave her some space when he saw the nauseated expression on her face. Uh, ew.

Hearing the sounds of puking, Manjano blinked and then was about to turn away when Beth reappeared around the corner only to stumble to the ground.

Instantly concerned, Manjano hurried to her side just in time to hear her question.

Knowing she wasn't going to see him nodding at her, Manjano merely took his backpack off and then set it down near Beth. Rifling through it for a moment, Manjano soon produced a bottled water and offered it to Beth, making sure it was within her eyesight considering she was trying not to look up right now.

While waiting for her to respond or take the bottle, Manjano tilted his head to the side, as he realized Totus wasn't with Beth right now. Was the owl okay?

Uncertain, Manjano glanced back towards the limo, but couldn't see or hear the owl yet.

Simon looked up at the sound of Alec seconding his mention of drinks as he pushed himself off the hood of the car and made his way around to Jimbo and Calista. The Civet seemed to be dazed by the joy ride, infact most everyone stepping out of the car seemed to be more than a little dazed. Simon couldn't blame them, between the traffic, their pursuers and an american gorilla who had never driven in Paris before in his life; Simon had to admit that they had made it out of that predicament relatively unscathed.

Jimbo sat down next to Calista in the grass and watched as the group climbed out of the car. His heart was still beating a million miles a minute from the car ride and he needed to rest a minute after nearly had a heart attack driving through the Arch de Triumph's traffic.

"Yea I'm good. Try not to move around so much till the Doc can take a look at you."

Simon walked up to Calista and Jimbo and when Calista mentioned his leg he looked down at it. It was still in one piece, even more interesting is that Simon had walked around the car without the use of his crutches at all. It could have been from the adrenaline, infact it was more than likely the case. So Simon decided to take advantage of his freedom from his crutches and ducked back inside the front of the limo. He had never worked on a limo before, but when you get down to the nuts and bolts, cars are all built pretty much the same way. But when it came to the computers people put in them, Simon would have to leave that to someone more professional. The dash board seemed to be what you would expect, A/C controls, Audio controls, and a screen with a GPS. Simon pushed down on the plastic dashboard above the screen and slid a finger under the cover, and then pulled the framework off. With the screen and the wiring exposed, Simon reached into the side pocket of one of his cargo pockets and retrieved a small multi tool. With a few quick turns from the screwdriver piece, Simon had the navigation system free of the dashboard and climbed back out of the limo. He walked over toward Jimbo and Calista and set down in the grass, turning over the small box of circuit boards and wires before holding it out to Calista.

"Think there's any way that we can find out who was controlling the limo with this?"

Rin found himself tossed about the cabin of the limo. He dropped to the floor, and tried to get his hands onto something as the limo swerved. He hit the door and dropped back to the floor, "Haku!" He called for her mentally, not sure where she was. "I'm alright!!" She hissed back, he looked up in time to see here wrapped around a seat belt. He began to laugh when the limo hit gravel, he tried to dtop back down, but as Alec was thrown out, he was tossed up, hitting the roof of the limo painfully, then dropping back with a thud.he groaned, as everyone exited the limo, he decided the doors were crowded and instead he pulled himself up out of the moonroof. He sat on the roof of the limo and then just lay there. "Yes, drinks. Drinks sound very good right now" He said through labored breathing. He realized that as he was climbing up Haku had wrapped around 1 of his legs.she climbed her way up and onto his chest. He was sore, a few scratches, looking at his hand in front of his face he pulled a few small shards. "Everyone good? We are all alive, yes?" He asked optimistically. "Good, now when did big Bird join the party?" He asked, his head was throbbing and he wasn't necessarily thinking clearly. Or thinking before he spoke for that matter. Haku hissed at his rudeness "Our apologies, he seemsss to have hit his head. Perhaps the gas is still working it's way out of his system." She said offering an explanation, hoping that the offense wasn't too great.

The car was speeding through the streets with surprising speed, truly it was not designed for a chase like this. She tried to focus her thoughts but found it rather difficult - probably the speed and the intense fighting was taking its toll. She looked at Bael, the boy truly having a fight not only with the creatures around them but also within himself. She frowned, she too was once hesitant like that though fear never paralyzed her.

" Look Bael, no matter how dire the situation is you must never lose concentration. " she said, her words sounding like preaching more than anything. " I know how you feel but - "

The car shook violently and she felt that she was losing her grip on her seat. She would have slid to the other side of the car were it not for Bael's quick reflexes as he caught her. She looked up at the boy, Bael somehow showing some godlike strength when it was to protect her and she smiled. It appeared that the boy did not want to fight but when it came to helping allies he did not hesitate. Once they stabilized and he said sorry she shook her head.

" You saved me again. That is two already. I think I owe you an another one. " she said cheekily.

She laid back, trying to hold out until the situation stabilized. Hearing the boy talking she was confused at first: how on earth could he still focus on drinks in this dire situation? But then she realized what was going on, it had to be some kind of psychological trance, one that helped him endure these hardships and allowed him to focus. A rather clever tactic, Zoe admitted.

She was about to answer him when their speed increased, the roaring engine allowed them to fly through the streets with incredible speed. She could hold her position no longer, her shoulder now aching from her trying to hold it with all her might and with a painful hiss she let go - as the car raced across the street so did her body fly towards the side of the car.

" Bael! " she exclaimed, a slight fear in her eyes as she slid. She reached out for Bael but she could not grab his hand and she hit herself hard when the car actually crashed. She just closed her eyes and blackness claimed her.

Eos smiled at Wednesday happily. He was glad that the girl fought with strength and ferocity and he was happy to help her in any way he could. Standing his ground he stood as a bulwark in front of her, impaling any fiends that dared to assault her - but it seemed that the tide was turning. They started to push the animals back and eventually the shady creatures started to back away.

This, however, made Eos suspicious. They WERE winning but not by this much. He understood it immediately when the car started to speed up insanely, the old stag could barely stand his ground as they were racing through the streets. Immediately, as the vehicle started to get unstable, he rushed to Wednesday.

" Hurry, grab my fur! " he exclaimed " I will try to shelter you from the imminent threat! "

Surely enough not so long after the car crashed and Eos tumbled across the interior, defending Wednesday with his life. As he looked up during the aftermath he saw that their chasers were gone and that everyone seemed to be all right more or less. Letting the girl free from his clutches he raised and nodded to Simon's question.

" I am fine I think... sadly our vehicle can not say the same. "

He looked around, searching for his companion but Zoe did not answer. Searching for the girl he eventually found her - she was unconscious, probably something hit her hard - but she was all right. Helping her on his back he walked up to the team, his back still hurting from the pain. Looking at Zoe on his back he carefully placed her down on the ground, standing guard next to her, hopefully she would wake before they needed to press on.

@Sleipnir @Hel @zCrookedz @SilverFlight

Wednesday stayed with Eos, fighting and thankful for the stags protection. When the car began accelerating through the crash she didn't think, but instead reacted, and her reaction was to hug Eos tightly- although obviously not tightly enough to cause any damage.

"What just happened?" Wednesday asked, as Eos bounded away to check on Zoe. Wednesday was unharmed, but disoriented. She hadn't seen what was going on outside of the car, nor what caused them to crash. She heard all of the things going on around them and took a moment to see what was happening. It seemed everyone was being cared for- for the most part. Zoe had been knocked unconscious, though, and that was a major concern... though it was one that no one could do anything about for the time being.

She started to move towards Zoe, but saw Eos already bringing her back. Hearing Simon call out about drinks, and Alec agree. Wednesday was reminded of the comment Jimbo made only a few minutes prior, she decided to pipe up and converse for once.

"Drinks sound nice, you do owe me one, after all, Simon." She said, she didn't smile, but her voice sounded friendly enough.

@DawnAntalios @zCrookedz

Cerci had taken quite the tumble in the accident, and found herself thrown into poor Bael. After the crash settled, she quickly moved away from the boy, hoping she hadn't crushed him under her weight. Nosing him, she tried helping the boy up and said, "I am so sorry, Bael. Are you okay?" Cerci could feel that Wednesday was at the very least still alive, so she decided to focus on ensuring the one she'd crushed was okay before tending to her companion.

Velora pounded on the trailer from the inside,she rammed against it and began to let out shrill cries for help,she felt the trailer lurch to one side and then the other causing her to panic more,at this point she was scratching the interior and trying to dig her way out of the trailer,she knew she wasn't alone but she also didn't know if anyone could hear her calls of distress,"I am going to die in here...without even getting to see light!" she screeched one last time before leaning on the left side of the trailer.

Samantha tumbled out of the limo a few meters before she halted,she didn't appear to be hurt very much but her nose was bleeding quite a bit not that she noticed,she was dazed and only came about after hearing screeching and scratching noises "Oooogh does anyone have tissues..or a crowbar?" she asked no one in particular,her vision was blurred briefly before she came to her senses and panicked still hearin Velora screeching her lungs out "Velora...VELORA someone help me get her out the trailer I think she's stuck" she said looking around at the chaos as she got to her feet,she hobbled over to the trailer and knocked on it a few times,Velora perked up and knocked back on the door signifying she was still okay and proceeded to push against the door again before letting out an angry screech as she made no progress.

Beth blinked a few times when a bottle of water appeared in front of her face. She took it, and glanced at the face at the other end of the arm holding it. Damn it.. Of course it was Manjano. Why shouldnt she continue to embarrass herself in front of him?

She opened it and took a swig, rinsing her mouth and spitting before actually taking a drink. "Thanks." She muttered, resting her forehead on her hand with her elbow propped on her leg. Her stomach lurched, threatening to expel the water too, but a few deep breaths calmed it. Beth groaned softly. All she wanted to do was curl up under a blanket and take a nap. Maybe Totus would cuddle..

Totus. Where was Totus? Beth jerked her head up. Too fast, the world threatened to spin again. She whined, in the back of her throat, like an upset puppy, closing her eyes for a moment and opting for a mental contact instead. It was unfamiliar to her, but it seemed that she and Totus were going to start trying it. Her consciousness stabbed for his blindly, like someone searching for the light switch in a pitch black room.

@Lioness075

Totus flitted back and forth inside and then outside the limo. All the others were accounted for- Alec, Simon, Leandra, Rin, Zoe, Bael, Xiao Hui, Wednesday, the new girl, and all their companions seemed relatively okay. Falarion and Gigi were there too. That left his Beth.. and Manjano. The owl scowled, his feathers rising in anger. Why did she persist? His anger would have continued to grow, if a confused, clumsy consciousness bumped into his. Beth was trying to find him. He got a few snippets of sensation from her, mostly nausea, but also grass, and the smell of burnt rubber, the flash of an image. The other side of the limo, of course. Still a little put out, he took his time going over there. He hopped along the ground, looking along the outside of the limo as he made her wait for him. While he did, he heard a peculiar, rather repulsive, sound coming from the trailer. He flew to the top of the trailer, looking down at the girl he didnt know quite yet. She appeared to be struggling with opening the trailer. It had a few dents from bullets, but would open just fine when operated correctly.

"Try using the handle and undoing the latch." He said, spreading his wings halfway to balance as the creature inside banged against the trailer. "Best way to open a door is the way that was intended."

@ManyFaces

Beth frowned and opened her eyes slowly. She knew Totus had heard her. Usually he would be at her side in an instant. But he wasnt here. Was he angry with her? For what? She looked up at Manjano, and the cold weight of reality settled in her gut. Ignoring it, she stood slowly and looked at him evenly. Well, as even as she could when she felt so terrible. "You're a good person, Manjano. I hope you don't mind if I start thinking of you as a good friend." She offered an unsteady smile, and then held out the dagger to him. "And you should probably have this back. I dont have any way to sheath it. Now, let's go find our other halves." Beth started back toward the limo, taking her time as her body settled back into itself.

Rin rolled over and off of the limo. Dropping to his knees, Haku hissed as she slid swiftly around and up his body so as not to fall off. "You forgetting I'm here?" She asked slightly annoyed. She couldn't fault him he was still a little groggy from the gas. He shook his head clear and made his way to the trailer where the new girl was pounding at it. " hello, I'm Rin. And I'd be happy to help you, so long as your partner realizes I am not lunch. She seemed pretty hungry, and agitated during our little roller coaster of a ride..." He said with a slight smile as he looked at the handle. It seemed a bit bent out of shape from the dinosaur banging from the inside, and the rattling around on the road but not too horrible. With a bit of effort and a grunt he managed to undo the hanfle and stepped back. He didn't have a good look at the companion from inside the limo, now he took a step back. Slack jawed he stared in awe "It'sa gawzirraa!!!" He heard Haku shoutING in a heavy Japanese accent, and then started cracking up at her own little joke. Rin came to and just rolled his eyes slightly embarrassed. "Hush now" He hissed at her.

@ManyFaces

"Right the latch...i'm not thinking straight,thanks uhm...I don't think I caught your name mind telling me it?" she asked,as soon as Rin got the larch undone as Velora came out or rather she crawled out wearily.Velora's body was half way out of the trailer before she just fell out and flailed before righting herself "Never again" she said with a groan,her eyes had yet to focus but she could smell that everyone was still alive excluding any badgers "Are there any badgers left?" she said looking around,her body ached and she was hungry despite the accident which she didn't seem to care much about.

Samantha rubbed Velora around the muzzle and checked her for any bruises or cuts,the only thing she ended up finding was some badger fur caught in her teeth which she promptly pulled out
"Why would you eat a badger?!" she questioned looking at Velora who seemed to glare at her "Why do you eat carrots?" she responded rhetorically before turning her attention to Rin and Haku "Huh...where am I?" she asked them before going into a sitting position so she could pick the fur out of her teeth with her claws "Thank you" she said for Velora who didn't seem to possess such politeness.

Satisfied when Beth took the bottled water from him, Manjano stood near Beth, awkwardly hovering as usual.

Hearing Beth's thank you, Manjano merely shrugged, not exactly looking at her at the moment and merely assuming she saw him shrugging in response.

Looking around at the others recovering around them, Manjano stiffened when he saw Leandra and Alec together, both seemingly shirtless now, though he soon realized it was for medical reasons, as they both appeared rather injured from the fight and near-crash. Regardless, Manjano subconsciously clenched his fists at his sides, feeling suddenly protective of Leandra.

Yet, Manjano knew Leandra could handle herself now and she also had Luness to protect her. He had to let her deal with stuff on her own unless she asked for help. After all, the twins were able to 'feel' if the other were in extreme danger. It was the weirdest sixth sense kinda feeling, but they both had felt it for one another before so they knew it was for real.

Seeing a quick movement in his peripherals, Manjano quickly looked sideways at Beth in time to hear her puppy-like sound as well as see her close her eyes.

Frowning at this, Manjano instantly felt the urge to ask Beth what was wrong, but kept his mouth shut anyways.

Opting for silent conversation as usual, Manjano waited until Beth opened her eyes again, as he was uncertain if she was reaching out to Totus, who was still seemingly missing at the moment.

Seeing Beth slowly standing up on her own, Manjano took a step back to give her enough space to do so before wondering if she was going to say something.

Sure enough, Beth began speaking to him and Manjano was a bit surprised when she complimented him and then mentioned him being a good friend of hers now.

What really surprised him though was when she said he was a good person. He'd done so many terrible things in the past though...if Beth knew about all of it...would she still think of him as a good person?

Feeling suddenly weighed down by such thoughts, Manjano was about to turn away when Beth offered his dagger back to him.

Hearing the mention of a sheath, Manjano merely undid the sheath on his hip and then took Beth's other wrist and placed it in her hand before quickly letting go and then turned towards the limo and quickly walked ahead of Beth to distance himself from her.

Why did his thoughts always have to go awry in moments like these? How was he ever going to get past the mental barrier that held him back from holding any relationships with anyone?

Seeing that Falarion didn't appear to be outside at the moment, Manjano reentered the limo to find Falarion still in his seat with Gigi beside him.

Raising an eyebrow at this, Manjano was about to think something to Falarion when Falarion suddenly realized that Manjano was in the limo with him and Gigi.

Falarion's face instantly flushed, as he jumped to his paws and down from the seat before facing Manjano and stuttering, "H-hey, Manjano! I didn't see you there!"

After hushing Haku Rin smiled at the girl. "I am Rin, this is Haku. It is an honor to meet you." He said bowing, so abruptly he nearly dislodged the white snake from his shoulders. She hissed when he got back up, but he barely noticed, his head was spinning and he needed to sit, now. He thought to himself as he dropped down into a sitting position, resting back on his arms, his hands on the grass. He looked over to Velora "Remarkable companion. I can't believe it, a dinosaur!" He exclaimed with one eye open. He looked around, the rest of the group seemed to be out of the limo and on their own feet. "Everyone seems to be okay, well at least much better than the badgers. This is good, this is very good." He said nodding mostly to himself.

Samantha bowed back to him and wiped her nose the blood was sticky now,she let out a sigh and smiled "She's not that great...I mean you've got a sweet looking snake with you...does she bite I mean the snake i've usually seen were much smaller than her,oh and i'm sorry for having to meet at such a bad time heh" she smiled at them both and sat down and began stroking Velora who laid her head on Samanthas legs and closed one of her eyes,both of their breathing seemed to sync together and Velora mumbled "Not that great?,Ungreatful ape..." she proceeded to stare at Haku hungrily but shook her head reminding herself that this was an ally not a meal.Velora dug in the the dirt until she found a large rock which had a very angry looking centipede which started to scuttle away only for Velora to snap it up and eat it,the sounds were like someone eating potato chips,she looked under a few more rocks finding a centipede under one and some fat slugs all which she ate without a care before going to set her head back down on Samanthas lap,Samantha gagged as she watched a slug try to escape death "Why don't you eat things like burgers?" she said causing Velora to roll her eyes "Do you see any burgers?" she said narrowing her eyes.

Totus gave Rin a nod, happy to see him helping the girl. Once the dinosaur made its appearance, he made himself scarce. He didnt fancy becoming a snack for the predatory creature. The owl continued toward where Beth was, as Manjano began to walk away.

@andujarprime @ManyFaces

Beth watched Manjano's reaction to her words, and felt her heart fall. He seemed surprised at first, but then he seemed to completely shut down. Should she not say nice things to him? Did it really bother him that much that she liked his presence?

He took the empty sheath off and put it in her hand, and then walked away. Beth stopped to stare at his retreating back in confusion. He wouldnt accept that she wanted to be friends, but he was giving up one of his daggers to her. Not understanding why, she sheathed it and wore it on her left hip. The weight was odd, but not as odd as the mix of feelings Manjano had thrown her into. Disconcerted, she trailed behind him.

@Lioness075

Totus caught sight of Beth, standing of to the side of the limo. She had suddenly procured not only a bottle of water, but a knife that matched the one Manjano had. What was this? Some kind of secret-agent version of giving a girl one's varsity jacket? The owl landed in front of Beth, with an odd look in his eyes. "Totus! I was worried when you didnt come right away! Are you hurt?" Beth said, holding an arm out to him.

"Oh yes, Beth. Because my only function is to come when you call. Like a dog," He snapped, and Beth took a step back. "Maybe I should ask Manjano if Im hurt, you seem to think he has all the answers."

Hurt blanketed Beth's expression, smothering her excitement at seeing him. "Totus what-"

"Come on. We'll probably be moving soon." Totus didnt like her finish before he flew back toward the limo. Once again, she walked along behind, wondering what she had done wrong.

Xiao Hui jumped slightly as everyone ended up taking her commands and began to take action. Laohu growled, taking a protective stance around Xiao Hui as the whole commotion began to erupt quickly. Her eyes frantically moved back and forth, helping anyone and protecting herself and Laohu from the attacks of the shadowy creatures that were now known as badgers. Her ears heard screams and shouts from the rest as they were looking for their partners or screaming at each other to watch each other's back or to be careful. Xiao Hui took a small glance in Zoe's direction as she saw herself handling the creatures quite well with Bael. Nodding, Xiao Hui smiled slightly, "We will teach them not to mess with us, right?" She said determined as Laohu was getting antsy being in the limo. He resisted the urge to project his aggravation as a pounding enveloped his head. One after another, chaos ensued as the others began to attack as the limo was swerving left and right. Xiao Hui and Laohu remained on the sidelines, staying out of the way of others, only hitting any badgers close enough to them or their allies. "They're ugly little vermins." Laohu said, after he managed to bite one of the creatures and threw them to the opposite end of the limo. Hitting the badger with her fist, or anything she can get her hands on, she took a deep breathe, staying as calm as she can. "This is getting too claustrophobic in here, Hui." Laohu managed to take a breather, after fending off the badgers aiming towards him. Xiao Hui only let out a slight grunt as she was fumbling with one of the badgers, shaking them off of her as she glanced around when she had a chance and saw the figures or appearances of Wednesday and Cerci, Manjano and Beth, and the others fending for themselves. The scene was too hard for Xiao Hui to comprehend or focus on as she managed to stay in her spot, away from the rest as Laohu took down the Badgers and she paralyzed some of them.

However, soon, Xiao Hui's attention turned towards Alec, Simon, and Jimbo, as they all managed to work together to shake off the other cars chasing them as Laohu planyed himself in front of Hui, blocking any whip lash the limo was causing as Xiao Hui held onto the seats and Laohu's pelt, closing her eyes. Growling under his breathe, Laohu groaned,
"Stop spinning so much." He said as Xiao Hui remained quiet and held onto dear life before the limo came to a stop. Laohu was definitely, definitely, not a tiger to be messed with at the moment, seeing that his temper wasn't up to par and he had the sudden urge and need to go back and stomp on all the badgers that harmed him, Hui, and the rest of his teammates. However, the gorilla and his partner along with Alec was definitely not on his good side, despite the need to pull such a stunt to get the other trackers off their back. On the other hand, Xiao Hui's heart skipped a beat as she found a little trouble breathing, hearing police sirens in the distance. Ever since she was a small child, she was never fond of authorities such as cops or the police. Maybe it's because of her background or maybe it's because of an incident she rarely remembers. Laohu whipped his head quickly towards Xiao Hui, concerned, "Hui? Breathe." Blinking, Xiao Hui hadn't heard Laohu calling her, in fact, she was in a state of such stupor that the only person who got her out of her trance ended up being Alec who called out asking if everyone was okay. Feeling warmth on her hand, Xiao Hui looked down, as blood dripped from her arms and Laohu's pelt. She shook slightly, her eyes widening, "This isn't my blood." Xiao Hui slightly whispered as she looked on at Laohu. Had she killed the badgers? She only remembered whacking them awayf from her or paralyzing her, as for Laohu, he may have bit, clawed, and thrown them, but never killed. Laohu shook his mane, "Not mine, either. Perhaps the others?" Nodding, Xiao Hui realized she hadn't answered Alec and called out to him, "O-oh! Yes, I'm good, Alec!" She said as Laohu looked towards Duirk, Falarion, and Gigi. "We're fine over here."

Nevertheless, as Xiao Hui scanned her surroundings, she noticed Zoe, Leandra, and Alec being harmed the most. But, she was also concerned for Beth knowing that her head may have still been hurting or suffering some sort of aftermath from the mission previously. However, seeing Leandra and Alec's upper body being half naked and shown, she blushed slightly, feeling slightly self-conscious once more. However, Xiao Hui's eyes took notice of Leandra's huge five clawed scar down her back. She slightly winced, feeling her own scars on her back reacting to Leandra's. But, seeing the uncomfortable state she was in, Xiao Hui looked around for some sort of cloth and quickly walked over towards her and drapped it slightly and gently over Leandra's back, covering it. She knew it wasn't anything to be ashamed of, however, seeing Leandra's expression and how self-conscious she looked, Xiao Hui only felt that it was necessary to help her, from prying eyes or from having to explain herself. Xiao Hui wouldn't know how she would feel in Leandra's predicament, considering she also had a secret she didn't want to share, a huge one, which includes the tattoo and scars on her back. So, the only thing she could do was lend a helping hand to her comrade, or rather. . someone whom she could see calling a . . friend.
"We should get those shards out of your body soon, we wouldn't want to get it infected." She spoke softly towards her, giving her an understanding smile as she looked over at Alec. The bloodied wounds on his body made her quiver slightly as she shook her head, "Alec, you need to rest or you'll faint. Now. Actually, the both of you should get cleaned up quickly. I can help as well." She said, not wanting to leave any room for arguments as she looked at him worriedly and then sent a reassuring smile towards Leandra. Laohu, on the other hand, sat next to Leandra, slightly nuzzling her legs and then looking back up and at everyone else. "Now that that's done. . where are we going now?" Laohu asked before Xiao Hui's attention was brought away from Leandra and Alec for a second. She hummed softly, as she decided to sit down next to Leandra and by Laohu, giving Alec is own space, but close enough to where if he fell over, she could help him along with Leandra.

The dark vistas of emptiness spun around the head of Zoe as she lingered in the twilight realm. She felt nothing save for the peace and somehow she did not even want to leave just yet - but deep down in her heart she knew that she had work to do, that she still needed to go ahead and fight for the good of everyone so she concentrated and tarried no longer. Soon enough she had found that small, sparkling light she was looking for and with a brave jump she escaped the swirling abyss.

Her eyes fluttered open as she felt the pain returning in her head. Her vision was a bit clouded but she was still able to see everything - yet what she had seen was not necessarily she expected to. Sitting up, grabbing her head to numb the pain she looked around, spotting Eos nearby.

" W-where are we? " she asked " And why are all these people celebrating? "

Eos raised his eyebrow.

" What are you talking about? " he asked carefully " They are recuperating, nobody is having a particularly good time. "

" But - but the music! " she now forced her hands on her ears " It is too... too loud! Tell them to stop, please, my head is about to explode in pain! "

The stag now was truly confused and worried - but then Zoe stood up and looked around. She noticed Xiao and with her eyes turning beady and happy she dashed towards her. Without a warning she jumped onto her, hugging her tightly.

" Oh, Natalie! My dearest sister! " she said while she snuggled " I thought I lost you! I thought you died! " she looked at her with a hopeful look " Please help me! This noise... it is... "

Suddenly her eyes cleared up, the music stopped and the vision of Natalie was gone. True horror and panic filled the girl when she realized that she was hugging Xiao and quickly let go. She looked at her hands, terrified and then she glanced back up at her, taking few steps away.

" I am sorry... so sorry... " she said while tried to back away from the awkward situation. As she stumbled backwards she happened to collide with Wednesday. She turned around, sheer panic in her eyes, one which she tried to conceal immediately.

" Beg your pardon, I should watch my step. " she said, trying to act like everything was fine. Looking at her she tried to smile for once " I saw how valiantly you have fought in the limo, you are a born warrior! I... "

She felt a dizzying blow in her head as she almost lost balance. Trying to fake it as stretching she decided to sit down to make sure she would not fall.

" Sorry about that, I am still a bit tired. " she looked around, searching for someone " Have you seen Bael? I need to thank him for his intervention. "

"Vegetarian, but yeah. I'm just glad plants can't come after me." He smiled at her sense of humour. It was a refreshing change to the smoking wreck they had just crawled out of. He gave a glance at his bloody shoulder. "Its really not that bad, just a flesh wound, looks worse than it is." One her next comment though he suddenly felt self-conscious. There was a good portion of his skin showing and though it was now darkened with grime he couldn't help but be proud of the light toning on his chest and stomach.

"Just don't expect me to turn into a werewolf." He countered with his own grin.

When he saw the scars on her back he drew in a breathe. "Jesus Leandra, what did that to you?"

He set to work as he waited for her answer, removing the glass shards with the forceps he had brought and stopping the wound quickly with an alcohol doused swab.

He had also noticed Xiao emerging from the ruined car and giving a nervous glance in the direction of the sirens.

"I guess we all have our own scars huh?" He said as he worked. "Xiao, I think I could use a hand here."

At length the last of the shards was removed and Alec had patched the cut expertly. He handed Leandra back her shirt as the police rolled to a halt, several of the cars sped past however in pursuit of the black cars. Two men got out of one car and came over, the casual pace they moved at told him that the Watch had already made a phone call.

@Lioness075 @crucialstar

"We've radioed for backup." One of them said in French. Gigi stepped forward and answered in kind. "Thank you very much, your arrival chased off those thugs that attacked us. If you please, I think we are very much needing transport back to my home." Then she tuned back to the group and said in English:

"Provided there is no one here who needs ze 'ospital?"

The injuries looked mild all around and eventually it was decided that the town house was the best option. Alec finally allowed Leandra to stitch up his shoulder, thanking her gratefully when it was done. He hated hospitals.

@everyone

Calista nearly leapt onto the box, her eyes wide. She turned it over and bared her teeth in a manic smile. "I...I think I can!" The look she gave Simon was illuminated with hope. "I think we can find her!"

@zCrookedz

Duik had stumbled over to where the trailer sat and his eyes widened at the sight of the dinosaur.

"Holy cow!" He trotted over to Samantha and Velora, turning his head this way and that to examine them. "Dude, you are literally the coolest thing I've ever seen. You even beat crazy terrorist badgers!"

@ManyFaces

When transport had been arranged the team was taken straight to Gigi's elaborate townhouse, right in the middle of town with a good view of the central square, where the town hall stood proudly with its white columns and elegant flags.

The town house was more like a mansion, Alec decided. It was planted deeply in lush grounds and surrounded by ornate, wrought iron fencing. The limo rolled through the gilded gates and came to a white gravel circular drive which lead under an awning supported by roman-styled columns. The large double doors were also white and carved intricately with looping foliage and flowers.

When they came in Alec immediately felt like he was too dirty for the place. The hallway floor was set with black and beige checked marble tiled, which were polished so well they reflected the elaborate, layered glass chandelier hanging from the two-story ceiling. A set of stairs lined by a styled, black metal guard rail coiled from one end of the rotund hall to the other, leading to at least nine different rooms upstairs. Back on the main floor a set of white double doors on the right led into a huge gourmet kitchen and beyond that, a wondrous garden.

Duik had to remember to close his mouth. "
This place is amazing."

Off to the side of the kitchen another set of double doors led into the best room of all. It was huge first of all and filled with black couches. But the walls, the walls were lined with glass cases containing every instrument Duik could imagine. Then he saw it, at the back of the room; a mixer. Top of the line, with speakers any self-respecting DJ would probably commit a crime for, and a built in light array, even a disco ball! Duik melted.

"
I think I just died and went to heaven." He whimpered happily.

Alec smiled. "Yeah, well before you enter this heaven we're taking a shower."

"
Zere are about four bathrooms upstairs, so I am afraid you will have to take turns." Gigi said apologetically.

"
Four only?" Alec laughed.

The poodle made for the stairs. "
I 'ave heard zat your things were delivered while we were out being chased. You should find zem in ze rooms upstairs. For now you must excuse me, I shall wash and remove zis silly makeup."

@everyone

The shower was wonderful. The steam filled his lungs and though the hot water stung the cuts and scrapes all over his body the sensation was surprisingly relieving.

Duik browsed the wide array of shampoos, looking like he had lost about half his body mass as the water flattened his fur. Finally he chose a scent called "Desert Dreams" and Alec washed his coat thoroughly. By them time they came back down into the music room, smelling duly of some sort of spice and wet pine, the mini bar had been set up.

Duik had refused to come downstairs until his fur had been dried and brushed and it gleamed in the soft lighting of the room. Alec left his hair wet, though it still found ways to stick out at unruly angles. He wore a new shirt, black (cotton this time, much to his chagrin) and decided to forgo the tie.

Gigi was sitting on one of the lavish couches, but she wasn't pink anymore, nor did she have multi-coloured leopard spots dappling her flanks. Now she was a simple, white poodle, with a soft velvet ribbon at her delicate throat.

Even though she looked fantastic Duik and Alec noticed that the evening's past events had rattled her severely. Her eyes were cast down and her mind deep in thought as her brow furrowed.

Calista refused the bath and guarded the little black box as if it contained her very soul. She fished out her laptop with some difficulty and plugged the thing into it using a complex set of raw wire connections. She sat there in a corner, furiously tapping away at the keyboard, the blue-tinted light from the screen illuminated her stern, furry face and focused black eyes.

Alec eyed her worriedly as he slipped behind the bar counter and began pulling a few bottle off the shelves.

"
Orders? Rin? Simon?"

After that sort of day, Alec figured they deserved a little R&R.

Rin stood warily as their new transports arrived. He swayed a little, but nothing he couldn't hide by walking around. He took a seat in the car and closed his eyes. He tried to focus on his breathing, on letting his nerves relax of his own accord. The gas should have been put of his system by now, and he felt as much. But he was still wary not to slip into unconscious bliss. He opened his eyes when the cars slowed and pulled into the gate. He looked out the window with a smile. This was a home worthy of a pop star. His smile faded as he began to think of home when he looked at the shrubbery about the grounds. "Getting home sick are you? That's odd, even for you." Haku whispered as she too looked around. They made their way inside and he was pleased to see his luggage in a room. He immediately went to search for his sword. Then stopped mid search when he remembered that this was an undercover mission, no obvious weapons were allowed. He sighed as he grabbed up a towel and a change of clothes then made his way to a vacant bathroom. "Might as well wash up, I'm sure I smell as bad as a badger huh." He said to Haku who coiled herself inside the sink, allowing the steam that quickly filled the room to refresh her. Soon after he was changed, making his way with Haku on his shoulders into the music room and to the bar. He gave Alec a curious look. "Your a bartender now?" He asked then responded to his inquiry for drinks with a mischievous smile. "I'll take a French connection. If you can make it. Otherwise I'll take a manhattan. And if you by chance have any Plum Sake back there I'll take some in a peanut dish. Otherwise bourbon for Haku." He said to Alec, with a mischievous smile, almost challenging his mixing skills. Haku rolled her eyes and slid to the counter. "Really? A French connection? Where do you think we are?" She hissed at him playfully. Rin just shrugged "Hey, when in Rome right?" He responded jokingly.

Simon gave Calista a hopeful grin as he watched the little Civet light up at the sight of the navigation system Simon had yanked from the limo. He gave Jimbo a sideways glance, and the two almost seemed a bit relieved in their looks as they heard Calista say they could find her. Smiling, SImon looked up to see the others shake off the chase. They had been very lucky that none of them had gotten hurt as bad as they had. SImon couldn't help be feel a bit of pride for his companion who no doubt had a great deal to do with the success of the get away. It wasn't until Simon's eyed Leandra's bare back that he stopped his gaze for a moment and eyed the large scars across her back. That was rather interesting.

Before to much longer, more cars showed up to whisk the group safely away to Gigi's home. Jimbo insisted on checking every single one of the vehicles for drivers before climbing in and heading off. He wasn't about to risk another flight of course. The house that the cars brought them too was unbelievable. Simon had never seen a house so ornately decorated and lavishly stylish. As Simon walked in he had to turn his entire body around several times to take in all of the sights of just the entrance hall. Jimbo had to shove him over to the side a few times so he did not knock over something that looked like it might be a little out of their price range. Finally Gigi said something that made Jimbo perk up, showers. The gorilla was filthy, between the lack of time to rest and clean himself, and the car chase that had him sweating bullets the entire time, Jimbo could really go for a shower.

The pair found the room their things had been delivered to with relative ease, and the connected bathroom that was shared with a few other rooms. Jimbo began to get a little impatient until finally a spot opened up and he jumped at the chance. Unlike some of the others, Jimbo prefered to shower alone. When he and Simon where younger it was a bit more acceptable for them to share a bath. But now the two prefered to shower separately, which was fine as Simon had found that the door frame between the bathroom and the room where perfect for a few pull ups while he waited for Jimbo.

"Hey Jim........do you think.........Calista..........can find Amber..........with that thing?"

The two may not share a shower, but that didn't stop Simon from talking during Jimbo's. And vise-versa.

"Probably, I've scene that little fuzz ball do some pretty remarkable things with hardware."

Pretty soon the pair switched out and Simon hit the shower and Jimbo finished grooming himself with a incredibly large brush he pulled out of his bag.

"Even if she does, we were given strict orders to watch over Gigi. Not go after Amber."

Simon was quiet in the shower. Jimbo wasn't trying to forget about Amber, in truth he wanted to get her back as bad as Simon did. But orders where orders, and not following orders had already given the brothers enough troubles in the past.

Finally Simon and Jimbo left the bathroom and headed back down till they could hear voices coming from the music room. They walked in to find Alec, Duik, Rin and Haku conversing at the bar. At the sound of his name, Simon wandered over to the bar and subconsciously sat so that Jimbo could sit between him and Haku.

"I'll have a double jack and coke on the rocks, and a White Russian for the gorilla."

Jimbo wasn't sure if Simon was trying to see if Alec would take that as a joke or seriously. While typically Jim wouldn't drink, after his limo driving experience, something with a kick actually did sound kind of nice.

Samantha sighed in relief when the transport arrived and smiled,she got to her feet wearily and leaned on Velora who allowed her until they got in the transport,she left Samantha to fend for herself until they got to Gigis home which they both looked at slack jawed,it was beautiful inside and out.Once everyone was inside Samantha marvelled some more,upon hearing the offer of a bath she realized both her and Velora reaked of badger musk and sweat "Come on Velora I bet a bath would us both good,after all do you really want to smell like badger?" she said to Velora who whipped her tail angrily as she would rather smell like carrion or dirt,especially the dirt part since nothing could track her scent and she would have a more natural scent than soap which usually got in her eyes but she didn't really have a choice because Samantha was dragging her to the bathroom.Once they both reached the bathroom Samantha took a deep breath inhaling the scent of a clean atmosphere,Velora stepped into the shower first and Samantha turned to water on so it was warm,Velora to mumble with the pleasure of warmth and her crest turned a vibrant yellow signifying the warmth coming from the shower water "Gigi has a good life" she said to Samantha who smiled and nodded before grabbing a bottle bodywash labeled 'jungle mist' and washing Velora with it who protested with hisses before giving up and letting Samantha finish and rinse her off,she bolted the second that the soap was rinsed off,she smelled like tropical fruit and spices and left wet splashes of water which dripped off her scales "The human that created soap must pay!" she screeched and sat down near a heater or warm spot shiverring slightly.Samantha sighed when Velora abandoned the bathtub,she had known Velora despised soap but this was the home of a star and she was determined to look presentable even if her companion wasn't,she decided to use some flower scented wash and shampoo before drying off and redressing,nothing beat a warm bath she thought as she turned the water off and left the bathroom allowing someone else to go as she went to find her unfaithful lizard.

Alec smiled at Rin's teasing. "I dabbled. Had to earn something while I went through school." He pulled a bottle of Hennesy down off the shelf and flipped the amaretto as he retrieved that as well.

"One french connection coming up and...wait, you give your snake alcohol?" Alec was curious. "Can't wait to see how her metabolism deals with that." He poured a small shot of the bourbon and slid both drinks down the counter with a styled flick. "Vive le France. You know? This bar is surprisingly well-stocked for a poodle. Can't find any plum sake though, sorry Rin."

"It iz mostly for show. To entertain my 'uman guests." Gigi mentioned distractedly.

"I'll take a jaeger bomb!" Duik chimed in.

"Not a chance D."

"Aww, you're no fun."

"Why don't you go check out that mixer, I bet Gigi wouldn't mind."

"Oh Yeah!!!!" The hyena bounced off without a look backward.

Just then Simon and Jimbo appeared and came up to the bar. Alec shot them a grin as Simon ordered.

"Dunno Jimbo, you need to do anymore driving today?" He flipped two glasses up onto the counter, tossing one into the air before setting it down.

"Seriously though, I've seen F1 drivers who couldn't beat the turns you made with that limo. It was impressive."

Alec made the drinks and served them up before pouring a straight shot of the hennesy for himself and downing it.

He nearly coughed as the liquid burned its way down his throat. "Ugh...been that kind of day."

Then he looked about and said more quietly. "Has Calista been able to make any headway with the box?" He chanced a look over at her.

As far as he knew, the Watch didn't have eyes in the house, and he sure as heck wasn't going to tell anyone what the civet was doing.

"I'd be going crazy if Duik was the one being held. I can't even imagine what she's going through. And geez, I hope Agent Strong is ok."

He looked at Simon, trying to discern something of the big man's feelings on the topic. Then chanced to say; "We'll get her back. Don't worry. Its not my style to leave people behind."

@zCrookedz @andujarprime

Duik's eyes were wide with wonder, he barely dared to place his paws on the beautiful set up. Oh the glorious music he could make with this machine.

Slowly he began familiarizing himself with the numerous buttons, sliders and switches.

"Hey Dino, you dance?" He asked as he caught the pair entering the lounge. "Does anyone for that matter?"

Duik had had enough of the awful, frightened atmosphere since they'd been in that car chase, and the one thing he was good at, was lightening a mood.

@ManyFaces @everyone

It was dark, and Amber's head swam. She was vaguely aware of a dull pain in her shoulder and an ache in her ribs. Her throat was dry and scratchy. How long had she been out? Why couldn't she think clearly? She waited a bit longer and slowly some of her senses returned. She could hear the steady drip of water, from a leak in the ceiling it sounded like, the drop fell a long way and was landing in a puddle.

She tried to move but found herself bound to a chair with metal restraints. So she was a prisoner.

It was damp and musty with the faint smell of sewage. In the distance, muffled by feet of stone or concrete she could hear city traffic. So she was underground, by a water source in a city. She tried to sort through the cities in her mind that fit those criteria but her thoughts slipped away from her. Why was it so hard to focus?

Footsteps sounded behind her and she let her head slump back down on her chest.

"How is she healing?"

"Well, the fracture in her shoulder knit in place and the ribs are setting nicely, they shouldn't need further treatment."

That explained the pain.

"And the drugs? You are sure she'll remain peaceful, and the dosage is correct?"

And that explained why she couldn't think.

"I won't know about the dosage until she regains consciousness, look, her heart rate is increased, I think she may be coming round."

Damn, they had been monitoring her vital signs. Perhaps this was a chance however. She had to think, and whatever they were pumping into her was preventing that. Time to play it up.

Amber groaned like a zombie and made a point of rolling her head, letting it fall back down to her chest as if she couldn't control it.

"Agent Strong, can you hear me." Someone lifted her chin and shone a light into her pupil. Amber made a few more unintelligible noises before shutting her eyes and blinking widely. She drooled a bit too, for good measure.

Whoever it was was too shaded to see in the gloomy chamber, but his voice was distinct.

"The dosage it too high. Put it down."

"I assure you that is the correct dosage for her weight."

"She's no use to us drugged out of her mind. I need her coherent."

There was a pause. "Very well sir."

The pair left the room, and left Amber in darkness. Through the fog that clouded her thoughts she felt the pleasure of that small victory. Once she could think she might be able to find out where she was, and gather more information. All she had to do was wait.

Beth followed along quietly, subdued by Totus's treatment of her. The owl sat coldly on her shoulder. The pair didnt say a single word on the ride to Gigi's home.

As they stepped out, Totus gave a grunt and muttered, "Im going hunting." He didnt say anything more before he took off, circling out of sight before she could argue.

She cast her eyes down to the floor, tears pricking even as she was welcomed into the most beautiful house she had ever stood in. She barely saw the amazing decor. She did, however, perk up at the mention of a shower. It would be really nice to get the glass out of her hair. Beth headed upstairs, feeling very, very alone, and found her room. She dug a fine-toothed comb and some clothes out of her bag and headed to the nearest open bathroom. The girl climbed up onto the large counter and laid a towel out beside her. parting her hair down the middle, she tilted her hair over the towel and began combing sections of one side carefully. Little pieces of glass slid out on the comb's teeth and fell onto the towel. She did one side of her hair, then turned to do the other. Her hands ached, her neck ached, but she was getting all of the glass out the first time if it killed her.

At last, she was sure her hair was glass-free. Beth turned the shower on and hopped in, surprised by the variety of products and scents available. True to form, she settled for something that looked simple and smelled like pine. She tried to focus on the smell and the warmth of the water, to keep her thoughts from straying.

A short time later, she was out of the shower and dressed in fresh jeans and a soft green top. The fabric was light and moved a little when she walked, hanging over her hips. Her favorite shirt. Beth fingered the hem, looking at herself in the mirror for a long moment. With a sigh, she left the room and headed downstairs. The others were beginning to perk up, Duik was even playing some music on Gigi's equipment. Their host herself looked very distracted and upset, so Beth sat next to her to offer a little company. She didn't say anything, but gave the poodle a smile. Beth settled into braiding her hair into two "Dutch" braids, watching everything quietly.
